Banquet Flashlight: “hey guys, I’m rare and special!”
Uncommon Flashlight: (same exact stats) “Am I a joke to you?”
The event items are special in that they have different visuals than the base items or do some effect when you use them.
-
Yeah… I'll hold off on playing until this obvious oversight is remedied.
-
Yeah… while I can appreciate slow suspenseful reveals like this, I wish I'd have known nothing of import would be shown even 4+ hours into the stream when we were told "It's best seen live", it's now nearing 8am and I have to sleep or my whole day will be ruined.
-
You say it's busted but it does less than a regular Ghoul grab, as that adds deep wound too.
That said I know that is why a lot of people dislike Ghoul. -
For the record it's not as immediate as OP want to make it out to be, Wraith still has to slowly decloak, just doesn't have to bing bong first. But he won't lose as much distance since it removes the slowdown during said bing bong. Pre-running is still viable though if you know he has it, and as mentioned if you for some reason are running Repressed Alliance I guess you can use that before the pre-run if you're proactive enough.
-
My current main is The Dark Lord.
Though that might change, the reason I started maining him was because I loved playing wolf only Drac with the Warg Fang while it still gave aura read on all survivors whose scent orb you had sniffed from the first sniff to the end of the match (every time pounce went off cooldown), giving him really nice aura read nearly on demand. Sadly, despite the add-on text still saying it works that way, they changed it so it only show the auras of the survivors whose scent orbs you've collected since the last pounce. It's very sad.
I still enjoy playing him and undetectable wolf is always nice but I am on the look out for something else now, sadly nothing has wowed me so far. I mostly like stealth + aura killers but it's so hard playing things like Scratched Mirror when I can't reliably get indoor maps and the like. Same with Amanda's Letter Pig. -
This has been a known combo for the perk since it's launch, it's nothing new…
-
"The main issue isn't how fast the spot is filled, It that MMR does not work once the first killer leaves every other killer that is filled into that lobby is done so with no regard to MMR."
Where did you see anything about this? Why wouldn't MMR be taken into account? Surely the system knows what the lobby MMR is still and can add a killer of the correct level.
-
Afaik there are "techs" to hit survivors who are readying to drop pallets using short swings that will hit them as they vacuum into the drop pallet animation. Killers that lunge swing rarely will hit through pallets this way as the actual hit is more delayed so they get bonked before the hit connects.
Basically, it's working as intended and you either have to pre-drop or risk getting hit during the dropping animation.
-
Since there's 4 times the survivor players in each match compared to killers it's more likely that there will be something to complain about with how the survivors play (or don't play in the case of the insta-DCers or those that just give up if they're found first)
-
Pretty sure regular wolf bites are meant to count as basic M1s and the pounce does count as a special attack so I dunno what OP means by that…
-
I dunno, I enjoy me some trapper, especially in 2v8.
-
The answer to your topic question is simple. The power creep would be crazy.
The most used perks for survivor is things like windows, dead hard, sprint burst, decisive etc. To make any of those base kit would ruin any sense of balance.Same if you make the most popular killer perks such as Pain Resonance, Grim Embrace, Eruption, DMS etc. base kit.
You have to consider that not only will these effects now always be in play, people will be able to stack even more strong, but not as used, perks on top.
-
Crowman beat me to it, but yes, if all you wanna do is play customs, there's no need for BP as you have access to infinite items and all perks at tier 3. What else would you need to progress?
You think you should get iri shards for playing non-public games?
That would just mean certain people would bot farm customs like crazy and sell accounts with all the non-premium currency characters and cosmetics unlocked. -
I think I got maybe… 12 or so.
I'll hold off to the real BP grind with proper offerings during the anniversary, the eye offering were so trash, ate too much BP when prestiging and will only be an eyesore in the offering collection after the event is over. At least the cakes can be used all year round.
I tried to be nice and use cakes and streamers during this event but seeing everyone else just use the eyes made that really demoralizing. I think I can count the number of full cake/streamer lobbies I had this event on one hand. -
How is it too much of the game to ask that you watch the mori or the dying animation? It's just a few more seconds at most and then you're out.
Does it truly hurt so much on a mentality level to see your character die? Like, for real, is that it? Is it a blow to your ego?
