I think it would be too hard to balance. Your example, for instance, is already a risky pick. It may look fine for things like Stakeout, STBFL or Distortion, but it's going to be a nightmare on Potential Energy.

Any perk that can be used by both sides basically doubles its balancing load.

That's a fair counterpoint. I figured the effects would be something simple as far as balancing goes since they'd have to be general perks. The token thing was the first that came to mind and I figured a long enough cooldown would be fine to offset any OP-ness that might come from such a thing.

    @OrangeBear said:

    I think... what's the point ☹

Eh, just to add some more general perks to the game for both sides and for something a little different. I don't remember anyone else bringing this up before so I thought I would since as far as I know, it's a unique suggestion.

    @HugTheHag said:

We almost have that, with Windows - Zanshin Tactics, and to a lesser extent Fogwise - Gearhead.

    I think it's a fun concept !

That's true. Perks like that could be changed a little to have the same effect, made into a general perk and then the originals could be reworked to have new effects all together.

Thanks for the replies everyone. ^_^

  • @Emeal said:

I think bHVR is over effects like that, Old Tinkerer would be an example of that.

it was not pretty. It was very unbalnced.

Yeah, the perk could be changed any which-way. I was more curious of what people thought about a Perk(s) that could be used by the killer and survivor at the same time instead of limiting it to one side.

  • You're kind of saying two different things, one I agree with and one I don't. Judging/criticizing someone for doing something is not quite the same as demanding/expecting them to change that something.

I might judge or criticize you for an action like mass slugging at 5 gens with an early DC but I also support you being able to do that and I don't expect you to change on my behalf. I might ask why or make a backhanded comment about it but I would never say, "You can't do that!" or demand you stop doing it.

They are two very different things in my eyes.

  • I think it might be your area. I live in US East and I get fairly quick Killer/Survivor queues; both normally less then a minute.

As killer I have two different types I play. I have some killers I only meme around on and as such my MMR is super low so I tend to get new players and killers I sweat on where I get much better players. In both cases my queue times are usually less then a minute.

As for difficulty, the meme games have babies that I could absolutely destroy if I wanted but I always mess around in those games and usually let most if not everyone go. I usually use these games to do challenges that don't relate to killing anyone.

For the try-hard games I tend to find maps have a big part in how well I do. Nemesis is my "main" for the most part and if I get coal tower or something I don't do too bad and while I'll still lose, I can usually point out my mistakes and the matches usually feel even enough.

On the other hand, if I get Disturbed Ward against people who even semi-know what they're doing, then it feels like an uphill battle. Of course I can still point out my mistakes and even win but there are also times where I feel I had little chance at my current skill level.

So really, it just depends on the circumstances. Overall I think Killer/Survivor are both fine though solo queue could use a buff with info. I tend to play in a 2-man and we win and lose about equally and the same for killer. I'm sure other people have different experiences but for me, I don't really have any major complaints on either end besides some minor buffs/nerfs in some places.

  • @daniel_owenz said:

Well anyway, I just did it, and the achievement popped. Thanks for letting me know about the prompt. Kinda silly it's a bit glitched and doesn't pop up sometimes.

    Congrats. :)

  • There will be a "kill" prompt on the bottom of the screen when you're next to a survivor. Sometimes the prompt will disappear even when you're close so you have to keep an eye on it as you have to be right on top of them.

Jumping into a locker is the only counter to the add-on. If you could kill even out of lockers then it would make it the most busted thing in the game.

If you're having problems with the lockers then you can try bringing agitaiton/iron grasp to carry them away as well as Play With Your Food. Some maps make it so the survivor can't get back to a locker when dropping them in a corner. The Game map exit gates are one such spot though the map itself is difficult.

  • I'm more confused on why people are revolting now when FOMO has been a major thing with the Prime skins and Rift Charms/Skins since they started? Like, why was this the final straw? Holiday skins you never see anyone wearing anyway unless it's the holiday? Is it not the skins themselves but the idea of FOMO being bad? Then why is no one outraging about everything else FOMO related and only about these skins? Would people really be okay with everything else if the skins simply stayed? Was our FOMO levels at the tip of the glass before this little stunt spilled over a little? I doubt it.

