  • I say "ggwp" regardless of the result of the game, even when I get tunneled out in the first 3 minutes of the match as long as my friend is still playing so I have a reason to spectate.

Only time I don't is when I play killer and the survivors were extra toxic.

  • Good job!

She can be a blast and, as someone mentioned, feels really satisfying when you start to land those snipes.

Newer accounts that don't have a lot of posts get auto-flagged as spam when they get edited. The mods manually review to make sure it's not and I think it's sometime after 100 posts or so is when they stop getting auto-flagged.

Thanks for the info! I did just reach 100 posts like a couple of days ago but I've been on the forums for one year and one day today :P

Makes sense though, hope fully it'll stop soon enough or I'll just have to learn to properly proofread my posts before I hit that "Post Comment" button xD

    Wait?

Who on earth interprets having nuts shoved in your face as hello!?

Since you're not actually on top of the person when you do it it's not the same as the teabags of old FPS games. It's just quick crouches but the term teabag has come to just mean that.

Edit: Why do the forums keep eating my comments after I make small edits to fix grammar or typos? Last time it came back randomly, I hope it does now as well xD

  • Context is important for "teabags", Since we have no real means of communication in the game I and most others use teabags was a way to say thanks after you get a heal from a team mate or as a greeting at the start of the match. When directed at a killer I'd say one or two teabags is the same if they give you hatch or let you escape, a nod works well in these situations too.

If you teabag after every pre-dropped pallet or the like the teabag is used aggressively, you want to taunt the killer and make them play worse. It can be considered a tactic but it's no less unsportsmanlike than a killer letting you bleed out rather than hooking or that hit you on the hook.

That said, if you did a clever play and teabag once or twice during the entire match as to say "Got ya!" it's the same as when you as killer give the annoying clicker or teabagger a few nods after you get them on the ground, it's not meant to be an insult just a way to convey that maybe you're not as bad as they thought.

Waiting at the exit when you've already won just to teabag the killer is worse than the rest though, it's only ever used to mock the killer, who can do nothing to change the outcome at that point, more often than not used by people that you got two hooks on early and then decided to go easy on as to not ruin their fun, often followed by "ggez" in the end game chat. It's immature and a waste of everyone's time. Even if you don't teabag, requiring that the killer watch you leave is only annoying and a waste of time.

Idk about Destiny because I don’t play that game, but I have not seen anything I got in Lost Ark in the in-game store. Leading me to believe that the only way to get that loot is via prime gaming.

To me, it’s misleading advertising and even if there are no merits in the wording to conclude that it is 100% exclusive, it is still bad business when you as a company know that you are releasing a product that you have already released prior… on a platform which some have simply to gain access to an unreleased cosmetic. Those people just wasted money on something that they already bought before. It’s a bad look.

If you sub to Prime solely for a DbD skin you're weird. You get so much value out of Prime, the random little game stuff is just bonuses.

You get a free sub to send to your favorite streamer, you get a number of free games each month, you can watch all of Prime Video, you can get free delivery on some Amazon orders. The little bundles of in game loot for all the various games they offer is just extra.

If you call that wasted money then you went in with the wrong idea imo.

  • To me it's an intentionally vague thing that depends on how you enter the Trial.

If you enter through Solo Q then you're just a stranger to the other survivors. You don't know them, you've never seen them before, you only know your objectives because the Entity informed you before the Trial. You will do what you can to make sure you all make it, but in the end they are nothing to you and your own survival trumps theirs.

If you enter as a SWF, no matter the size, you and the ones you queued into the Trial with made a connection in whatever place the survivors stay in between Trials. You formed a team and promised that you all were gonna get through this together. Leaving them behind will only be an option if they tell you to.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/345805/both-blast-mine-and-wiretap-need-buffs

For Blast Mine I understand the cooldown, for me the issue with Blast Mine is that you have to touch a generator for 3 seconds to even place it. The activation time might be a bit faster IMO too, because lets be honest, if you placed one, it takes forever to get a second one and the killer often kicks the gen anyway. I dont think Blastmine is powerful enough to impact a killers game too much.

As for Wiretap, well, I do consider the 14 meters to be fine, because Open Handed exists. But I'd say the cooldown is basically there just to create 3 tiers. Instead I would say 10/12/14 meters of aura reading. People might say that it would give too much info, but lets be honest, even on a map like Midwich, having 4 wiretaps and Open Handed might give a huge range of vision, IF the killer never damages the generators.

