Jason is probably the only absolutely 100% guaranteed license. BHVR have stated multiple times they want him if they can get him.
Predator is also very likely due to ties with Alien.
Everything else could go either way IMO.
-
I'd probably put them as a better Artist. Maybe even higher depending on how good the person is at aiming.
You'd certainly be seeing a ton of complaints if that's how they worked.
-
I think the only people who have the rift complete are streamers and people who play multiple hours everyday. We're not even halfway through the tome and lvl 3 only just released so I feel plenty of people will be able to use the extra rift boost.
For the 2nd part I agree. Many people have brought up having a bit extra BP for every level after hitting the cap.
-
I think it'd be easier to name licenses that would be unhealthy tbh.
Jeepers Creepers is a solid No.
Real life killers are also a No.
FNAF would be very divisive due to the political stuff as well as how the community is viewed.
Slenderman might cause issues due to IRL incidents done in their name.
Something not even slightly horror related might fall under unhealthy depending on how you view the game.
Most other things are probably fine and would be considered healthy or at the very least neutral.
-
I think some people don't realize the code is way at the bottom and not super obvious. I get DBD emails and for longest time I never realized they came with a code because I always skim it.
-
I don't really see a point in humping being bannable because it'll just be replaced by something else and the moment they ban for that you'll have people calling for bans for tbagging, nodding, slugging, tunneling, etc; which people already do to a degree which is wild.
Lets say they do ban humping. What if the killer does it from the front then? What if they do it side to side? Up against a random wall? Walking in circles? Moonwalking on you?
Where exactly is the line of what motions are and aren't okay? Not only that but the moment you make that line then people will simply get as close as they can to it for maximum annoyance and it'll still have the same BM intent as humping so nothing will have changed.
-
Can confirm. It doesn't seem like it's a well known glitch at the moment at least.
-
I think it's on but the numbers might be picking from a wider group.
-
Sounds very much like a backfill lobby as people mentioned. Oddly enough when they were doing MMR tests there was one where it was tighter with longer queue times and people actively hated it. People don't seem to like it now either but I don't think there is any version of MMR that would please everyone.
I personally don't mind it but I've also got a lot of hours.
The backfill system can certainly be rough for newer players though. :/
-
Beginner level Nurse is probably the worst overall without question.
Followed then by some basekit killers like Myers, Trapper or Legion.
Full power I'd say maybe Trapper? Assuming he doesn't get a basement hook and is against a decent team. You could honestly argue a lot of different killers as worst.
-
I'm fine with the basekit mori thing as I've always thought it should be like that but unless the BP bonus is huge, it should be something else. It's kind of boring.
-
I mean that's just how tier lists go.
Like above, Myers is certainly not an A-Tier in general but then again, what is it basing off of? That he has Tombstone and he gets an early kill as well as it being solo queue? Yup, at that point Myers is one of the best killers in the game under that condition.
I think most western tier lists go on a in-general basis more then anything. Counting a combo of SWF/Solo/Comp as well as a composite of all add-ons and the current meta perks to get a idea of a killers strength and then they're rated. That's how Otz generally rates his as well if memory serves.
Another problem to consider with tier lists is do you count outliers in player skill or just the general skill of higher level players? Like if only a handful of people could play a killer at an extreme level do you count that or the more realistic skill cap of a decent player?
You can make tiers lists using so many different conditions that they should all be taken with a grain of salt not to mention ones personal bias. It's not just Otz either as I'm sure every content creator out there has a bad take or two when it comes to tier lists.
And then if you were to look at a random persons tier list you'd probably have even more bad takes.
And again, it's not even that the takes are actually bad. It might just be the conditions a person is using for their list.
-
I actually think it'd be pretty cool to have something like that or more perks like Dramaturgy.
Things that add a bit more randomness would be a neat twist.

@ohheyitsbobcats build is the one I would suggest. Of all the builds I've seen this one makes the most sense to go for it:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3559685#Comment_3559685
The Game exit gates are the only guaranteed deadzone I know of where you can drop a survivor that makes it basically impossible for them to get away to a locker, and you can build bloodlust as they try to juke around that area.
You still need to catch the 3 out of 4 survivors before hand and not get stuffed by hatch, but this is the strongest method I've seen that eliminates a survivors ability to wait you out via bleed out, end game collapse or EW stacks.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see this spread around. Thx. <3

Updating to say this bug is still in the game.
Just got out of a match on Shelter Woods as Sable. It happened exactly the same as the video above.
PS5
-
Around 30k players is where DBD tends to level out so it's at its norm atm.
Might be your area? I get fairly quick lobbies for both sides, even when I play at like 1-2 in the morning.

