Shout out to @Orion, @Sluzzy @Pulsar, @GoodBoyKaru, @GentlemanFridge, @CountOfTheFog and @GeneralV just to name a few.
I've always been mostly a lurker with the occasional post, but it's sad to see this place go. -
I've always thought a version of Spasmodic Breath (lose power after blink hit but normal move speed) should be basekit, and then give her some buff or ability while in that mode to compensate.
This would nerf her, give her a reason to use chase perks or perks she otherwise would never use, and still keep the general idea behind her the same.
Otherwise, if it's just simple changes, the blindness during blink charge is a pretty good suggestion I'd be for. -
Seems like this is only bugged for some people or maybe version specific? I checked PSN and people are still unlocking most of the gen/map specific trophies; as recent as this month even.
There are a few recent bug reports of it on Beta ATM though. -
Changes from person to person.
Most people I've seen tend to use the,
0-1k Loss
2k Draw
3-4 Win
Hatch is a win, draw or loss depending on who you ask. I consider it a draw.
Some survivors base it on if they escape, others base it on pips. Some people go off of BP and others base is on fun factor. It varies a lot. -
Not really no. That sort of thing bothered me a bit when I first started playing, but after 3000-ish hours I rarely care about that stuff anymore. If anything, it makes the game more interesting and entertaining when people do dumb #########. Keeps it fresh IMO.
-
I don't mind the idea, but I also don't really have a problem with mass slugging. It's boring, but you can still play and fight back.
I take more issue with slugging for the 4k with two people left since the game is over at that point. I think in that scenario, downed survivors should be given a weaker version of Unbreakable.
As far as general slugging, if there had to be a change, I would make a weaker version of We're Gonna Live Forever basekit. So something like,
1 Dying Survivor - 0% Global Healing Speed
2 Dying Survivor - 50% Global Healing Speed
3 Dying Survivor - 100% Global Healing Speed
This lets survivors reset faster the more people slugged and really only effects mass slugging. EGC would also remove this bonus effect. I doubt anything like this would actually come to the game, but I could see an Invocation perk similar to this eventually. -
I still haven't gotten even one email yet. The last email I got was about Jason on the 15th or 16th but that one didn't have a code.
-
Trapper and Huntress, not because I find going against them unfun, but because the next match I spend about half of it hearing a phantom lullaby or still looking for traps.
Other then that, I only dislike going against a killer if I've had them multiple games in a row. I enjoy the variety. -
They may have since changed how they design them now, but they used to go by the this philosophy,
-Beginner Perk
-Crazy/Wild/Niche Perk
-Meta Perk
They have a pool of perk ideas and try to work them down into those three categories. It doesn't always end up working out that way but that's how they used to do it.
-
I've always said, make a version of the Spasmodic Breath add-on basekit. This would keep her more or less the same for blinks, give her a reason to use chase perks, and make her more fun to play against for the average person while also nerfing her.
It won't ever happen, but that's the change I'd love to see if they ever changed her. I don't really have too much of an issue with her though. -
I played a couple matches about an hour ago, PS5, with no issues.
-
I had a few during the event but they were doing it just to be dicks. They'd slug everyone then hump you on the ground which always makes me chuckle. You also get people like that in 1v4 now and then but it's pretty rare from my experience.
Otz released a video using Deathbound and slugging with it today. Was an interesting watch since it showed how strong anti-slug can be at countering slugging at 5 gens.
People do love to copy him so it could be that or just coincidence. Might be good to bring exponential or other anti-slug for a bit until people get sick of it. -
I like to use Bone Clapper on Wraith and excessively bing-bong in chase all match. I usually pair it with the add-on that makes you cloak faster so it makes noise quicker.
More fun for me then the survivors though. In fact, I had a person message me once and tell me where I could shove the bell lol.