Maybe there is an issue with generators being completed, and that would be a fair statement as that would be perma vision, but even then, I wouldnt really think too much of it. Because to finish multiple generators with Wiretap active is a difficult task, and it would be a natural reward.

Open Handed does not make the aura reading on Wiretap larger. That said 14 meters is still further than people realize.

So then explain how this isn’t happening in other games because in those Exclusive means that Exclusive. Meaning only prime members will own it.

So yes, it is false/misleading advertisement because the contract (the agreement between the consumer and prime gaming) reads exclusive. There is no fine print or word that says otherwise.

Just because BHVR decides they want to use it loosely when they themselves have exclusive cosmetics in other parts of their game (mobile etc) and should understand how it works, doesn’t mean it’s not.

There has been offers every month for over a year I think for stuff in Destiny 2, not a single one of those has been fully exclusive to Prime Members but also acquirable in the game.

The specific bundle they offer is still exclusive.

Just like how the bundle of all three parts of the Plagues Rift skin for "free" using a redeem code is still an exclusive offer, not offered anywhere else at that time.

Yea its just crazy that no one wants to play survivor any more. I wonder why lol.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3177274#Comment_3177274

I doubt it. Killer queues have been terrible lately and it seems they are only getting worse.

Up until the big Meta patch in June I had maybe like 10 hours out of my then near 1000 hours on Survivors.

Since then I'm more or less a 50/50 player since Survivor got SO much more fun to play.

  • The first thing I'll say is If three gens are done all is permitted, tunnel, slug, camp, do what has to be done to regain the pressure.

Also, if someone is hooked after Player A then Player A is free game again.

It's only truly tunneling if you hook Player A and then wait until they're unhooked only to go for them again straight away. If you take your time to get a second player down and hooked while the others unhook the first you've done your job of spreading the hooks..

  • I've seen it on killers during night time a few times, usually 50% but for a magical half an hour I saw it at 100%.

  • The loud minority will always be 90% hyperbole.

This is why it's good that BHVR is paying attention to data and not just who screams the loudest on the forums.

Jewel beetle is the big funny when combined with the addon that increases throw distance

    It sure is :D

    Yeet that survivor!

  • When you hit someone with a Bound as Wesker it will launch you an additional distance. That's what's referred to as the extension as it makes you launch even further than you normally would if you hadn't hit them.

Add-ons like the Jewel Beetle halves this extra distance and makes you throw the survivor sooner after hitting them. Or extends it further in the case of the Chalice.

  • This doesn't seem right, I get matched with both Russian and UK streamers all the time. And there's been some Italian ones in there too.

Guess it could be down to VPNs but I dunno.

  • In my opinion her birds work best if you use them one at a time. That way they recharge faster after sending them off or they go away after idling.

It's important to remember that the birds deal instant damage if they hit a survivor within the line in front of the bird if unobstructed. This can be great in loops, since pallets and window vaults don't count as obstructions, if you can place a bird and then herd the survivor into it. I get more injuries on survivors this way than M1 attacks.

Also, if you use only one bird you can line up and hit a second bird before they have the time to disperse the swarm they have on. It's good to remember that if they interrupt the dispersion of the swarm at any point to vault or drop a pallet the action resets and they have to start over from the start again.

As for builds I enjoy Discordance for cross map harassment. Paired with Dead Man's Switch it can be quite a bother for the survivors. Other than that I usually just take something depending on my mood. Deadlock is always nice to keep the gens blocked even during chases.

For add-ons my favorite is the Charcoal stick, as unobservant survivors might miss where you place your birds and what way they're facing. And since they have no aura in flight they can more effectively hit survivors on gens cross map.

Severed hands is also great, especially together with Discordance. Spreading that swarm.

Garden of Rot is probably the most oppressive add-on she has. Using that you don't need to focus on damaging the survivors with your birds, just swarm them and chase after them while they clear the swarm then punish them. Setting up another bird to incentivize them to disperse the swarm can still be good.

Edit: I had a reply typed up and sent in this thread but I wanted to fix a typo with edit and the whole post vanished...