Hello everybody my name is Markiplier and welcome back to Five Nights at Freddy's Three
Love it. <3

Yeah, if 4 survivors brought offerings they would show in order with the names so you could see who brought what. If only 3 survivors brought offerings you could still narrow it down between 2 of them.
Now the offerings are randomized and no longer line up. I made a topic about this as well.
I have no idea if this is a intended change, a new bug or just a coincidence.

This sounds a lot like me and it's probably not what you think.
I find the killer role challenging, I have to try pretty hard as a console Oni and Knight to win, both have there issues with Oni being a bit iffy on console and Knight being abuseable if survivors know how to counter him. Because I try hard and want to do well and win, I feel happy once I've gotten the 3rd kill and very often, I let them go as I did my job of playing well and winning which are bywords for FUN.
No I don't let them live because its a powerplay or out of sympathy, I do it because I was having a tough match and was expecting to lose, so when I don't get whipped or lose, I'm happy to let the last person live.
I do genuinely find playing killer challenging, survivors always seem to know what they're doing, they rarely mess up and even if they appear to be solos or two's, they always seem to coordinate there efforts every time I play. This is a stark contrast to when I play solo survivor.
I think OP at least partially is talking about killers who more or less BM first before letting someone go. Like a Nurse who slugs everyone at the start, bleeds out 3 people and then lets the last one go though hatch.
Or maybe the killer who will tunnel someone out at 5 gens, still be at 4-5 gens when getting the 2nd person, maybe hit them on hook a few times before proxying and then tunneling that person out as well. Eventually getting the 3rd person who will usually let go on hook and then getting the 4th person but gives them hatch.
-
Could do an Otz intro.
Hello, this is GoodBoyKaru at least according to (insert joke here) and I watched the 8th Anniversary live stream so you don't have to.
For the joke you could go death certificate, more shadow realm stuff, college degree, your laptop, etc.

I didn't even know there was a community challenge going on.

It's really not that big a deal. Plague has one of the strongest powers when active so having DS counter it is fine. Same with Head-on and Blast Mine.
I do understand being mad at this being a 5-year bug and the DS effecting powers though that's more of a side effect then anything.
@Aven_Fallen said:
At least the second thread where someone posts a video of Otz about this.
And IMO it is fair. A Plague who got hit by DS was most likely tunneling anyway, good riddance that her power is gone then.
I've seen it three times now lol.

One last question.
How can you drop a survivor you are carrying (i play on PC)?
A Leaon scaped 3 times because i couldnt breake a door with him on the shoulder, but i have seen people in youtube videos dropping survivors on purpose.
I believe it's the R key
-
It depends on a few things like if you're playing on PC or console but to keep as simple as possible, learning to chainsaw can be rather difficult and takes a bit of practice, especially for a new player. There are other killers that are much easier to start with if Billy becomes to aggravating; Wraith and Trapper both being good choices.
If your heart is set on Billy then I recommend playing some games in custom mode against the bots. There is no real way to learn the chainsaw other then practicing it a lot and the bots will give you a stress free environment. The bots will also dodge your saw and weave back and forth so they make great practice.
Billy himself is a killer that mostly weaves around and can curve certain objects. For the first second of using your saw you will have massively increased turn rate which can be hard to control for a beginner. This might be your issue as you have to be very gentle if the survivor is in front of you otherwise you'll end up turning too sharp.
I'm no Billy professional though so I'll leave better tips to anyone else that comes along but the main thing being is to practice with the bots to try and feel how the saw controls.
-
In case you missed my comment, it is not exclusive. I was able to get it on console.
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
I didn't even know that offerings followed in an order. I always thought it was random, except for the last one, which was obviously from the killer.
Yup. The way it worked if 4 survivors brought offerings they would show up in order along with their names. If only three survivors brought them, you could still narrow it down between two different survivors.
I don't think it was a common thing most people knew though.

You can get it on console. There is a trophy for it and I was able to get it.