I play mainly killer but I do play survivor with friends now and then and I've never felt the urge to abandon unless it's a situation where we're all slugged and it's gonna take a long while to get us all on hooks or mori'd.
Like especially moris are among the best things in the game and something the killers usually have to work pretty hard for so I'd hate missing out on them or taking away from it by leaving the killer with just a bot. -
I had this one match too, with the survivor I should be able to mini mori just vaulting a pallet over and over and not going in the floating animation. In the end I just grabbed them off the pallet and hooked them instead.
Survivors really do anything in their power to not be moried even finding obscure bugs :P (This is a joke, I know this is primarily a game issue not a mentality issue)
It didn't use to be like this though, it used to be that if you hit them during the vault they'd start floating as soon as they hit the ground on the other side. -
Played 12 matches last night
Nostromo
Ormond Lake Mine
Grim Pantry
Shattered Square
Rotten Fields
RPD West
Nostromo
Dead Dawg
Father Campbell's Chapel
Badham
Toba
Pale Rose
Only two Nostromo in 12 matches, I'm shocked xD But there was one Toba too.
So for realms:
3 x Dvarka Deepwood
2 x Backwater Swamp
1 x Ormond
1 x RPD
1 x Badham
1 x Grave of Glenvale
1 x Coldwind
1 x Decimated Borgo
1 x Crotus Penn
1 x Indoor and 11 x Outdoor. -
The point is feedback. There's been a number of times now where feedback has held back changes or made them adjust them, so I'd say it's working as intended.
-
Only time I've gotten a warning for intentionally dying was when a cheating Spirit killed me and my team in the first minute of the match. It's also a very specific warning, not just a matchmaking lockout.
So I don't think using Plot Twist would trigger anything like that. Unless you plot twist, get picked up by the killer, then plot twist right off hook and is picked up and hooked again only to die on the hook. -
The killer is meant to be the hunter, it's meant to have info to lead it to it's next target.
The survivors can play around it in many ways,.Like if they think the killer has BBQ, just hop a locker for a few seconds when the killer hooks.
If you know the killer has Friends Till the End make sure you go in a locker for 10 seconds if you're the obsession and someone is getting hooked. The scream doesn't give aura, only the location bubble so you can sneak away if you're hit by it as long as you're not hovering around the killer.
The in chase aura perks generally have really long cooldowns so while they might help with a mindgame here and there I wouldn't say they're consistent enough to be like an auto win or anything, especially not against good survivors.
If the killer instantly go for your hiding spot after kicking a gen you can be pretty sure they have NTH, so just stop hiding close to generators. Sure the effect follows the killer for the duration but it's really not that long, even with Lethal.
Darkness Revealed can be strong but on some maps the locker placement is so scuffed that you get nearly no value out of it.
Run perks like We See You, so that you can punish killers with lots of Aura read if you think it's such a powerful thing. Clearly having 15 seconds of aura read on the killer every 4 times they see you, for the whole team, is stronger than the killer seeing you for a few seconds now and then. -
On killer I also feel like Nostromo is at least every third map or so, some times I get Toba Landing instead but then two maps later it's back to Nostromo. It's really weird.
Edit: I don't really dislike the map or anything but when you get it so often it gets a bit grating xD -

Spookyloops made a really good point imagine your a new player to DBD you see these perks and those simplified descriptions like Sprint burst 50% haste and you run a build that gets diminished.
How are you genuinely supposed to know? Your 50% Sprintburst is now 10% being useless and you don't know why? How come while your picking your perks if any perks trigger diminishing returns is highlighted red to indicate your perks are weaker?
This system seems so genuinely flawed is going to do more harm then good.
In what scenario would you have so many stacked haste perks and effects that Sprint Burst would only be at 20% effectiveness? xD Considering that means at least two of them gives more than 50% haste.
From what I understood you will only get diminishing returns when you are affected buy the various effects and you always get 100% of the strongest effect. It's just that combinations like Hope + Sprint burst will now give 53.5% haste rather than 57% because Hope would only work at 50% effectiveness while Sprint Burst is applied, then go back to full 7% after SB runs out. -
Generally you can't queue with people on a different version of the game than yourself afaik, so if that guy didn't close or update the game since before Legion was kill switched he would only be able to play against other people that also didn't close or update the game since then.
Or was Legion only kill switched after the last hotfix?
