  • Congrats!

I was pretty worried about that one when I saw it so I made sure to play a bunch when he released. The thought of a newcomer trying to get this maybe a year or two from now is awful.

  • Maybe it wasn't actually a server kick but was mislabeled as one? I've been kicked by the servers three or four times in a session before and never had penalty from it.

i think dbd has variety of all different types of skins BUT skimpy skins are highly like…. how should i say? emphasized… popular put out in spotlight more than other skins.

This is exactly why I'm surprised they don't lean into doing more of them. What they do have you see around quite a bit. Shirtless David, Vittorio and Renato are all fairly common, the bra cosmetic from Sable, the yellow shorts for Thalita, the hooked on you huntress/spirit skins.

I'm honestly surprised they don't do more sexy outfits considering how good they must sell.

  • Excluding Spirit I'd actually say DBD doesn't have all that many skimpy skins. There's some sexy skins here and there but not really all that many overly skimpy ones.

I actually think it's interesting DBD doesn't do more sexy outfits. Right now the most we get is some panty shots with the skirts, a few shirtless male skins and the occasional sorta swimsuit.

DBD is very tame when it comes to that sort of stuff IMO.

The skilled hunter on ps atleast, still requires 100 downs from 24m away.

Looking into it, it seems like it's mislabeled on PS4. The PS5 version shows it as 100 while the PS4 version says it's only 20. I'm guessing the 20 is an error and it still requires 100 which is a shame. :/

  • I'm not sure if this still works with Left For Dead but it doesn't need to be the final gen but just a gen after everyone is dead. This might have been a bug and has since fixed but I remember seeing people mention this was how they got it. Last alive, pop any gen, killer closes hatch, escape through door. It didn't have to be the final gen, any would work as long as you finished it after everyone was dead. Here's hoping it still works that way.

I also have a couple challenges to add that I didn't think were great. You got most of the annoying ones though, I agree 100%

    Skilled Huntress on Console (Old)

This used to require 100 downs from 24 meters which was an insane ask. I believe it has been since been lowered to 20 but that was fairly recent; maybe this year. I got this when it was still 100 and it was a pain, even trying to farm it didn't make it any better. It's still in the top 5 rarest trophies I have.

    Taking One for the Team

Requires you to take 250 protection hits from recently unhooked teammates. It's not difficult but can easily be one of the most grindy things in the game.

Edit: Honorable mention also goes to old Evil Incarnate since people could dc and ruin the entire attempt. Now with bots it's far easier; especially if you use the Meat Plant backpack strat™.

  • I mean, yeah the 80$ a year for PS+ is rather annoying but I would hope you're not getting it just to play DBD. At that point I would just go to PC if that's your only game you play online. PS+ also comes with a few free games a month and at least for me, I get my monies worth out of it. I play quite a few of the games and more often then not there is at least a couple a year I was going to buy anyway. Deadspace is coming this month which is exciting as that was one my wishlist'd games.

But yeah, if you're getting PS+ or whatever the Xbox equivalent is only for DBD, then I would either switch to PC or save up now and then to try and buy one.

  • Tombstone I can agree on; it's rather boring and I think it should be changed a bit. Scratched Mirror however is one of the best add-ons in the game for the fun factor. It's entire purpose is meant for jumpscares and memes. People who use it to try and sweat a win are using it wrong, full stop.

The achievement also isn't that bad if you use the backpack strat on Meat Plant.

  • I don't like the look of that cactus if I'm being honest.

  • Haven't thought about that movie in a while either. Personally I'd prefer our first ghost ghost from Fatal Frame but I wouldn't be upset to see one from 13 Ghosts.

Were there any other good IP's on the survey? I didn't get that question. :/

  • I don't really know much about FNAF games but isn't the only adult human we see Vanessa? It's most likely her unless they use Mike/Vanessa from the live action movie.

I don't really see them pulling someone from the books or aging a child character up when they have others to choose from.

  • I feel like people are over-reacting personally.

The Skull Merchant changes could have been handled better I agree but it's also not the end of the world.

There is almost zero chance Zanshin and Corrective Action go live as they are. No idea why people are talking about them as if they're already in the game.

The Mori system could have been handled better but it's also not a big deal. People talk about photobombing and what not as if it was a super common thing. I don't think I've even seen a Mori in months unless I ran one for a challenge and none had photobombs. They're basically extinct.

