i prestiged all my killers to p3 the ones i play 99% of the time where already p3 with all perks im not really doing it for the reward i prestiged my killers to p3 because when the overhaul hits i instantly have every perk on every killer.

BBQ and WGLF will get "nerfed" because they dont give 100% extra bp anymore after overhaul so if you want to get P3 after the patch it will take 50% longer as of now. Atm with 5 cakes BBQ +bloodhunt this weekend if you play killer and can max out your points you get 250k bp/match while when the patch hits its only max 32k. (unless you are using cakes/party streamers or something else)

so if you have 4 matches with 5 cakes you reduce the grind atm by 75% because the bloodpoints. 4 hours = 1 hour

Its after you P3 your character the grind is 75% less but before P3 its gonna take double the time when patch hits.

I rather p3 now at 150k/250k bp per match then after the patch when its 25k per match. saves me a bunch of time

im not really doing it for the reward i prestiged my killers to p3 because when the overhaul hits i instantly have every perk on every killer.

    Stop right there.

When the new system rolls out, they said it will "catch up" with people who went over level 50, awarding them an adequate level of prestige, so there is no difference between prestiging or simply going over level 50 right now.

The only thing you're doing by prestiging is throwing away all the bloodpoints you spent on offerings and addons.

The only difference there is between prestiging someone to P3 and getting all the perks on someone is an icon in the endgame screen AND a mountain of flans burned in the process.

  • I was going to

Unless they backtrack hard on this "reward" I'll just level everyone up a couple of times so that I get the event items/offerings on them and I'll probably stop playing until the prestige system comes into play

What am I playing for? It doesn't make sense to spend bloodpoints to unlock perks that are going to be unlocked automatically after the new prestige system comes into play 🤷🏻‍♂️

it's not a cosmetic - which is generally referred to as the skins in the game

Ok, but I still don't think that an icon shown in the endgame screen can be considered a sufficient way to reward the effort that players went through in order to prestige a character.

It was the only option we had to obtain a set of cosmetics, and we had to spend/waste tons of bloodpoints and throw out the window event limited items and offerings.

An icon is not going to commemorate our efforts in the right way, we should at least get some form of adequate compensation.

  • @Mandy said:

We announced a long time ago that no form of Legacy would be returning...we also made this very clear here on this forum, when the discussion around the P3 reward started, that the reward would not be a cosmetic one.

And an icon is a cosmetic reward, is it not?

Sorry for listening to the devs when they said several times that you wouldn't ever get anything more for prestiging..?

Prestiging and starting over was the only way to get the bloody cosmetics.

    Not anymore.

  • @Jarky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3020072#Comment_3020072

Unless I've missed something, they did not say you would receive 'compensation' - they said you'd receive a distinct reward, which this icon is, even if it's something you're not a fan of.

Additionally, we don't know what the catch up mechanic is even going to get people to - if at max it takes the user to Prestige 3, they will not get the bloody cosmetics, since those cosmetics are now being moved to Prestige 4,5 and 6.

No, sorry, I'm not alone in saying that an icon in the endgame screen could not even barely be considered "celebrating and reward" my efforts.

A "special icon" is a slap in the face.

Additionally, we don't know what the catch up mechanic is even going to get people to - if at max it takes the user to Prestige 3, they will not get the bloody cosmetics, since those cosmetics are now being moved to Prestige 4,5 and 6.

Prestige will no longer be optional, it should be easy to calculate how many prestiges you should gain based on how many perks you have unlocked since every bloodweb has a fixated number of perks that show up.

They said they will adapt your prestige level based on the perks you have unlocked, I'm expecting them to put us at the right prestige level, and I'm not talking only about people who kept their characther at level 50 taking all the perks, but even people who brought their character to P3 and THEN took all the perks.

  • @Omans said:

If they did that then people like myself who kept all their characters at level 50 without prestiging would be rather upset. If they were to include players who will have a very high prestige level on every killer after the change, then okay.

Prestiging burns a lot more bloodpoints than keeping your characters at level 50, plus, you lose your event items and offerings in the process.

