Honesty, it's always high praise when people claim you're cheating and you're not. It's like the ultimate, damn you're a good player.
And nothing to worry about. They have to go through and entire process of recording/submitting and have legit proof of cheats so if you're on the up and up then nothing to worry about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjlRqgahTcIFigured I'd post this here since it's relevant. It's nice to see people talking about this more and most of the comments seem to like the Overcharge idea.
Hopefully with more people talking about, it'll get changed in someway or another.

It rewards you for camping a gen, which gives the survivor team plenty of time to do all the others. The only time where it's useful is when there is one gen with a ton of progress and zero other gens that have been worked on.
Its biggest weakness, ironically, is survivors tapping the gen to stop the regression. Because the skillcheck doesn't stop or punish tapping in the slightest.
Because the perk was made incorrectly
Which brings us back to the thread's topic
To which the answer is: no.
Regular checks shouldn't work like Overcharge.
Overcharge should work like regular checks.
Well, why not just switch effects then?
Buff Overcharge so it instantly blows up if someone tries to tap it and have normal skillchecks persist after letting go. Now people can't tap and run and on other end, people don't blow up gens when they leave to do something else.

Bro those books scared the absolute ######### out of me when I was younger. Could any of the many villains work as a killer? I remember a few of the villains but not all of them.
Harold was always my favorite but I don't really know tbh. As originals, I'm sure they could come up with something for one of them but costumes might actually be a bit harder thinking on it more. I don't remember most of the individual villains having powers or anything and instead it was always left more to the imagination.

The lawsuit has been over for a while now, there's talk about a new reboot friday movie coming out in 2023.
That's neat. I haven't really been following it so I thought it was still in the ending process. Jason would be my pick then.
-
Movies: Jason but with copyright stuff impeding that, Chucky.
Books: It, though personally I'd prefer a Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark costume pack and original killer.
Indie Games: Slender
Normal Games: Fatal Frame

I'm pretty sure they have a sparkle effect when you have one totally complete. Could be wrong though, I don't really pay much attention to them.
Edit: Yup, they do, a bit hard to see but here is mine.
Edit 2: Unless you mean challenges ready to hand in because you've been saving them for bloodpoints. Not sure how that works.
-
Yup. I doubt there are many people out there that can say they've lost as killer after a full team slug and even for the people that have, the amount that's happened could probably be counted on one hand.
I do think a few things could be tweaked but for the people saying this is a nice killer buff, it just don't make sense to me. It's a QoL update more then anything.

Thank you !! I really appreciate it.
And I kind of get what you mean about phobia mode, but at the same time I know that if they ever implemented a spider killer then without a phobia mode I'd have to quit. It's not so much the enjoyable horror as the I feel like there's spiders in my room on my arms under my skin etc, and I really couldn't cope with it.
To me, at least, horror is good when it can make you deathly afraid but at the same time you're still having fun. Your heart is racing and you're on the edge of your seat, tension has been building and you just know something will be around that corner, but then it isn't and you relax and that's when it gets you. And with some things related to dbd, ie claustrophobic corridors on Lerys/Midwich, or the suspense as you repair an inside gen vs a Stealth killer, you can never get rid of them but I'm also not sure anyone would want to.
Yeah, I mean, it's not something I'd rage quit the game over or anything but it just wouldn't sit right with me is all. I have globophobia, not to the point I'm deathly afraid but enough that I get very uncomfortable and nauseous in the worst case but it's never really stopped me dead from doing something or powering on. Maybe if I had a more common or severe fear I might feel differently about it. If a spider killer ever does get added, I wish you the best.
The other thing was the Choice Restrictions but I misread that. I thought you meant it as a permanent thing with some perks never being allowed together but I see you meant it more as an alternative to kill-switching until they get fixed. I wouldn't mind something like that, could be used with add-ons/items as well.

