Flip Flop, Power Struggle and Tenacity. Chase the killer when they pick someone up and go down on purpose when you know you'll have time to crawl to a pallet.
Alternatively, if you ever end up in deep wounds and not getting chased, let yourself bleedout under a pallet and wait until the killer comes over to pick you up. Also can work with Nemi zombies.
Shouldn't take many games at all.

I noticed my games net me currently 1000 - 1500 XP games ( Doubt XP event ), which is 2 or 3 rift fragments. During double rift points though, I was getting 2 or 4 rifts more consistently.
Perhaps it's meant to be more rewarding the more matches does player have. All I know is I never managed to get like 2k XP per match ( 4 rift fragments ) but did get 1k XP per match for sure which was 4 fragments more reliably. Shards do make a pretty bonus towards Double XP event.
You can't get 1k XP without an XP multiplier though. The XP caps a little over 600 per match and what you're probably noticing was the daily role XP bonus.
You get a bonus 300 XP for first game of the day for each role. After that first match you're back to ~600 per match or ~1200 with double XP.
TBF, double XP does not double the daily role so technically you could gain 1 or 2 extra RF a day depending on what your XP is at but that's only when counting the daily role which I am not when comparing the two.
Outside of that they both get total Rift Fragments equally but at different integer values. 2x RF is 4-2-2-2-2 and then repeats while 2x XP is 3-2-3-2-2. This is not counting the daily bonus and again, assuming you cap around ~600 a match.
To sum up, with 2x RF you get the 4RF around every 5 games while 2x XP will never net you 4RF in a single match, it does net you 3RF multiple times which negates that extra RF from 2x RF making them equal out.
I'm not sure if I explained that well enough but I can try to explain it a bit better if you like.

The fact that I haven't earned 4 rift fragments from a single match during double XP yet ( max was 3 rift fragments per match ) but did so during double rift fragment event makes me believe that it's easier to get 4 rift fragments from double rift event than from double xp event.
They're both equal in the long term fragment wise but 2x XP also lets you get shards easier so it's overall better. I'll give you an example to show you.
It takes 500XP to level once and lets say you get 600XP every time over a course of 5 games. The lines below are how the XP would look and your rift fragment (RF) total after those games.
2x Rift Fragments
[400/500] XP starting value --> [0/500] 4RF --> [100/500] 6RF --> [200/500] 8RF --> [300/500] 10RF --> [400/500] 12RF
2x XP
[400/500] XP starting value --> [100/500] 3RF --> [300/500] 5RF --> [0/500] 8RF --> [200/500] 10RF --> [400/500] 12RF
As you can see, the 2x RF will gain an extra in the 1st game but the 2x XP gets in back in the 3rd game so they end up equal. Again though, 2x XP also give progress towards Iri Shards so is overall the better choice.

Sometimes. Depends entirely on how sweaty the match was. If I was sweating hard then I'm defending it to the last second. If it's been chill then I'll usually just leave or look for someone close.
-
I like running Distortion, spawning alone and the killer still comes to me first. It's only happened a small handful of times but it's still chuckle worthy.
-
From what I understand they're only allowed so much bandwidth per update (they've brought that up multiple times) and at least on console they also have to pay to update the game; unless that's changed sometime in the past which someone please feel free to correct me on.
That means that say they have 100 things they want to change, only 10 will fit in the update so they have to pick and choose what's important. That number also gets lower with bug fixes and stuff like that.
If I had to guess, I bet they have things ready to ship but have to wait until they can find a patch to put it in.
I'd also wager the higher ups will only allow so many patches to go out in a certain timeframe to keep costs low but that's speculation.
Its what I've been able to gather anyway with how they've talked about it in the past.
-
I think I've seen pretty much every killer at least once in the past few months besides Clown. I think it's been around half a year or so.
Edit: Just had a Clown in my last match. So now I'm not really sure who I've seen the least.
-
Clown is surprisingly complicated with that stuff. I watched a video about some guy going very in-depth with Clown bottle placements using both tonics and how nearly every loop in the game is unsafe when played right.
Gave me a little more respect for Clown. Problem is there is very few at that level so you never see it as survivor, if you even see Clown in the first place.
Personally, I just spam purple and once in a while yellow during a pickup when I know I have to reload anyway.
-
It's fun because it's new and a lot of people are just messing around since it's a test.
Once the full game releases, people will optimize the fun out of it, a meta will form and they'll have to keep adding stuff to keep it fresh if they want it to last a while.
That said, it doesn't have to last nearly as long as DBD to be successful. Do some updates here and there adding a map and killers, fix anything too OP and the game will probably have it's own niche of players for a while which is just fine.

