  • ALL blood points bonuses should be awarded post-game

What's the point of having 50% more bloodpoints in game if I'll probably reach the cap anyway? So I can reach it faster? Why? Doesn't make sense if you ask me

So, do you think that the players who became victims of harassment would still have raised an issue as targeted had they not been face camped? Even in the video put together that is being shown around you have examples where a player says “Face camp? Yup, It’s cuz I’m black”.

Those killer players utilized Bubba and an abusive playstyle to harass them. Maybe it is only really an issue with Bubba because of his exclusive design, where he can down multiple targets at the hook, but it is still a problem when you factor in what the person doing the bullying is using to harass.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2737894#Comment_2737894

I don't think face-camping is racist. All I am saying is look at all the elements which take place, because Face-camping in and of itself isn't even balanced right now. Newer survivors have no clue what to do when they don't even have the only perks that sort of deter these type of playstyles at their disposal. So, again I am not saying flat out remove it, because it isn't the mask issue, but it is objectively something that all these harassing players have in common in terms of what they are using to target the players.

So, do you think that the players who became victims of harassment would still have raised an issue as targeted had they not been face camped?

    Probably yes.

Racists could still choose to hard tunnel and kill only black survivors instead of facecamping them.

Facecamping is simply the easiest, most effective and annoying way of securing the kill.

They were offended by becoming a target through the actions of a racist player. That which included wearing that mask.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2737645#Comment_2737645

I mean, I am not trying to compare what happens in the game to the real-life victims who have and still deal with racism. However, even I know and I am not black that racism didn't just come in the form of words.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2737658#Comment_2737658

Yeah I am hopeful that they will change that playstyle to where these type of players will not easily abuse it.

They were offended by becoming a target through the actions of a racist player. That which included wearing that mask.

No. The issue was the mask.

A black-skinned face worn by a white man.

And I won't get into any more discussions about it, because this ######### precedent should have never been created in the first place.

  • People were offended by the mask, not by the face camping

Bill’s will have to be free if it comes out. Whether that’s through shards or just free access we don’t know

Same thing for Legion's outfit since it's a community item, it's going to probably be available only through shards

  • Not earlier than 6 months after the relative Rift has closed

That's the only thing we know for certain

  • @SRGII said:

Its simple, sony wont allow it as then BHVR would have to pay them money if the turned it on. go look at other games. Sony demands payment if they allow this as they claim theyr loose money if you buy from a different platform instead of the PSN store.

Yeah, it's most likely on Sony, they are VERY stingy with their stuff.

Like, FFS, Marvel's Avenger's couldn't release Spider Man (a FREE DLC) on the PC or XBOX versions of the game because Sony wouldn't allow it

    @JPLongstreet said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2718712#Comment_2718712

I wonder if Microsoft is asking for something similar as well...

No, most likely Microsoft would allow it (or at least they would allow it for sure between XBOX and Microsoft Store), but if BHVR were to implement cross progression only between XBOX and Steam it would be clear that Sony is the cause of the delays, throwing shade on them, which could lead to a tense relationship with them

  • So of course that just makes me want to be extra sweaty for the next guys but I don't want to be like that

######### will always be #########, it's not a valid reason to unload the frustration on the next team

The "risk" of being nice is that you'll find ungrateful people that think they need to crush the opponent everytime and be jerks about it

Shrug it off, say "gg" and keep trying to break the toxicity circle

As @Laluzi said, probably the only way survivor will recognize you spared them is after you've beaten them.

Like, dropping them in front of their 3rd hook instead of killing them sometimes work

No counterplay at all, it's always a lose-lose situation

Ok, it happened only once but ######### Unrelenting, it should be made so that it works only if you are at least 20 meters away from a survivor

  • I'll never be tired of saying it

If you are slugged for long enough that 3 crows have spawned on you and the killer is still not hooking you, you should be able to hold a button and bleed out at a much quicker rate

  • I only played killer so far and I like it

I love trying to memorize where the snowmen are and check if they moved while I wasn't looking

I love the fact that survivors don't need to escape to get their rewards because that's always been an issue in past events, and if I feel generous I can bring a survivor to a snowman and let them hop in to gift them the cosmetic before killing them

I only found once some survivors who wanted to abuse the "free health state" but it didn't really work

  • Good job, I knew you were going to fix it somehow sooner or later

    Congrats!

Yeah, tell that to the survivors I've been playing against today.

