Both NOED and the gate switch/gate blocking perks need heavy nerf.
Only people not saying that are the killers who use those perks because they can't get kills any other way. FACTS.

It doesn't matter how much skill a killer requires to play, they don't suddenly become balanced just because they're hard to play.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3301359#Comment_3301359
you've made like 8 threads complaining about mediocre killer addons/perks and claiming you know exactly how the game should be changed because you're 'super high MMR' though you've only played "for a few weeks". i don't think anything you say can be taken seriously, you may as well be wearing a clown outfit

good idea, i haven't figured out yet if he's doing the deepest troll op or if he's actually just that overconfident and ignorant

dude you literally made threads demanding a nerf for Knight's addons and Whispers, there is 0 chance you're good.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3302754#Comment_3302754
regular matches are the only actual real matches, making something "only allowed in customs" is erasing it from the game.
Yeah and I explained why those perks need to be nerfed in those threads, it's not because they take any skill to use, unlike the nurse.
If you don't think I'm good then PLEASE invite me to a custom game :').

If you say so about your "killer main" role but keys exist
Anyone who doubts me being a killer main can feel free to send me an invite to a custom match, I will run a train on you with my nurse which I am nearly at level 10 at.
Also the perk being up to 4 minutes is so broken lol, any moron killer can win a game with that nonsense.

No, no it does not.
It requires multiple unique hooks; Something Survivors demand Killers do. And it only activates once.
It's fine.
It requires hooking each survivor once which is extremely easy, there's no skill whatsoever behind that perk. NERF NERF NERF :).

I don't think her addons are fine that's why I said she needs a Addon rework. Addon wise she's not balanced and changing all blinks after the first to become special attacks
Add ons are fine and balanced, that's why I said that.

They won't disable (Killswitch) her because there's nothing game breaking wrong with her. Many do agree that things need done ie Addon reworks and changing some of her blinks to become special attacks after the first blink.
I think her addons are fine as well. Very balanced.

Invite me to a custom game, play as nurse, I will get a team, and we will beat you. How about that? Prove your point, you said nurse is easy to play, I am confident I can defeat you.