They said that once the new system was in place they would compensate the efforts of people who went through that process.

An icon is NOT compensation for that.

You, who didn't prestige, already get your compensation by receiving automatically the outfits reserved for people who prestiged AND having saved a lot of resources in the process. You are already getting compensated, don't use this as an argument on this topic.

  • @Springey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3019289#Comment_3019289

On the other hand, the article said we'd get a distinct reward... and currency isn't really a distinct reward.

And I don't know about you, but an icon in endgame is not gonna classify imo as "distinct reward"

Not when you compare it to the things you go through when prestiging with the current system

  • An icon in the endgame screen that we don't even know how it looks and 3 charms that you can obtain anyway after they release the new prestige system.

    No.

Give me the compensation that was promised.

    Bloodpoints

    Iridescent Shards

    Auric Cells (yeah, as if)

    THAT'S compensation.

They said it was not going to be anything cosmetic, but isn't a stupid icon something cosmetic? FFS

What synergy with Bubba ? Does it work on down survivors ?

    Always has been

But now it works even when you down them with your chainsaw

  • I said it before and I'll say it again

An icon in the endgame screen is NOT ENOUGH to justify the efforts of players who have P3 on a character.

Really, we went from an EXCLUSIVE LEGACY SKIN to an icon that we may even not like and can't customize.

    What the #########?

Give us bloodpoints or shards at this point, it would be a lot better and actually maybe feel worth the effort

  • I was going to sacrifice my 4th items on a P2 claudette

A few hundred thousand bloodpoints as compensation would have been enough

But an icon? AN ICON?? ######### that, who the ######### cares about an icon, how is that compensation for the offerings/items/addons I sacrificed every time I prestiged someone?

They have been available for a very long time

They are usually discounted during the Halloween event, but have always been available to purchase since 2018 I believe

Apple can say what they want, the iPad is a mobile device, not a desktop one yet

thanks, do you have a few you would like to show? I would be happy to.

    Sure thing!

Spirit: Kendo trophy, Last gasp, Bokjumeoni

    image.png

Plague: Gilded Sea Goat, Tablet of the Priestess, Hush Dagger

    image.png

Dredge: Murdered turkey, Lunar lantern (maybe I'll use the Horse Head instead of this), Maurice the Great Mistic

    image.png

The others are pretty much like the ones you have, apart from a couple of differences:

Trapper: I'm not a fan of the Sadistic Puppet, I don't know why, so I'm using "Danger ahead"

    image.png

Wraith: I love the Death Wreck one, so I used that one

    image.png

Hillbilly: Rosie the Prized Hog instead of the coldwind harvester

    image.png

Huntress: Horse head that she took from a cavalry unit that wandered in her forest during the war

    image.png

Doctor: Adrenal glands instead of the shock shard

    image.png

The other are either generic because I don't have the killer-related charms or are the same as yours, usually if i don't have anything that fits I use Lunar Lantern (always loved it, it's nice and big), Stuffed Crow and either The Campfire or Dwightcrow, depending on my mood when I set up the charms

  • Welp I gotta say, apart from the Billy charms the only other "issue" I had with your charm choice was the fact that you had used the "Lady of Malice" and the "Sadistic Trapper" ones which I didn't like but since you changed them I have to say:

10/10, perfect choices for the charms we have available rn

Glad to hear and thanks for your review. One more thing: There is no Wraith charm on Billy, ######### 🤣

Autohaven is the shop in which Wraith used to work

And Wraith's job was to operate the car compactor in which, unbeknownst to him, people were crushed alongside cars

I know Hillbilly has a couple of "mechanic" cosmetics but both Death Wreck and Autoheaven Wreckers refer to the Wraith's lore ;)

    image.png

  • Poor Hillbilly with the Wraith's charms..

9/10 for the others, I always use specific killer-related charms as well

How would you all feel if we got this as a reward for having a prestige 3 character. I made it myself. It’s small, I’d want something more but this would be cool imo.

