  • Console, you can just message them. I've done as such a few times making some people happy.

PC, friend request alert and then message maybe? I never use steam so I have no idea if it even makes noise while in game.

  • Pretty sure there are shirtless versions of the characters in the files so maybe one day we'll get skins lol.

  • I think she's fantastic and is one of my favorite killers right behind Oni and Nemesis. I get why survivors don't like going against her as she can feel oppressive at times but I find it strange more killers don't care for her.

You can do long range shots to keep an eye on gens, almost every loop is unsafe if you play it properly. You can tag and shotgun for quick hits. Survivors can just leave loop but if they do you can usually get a hit in anyway.

A lot of people say she's not fun to watch and I can also get that. It's basically the same strategy no matter what map you're on so she can get boring pretty quick if you don't find her that engaging in the first place.

  • Dragons Grip with Insidious on a normal terror radius killer and then hide nearby a gen after kicking it. I've personally fell for it twice. Once against a Trapper and another on a Demo I believe.

It probably wont work all that often but I imagine it's hilarious to see.

Insidious in general at weird spots can get some funny hits.

Someone told me to kill myself after a game on PS4 in the one week I had messaging enabled. I reported it to Sony who said that there was nothing wrong with what they said.

So that was nice of them.

I find that very hard to believe. Sony is pretty quick on banning or at least deleting messages even with simple swears in them. I met a guy back in dark souls 3 who would invade people, message them after and try to get them to swear or say something stupid just so he could report them and get them banned for a bit of extra lol's.

I've also reported a guy as a joke for calling me a little piece ######### with a few other choice words and the message got moderated within a few minutes. No idea if he got banned but they do at least delete the messages. I've also talked with a few people who've gotten banned for 24hrs just for simple swears as well.

If what you're saying is true then you most have gotten the only bot or person in Sony that's lenient on that.

  • Always a pleasure to see more of your art!

  • All the time. I think it works similarly to when people type up emails about how much they hate their boss, job, etc and never send it.

It's about getting your feelings off your chest in a healthy way but you also realize you don't really want to start trouble or an argument so you delete it. You said what you had to say and now you can move on having a bit of internal closure.

Or you realize it's not worth the time/effort. That to. Probably mostly that.

  • No, you will not get banned for going AFK after you feel you've lost or they're being obnoxious. Go sit in a corner, watch some youtube until they leave and move on. Nothing to worry about.

They say that if you get reported for AFKing enough it'll be looked at but it'd have to be a metric ton. It's also more macro AFKing I imagine they'd take a dislike to and even then I've personally never seen anyone banned for even that. I imagine people have but it's certainly not the norm or talked about much.

An AFk report every now an then will likely get thrown out the same as a report for teabagging.

Oh, cool, so in order to get tolerable matches, I just have to purposefully throw 30 games.

    Great.

Once again. I didn't say it was good system, far from it. Just that it does indeed work how they describe it.

Except you will not have average 4k awith Spirit and 0k with Huntress because you said yourself "the average kill should be two for each killer". I'm not adding anything new, just using your own words.

    You're missing the point.

Let me try to explain this differently with a hypothetical. Lets say I played a whopping 20 games each of every killer. Lets go to the extreme and say I 4k'd every match with half the roster and the other half I didn't kill anyone with no in between. This in turn would average out to a 2k for my overall.

Would it be okay for me to then say MMR works great because my overall average is a 2k? Again, hypothetically.

I can load up my stream right now and play Hag, someone who I have leveled up to like, level 15 and I can show you the shitshow that will follow.

I can't play Hag. I have none of her achievements. I have put zero time into her.

I bet I'll get the same matches as I would when playing someone I can play.

Because it used your higher end killers to give you that since you don't ever play her. It's like you just started her which is what the screenshots mentioned will happen. I bet if you lost like 10-20 games you'd have matches against potatos while your other killers would stay the same. That's what happened to me when I purposely lost a ton as Huntress and now I get nothing but crappy people. I want to point out again, that I don't think it should work that way but it's exactly how the Mods have said it worked.