  • This was the post that disappered for me first, mentioned in the edit below, ignore it, the second was better written xD

  • What happens? The pallet drop on the wrong side, despite you not walking through to the other side yet?

You were roughly 1/3rd though to the other side of the pallet, so of course it drops in on the side it did.

  • It's hard to deny that he has some janky moments with his power here's a couple of clips I recorded yesterday:

    https://youtu.be/j9dWkSFcqnc https://youtu.be/BPqWWAUSLl4

  • From my experience playing Wesker for about 8 hours yesterday the new grab hitbox is a bit too unforgiving. There were many times where I seemed to just phase through the survivors. As it is now you have to aim so that from your perspective you bound in front of the survivor or it will miss. You can even miss point blank bounds where you're looking straight at the survivor.

The collision hitbox for the terrain seems pretty good. Though I did get stuck on small rocks now and then on some maps where I wouldn't have thought I'd get stuck. There was a few of those spots around the small two story main building on MacMillan (Coal tower I think it is) near the loops outside for example.

  • I can add to the last comment that it happened to be as well. During a custom game with two friends.

  • Billy, I swear his chainsaw sprint magnetize to the nearest object 90% of the time. I can make sure I don't press any buttons or move the mouse and he just turn straight into the nearest debris.

So to the people saying that Nemesis's tentacle functions like a push...can you explain this?

    https://youtu.be/xa-0iRrtPgE

    I can't explain this but it's hilarious :D

As someone that play a lot on Nemesis I know this pain. It's always such a nice and exciting moment when the game prioritize the thing you're not trying for, be it to hit that survivor or be it the pallet or breakable wall. It's uncanny how often the wrong thing is hit.

  • The fact there's people that think that the killer shouldn't always end up catching the survivors shows why there's so much whining about killer being OP still despite overwhelming proof of the opposite.

It should take time but even the worst chaser should be able to eventually get a down when in a match with similar skill level survivors.

  • I don't care about others' MMR, I just wanna see my own so I can compare with friends and have an idea where I place.

  • There has been reports of this happening, yes. It seems something might have borked with Rancor after the last patch.

It's not as bad as in any way but gives me "All your base" vibes :D

... Then again, New York City Police Department isn't NYCPD, and my knowledge of US geography isn't good enough to think of other places with "City" in their city name, maybe it's the same everywhere. Either way you would still say it "New York City Police Department" while the info about the RE PD just call it "Raccoon Police" which maintain the silliness.

flashlights do basically nothing beyond saves, if anything they need something to make them more useful.

also clicking just shouldn't be a thing. like at all

They also remove Artist's birds, both on people and while placed idle.

They can also be used to burn Wraith out of stealth.

They can also be used to remove Hag traps.

They can also stun Nemesis' zombies.

    They can also blind Victor.

In terms of ways to use them they're probably the most versatile, even more so than maps and keys.

There is no such thing as survivors tunneling gens. The phrase only exists to oppose survivors complaining about tunneling.

Is it tunneling if you accidentally find the same survivor before hooking anyone else? Not really. Is it tunneling if you wait out the BT to down the freshly unhooked survivor? Absolutely!

Are two survivors working on the same gen without Prove Thyself genrushing you? No. Is it genrushing if they have Prove Thyself and Commodius Toolboxes? Definitely.

"Is it tunneling if you wait out BT to down the freshly unhooked survivor? Absolutely!"

Only if you also pick them back up and keep hooking them. Downing a freshly unhooked survivor to trigger altruism from the team so you can get someone else down and people off gens is just tactical gameplay. The more time survivors spend off of gens the better it is for the killer.

That said, if no one else comes around to take aggro off them or to get them up it would be rude to leave them slugged too. Though I personally would likely do so and go pressure gens while someone get them back on their feet, again, because that means that survivor had to be off of gens during that time.

  • I fully agree that there should be an option to turn it off, I'm a grown adult I can survive some curse words, people can already wish death and illness on people without getting censored so why would the rest matter?

Though, I then also request that it highlights words that got censored for someone else when I say them because the amount of times I've been just having a mutually civil talk with the survivors in the end game and it filters out something 100% inoffensive, like character names or perks, is insane. And if I don't know what I said was filtered I can't try to rewrite it to get around the filter and the other players might think I was actually saying offensive stuff.