How long were queue times for you when you switched off crossplay? I've been considering turning mine off but I don't wanna wait 15 minutes on a game
Haven't done it recently, been around half a year but they were only a couple minutes if that during the afternoon. At late night early morning they would waver around 5 minutes or so. Not too bad IMO. In fact, give me a couple minutes and I'll turn it off and check.
Edit: Queue times have gotten much much worse from what they were. 10+ Minutes for each role. Would not recommend turning it off.
-
My personal take on these killers. I think most are fine actually outside of some add-on tweaks or QoL changes.
Trapper: Make trapper bag basekit without the downside. Even being able to hold all his traps at once, he's still not gonna be a great killer. Let the poor dude have his power. If you want to buff him more then let him recall a set trap every X seconds.
Wrath: I think he is fine.
Billy: A few add-on tweaks but I think he is fine.
Hag: I think she is fine.
Myers: Make it so partially stalked survivors slowly recharge. Change his Tombstone Piece and the faster movement while stalking add-ons to recharge stalk rate add-ons of plus/minus. When a survivor is fully stalked, he gets a temp X% speed boost and after X seconds the fully stalked survivor will go back to full from empty so you can't spam the speed boost. Also let him stalk multiple people at once.
Huntress: Generally fine. Would be okay with that Iri add-on being base though.
Freddy: Let him have both Pallets/Snares and do some major add-on changes.
-
As a console player about the only two I think need slight tweaks are Trickster and Pinhead.
The constant recoil of throwing knives is very hard to control to the point survivors can stand still and you'll miss a bunch as you're trying to line up.
Pinhead has a similar issue when going for long chain hits. Close hits are fine but going for any kind of distance feels borderline impossible but granted, I have not played him very much so that could just be inexperience.
Every other killer requires a bit more effort then PC to get a handle on but they are plenty playable and can still destroy most groups if you put in the time. I've seen plenty of console Nurses, Huntresses and what not that I'd swear were PC if not for the endscreen and seeing they were on the same platform.
Heck, when I was playing crossplay off for a while, there was a couple perkless Nurse and Huntress players I saw multiple times that were stupidly good. Not quite as good as some PC ones I've since seen but damn well close.

DS dribbling. The amount of angry messages and DC's you'd get from that was something special. It was also hilarious to watch.

Thx i will try it. Just had another gane where a surv would rather die to endgame than me
Best of luck to you! It can take a few go's because of how rough the map is and the inevitable DC's when they realize they're screwed but I've found multiple success's at doing it there.
There are also other maps that could work though I've never tested them. Some of the Haddonfield corners might be far enough away and some maps that get multiple rock dead zones; Macmillan maps come to mine could work but you have to pray for good RNG.
Again, best of luck to you! ^_^
-
Copying and pasting a comment I made about this a while ago.
Agitation, Iron Grasp, PWYF, Corrupt, The Game offering and hope you get a normal group with no dc's. You could also swap IG/Corrupt for Lethal so you know right where to go at the start or something else you're more comfortable with but it's nice to have IG/Agi just in case.
The game has a lot of loops where you can stalk them without much issue and while the pallets will be a pain, as long as you can get a kill early enough, you don't really have to worry about having gen defense.
The reason for Agi/IG is for when they hop in lockers. Slowly bring them to the exit gates and drop them from the lip. As long as you got 3 stacks of PWYF it's impossible for them to make it to a locker in time.
It might take a few tries as any good group will demolish you and dc's will ruin it but I've found this method to be fairly consistent if you can get an early enough kill.
-
Yeah, DBD will be fine. It's got at least another year of flops before I'd start to get concerned and even then it'd still be fine as long as they support it.
I don't think DBD will ever truly die until support stops. Some people have a lot a lot of hours in this game and sunk cost fallacy is very real.
-
I assume it'll be an okay to decent chapter based on previous years. Going from the past all the June release killers are
Clown, Ghostface, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, and Dredge.
It's usually the chapter after the anniversary that's a real banger though.
Spirit, Demo, Blight, Pinhead, and Wesker.
If the pattern keeps up, this chapter will be not bad and the one after will be a big name killer; Alien, Chucky, etc.
-
There are multiple posts about it in the Bug Report section. They are aware of it.
-
It's fine though you can't force them to farm if they don't want to. Say 3 are helping you and one is doing gens to leave. You can't force him to stay by slugging or hooking him to try and make him stay.
-
I think Demo is in a pretty good spot power wise. If anything, only some minor add-on tweaks but that's true for pretty much every killer.
-
Funny, I also played on Gas Heaven a bunch today. Twice in a row with no offerings and then on an off a couple times after that. Also curious if it's on or off for the reworks.