Distortion was killed which is a shame but they might find some middle ground come live. That is the point of PTB's after all.

Everything else in the patch was either a good change or so minor it's not worth mentioning.

I agree some stuff could and should have been handled better but all the doom-posting is way overblown.

  • Who doesn't want to pet the doggo?!

In seriousness it'll prolly pass in time. Right now Dracula is new so the dog pets will be common. Once he settles I think it'll be about the same as Pig, maybe a little more.

Ghostface is also a ton of fun to meme with. :D

While I agree, you can kind of see what's happened. The killer got 2 hooks, and he's Demogorgon who is probably one of the better killers for brute forcing The Game and its many god pallets, and the survivors haven't even had to use their medkits yet. There's no way the killer can secure even 1 kill. They can screw up the save and accidentally hook trade like 6 more times, and will still be able to get the free endgame save with body blocks for the 4-man out. I think against this team, any killer would have the same result, except for Nurse.

I mean, there is no way to know without a video. I'm all for an open discussion over it but without a video, it's all speculation.

Did the killer get 1 hook at the start and then commit a chase to Nea for 5 gens? Possible. Maybe the killer was AFK for 3 gens and then got both hooks towards endgame.

Maybe the killer wasn't serious when playing or they were straight up bad and missed multiple shreds. Maybe the killer brought The Game and wanted to eat pallets for a challenge.

Without a video to analyze, this discussion really doesn't have much going for it outside of, Survivor Stronk.

I'd love for OP to actually link the video because it could open up far more discussion.

  • Where is the match so we can see it please? Not much discussion to be had on this topic from a picture alone.

  • Couple things,

    1. Naming and Shaming isn't allowed so the pic should be edited or removed to not show names of the cheaters.
    2. If you want to report someone after reporting them in-game use this website.
  • I don't really agree with the Mori is now a BP bonus either unless it's like a lot a lot.

As far as Mori-ing everyone you can still use Devour Hope or the Rancor/Game Afoot combo. Not as good as an ebony but still possible.

  • I think doing a little of both would be nice for distortion.

    • Survivor Starts with 2 tokens of Distortion
    • Survivors gain a token when starting a chase

This would allow you to have a couple stacks but also make it hard for the people who only hide. I think this would be fair.

  • I doubt they're getting banned because of cheaters spoofing them when they are very specific with how this stuff has to be reported. This happened last year or maybe the year before as well with cheaters impersonating people and everyone was freaking out.

If they can change their player ID to match others then sure, that's a problem but if not then I think the bans have to do with something else or they're outlier cases.

Edit: Also just realized this was a bit of a necro. 😕 Are cheaters making the rounds again or something?

Im reading that as it only applies to that method with madness T3 as it has a direct effect on the survivors ability to do gens. That would be holding game hostage as no one can do gens even if they tried and no one can be killed. But if the killer is patroling gens not going for chases and only attacks when they go on gens, that's not reportable because the survivors have to option to do gens and the killer would attack. Refusing to down someone that is capable of doing gens still not taking the game hostage, bit unnecessary but not reportable.

It's only taking the game hostage if 1 side refuses to do their objective while preventing the other side from doing theirs such as killers blocking someone in the corner preventing them from doing gens and refusing to kill them. Or when survivors refuse to do gens in 2 v 1 situations while hiding preventing the killer from accomplishing their objective.

Pretty much yeah, Doctor is about the only one who could do it. I think the only other scenario would be if there are 2 people left, 1 is AFK and the killer keeps grabbing the survivor off the gen and refuses to let them work on it and doesn't hook. Though that's also not really 3-genning at that point either.

I do agree everything else is fair game though. I was just bringing up what the other guy was mostly talking about.

A killer patroling 3 gens ignoring chase isn't holding game hostage. If survivors refuse to do gens regardless of the likelihood they will be hit or hooked, it's the survivors that are holding the game hostage by not doing their objective.

They're talking more if the killer refuses to hook/down when given chances and only tries to extend the game. There's a screenshot somewhere of this, I'll see if I can find it.

    Forum Screenshot 3 Gen.jpg

Edit: I found the screenshot like a second later. It's a lot harder to do nowadays with the gen kick limit and all but it's still a thing.

