However, I did flag this last night - shhhhh we do not say I check in whilst I'm supposed to be off :)

I also just made a post about this, went to submit my entry and was met with the same screen. The post about this on Facebook says submissions close the 23 but it’s the 22 so we should have until tomorrow. I hope we get an extra day because I worked hard and just finished putting everything together in the ref sheet
I just saw, also I LOVED your charm entry so much it's so well made!! Here's to hoping it's fixed for all us artists' sake. Here's my entry I guess

Rip many hours of my time, first time I built up courage and put in the time to create some designs and I may not get to enter, that’s quite upsetting to say the least
right? i've been dedicating all my time to this despite being in work 4 times a week & spending time with family and just about finished in time only for it to be closed early. hoping they do something about it but i worry they'll just say "oh well"

Are console players getting the death garden exclusives?
Or is this no more exclusives stuff just more talk?
They won't unless DG comes to console, but DG isn't doing so great atm so that's unlikely.
They also have their own dev exclusive cosmetic and exclusive charms for fog whisperers and etc.

Legacy is just a b+ hallowed blight
b+ hallowed blight lmao you clearly don't understand anything about what exclusives actually represent.

#########? I mean, what? Sure, you spent time to unlock it, but if you're seriously getting upset, you need to rethink your life.
Do you wait for someone's birthday, or the holidays, and then go whine that little Timmy got his Switch for free because you had to buy yours?
define free, considering a lot of people spent over $100 on exclusives.

Where was all the outrage last year when they announced Hallowed Blight and Howling Grounds event cosmetics could be purchased? Only a few of us objected to that last year.
How no one could see something like this coming is obtuse.
I'm more disappointed that "events" won't be anything special moving forward to break up the monotony but it is whatever. I can move on and play something else if it bothers me that much.
I think there wasn't much outrage because they weren't from codes, but I definitely didn't like it. It just wasn't as bad of a decision as this.

@Rydog said:
To the OP: They can't take away whatever sentimental value you have for this stuff. There are lots of things I used to own and decided to get rid of, but I still remember and attach memories to them. The memory is not the object.
Also, these are fake items in a video game. They don't matter. You don't even own them, you have agreed to a license so that you may use them, along with every other thing in this game.
Well, I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't annoy the hell out of me if I joined a lobby and saw 3 rank 20s wearing golden feng etc, I think that's part of the issue.

If they could just push a button and make that happen they probably would have just given back the "exclusive" cosmetics to those that lost them. There is a lot involved with going into individual accounts and changing things.
by "giving back" i didn't mean giving them their exclusives back, i meant giving them something as a thank you for being an original exclusive holder, rather than just giving them to everyone and saying ok bye.

@TheLastGreatStar said:
I don’t see the issue. I have some of the exclusives but I’m not bothered about this. I’m not a fan of limited or exclusive offers. I don’t think it’s fair that newer fans aren’t able to obtain certain cosmetics just because they weren’t there to participate in events. And at the end of the day, it’s not that deep. It’s just clothing for a character in a game. Games are supposed to be fun and provide some escapism. Why has everything always gotta be so negative?
I think it's just being amplified because of recent changes that make the game feel like it's getting worse. This is just another kick to older players , it feels. If they give the original exclusive holders something back as a thank you, that would be nice. But they won't, and I think that's why it feels so bad.

Nope I have all event cosmetics but I also know its not that serious that others are getting them now
so you call people that have the cosmetics tryhards as an insult , whilst apparently having them? funny

It is a straw man. Saying DBD has gotten worse only because events aren't as interesting at the current moment while ignoring all of the changes that have made the game much better over the years (pallet vacuuming, balance, hooks respawning, etc) is dumb. The game is better than it used to be, he's just not happy with events. Doesn't mean DBD is going downhill, that's just a straw man as many positive things have been done with much more value.
"current moment", although they literally just announced that future events will be the same as the halloween event. not an actual event, they just change the music and some assets and then give out stuff via the rift.
That's not an event.
Balance wise, the game has gotten better. But the overall mechanics and what-not? It's just getting worse. That's not to say they won't do a 180 and add a bunch of new and great stuff, that's just how I feel atm. You're welcome to disagree.

