I put little to no effort getting survivor chops for the summer bbq event. In no time at all i got all 50 tokens for killer then stopped playing. I didn't even bother with survivor because i don't play survivor and lets be honest the reward is garbage.

Getting the gens is easy too. You don't even have to touch a gen to get the point so long as someone finishes it. I just hate how short games are due to super gen rush or how some killers are only camping event gens. I've finished so many games 100% uninterrupted while doing only normal gens. I've also run into team destroying event hooks. I only care for the BP as the cosmetics I find boring, but so too has this event become.

So have any of you gotten any of the event cosmetics yet? I know I haven't... Kinda hard at times because of DS and how far hooks spawn. While on the survivor side dealing with campers on the special gens but all and all if I keep at it I'm sure I'll get them.

I find it impossible since I still can't get on the damn game.

Yeah the servers are really messing up idky but I do hear its because they are being overwhelmed.

I assumed as much and with DBD's track record didn't expect anything less...Still frustrating.

They should also change his Mori and the Clowns Mori
The Cannibal should be the one who does the eating of the survivors and not the Clown

Leatherface has a Mori related to a scene from a movie, it literally could not fit his character more.
The Clown has a Mori that is engrained in his bio, again it fits him.

  • They are most likely not going to touch gen times again as they did in the past. I'd suggest adding the need to find gas cans to pour into the generators in order for them to be worked on. There are enough gas cans for all the generators so you can simply find what you need or fill all of them to open your options. After the gens are done you must find a fuse for the exit doors. You can simply find 1 and choose a door or get both for more options. It would add time to the match, more things for survivors to do and make generators not the only spot worth checking as a killer.

Times and skill checks all to be tweaked for balance (if such a thing exist).

  • I think you misunderstood what I wrote. If the perk were associated to a survivor and no one knew who (killer nor survivor) then its 100% RNG with who you kill and the effectiveness of the perk. Killers can't keep the hex alive and survivors can't play around it.

Hex are near useless as they are now and I'd love to see them changed. Your idea is interesting. I was just pointing out a flaw to be re-thought/worked out.

  • A few years ago my girlfriend and I travelled to Mexico where we did this amazing scuba excursion and got to swim alongside a bunch of sharks. Now these were not huge Great Whites or Whale sharks but a few smaller variety and a rather curious bigger fellow our guide said likes to visit all the tourist. His name was Bruce. I'm guessing as a joke to Finding Nemo, " tourists are friends, not food".

Sharks have skin vary akin to sandpaper and ( at least these ones) were like cats as when you stuck your hand out they would swim by and rub over it.

  • I use to work at a Tim Hortons (coffee shop in Canada eh) when I was 16. I had worked there for just over a year and I worked night shifts. After work I would walk home as I lived a short ways away. We always split our tips evenly at the end of the night and I would carry my portion home in a Tims bag. I had also recently gotten my braces off and use to put my retainer and case in this bag. One night heading home a homeless man grabbed me from behind and told me he had a needle in his pocket and to give him my bag. Not taking any chances I complied and he then ran off. It was later I realized he also had my retainer ( $1200 to replace). To this day I've been checking the teeth of every homeless man I meet in hopes of one day finding my assailant.

  • Interesting concept but it removes any sort of play to increase or decrease the perks effectiveness since it falls to RNG.

Lets talk about Leather Face and why are their two killers with the same ability . HillBilly is far superior with his chainsaw but they both require almost no skill to use.
So why are there two killers with the same ability to begin with why was Leather Face brought into the game?  Not complaining or anything just curious .
Do you think the instant down is fair or should be reworked into giving the hit survivor server bleeding and prevent them from being healed for 30 secounds. I mean I like this more honestly they're more then likely to lead you to other survivors this way.

Are we more likely to see more killers with the same ability this coming up season ?