Honestly, I'd prefer 300k bloodpoints per character I have at P3

It wouldn't even be nearly enough to cover the BPs I "wasted" in addons and offerings and buying the perks from 0 again, but I would prefer that over a custom portrait in a menu that I see for half a second while switching characters

  • In theory:

Since every killer is unique, each has it's own "rating" that is used to match you with similarly "rated" survivor player, you could have a very high rating with Wraith, but a very low one with Nurse.

The moment you click "READY" the game takes the rating of the killer you have selected and tries to pair you with similarly rated survivor players. That is why you can't switch killer in lobby anymore, otherwise you could queue up with your lowest rating and switch to your highest AFTER the game matched you with low-rated survivors.

If the game cannot find similarly rated players it expands the "range" of similarity that accepts over time.

During a match, if you kill a survivor that had a higher rating than your, your rating is going to increase more than if you kill a survivor with a lower rating than yours. The opposite thing applies to escapes: if a survivor with a lower rating than yours escape, you'll lose more rating than if a survivor with higher rating than yours does.

    In practice:

No way of knowing whether this works or not, in my experience I keep bouncing between potatoes who don't really know the pallet placements at jungle gyms and fully experienced survivors that know how to perfectly chain together structures. No in-between.

  • SLUGGING AND HOLDING PLAYERS HOSTAGE

..are two different things and shouldn't be addressed in the same way

There, fixed your title for you

  • The same thing could be asked about all the other characters who didn't get a dedicated tome yet

Nah, better give David another tome, I'm sure noone cares about the lore of the other 15 survivors, right?

  • And THAT, everyone, is a real example of a situation in which tunneling is bannable

The killer went out of their way to ruin YOUR SPECIFIC game, so yeah, it should fall under the rare category of "bannable tunneling", other than being a childish and petty behaviour, ofc

  • 1. IIRC when they introduced EGC, after the release of Plague(?)

    2. No, never

    3. I wasn't around at the time but it was VERY bad, items used to have a different cost solely based on their position in the bloodweb, not their rarity, and you could get only 1 perk per bloodweb

    4. The gameplay is surely more balanced, if you were to transport the knowledge and tactics of today's survivors in old dbd it'd be impossible to play killer

    5. It gave an extra health state, just like Mettle of Man does today (and it used to give it to both the unhooked AND the unhooker)

    6. It was totally invisible unless you were sleeping and had aura reading on you while you were asleep outside his terror radius, and you were doing ANYTHING 50% slower while asleep

It sucked for Freddy too because once he found an awake survivor, he'd have to put them to sleep MANUALLY before being able to hit them, and that took 7 seconds

    Artist and Trickster

Technically Twins if you down with Victor. There isn't a mori for just Victor.

Pyramid Head and Nemi can also down from a range, they're still close, but you can get downs from other sides of tiles.

I know why I didn't think of them, I LOTHE trickster and don't play him and really only played Artist less then a handful of times.

Victor would be simple, give him a mori animation, and as you said the others are already really close, so the small jump wouldn't be all that jarring.

Keep in mind, deep wound exists and could be triggered with ANY killer since it can be tied to a stiptic agent used the survivor so it can happen with any killer

Unfortunately not. We had many issues with the contest entries on the forums - one of those is the people making alternate accounts to bump their entries and the main one is that it's pretty hard to validate the entry Countries from the forums, and as the competition has restricted Countries due to Legal reasons, this is something that cannot be altered.

Can we do it informally though?

Like "Ehy guys here's my submission for the contest FYI!" or do you think that would invalidate someone's entry in the actual contest?

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942249#Comment_2942249

Speeding up the process might be fair if it is an understood process. Like if a base game mechanic says "Bleed out speed is increased by 100% per crow circling the Survivor". What needs to be avoided is giving the Survivor something like a "PRESS E TO DIE" button that can immediately punish a Killer's score for doing nothing wrong. Because we need a way to separate the two scenarios of "I am watching you bleed out because I'm a jerk" and "I'm a literal Twins player, what do you want from me?"