Either way I'm pretty sure I've seen characters and perks be kill switched mid gaming session so it shouldn't matter. -
As a killer main that loves my aura perks and add-ons I can only disagree.
If we get less aura, meaning it will take me forever to find the last couple of survivors or to get from chase to chase so I'm just running around looking for people hiding in bushes or tall grass, it'd kill my interest in the game. The chases are the whole point of the game.
If you hate it so much just get Eleven and run We See You, then you have aura consistently too. Throw in Object of Obsession and Eyes of Belmont too for good measure :D -

Its not a bug. Infact during the fnaf anniversary people were complaining that you get less offerings in the lvl 50 bloodweb than you used to, sometimes none, and their response was to guarantee only 1 shows up every lvl 50 bloodweb.
I have 8 p100s and only about 3 of them were leveled during bloodmoon. If i go into my bloodweb now on say trevor, theres 1 eye ball in the entire huge bloodweb. To get another one i have to use points on everything elss in the web to make it go to the next one, which again shows only 1 more eyeball. Making each one quite expensive.
As apose to leveling any other character who gets them thrown in every level or 2 with like 5 - 10 items to pick per level. They can build them up very quickly.
Before the change in the fnaf anniversary, a level 50 bloodweb could have something like 4 or 5 event offerings per bloodweb which made it rather easy to stock up on them, and it didnt feel like such a waste of points because youd aquire them quickly and inexpensively. This also happens with manual or auto bloodweb.
Oh, sorry, that sounds perfectly reasonable though. I thought you only got one event offering per full prestige for some reason. Which now that I'm more awake makes no sense since you can't prestige after 100 xD
One event offering per blood web "page" doesn't sound like an issue that's the same as non-P100s in my experience. -
This sounds like a bug, but I have no p100 to test it on. I do know that in a previous event, might have been last year's anniversary event, you got way more event offerings if you went throught he web manually compared to the auto buy, might be the same issue still.
-
I generally go for option 2 and in some cases this instead makes them so hellbent on punishing me for not pandering to their sad wishes that they actually play as sweaty as they can, sometimes even making the survivor team win matches that would have been lost had they DCed or bled out. My naive hope is that those matches will make them less likely to give up in the future but we all know that's unlikely.

In-game report does not give notification of bans as I told you. They don't reveal that information for anyone.
If you report in-game and the report is processed you will generally get a notification saying they looked into the report and the appropriate actions were taken, it won't say whether these actions were a ban or just a closing of the report with no penalty however.
In fact I got one of those tonight, regarding a report I sent in yesterday morning, as I logged in. -
I get it's upsetting if what you said is true, but considering I've had one cheater in my past like 50 games I feel like this was a massive outlier.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/466040/why-arent-crosshairs-basekit
It's from a discusion I've red a while ago by a community manager:
He basically said that they design killers in a way where it's not really needed to use a crosshair so they won't build it in basekit. That being said he also said that they can't do anything about us using them anyways, so if want we can so this. (With the risk of easy anticheat of course. So they can't unban you if it picks it up somehow.)
There's no risk of ECAC when it's a built in function of our monitors.
-
They can't do anything to help SoloQ with the items and perks as that would just strengthen SWF too…
SoloQ got the UI improvements and those were big. The only think I could see added would be a notification system like pickable lines like "Going for unhook", "Luring killer", "Staying on gen" etc. -
I voted for this one too, it was a really hard choice between this and the second one. But I liked this one as it gives the feeling of an angel corrupted by the Entity. With the legs, and the wings could be crow wings too.
-
Considering every game that implement spiders these days always has to have an Arachnophobia mode, I can't wait to see what DbD would have to implement :P
Edit: That said, I'd be all for a bipedal lizard killer, could be some scary acid spitting swamp monster or some such. -

Apparently its not fixed, they reset again after the event came out.
Are you sure you're not looking at the event lobby presets? They are separate from the regular ones.
-
This should only be the case in the event mode, if you go to the normal lobbies it should all still be there. The events seem to have separate saved load outs.