Leather Face does have some great perks probably the only reason to even play him is for Franklin Demise

The original concept for Hillbilly was inspired by Leather Face and was created way before the game was an established title. Once the game garnered attention and popularity they were able to work out deals for licensed Killers. One of these killers was Leather Face.

That is the reason the ability is somewhat similar although both adhere to different playstyles. They hadn't planned on the possibility of adding licensed Killers in the beginning (or at least aside from hopeful dreams) and did their best to stay true to the character themselves and create a distinguished power.

In case you forgot, in a live stream some time ago they talked about the change about whispers.

The proposed change looks like this:
The range is reduced to 24m and further reduced by 8m for each survivors death, like a reversed Sole Survivor.

I think its a horrible change and a nerf to a few  Killers who aren't close to OP while very reliant on this perk for a couple reasons.

Its used by Trappers so they know if its save to place a Trap.

Pigs to know when its a good time to start crouching to maximize the chances of a successful ambush without having to move crouched across the map.

Huntress to know when survivors are hiding within her MASSIVE directional lullaby.

Its also used by some Clowns to surprise survivors with bottles before starting a chase.

I think the best way to nerf Whispers is to let it stay at 32m and simply deactivate it when only one survivor is left.

It isn't reduced as people die, its increased. Its to make it harder to find people as they die because you get a larger search area. Still its rendering the perk useless endgame if people are dead because the radius nearly becomes the map size.

  • Whispers should remain the same. Its not common to see, its only "useful" on large maps or last two/one alive situations. Its like an aura perk but instead of simply showing you exactly where the person is, the survivor is given a chance to be stealthy. Why buff aura perks but nerf a "look somewhere around this general area" perk. Makes 0 sense.

  • Lets be honest the "Pro pain" hammer is meh at best and the "Sunrise Top" was a "take your kid to work day" cosmetic release. For me personally I don't care for either objective cosmetic, unlike the amazing jacket and decent mask of Howling grounds.

  • Unless the ping goes into the 300's I don't care. A solid ping of 250 is more manageable than one that spikes up and down.

Make Ruin have a 100% failed reduction it wouldn't matter. Too many people "gen tap" or spawn next to the totem.

That's why Ruin should have a 30/40/50% repair penalty to all survivors instead of hex skill checks.

The problem with a 50% (I understand these are simply numbers pulled without tests) is it would punish people who do try to work through Ruin properly. I just go for the skill checks and ignore Ruin myself but with 50% reduction I'd go spend the 10-30 seconds to find the totem.

    That's not called balance.

Easy solution I use all the time when I play killer - I don't do the standoff, I hit em and let them have it. But then again , even when I catch the last one I let them have the hatch anyway.
You do standoff , it's your own fault , there's no need for a fix because you think you deserve to get a 4k.

By this logic they also don't deserve a free escape. We need a solution that favors whoever finds it first or at least offers alternatives to avoid a standoff.

Its not fair a survivor has to stand at a hatch waiting for the Killer to let them escape and its also not fair the Killer has to stand there waiting for the survivor when they shouldn't be punished/forced to let them go.

I recently got a 4k with the nurse which is a great achievement for me because I'm not good at her but I've decided to start practicing with her more. I decided not to use perks like noed or use things like moris because then I would get too used to that and I wouldn't actually learn the character. I'm also not using addons with her because I've heard that most of the addons mess with your muscle memory. But how the match went. Well it was lerys and they fixed 4 gens but the last 3 were very close together. I made tons of mistakes but I tried to predict where they would go more than just trying to blink towards them. Most of the predictions were correct so I got some sweet sweet hits and even grabbed a meg off a pallet. Sorry if I'm sounding really ridiculous I just cant belive I got a 4k with the killer i normally suck at. This was a rank 7 game too for those of you interested, so they weren't new players. So yeah that's my nurse story for ya. Sorry for acting too excited, I know I'm not the first person to get a 4k with nurse.

