Honestly I'm pleasantly surprised this community voted killer thing is even happening. Never would've imagined it would have a few years ago. Very cool!
-
M1 killers defo feel a million times better if you run 1 or 2 chase perks in my experience. Bit unfortunate thats necessary but hey its probably enough to compete in most lobbies if that's the goal. Play with your food my beloved. I will never forsake you.

Ghostface seems nice and funny as long as he doesn't try to murder you.
Ah sure potentially being murdered is just the risk one takes in chilling with a killer. Definitely would be a fun conversation anyhow, lol.

Really enjoying DBD at the moment! Game definitely seems like its moving in the right direction, and my sister and I really enjoyed 2v8 this time around (not that we didn't before, she just didn't want to try killer then). Very much looking forward to seeing the mode oneday become a permanent mode. I've also been derusting a bit with Deathslinger. Hitting those shots from afar is very satisfying! Aim is improving bit by bit and its a lot of fun. All in all, devs are doing a pretty good job so far, I'd say.

Kinda tricky to say but I think I'll go with no if we're talking about just base-kit Plague. Now as was pointed out already, some of her add-ons ARE busted. If you factor some of those add-ons into the equation then I would argue that she actually is a bit too strong. Ideally, they might be addressed someday, although I'm not sure if Plague is popular enough to really warrant that in the Devs' eyes. Nonetheless the Plague herself is more or less fine. In truth, you kinda just have to get comfortable with being injured and not being able to heal. I know that it can feel very vulnerable, but its better than feeding her a bunch of corrupt fountains since doing so at the wrong time can be a game-losing mistake. Plus remember that without her red puke, she is basically just an M1 killer so she can be looped reasonably well with a bit of practice. So yeah, with her best add-ons, she's kind of overtuned. Without them though, I'd say she's fine.

Basically the title, I'm a dude, I like to play dude characters but to each their own. Just wondering if it is a male character and if so I'll purchase it because it looks awesome.
Why do you even care if the skin is female or male? If you like the skin, then get it. Its gender is wholly irrelevant.
-
The new meta hasn't even settled in yet. Too early to tell.
-
I'm not a huge RE fan, but from what I've seen of the older games, the old Nemmy design was honestly a lot cooler. I'd also love to see Harry Mason (Protagonist of the first Silent Hill game) come to the game somehow. Not really related to the post, I just really hope it happens someday, lol.

Thanks :) I'm so glad that we met on the forums a few months back. It's always a pleasure speaking with you @Anniehere
Other than her, my favourites are @Seiko300 and @Pet_The_Lizards
I don't interact with them very much at all, but I've had pleasant interactions with them both and they seem quite genuine. I'd also add GBK, but they've been pinged so much already that I reckon they'd just find it annoying rather than pleasant.

Gens seem to go noticeably slower. I played two Survivor games and one killer game thus far so my opinion is obviously subject to change. For Survivor, the base kit BT is nice (and if you use BT the perk as well then you basically just have a buffed version which is cool). Both Survivor games were losses (the second game was a lot closer though so maybe just fairer MMR). I also played a game of Demo and I felt genuinely unstoppable. It was actually really fun, but I'm unsure how the Survivors felt. I will say that Save the best for last is absolutely insane now. If they don't have a pallet nearby after getting hit, then they could go down almost instantly once you're at 8 tokens. Dead hard seems like a complete non-issue now which was actually quite enjoyable. However, new DS is an absolute joke. The stun duration is far too short now and because both it and off the record deactivate in the end-game, it kind of makes DS just obsolete. Why run DS when you could run off the record? The nerf to the stun duration should be reverted 100% and something else needs to be done so it's a bit more of an option, rather than being just straight worse than off the record. Otherwise, my opinions are mostly positive, but things definitely need to be ironed out.

i'm curious to know why everyone hates dead hard now. it's been around since the beginning. i heard killers just say "bait it out" it's no problem for me. and now i only hear how frustrated they are....what has changed? you can still bait it out why is everyone on the hate train?
Dead hard has always been insanely strong but there was also the risk of being exhausted on the ground. As a result, Sprint burst or lithe were usually more consistent so Dead hard wasn't as common. When dead hard validation happened, the perk's main drawback was gone and it instantly became far more consistent. After that, people began to realise just how crazy it is and it quickly rose in popularity soon after that. Also, the "just bait it out" argument only works when the Survivor is in a deadzone (i.e. they're gonna go down anyways). If they're in a loop, or near enough to a loop that dead harding would save them, then "baiting it out" isn't going to help.
-
Apologies if this is annoying but I'm just gonna comment here so the post shows up again. It's on the shrine again so it is relevant.