Hoader is a bit redundant with Weave and Human Greed.

It's for the 2 extra chests so extra human greed value.

  • Billy is the biggest one for me. Back when I first started the game in 2018, I tried Billy but hated him. I tried him again with the first rework and still hated him. This last rework I gave him another go and fell in love and now he's one of the killers I play most.

I've recently been trying to add a new killer or two to my play roster every couple months or so. Recently I've been messing around with Spirit. I'm god awful when it comes to tracking sounds but it has been pretty fun.

I might get back into playing Nemesis again as well. I used to play him all the time but kind of fell off. With the buffs I'm looking forward to messing around with him once more to see if I can reignite the passion I used to have with him.

It happens a lot where I just kind of lose interest in a killer. Demo, Oni, Myers and Doctor I also used to love but they just fell off for me. I might give them a go in the future though.

  • Wraith: I'd probably go bing my bong a while, maybe spook some people.

Feng: I'd go diddle myself; who wouldn't.

  • This is my own little list when it comes slugging, IMO of course.

    • Slugging after a down if you see someone; like in the above clip: Perfectly fine even if it leads to a 4-man slug
    • Slugging at EGC or 1-2 gens left to apply pressure: Perfectly fine
    • Slugging because of a perk; DS, Power Struggle, etc.: Perfectly fine
    • Slugging at 5 gens: Annoying but ok
    • Slugging for the 4k: Annoying but ok
    • Slugging one or the entire team to purposely watch them bleed out: Annoying and while technically ok by the rules, it does make the person a bit of an ass.
  • Mine was Chucky before he finally made it and now I don't really have anything in particular.

Scooby Doo would probably be my dark horse pick. If I remember right, I think they said they tried a couple years back to get it but it was a no go. Might have been in one of the interviews or here on the forums. I also might be misremembering it for something else so don't 100% quote me on that.

Just skins would be pretty great. This is still one of my favorite dbd videos.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s93_3XPxPTw&ab_channel=AdaBuilder
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. When I first saw the teaser I thought they were adding a kid and couldn't believe it.

When you look at her in-game by herself she looks okay but when side side with other people or at certain angles she just seems off.

Might be the clothes as well. Just something off about the model.

  • Without video, it's impossible to say. There are so many perks an situations that you'd need a video for anyone here to really confirm your suspicions. Not being able to catch someone doesn't always mean their cheating.

It's always best to rewatch if possible before making a call since in the moment, things tend to look worse then they are.

  • I don't think the age rating means much for DBD since it doesn't really do much in the way of R18 stuff.

There is almost no nudity outside of the in-game files, the lore is dark but you don't really see it gameplay wise; similar to FNAF, the blood and gore is very minimal outside of some Moris which while some are graphic; no one even uses them.

For an R18 game DBD is very very tame. Even the hooking isn't gore-y or anything. It's just a scream and no blood, same when you get hit.

I'm not really a fan of FNAF but the age thing I don't think is an issue at all.

As you put it, how the communities are going to interact is the more pressing concern in my mind.

  • Not bannable and no reason to ban it because it'd cause more issues then it'd fix.

If it was banned then killers would just do it from the front. That gets banned? Side-to-side, in a circle, infinity sign, from far away, etc. It would just spiral down and then you'd have an uproar over survivor BM since killer BM got banned.

It's important to not be overly defined on the rules as that starts to create a line and once you have a line people will get as close as they can without crossing. It's the same reason there is no designated time limit for survivors hiding or killer body-blocking someone.

People who see it as legit SA need to take a step back. Just like tbagging isn't SA neither is humping. They're both cringe-y at times but at the end it's just simple BM.

  • Getting BM'd on doesn't really bother me at all and most of the time the person doing it isn't very good either. I usually return a little BM back for fun and it's all harmless.

Do watch out for the skilled BM user who's doing it to keep your attention off weak links though. I've seen killers lose matches cause of them.

When the BM'ers rage afterwards that's the best part. Seeing someone get so upset over something that doesn't matter is hilarious to me. It's like when you see a little kid freaking out over something simple like their block tower fell. Same exact energy and just as funny.

  • I'd be fine, happy even with a weaker unbreakable at 2 left in order to discourage slugging. You could even bring back the finisher mori if they do down the last 2.