Anyone no where the statue is?
Go to any Yamaoka map and look around the outside wall. It's fairly big (bit bigger then a totem) and you just have to kind of touch it.
The only thing I'm not sure of is if multiple people in a match can get it. So far, I haven't seen it respawn so it might be one person per match.
-
300k BP. It's mostly likely the same for everyone.
-
Isn't this just the filters debate all over again?
-
I don't really have any major problems with the game because as survivor I almost always play in a 2-man with a buddy and we just chit chat without caring too much.
As killer I also tend to just mess around most of the time and don't really care about what goes on. I don't take this game seriously on either side. Not saying I don't try to win but I just don't care what happens all that much. Did I just get tunneled for the 5th game in a row? Might be slightly annoyed but that's fine as it gives me more time to focus on chit-chatting.
The forums are more hit and miss. There's a lot of times I write out a long response and delete it because I'll ask myself if I really want to debate the issue and most of the time I don't. I'm also not super great at wording how I feel sometimes and I'll tend to reread my posts a lot before actually commenting to make sure what I'm trying to say gets through.
I try to stay neutral most of the time as well so I don't really have much of a presence; this makes me not really care when and where I do post. I have a similar personality on other forums as well; I have around 10k posts on a different forum and I bet not a single person there would even recognize me lol.
I also don't want to be an ######### and some of my opinions on certain subjects certainly go there so I just keep my mouth shut since really, it's not even a problem. It doesn't effect me or my time in the game so if some people feel certain ways I can just roll my eyes and remember different strokes an all that.
The point being the forums will actually annoy me more then the game.

How did you made the link between not being able to cancel an unhook and survivors attempting to be rude?
That''s the reason for the change in the patch notes. You'll no longer be able to cancel unhooks in order to stop people from spamming it to BM.
I agree with OP. It's a rather pointless change and the unhook spam is basically a non-issue.

One could make the argument Myers is stronger than Oni. He did tank six gunshots and walk it off, whereas Oni was outmatched by a village. It's also worth noting that if we're discussing Michael outside the original film, he was maimed in like 20 unique ways during 2018 and Kills, and still managed to kill an entire team of armed fire fighters, an entire angry mob attacking him with improvised weapons (something Oni couldn't), multiple individuals actively hunting for him with firearms, police officers, I could keep going. And that was all across the same night.
Huntress is implied somewhat to be supernatural, there's a neat comment earlier in the thread about how she's seemingly a werewolf of sorts.
Trapper has access to the perk "Brutal Strength" so I'd say his current placement works.
Freddy's placement depends heavily on whether his dream powers are closer to the movies or if we're following how the Entity changed him to work within the realm.
Doctor shocking people during an arm wrestling match is maybe the most in character thing he could possibly do
Xeno might actually lose to a lot of the cast because their biology makes it so that parts of their body pop in order to spread acid blood after being injured, so an arm wrestling match against some of the stronger members of the cast would probably end with their arm just snapping off outright lol
It would be hilarious to see Chucky fold Legion or whoever without much of an issue because he summons his ghost and they both start talking trash.
I definitely agree you could make an argument of Myers being harder to kill and even winning a 1v1. I don't think Myers wins in arm wrestling though.
I did read the Huntress stuff which was neat. I'm not overly familiar with the lore though and was mainly basing it off her beating trained soldiers.
Does Trapper actually have any kind of crazy strength feats in his lore I wonder? I know he's pretty jacked but I assumed he's only as strong as someone like Bubba.
Xeno does carry survivors around 1-handed pretty easily alone with being an alien so I was basing on that. I haven't actually watched anything Alien related before so I'll take your word on it. ^_^
-
Nope, I think it'd be perfectly balanced.
It could work like Clown's power where you just swap back and forth when you want. I also think he should maybe get one other dream power and then mess around with the dream mechanic more.
-
I don't think I've ever disagreed with a list more then this. Granted I don't know DBD lore super well but my opinions down below.
Myers higher then Oni? Oni is basically made of muscle. Myers can pick up a person, Oni could probably pick up a car. I don't see Myers swinging around a kanabo like Oni can.
Speaking of, if you're giving them their powers then Wesker should be higher. He's superhuman.
Huntress, Trapper, Bubba and Billy aren't quite superhuman level so should be lower.
If Freddy is allowed dream powers then he is basically top tier.
If Doctor is allowed to shock his opponents with his grip he'd probably move up some.
Plague and Artist should be lower assuming your not going to let them Puke/Throw crows mid match. They're just normal humans more or less.
Demo/Alien should probably be higher. I don't see any normal human beating them in strength.
Blight, Unknown, Singularity and Dredge I'm not really sure how to rank.
Chucky should be a bit higher assuming he can hold himself down. He's the size of a doll but he still has above average human strength.
Edit: Fun list though. I wish we had more stuff like this lol.

