It is absolutely a buff. If you're denying that, you should do some research on what buff means.
Making something work as intended isn't a buff, it's a fix. It's an annoying fix, but still a fix. A buff insinuate they added something to it.

I'd rather people just left as soon as the doors open than offer me free hooks/kills. Once the doors open if I'm not in a chase I believe I can win I'll just start patrolling around the map to see if there's any pallets I didn't destroy and such instead. But survivors almost always just stand there at the very edge until there's but seconds left on the timer. It's so annoying, nearly up there with vault spammers and clickers.
Edit: Only time I was ok with people doing that was when I played Tomestone Myers and managed to grab one of them out of the exit after they left and kill them. Looked funny as I was holding no one, just stabbing the air and yet the guy that escaped was suddenly killed when it was done.

Too bad it’s here to stay we’re not here to make your matches fun.
Speak for yourself, as killer main I always try to make the matches fair and fun and I still win more than half my games.
That said I still love playing as Bubba. But I also never camp with him. I get double downs at hook sometimes still when the survivor I'm chasing decide it's a good plan to take a detour to unhook mid chase, it happens more than I would have thought and I'm not nice enough to let them get away with that kind of behavior.

yeah! it was a freddy! but ive never seen survivors walk like that while asleep. and there were several times i was asleep and my character didnt walk like that
I can't say this for sure as I've never played against Freddy only as him, but I believe you don't see it while asleep yourself. Since then you're in the dream, and in the dream you believe you're awake. so you and the other survivors should appear awake in there.
Freddy don't see you run around all sluggish from what I've noticed and he's always in the dream after all.

For number 1, are you sure it was still contagious? It doesn't stay super long unless you use add-ons for it.
For the other two what was said above is likely the cause.
If anything the fact that they do the teleport on down is a good indication that Dead Hard will also screw you as killer since you're desynced. I keep getting hits on my end with screams and blood splatter only for the survivor to just keep running, they don't even do the DH animation but it's probably what it was. I don't get the long post hit animation of course, just the shorter miss animation, but it's still annoying.
-
It's already generally easier to farm BP as killer. I say this as a killer main. I mean you can end a game with 0 kills and still have near 30k BP. While I see survivors win at just around 20k a lot of the time.
Imagine how much uproar there would be if they added more rewards that not everyone can get. These forums are already full of people complaining about pretty much everything. It would just add more of that complaining from people that think they're better than they are.
-
Meanwhile I got 350k or something and I actively avoid map offerings in the blood web so I thought I had near none.
-
Usually once, but only if I play past midnight as Steam goes down for maintenance kicking all Steam players out of the game until it's done.
-
I did it a while back by just making sure the BoP bloodlust triggered and then hit people, it made for an awkward game as I had to force chases longer than 15 seconds several times. The Survivors were confused.
Due to the time loss it was a lost game for me though so I don't think the perk itself is of any real use.
-
As a killer there's nothing as boring as people DCing after their first down.
Learn to accept that you will be up against any one of the killers and when it's one you don't prefer, just grit your teeth and do your best. Who knows, it might be someone that's not good with that killer, maybe they were lucky with that first down, perhaps it will be your easiest win in days, but you'll never know if you quit in the first minute.
If I were in charge the DC ban would be longer by default, since you ruin the game for four other people.
-
I would honestly never recommend anyone go into DbD blind. At least have them watch streamers for a while. I'd suggest somewhat smaller streamers where they can ask basic questions and get answers. Big streamers might miss their questions.
The very best opton is doing KYF though, with all players on comms so you can talk them through the different killer's powers and how to counter it. Let them practice chases without actually killing them and so on. And then, when they feel they have a grasp of the basics you can send them out in the wild :P
-
Odd, I got no questions about other killers than Pinhead and not about any maps...
To me the survey won't really mean anything unless everyone get the same questions apart from the ones that require you answered yes on a previous question like the ones about multiple platforms or Discord.
-
These were the first I found and the first as you can see still say that.
-
Depends on the killer, but when I do it's usually Pop or Ruin or both. I don't have Corrupt so can't run that.
Surge or Erupt can be good too, I prefer Erupt of the two and sometime combo it with Pop to create an extra evil pop.
-
To me the optimal outcome in a game like this is 5 gens popped and one escape.
That means the survivors had enough pressure that they got their first main objective done, but the killer had enough pressure that he could punish them for it. As in Killer should optimally get 2 kills during the first 4 gens and one after the 5th is popped.
One thing I feel should be a thing is making the time after the gates are powered much scarier for the survivors. At that point perks like BT and DS should become inactive. It should be a really dangerous choice to go back in for a save at that point. The killer should be in constant Tier 1 bloodlust, but it shouldn't trigger things like Beast of Prey, if anything they should be even more noticable to up the scare factor.
As it is now if there's more than two survivors left when the gates are powered it's usually the least scary part of the game as they can split up and 99% both gates. If someone gets downed they can BT, DS, and body block all the way to the gate making it an easy escape.