It honestly feels more like Mob mentality rather then genuine concern which you see on the forums now and again. The people who hated FOMO from the very start have suddenly gained traction behind a Mob and I feel like nothing is going to change and those same few people will be left alone again when everyone inevitably stops caring which is incredibly sad.

For the record, I don't care all that much about the skins or any of this FOMO business because it doesn't effect me. I do think it's a dumb decision to time-lock the skins though since it will upset people. What really gets me is all the bandwagon people that suddenly have a problem when there was none before. It's like if a small protest group that's been active for years suddenly gets news coverage and now their group of 10 is suddenly in the 100's. Then a week or so goes by and that group is down to 13 because hardly anyone cared, people just wanted to be involved in the new hip thing.

I hope something comes from all this outrage because I don't like time-locked stuff and everything else even if it doesn't really effect me but I have a feeling this will all die out once people realize they don't actually care that much. I do hope I'm wrong though.

  • Depends on the killer I'm playing, challenges and how the survivors play.

I have a couple killers I just meme around on and some others I try-hard.

If I'm doing a kill all survivors challenge then I tend to sweat it a little while if I'm doing something like glyphs then I play casually, trying not to tunnel or camp.

If I'm playing casual but the survivors are really going all out and it's a close match then I'll sweat a bit more. I'll also try and take it easy if I got a ton of hooks and they're still at 4-5 gens.

Edit: Early dc's I'll start farming if another survivor gives up otherwise I'll just mess around, 2-hook everyone and then let them go or farm depending on what they wanna do. I do the same with a early suicide as well.

I also tend to start farming if they do something really cute or stupid where you have to take a second to understand what just happened. Generally, if one get a laugh out of me I'll let them all go. I don't take the game super seriously most of the time so I don't mind letting people go or giving them hatch or whatnot.

Wait, Coconut said this? Or did he just post a video of someone else talking about this?

If it was Coconut.... I'm going to be surprised as trying to claim it's bannable to counter an insta kill addon with no hook states sounds a bit entitled in my opinion. Something I never associated him with.

The "it's bannable / an exploit" argument in my head sounds like this to me: Let me mori you! No! You can't jump into a locker, that isn't fair! I wanna kill you, Let me kill you! :'((((

Yeah, I agree and I have a hard time believing OP, unless it's some other Coconut or it's been taken out of context or something. I mean, Coco has a video from last month where he hides in a locker over and over from a Tombstone Myers in 2v1 and they manage an escape. Seems weird he'd change stances like that.

To OP, would you mind posting the video?

  • Yeah, it happens sometimes. I just had a Ghostface game yesterday or maybe the day before where he t-bagged on every down and then when I was last alive, he t-bagged me for a while before picking me up. I was watching youtube at this point so I wasn't wiggling, he took me to hatch and closed it in front of me before t-bagging some more and then hooking me. I wasn't mad or anything and I found it kind of funny actually.

I'm sure whoever they were, they were having the time of their life.

The match time limit is 1 hour and 5 minutes now. It was confirmed by mod in other thread.

Thanks, I thought they had changed that recently.

  • NA East, just had them at 100% killer about an hour ago though it didn't last very long. Recently, it hasn't been any specific time but just randomly for about a match maybe two.

  • @InvadeGames said:

some people say games cant last more than 1 hour

Was just about to ask about that as I thought they capped the match length recently to be an hour. I'll have to double check cause it might be bugged I'm guessing.

  • Small workaround, I've found if you tap the gen when the promp come up and then get back on it quick, it will work sometimes.

  • It's an interesting bug. I've had it happen once as killer and once as Survivor. No idea what causes it but it's been a thing for sometime now, though super rare from my experience.

Edit: I'm actually not surprised considering two them are red barring. I'm guessing the bug happens because of the ping/server issue.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

In case anyone is wondering, it's the fact there are 3 alive and yet only 2 hook states left. One of the survivors has DC'd but the game didn't change the picture to show it. It's a weird bug, assuming that's what happened here.