out of sheer, morbid curiosity what were the bits you vehemently disliked (if there's not too many to mention)? For no reason other than I'm wondering lmao
Vehemently was probably way too strong a word but the thing I disagreed with the most or at least had the most internal emotional backlash too was the Phobia mode.
I'll be the first to admit DBD is more a hide and seek with horror themes game then an actual horror experience but having a mode where you can just turn off common phobias just doesn't sit right with me for some reason. Like, if anything it's a good thing people are scared of certain things since it'll keep the horror aspect longer for them and being able to just turn off doesn't seem right.
Not the best comparison but it's like if you could just turn off all jumpscare animations in a FNAF game. It would turn it into something it's not. It's hard to put into words what I mean but I really dislike the idea of a horror-themed game having a way to turn off the horror themes.
I'll skim through it again quick, there was another one I didn't care for. For the record, I'm very impressed with the amount of work you must of put in this. I attempted something like this once after watching Otz's Killer change video a while back and I got to Nurse and just gave up.
-
There is way too much to go over so I'll just say there were things I loved, liked, were meh about, disliked and vehemently disliked.
The power cords on gens was the thing I found most interesting. I don't know for sure if I like it or dislike it, but I found it the most interesting and something I wouldn't mind seeing in-game so I could form a better opinion.
Though them needing 3 cords to power a gate seems redundant with the 2% bonus per cord. That would mean every gate always has a minimum of 6% increase. I'd have it as every cord after 3 offer a bonus of 5% up to 10% that way it's all the same.
-
Funny enough I've done that before with Ghostface as well. I actually think it works the best on him since people seem to forget he can instadown. It can also work on Myers for a cheeky 99'd tier 3. Super situational and I've only ever done it with success like thrice but it is fun to pull off.
-
Back in the day, I had a few people DC when you'd dribble them to negate old DS. One of them messaged me and let me know all about how I was an awful person for doing such a thing as well as a few other choice things.
Was pretty funny.

Around 2000-ish hours and the most I've seen with it off is auto-swing farming.

You don't need their steam ID if you're reporting from console. You need to make an in-game report, have some video evidence and then make a report on their website with said video evidence. Link to Website
As long as you made an in-game report then they can find the cheaters ID themselves by using your ID since it'll make a snapshot of all the relevant information from your in-game report.
It's a bit of the pain having to go to a separate website as well as upload a video just to report a cheater but at the moment, this is the only way.

Situational and map dependent but there are multiple gen types you should be on the lookout for and in order of importance IMO.
3-Gen: As the name says, three gens all relatively close to each other and is the most beneficial setup for killers and can sometimes win entire games depending on their perks. Should be worked on immediately but you also have to be careful not to over commit. If breaking the 3-gen costs your entire team then it's not worth it. If the killer is guarding it from the beginning then it can sometimes be beneficial to do other gens first that way when it gets completed, you don't still have 4 gens left to do.
Dead Zone Gen: These are gens with nothing around them and can be very problematic in endgame if the other two gens are close to each other. These gens will almost always guarantee a hit and depending on killer, even a down. They're not as problematic if the last two gens are spread out but can still be an issue.
Central Gens: Gens that are right in the middle of the map. These are good gens to get done as they can sometimes be a part of a 3-gen or just in the pathway of the killer moving around. At endgame these gens are very hard to finish so it's more like you only have two gens to choose from instead of three. Getting it done early can give you more options later but I personally don't think it's as much of a problem as 3-gens or dead zone gens since you'll still be able to loop the area.
Action Gens: These are gens that do some kind of in game action that may be helpful but are often not. These are gens like the central one on Temple of Purgation which opens the central area and has a chest. Gens on The Game are all action gens and some can make loops better while some others are better left for last because of the door placement. Very situational and only applies to a select few maps.

You start at half infection when you get unhooked, how the ######### are you guys not getting infected during chase? It's not like you can spray mid chase. And it just feels like this is a free tunnel mechanic for garbage killers. Also if he hits you once he is "succeeding"????? Imagine huntress huntress hitting you with a hatchet and then a timer runs for 50 second which makes you 10% slower after the timer is done. Is that fair?
As long as you can remove it in that time? Yes, plenty fair. She doesn't need such a buff but it would be "fair" since the survivors can remove the debuff.
It's no different then say Plague or Nemesis as well.
-
Yeah, here and there; I do it myself and have seen others do it. I was playing earlier today and some of my killer queues can get pretty long, like 10+ minutes on killers I play a lot (crossplay off) but I don't really mind as I catch up on some shows, manga and whatever else. I actually enjoy the little breaks and some of my killers I don't play all that much have faster times, usually just a couple minutes so if I get impatient I just switch.
Anyway, color me surprised when I get in instantly to a group with prestige in the 10's, 20's and 30's and the other like 6 or something all with similar names and a separate array of items. I was getting ready to dodge but I realized they've probably been waiting a while since I was able to get in instantly so, I buckled down and played it out.
Late at night when I play in a 2-man, I see killers leave a lot. I assume most of the time it's the same person just getting back in and quitting out since the game seems to prioritize that. I also see it a lot with survivors when the lobby isn't full; they just don't want to wait.