    @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2711148#Comment_2711148

I'm unironically pretty sure that's exactly how it works.

    Some games are simply unwinnable.

Back maybe, 3 weeks ago, me and my friends had a string of 3 really good matches. Good teammates, good Killer, all around really fun. The only problem? We 3 man escaped every match.

The next few matches consisted of teammates who were booting up the game for the first time (I can show screenshots of that) and Killers with thousands of hours more than US.

I'm unironically positive the system takes broad data over individual matches. If you win three matches in a row, it will try its damndest to make sure you lose three in a row.

I think the biggest issue is that we don't know our MMR and how far it pulls from but also, that's as survivor. I'm talking killer.

You and your pals could have had 1900 while the new people are at 1200 and the killer is only like 1550 even with more hours then you guys. It should not work that way and the fact it seems to is worth it's own topic. Still, it's exactly how the mods have described MMR so in that regard MMR does work as they say. It's just not a good system.

Once again, I'm not arguing MMR is good/bad. My main point is saying OP's data is meaningless to show why MMR is good/bad.

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2711061#Comment_2711061

If you have average kill rate with each killer 2, than you have average killer rate with all killers 2. That's how math works.

Accept if you're going by that then it'd be okay for me to always 4k with Spirit because I always 0k with Huntress thus a 2k average. That would mean MMR is working by that logic but that's not how this MMR works.

Which is completely fair and probably warrants its own topic tbh.

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2711023#Comment_2711023

You are still not explaining why it's less valid when you mix killers. It doesn't matter if my MMR is higher or lower with some killers. What matters is that we were told that the average kill rate should be 2.

Yes, the average kill should be two for each killer. As in separate, not total together. BHVR isn't trying to make MMR where you have an average of 2k with all your killers combined but instead that you have an average of 2k with each killer individually.

Because of that you need to take each killers W/L as a separate value. If you're going to then try to do averages of W/L then 1-2 games simply isn't enough data to hold any kind of value.

I'm not sure how else I can explain it.

  • @LoneSlinger said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2710929#Comment_2710929

Did you miss the part where he said that he got matched with the same exact people

Even if there was a average that either means one of 2 things

1: the brackets are large asf and mass people get grouped together

Or 2: by average they mean it's within 50-200 of your best killer which still sucks ass

I wouldn't take anything they say about this mmr too seriously or as a fact

They went on for years saying this was gonna be a grand system that was more complex then kills and escapes

Then boom 2 years later and what is it based on oh that's right kills and escapes truly revolutionary

No I didn't and I don't know what your point is. I'm not trying to argue whether MMR works great or doesn't. I said OP's data wasn't worth anything because there is separate MMR for each killer. Pulsar then said it amounts to nothing if separate MMR does exist which in my experience isn't true as far as playing multiple killers over time go. Experienced people playing new killers works differently and that should be tweaked.

So again, my main point is that while OP's data is fun to look at, it doesn't mean anything when trying to argue that MMR does or doesn't work as they only played a couple games with most killers. If they had done 50 games with a single killer and had similar results then that would be much better in trying to prove their point.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2710904#Comment_2710904

If there is, it matters very little.

I played a game as Nemesis, someone who I have put a considerable amount of time into and I got a good 4 man. They definitely pushed me to play my best.

I BOUGHT Freddy after that game. I had never played him before. I didn't even level him up. I queued for a match and was nearly instantly put into a lobby with the same 4 people.

I also did this with Pig on a separate day.

I'm pretty sure they've said or its been mentioned at least that when you play a new killer you get a sort of average of all your killers MMR instead of at the beginner level. I know the devs had said they don't want experienced players to go up against new players even if they're playing a killer they've never played before. I think they mentioned that it can take a bit for ones MMR on a killer to settle as it throws you back and forth to try and see what level your at. I might be misremembering though.

On my end, I can say separate MMR works. As Huntress I played around 30-40 games and I either farmed or lost on purpose in all of them as I was working on the skilled Huntress trophy and was not going to do that against good players. By the end, I was getting some of the worst players I've ever seen. After getting the trophy I switched back to Oni who I play the most and got ######### on. I remember it specifically because it was such a shift from just messing around and losing on purpose.

