I am on MegaWaffle on this. Completely agree with 1 and 3. Yet Killers being the host do not always rage quit. Being a killer main. AKA the weaker of the two groups. I have only DC once and that was because I lost my internet. I stuck around the good matches and bad matches. This is coming from someone who is new to the game and well finds them self fighting players with better perks/items and a better ranking. Now I understand not everyone is going stick around with toxic survivors. Who do not stop tbagging and other unsportman like actions. So if a killer rage quits because the survivors are being toxic. Then that more on the survivors and not killer.

Not saying their are not killers who rage quit because they sucks. I understand that. Just saying from the games I have players. The survivors tend to quit because of bad players or they are just extremely toxic. Which I also seen this from other survivors as I was playing a survivor.

I don't believe he/she is saying or pointing to Killers rage quitting. His/her point was that as a killer having a survivor rage or DC still gives BP but if a Killer rages or gets disconnected for whatever reason survivors lose all the BP from the match. This is simply because the Killer is the "host" connection and if for any reason they DC from the match all data that round is cut off and lost. If dedicated servers were "hosting" the match then this data would be saved and transferred to everyone allowing match progression to carry over.

Its not trying to blame Killers for anything but wanting a solution to the current "host" system we have.

Must be a very non subtle hint at the next killer after Spirit. ;)

  • I agree with 1 and 3 but 2 is currently impossible on a "host" connection. Until we get dedicated servers it can't be fixed.

To add to 3 it kills you sometimes because of input lag. This sucks and would be better (again) if we had dedicated servers.

Did you find the buff to Predator enough?
I personally don't, i don't see myself running this on anyone yet except maybe Spirit cause of the obvious reason.

But then i thought: You can't see Scratchmarks until you're close enough, and even then they moreso fade in rather than just popping in.

So what about this: Why not make it so Scratchmarks can also be seen from further?
I can't say how much i'd want it increased though, cause i have no idea what the base distance is.

Wonder if this discussion can be kept friendly. ;)

Scratch marks can be seen from any distance, they are just harder to see due to fps/obstacles. You would be surprised how many times I've seen a few orange marks half way up a tree or on the shack outer wall from a distance. I think Predator should make each survivor have a unique color to their scratch marks so you know who you are stalking in conjunction with the current change.

  • Its a team game 1 v 4 and sadly you win or lose, more or less, as a team.

@Master because I’m the one who opened the hatch I’m the only who did any work so why wouldn’t I deserve it? The killer doesn’t deserve the kill because he camped It, camping is a noob tactic it basically shows you don’t have any skill or you don’t know what else to do so you just stand there 😂 bad players don’t deserve BP, hard working players do.

Why would you hunt something that you know will come to you? Go do gens and put pressure on the killer to find you. Once the gates are powered then guarding the hatch becomes a risk.

It sucks your match was ruined by bad teammates but you can't also punish the Killer because your team did poorly. You as a survivor have the power in a hatch standoff, play the waiting game, do gens for pressure or bait a hit further from the hatch so the speed burst you get gets you back to the hatch first. Hell if they catch up too fast you can self heal on the hatch with NO consequence to go try again. Its the killer who can do nothing but hope you mess up/give up, THEY have no options.

So, since I've got my Rank 1 achievement for killer I figured I'd go for survivor, and have hit an unexpected roadblock...

It's not that I'm being tunneled. It's not that I'm being face camped. It's LITERALLY because the killers are doing such a poor job at my rank of getting people I can't rank up.

People are MAYBE getting hit one to five times per match, maybe 1-2 hooks. And it becomes a mad dash to the hooks to get people off of them so MAYBE THIS TIME all this effort in a round might result in a pip.

That and the killers aren't finding me to get chase points for the Evader emblem. For all of BHVR's talk about wanting the game to be about stealth and hiding from the killer, if all you do is stealth all game you can't rank up. There is no reward for being stealthy outside of surviving. And while that is important, if all your getting per match is 10k BP or less on a match with zero pips because the killers weren't doing anything, then what the hell is the point?

The fact that I've made it to Rank 1 as killer makes this equally as frustrating because I watch end game menus of survivors in my matches who, after I'm done even if they're sacrificed, get upwards of 15k-18k a match and I know damn well that they've pipped.

Anyone else have thoughts on this? I didn't quite read up on the PTB about the changes to emblems but was there anything coming to address this issue?

2 1/2 gens, 1 hook save and 1 heal (or 3 heals with no save) and a escape will result in a pip without needing a chase. If you can get a chase or two by actually being chased or simply running past the killers view to "activate" a chase sequence you can substitute a heal or two.