You can report whoever is teaming with the killer if you don't agree with it. I remember this rule with farming. Farming isn't bannable as long as everyone involved is ok with it. If even 1 doesn't agree with it, you can proceed to report it.
I think that only applies if the killer kills the person who doesn't want to farm. If memory serves, I think I saw a dev mention that the killer could farm with the other 3 and the person who doesn't want to farm can just do gens and leave and it's fine as long as the killer doesn't try to stop them. I'll see if I can find a quote of a dev/mod mentioning it.
I think it also applies if the survivor points to the hook to die because of the farming and the killer refuses to kill them then that's a no-no.
-
They don't stack over a certain amount and even at max it's not that bad; 75% increase according to the wiki. I had to explain once to a 4-man SWF that bringing 4 purple bottles did not work the way they thought.
For the record
-3 browns is max
-1 yellow and 1 brown is max
-1 purple is max

Since you're not actually on top of the person when you do it it's not the same as the teabags of old FPS games. It's just quick crouches but the term teabag has come to just mean that.
Edit: Why do the forums keep eating my comments after I make small edits to fix grammar or typos? Last time it came back randomly, I hope it does now as well xD
Newer accounts that don't have a lot of posts get auto-flagged as spam when they get edited. The mods manually review to make sure it's not and I think it's sometime after 100 posts or so is when they stop getting auto-flagged.

PS4 crossplay off. Played the last two days about 10 games both days and I had Wesker in all of them but two, which were instead a Blight and a Freddy.
I can't speak for everywhere else but he seems to be super popular on Playstation.
-
One of the reasons it might take so long to ban is that they tend to do ban waves instead of quick individual bans. At least that's what I've heard anyway.
-
Depending on the challenge itself, I will try to be as efficient as humanly possible so as not to take way too many games. This has led to me being a very bad boy on occasion.
-I farm some of the killer challenges for ones I really don't like and don't even feel bad about it.
-I have on multiple occasions left my entire team to die when doing an escape challenge. Even when I had ample opportunity to rescue.
-I have spent more time in some matches looking for totems/chests/etc then doing gens.
-I have farmed many a teammate. Sometimes milliseconds after they were hooked.
-I have sent killers to a lot of bad maps back to back. I hope they like Ormand, Farm, and The Game.
-I have slugged for way too long on way too many occasions in the same match.
I'm sure I've done other unspeakable acts but these are the only ones that come to mine right now. I do like the challenges though, I probably would have dropped the game or at least play it a lot less without them.
I also want to note those are closer to the extreme then not. I generally just play normally while trying to be efficient at the same time; as in not throw a match to do a challenge.
-
Eh, I think Prove Thyself is fine.
~53 seconds to two man a gen
~46 seconds to two man a gen with Prove Thyself. This give about a 7 second time save which only comes from negating the efficiency penalty. It's not a raw time save and is less efficient then doing solo gens by 1 second per gen.
For reference, a base brown toolbox with no add-ons saves around 5 seconds. Yellow is close to 7 and a commodious is around 11. Again, no add-ons.
Prove Thyself is useful for knocking out a troublesome gen or hurting a 3-gen strat. A good and useful perk but hardly OP and deserving of a nerf.
Hyperfocus could use some tuning down though.

Unless I missed a part he doesnt damage you if he vaults, he damages you if youre vaulting and he dashes on you
On PTB you could vault a window or pallet and it would just stop his dash and leave the Survivor unharmed, wouldnt even infect them
They're talking about this.
We’ve also polished the way Virulent Bound interacts with pallets & windows. During the PTB, Survivors would not take damage if The Mastermind bounded towards them as they were vaulting. This was not intentional: The Mastermind will now hit them with his tentacles if they’re caught in the middle of a vault. Additionally, Survivors could wait on the other side of a pallet, vaulting back over it before The Mastermind could attack after vaulting. Going forward, standing too close to a vault location as The Mastermind bounds over it will result in the Survivor being injured.
On topic it's hard to say until we actually see it to know the distance.
-
I've seen other people leave the code on the walls of whoever wanted it but yeah, I think it's against the rules to do so on the forum.
Edit: Lol yeah, there's a sticky right at the top saying not to share codes. Not sure how I missed that.
-
The only thing I hope gets changed is that the survivor is allowed to cancel it so they don't get trapped for extended periods by troll-y SWF's or solos.
I'm 50/50 on it being canceled during endgame and wouldn't really mind either way.
Other then that I hope it stays the same.
-
I've found little more satisfying then bringing Franklins and seeing a white ward. The reactions and messages are usually quite good.
-
I think the devs have said it's normally around the 10 minute mark when things are certainly considered hostage taking for stuff like that.
5 minutes or so is fine since they could be coordinating, looking at gen locations, searching chests for a key or helpful item, etc.
That time between 5-10 minutes is iffy and I don't think the devs have ever given a specific time window of what's too long to be doing nothing.
In your case, it's a solid maybe. Would probably depend on whoever looked at the ticket honestly.