And how you proof it?
If there is hardcore tunneling that isnt bannable (logicaly because killer is doing what he supposed to and thats killing survivor even when he is using shortcut) than how can this be used, you would need like record the whole game even when spectating to have enough proof.
I would be surprised if devs banned for this more than cheaters (which they dont ban or it takes eges).
That's what I'm saying. You wouldn't be able to prove it, unless maybe the person was streaming and said as such or they said something in end game chat. Even then, I don't know if that would be considered reportable and is such a hyper-specific situation, I shouldn't have even brought it up.
I was just yapping. -

I don’t think you have that right. If killer allows some survs to farm and kills others that isn't breaking the rules. It is effectively tunneling which is not reportable. The only time anyone is breaking the rules in this situation is if the farming survivors actively help killer find the one who won't engage with the farming because that's workimg with the opposite team.
The latter example, forcing someone to stay in the game when they don't want to farm and refusing to kill them, that IS breaking the rules because you're refusing to engage in normal gamrplay AND are actively preventing them from being able to progress to next match. You're technically sandbagging, especially if you prevent them finishing gens.
Tagging dude who asked the question too just to prevent misinformation
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069519#Comment_4069519
Yeah, it's just as you said. I meant more, the killer singles one person out and kills them specifically because they didn't want to farm. Not, sacrificing one or two out and farming with the rest. I certainly could have clarified that better.
Edit: I cleaned up my post. I was yapping. -

I’m sorry to tag you but I was hoping for clarification on this as I want to make sure I’m not breaking the rules. Are you saying it’s reportable to farm entirely, or are you saying it’s reportable to farm and then get upset if one person doesn’t and then kill them?
I ask because I love to farm as killer specifically during events, where everyone works together as a team for a bunch of event quests and gets lots of blood points. Is what I’m doing not allowed?
Farming normally is fine. It's only not okay if you're forcing someone to farm. There are a few posts of the mods saying as such so you're perfectly fine!
If someone is trying to do gens and wants nothing to do with it, and then you single them out by slugging, or killing them while not doing that to the others, that's reportable.
If I plan to farm during an event, I tend to play a match out normally, 2-hooking everyone and then I mess around. I find this has the best reception as the survivors get a normal-ish game and everyone gets plenty of bloodpoints.
Edit: The only thing I'm not sure on is if a single player didn't want to farm, and you 2-hooked them, and then let them do whatever after. I've had that happen to a survivor teammate a couple times.
-
I think it'd be fine if it only shows up once the first chase starts. That way it mimics a SWF callout. If it can only be based on time, then I think a minute in is plenty. At that point, you'll almost always know who the killer is.
Right at the start it is a no go since it hurts stealth and trap killers. -
I almost never see the perk and when I do, it usually doesn't make a difference but it has a lot potential. It's kind of like Unbreakable in a way.
I worked on some adepts today for a buddy of mine and when I got to Taurie, Shoulder arguably turned the match from a loss to a 4-man out.
It was against an Oni, I was slugged once and never hooked while my 3 teammates were 2-hooked. I Shoulder'd the person on hook and they went and took aggro away from another guy giving him time to run away.
From there, we got the rest of the gens done and one of the people looped the Oni long enough for everyone to out. It was a TTV as well so I got to watch the match back from their perspective which was really fun!
I use Shoulder every now and then but I think this was the only time I got such good value out of it and that was doing an adept. -

This problem happened to me with the last round of Stranger Things Drops. This is what worked for me at the time:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0KJ00BFJTE8A/image.png
I don't know if it's the same issue, so this might not work, but it's probably worth trying.
This worked for me, thanks.
I didn't even know there was another round of Twitch drops until I saw this post. I wish they would mention it more often when they do them. -_- -
I used to do most of them as they released but then stopped with last few or so, only doing what I needed to max out the rift. I still work on them as I do the current rifts but I don't really pay much attention to them or go out of my way.
I probably only have like 30 or so challenges to do, if that. 1-13 maybe 14 are all done with only a few challenges needed here and there from the others.
I still keep up with 100% achievements every chapter. The only one I need currently is the Don't Open Dead Inside for completing the gen on that map. Since it's release, I have yet to get it a single time as survivor and have used like 30 map offerings. I've got it like 6 or 7 times randomly as killer though. -_- -
I think some of it depends on the killer but I feel Shadow is the most consistent one to get value and can sometimes get you cheeky grabs. Brute is also good if you play a killer that has to break a lot of pallets, otherwise it's pointless.
Fearmonger feels decent on Chucky since you're getting the 5% haste a lot due to his size but otherwise feels meh. Enforcer feels the weakest unless in you're in coms since I never notice the lunge increase otherwise. -
I've played a few games now and it takes more getting used to then anything IMO; messing with sensitivity can also help a lot. I have both PC and Console and it feels far better on PC without a doubt but once you play a few matches on controller you start to get used to it.
He's certainly a bit harder to play then many other killers but it's nowhere near the struggle of Pinhead/Trickster on controller. Considering how strong he is in general, I don't think he needs any special console support; he's plenty playable. -
Good question. A mod commented in that thread so I don't think there was anything wrong with it. Maybe people started to get heated and they closed it? I don't know who the OP was but if it was a newer account and they edited it then it will have been sent to be reviewed.