I play solo survivor all the time and often never get found. The BP per match may suck because the game may favor being chased but getting a pip isn't tough.

I find it difficult to pip when teammates rage quit though as it limits your ability to do gens, get saves/heals and survive.

  • Maybe for the Winter Holiday event presents will spawn around the map at random times. When you open a present you get a item that reveals your location for X amount of seconds. The longer you hold this item without getting hooked the more tokens you get. Each present only lasts so long and gives these points to everyone, making it beneficial for your team to protect you.

For the killer maybe you are rewarded tokens for stealing these gifts. The gift is stolen when you hook the survivor or if you find the present box first and destroy it. Once destroyed another will spawn after a short delay.

This idea isn't really " balanced " out by any means but provides a possibility to add a fun mechanic to the event. Once you finish the event token goal maybe you still collect tokens and are rewarded extra BP for each. This would keep people who have completed the event interested in continued participation.

Using it never results in a save. It's always well it almost saved me or it was almost useful. Needs a buff or a rework because it's especially useless if the killer has iron grasp due to the perks just nearly cancelling out and wiggling off a killer is only possible when survivors body block and the killer doesn't have iron grasp or if the killer is really far from a hook. The small 2% you get to wiggle free might as well not be there because you will almost never save yourself using this perk you're better off with just about anything else.

I rest my case for worst perk.

Sadly this goes both ways with SWF groups who "bully" and D-strike players. By no means am I arguing with you as I agree camping ruins someones fun but sadly most matches will end up with at lest 1 person not having a great time. Best we can do is move on to the next match. If someone is being toxic or rude to you (regardless of survivor or killer) don't be toxic or rude back as that will only escalate things to a level that brings everyone down. Be the bigger person.

To add to this I also feel the general theme isn't as appealing to players. This sort of sci-fi prisoner fight thing just isn't as fun as DBD "horror" theme. The game is fun but not fun enough to draw new players to buy it at full price.

IF YOU ARE AGREE WITH ME, just skip the lobby when 4 o 3 people come together (swf)
we can make the devs change this, swf NO MORE IN RANKS...just in casual.

I only play survivor solo and often get into matches where everyone is dropped in at the same time. Most of the time only 2 people are SWF meaning 4 people joining up isn't an instant SWF group.

People need to simply stop complaining about SWF. Yes its unbalanced on higher ranks and yes the Devs are aware of this but no one has a solution that will balance the game for both sides. Lets just play the game, things won't change simply because we keep shouting about it. Be patient.

Adrenaline is situational and can basically be a dead perk if you die early, but it has always gotten me out of nasty situations. It also wakes you up when against a freddy and pairs well with my sprint burst since it ignores exhaustion. Plus while it may be situational the 5 second sprint burst is always nice no matter what im doing. And then theres Urban Evasion I do and dont like how it basically removes the need to walk and how im always gonna have another finger on a designated crouch button. I've gotten used to walking around something to not get seen rather than use this perk. But it does open even more ways to hide like as i said before but with smaller props, it also pairs well with my iron will and really helps out against nurses and it also makes fighting hag a piece of cake.

I'd highly recommend changing your build to:
    Deja Vu
    WGLF
    Prove thyself
    No Mither
Great perks no killer will expect to see!

This comment has been approved by the Killers association AKA Nea and the pussycats

Depending on the killer, No Mither is an invitation for the killer to tunnel you, because they believe it's an easy kill. I am primarily trying to get all my characters to Level 10 so I can get the "Adept ---" achievements, and I only have Min and David at Level 15 for 4 perk slots.

For David, I am currently using: No Mither, Resilience, Dead Hard, and Deja Vu. Really wish I had This Is Not Happening, but oh well. Being "stuck" at Level 15 for the next while as I get all of my characters leveled up, I don't have much access to a great number of perks. I might have to switch out Dead Hard, because the last several matches, I press the button when I am about to get hit, but it doesn't trigger the ability (no Exhaustion either). If I get too tired of David's perks, I have Min to use as well, though I don't remember what perks I have available for her.

I want to play killer, but it takes far too long for just one person to join up (and immediately leave).

First question: What platform are you and secondly what rank?
I assume you are rather new to the game and if you are still above rank 15 you might have slow lobbies. Once you get to 15 all the way down to rank 1 you will find things speed up rather quickly. If its Bloodpoints you need I would recommend playing Doctor as it is very easy to max out his deviousness and hunting category for points. If you have Leatherface he too is very good for Bloodpoint farming as his perk BBQ and Chili grants a ton of extra BP at the end of the match. This would help speed up the grind for you so you can farm more perks on your survivors should you require it, and provide some new unique game-play changes.