I can't see the video because the file is unreachable atm, but what you say makes me think that the situation is:
- 2 survivors alive that can work on gens and open the exit gates
- 2 survivors body blocked
If that is the case, this is the first time I hear that this is considered a "holding the game hostage" - the game can finish, it's not hostage at all.
Now, if the game just started (or at least, it's still in the early stage) then I might understand why this is still a bannable offence (for griefing though, more than holding the game hostage...), but what if there's only one gen to go? what if the doors are open? Where's the line?
Because I refuse to believe that bodyblocking one, two, three or even 4 survivors with the gates open is considered "holding the game hostage", so, if the line is not "actions that prevent the game to come to an end", what is it?
"a survivor cannot do anything to progress" cannot be enough, otherwise even bodyblocking a survivor in a corner in the last 30 seconds before the EGC timer reaches zero would be bannable.
...again, I was not able to see the video, so if the scenario depicted is different (e.g. NO SURVIVOR can progress the game) then everything is different of course.
The line is when the doors are open. If it's endgame with all 4 survivors alive and one of them is blocked in the corner by the killer, if the survivors don't open the door then the killer is holding the person hostage and is bannable. If the door is open, it's fine as they're going to die in a couple minutes, no different from slugging.
The killer can hold them there a little while and hope the others open a door but they can't keep them there for an extended period without it being considered bannable. The extended period usually being a couple minutes.
There is also the situation of when survivors simply hide and refuse to do anything for an extended period. It's normally around 10 minutes or so that if survivors don't touch a gen or attempt to progress the game in any fashion, it's bannable for hostage holding.
Assuming they haven't changed their stance on any of this at least.
-
I find doing a bit of a crab walk helps. Don't have your camera looking right at the survivor but a bit to the left or right. It's easier to see where they go when spinning and I find the lunge doesn't get cut short nearly as often.
Other then that, just up your sensitivity and swing for the moon. It'll usually connect.

How about we make Spasmodic Breath basekit? That'd be fun lol.

People be sleeping on the new Lightweight. I've had killers lose me mid loop because my scratch marks just up and vanished.
I don't think it's meta but it's certainly very solid though admittedly a bit RNG based.
-
They are all pretty good. That Hag one I can't tell it's even a person, I thought it was some really well done art.
-
Nurse one was great. I love meme videos like this.
-
Eh, I'm neutral with most of the stuff since it doesn't actually change much of anything.
Thana nerf doesn't matter as it will still be used by only Legion, Plague, and the occasional Nurse adept. Nothing new there.
MoM was a niche perk that most people threw the game to use. It's been nerfed but will still be a niche perk people will throw the game to use. So again, nothing has changed.
They brought back the Pain Res/DMS combo but it's a little weaker. Nothing new that survivors haven't dealt with in the past.
Pretty meh overall. I would have liked to see DS back to 5 seconds or something to do with camping. I'd personally like to see increased hook times to go with the increased gens so survivors have more time to finish the gens if the killer is camping.
-
Never seen that before. That was pretty good.

There's a bunch of reasons why people do it but I find it super rude. Just kind of gives me bully vibes.
I'll stop now also mate. I get what your trying to say and I respect it but I just don't think what they're doing is anything other than rude. Literally have a draft saved from few months ago on this topic but never posted it.