When I made this discussion, it uploaded instantly with no issues. My other post was longer than this one and it popped up a message when I tried to repost nearly 2 weeks ago.

Not sure if it's because of the holidays or what, but this really has killed any urge I had to come up with any ideas for this game. The post was about Survivors in 2v8 and I was working on Killers in 2v8 until I noticed this. I'm putting it on hold until I figure this out or until I get annoyed and just give up on this game. The latter is starting to become more likely.
I think just give it some time for your discussions. They're still looking for mods right now so I don't think they have many people to work on approvals.
In the mean time, doing some normal posts around the forums to boost your post count so they no longer need to be approved could also work. -
New accounts/accounts with small amounts of posts get flagged on their automated system to protect from spam if you do certain things. If you post too much or you edit your posts, they'll be flagged for a Mod to look at to make sure they're not spam.
Once a mod looks at them and approves them, they'll show up again. They don't really work the forums much on the weekend so your posts probably won't be back until Monday or so. The same thing happened to me when I first joined. If you post more, just make sure not to edit them at all after the fact.
I'm not sure how long before the system stops flagging edits, I think it's based on total post count? For me it was around 50-100 or so when I noticed I could edit. I don't 100% remember though. -
Honestly, I think most of the killers would make decent horror movies.
Unknown would be my first choice though.
-
How long should a chase be to be seen as good? (1 Gen? 5 Gens? 1 Stun?)
Depends on the killer, if you're first chase, map, etc. There is no good answer for that and is more in the moment. You could have a 5 minute chase but if no gens we're done cause you looped around the 3-gen for those 5 minutes then it was a bad chase. Conversely if you only had like a 15 second chase but it let your team finish the last gen then it was a good chase.
How many hooks happen before the first Survivor dies in a game? (3? 8?Depends on how sweaty you want to be. I 2 hook everyone because I like to mess around and don't care if I lose. Other people might want someone dead at 3-5 hooks. It also depends a lot on gen progress and how good the survivors you're going against.
How long should a new thing (Killer/Perk/Item) exist before the devs touch it? (Instant/1 week? Never?)Depends on how broken and public outcry. If it's really bad then as soon as possible. If it's something strong/weak but not overly so then I think a couple weeks to let it settle before making changes if any.
What do you see as a win? (4K/4E? I escape?)Having fun and getting a lot of BP. I don't take DBD very seriously so I don't really care if I escape or even get a kill. As long as I get to have one or two fun moments in a match then I consider it a win.
More objectively, I feel 0-1k is a loss, 2k is a tie, 3-4k is a win and this applies to both sides. I don't consider individual escapes as a win since it's a team based game.
What should happen if devs change something? (Make it useless?/Fix numbers till it hits the sweet spot?, Change it completly?)Sweet spot is the best case scenario. I like when they nerf over used add-ons and make them partial basekit. What sucks is when they nerf add-ons without any compensation because the background data shows overuse; even if said add-on is just okay.
Changing it completely should be a last resort. -
Anyone got pics? I don't think I'll be able to get on today and would love to see some of the changes! ^_^

You still message people on Playstation @CountOfTheFog?? How are you not banned already? Sony will literally ban you for the dumbest stuff, their moderation team never looks at context and their report system is easily abusable by trolls
I've found as long as you don't swear or say any trigger words then you're pretty good and don't have to worry. Especially with dbd, I never say kill or killer or anything like that. I've been reported a couple times but never had anything happen.
I agree they should check context more but that's what's worked for me so far. The fact any kind of swearing can be reported drives me nuts though. There was actually a guy that kept messaging me, trying to get me to say any kind of swear just so he could report me.
On topic, they have changed the void hooks to 4 and lowered the overall amount need for the 4th reward which is nice. -
Edit: Wow, this thread changed topics fast. Prolly best to just move on future readers.
-
I didn't get an email code yet butI was able to do my twitch drops already. They did break on me for a little bit but they came back like an hour or so later.Edit: I rechecked my email and I did get the charm code. I must have deleted the email accidently.