you have to be a special kind of person to look at one of the most non-argued and obvious dbd factoids ever (nurse op) and STILL plug your ears and tout contrarianism. the fact of the matter is that nurse is easy to play, and is way too strong. the first part should change to give her more depth, and the second part NEEDS to be changed. i am an exceedingly strong advocate that nurse is currently the worst designed killer in the game, could easily be more interesting, and should be disabled until reworked. i also fully believe that the only reasons bhvr hasn't done any of this yet is because 1. they're incompetent and lack the ability or ideas to do so and 2. they know nurseheads (you only get good results when you play nurse, you cannot handle other killers in any real amount, ergo you only play nurse and have extremely biased opinions regarding her because she's your ultimate crutch you're terrified of not having anymore) would cry and piss their pants if anything ever changed her.
bhvr, if you're incapable of reworking her or nerfing her, just disable her. make your game a little better for once
Nurse is fine, I've defeated dozens of nurses. It takes a lot of practice and skill to use nurse, to disable nurse or nerf her further would make all that a waste. People should look up videos on how to deal with nurse, she's not that good to be honest if you know how to evade her blinks.
-
It would be nice if they told us when they fixed an achievement.
-
As a person who mains killer, NOED and the perk that blocks the gate for a whole minute should be removed from the game, I'm not even asking for a nerf, just get rid of those participation trophy perks. You can honestly play the worst most trashiest killer in the game and these perks will give them free kills even if they haven't hooked anyone.
-
Survival Treasures is also bugged
-
nurse is fine
-
I main killer and whenever I get to the hatch portion of the game I count it as a win regardless if the survivor escapes through it or not, to the point I'll just carry survivors over to it, because it's an RNG mechanic, which takes no skill.
If you stop survivors from doing all gens then count it as a win even if a survivor escapes through hatch.
-
Solo q is a straight nightmare.
-
Please tell survivors to not all run to the hooked survivor at once, you guys have more than 2 brain cells, you know that only one guy is needed to unhook a survivor, you can SEE the aura of other survivors running towards the hooked survivor, WHY do you keep running the hooked survivor when you know you're not gonna get there first.
Just dumb things like this are probably why people disconnect. People just running around do nothing, or survivors getting off a gen when we were team repairing it to immediately unhook a survivor instead of finishing the gen. Guys guys guys, you DON'T have to immediately unhook people.
Healing unhooked survivors right by the hook you just got him/her off of, running in the same direction as me while we are being chased by a killer, Running towards a gen that is being repaired while being chased and seeing our auras, knowing a killer tunnels and still running in the same direction as the recently unhooked survivor, cmon guys. I don't encourage d/c'ing, but I don't encourage garbage game play behavior either.
Something about hooked survivors really turns on randoms I tell you what, solo Q is a damn nightmare. We should include this information in the required training of this game tbh.
-
Do not nerf nurse, she takes a lot of practice and skill to use.
Survivors just don't understand that you can't run away from a nurse like you do with other killers, sometimes you have to run towards her, and run into hall ways where she has to guess where to blink, etc. I didn't have to watch a video to figure this out, but by all means watch a video if you don't catch on quick.
Nurse is perfectly balanced, if we add more barriers to her blink, she will become completely useless, playing killer is already a pain in the butt for the other killers when we go against full squads and break thousands of pallets and shuffle through dead hard and what not, there's a reason why it takes a long time to get a game for survivors at night time! (I play both survivor and killer).
-
I don't agree with nerfing killer, I solo q a lot and it's pretty balanced.
Yes there are a ton of morons in this game, multiple people will run into you or run around and do nothing and it's not enjoyable, solo q's should have the option to just quit games if such morons are making the game unenjoyable.
Easy fix is to just make friends with decent players. On Xbox there is an option to find groups of good players, i found a level 75 guy doing this and it was fun playing on a team.
I'm actually finding it less enjoyable to play as killer these days since all I run into is high level teams (due to my mmr/sbmm), I rarely play killer anymore due to that, what can you do if all 4 players are running gen rush perks and there are a thousand pallets around the map like on that new map they made. It's a really bad experience. Forced me to learn nurse just to balance it out and some maps it's pretty bad being nurse on like the midwich elementary map where if I look down on second floor to hit someone behind a pallet, it takes me to first floor, but still much more balanced in taking on full squads and punishing them with nurse than running around the whole map with Myers and breaking all the pallets.

@Mandy said:
I'll try to clear up a few misconceptions here...MMR has nothing to do with spawn points, it just does not work that way.
Also, making survivors spawn all together - as a survivor that would be a nerf, it's a lot more beneficial for survivors to spawn individually around the map to start putting pressure on gens, which is why experienced survivors will often leave the area if someone uses a Shroud where everyone spawns together.
Not having auras for 10 minutes is pretty much all of the match time, that's very extreme!
If you're concerned about Lethal Persuer at all, then you do have perks that can counter it as a Survivor - Distortion for example, and you can normally get to an area with loopable spots prior to getting found by the killer.
I actually think it's quite a healthy perk myself, and I would much rather play against Killers who are running chase/information perks rather than than 4 slowdown perks, it makes the game much more fun to my mind.
Nah it happened way too many times in a row to be a coincidence. Once or twice then sure, but 3 times in a row with killer spawning right next to me and chasing me off rip? Lol nah, there's something dirty there, only explanation is MMR based spawn points, other games do it as well.
It's awful. MMR is not just about who you match and who gets put on your team these days.
-
@Dustin said:
Lethal Pursuer is fine dude - It's an aura reading perk that encourages more aura reading perks. If at any point you feel it's an issue it's probably more so an issue with the killer such as Nurse or even Blight.
If you find this perk to be problematic you probably just need to pay attention the first 30 seconds of the round more.
The issue is that I am consistently spawning right next to the killer while my teammates are across the map due to my MMR.
Either get rid of MMR, or nerf the perk. You guys fail to realize your experience, is not my experience.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
Lethal is hardly a big deal. You can easily make safely if you pay attention.
Yeah idk, if you're not noticing it it's because your MMR isn't high.
I just played my third game in a row with the killer automatically spawning next to me, while all 3 of my teammates are together on a gen on the other side of the map, and yep you guessed it, automatically chased. I just quit the game and I'm playing fall guys now, this game is awful.
-
@crogers271 said:
A killer should definitely view a game where the survivor gets the hatch as a win. To me a better questions is whether you prevent the survivors from finishing the gens or not.
To me it really depends a lot on what I bring to the game vs the opponents. If I hit a squad with purple items that throws up multiple CoH and is doing flashlight saves: if I get one, a win. If I hit a team that didn't bring any gear and I'm running high level addons, I better get them before the last gen is done.
That's true, full high level squads losing even one guy is a win for sure, and low level solo quers, I'd have to get them all (besides hatch escapes).
-
It's not working for me either
-
Yes it's not working for me either, and others on reddit have reported similar.
-
Well anyway, I just did it, and the achievement popped. Thanks for letting me know about the prompt. Kinda silly it's a bit glitched and doesn't pop up sometimes.
-
Also if you're MMR is high, it's hard to look down to see if the "prompt" is there because I have to focus on the survivor who can just loop me or get away.
-
What're you talking about, nearly all the gens got finished while I was getting to tier 3, it's perfectly balanced except when they hop into lockers, which they're ONLY doing because they know we're going for the achievement, that shouldn't nullify the achievement, if I wasn't going for the achievement I'd gladly just grab the guy out of the locker and hook him, and then bait him if need be.
-
It's pathetic that the developers of this game aren't transparent with regards to this achievement and how the add on works, also a survivor can abuse the achievement by just jumping into lockers, that needs to be insta kill as well, if I grab a dude out of a locker who is quite obviously going to lose the chase and he just jumps into a locker because he knows I'm going for the achievement and won't hook him, the fix is to let me instantly kill him as I grab him, what a garbage mechanic.
-
Has anyone actually tried to get this achievement and can confirm it is working again and can be popped?
-
So you want to make the game less fun for more than half the player base because....you get annoyed by people having fun at the end? Lol.
Bad take, let me t-bag and take a victory lap, no different than killers swinging at my corpse on the hook over and over at the end of a game.