Michael MyersMichael Myers was my favorite killer but due to the patch update they rendered him handicapped they took away on two counts one they took away his vanity mirror they used it now for a different utility you no longer have a 16 m aura reading ability increase lunch and quicker speed and terror radius in pursuer mode. They completely did away with that. With the scratch vanity mirror you get a 32 m aura reading ability, lower speed decrease lunge but no terror radius. But it used to be a rare item now they made a visceral so you rarely ever get it what they did to Michael Myers was crazy and I think it was wrong.
I've been for stealth kill to ghost face , & 4 zone control with clown 🤡
I I put a pull out and I also put a recommendation in their feedback regarding all this cuz I'm not the only player shares the sentiment
I meant to quote this in the previous post xD
-
The new version of Scratched Mirror is basically a stronger version of Vanity Mirror though. You have the speed and the lunge but now also the 100% undetectable. Just go Scratched Mirror and Memorial Flowers.
-
Awoocula (AKA wolf only Drac)
Deathslinger
Scratched Mirror Myers, especially after the rework. -
They did though. You just have to look at the right patch notes.
They decided to hold back on the big parts of anti-slugging and anti-tunneling to test it further in the future with some adjustments.
What did make it is that you now auto-recover while on the ground and not moving and once you hit the point where you can get off the ground with any of the perks that does that, like Unbreakable, Conviction or Plot Twist, you can press a button and get up. This is to prevent the auto recovery from picking you up automatically.
-
The big question is that if they made it permanent but took away the BP rewards, making it truly casual (since you don't need perks or items to play it so BP isn't needed for it) how many would still play?
Players are always drawn to the big BP incentives so of course 2v8 has a lot of players.
-
It might have some growing pains, but it's not that hard to learn that when Myers plays the Halloween music it means that you can get insta-downed until the tune that signifies he went out of T3/Evil Incarnate plays.
As it is now the Exposed icon will show you if you're facing the fully new Myers or someone using the Add-on that makes him more like his old version, as that add-on applies Exposed instead of giving him the charge up dash. So you know to play against him differently.
-
Yeah, I played a game with Xeno just to compare and in a game where I barely used my tail, all I did was destroy some turrets, and not that many of those either. Came out of the match with 8k deviousness… like what gives xD
-
I have to admit I'm getting better at getting some Deviousness events now, but even when I'm nearing the 10k on all three other categories I'm rarely above 4k in Deviousness. I do hope they tinker a bit with it. Like give him a small amount from just slinging himself, doesn't have to be much but at least something.
-
What I think is missing is more score events if you get a hit shortly after a swing. Always hitting the grab is detrimental to playing the character, more often then not the proper play is to swing past and block the survivor and then get a basic attack in.
I haven't paid attention so I don't know if he get anything like that, but I think he should have something similar to "lethal blinks" with Nurse.
-
Nemesis is in a good spot.
But I wouldn't mind the AI of the zombies getting a tuning. At least so they stop getting stuck on terrain, sometimes so bad that survivors can hug them from the front and they don't act at all, they just stand there in their own little world.
-
I think the intended way to use Blast Mine is more if you have to leave a gen prematurely, not when being chased off by the killer.
That way if the killer comes by while you're off doing your other task, be it healing someone or whatever, and he see the progressed gen he might kick it to apply CoB or other gen kicking perks and you get the blind.
It can also be used if you know the killer is coming from aura reading (or SWF communication) and you place it and sneak away without him seeing you. Then when he kicks you get time to properly escape the area.
I don't think it was ever intended to be used offensively.
-
I just see it as the killer watching their pray make a fool of themselves before striking. It's extra fun now since the survivors most often run in to hug you as they use it (FOV tech) and then you get to slap them to the ground for their hubris.
The only time it gets me now is when they use it in situations where they can round a corner to a vault and I know that either I swing and hope they don't have DH or they get away and prolong the chase anyways.
-
So far it seems to be Evil Incarnate, since every time I get close some boring survivor will just refuse to leave their precious locker so I can't get the last mori. Maybe when the new endgame mori change comes I'll get it.

Thanks, that explains how absurdly difficult it has been to properly time DH.
Well, you mentioned "Dead Hard for distance" so it makes sense people assumed you didn't know of the change to Dead Hard (removing the distance portion and instead giving you 0.5 seconds of Endurance).
As for the "Yes it's bugged" comment, that's a troll. The perk works perfectly fine, to the point I'm seeing it more often than the other Exhaustion again. People just needed time to relearn how to use it.