AFK person doesn't actively hide, so eventually crows will appear and just get hooked by killer, game will ends
This is with expectation of that survivor is seriously hiding and only doing things to avoid crows, if that's not the case problem would be different
I still wouldn't consider it hostage taking unless all the survivors in the lobby are doing it since the game is progressing and all individuals can still play.
I really don't know what that'd even fall under unless the person themselves admitted to wanting to try and stall/grief the game.
I tried to find a dev/mod response to hiding all game or refusing to do gens but couldn't. As far as I know they've never commented on if an individual hiding all game while the team does objectives is bannable or not.
I only found people like us debating back and forth that it is/isn't with no proof otherwise. If you know of any Dev/Mod comments on this issue, I'd love to read it.
Even if I am wrong and it is bannable, I still think you'd need admission from the offender at the very least since you wouldn't be able to record said person doing nothing all game; unless the recorder was also doing nothing.

A survivor hiding in the locker is stopping killer from playing UNLESS other 3 survivors generously participate in game and allow killer to play the game
Seems very same to be honest
IDK, that'd be in the same vein as arguing an AFK person is holding the game hostage since the killer can't play either. It doesn't really work that way.
In our scenario at least the killer can just grab them from the locker if they stay and if they don't then nothing is stopping them from breaking the turrets and chasing.
-
I personally don't have a problem with it since it's not that common to run into and normally only happens if you've already lost.
That said I do think killer should have action priority; in the same vein you can kick a pallet that's being Any Means'd.
So yes, I think it should be changed but not because I personally have a problem with it but because killer actions should generally override survivor ones to be consistent.
-
I don't know if this is the proper place for this but notifications seem to broken again and not showing up or at least some of them.
It used to be they would auto-read before I looked at them but I could still check once in a while manually. Now I'm not getting any. I noticed I got quoted by a user today but it didn't show up at all in my notifications.
Not sure if this was a one off thing or something else is going on.
Edit: Never mind it's working now. Guess I just had to complain about it first.

Posts from new accounts or accounts with a little amount of post will often get flagged as spam, especially if you try to edit them.
The mods will usually go through and approve them after a while though. Might take a couple days depending on how busy they are/how many things have been flagged.

It's realistically unfindable if survivors ONLY exits the locker with sole purpose of avoiding crows
If we go in technicality, we can always find survivors unless they are cheaters, but in reality it's impossible because killers can move and see only so much
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3696834#Comment_3696834
If that was the case, body blocking single survivor for an entire match would not be considered as hostage because other survivors can progress the game
I believe if you need other players to progress the game, that's enough for hostage
Those are two very different scenarios though. The person chilling in the locker isn't stopping the other 3 or the killer from playing. They are hurting their team by using resources selfishly but everyone can still play the game. It's just like if one person uses all of the Nemesis/Wesker cures for themselves.
A survivor blocking another survivor is the same as a killer blocking a survivor. It's preventing someone from playing all together which is where holding the game hostage comes from.
I should have worded my earlier statement a bit better as I didn't mean that was the only way to do it. It's just the only one I brought up. That's my bad.
Edit: Added to my post.
-
It sounds rather annoying but I doubt it's reportable.
Not participating in normal gameplay really should be removed from the report because it's simply not true. Chest Protector, Farming, Sabo Squads that won't do gens and other meme-y things are not bannable so I don't see how this would be.
Holding the game hostage only applies if two+ people are actively hiding to prolong it. One person making a fort to hide in isn't holding anything hostage.
For griefing you'd have to prove he's doing this to try and hurt his teammates and not just protect himself. If someone wants to play super selfish they can; there are even perks designed around it.
Considering the billion challenges it could also be argued he was working on something specific.
If you banned people for hiding in lockers all game then brand new players would likely get banned.
Again, this is certainly annoying but I doubt it's bannable without the player themselves admitting to try and grief.
-
I think they have to pay to get the trophies changed and even then I think it's still a pain in the ass process if the trophy is doable. You tend to only see trophies that are impossible get changed in most cases.
Also, on PS4 it reads that you only need 20. It's a mistake on their end and you still need 100 so don't get your hopes up too much but that might mean they're working on it?