Oh come on. You knew a new chapter was coming out, and with it a new killer with new perks and addons. The onus is on YOU to do the bare minimum and read up on the new killer.
Oh please, I've been playing this game for like 3 weeks, I'm not going to sit down for hours studying every perk and ability, what I do expect is for killers not to be able to "steal a win" with an add on no one knows about, and let me tell you right now, most people aren't going to study all that crap just to play this game. The game needs to be balanced with balanced add ons that boost abilities not give new abilities, and perks (3 unique, the rest universal), I can learn 3 new perks, that's nothing. Now I gotta learn all the add ons too? And you can only learn the add ons if you buy the character or face the character and get ######### by them initially, that's the point.

@SpaghettiYOLO said:
It only blocks the gate for the one being hunted. All the others can leave. So maybe... just leave? If you're being hunted, just run until you're not hunted. It isn't hard at all. If you're in the exit gate area and a hunt starts on you, that's entirely on you because there's plenty of time to leave before the hunt starts. If you can take a hit, take it and leave. If you're in the exit gate area, JUST LEAVE instead of thinking you're entitled to all the bagging most do. Even if you get downed, you can crawl out after a moment unless Knight is right there to pick you up and even then, the delay to get out isn't long enough to prevent a crawl out. I've had that happen and I was literally standing over them and mashing the pick up button.
Yeah the point is if we're all inside the gate area and the knight is at the door and he initiates a "chase" then you're dead. Most people on this forum misinterpret the problem frequently don't they lol
-
@Ryuhi said:
It sounds like the entire point of this topic is that the killer had a mechanic you didn't know about, and it killed you. Same as when people sit injured in the exit gates and get surprised by wesker or pinhead being able to block the exit, same as people used to do when they tried to leave with an active reverse bear trap. The logical response is to be surprised, find out what happened, then learn from it and not get caught again.
And here we are.
Edit: The irony is the insane amount of information and counterplay the knight's kit provides at all times. There are almost no surprises with this killer, except the fact he's allowed to actually give you a buff by accident.
Exactly, it's dumb that the only way you can learn about it is to get ######### by it first. Those kind of abilities need to GO GO GO. I don't support wesker or pinhead having such abilities at all if it blocks the gate when the survivors already won basically.