This was back in the beginning of November or so. I have also since played Huntress a couple days ago for a daily and they were still pretty dang bad while the match I just had as Legion today was rough as hell.

It's all anecdotal of course but in my experience separate MMR works well enough. It could be better when you start a new killer, I give you that. My first couple matches as Artist I got destroyed before it settled to normal groups.

    111.PNG 11.PNG

Edit: Here's a screenshot of what I was trying to say in my first paragraph. I'll see if I can find more where they've talked about it.

Edit 2: Another screenshot talking about the same thing. I wanted to find one where they talked about it bouncing you back and forth when you start but was unable. That one I might just be misremembering.

Separate MMR is basically meaningless, I've pretty much confirmed it.

Maybe but it doesn't change the initial point that having a mixed pool of killer data means just as little. Unless you're trying to say there isn't separate MMR in which case I heavily disagree.

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2710843#Comment_2710843

I still don't get it. I played over a hundred hours from the start of MMR. Are you saying that even that amount of time is not enough to normalize MMR if someone plays different killers? This data is from last 5 days. My match difficulty is consistently same for the last few weeks.

Every killer has their own separate MMR value. If I took two back to back games where I 2k'd and tried arguing MMR works would you agree? Of course not which is the point here since most of your games are only with each killer 1 or 2 times.

Every single killer has to be taken as a separate value for W/L. You can't mix them together in a single pool and then say MMR does or doesn't work since they're not meant to be taken together.

  • @tester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2710804#Comment_2710804

"The data would be much more valuable if you had played 50 games with the same killer and got a similar result. If that was the case then you'd have some basis in claiming MMR doesn't work properly." - Please explain. I never play same killer. Are you saying that SBMM is not supposed to work for people who always switch killers? I don't understand your reasoning.

Depending on how much you play, kind of. Every killer has a separate MMR value tied to them meaning that for some killers your MMR will be higher or lower then others. Your Spirit could have close to 1900 while your Trapper might be 1500, we don't know. As such, every killer needs to be treated separately for their W/L averages and your data which shows only 1-2 matches for the majority isn't very good for showing anything, other then you played multiple killers and won a lot.

It'd be like if I took a match or two where I 2k'd and tried saying MMR works great just because of that. 50 matches with the same killer is a lot more valuable as far as data is concerned.

  • While your data is interesting it doesn't work all that well for an MMR does/doesn't work topic since every killer has different MMR. The data would be much more valuable if you had played 50 games with the same killer and got a similar result. If that was the case then you'd have some basis in claiming MMR doesn't work properly.

Early DC's also shouldn't be counted in the stats since it skews the data a bit. A 1v3 is almost impossible to lose as killer unless you really mess up.

I do think MMR should be tweaked and looked at more, I just don't think this data proves anything.

Thank you for the idea, it’s definitely an interesting one. To me, at least.

As for the “poll”, I’m calling it that because I’m not sure what else to call it. I think I’m going to do open-ended questions, to allow any and all to express their opinion as much as they’d like. I’d also like to add a “gut-feeling” ‘clause’, meaning I want to ask everyone to say what their immediate thoughts are, as well as their more “rational” thoughts. Those tend to be more legitimate, in my experience.

Sure, I look forward to seeing the start of your series as well. I hope it goes well and you get some good ideas.

  • I can't say I'm actively interested in the topic but toxicity and the community is one I see on the forums a lot. Whether or not teabagging, flashlight clicking, hitting people on hook, letting them bleed out, etc are considered toxic and maybe even cyberbullying if we go by the current thread.

The devs/mods have already been clearcut in that they allow all of those as well as minor smack talk in chat but some people advocate that should change, whether that be by new rules, bans, or just something small to try and get people to be nicer. While on the other side some think the above attitudes are just part of the charm of DBD/gaming and there is no reason to change it, most online PvP games have it so it's no big deal and you just get used to it. Some think they should just stop caring and grow thicker skin.