At very, VERY, least fix the filter so it only censor actual offensive stuff and not characters, perks or game mechanics.

    This.

Survivors can teabag you at every pallet at the exit gate but if a killer nods, OMG we need to be able to ban killers like that.

I fully agree with the nodding, it's basically the same as tea bagging. Neither is toxic unless used in a way that is intentionally toxic, which is much harder for the nods.

Tea bagging after outplaying the other player isn't toxic, it's just cheeky fun for the most part, the same goes for nodding as killer after you down that survivor that acted like they were untouchable. A single hit on the hook after you hook a survivor that looped you really well isn't toxic either, it's basically just a way to say "You did well and I don't like it!", as long as you move on after that it should be fine imo.

Survivors waiting at the exit gate for the entirety of the EGC just so the killer comes over to watch them tea bag until they have to leave or the killer hits them out is toxic and just a huge waste of everyone's time.

Killers face camping and constantly hitting on hook while nodding is toxic behavior for the reason that the survivor can't prevent or ignore it at that point.

  • Flashlights are fine the way they are, though making it slightly harder to blind from the sides wouldn't hurt, but I will forever insist that they should have a minimum charge depletion so we can stop having clickers running around. Especially macro clickers. If one use of a macro click depleted a max battery flashlight the game would instantly be better.

That said even those people are mostly just annoying gnats that usually go down in 15 seconds once you decide to give them that chase they so sorely wanted after running behind you clicking for the past 5 minutes instead of doing gens :D

It's always better to go for the dedicated gen jockeys in games with flashlight users after all.

  • @RequiemLestat said:

No white glyph challenge. Dude was on death hook. Survivors played like trash. I capitalised on every mistake, even went the other side of the map to give them a breather. No totems were done and I was running the perks to activate totems once hooked. A 3K and the last survivor injured AND on death hook. 3000 more bloodpoints than me. I took a BP sacrifice offering. There is no conceivable or logical or digitally mathematical way he could have gotten more BP.

You only see the base points + glyph points in the score screen at the end (for some reason), to see what you got with your offering and perk bonuses you have to check the first page of the endgame stats which only show your own points and current BP balance.

  • I've been skimming through this thread and as a killer main I've come to the conclusion that yes, survivors should have BT and DS baseline.

As long as there are still 5 gens to do. In the lore the Entity could be protecting them because it want the trial to last longer.

Most of what I hear is that the killer can just tunnel someone out real fast and that's the same as winning right there. And I agree, if you can somehow tunnel someone out before the first gen pops the survivors are in need of some assistance.

So let them have some extra chances at the start, but as soon as they start popping gens the game starts for real.

That said, it's rare beyond rare that not 1 or 2 or sometimes even 3 gens pop by the time the killer gets one hook these days even if he downs the first survivor he runs into real fast, due to BNP and massive toolboxes.

For this reason the survivors should also suffer from a 30-50% reduction to repair speed until the killer gets their first hook. Again because the Entity want the trial to go on for longer.

There we go, now the start of the trial is drawn out a bit and both sides get an baseline buff to help stave off early tunneling and gen rushing.

  • Shrine of Secrets is just to unlock Teachables though, or did you mean you spend shards to get BP from perks you already have?

ive always been confused on the name ever since they changed the way grades or whatever theyre called works

All you need to know is that Grades doesn't reflect skill, just play time. The Skill rating is hidden.

  • Like most others as Killer I consider a 3k or more a win. A 2k is a tie and anything less is a loss.

For survivor, the few times I decide to suffer that gameplay, an escape is a win even if it's just me. But I'd also say that getting over 20k BP is enough to be considered a win too,

Basically to me both sides can be winners, I've had 4ks as killer where all survivors got between 20 and 25k BP and I'd say that's enough to consider it a win all around.

  • Basically what OP what is the old Rank system rather than the new Grade system.

I think this is because it seems more than half the player base still haven't grasped that Grades =/= Rank.

Grades are a reward system for your game time, not a measure of your skill. It's precisely this reason that makes hiding the grades in the post game makes sense. A lot of players would just look at the other players, see lower grades and use that as an excuse to why they lost, despite them in actuality being at the same MMR as the others, no matter what they're grade is.

I have a feeling people will maintain this misconception for the rest of days sadly. Or at least until we can get some visual representation of our MMR somewhere. Doesn't have to be an exact number, could just be an approximation to give people an idea of where they're at.