thats...not what a straw man argument is. He said he doesn't like the events and feels DBD is getting worse. You can disagree with him, but that doesn't make it a straw man lol. Maybe google terms before you use them?
I literally don't know why they said it was a straw man argument.. at all lmao

There are few thing better than getting free things and making tryhards cry at the same time.
you literally just made this comment to bait and cause heated arguments. it costs $0 to be understanding to another side's POV, but sure.

@OmegaXII said:
Maybe give some shards to compensate those who earned the cosmetics before? (Like 20k shards, enough for a new whole outfit)
Then everyone is winning
see, now that would be nice. it's giving back to the original exclusive holders. but it doesn't seem like they care enough to do that tbh.

They got to use the exclusives way before everybody else. That's good enough.
It's my understanding these exclusives were given out for free. So really it's no big deal. I mean seriously.
Now if you're the type who actually paid $100 for a code, well again, that's on you.
ignoring the fact you had to pay to get into PAX.

If you genuinely think dbd is currently worse off than what it used to be back in the day, you're crazy.
Look at the events, bland, boring, don't feel like an event. How awesome.

hypocrisy

Giving away exclusives won't make people without exclusives happy, because guess what? They still don't have exclusives.
But this is a good thing frankly. If you went to the event only for the exclusive code and actually hated the event, that's on you.
The less things are exclusive, frankly, the better.
But this is more about the effect it has on individual exclusive holders. They could AT LEAST give something back to those people, free auric cells? shards? ANYTHING? but at the moment, doesn't seem like they are.
-
@kcwolf1975 said:
I heard that the real reason that these are going free is because of how many people recently lost theirs. Instead of trying to go back and restore those individual accounts they pushed the easy button and decided to give them free to everyone :( It sucks but it is probably the right business move.
Oh my gosh, I really hope that's not the case. My friend's went missing and their response was "your cosmetics will be returned in the future" sooo....

@Xaggy said:
So Legacy is only exclusive in the game? Luckily I have one.
I think Legacy, Bloodletting and all Artifact exclusives are the only ones left.
-
@Ermagawd said:
I agree with this. I understand their reasoning behind doing such a thing, but without giving any recognition to those who had it previously is unacceptable. People won/gave these codes from official tournaments and giveaways and now by making them free, what meaning do they even have? Not to mention the exclusivity promised by these skins by attending events and such. Buying codes is not BHVR’s fault, but attending these events and getting an “exclusive event skin” needs some credit. At least a charm, or a note, or a prestige effect on these skins would be somewhat compensations to this. You can’t just give them all out without doing something in return.
About the event skins, they should not be in the list at all; there’s no reason for them to be.
I'm glad you agree! I really don't understand why the Summer BBQ and New Year cosmetics are in there.. at all. For the most part, there is a reason behind it but those ones? hmm
-
@designator said:
Honestly yeah. It's a horrible decision. Really insulting to people who endured their awful events. The thing is most people don't have exclusives, or they're jealous of people who had exclusives so this makes them happy, while BHVR completely disregards people who are for the most part the devs largest and longest supporters. The funny things exclusives will still exist, like Diatech Nea, Bloodletting, selling legacy accounts, Ohmwrecker Wraith ect. If they truly gave everyone EVERYTHING I would not be as upset, but now the few exclusives I have mean nothing and the events I grinded through were worthless.
Right? very silly. They couldn't even say like "they'll be available for 20k shards" or some bs so the baby meg doesn't get an exclusive for her first ever game of DBD.
-
@glitterboys666 said:
well i agree with what you are saying bhvr said they want no exclusives anymore so nothing ppl can rlly do
maybe they should consider giving everyone their exclusive nea cosmetic as well, then.