Found a way to cheese that achievement, by playing Clown and using the speedy yellow gas bottles on survivors that are trying to unhook. Got it first try.

That was my first thought as well. Clown yellow bottles for one or two games depending. Nice to know that it works.

  • I don't think "Because I wanted the game to end" is good enough of a reason to sell out a teammate via working with the killer. But fair enough, I suppose that is a reason all the same, as ######### as may be.

  • I've had that happen to me I think once, though it was with a single survivor and not that long. I killed the third guy and decided to just let the other guy have hatch as I wanted to get something to eat. I come back maybe 10 minutes later and see the game is still on. I walk around and find them sitting on hatch and then they hop in. No tbags, no nothing, just gone.

No idea what that was about.

You are lucky he didn't just rat you out. That's what normally happens to me in that situation.

In 6 years of playing I have still never worked with the killer to go rat out the last survivor yet it happens to me 24/7 feels like. Makes me babyrage and go play killer myself

Especially if it was a match were the killer had to leave chases with me all the time because I was a better player than them; but MMR delivered amazing teammates who still rolled over and died trivially and there's nothing I can do in the 2v1

I love when the killer tries to work with me to get the last guy. I've only had it happen twice that I can recall and had a blast both times.

One time with a swf buddy so we were able to keep him busy for like 10 minutes while I led him around to the wrong places, hopping in lockers and just acting confused when I couldn't find him. When my buddy was on the opposite side he'd make a noise notification and hide and the killer would swing at me to follow and we'd check an area he wasn't in anymore and I'd point somewhere else, it was great.

Another when I was solo and just kept going to wrong spot and pointing at lockers and the killer would check and shake their head. They only put up with it for a few minutes but it was still hilarious.

Never got why the last survivor rats out the other like that. It's not like the killer will just let them go, most of the time they end up dead as well.

  • My cats have unplugged my router a few times while playing though not much else. I actually had to redo my entire setup so they didn't keep unplugging it.

I've had a couple screen blocks but they're normally good about that and just lay on my lap.

  • Like everyone else has said, Vit seems like he'll be popular.

Knight depends one what is or isn't changed though even if he's buffed, I feel like he might share a similar fate as Artist. Strong but not played all that much.

  • They're all the same except a few instances.

T1 Myers is shorter while T3 is longer

Nurse blink lunge is a slightly shorter

Wraith post cloak is longer. I believe this is also true of Spirit and Legion (they also have an add-on to increase lunge time)

Not sure about Blight rush lunge

Oni dash I believe is shorter and Pig Dash is a lot longer.

That's most of them though I may very well have missed a few.

  • Not even close, if anything they should add more sex appeal outfits because those skins would sell great. If they added normal swimsuit skins for the girls and guys alike in both roles, that's all you'd see. Hell, give Clown a speedo and I bet you'd see him every other game.

  • Fatal Frame

A ton to potential candidates to choose from for a base DLC and ample amounts of skin possibilities, both for Survivor and Killer.

  • Devout emblem has been broken for like a month. That's what is causing it.

How do you know that they are on PS?

Could be from microsoft store and epic store too

I'm play on Playstation so I can see if they're on the same platform, I play with both crossplay off and on depending on my mood. One of the good Nurses I've seen only plays crossplay off and only at like 1 in the morning. I can't recall their name but it starts with a P I think and they're the most omega sweaty one I've seen. Full meta perks, add-ons, map offering, slug/camp at 5 gens and nods after every hit and tends to just watch the 4th player bleed out. They have like 8k hours if memory serves when my buddy checked via PS5. I haven't seen them since Range add-ons got nerfed so maybe they quit lol.

The others with crossplay on I could see were on my platform and I messaged them though they never got back. One was something-humbleyourself. Usually no perks or add-ons and plays semi-fair, I've also had them as Huntress as well though the matches are a lot closer then when they play Nurse. Can't recall the last ones name but they also use no perks add-ons from the times I've played against them. If I saw their name I'd recognize it.