Others yet, like myself don't normally care either way and we just play the game or are more concerned with other issues the game has.

I don't know how'd you go about with a poll since there are many varying opinions and examples that could be used. It is again though, something I see talked about a lot.

  • I always like to play against streamers so I can watch the match again from their perspective. It's pretty fun.

As for popular twitch/youtubers, I've played against Scott, Zubat, Ralph twice, Monto, and two others who were in a SWF together but I don't remember their names but they were semi-popular though.

All the matches had pretty varying results.

  • Shouldn't that be more on the individual to research a game to see if it's something they could or couldn't play due to a disability?

Unless you're saying the game has false advertising and comes off as something you should be able to play but can't. More details would be nice.

  • I'm in a such a weird place with that perk. As survivor I feel like it's way too strong, being able to directly see how much pressure is lost when a killer tries to split pressure is nuts. Sure, it's less gen progress going on but in a match with randoms that perk feels stupidly strong sometimes.

On the Killer side I don't mind it as much because when I lose I feel it's more because I played badly and not the boons. I've also gotten quite a few cheeky downs by finding people by totems or knowing where they're going to hide after getting injured.

I do think the perk will see some change to it eventually but I don't really know what they'll do. I think a simple decrease in size and maybe only have it work on the floor it's on would be good. That one RPD totem in the library is the biggest offender to show why multi-floor healing is downright stupid.

  • Honestly, that made me chuckle pretty good. If I came to that, I'd probably start head banging and spinning around trying to dance.

  • I think it's happening everywhere. I've had it happen to me a few times and its happened to a friend of mine as well. Seems like some massive server desync though it appears to be random.

The main instance I remember is on The Game; as killer I was walking up the stairs by an exit gate, turned a corner and it teleported me to the bottom walking into the wall by the stairs.

  • DSC00619.JPG

I'm all about cat threads! I've had dozens of cats over the years so I love seeing pictures of peoples little furballs.

  • That actually is pretty interesting how some people are just instantly recognizable by their avatar. It's not even really their post count either; some people have such a massive presence with how they speak and present themselves that you just know who it is.

  • It's a 10% difference but yeah, it's a really nice perk.

  • @Dipper said:

Also the main thing about my post was that you can appeal for a dc penalty, but get an automated message that you can't do that because it‘s not supported

Eh, I'm not going to argue with someone playing Devil's Advocate - that's just a waste of time. This is a videogame forum to discuss feedback in good faith, not a formal debate.

Which is very fair and understandable, I just felt the points should be presented as it is an argument I've seen before on this subject. If I'm being perfectly honest with my actual opinion on the matter above, I think the points hold some weight of truth to them but are very weak as a counter argument to keeping BM in the game.

As for my actual thoughts on BM, I don't get bothered and generally don't even care about this issue in the first place so I normally ignore these type of threads. I wouldn't be effected in the least if all BM from both sides was taken out, left in or made worse. I tend to play very chill and let everyone go or just meme around and even when I do play serious and get BM'd I'm not phased in the least. I just move on without a care in the world. Even if I do somehow get mad it's only ever for a couple minutes and then I lose interest in whatever it was that annoyed me.

I just happened to see this thread again, wasn't doing anything and thought I'd chime in once more from earlier as I noticed no one had yet brought up the age rating and genre which I've seen debated with before on this subject.

I hope you have a good one though and I meant no ill intentions.

I think For that it's wouldn't be so bad if people just knew when to quit or at the very least do it in a way that doesn't go to far to where it normally does I.E Death threats, racist #########, harassment and so on. People can taunt and such and Still give a level of respect but unfortunately it seems to be the former than the latter in most cases.

Which I very much agree with. I think some minor BM and smack talk is par the course but death threats, racism, etc is never okay and should be punished accordingly.

This may be the most corkscrew logic defending being a toxic little gremlin I've seen in ages.

Where do I even start here?

    • You'd expect adults to act with a bit more sportsmanship and empathy.
    • If I saw my son being a jerk to people in any videogame, he would likely be spending the rest of the week doing yardwork rather than playing.
    • By this logic Halo is a horror game. Horror is about tension and fear. Not disgust, not anger, not frustration. Plus, this is a game. A game is supposed to be fun for everyone involved.