Simulated sexual assault "silly and minor"?
I'm out of here.
I have a legit question. DBD itself is literally simulating brutally murdering people ad infinitum to please some cosmic entity or possibly sate their own bloodlust. If this was real it would be beyond ######### up, but it's not. It fake and just a video game.
So why does "humping" get the if it was real treatment but the game itself doesn't? After all should we really be simulating killing and torturing fellow human beings for fun?
Or is it at the end of the day, just a video game and what happens in the game, shouldn't be compared to real life?
-
Humping is what its called and it's the killer equivalent of a tbag. It is a taunt, no more or less; literally the killer going "haha" over and over. 99% of people are not living out some weird fetish thing. It's not toxic but you could argue immature. Chucky might do it more because of his size so it's funnier to them.
Slugging for the 4k also isn't toxic/immature. A killer can slug for the 4k all they want for whatever reason they want for however long they want. It's annoying at worst but part of the game; just like a Nurse who runs 4 slowdowns. There is no responsibility on either side to play a certain way.
-
@Mr_K said:
How does the killer and survivors join the same lobby? An exteral tool? 🤔
Back in the old p2p days, players would change their region to South Africa to easily find eachother. But with dedicated servers...
I don't know how many people are in the group but I imagine they could brute force it with shareplay off. Especially if it's a bigger group with multiple 4-mans/killers queueing up at the same time.
-
No, farming is currently not a bannable thing.
However, if what the video said is true where they'll leave a survivor to bleed out because they don't want to farm, that would be bannable. I imagine these groups are running in 4-mans though so it probably doesn't really apply in most cases.
-
I play the exact same way and as such have split my killers. I have killers to tryhard on and killers to chill with. Whenever I have to do a sacrifice challenge I switch to a tryhard killer so not to bully babies.
Any other challenge though I go chill mode. I'll 8 hook and then just practice the killer power until the survivors realize whats up and then I'll meme. I never bring slowdown, tunnel or slug and instead only bring info or random perks like Franklins. My go to recently is Trail for the spooks. I'll also usually just fake not being able to find a hook if I find someone on deathhook.
Playing like this will tank your MMR though and you'll end up with literal brand new players so if you don't want that, you'll have to kill once in a while. Every other game is usually good to keep a balance.
I personally find this makes the game a ton of fun as it allows me to sweat if I wanna sweat and chill if I wanna chill.
-
Console Player as a FYI. I started playing in 2018 sometime around Clown release. I can't remember if it was right before or right after but it was around then. Hour wise I'd say I'm around 2500 or so. I haven't checked in a while.
Survivor
- Feng: My Main ATM because of her outfit choices. I used her for the majority of my survivor games but only started using her like a year after I started playing. I'm around P40 or so if memory serves.
- David: Started using him after I stopped caring about hiding all the time. I use the shirtless cosmetic and still use him once in a while.
- Dwight: First character I tried. Played with them for a while. I switch back to them when I do Head On shenanigans w/a friend.
- Claudette: Once I started to understand the game a bit better I switched from Dwight to her for Self Care and blending in. Back when she had the darker p3 outfit, moon offering and fog it let me hide super well and I was all for it. Iron Will was also a staple of course.
- Sable: Currently thinking of switching my Main to her instead of Feng like everyone else lol.
- Everyone Else: Only really played to do adepts or to get rid of offerings.
Killer
- Wraith: One of my first killers and the one I have the highest prestige on at around 20ish. I normally level everyone up to 3 and then put all my points into survivor instead. Haven't played him much recently though.
- Wesker: I jumped on the Wesker train and loved every second. I still play him a lot and also have him around p20.
- Legion: I used to play them about the same as Wraith but kind of fell off.
- Nemesis/Oni/Myers: When I took the game really seriously I played them a ton to the point I'd say I main'd them. Then I kind of stopped caring and haven't really played them at all in probably over a year.
- Artist: Played her a lot when she came out. I don't play her that much anymore but I do still like her.
- Billy: I used to hate Billy and he was easily one of my least favorite to play. I gave him another chance with the buffs and he has become one of my favorite killers in the game to the point I started to only play him and am considering trying to Main him.
- Deathslinger: Used to not like him but he's grown on me and I was playing him a lot before I switched over to Billy. I still quite like him
- Chucky: Also played him a lot when he came out but not as much as others. I like Chucky a lot but at this point I have too many killers to choose from and normally end up picking another.
- Bubba/Doctor: I sorta main'd them early on; this was also before their reworks. I didn't really stick with them though.
- Everyone Else: Like survivor, I only played them for the adept, to use up offerings or if the mood struck me.