PC wise, I've had a few TTV's with one of them having like 10k plus hours. I got absolutely destroyed and I'd say there were hands down the best one I've played against, to the point I somewhat thought they were cheating during the match. The PS ones above weren't quite that level but I wouldn't say they were that much weaker either. Semi-noticeable skill difference but not enough where it would change the outcome in the majority of matches I'd wager.

Sorry, went on a bit of a spiel there, lol.

This is what I thought happened, so checked for the add-on but the killer only had the break a pallet when you vault it.

That's not an add-on. That's a base kit change they made sometime back.

Edit: The 5th frenzy hit downing I mean.

  • I disagree pretty hard that Nurse is impossible to play on console. She's "harder" to play because of limitations but she's still easily the best killer when someone gets good at them.

I've played against multiple Playstation Nurses, that before seeing them at the end screen I would have sworn they were PC because of their movements, they never missed and the entire team was wiped at 4-5 gens. I've also seen two different PS Nurses multiple times that don't use perks/add-ons and just ######### on everyone.

Are they as good as some of the best PC ones I played against? Not quite but I'd still put them at the level where they probably ######### on the majority of players, same as the PC ones.

  • AFAIK bots are always perkless and I don't think they're programmed to take hits either, at least I haven't seen that yet. Are you sure it was ds and not a pallet save?

Because if it was DS then maybe you somehow queued into a normal match?

  • I'd be down for getting P9 since that's the last rewarded prestige but god no for lvl100. We already have some grindy ones and I'd rather not have anymore of that caliber. The fact they had escape RPD by opening the door 20 times last chapter was already bad enough. :/

  • I think (not 100% sure) power struggle counts towards it so that could help.

  • Pretty sure they do bans in waves and not just individually, though don't quote me on that. I'd check again in a week-month if you really wanted to be sure they weren't banned.

  • Currently Nemesis because I enjoy whipping people. That's about it; I really enjoy using his power, as simple as that is.

I used to play Oni a ton but recently I've started to get stressed when playing him and I'm not sure why. Nothing's changed but I get in my own head.

Played Artist for a while when she first came out and thought I'd main her but I just kind of stopped. I still like her but not enough to call her a main.

Outside of Nemi I'll usually play Wraith, Legion, Doctor, Myers, or Demo when doing challenges. They're all straight-forward so I don't really have to think much while playing and doing whatever the challenge is.

I'll play all the other killers for daily's or if I'm feeling in a certain mood for one of them.

  • I've seen it a couple times around then as well. Also at like 2 in the morning. It's always a treat.

  • Played survivor against Scott using a Bubba meme build. Got 4k'd but chat thought I was good looper for some reason and Scott corrected them saying I was "Okay". I was only one who actually looped in that match so they were somewhat impressed lol. He also got Power Struggled by my friend which was hilarious and chat loved it. Was a fun match from what I recall. Scott also got Iron Maiden value at the very end on my friend who Power Struggled him which was also hilarious.

Played against Ralph two times that I can remember. Got 4k'd at 5 gens in one match and had a 2-man out on the other. He was a bit salty from the 2-man escape but he seemed like he was having a bad day. He actually stopped streaming after that match.

Played against Monto off-stream when he was doing a build video. It didn't make it in though.

Can't recall their names but I played against a 2-man swf as Oni on The Lab against a couple well known streamers. Got steamrolled as I was using the meme no power build.

Went against Zubat when he was doing the Hag adept. We almost won pretty hard with 3-hooks at end game and then we all died to his devour. We threw super hard which was hilarious.

There was a couple more as well but I can't really recall any of them at the moment.

  • I think the rifts are pretty fair. Doing every challenge pretty much guarantees you to finish it. I don't know how much extra will be needed for the bonus levels but I'm currently at 36 from doing the Halloween and lvl 1 stuff.

When the they first came out, I agree they were way too grindy and I had to put in a lot of extra games. As they are now though, I think they're perfect, not counting the bonus levels at least. That has yet to be seen.

  • I've been getting host errors since last update every now and then but no crashes yet.