I think Hitokiri would be the best fit since she's supposed to be a bit creepy and I love their design. I could see Shaman working too though. I don't really think any of the others would fit the horror vibe.

The movies didn't do the games justice. They also didn't follow the lore of the town, the people, ect. I mean, they're okay on their own, but like in another universe. Dahlia was actually a good person and not a villain. Pyramid Head was just there for the likes. Same with the nurses. Could of been better IMO.
Yeah I watched a few reviews of them since opening the poll. They changed a lot for some weird reasons it seems. The name change for Cheryl still confuses me. I mean, they gender swapped Harry, so changing the name there makes sense I guess. Cheryl is still the same in the first movie though so her name being changed makes no sense to me. Oh well. Not a big deal.

Apologies for my late responses. Been in a lazy mood plus I recently got back into For Honor.

I knew there were films but was'nt aware that there are games! Any recommandations, if I might ask? ^^
Playing the first three is a good start as they're generally considered to be the best ones it seems. I really enjoyed the first one and I think it still holds up fairly well, especially considering that it was released 23 years ago. I will admit that the controls were rather clunky at times. So, if you have the patience for that, then I'd recommend playing them in order. If you can't stand the clunky controls, then you can just skip straight to 2.

Oh I'm aware of the HD collection's reputation. I played the enhanced edition of SH2 and will probably just play SH3 on a normal emulator.

- Doctor: he is very noisy. Constant screams and static sounds give me headaches.
- Trickster: boring, badly designed Killer who just kills you if you are in the open.
- Artist: shift-w is the only way to prolong chases if she decides to trap loops.
1: Nurse
2: Nurse
3: Nurse

They need to try and get back the Stranger Things license, it's a money maker with all the new survivors and a new killer they can introduce.
That's easier said than done. As far as I'm aware, it wasn't Behaviour's decision for Stranger things to leave DBD. So unless Netflix has a change of heart, it's essentially impossible for them to get the license again.

I suggest making Vigil a Boon-type perk.
Survivors within Boon's effective range recover 30% faster from Exhausted, Exposed, Blindness, Broken and other status effects.
Thoughts?
Honestly, that would be a bit of a nerf. Not a fan tbh.

Ok so you two are confusing me with the same profile picture, anyway it's a super good perk on nurse and artist too and I love it in general
I like it but when it comes to chase perks, I prefer the good ol' Enduring + Spirit fury combo.

I didn't enjoy the original Freddy very much. I vaguely remember him though. I think there was something simple a survivor could do to rob him of hits or grabs or something. (If someone knows what I'm talking about, please refresh my memory.)
Freddy v2 was much stronger, kind of competitive, but I didn't like to play him too much nor go against him. (Dream pallets were funny but pretty weak.)
I've not played Freddy v3 and I can count on one hand the number of times I've versed him.
I don't know anything about 'robbing' him of hits but if I remember correctly, back then it was fairly easy to escape the dream world as you could just fail a skill check to escape (which you can still do but it's not as good now). He'd then have to put you to sleep again which could rob him of a lot of time if done repeatedly by all survivors over the course of a match.

I personally dislike them, I rarey ever have any pleasant memories of bringing them into a trial as a killer. Usually the survivors are the ones who profit off them which makes me feel cheated after burning such an offering.
I've been prestiging characters lately in preparation of the upcoming rewards promised by BHVR and I had no remorse when it came to forfeiting multiple stacks of anniversary cakes from the last 3 years. They're better off in the depths of the void if you ask me.
That's a really weird mindset to have. The whole point of them is that they give points to everyone. If you only care about yourself, then just burn survivor puddings instead.
-
I think the repetitiveness of the game is actually the main issue. Outside of the events, the gameplay loop is very similar in almost every game. It's been nearly 6 years since the game's release and we still have just the one game mode. The Devs seem to be throwing around the idea of a new game mode internally if the most recent survey is any indication. Even so, we haven't heard anything since and the lack of variety makes things kind of dull after a while. I kinda wish they'd take some risks in the game mode department and just make something absolutely bonkers. As long as it's fun, I wouldn't mind.

That looks sick! As a Jeff main, I really hope that wins!