There hasn't been a new realm since Singularity released so there have been no new toolboxes to look for.
Assuming the wiki is up-to-date then new Lampkin, new Ormand and Toba are the only maps with toolboxes left. It's possible they simply forgot to include them when they updated Lampkin and Ormand since in those maps it feels like it'd be easy to find.
Toba should have one but no one's found it afaik. When Toba first released there was quite a bit of people searching but it either doesn't exist or is so well hidden that most people gave up. -
I'm pretty happy with the length tbh. It makes it a lot easier to grind out since they'll be more events which means less of a need for dailies. This last one was awful as a more casual player. I had to do dailies almost everyday in order to finish it. No idea why milestones are gone though; assuming it's a bug.
I like some of the skins but wish there was more of them. The recolors and the bare bones free side leaves quite a bit to be desired.
Pretty meh rift overall though. I think my favorite thing is the cat badge. -
I'm level 5 across the board and I play basically 1 match a day just for the dailies or sometimes 5-6 matches if I have a friend on. I also skipped some days here and there.
I just hit 100 like last week or so. Compared to last time where I had finished some milestones with others being level 8-9, I really felt the difference. I hit tier 100 last time with like a month and change to go.
Right now, dailies are too important to skip for more casual people and I feel it needs to be tweaked. If anyone comes into the rift late, they're screwed unless they play a ton of extra games. -
If I remember right, they said in an interview or maybe a post that they design the three perks so that one is niche, one is a general use, and another is more meta-ish.
This a was couple years ago I wanna say so who knows if they still follow that or not. Some perks are certainly questionable; that basement crow perk being a top contender. -
As someone who plays both roles I like the general idea behind most of it but until we see actual numbers, it's hard to say if it's going to be awful, good or meh. We've had plenty of times where people were doom-posting over nothing without knowing the numbers and such.
I think the worst part is the Myers changes. Switching between tiers is great but giving him Pig dash is way out there. I don't even care about more dashslop as people call it, I just don't think it fits Myers. I always thought Myers should get more effects on survivors that he's stalked with the obsession getting special attention or bonus effects. -

Yeah, 55 sounds better.
But still, if ALL the previous tomes didn't require you to complete all the challenges, why they changed that?
If I had to guess, probably something to do with player retention and engagement.
What makes it worse is I don't think you can get the rewards after the rift is gone. At least with the tomes you could always go back to get them. :/ -
No, they don't count nor were they supposed to last rift either.
This was actually a "bug" where those quests were counting but somewhere towards the end of last rift, they fixed it so they don't count anymore. This actually caused some extra bug reports since it broke people's counters for those who didn't have the last reward yet. They did last second lower the requirement to 33(?) so people only had to play one game to get it.
For this rift, they fixed it properly and they don't count for progress. They intend for you do complete every quest in order to get the final reward.
For the record, this is silly and 3 quests a week absolutely should count since it's very confusing. If they want people to do every quest then just make last reward requirement 55. -