  • Not about the camping but I saw a few people talk about the Doctor 3-Gen and I found the dev screenshot talking about it. I think there was another but this was all I could find.

    werwf.jpg

As far as the topic goes, it's a solid no. They can't be reported for camping.

  • Kindred, Lucky Break, Overcome, Open Slot; currently using either Lightweight, CoH, Open-Handed, Reassurance or Bite the Bullet.

    Kindred for solo/2-man info

Lucky Break/Overcome for a, where the hell did they go build. It's fairly effective on a lot of maps and wastes a ton of the killers time when it works. I usually bring a yellow medkit with 2 heals so I tend to get good value out of it.

I normally use Lightweight for when Lucky Break is gone. I think a lot of people sleep on how nasty the new Lightweight can be. I've had killers lose me at a normal T/L wall just because my scratches must have disappeared and I left the loop.

I'm honestly glad more people don't use the disappearing build because I hate it as killer.

  • PS4, map runs fine for me on both Killer/Survivor. I might get spikes every now and then but it happens on every map and it's not super common. Maybe like once or twice a match if even that and It's normally after a unhook/gen or something like that.

Very much playable for me and I've been playing RPD a lot going for the 20 escape trophy.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Nightlight has any affiliation with BHVR or this forum. It's all public input stuff and was made by some dude from reddit I believe.

You'd probably have to talk to whoever owns the site, I'm sure they must have some contact info on the site itself.

Edit: Nevermind everything I said. I only skimmed your post and thought you met the site itself.

  • Shelter Woods: Super open with a complete dead zone in the middle. The map normally has like 5 pallets and is all-around a bad time unless you get good RNG.

Azarovs: It's basically designed for killers to play defensively by picking a side from the start. If you're lucky you'll get 4 gens on one side and you can just sit back and wait as they have to come to you. It normally takes a coordinated team to win on the map unless the killer just doesn't care for that strategy.

I had the same problem yesterday and today so restarting the system didn't do anything. I deselected and reselected the challenge but the next game I got 50k+ and completed the challenge so I have no idea if that actually fixed it or not (initially I was getting 30k-40k points and it still show 0/50,000 on progress)

Not sure then. I know it worked for me and my friend yesterday. I got it in a single game while it took him two. He got like 49k and it did show up for him he said.

Have you tried both sides to see if that maybe does something? I'm not really sure what else to suggest besides making a bug report.

  • Try restarting your system. I've seen a couple people mention that their progress on challenges froze and a reset fixed it.

Ahh, the more you know. Welp, I guess it's time for me to go get a better gaming chair off of amazon. I'll post my results once it arrives in a week or two. Stay tuned.

Looking at the scoreboard, it doesn't look that badly matched.

I was just about to say the same thing. In matches where I get curbstomped by Nurse, hardly anyone breaks 10k. I'd love to have scores like that as my norm against Nurse.

  • Yup, it's a typical host error. The killer probably didn't get disconnected though as I believe that's just a bug. I've been in 2-mans where I got host disconnected, it said me and the killer DC'd but my friend and the killer were still playing just fine.

I usually reset my system and it seems to help though recently, I've only been getting host errors when I played Demo and the 3rd or 4th gen would pop, kicking me. Weird stuff.

Do you mean seppuku? The ritual suicide? Sodoku is the number puzzle.

It's a meme thing. Here's a knowyourmeme link if you're at all curious about it.

  • PS4 as well, I got a few disconnected from host errors yesterday but only when I played Demo. It always happened right after a gen was completed. Probably just a coincidence but I've put Demo on the backburner until next patch just in case.

Id much rather face the "bully squad" than the "gen rush squad" that brings bnps on commodius toolboxes, and doesnt waste time going for ridiculous flashlight saves etc. But hey congrats on your first squad xD

I 100% agree. Bully squads tend to just mess around the entire game so you have little chance of losing. As long as you don't let it get to ya too much it can even be fun and you can mess around a bit to.

4-Man SWF's (not even swat squads) who are trying to win hard and nothing else are a lot more stressful as it feels like there's nothing you can do sometimes. Playing a weaker killer or getting a bad map can only make it worse as well.