As cool as that would be, I'm fairly certain the Devs already stated that the prestige rewards won't be clothing.

Just like in the title^. This is rare, as I think that survivors have it waaay to easy in this game considering everything... but this little thing simply makes no sense to me... especially that we have 3 perks affecting self-unhooking chances, offerings and other things that could actually result in escape.
I do understand that it is in place to prevent a survivor simply hanging there and wasting time so here is my proposition: If X is the last survivor in game and they are hooked for the very first time they have a small window of time to try and unhook themselves. If they don't do this, the entity simply takes them (as it is now).
Window: 5 seconds. Finishing an unhook attempt adds 1 second, so in case you have slippery meat you have enough time for all 6 attempts.
Why? This would just extend games unnecessarily.
-
It would be a really bad idea to give either side too much control. It'd completely derail the game's already shaky balance.
-
If it fits the character then sure, why not.
-
I'm definitely not gonna be able to P3 everyone, so I'm mainly going to prioritize characters that I like (myers, maybe oni that kinda thing) as well as characters whose perks I want available to everyone the moment the change drops (spirit and Billy for example because I love the endfury combo).
-
She isn't Jeff.

@UnknownKiller said:
I noticed that original killers are better than licensed always except nemesis maybe
I reckon that's probably because they have a lot more freedom with what they can do when it's an original character.
-
The only notable detriment of being in the nightfall in my limited experience is that the Killer becomes a stealth killer temporarily so on maps with lots of LOS blockers they could get a free hit or two. The darkness is basically a non-factor though so on open maps it's not gonna do much.
-
Wait so the perk is useless if no one has boons? That sounds really bad tbh.
-
I kind of think option 1 and 4 both apply simultaneously. Tunnelling and camping is harmful for the game's health, but in the current DBD meta, it can often feel like a necessity.
-
Plague: Nope, she has a highly infectious, deadly disease which she likes to spread by puking on people. I'd probably end up dead.
Nurse: Killing over 50 people seems a bit unhinged so she might not be the best pick.
Huntress: Canonically she killed everyone but little girls. My chances of survival would be pretty low.
Bird lady: She seemed to be a relatively normal, good person before she was... well yeah. She'd probably be the safest bet.

Camp and tunnel more. Use the most overpowered perks and addons. Face camp every survior who uses dead hard, decisive strike, unbreakable or any perk that annoys you. Run whatever perks you want, use noed, scourge hooks, ruin, undying, currupt, lethal pursuer and whatever perks help whatever killer you use. Use Blight, nurse, spirit, artist, endgame trapper, impossible skill check doctor, legion with 4 slowdowns and long duration frenzy.
Play how YOU want to play, you paid for the game, you are the killer and not the babysitter. You're mission is to give survivors to the entity and forget that stupid fake rulebook survivors try to bash into your head. 12 hooking doesn't belong in this game when survivors want to be split on gens, hide with spine chill and iron will, wear the darkest cosmetics and exploits.
How many bully squads have you faced? They want to see you suffer to laugh and say ez. Bring lightborn against the flashlight squad. 99% everyone's stalk as ghostface and slug near your first hook.
Survivors wanna bring brand new parts, septic agents and sabo boxes? Bring the forbidden addons of your killer. Pinkie finger with extra bottles, bloody coil with iri stone or honing stone, 3 blink nurse, any addon above brown for blight, permanent teir 3 myers.
Survivors if you think about saying how toxic this post is and how I'm horrible for encouraging this behavior. I don't care. This post was meant for killers and if you are a killer who still doesn't agree that you can play however you want in this game I don't consider you a killer, I consider you a brainwashed subject of survivors. Forget survivor fun, focus on your fun. SLUG FOR THE 4K, slug at 5 gens and camp them with insidious behind a corner with nurses calling and sloppy butcher.
You paid for the game right? You own the game because it was a gift? You HAVE OBTAINED A COPY IN SOEM FORM. Play for your fun, punish survivors for thinking they can bully you. Don't wanna go to the map they wanna send you too? Exit during loading screen and find a new lobby. You get called horrible things during endgame? Tell them you don't care about their opinion, you're the killer your job is to kill.
The devs want more killers in the game but why haven't they looked at the most USED AND POWERFUL PERKS that are in the survivor meta? Guess they don't want more killers. This is a game play how you want to but I'm encouraging that you don't follow survivor rulebooks. They don't care about you or your fun so make your own fun.
brainwashed subject of survivors
Alright buddy, calm down. It's just a game. It really isn't that deep.