But thats deceiving and not my fault
Indeed. I'm hoping they just give everyone the banner or at the very minimum an extension.
-
There is a bug report on this but for those that still don't know, sometime back they changed the "complete 3 quests this week" to no longer count progress; apparently they were never intended to count in the first place.
They also removed the progress that these quests gave but it broke the counter. So if say it said something like 43/48, after the change you were actually at something like 39/48 but the counter doesn't properly reflect this. If you do enough quests to pass your old number, it will start to update properly. So if your actual number after the change was 39 and you did 4 more quests that weren't the weekly one, it would finally update to 44 and work properly.
What this effectively means is that if you wanna get the 48/48 banner you have to do every quest since there are exactly 48 quests not including the weekly ones. Apparently they always intended for people to do every quest in order to get the reward.
Hopefully they extend the rift since I don't think many people know about this being the issue. That or just give everyone the banner.
TL;DR You have to do every quest if you want the 48/48 banner. -
@dwolfbanner55 said:
I agree, they were counting but not anymore. Mine says 43/48 completed but in this scenario I technically only completed 40/48 and my 43 hasnt changed since I need to do 4 to update to 44. They are not gonna update everyones actual number thats bad customer service lol. If you were able to finish before the fix then you got lucky of not having to complete all the quests which is what is needed now after the fix. The Nocturnal Petals banner has become so infamous. Just give it to us please, we did nothing wrong lol.
Yup, I just tested this to confirm my suspicion. I did 3-4 challenges today with only 1 challenge left and my progress went from 46/48 to 47/48. It only changed after I was on the last challenge.
100% the counter not updating to take in account the changes to 3 quest(s) a week no longer counting to the total. -
@Hex_Llama said:
I'm stuck at 46/48 and, when I manage to do something that's NOT a completion quest, the count still doesn't increase. For example, tonight, I knocked out an old quest to hook four survivors in a single match and I got all of the rewards for completing that quest and it gave a check mark but my count stayed at 46. It happened with another quest earlier in the week as well — can't quite remember, but I think I had to fully deplete a med kit or something. Got the quest, but the count stayed the same.
If had to make a wild guess at what's happening by going from the above responses, there was some "bug" where the complete 3 quests this week were counting towards the 48 completion total when it wasn't supposed to.
Eventually they fixed this so they no longer counted and took away the progress those quests were giving but in doing so it broke the counter and it no longer updates. So while it might say 46/48 it's actually at something like 42/48 and will update properly once the person does every quest since it's working in the backend, the counter just isn't updating to reflect this.
This is of course a big assumption on my end but since people are completing it by doing every quest, I'd assume this is what's happening. It seems like people who did enough quests before this "fix" don't have to worry since they already got the reward. -_-Edit: This is exactly what's happening. I only have one challenge left now after playing a bit and my progress updated to 47/48 from 46/48.

Hello folks! Coming back to this thread, if you're currently encountering an issue with Rift Pass Completion Quests not progressing, I would encourage you to reach out to our Support team. While the dev team is investigating this issue, I don't currently have a timeline to share for a fix.
For this reason, getting your ticket in with Support helps make sure your specific issue is noted on their end. Given they're expecting an increase in tickets, there may be delays in getting a response, but rest assured that they are being received.
Thank you so much for your patience!
Do you still want more player ID's to pass along or is reaching out to support fine for now?

This has blocked me from finishing both the regular rift and the event rift. I have 31 Twisted Masquerade quests done, and yet don't have 6 quests done and has been stuck on 5/6 as I cleared multiple quests, and have 54 Rift Pass quests done, yet only 45 are counted, likewise not progressing at all. Fantastic work, team.
The event one is worded weirdly. It means complete 6 quests from part 5, not all quests. If you do the 15 trial quest then it should complete like normal.
-
@ThatRyanB said:
Popping in with a quick update that the team's investigation into this is still ongoing, but very much something they're looking into.
Out of interest so I can get them even more intel, for those of your encountering this, do you see your quest completion totals increase when you complete "gameplay" quests (i.e. sacrifice xx Survivors)? What about when you complete "quest progression" quests (i.e. complete xx quests)? I'd be interested to know if you're getting different results between these types of quests.
Yes to both of those. Afaik all the other types of quests work and award properly outside of the "complete 48 rift pass quests" which doesn't progress.
I played yesterday completing a bunch of various quests and they all worked, including the event ones. -
Same here. I'm at 46/48 with 53 quests done. :/
PS5 -
You don't lose anything that you wouldn't already lose if you finished the match normally outside of a little BP for hooking/struggling. Any challenges that require trial completion still count even if you abandon. You also get match XP like normal.
MMR is up in the air. I assume it works based on how they worded it, so in the killer losing scenario, the killer would lose MMR based on survivors left. Not 100% on this though as they were a little vague on that.

One of the daily logins was 100 Rift Fragments as I remember letting my buddy know about it. I believe it was Friday's.

It's very hackable.
Back when the prestige system first released it was actually a great way to tell if the person was a cheater. I remember a couple people mentioning seeing lvl 100s like a day or two after the system came out.