But why do people need to reply? They're obviously upset and are venting. Sometimes we need to vent.
I bet 1000% if this person had 10,000 posts and said this the replys would be different.
I think that's the exact reason why. There's a pretty big difference in the responses based on a persons forum presence since people know them and will be more sympathetic whereas they won't be so kind to strangers.
They've been around since 2018 but with so few posts it feels like they're new and even though I have over 1k posts I bet I'd get similar responses as them since I don't have presence where as people would be sad if you made this post since you're quite well known.
It's almost like a family dynamic in a way. They'll hear out people they're close to while not caring about some random stranger, even though they are both going through the same thing.
Of course there are people sympathetic to a strangers problems like you and people like me who feel for them but also understand when other people don't.
But at this point I'm getting way off the original topic and getting a bit too real over a forum post when it's probably just people enjoy being sarcastic because it's funny in the moment.
-

God I hate how rude people can be to these threads. I don't see the point in replying to these if your not going say something nice.
Sorry your not enjoying the game mate. Chances are you'll be back because everyone comes back lol if you don't then I hope you enjoy your future games 👍
I mean, it'd be like if I went to a Dark Souls forum and started complaining about PvP and how I'm going to quit the games over it since I want to play online but have PvP be disabled.
Now don't get me wrong, I feel for the guy but I can understand where the snark comes from.

Good to know I've gotten it on doctor before I never knew that latency worked like this for deathslinger
Yup, as far as I'm aware that's how it goes. It seems like you were at the perfect distance/latency for the game to prioritize the vault over the shot even though it did look a bit weird.
It was sometime back but I've had it happen once when I was playing Slinger but it was against a really really laggy survivor. I shot them in the middle of shack and they proceeded to run and vault the window anyway. I wish I saved a clip of it as it was pretty funny watching a speared survivor just keep running without a care in the world.
-
It's because of latency and the queue priority system. You pressed the vault button before you were shot so it queue'd it up and let you vault even though you were shot after. Latency will also effect this.
It's the same thing as when you get shocked by Doctor but still vault anyway.
-
Probably a bug and it wouldn't be the first time oddly enough as I remember seeing threads like this before. I'd check Spirit, Clown and whoever else has some jiggle to confirm. Still weird this is a thing that's happened multiple times.

I've seen a lot of streamers with devotion in the 30's; Otz, Tru3, Tofu and the like. The highest I personally saw was some random streamer in the forties.

I like Sluzzy, as well as Orion when they were here. I also have a soft spot for Starlost because I disagree with some of their takes but I still enjoy reading them.
I like the other "Popular" members as well but I don't really have as much of an attachment as the above.

Not only have I done all the tomes but I also have every achievement!...except a couple of the news ones cause they just came out but still! Close enough. 😎

Yeah, I have her around bottom 5 in my tier list. She just doesn't feel great and is like a lesser version of other killers.
Wraith's stealth, Freddy's/Dredges teleport, and Pyramid Head's Mori are all better.
I think she needs some hefty buffs and one thing I'd do that I haven't seen mentioned is make it for every hook state, you get +2 (+3 with an addon) to your bar that can't be removed. That way hhen you're on death hook, it becomes easier to mori people, similar to Pyramid Head in a way.
Her teleport needs a massive buff as the cooldowns on the tv are way too long. Her stealth while worse then others is okay enough and I'd prefer buffs to the teleport and mori.
-
One possibility is that more people play with crossplay on so you have a better chance of getting solo's which will be a lot easier. Less people on crossplay off means that the 4-man swf that's been waiting a while is going to be thrown your way more often.
I don't play with crossplay on anymore as I had a few too many hacker games and my queue's are almost instant with it off anyway but when I did, I noticed very little difference in survivor skill. Obvious solo's got destroyed and SWF's did the destroying, same when it's off. The only thing I really noticed was that PC people could moonwalk better and that was about it. I think I've seen a single PS4 player that was able to moonwalk really well, like across the entire map well.
I did notice some killer differences though; Huntress and Nurse players mostly and they were overall a lot better on PC but I have played against a couple of them on PS4 that were comparable to PC, to the point I assume they had a M&K setup somehow. Like, constant super accurate crossmap hatchets and the match is already over in 5 seconds Nurses.
I played against a few stupidly good PC Spirits and have yet to see any PS4 Spirits that were nearly as good. On the other end, I never saw that good of a Blight on PC but have played against a few on PS4 that made me go "God Damn! They are good!"
Point being everyone has different experiences. I'm sure there are people out there who have had the opposite experience of you and think most PC players are super easy to go against. Personally, I think that outside of a few things it doesn't really matter what you play on and is more about the individuals skill.