I highly doubt we'll get that though. :/

  • I'm fine with the yellow mori becoming basekit and all but I think the moris should be something other then a simple BP bonus.

Maybe an entirely new effect of some kind.

  • I use Distortion purely for SWF info and while it makes me sad it's going to be nerfed, I can also understand why.

I think @stanheights idea is a very fair alternative. It nerfs the stealthy players while not really hurting the info people. Great suggestion.

  • I think they'll prolly tune down the overdrive as it is kinda insane but I hope they keep the turning. I'd also be fine for higher cooldown on misses/hits.

Honestly as long as they don't do anything too major I think Billy will be fine regardless.

  • Something I noticed which is a little weird is my killer queues with a friend have been consistently 8 minutes, like right on the dot.

I got out the google stopwatch and every game from around ten have been an 8 minute wait. We've actually been using it as timer to know how long to mess around before coming back.

Did they change something with the wait times when you're with KYF? In solo they definitely felt longer but I didn't time them.

Edit: Actually queue times might just be getting better. My last two matches were 7:30 and about 7 respectively.

  • @UndeddJester said:

Is that true for you? In my experience and listening to the voices in the forums, 2vs8 needs far more survivors, because survivors are focusing on 1vs4,meaning more Killers are needed there...

Has there been a sudden massive uptick of killers overall with the release of 2vs8? 🤨

I have to agree with Krazzik there. My killer queue times in 1v4 were about 5 minutes compared to the normal 30 seconds if that. Queue times are not great for killer at all, from my experience.

  • I think the average queue is slightly more survivor sided. I've played about 20 matches or so and escaped in more then half of them. Quite a few where we lost were just bad teammates not doing gens or messing around with the broken map to go outside the walls. Also had some matches with really bad killers that were a curbstomp.

I only had one match with a really really good Huntress/Nurse combo. Only two gens got done with everyone dead and they were insane with their Blinks/Hatchets. Both p100 streamers but I can't remember who they were; not big names.

I had a few decent games where both sides put up a fight and it felt good.

At a high level I really couldn't say which side it favors. I'm way too casual to have any opinion on that sort of thing.

  • Okay I'm going to go to town. Trying to be semi-realistic so I kept them fairly simple and unimaginative for the most part. I also didn't do any licensed characters since we're unlikely to get all of them.

    Hag

    • Innate: More traps, faster setting, traps remain even after a teleport (they must be destroyed by survivor)
    • Team: Teammate can also teleport to an activated trap

    Doctor

    • Innate: Longer/wider range, bigger AEO shock
    • Team: While within 16m of teammate passive static will build up with 60 meters ( kind of like old doctor)

    Clown

    • Innate: More bottles, bigger gas area that lasts longer, yellow speed doesn't effect survivors
    • Team: Yellow bottles also effect your teammate with a longer lasting haste

    Spirit

    • Innate: Global phasing, louder survivors while in phase, longer lasting phase
    • Team: While phasing within 16 meters of a teammate they will disappear

    Legion

    • Innate: Longer chase power, get slightly faster on each hit, needs to hit 6 survivors to down
    • Team: Teammate can also see killer instinct of any survivor the legion can

    Plague

    • Innate: Survivors do not need a fountain to cleanse themselves of sickness but can instead self-cleanse; medics can cleanse themselves/others faster. After 4 cleanses Plague will automatically get Corrupt purge. Infected objects stay infected for longer.
    • Team: When a survivor is downed, all surviors within both killers terror radius will scream

    Oni

    • Innate: Sloppy effect on hit, more blood orbs around (still spawn even when in power), can see survivors that walk through them, longer lasting power but no instadown
    • Team: Teammate can also see survivors that walk through bloodorbs

    Deathslinger

    • Innate: Quickscope is back, faster reload
    • Team: While a survivor is speared they are exposed to your teammate

    Blight

    • Innate: Slower speed but infinite rushes (similar the old add-on)
    • Team: Can see auras of survivors 32m away while within 16m of a teammate

    Twins

    • Innate: Victor no longer attaches. Can injure and down.
    • Team: While next to victor or charlotte, gain a slight haste boost. Teammate can teleport to any downed survivor.