Its not the first killer to get a lesser verson of a perk as an addon. Nurse has an addon that could give her Nurse's calling for example. What you see with the knight is something baked into other killers powers without using an addon.
Twins, Victor blocks you from leaving.
Mastermind, slaming a survivor against the exit threshold prevents them from leaving.
Pig,active Trap prevents you from leaving.
So, I see your point. Why does the knight have an addon like this? It should be basekit.
It's not a strong ability imo (nurses calling), it doesn't steal wins from survivors, and all people have access to nurse to read her add ons unlike the knight who you have to buy to read his add ons, it's definitely not the same.

Or any Mangled + Haemorrhage addon for that matter.
This isn't exactly a new concept, they've taken inspiration from perks to give addon effects before. Hell, Leatherface has an addon that mimics Franklin's and an addon that mimics Knock Out.
Some killers even have Exit Gate blockers as a part of their basekit. Just wait until you run into one of those.
Learning about the possible effects of new perks and addons (sometimes the hard way) is all part of the game. We've all had that "oh god" moment with Blood Warden before. This is similar. If every perk or addon was super predictable the game would quite frankly be pretty boring.
Also, if not being able to taunt at the gate "kills the fun" for you, I'd reevaluate why you want to play the game. Or don't, maybe the next Slinger or Freddy will teach you the hard way to just leave.
None of those abilities "steal a win"
YOu know immediately if a gate is blocked with feddys add on, the pigs add on doesn't steal wins from survivors, and the lethul rush add on probably needs a nerf but it doesn't steal wins.
The Knights ability steals the win, survivors who already opened the gate and are taking a victory lap waiitng for killer will lose if the killer initiates a "ghost chase" inside the gate area and blocks it. that's my point.

I don't have an issue with those add ons because you will know immediately when the gate is blocked, unlike with the knight when you only find out when he spawns his ghost thing right next to the gate you're waiting by. The pig ability is fine, it doesn't give free wins to killers.
Summoning stone probably needs a nerf but it doesn't give killers free wins as mentioned.
Big difference here, the knight "steals" a win away with his ability, the gates open, the survivors are taking a victory lap which is a main staple in this game, and he just spawns his thing and no one can escape? Lol, and he's right there to take the win.