Eh, honestly, I have worse messages saved somewhere.
Looking at your old screenshots, I'm surprised Xbox is so lenient with stuff like that. PS is super anal and you have to skirt around everything you say in case someone reports you. Minor swears, any kind of innuendo to #########, just saying "kill, die, or death" even in context of a game is sometimes enough to warrant a temp ban though it's normally just removed.
I figured xbox would be the same. I guess it's both a good and bad thing it's not. Hope you get nicer messages in the future. ^_^
-
Just spent a mil a little while ago. It's probably my favorite thing the game has added in recent memory.
I'm not sure how it works though? It seems to always target pink rarity first and sometimes purple even if it doesn't have to. Maybe it knows how the bloodweb is going to act so getting them is actually cheaper? Still seem a little off sometimes.
Very minor complaint though. I love it so much as a console user.
-
I remember seeing an Otz video or compilation (I think) where he Pain Res'd a gen with little or no progress and then another gen popped not long after since it was deadlocked.
He was heartbroken.
-
-
Yes but it's not that big of a deal depending on what you're doing.
PC has better optimization and runs a ton better. Newer gen consoles aren't the worst though.
Some killers are a lot easier to use on PC like Trickster, Blight, etc. That said, I've seen plenty of Blights, Nurses, Huntresses that played so good I thought they were PC and it turned out they were on PS with me. Never seen a good console Trickster though.
The big thing is it takes longer to get better at them on console but you can be almost as good. Comp killer good? Prolly not but still good enough to win the majority of your games without issue if you're playing a higher tier killer.
Survivor is basically the same to a point.
Overall PC is of course better but it's negligible in most cases. Skill level and game knowledge are far more important then anything else. Going to PC won't magically make you a better player, outside of some killers like Trickster.
-
I play 50/50 and I'm fine with most of the stuff myself. People freak out over any change but I think it's nice to see some big changes and stuff will still change from the PTB to live. It doesn't matter what they do though, there will always be doomsayers.
Personally, the biggest issue to me is base healing being made 24 seconds. I think healing with someone should stay at 16 but everything else is fine.
We don't know how much the Billy add-ons got nerfed, they very well might be minimal and not even noticeable; if they are massive then yeah, I can see complaints. The overheat change is fine.
Some of the perks were nerfed to oblivion and honestly, I'm good with it if they stay that way. That said, maybe tone some back after the PTB but for the most part I think the general idea for all of them is fine. Pain Res should prolly be buffed to 20 or 25 percent since it's only 4x use for example.
People complaining about Hag are nuts. It's going to be great that traps can be removed and she doesn't need any buff's to compensate. She's already plenty strong as is, especially if the healing nerfs go through.
Nurse should keep lightburn. She doesn't need any kind of buff, no matter how minimal.
Some of the add-on changes were pretty underwhelming. Oni's and Pyramid head's both should be reworked or buffed a lot more. They're already useless and still will be IMO.
Most of the other stuff is all pretty good. I can't remember all of it though and I plan to wait and watch PTB stuff before forming any strong opinions.