Be proud! It takes some serious time to get her blinks down AND to learn her mindgames. I play PS4 and have spent a considerable amount of time practicing Nurse. I know the feeling of struggling early on and to finally "git gud" and bring true fear to the game.

So great job to you! :p

Its an exploit related to Tinkerer Tier 2 and not Monitor and Abuse, unless you are talking about Myers who can use M&A to eliminate his terror radius while he has Evil Within 1.

As stated above its a known issue with Tinker 2 that the Devs said they fixed on their end but have somehow prolonged any public fix for nearly 2 weeks now.

I am all for punishing manual disconnecting. I just get a bit concerned for the accidental DC's as I've had a handful of games where due to the killer being from China with a bad connection I disconnect while in the middle of generator repairs. The fix to manual disconnects is simple, have a disconnect take their item. I have seen most manual disconnections come from over-extending flashlight users determined to keep, their one Utility Flashlight with an Odd Bulb.

Sadly you can't distinguish between bad internet connection DC and manual DC but it should be easy to solve this issue as other online games do it. If you DC you get a warning if you DC again in X amount of time you get a second warning and possibly lose something akin to ranking in that game or points and after the third DC in X amount of time you get a lockout from rejoining a match. Just tweak what this game needs and voila!

I have no sweet clue why they don't have something this simple in the game. Mind you I have no experience with game development so maybe the fact that "Killers" are host limits the data they can collect. Hopefully they get the dedicated server they spoke about up and running soon.

  • If you were made immortal and stabbed a multiple times in a day the pain wouldn't become less painful but it would become more predictable and bearable. Since you know what to expect when getting stabbed you slowly become accustomed to the feeling and by default develop less reaction to the pain.

When you were a kid and you scrapped your knee and had to put peroxide on the cut you would cry or at the very least loudly protest. Now you as you grew up its no more than a "sting" at best. This example is on a far less drastic scale but hopefully gets the point accost.

I had an idea for reworking nurse, making her power token based.
Every time you do a chain blink, doesn't matter if 1 or more blinks, you get a token. For each token you have, your fatigue after a blink would be longer by 0.5s This will stack up to 10 tokens making the fatigue take 5 extra seconds. Lower her base fatigue by 0.5s so after one blink it matches with the base fatigue she has.
If you haven't used your blink for 5s after not blinking you start losing your tokens 1 each second.
Than you could rework her +1 blink addons so if you do use the 3rd blink you get 2 tokens insted of one. Lower her +2 blink addon to be only +1 blink, but without the token drawback. And change pocket watch to lower the time you need to wait before starting losing tokens to 3s.

This change would add more skill lvl to players trying to manage tokens. Knowing when to let go off a chase, while not hurting people who can down you with 2 blinks. Also reward survivors for "juking" her blinks, because right now shes back on you in 2s. It will nerf her mobility as you cant just spam your blink to get around map so maybe increse her movement speed slightly (maybe 105%). And also get rid of that annoying slug everyone in the first 30s because we all spawned together.

Did you play Nurse when she had the bug that caused her to wipe her weapon every time she hit a survivor? It was the worst play experience in the world.
Even a good Nurse can be juked/mindgamed you just have to be smart and not play obvious.

Not exactly sure where to put this on this forum, but I figured general would be good enough.

Anyway, rank 1-3 matchmaking for killers needs to be sorted out. I've been in so many lobbies where it takes between 5 - 10 minutes to find survivors, even then, they'd quit out anyway despite good ping. Compare that to the ranks below 4, it takes less than a minute. Can something be done about this?

The problem is you "got gud" when you should have "stay bad kid".
I don't claim to be an expert but with everyone yelling these two things i assume they must be true.

Its a window... you know a big hole in the wall. Allow me to apologize in advance if you have no arms but I know I can clearly stick my arm through a window and hit people just fine. In fact that was one of my favorite pastimes growing up.