I’ve been playing both sides and I never get told to off myself unless I facecamp so it could be your playstyle maybe? You can also close chat and just move on to the next match. It’s just some random person on the internet, their opinion shouldn’t mean anything to you
Playstyle might have an effect, but I've been called a camper that should get cancer or off myself many times while running Hex: Devour Hope and intentionally made my utmost to get away from hooks. To some people if they got killed you must have camped or tunneled.
It's the same in games where I don't run Devour and I hear people running in to save while I'm hooking and I sweep the area and find them and chase them off, that's also camping apparently. The only right answer is to just let them unhook and heal before I start chase it seems :P
Or if I down someone and I know there's people with flashlights around or they're under a pallet and I know there's survivors around ready to run in and pallet stun as soon as I pick up. If I leave the guy on the ground and slug the rest too while they flail around trying get in and heal that's apparently me being bad at the game.
Most of the time there's no acceptable soulution other than to let the survivors farm BP and that I let them all go as they click and teabag at the exit gate until I physically force them out.

I like how this thread is basically:
- -Well stated argument to why it's unfair to use stretched res-
- -"No, show proof!"-
- -Proof is provided-
- -Proof is ignored and they instead reply to a different post starting from step 2 again-

Steam services goes down for maintenance almost every, if not every, night around midnight-1am UK time. When this happen it will kick all Steam players out of their matches. (You can see it's the reason as your Steam Friends list will show as Disconnected too) It's honestly the thing that usually end up making me so angry I stop for the night, because it always happen when I'm having a really good game. The game itself don't really get to me but losing out on a good match because Steam goes down really rub me in a bad way.
I sorta wish they would give the BP earned during the match when this happen, it must be possible to tell when a big chunk of the players DC more or less at the same time and give them the same treatment as we got during the Pinhead disconnects.
-
As a sort of follow up to this thread. A similar but not entirely the same situation.
As killer you get a couple of quick downs early in the game, perhaps even before the first gen pops. Suddenly one or two of the survivors start chasing you trying to get you to kill them because they give up, long before the game is even over.
Should we adhere to their wishes and down them and hook them so they can suicide or should we ignore them and focus on playing a casual game with the remaining survivors.
Personally I usually go with ignoring them and after they notice I won't do as they want they'll scamper off and go back to playing the game but others just start pallet vaulting near a hook to have me come to them instead of following me around.
The issue is that if I do kill them it might make the other survivors just give up too and it ruins the entire match. Which is even more annoying when people brought cakes or BPS.

Yeah sure. You know you can ran faster with more frames do you?
Only very poorly coded games has their frame rate affect game speed. As someone that try to run all my games at 144 fps, like my monitor is capable of, I'm glad that's the case.
That or really old games back from when frame rate wasn't really an issue.

The people that says it's your fault if you let it get to you probably think the same of bullying in school.
If the person being abused shows any sign of annoyance after it constantly happening for hours on end it's their own fault.
Totally reasonable mindset /s

No, i don't know. And it's not.
Only weak mindsets believe that is a toxic behaviour.
Toxic means a lot worse things.
I feel it's obvious you have issues with the fact that there is verbal toxicity and there's toxic game play.
Yes, throwing slurs at and wishing cancer on someone else in the end game chat is toxic. It's verbal toxicity.
Going out of your way to make the game miserable for other players during the match is also toxic. It's toxic game play.
I usually just ignore the flashlight clickers and vault spammers, but that doesn't mean the constant alerts and the click sound from people with clicking macros isn't constantly annoying me, making the game less enjoyable to play. Having explosions going off constantly makes listening for footsteps and breathing harder too.
It just feels like you wanna defend your own behaviour because you don't wanna accept you're a toxic player.