I honestly hope this is thinly disguised bait, because if it isn't...you are the problem here.

Check the definition of Devils Advocate. I'm simply surprised it's a point that hasn't been brought up, whether I truly agree with it or not is something entirely different.

    Counter points

    1. IRL sure but this is a video game and doesn't hold nearly as much weight with how one acts in it, within reason of course. On that subject true harassment is something that should be taken very seriously and thankfully is. Also, shouldn't emotionally stable adults not be bothered in the first place or at least understand it's only a game and be able to move on? They should be able to understand that teabagging is incredibly unrealistic, the same as taunting others in public. As such BMing in the game should be taken about as personally as the entire getting murdered and torture aspect of it. As in, it shouldn't.
    2. Good. Not sure the point. If a kid is teabagging or being a jerk in a game then it's more on the parent then the game to decide if that's worth disciplining. Doesn't hold nearly the same weight for an adult.
    3. Horror comes in many shapes and sizes so it really depends on what one would classify as horror. While most direct horror plays on fear, no argument there, I think horror can still be classified by the helplessness and anxiety that people can feel, the more psychological aspect of it if you will. Not being able to save someone right in front of you, the feeling of helplessness as you are unable to do anything but watch and all the anxiety that comes with it. Such things are truly horrifying to some people.

Now I admit with that last point that arguing whether BM fits into that weird hole is a bit of a stretch but I think the feelings that comes from BM are quite similar at the very least.

It would be unacceptable in a game, because it's a game. Like, that would seemingly be the first part of it being a multiplayer experience: we're here to play with other people and have fun. How the game does that based on its genre is one thing, but at no point does that mean that a social experience should become filled with antisocial behaviour--that is, after all, inherently destructive to its premise and community.

In the end, it doesn't matter how limited the range of behaviours are, if they're sufficiently broad that certain things can be construed to have no other purpose but to taunt (and teabagging has been around since at least Quake, so we have more than twenty years now for that to get a clear meaning) then they should be treated as such. If you're going to have rules that verbal harassment etc. is unacceptable, then so are clear nonverbal cues.

Since there are, in fact, rules governing the chat, we know that this isn't acceptable. This extends to virtual actions, rather than running on a double standard that only certain methods of communication are able to be offensive--and, of course, we can go one further and say that by most logic, chat should be regulated less, because at least you can opt to close it and not take part--no such luck with the exit gate squads; they get what they want one way or the other.

Before I answer everything you said I want to point out that while chat harassment is banned, smack talk itself is not. Do you consider exit gate teabagging harassment or just a simple taunt that'd be more closely related to smack talk?

The devs consider it more along the lines of smack talk and as such it is allowed. If you're trying to argue it is more closely related to chat harassment and should be treated as such then we have nothing else to talk about as I simply don't agree with that. We'd be yelling at each other forever over the semantics of what constitutes smack talk and what is harassment and if smack talk is harassment.

I think the horror genre is a great argument for getting rid of BM. Until you can show me a scene where, when confronted with an invulnerable , knife wielding maniac, the cops started tbagging Micheal Myers in Halloween, BM breaks the fourth wall and ruins the horror atmosphere.

It just turns out, as opposed to a hail of bullets, what was really needed to stop Micheal was someone one-quarter Michael's size armed with a piece of wood.

BMing brings nothing to the game and detracts from it. It should go.

It might ruin the horror atmosphere for some but so does running around in inflatable snowman or kicking pumpkins. The game has been shown multiple times over the years that it doesn't take itself that seriously with the horror aspect, just that it is in fact a part of it. Having something like BM which can take you out of the horror element in a game where the horror element isn't taken that seriously in the first place is not a big enough deal where it should be removed for that reason alone. If the game took its horror elements more seriously or wanted to take itself more seriously, I would actually agree with you.

That is the most bizarre logic ever. It's a horror game, so people being insufferable jerks is acceptable?