  • Imo the house areas are still survivor sided, with good loops and nasty hiding places, while the corners and the road is killer sided with lots of open space and few pallets.

  • @Tryharder said:

still not really good to justify being stun for 5 seconds because game is poorly optimized to have fluent animations without constant freezes. Legion already have the most downsides in the game for no reason. Actually buffing him instead of adding a lame gimmick is what he need

You have 3 seconds of fatigue after a missed swing now, it was 4 before,

  • As part of the LGBT community all I have to say is: Why does it matter? Why do we need to know the sexuality of characters only in the game to be killed? Does him, or someone new, being gay change the game in any way what-so-ever? No.

I can agree that it seems lazy to just turn an existing character gay for the sake of representation, but people have been hounding BHVR about this non-issue for years so I don't blame them for just going "Alright just make David gay so we can move on from this."

As sad as it may sound, having a blatantly gay character in the game would just have people playing them get targeted for that reason alone by hateful people. Some are being targeted already for using the Pride charms.

If the characters were more than just a husk for the player, the same as any other survivor at the core, it might have mattered but in a game like this it just makes no sense to put any weight on the character's sexuality. Unless they wanna use it as a story beat for how they ended up in the fog. Which in the end doesn't affect the gameplay in any way.

  • If the survivors swarm the hook I just put someone on I'll slug and not even feel bad about it. If everyone is there I have no reason to leave anyways.

I'll also slug if there's only two people left and I know where the last guy is as I down the other.

I also slug a lot when I play Sadako as the only way I truly enjoy playing her is to get everyone fully condemned, so I run Ring Drawing and force pick ups for more spread. So far this has gotten me numerous 3k Stare Moris and three 4ks. Usually I only get one or two though, but it's still more fun than trying to loop with her. 0 hook 4k also feel extremely satisfying :D

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Hiding the grades was just a dumb idea. If the MMR system has no relevance to grades, why hide them? All it does is it takes away the ability to see the overall playtime of teammates and opponents. And that can be a big determining factor on if they were trying to smurf, or you were going against an opponent with high playtime or low playtime, or if you really should have lost to that team/killer considering a bunch of factors including the grades.

It's basically for this exact reason they being hidden, so people don't start blaming team mates for their losses only due to the team mate having a lower grade. Since grade means nothing (An Ash 4 might just be someone who had a break from the game for a couple of weeks but is actually a high skilled player) they have no reason to be shown other than, I dunno, bragging rights?

  • I watch a whole bunch of DbD streamers more or less daily. Even on the side while I play myself, just near muted during my matches and turned up while I queue.

The reason why is because I find them entertaining and they have good personalities. They don't take things so seriously and even if they get frustrated during a match it stays in the match and they're positive and polite in the end game chat.

I tend to stick to smaller streamers (<100 viewers) that I can truly interact with and not just be some unknown drop in the ocean to. Like Aaron_DukeGame, to mention one, I highly recommend checking him out, really good energy.

If I notice they complain about people for stuff or blame them when they're making mistakes themselves a lot or act toxic in any other way I'll leave and go to some other stream.

  • "Boons should be OP"

The whole point of balancing a game is to make sure things are not OP, but rather balanced in power/drawbacks.

The drawback of the Circle of Healing boon is that it require set-up and only affect a, depending on map, medium to huge area. The positives are that it frees up 3 perk slots across the team that otherwise would have to be filled with Self Care for the team to have the same power and it makes regular heals and medkit heals faster. So with a CoH team mate you can bring 3 extra perks at the cost of having to run to certain part of the map to heal up on your own or 50% faster than normal together.

  • They already heavily nerfed her anti-loop by making running into crows only resetting swarm rather than damaging.

As it is you can usually dispel the swarm before she can even set up new birds to get a chance to injure with them.It basically require that you have a second bird set up aimed towards the other so that when someone runs into it you can fire the other instantly for the damage.

  • If you mean the new killer's Perk from what I've seen, if you break the rekindled totem it vanishes completely and they lose the token as in it can't be rekindled again. So the only way for that perk to be fully utilized is if they can somehow get all 5 totems rekindled before you go snuff one out again.

I might be wrong though I haven't played her myself, only watched some streamers.

1 2 3