Mhm, yes, completely impossible very survivor sided, yes correct.
I mean... as a killer main if that hadn't hit the survivor I'd have been fuming. The killer's attack clearly hit before the pallet fell, dropping a pallet shouldn't give the survivors invincibility frames.

Whenever someone gets off a gen instead of being poppable they start shooting out sparks and become impossible to hit, this is a ridiculous issue to have, especially when challenges like "kick 25 gens" exist. Please fix the gens so they don't do that every single time, if someone gets off a gen while in the middle of a skill check I get it, but when they regularly get off a gen in the middle of doing one there's absolutely no reason why sparks should shoot out and it should become untargetable.
I have to ask... you're not running Hex:Ruin are you? If you are that would explain it.
-
Well, knowing how anti-cheat systems work, they're likely constantly working on it, usually they log people for a long time before they roll out the real update to block the hacks/cheats. Then they ban them all in a wave.
But, also knowing how things work from the other side, the people developing the hacks constantly work on new workarounds and can often roll them out soon after the current system breaks what they had before. It's basically always a tug of war between the anti cheat system and the cheat makers.
Demanding a cure all that will stop the cheats forever is a naïve dream sadly.

Getting them contaminated isn't worth having to hit them 3 times when Zombie's almost never get hits
This is only true if you don't use audio to track the survivors or want to have the ability to damage people during/after vaults or over terrain. Don't underestimate the whip's power.
-
Play them even less as I can't get kills with them as it is, really not my play style.
-
I have personally only encountered 1 obvious cheater in over 500 hours of play, and I've seen one in a streamer's lobby once.
Highly doubt the issue is as bad as some want to make it seem.

whats does solving mystery box do ? for survivors
not just the killer don’t know .. even some of us don’t know
Solving the cube as the survivors prevent the chain hunt. If it has started picking it up will stop it for all other teammates, solving it stops it for you as well, making sure it's gone until the new cube spawns and then the chain around your portrait has to be filled again giving you time to fetch the cube again.
If the Cenobite teleports to you while you solve it it will count as instantly solved but you'll be in a chase with him.
If the Cenobite finds the cube himself and pick it up, or if he down the survivor holding the cube, he starts a chain hunt on all survivors that will continue until the cube spawns again.
-
If you can position yourself in a more close space the chains will spawn and hit obstacles most of the time. Your best option to do this is if you find the cube before the hunt has started and can get to such a location before the cog around your portrait is filled out and the chain hunt start on you.
Such locations also mean it's likely the Cenobite spawn on the other side of obstacles or the like and you can get a head start on the following chase, rather than solving it in the open where the Cenobite can instantly go for you.
Solving the cube in the killer's shack while the basement is there has put me, as the killer, in the basement rather than on ground level, giving the survivor all the time in the world to leave.

Have ya seen Nemesis before?
Yes, I have played the RE games. Have you ever played DbD? Because if you had you would see how that wouldn't work in it.

I too had my game crash after my match around 2am CEST last night. Grades were reset and there was no reward.

I assume you assume everything that isn't your thoughts is a troll
Ok, sure. But you're also suggesting we give a killer in DbD a rocket launcher.

@crixus006 said:
Nemesis is the only killer that needs to hit 3 times. What is the effect of the T virus?
Nemesis only need 2 hits if you use regular M1 (basic attacks). The whip is there to apply the virus. if they are infected you can damage people from long distances and over obstacles with the whip.
Your Zombies can also damage them if they're infected. I've had several situations where the survivor was infected, I punched them and they ran straight into a zombie around a corner and was downed.
The virus also make survivors go out of their way to cure it, keeping them off gens.
Edit: The virus also make them cough so they make extra sounds even when in the healed state.
-
I'm assuming this is a troll, Nemesis is my favorite killer in his current state.