  • This would also help with the 1 survivor in every lobby who spends the whole lobby countdown deciding between using item A or B.

But yeah punish DCs please, I just had 3 survivors DCing in my last game as slugg huntress

Weird because the killer DC Last Night and I lost all my stuff

You lose offering but not items however I have had maybe 2 or 3 matches in my whole DBD time that I did lose my item. The odds seem so incredibly rare that I'd assume its simply a bug.

  • Rank should be removed. Instead new players will not be matched against anyone with X-amount of matches played or time played and will only be matched with other new players. After you hit that X threshold then everyone will be matched with everyone. Rank reset and SWF means that your rank means nothing unless you play solo. SWF will never go away because it would upset to much of the community since this game splits its player base, and most likely won't be affected in any negative light. I mean as a solo player I can now see when the obsession is being chased...for no good reason I get this information for free and now have 0 fear of being caught on my generator...for no reason...

SWF is a huge problem we need to just learn to live with if we want to play this game because nothing will be changed. By no means do I claim to know the solution and I can only imagine the Devs don't have a perfect solution either, so the best option we have is to simply live and let live.

  • Also having a P3 character day 1 does nothing to give you an advantage. As level 50 and P3 50 are not different.

Thats the only thing why hags still do well. Give it a few month and survivors might have learned a few things

The hags core mechanics have not changed since launch day, trust me some people just don't learn.

  • I don't understand people who DC if the killer is trying to do a farming run. Rather than DC why not just ignore the farming and rush gens and leave. You will safety or get a pip and get bloodpoints and not be participating in the farm, then if you wish you can report but you can't DC then report.

  • Freddy, and not because he is a good killer but I find it boring to not really be able to hide from him since you can't see him and the character is designed to tunnel you. His power makes it nearly impossible to lose him and forces you to simply buy as much time as possible before eventually getting downed. I enjoy trying to lose a killer with jukes rather than loops and also enjoy playing it as stealthy as possible, Freddy makes my play-style obsolete.
I don't see him often but every Freddy game is either 1: Get caught first and spend the game running around with him or 2: Never get caught because they are tunneling someone else who got found first.

This goes both ways for killer and survivor. I have seen so many killers camp the special gens when I play survivor. However I have seen plenty of survivors sabotage special hooks as killer. I know at the end of the day the survivors have the goal to live and the killer the goal to kill, but during events can we stop being assbags and let people meet their quota?

Although I agree many players do this to be toxic (both sides) some players don't care for event cosmetics and want to play the game. Since you know its much more likely survivors are going to be going for event generators it makes sense to stay around them. This doesn't always mean the killer is being toxic they are simply using information they know to increase their chances of winning. Its just like survivors who body block event hooks or sabotage them, they know its most likely the killer will want to go to these hooks offering more time to save a teammate.

Not everyone is being a dick and not everyone wants to farm or limit themselves during an event.

  • @walrusthemighty said:
In the last Q&A session from the devs, they kept on forcing the idea of "we want our players to have fun, that is why we do this and that". From here, my questions are: "How "fun" do they think is it to play against a good nurse?", "How "fun" is it to play against a good nurse with more than 2 blinks?", "How "fun" is it to play against a huntress with one shot hatchets?". Explain the "fun" part to me, please, I might be missing something. They keep on talking about how they do not want killers to be too strong, while having this piece of junk aka Nurse in the game. Explain to me your logic, or else, I will not buy these pointless words of "We want you to have fun". I would rather have a rework on Nurse rather than on Wraith or Freddy. Not even a single word has been dropped out of their mouth about the Nurse changes. Do they actually think that everything is fine and "we better work on Freddy next". How many posts did they read about "Nurse is broken" compared to "Please buff Freddy"? I do not want to assume anything in here, but the answer, for me, is pretty obvious.

I won't comment on your views of what you find fun/not fun in this game as everyone is different. But try to view the game from the killers view too. It isn't always fun to fight SWF groups or teams rushing gens with toolboxes. Remember not everyone has fun the same way and not everyone plays Nurse, the Ultra rare add-ons are not seen in every game. Yes you may see them a lot if you play a ton of games but people tend to focus on things they find negative. For example if you play 20 games and see 3 Nurse players you may find yourself more focused on how many Nurses you played/possible lost too and forget that only 3 of those games had her. I too do this on occasion especially with how many survivors I see DC from a lobby, but if I take a moment to realize I've only truly see a handful of DCing players in a few hours of gameplay its not as bad as I originally viewed it to be.

Again i am by no means arguing against what you find not fun in this game and I cannot claim to know what your experience with this game is, I'm simply adding in my own points.