I can't think of many points in horror classics that go "Hahah, you're a loser, let's rub it in your face" to try and build tension (or horror games for that matter--they tend to take the opportunity to go full gory death). Being frustrated, angry at someone, and/or upset might all be negative emotions, but they're not the ones that horror's really building towards.

Oh I can agree to a minor point. As I said, I'm playing devil's advocate.

As a counter point, why would BM be unacceptable in a game that's about torturing people without any hope of escape for all eternity? If you want to argue it's just video game logic and that's the point then I'd say the same of the BM as that's not something people would ever normally do. I don't think anyone IRL would ever bother teabagging someone since not only does it look really dumb/funny but it's quite difficult to do. If you want to counter argue taunting in general then that as well is extremely frowned upon to do IRL.

That said, it's a horror genre and people being insufferable jerks is part of that territory. While I can't think of many gaming examples that go that route, having unlikable characters or villains that are just straight up annoying or upsetting is fairly common in the movie scene. There are plenty of examples where the villain(s) like to joke around at the main characters expense. Thinking more directly, I'd be curious to know how many horror movies end with the main character being victorious and taunting the killer before they die.

Even in games, while it's not normally played for the annoyance factor it is common to have the villain(s) rub it in your face that they killed someone or did something to you and there's nothing you can do about it. They want to make you angry and upset which is exactly what BM is meant to do. It's meant to incite a reaction out of you. The difference is, people tend to take in-game BM personally instead of realizing it's just a game and is unrealistic as they would for any other situation, like say getting tortured.

On another note, having a horror game where the entire point was to demoralize you and try to make you mad/upset would be quite interesting.

  • Something I haven't seen brought up yet is the genre and age rating as a defense for BM and I think I'll play devils advocate here.

DBD is a horror game that is rated 17+ meaning that only adults or people close to adults should be playing it. While kids will still play it, I think that's more on the parents to ensure their kid(s) are mature enough for the content and to understand what comes with it and if they should speak to them about what is happening.

Secondly, the horror genre is supposed to invoke negative feelings. It wants to scare, repulse, shock, anger, etc their audience. To make them feel tense, to bring up a sense of anxiety and panic. Considering how much BM effects some people I would consider it to fit into the horror aspect of DBD. Just as some people can handle watching a body get mutilated and others would faint at the mere thought, I think BM fits into the same sort of category. Some people can handle it with no reaction while others can't and it's up to each person to understand their limits and take proper action. To either understand it's not inherently real or to separate ones self from it when they've been pushed too far.

While a different argument could and maybe should be made for kids games or other genre's, DBD is again, a 17+ horror game. I think standard BM is par the course.

  • Were you actually blocked in the corner? Judging from the screenshot alone that looks like one of those L walls you can just walk around. If that's the case I wouldn't say it's trapping someone in a corner and more a stalemate of him wanting you to leave and you not wanting to.

Again, only based on the screenshot, can't see very well what's happening and a video would be better.

Edit: Looking at it more I can see it being one of those posts just being far out. Everything else has been said really.

  • Honestly, I wouldn't mind the snowman mechanic becoming permanent with a couple tweaks. Instead of snowmen it could be bushes or something similar and it doesn't give you a free health state when attacked.

It'd give survivors more options for stealth and you could have a entire new line of perks around it.

Ah, see - there's a difference between a bit of banter between mates/people who know each other and doing the same sort of taunting with strangers. It's why I used the pickup game example.

    As always, context is king.

Honestly, kids get enough experience dealing with nastiness in the schoolyard as is. A hobby should be something where people can go and relax to get away from the chuds and bullies, not another area where you have to waste mental energy fortifying yourself.

Amusingly enough, my original field is psychology (well, criminology) and I currently work in education. I see a lot of kids really struggling with this stuff - it's not really matter of being 'tough', it's just a very human response to encountering someone being a jerk in a something that you retreat to after a hard day of dealing with jerks.

I must say that it gets under my skin after a while too. This game is frustrating enough sometimes without also being gloated at by a full SWF with 10x your hours played and a Haddonfield offering.