If you were in a match at 00:00:00 UTC, you crashed at the end screen and got reset without reward.
That's what its looking like.
Yeah this match my experience.
-
I'm on PC and I didn't get any.
-
The new Grades does not equal skill, they're mostly just an indication of playtime.
The actual skill rating is hidden and works in the background.
-
As sad as it is you have to play many games and the killer you get matched with also must have played many games since the SBMM was added to have been placed appropriately. You just have to power through and eventually the system will work as intended.
-
People really need to give SBMM a couple of weeks to place people properly before they complain. Of course it wont be perfect right off the bat.
That said my favorite killers are Nemesis and Pinhead. Huntress is good too, or Ghostface if you like being sneaky. Wraith is a lot of fun as well. Oh and Pig... and Deathslinger. And Doctor. Basically all killers are decent, it depends on your playstyle.
-
To me a sweaty player is someone taking the game much too serious, not trying to have fun only to win.
It can also be teams that have one or two players that are really good at running and looping killers working alone or in tandem to just make life miserable for the killer, if you ignore them they will vault spam constantly to overwhelm you with notifications drowning out all other sounds so you can't track the others as easily.
I don't play Survivor so I can't for sure say what a sweaty killer would be, but I guess Ruin + Undying, Noed, BBQ running killers would be the closest to it.
-
This is just me speculating but I'd say that unlike the regular pips it keep adjusting even if you reach Iri 1, then it stays even after the ranks reset so starting next reset the Rank won't really mean anything other than playtime that month.
So even if it does use the same metrics as the pips, unlike the pips it will always be adjusting in the background.
-
I've only ever noticed one in my own games and saw a really blatant on in a stream. That's over near 500 hours, so it can't be that bad.
-
I'm a killer main and I often sacrifice games I could have easily 4k'd because I'm so done with the salt I get from the survivors at the end, many going so far as to ######### talk me on my Steam profile. To make it less likely I get insulted at the end I avoid hitting people I know was just rescued, even though they're making it real easy to do so, baiting BT and DS.
In the end though what's being said here is that these tactics work, meaning they're not crap tactics just tactics the survivors have to learn to play around.
Slugging is always brought up in these posts. Slugging sorta require several survivors to be in a small space, so maybe spread out a bit more. Go for quick pick ups when the killer goes away or wait for them to hook and then rescue. If you consider it slugging if the killer doesn't instantly pick up the downed survivor and instead knows there are or looks for nearby survivors first and injure or down them too, then you're delusional.
As for camping. If the Killer camps punish him yourself by doing gens and get good, spread out, last three gens.
Tunneling can't really be countered unless the tunneled person is a really good runner. But again, if you do gens while the Killer tunnels then they're still being punished for not spreading the pressure.
-
Well, they have to have something to pad the blood web with else we'd only get good stuff all the time and that can't happen :P
As a killer I always keep wishing I didn't keep getting expensive map offering that I'll never use. I don't care what map I get as long as it isn't Haddonfield. I wish I could just trade all the useless map offerings as killer into the offering that blocks map offerings.
As for nemesis, I'd say he has quite a few decent add-ons, people just really underestimate the zombies and their buffs. They can be worse for the survivors than people realize.
-
Keys wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the salt you get if you tunnel the person you see holding the key.
To not be a douschebag as a killer I generally make sure I split my downs as much as possible, and I can't even count the times that's led to 3 or 4 survivors escaping through the hatch using keys in the late game.
The one time I managed to down the key holder right before they opened the hatch, and slugged their teammates waiting nearby, ending with a 4k for me I was wished cancer on me and my family...
-
I have to say that 50% of the reason I bought the DLC was because of having seen streams and vidoes with the classic voice lines. It was so refreshing seeing a killer like that. Made him both more terrifying and I admit made me giggle many times because I'm "immature".
I never even considered they'd end up removing the lines considering the hype they brought during the PTB so I didn't check the patch notes until they loaded up after launching the game, having bought the chapter already, so I feel a bit cheated.
I really hope it's a technical thing and they'll come back eventually because I really like Pinhead as a killer ability-wise but will always be missing the lines.