I think with the ability to turn it off, Voice Comms should be in the game. I think the idea that the feature shouldn't exist because of the potential for toxicity is absurd. Yes there is potential, but the ability to turn it off nullifies that as a reason to not have it. Also, I don't think its crazy to say that if survivors could actually communicate they'd be less frustrated with each other. The fact that I can't tell my teammates how to successfully rescue me, or to slam gens, etc. infuriates me more than them actually not doing these things.
As I said, I'm 50/50 though I disagree people being less frustrated. I think people would actually get more frustrated since I don't think many people wouldn't bother using comms in the first place.
As an example, lets say you're getting facecamped by an insidious Bubba. You tell them as such and yet the whole team still comes and now everyone is dead. Before coms you might get annoyed but what can you do, it's solo queue. If that same thing happened with coms after giving them a warning, I'd be pretty pissed.
As a note, stuff like the above already can and does happen with Kindred. I run Kindred religiously and the amount of times I've been camped and yet the entire team is there watching or no one comes to get me even though the killer is on the other side of the map is rather frustrating. Those kind of things can piss a person off and with comms, it opens up even more of those possibilities happening.
Then again, maybe I'm just being pessimistic and coms would be a godsend and people would use them properly and not get frustrated with each other.
As a note, my opinion of comms generally comes from 1000's of hours of COD zombies over the years. It's 4 people working together to kill stuff and you get comms. 95% of the time I'm the only one talking. I'll give advice or let people know what's going on and no one listens and it frustrates you. Someone else is on comms? It's little Timmy being a douchebag, someone blaring music and or someone telling you everything you're doing wrong and how to properly play. If zombies didn't have comms I think the majority of my games would have been the same and nothing of value would have been lost.
I'm of the similar opinion here for DBD. I get why people want it and am 50/50 myself but I don't think it'll really change much and if anything it will only serve to make things worse since people tend to do whatever they want anyway.
Again, maybe I'm being pessimistic because of my own experiences. Should DBD have comms even in the worst case they end up being #########, not used and frustrating? Maybe.
-
Here are some of my picks, though honestly I think DBD is an a content enough place for me. I also haven't watched the video.
-General QoL stuff for killers/survivor. Biggest being no random skill check when getting off a gen. Make it work like overcharge.
-Recycle shop to get rid of unused items so you can buy others. No one needs 100's of brown crap. Let us get rid of them and upgrade or switch. This is probably my biggest want and something I think DBD should have had ages ago.
-Shared inventory on survivors. They're just skins, let them share crap. I know it will never happen but it's a pretty big want of mine.
-I would like to see a couple more emotes and some for killer but not a lot. Just very simple things, like a weapon wipe or something. I don't want breakdancing survivors as funny as that would be.
-Separate daily's for killer/survivor. Simple change and should have been a thing already.
-Let us see our MMR. Doesn't have to be shown to anyone else you play with.
-While I don't need any of them, more accessibility stuff is always nice.
-3 killers a year instead of 4. This would allow them to do more testing and maybe even have multiple PTB's.
-New game modes that switch overtime. I don't want straight up added modes but stuff that'll change. This week is prop hunt, next is 2v8, etc. I think doing it that way will keep people coming back more often and BHVR wouldn't have to do all that much bug testing since it'd only be for a week at a time. This would keep it fresh without getting overwhelmed and without taking the majority away from main because they're is too many gamemodes.
-Seed Selector in customs so people can have proper tournaments. The game already has seeds, let people choose them.
-Bots in the main game via DC's as pointed above.
I've seen it mentioned and I'm 50/50 on in game voice coms. I personally don't want it and I understand why people do but one of my main gripes is the toxic nature that comes with it. If you thought this game was toxic already, then boy oh boy would it actually be toxic with coms. Nothing like listening to little Billy scream profanities and death threats at you while you run to unhook him. Just mute him you say? Just turn off endgame chat and messages. Wow, no more toxicity.
On the other end content creators would have a blast milking people for reactions and tbf, sometimes it's hilarious. Also, I think the majority wouldn't even bother using it and it'd just be you talking to yourself so it'd have minimal impact anyway. Like many other voice chat games.
Personally if I had to have it, I'd want proxy chat with killers/survivors both and have it on the new game mode idea above. Not a general feature.
-
I want Chucky more then anything, I'd be fine with most of those on your list though.
-
I've been given a few EGC kills after snowballing early and then deciding to farm instead of killing them. They'll farm and then just wait out the timer nodding or messing around. Never gotten a pity kill as I don't think I've ever straight given up in a match where they would feel the need to.
I do tend to give a lot of mercy escapes, specifically only on Wraith; I use them for farming as well as doing some challenges so I tend to let everyone go most of the time. I've actually done this so much my MMR on him is tanked and I often get brand new players, though I also had a p100 today for some reason. At this point I've accepted it since it makes challenges easier and I don't have to sweat in the least. I do my challenge, 2-hook everyone while pretending to play bad and then mess around and let them all go.
As survivor I have given kills to farming killers and I've thought about it a couple times on killers that have given up but most of the time those turn into farming matches anyway. I've also been killed to EGC multiple times while either looking for Glyphs or doing other challenges which could be considered a mercy kill to them since I would have otherwise escaped.
While not quite the same, I have on multiple occasions given items to killers who didn't get a kill and have had the same happen to me which I can appreciate most of the time.
On the opposite end of things there were a couple times I've been given a pity escape and instead chose to die, not wanting the mercy.
None of the above are all that common in hard-fought matches though. It's almost always via farming or when there is only 1 left.
-
Just unlucky.
One of my bloodwebs yesterday had 2 green medkits, 2 gel dressings and another brown and yellow. It's not common to get that of course but at the same time most of my bloodwebs past lvl 10 or so do have at least one.
-
They're definitely bugged as they have a little delay to them. It seems like you have to hit them a little earlier then normal but sometimes that doesn't seem to work either.
I'm holding off on it until they fix it which hopefully will be next patch.
-
It sure can. DBD could have dud killers for years and it'd still probably be fine because everyone likes something and people always have old killers to go back to.