  • @iceman2kx said:
@HellDescent That's just not true and I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. I have 0 survivor experience and was able to get down to level 15 in less than half a day. Then, I still have to grind out every teachable and unlock them in a bloodweb somewhere. So does every other new player.

The subject that I've brought up multiple times in this thread is killers running crazy add ons and offerings along with optimal FOTM perks from other killers to straight slaughter these teams of new players. Are they wrong? Absolutely not. They are utilizing mechanics and abusing a terrible ranking system implemented in this game. However, I'll stand by what I say 100%, if you're the killer run ultra rare/ebonys against these types of teams, you're lame. Also keep in mind, this isn't like a "once in a while" thing, this happens pretty frequent. So, yes, it does get old fast.

In my mind set, being at a low bracket, that's where I would try add ons that aren't necessarily useful but fun to run. Or play killers that I'm just bad with.

If they want to climb the ranks quickly it would make sense to use optimal add-ons/perks. You are not forced to or lame for using these items on low/mid ranks. Why do you think people use "rush" decks in card games? It was the fastest way to finish matches (be they win or lose) so you could speed up the rank climb.

  • @iceman2kx said:
    @HellDescent

Unless the survivors you are playing are in a SWF group or being carried by high ranked survivors, running top tier add ons is just redundant. Even below average killers can 4k all day at low ranks. I'm gonna link a picture and you tell me that you honestly feel this should be socially acceptable. Keep in mind, this isn't a one time thing, this happens often,

Maybe he/she felt like using the add-ons to have fun. You know killers using these add-ons don't always means sweaty try hard/must 4k. I've used add-ons like this not in high rank games simply to have some laid back fun. I've also used scratched mirror during a few rank 1 games simply for fun even though I know a 4k is unlikely. You can't hate on survivors for bringing in BNP or killers bringing good add-ons, some people just want to use the items they got.

  • @iceman2kx said:
Before anyone jumps on me for the title, I'm a killer main myself and this is pretty much a QQ post. I've just recently gotten into survivor with probably <5 hours played as survivor. Even though I know a little bit about the mechanics and game play, I still SUCK and get owned often. I'm terrible at looping and skill checks and I often get caught. Shouldn't that be the norm for rank 15 players though?

So my question is, why are there killers at 13/14/15 running these super sweaty builds to straight murder these new survivors? At this level, my teammates (myself included) are running lame perks or no perks due to character level. I'm running into killers often with fotm builds (ruin/bbq etc) running ebony moris and ultra rare addons. What gives dudes? As a killer main myself, I find this pretty gross and dishonorable behavior. I don't even start running addons until blue ranks, even then I'll seldom do it.

For so long, I've always wondered why survivors were so toxic at the end of rounds with salty trolls and tea bagging at the gate. Now, I don't even blame them.

tl;dr: I'm disappointed in the community I belong to.

If someone wants to get to rank 1 it wouldn't make sense to go easy in the lower ranks, after all the point is to climb out low/mid ranks for them. I personally don't care for rank and frankly hate how long it takes to get matches at rank 1 on console but I won't judge people for playing the game how they want. Unless you DC then and only then will I judge you.

  • The ping isn't always accurate either (I play console) as I've been in matches that showed a low ping with stable connection that turned to absolute rubber-band lag fests.

  • Bill would certainly take on a "leader" type role but I don't really think anyone is leading the survivors.

I don't play male survivors but I might try Adam just because he probably won't get much love.

He has some really nice alternate colours for his default cosmetic coming out. I'm sure he will get some love soon.

To the BEST of my knowledge, Survivors that are blinded, Survivors that are awake vs Freddy, and Survivors going against an E1 Myers will be unable to see the aura of the killer, but the killer can see them.

Now the point of contention is that I ALSO thought that a cloaked Wraith could not be seen by OoO, but my friend thought you still could.

Is this the case and if so, why the hell are you able to see the aura of Wraith while cloaked? It honestly makes no sense.

Wraith can be seen (its odd but I guess its because he is in the realm still). Freddy cannot be seen because he is in a different realm and Myers EW1 cannot be seen because he needs to get to EW2 and I guess it would be tough if you ruined his stealth mechanic.

He's pretty much the killer I'm worst at, even with Freddy included. But anyway, even besides that I feel that he's not too great in chases because of his weapon range. I'm not entirely sure if it's just a cosmetic thing but I can definitely feel like his weapon range is a bit shorter than conventional killers. Does anyone else feel this problem?

All lunge ranges are the same with the exception of EW1/EW3 Myers. The animations may cause a different feeling (like Freddy looks like he has EW3 range) but they are all the same.