    Trickster

    • Innate: More knives, knives partially refill after a main event
    • Team: While in main event survivors in your terror radius become exposed

    Artist

    • Innate: Extra crow, faster crow recharge time, crows spread
    • Team: Survivors that remove crows have their aura revealed to teammate

    Dredge

    • Innate: Faster locker teleport, longer nightfall, break out of locked lockers quicker
    • Team: While in nightfall you and your teammate become harder to detect (sort of like wraith cloak but slightly more visible) teammate can break locks

    Knight

    • Innate: Can use multiple guards at once
    • Team: Gain haste while in range of a guard

    Skull Merchant

    • Innate: Extra drones with wider range
    • Team: Teammates gets undetectable while they or the merchant is under a drone

    Singularity

    • Innate: many extra pods, longer pod range, pods recover faster
    • Team: Teammates that get pallet stunned by a survivor that's been tagged will insta break the pallet.

    Unknown

    • Innate: Extra clones to teleport to, direct hits will put into deep wound,
    • Team: Teammate will get killer instinct of any survivor within 8 meters of a clone

Edit: I had stuff to do so I kinda hurried some of them. Will come back and edit them some later.

  • I can't say too much about his strength but he feels a bit nicer on console from the couple matches I played.

Could be placebo as well as I didn't really play him all that much before.

  • Honestly, I wouldn't mine having the bug stay if it was touched up a bit.

  • Trapper because the next game I spend half the match looking for phantom traps lol.

I actually don't mind going against any killer. At worst I give an eyeroll for some.

I more often get annoyed at my teammates because they decided they don't like whatever killer we got so they DC or kill themselves on first hook.

  • Bring a key and rat around if things start to look bad. Works fairly well for adepts.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

Am I the only one who does not find using the sweatiest builds on blight/nurse etc and relentlessly tunneling/camping to cheese win streaks even remotely impressive? lol.

A lot a people feel that way me included. I always felt win steaks like that would be far more more impressive if it was against comp players. Even something like 30 wins then would be kinda nuts.

  • I went against a 4-man Claudette squad all with Iron Will/Lightweight/Botany and Self Care many years back and let me tell you it's awful if you don't have some kind of info perk or power.

The match went on for like 20-ish minutes as they very slowly worked on gens and hid long before I'd get to them. A team with a full stealth build is terrifying and awful. T_T

As for the original question I think Lucky Break, Overcome, and then a healing perk like SiS, SC or IS works pretty good. Pairing Bite the Bullet with Self Care can work to replace Iron Will.

It's a bit hit and miss depending on the map but when it works it really hurts the killers pressure.

You could also replace Overcome with Iron Will instead and throw on Lightweight as well so you're hard to track when injured and healthy.

  • This feels like a "safe" list to me. No real outliers stand out though I do disagree a little on a few placements.

Even with all the nerfs I think Blight is still better then Spirit.

    I feel Doctor/Clown should go behind Nemesis/Dredge.

I actually think Bubba should go up to the bottom of A or top of B.

    All super debatable of course.

  • Ormand, Deepwood and Haddonfield.

I'm very surprised they haven't been found if they do exist. It's possible with the Ormand rework they forgot to add it back in. Maybe with the Ormand variation it'll show back up?

Same with Haddonfield. They could have just forgotten to put it back in.

    Deepwood I have no idea.

It feels like they should have been found with all the people that glitch around and stuff.

  • Oni's Iri that gives a mini infectious fright on missed hits is pretty bad in practice IMO.

You can use it if you don't know where someone is but you shouldn't be using your power in the first place without knowing someone's location.

Randomly running around bonking is a waste of time and even if you do find someone with it, you probably won't be able to snowball which weakens Oni a lot.

Missing a hit on a survivor and accidently finding someone else nearby could get some minor value.

You could also bonk the ground after a down to see if anyone is nearby for a flashy/snowball but at that point just use Infectious to save time and scan a bigger area.

In every video I've seen showing it off, the person would have gotten more value running Infectious, running any other add-on or would have found the person anyway because of scratch marks, blood etc.

Edit: Now if it worked on hits and misses both then it'd actually be pretty good IMO.

  • Farming isn't bannable so this is almost certainly fine.

The only way this would be bannable is if you did somehow get into their game and they bled you out. Being targeted for not farming is a bannable thing.

I doubt a Mod will go any deeper then that if they do give a response. They tend to leave things in the gray area for the most part to keep people from riding the line.