It's all well and good to tell one side 'just chill and have fun, don't worry if you get flattened every game' but if the other side isn't on the same page, then it's very difficult to enjoy yourself.

"People need to stop treating dbd like it's life or death" applies to both killer and survivors

It's difficult to enjoy yourself only if your sole purpose is to beat the other team, whatever that is

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Congratulations! Although I have to wonder about those survivors. Two people already dead with three gens left AND they let you have enough time to be short a perk while they cleansed all 5 totems and then went around and hexed all the remaining ones. What the heck were they doing that match? 😕

    You'd be surprised

Yesterday I was in a match where my fellow survivors thought it was a good idea to break every totem they saw (dull or lit) and never going back to check even after it showed that the killer had Pentimento

Long story short, I see that the killer has Pentimento, look around for a re-lit totem, start walking toward it and it gets blocked because the killer reached 5 stacks

We still had 5 gens to do and the killer had 3 hooks

I swear, sometimes I wonder if I'm playing with bots or not

As far as the disconnecting goes, yes it's risky, but it's a risk im willing to take. My friend has an account on the same Xbox and has never been disconnected.

As far as NAT settings go, I have no control over my router, so there's not much I can do.

With XBOX Live, you're right, and I'm dumb for not even thinking of that.

Even if I wanted to quit playing, I am hopelessly addicted at this point. I literally don't know what to do without this game. And yes, I know how sad and pathetic that is, but I'm just trying to be straight with you.

Well then see if customer service from xbox can help and see how it goes after that

A compromise you could find (after you reset your penalty) is:

    • Play normally until you get a 10 minutes penalty (it should be the second or third dc)
    • Stop playing for the day and don't play for the day after that (that will "soft reset" the penalty, putting you at a 5 minutes penalty again)
    • Repeat

I am hopelessly addicted at this point. I literally don't know what to do without this game.

We've all been there, hopefully you can find some distraction from the game while you wait for the dc penalty to cool down and slowly work on finding a healthier balance

  • @Pizzasauce said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2686143#Comment_2686143

As far as the technical issues go, my NAT settings are too strict. So even if I had "superior" internet, I would still have issues. That's just part of the problem. The other problem is coming from XBOX Live's end. I don't see how I can feasibly fix that.

Nor playing for one day and then playing 50 matches a day for 4 consecutive days was enough time for my penalty to go down to 3 minutes.

As long as you don't disconnect during those 4 days in which you are playing yes, it could be enough, but if you were to be disconnected during that period you wouldn't have reset your penalty, and since you (apparently) don't have control over when the dc is going to happen the only 100% failproof way of resetting it is not playing at all

my NAT settings are too strict.

You can change them, that's something you can start working on at least

The other problem is coming from XBOX Live's end. I don't see how I can feasibly fix that.

YOU can't, but you can probably ask support from customer service from XBOX Live? If there is really a problem on their end they may be able to help

DC penalties are doing their work, ramping up from 1 hour to 6 is done on purpose to let people understand that maybe, MAYBE they need to consider taking a break from the game, either because they are not having fun since they are dcing that much, or because they have to fix some technical issues

  • @Pizzasauce said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2686059#Comment_2686059

I stopped playing for a day and then was able to play again with no d/c. I can go four straight days no issues, fifth and sixth day issues, stop playing seventh, resets. That's my life now.

I average about 50 games a day so I'm able to lower it pretty quickly, but that also means it grows pretty quickly too unfortunately.

Not playing for one day is not nearly enough to go back to the 5 minutes penalty step. You need to go a much longer period of time without playing if you are at a 6 hours penalty.

Stop playing for a week, reset your penalty, try fixing or at least understanding the obvious technical issues you have.

There is no other way, apart of course creating countless times the same thread on the forums until at some point you become reportable for spamming :)

  • Stop playing.

Stop playing for a week, seriously.

Your penalty will reset and you won't face these long penalties after "one" dc

That is until you start dcing again, of course, but that's another issue that YOU need to solve on your end

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

    K. Game stays bad, then.

People who DC are automatically temporarily banned, and the penalty ramps up automatically.

There is no need to report, it all happens by itself, you should be happy about it

  • NO, do NOT report disconnects.

Reporting disconnects does nothing since BHVR put in place the DC penalty system. If anything, reporting someone who disconnected slows down the work of the (very few, probably) people who have to sift through the "useless" reports in order to find the "real" ones.