Did you... did you read what I wrote...?
There are killers who have addons which give the same effect as those two perks. For example, Cannibal and Twins both have an addon that causes survivors to drop their items when hit by the chainsaw and Victor respectively, which is the effect of Franklin's Demise. Killers also have addons that inflict Mangled and Haemorrhage with their power, the effect of Sloppy Butcher.
Nope those are also perks, the cannibal has a unique perk, we're talking about unique add ons, perks give killers side abilities, add ons are mainly used to BOOST the killers main ability or compliment it, not give it a brand new perk like ability.
-
@Mr_K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3285063#Comment_3285063
The addon system is a basic feature of the game. Every killer has unique addons that change how their power works. Should you know how all of them work? No. But when you get screwed over by one of them you remember the next time.
My point is, which you keep missing for some reason, is that MOST killers add ons just boost their abilities, they don't give them a new ability (i.e. a perk). My point is, that this negatively impacts the game if survivors are not aware of said add ons existing that result in automatic wins for killer. Feel free to read my points in the thread which support this. If you still think it's good for the game, then agree to disagree.
-
@jesterkind said:
...Tons of killers have perks for addons? The effects of Sloppy Butcher and Franklin's Demise are extremely common for addons, for example, and Freddy also has a Blood Warden addon which is the exact same "perk as addon" thing you're complaining about here.
Also, you don't have to pay to know about this, you just have to go against it once and read the addon description. Or, if you really don't want to risk losing to it even once, go read the addons on the wiki. Plenty of killers have addons way stronger and way more impactful than this, so as a survivor you really need to know what to look out for in general.
Finally I'd be remiss not to mention that this really wouldn't be a problem if you just left. Survivors waiting at the exit gates just to teabag is a bad thing, punishing it with addons and perks is good.
Buddy those are PERKS not add ons, you just proved my point lol. An add on is next to the offering section, it isn't part of the perks section. 😂
-
I know a lot of you like to play devils advocate on this forum, I play killer and survivor.
Just imagine how frustrating it is, to, due to SBMM, having half your team barely do anything and die before even 4 gens are done, and then sticking it out with the other guy until he dies with 2 gens left, and then baiting the gate while killer closes hatchet, opening it, and then taking the victory lap inside the gate area only for the killer to block it off by initiating a ghost chase due to an add on no one know about lol, did he deserve that win or did he just get handed a win due to an add on perk like ability no one knows about? Lol
Yeah, that must have happened a lot, how many knights who sucked got a free win just cuz they had an add on no one knows about. It's frustrating, my point is, there's a way to avoid that frustration, by making add ons strictly ability boosting based, not new ability based. There is a perk that closes gates for 30 seconds, but a survivor has to be hooked and we will know immediately if the gate i blocked, not like with the KNights ability where you only find out once he's ther with his ghost ball and it's over right there.
-
@Mr_K said:
If you don't know about a basic part of the game then you will get surprised by a lot more things than this.
Nah it's not a "basic" part of the game, it's an add on that only the Knight has.
It just takes two brain cells to understand my point. That's like a guy who's been playing basketball for 10 years, and then the league introduces a brand new rule where you can get a 4 point shot, that only people who pay to learn it will know it, and he loses the game because of that. Only way he's gonna know about that rule is if he paid for it or if he negatively gets impacted by it (i.e. loses due to it).
Nothin else, not game knowledge, it isn't knowing where the gates are, which gens to prioritize protecting, what trails to loop killers on, nah it's "basic" understanding, it's hidden knowledge that only people who bought that character will know about, or who, as mentioned, lose to his dogshit ability at least once to learn about it., which is a participation trophy, losing not due to skill or in game knowledge, but becasue having an add on, is a participation trophy add on.
-
@Seraphor said:
It's an Iri add on, that's what they do.
Many killers Iri add ons do things like reveal auras or inflict Oblivious or cause Undetectable, things that many perks also do.
Myers has a Mori for an add on.
Nah VERY FEW killers have perk like abilities for add ons, most killers have you know, actual add ons that boost their abilities.
Also if they're going to introduce crazy new add ons that no one knows about, they need to let us read about them somehow, we can see what perks each character we don't have says, but we cannot see the add ons, and no one is going to go to the internet to read all this #########, not gonna study all this crap just to play the game, that is a horseshit add on that shouldn't be on this game, anything that makes me have to go to the computer to memorize and learn something about a specific character is not a good thing to have in this game.
Basically, any perk or add on that gives bad players a participation trophy win, should not be in this game.
-
I wonder how many God awful Knights got a win just because survivors don't know they can block the gate at the end lol, how many participation trophies did the developer for this game give out to these garbage players who got out played like crazy and only won because they had an add on that NO ONE knows about unless they have that character or went through the BS of it all, LOL, ######### ridiculous.

Spawns have felt a bit off recently I thought. Like I'm spawning a lot as killer in the centre of the map, which makes it actually very difficult to know where to go first. If you're a killer running Lethal and this happens you will be on someone within 10 seconds easily. I mean even without that perk you can easily be on someone if you get lucky on your first gen checked. On the flip side I've had 1 gen pop because I've failed to find anyone when the spawn location is the middle of map.
Yes you're right, it seems like the kilers are spawning middle more often which is insane.
-
@Akumakaji said:
Yeah, thats probably Lethal Pursuer. Of course, with you suiciding on hook you will never know, as you won't be seeing the killers loadout.
But for real: I got more games then I can count were this happened to me, and you know what? In 90% of the time the killer didn't camp, because they obviously wanted a fun match and I just played a bit more carefully. Sometimes I later died, sometimes I escaped, but besides giving the killer a leg up in the early game, the games played pretty much the same.
So next time, why don't you try to swallow your pride and just continue the game? You could be missing out on the most fun game in ages, just give it a chance.
Nah they need to fix that, it's not a perk or anything, they're just RIGHT NEXT to me as the initial post mentioned. that's the issue, they aren't on the opposite side of the map like when I play killer. We are around the same gen.
Glad you're having fun though, I'm not supporting that nonsense though.
-
I just quit out of the last game and exited the game, not playing this until they fix this problem. My connection and internet are fine, I am just consistently first target and spawning right next to killer every single match.
My GUESS is skill based matchmaking, that is part of it, they put better players in more vulnerable positions to "even the game out," not supporting that god awful fuckery.
-
It's been happening MULTIPLE games in a row by the way, and ever other game at the least, I'm not enjoying this game anymore, when I first started playing this game a few weeks back I was NOT spawning right next to the killer in the first 10 seconds of the game. It just makes no sense whatsoever.