You can use another perk. Its not that you can't do without the points but that you **don't **want to feel like your losing out on points. I too had this feeling for a long time and until I got all my killers leveled up and with a few perk build variety I hated not getting the bonus points. Now that the grind for BP is mostly over for me I don't mind losing out on BBQ & Chili.

How come there are no children present in the Entity's world? No kid survivors or kid killers? Wouldn't kids be an easier target since they are easily prone to losing hope and do the bidding of the entity?

The developers took the inspiration for the Entity from a song (sorry I don't have the link) and in that song the Entity not only feeds on hope but is drawn by negative emotions. Aside from the whole (can't kill kids in video games) I think the Entity might be weaker against people (like kids) who for the most part are innocent.

The term "This is why we can't have nice things" is an apt description.

I wonder why they didn't ever change it to something like "the locker kicks you out" or something instead. That seems like it would be more fair to everyone.

The healing reduction from Sloppy Butcher doesn't stack. I'm pretty sure it even says so in the description. If you were to use the two perks whatever one had the higher base value would take priority.

that sucks ;( thanks for the info though

That is not true, Sloppy Butcher now applies "Mangled", this effect CANNOT stack ITSELF, meaning that u cant have 2 mangled effects, however, perks that reduce the healing speed but doesnt apply mangled in the process, will stack by a flat amount.

Sloppy + Coulro + Dying Light = 100% reduced healing speed, it means that the time to heal someone will be doubled.

I'll gladly accept I could be wrong but are you sure about this? I thought reduced healing was classified as mangled regardless of the perk specifically saying it or not.

Finally, it's so nice to see some love given to the trap based killers, a part of the game i always found was an amazing concept, but poorly integrated into the game. I'm so happy i can play hag now as a main because as i said, i think traps are a great idea for killer powers, however there are still a few problems with both killers:

    The Trapper:
Overall the trapper, despite being the original killer, was shown far less love than the hag, he got a quite nice time change to his trap placement time, and some serious addon buffs that are a great help, however it was not what he needed, and not done very well. His trap placing animation is messy and leads people to believe his entire buff was half-arsed. There are tonnes of bugs as i'm sure everyone has seen, from traps spawning floating, to survivors being able to walk over traps unaffected, to who knows what else. On top of this, the addon buffs weren't what The Trapper required, He required more buffs to his base power and not too many to his addons. Now we're left with a very strong killer if using addons, compared to an incredibly weak killer with no addons. Addons are supposed to slightly buff or change a killers power. This is proven by the tinkerer change and huntress speed addons nerfs: powers should only make a small difference. The problem we are left with now is that even if they did decide his base power is too weak and they buffed him, they would then have to in turn nerf all his addons as with them and a strong base power he would be very inbalanced. I'm dissapointed with the trapper changes as they feel incomplete and not thought through.

    The Hag:
I'm so happy with the hag buffs, finally i can use this killer as a main, and i would say she's finally balanced, but she isn't perfect. Many people have expressed problems with the hags addons, mainly her ultra rares and very rares as they actually nerf her ability without a big enough buff to it. This isn't a serious problem and she is still more than playable, however i just wish the devs wouldn't be so stubborn would and except the original idea for addons such as the waterlogged shoe just aren't good enough and need to be changed completely, to allow us players to get the full experience with this killer. There is a similar problem with stubbornness though out the game, with many perks such as calm spirit receiving useless buffs rather than just changing the perks name and use completely.

Overall i really like this patch and i believe the hag is now balanced, and many useless perks are now usable. However, The Trappers changes are not what were needed and are to buggy, some of the hags addons need to be re-thought through, and (though i haven't covered it in this discussion) many of the perk changes are either pointless or not big enough of a buff.

I think the only thing they could really do to buff his basic ability is to make the traps a bit darker by default and flush out any bugs he currently suffers. I'm ok with him not being some super powerful Killer and have always viewed him as a somewhat decent/flagship trainee Killer. I mean if he is your main "go to" guy then by all mean I'm sure you have far better balance ideas than I do haha.