  • Aftercare can be a good perk

But you could have bought Jeff with 9k shards and get all his 3 perks

Yeah, buying perks from he Shrine technically saves you 3k shards, but meh, 3k shards for a character is not a lot (2k per teachable perk + 3k for the character)

  • people unhooking me because they want their BP for unhooking

That's not why I'm unhooking you

I'm unhooking you because I trust we can recover from the match if we are able to waste enough of the killer's time with chases and ######### like that

I've lost count of the amount of times we lost a match only because an idiot thought we had no way of winning and wanted to "go to the next match" immediately, so stay in the ######### match and waste as much time of the killer that you can, otherwise go play Sims instead of DBD if you don't want to play a team-effort game

  • If you can record your matches do so and analyze the footage later, you might find out that

    • At some point you catch a glimpse of the survivor but didn't notice
    • You spent too much time checking a specific spot giving them enough time to slither away
    • You didn't check a spot (like lockers or stuff like that) and they could have been hiding there the whole time
    • Too much time passed between the ending of lethal pursuer and you getting to the survivor's last known location, so they probably moved away
    • Cheating, yes, there is always that possibility, but it's hard to prove and probably the least frequent of the options

I don’t want to force a DS activation to make OoO work as it should. And yes, FTP is a terrible perk. Why trade a health state and become broken when new WGLF practically does the same thing for free - plus the opportunity at up to double BP?

Reworked OoO is an info perk

If you're not the obsession, it gives you info on the killer's build so you know which perk they have and can behave accordingly (if you know for a fact that the killer doesn't have BBQ, why waste time hiding in a locker when they hook someone?)

If you are the obsession, it gives you ADDITIONAL information on the killer's position, at the cost of notifying the killer of your position as well

In both cases, OoO works as it should. Just because you don't like the "I'm not the obsession" part of it doesn't mean it's not working

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2655245#Comment_2655245

The only way to ensure you’re the obsession is For The People.. a rather terrible perk.

I wouldn't define For the people as "rather terrible" but ok

DS makes you the obsession as well, and even after the nerf you can always either make the killer waste some time or force them to eat it

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2654101#Comment_2654101

I think it's stupid that you have to be the obsession for that effect. You can be running a dead perk all game if the killer has no aura revealing perks.

New OoO can be used as a "scouting" perk if you're not the obsession

Knowing that the killer doesn't have aura reading perk IS useful information

You can run it with perks that make you the obsession if you really want to have the full benefit of it

  • I think these changes wouldn't even take too much effort to implement actually..

The only one that is missing is

    Cheating and chat abuse

We expanded the team that is in charge of reviewing the reports and conduct investigations on cheaters.

I mean... Even without all perks, the investment is HUGE. I wouldn't prestige anyone on a whim. You have to be committed or not care about bloodpoints.

The difference between prestiging and not prestiging a killer is "only" the cost of the perks if done correctly, everything else is stuff you would have bought anyway in levels 50+

  • Unless you already got ALL the perks for him without prestiging, why not?

Use all the addons/offerings you have and then go for it

Down a survivors while they are holding an item 2 times while using Hoarder

Have a survivors miss a repair skillcheck 2 times while using the perk Oppression (this one would be the worse one, but Huntress Lullaby, Unnerving presence and Doctor would help)

I thought matches were hosted on BHVR's servers, not Steam's

Its not him beeing good at this game, but if the survivors would FINALLY start using their 3 left braincells then they would bully the hell out of him with these insanely strong items and addons, thats my point.

    TLDR: RUN AFTERCARE, YA NERD.

    Anyways,

I'd like to preface this by saying that this post is entirely based on the premise of playing in solo que. If you mostly play Survivor in a Survive with friends group (SWF) then this post will have little relevance to you (Feel free to continue reading if you'd like though). Furthermore, Aftercare is one of my favourite perks and I am a Jeff main. As such, I am VERY biased here. Nonetheless, I hope this will be a good showcase for why YOU should use Aftercare in solo que.

First, for anyone who might be unfamiliar with how the perk works, let me just pop this in here.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UHKBNAO06T81/2021-06-12-286-29.png

Now, I know what you might be thinking. Yes you could run Bond and you'd get aura reading on Survivors who are close to you, without any prior effort. However, there are two key aspects to Aftercare that can sometimes go unappreciated. Firstly, the aura reading effect is map-wide (unlike Bond which is only 36 meters). Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, the survivor affected by Aftercare ALSO sees your aura. This is an extremely powerful effect in solo que and I'll explain why.