    That's very fair.

I had typed out a few different responses explaining my opinion on some things but I deleted them as I realized it's not quite what I wanted to say or at least how I wanted to say it.

At the end of the day I think it's simply a different mindset on the issue. I can understand that it is a problem but I don't understand why it's a problem. I think that's the best way I can word how I feel without going on a long-winded explanation.

I'm not sure what it is like now, but anyone that started gloating and trash talking after they won a pickup game (that they were somehow allowed to bring a full team of ringers to...but that's another discussion) would never have been invited to play again. That's if they didn't get a bit of a smack from someone.

This is actually something that worries me about the current generation growing up. I'm not sure it's healthy to teach kids that you can get enjoyment out of making other people miserable with zero consequences in their hobby of choice. I know that if I caught our son doing this, he'd be spending the rest of the weekend doing yardwork instead of playing videogames.

I'm 31 now but as a kid smack talk during and after a game was pretty common and all in good fun. After the game everyone would hang out and grab food or what not and just chill. No one would ever hold grudges and it's not like anyone was friends either. It was just neighborhood kids hanging out playing a game.

Maybe growing up with that has made me more numb or less empathetic but I have a hard time understanding why people hold on to the negative emotions from BM. I completely get being annoyed in the first place but when people hold onto it for hours or even longer instead of just letting it go or finding and outlet to make then feel better, that I don't understand.

It's a tough topic though. I don't think one should teach kids to be happy over someones misery by any means but at the same time, it's important for people to learn how to cope with negative emotions as well as negative people/experiences. Should one learn/experience that as a kid or an adult? Personally, I'm happy I experienced it as a kid as trying to learn how to cope with negativity as an adult while having very little experience with it is a rather scary thought to me.

Sorry, I'm getting a bit off topic now and it's delving more into human psychology which I'm hardly qualified to properly talk about.

Let me see if I can explain.

When you play a sports match against someone, you both shake hands at the end. For the winner, this is an indication of your respect for the other team - and similarly, refusing to shake hands or flipping the other side the bird is being a gloating butt.

Apply this logic to a hard-fought game of DbD and the same logic applies.

The difference is that if you did that in a sports match, you'd be benched.

In DbD, people will defend it like it's...well, something worth defending - usually by shifting the blame.

This game can be very frustrating for killers at times, and if teabagging was the only way survivors were toxic that would be one thing...

If you're going to compare DBD to sports, I think a more proper comparison of a normal DBD match would be backyard basketball (or any sport really) with all the neighborhood teens/kids.

It's nice if everyone gets along for sure but to expect no taunting after Jerry sunk a sick 3-pointer for the win is unrealistic. Not that I'm condoning that kind of behavior either but I think it works as a better comparison to DBD then a normal sports match.

Otz lost it when he decided to say Freddy was bottom 5, sorry.

I like Otz but yeah, no idea where he was coming from with that. On the other hand a lot of streamers and people in general usually have one unusual out of place pick so I can't hold it against him.

  • As a note, stalk is distributed evenly across all survivors at the start of a match so if you go into KYF with only 1 survivor they get 4 times the amount they'd normally have.

Not saying this isn't a bug but you'd have to do a KYF with 4 people or show proof from a public match as the screenshots above aren't indicative of a problem.

    Wait, did they announced something???

I was also confused but after looking around, I found that the Dev's mentioned in the October Q&A Legion and Ghostface were being looked at but nothing to be announced at the time.

I might of missed a different update but that's all I could find on it.

    Edit: I have been ninja'd.

  • As far as queue times I've recently been playing PS4 with crossplay off and I tend to get almost instant lobbies as killer. When I play a 2-man swf it takes maybe 3-5 minutes a lobby. A bit longer once it gets to around 3-4AM and then around 5 it just kind of stops.

No real opinion on Killer hard, survivor easy. I don't play the game at a serious enough level to care.

  • My buddy also was having trouble with this; he has also played a bunch of Legion games. He was thinking maybe it's 100 different survivors, that or Legion's frenzy doesn't work right.