Pretty excited for this. I imagine we will see a little bit of everyone instead of focusing on one or two of the killers.
If I had to guess the storyline, it'll probably be in a trial like setting where backstory flashbacks are slowly filled in among the action to see how the characters got there. Eventually the survivors all die, their memory gets wiped then it repeats with another killer over and over. Probably some background stuff with the campfire, library an whatnot and survivors trying to escape while not in a trial.
At the end they finally manage to escape a trial where you learn it never mattered, their memory gets wiped anyway and they're thrown back into a trial where it teases something different from normal.
I'm also calling it here, we'll see a brand new killer at the end or sprinkled throughout the movie which will then come to the game after its release.
-
There's another post talking about it but I highly highly doubt it. It'd be pretty damn cool if it was true though and it'd probably generate a ton of hype.
Edit: Like the more I think about it the cooler it sounds. They release the chapter, the cutscene is different where it shows the lady hunting down a survivor, her tech starts to malfunction and then an invisible Predator shows up behind her and does her mori on her.
Predator gets an upgraded version of the drones as well as some invisibility power, a gun or something. It'd be cool as hell.

I got the achievement sometime in 2021 with double iri, but wasn't there a bug recently where it was impossible because the last kill never counted? Was that recently that you tried?
It's a console thing, at least for PS. The trophies/achievements are separated into two groups, DBD Part 1 and 2 and a few of them have different requirements as well. Skilled Huntress for example is 100 downs instead of 20.
I'm assuming that's what they're talking about at least.
-
Congrats! Outbreak was awful for sure; no idea what the hell they were thinking with that one. Between me my friend working on it, we went through around 40 or so RPD offerings.
I feel like I'm the only one that thinks Nurse Grab and Evil Incarnate aren't actually that bad, they just seem foreboding more then anything IMO.
I think the worst ones for me were Left for dead, Skilled Huntress, and Taking one for the Team. I'd personally rate them worse then Outbreak but not much worse.
-
Loved everything. Excited to watch some PTB stuff tomorrow.
-
I "main" Nemi for the most part or at least he's my favorite killer to play. I don't play this game a ton though and skill wise I'm pretty meh. I've got a little over 2k hours on Playstation and probably only a few 100 on Nemi if that. Likely over half the hours are spread out to survivor and then the other killers. I'm probably not the Nemi "main" you're looking for but here's how I tend to play.
I tend to use Lethal, CoB, NWtH, and BBQ nowadays. Before the current meta I used a combo of Stbfl, Agi, Pain Res and BBQ. Still use that sometimes as well though I've leaned towards Stbfl being a bit of a trap on Nemi since it can make you play differently.
I don't think I've ever hardcore tunneled off of 5 gens unless I knew the group beforehand which has happened exactly once that I can recall. Went against the same group back to back and I knew they were really good (got destroyed in my first match) so I played as sweaty as I could. Oddly they threw super hard when I started to tunnel and they only got a two gens done. It felt like a different team altogether when I hardcore tunneled.
I tend not to take the game overly serious so most of the time I don't really care if I win or lose. I'd prefer to win obviously but if I lose, I take it on the chin, maybe a 5 minute break if it was a sweaty loss and then I'm back in it.
I will tunnel, slug, and hard patrol if it's late game and I'm feeling tryhard-y but I'll usually take chase and leave. Even when the gens are all done, a gate is 99'd and I've got someone on hook. I'll sometimes just take another chase and hope I can down them before they get to a gate. I've given up a lot of single kills doing that and I don't really mind. I enjoy that a lot more then just camping a guy to death at endgame, especially if it's been a good game otherwise. That said, I certainly have done it if I'm feeling sweaty and really want a kill.
-
I'll take this over skill check Ruin, Ruin/Undying and old DS anyday. Back then gens didn't even get touched until the totems were cleansed and by then the killer would have a few hooks and still have other regression to help.
Compared to that I'm more then fine with the gen kick stuff, especially if you're with a SWF. Solo, yeah it can be a pain but the biggest offender seems to be Eruption so if that got nerfed, I don't think it'd be that bad tbh.