Let's make a scenario here, let's say that you'd unhooked and/or healed Meg earlier in the trial. Now, Dwight has just been hooked after hiding in a locker for two minutes and he needs help! Without Aftercare in this scenario, you and the Meg may both go for the save. Only to realise once you both get there just how inefficient it was. Alternatively, neither of you go for the save and Dwight hits second state or even dies! However, if you had Aftercare, then you would've seen that Meg was going for the save. As such, you can commit to your generator, knowing that Dwight will be unhooked safe and sound.

You might say, 'couldn't I just run Kindred to get a similar effect with much less effort?' The answer is technically yes, but there is more nuance to this. Aftercare works indefinitely, until you get hooked (I'll talk about this later). Kindred ONLY works when someone is hooked. As such, it can allow for greater efficiency surrounding hook saves, but that's mostly all it does. Aftercare, on the other hand, allows for greater efficiency in almost any situation. Indeed, I'd argue that Aftercare and Kindred have a decent synergy. If you are uninterested in this part of discussion then skip the next paragraph.

The synergy of Aftercare and Kindred: At first, Kindred and Aftercare may seem a bit contradictory, indeed there is some overlap in their effects. However, I'd argue that they have an effective synergy for solo que. Kindred can make up for the lapse in information at the beginning when you haven't had a chance to engage in anything altruistic. Similarly, as I pointed out earlier, Aftercare is disabled upon you being hooked. With the Aftercare + Kindred combo, this is not as detrimental. Kindred works when you need it to, and Aftercare still does it's job. With this combo, you AND your teammates will be much more informed on what is going on in a match. Kindred can still be useful even if you have everyone on Aftercare as Kindred will still show the Killer's aura. Keep in mind by the way that you can totally run two meta perks alongside Aftercare and Kindred. For example, you could run Aftercare, Kindred, Decisive Strike and Dead Hard which would be a pretty solid build. You've got info galore thanks to Kindred + Aftercare, protection against tunnelling with DS and a bit of chase extension with DH. Overall, not a bad build for solo que.

Essentially, the combo improves efficiency across the board and Kindred aids to lessen Aftercare's weaknesses. There most definitely is some overlap in their effects but I still think that the combo is worth a try.

Something worth noting is that while Aftercare does require altruistic actions to trigger on a Survivor, it can also activate if an altruistic action is done on you. This means that Aftercare can often passively come into effect as you play, rather then it being a perk that requires tons of effort to work.

Now, it may be beneficial to compare the pro's and cons of Bond and Aftercare to give a solid comparison.

    Bond's Pros:

    1. Works without any prior effort, slap on the perk and it'll do it's job.
    2. Can sometimes be a somewhat acceptable alternative to Kindred, provided that you are not the one who has been hooked.
    3. Synergises very well with open handed.

    Cons:

    1. Has a limited range. Needs Open handed to get more substantial aura reading.
    2. Aura reading is only for the person using the perk. Doesn't provide any direct benefit for your teammates.
    3. Is hard countered by blindness add-ons and perks (That's kind of a non-factor for the most part but it is something to consider).

    Aftercare's Pros:

    1. When activated, provides value to you AND your teammate(s).
    2. Provides map-wide aura reading, which can be incredibly useful to the team.

    Cons:

    1. At the beginning of a match, provides no immediate benefit.
    2. Doesn't lend itself very well to more aggressive, chase oriented playstyles.
    3. Similarly to Bond, Aftercare is hard countered by blindness add-ons and perks.

In conclusion, is Aftercare the Super Omega Bestest perk? No. Compared to the meta, it can't really compete. At the end of the day though, restricting oneself to only the meta can cause the game to become stale and uninteresting. Spicing up builds and playstyles is what adds replayability! So, if you have Aftercare unlocked, I implore you to try it for a few games. Who knows, maybe it'll become one of your favourites like it did for me.

If you read down this far then I think you deserve the ancient secrets. Here: Jeff naked.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Might I point out that Aftercare is VERY useful when someone is in chase as well, both for you AND your teammates, because if someone is chased and they know you are working on a gen in the main building, they can avoid looping there to not hinder your progress

Probably apart from charms the only "exclusive" skins are going to be the recolors, so you're not going to miss a lot of content

If it was 2% or 3%, it would matter a lot more. But 1%, you can't feel the difference.

It's a brown addon, and again, 1% might not be very noticeable, but it's still a nice difference in DBD