You can't blame them for that. It's not the media section. If you put a media in general discussion, it's as a reference for points that you make in writing.
True, but nobody actually checks the media section and the OP clearly wanted this to be seen so as to have a discussion. The mods have yet to move this so they think it's fine. The video was the focal point of the post and yet the person I had responded to ignored it and made a silly comment that would've been immediately disproved had they simply watched the video.

DH is the only problematic perk here for the most part. I'll go through them and address DH last.
BT can be very frustrating if they just force the BT hit when you're trying to avoid tunnelling, but that could easily be fixed in numerous ways while still maintaining the core of what BT does (i.e. grants temporary protection to players after they've been unhooked). So overall, it's fine.
DS is entirely for anti-tunnel now. If you're getting hit with DS all the time as Killer then I'm sorry but that's on you. Only interaction I can think of where the Killer may not have tunnelled and still be DS'd is if the Survivor refused to do any objectives and hit you with DS sometime before the timer ends. However, if that happens, that can very easily be viewed as beneficial for the Killer. Bear in mind that they didn't do anything that whole time to keep their DS AND now that they've used it, you actually could tunnel them mercilessly later if you want/need to. At the end of the day, DS is entirely fair and fine imo.
Iron Will is very annoying to deal with as Killer sometimes. Indeed, when used well or when paired with certain builds, you can actually lose the killer mid-chase which is definitely very powerful. To be honest though, I've never had much of a problem with the perk. It can be very annoying but it's not even really in the same ball park as the other meta perks.
To be honest I'm kind of surprised you didn't include COH. Even after it's nerfs, COH is still insanely strong to the point of probably still being overpowered. Oh well.
DH, well what can I say really that hasn't been said before? For much of the killer cast, it's uncounterable when used right, guarantees a huge amount of extra gen time and is supremely frustrating to deal with. I'm honestly baffled that a perk like this still exists in the game in 2022. It should've been gutted years ago, but I guess that'd drastically increase the kill rates because of all the people who crutched on it to do well. Not much we can do about it at the end of the day I guess.

Its fun that killers only started complaining about DeadHard as hitvalidation was introduced. It only looks like entitled killers complaining cause they dont get their undeserved hits anymore, but still want to have them. Ignoring arguments and seeking fake logic to justify rants are also quite common now.

This is just sickening PLEASE DEVS just add a 3 sec cooldown to flashlights this wont harm any good players skill this will just stop macro users you can still use it quickly for saves or loops still but this is to save peoples lives that are being harmed by horrible people
Saw that only a few minutes ago myself. I don't really think Behaviour cares though if I'm honest. I've seen a handful of posts on here discussing this very thing and the Devs seemingly don't care. It's extremely easy to implement this fix too so I'm a bit disappointed really.

Here is my guide to save as many bloodpoints as possible, while also completing the archives.
Red Line = Collect
Yellow Circle = Save
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/U1NXNRQTN8SJ/sketch-1652281838421.png
Since the game only allows you to hold 1 million bloodpoints at any given time, this is a way to store extra bloodpoints for a later date. This is useful if you want to save bloodpoints for a later event or chapter.
Hoping to prestige Myers soon so this helps. Thanks again!
-
I rejoice! If all four of them have flashlights, then there's a damn good chance that they're a bully squad. I'm kind of okaish at the game so I can usually deal with them. Although I admit that these squads can be incredibly painful to face in certain scenarios. I.e. if they all jump in lockers and constantly force you to grab, leading to a free save. Super annoying when that happens and not a whole lot of counter play if they're all doing it.
-
Yeah a bit disappointing tbh. Was hoping that they'd have put a sale on them. I kinda want to get James but there's no way in hell I'm spending €15 to get him. Stupidly overpriced, lol.
-
Why beast of prey on Myers? Losing the red stain is nice but chasing until you get bloodlust is not super ideal, especially since good Survivor's mightn't fall for it. Thanks for putting PWYF down for him though. Definitely one of his better perks and not often talked about it seems.
https://youtu.be/ZGp_3FpWbYkThis video showcases it nicely if anyone is curious.
-
Honestly, the only thing that needs fixing is certain flashlight angles. Getting blinded by someone who isn't even within your FOV is kinda silly and probably shouldn't be a thing.