That's what OP is talking about

If you are being slugged for so long that you have crows on your head, you should be able to hold down a button and speed up the process

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942210#Comment_2942210

And this behavior does not NEED to be "discouraged". It is a legitimate and DEVELOPER APPROVED tactic. You are not required to pick someone up. There are perks like Deerstalker and Knock Out in the game SPECIFICALLY for people that WANT to slug.

I can agree that slugging is part of the game and it's a legitimate tactic

What I find hard to agree with is that slugging someone until they get 3 crows circling above them and still leaving them on the ground to bleed out should not be discouraged

At that point the killer is not going to hook the survivor anyway, so why not speeding up the process?

  • The camera movement is a bit too much "jittery" but it would be much better than the lame one we have right now

This is only for mobile for now, right?

  • Don't just get someone who we've know for years and be like " oh btw he gay" just for representation.

Isn't this the definition of "Coming out"?

Make someone new who is gay but also has a personality.

So you're saying that David King now doesn't have a personality of his own? Or are you complaining that his personality is not completely based on his sexual preferences? Because creating a new character and having their backstory completely based on the fact that they are part of the LGBT+ community would feel more like an "empty" token character just for the sake of having representation IMO

  • @P3ToxicLaurie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2916370#Comment_2916370

Lol, was waiting for this comment.

Thats because I dont get basement bubbas NEARLY as much as I get farmers. Not even close.

People can play how they want? Dont complain about people being toxic then. Teabagging's fine with that logic. Flashlight clicking? Awesome. You know what. What if someone wants to hack? At least people on the forums are saying you can play however you want, so thats okay.

Play as you want as long as you respect the rules, of course

Hacking is not respecting the game rules, as being AFK isn't, so don't even try saying I justify hacking

The only "toxic" thing I don't condone is hateful comments (like death threads or racist/homophobic stuff) in the end game chat, because those are never acceptable under any circumstance

Teabagging is fine, yes, I don't even know why people have an issue with that? Roll your eyes to that childish behaviour and move on

Flashlight clicking is not an issue, unless you're using macros that can trigger epilectic responses in other people, and using macros should be bannable, IIRC?

  • But that's not playing the game correctly..

It could be funny to you, but not for another person, you see?

Let people play how they want as long as they are not AFK (that's bannable if done repeatedly) and get out of the match as soon as you can if you're not having fun

  • @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

So after all these mmr tests what solution did the devs come up with? "Let's just hide the grades so maybe people will complain less about going against red rank players, even if it doesn't mean anything" That's the only thing they came up with right? Cuz the matches are still trash. Endgame is longer than the actual match cuz all gens get done in 5 mins, 4 dead hards every game and full meta builds. They're just too egoistic to remove the abomination that is sbmm aren't they? We don't want an iProvEd version of sbmm (cuz you're bad at improving things lol), we want it gone. They bled players ever since sbmm was introduced and they still haven't learned. I'm pretty sure now their strategy is "lets just sell as many cosmetics as we can before the game dies completely".

Good, keep reporting bad matches in the FEEDBACK section and they'll keep tweaking the matchmaking rules now that they cannot blame the grades being visible in the endgame screen

Hiding grades is only a step in the right direction to (hopefully) get the system to work better

  • @JohnWick1654 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2901969#Comment_2901969

Top right what you referring to are grades,

Rank = MMR and they are both hidden

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2901997#Comment_2901997

based off my best? than why do I get potato survivors than?

You seem to confuse Rank, Grades, and MMR

Ranks don't exist anymore, they were renamed in Grades and split in 5 "levels": Ash, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Iridescent and are still shared between all your killers or all your survivors

MMR is the hidden number used for matchmaking, it has NOTHING to do with grades (or ranks, as they were called) and is individually calculated for each killer, but shared between all survivors (you could be an high MMR Oni, but a low MMR Legion, for example)

based off my best? than why do I get potato survivors than?

For a killer that you NEVER used, the game (theoretically) calculates a "new killer" MMR starting from the value of your highest killer, we don't know though what it does to calculate it, it could very well be that the game takes your highest MMR (let's say, 1500) and divides it by 3 to get your "new killer" MMR (so like, 500 in the example we took) and pairs you with survivors of a similar MMR

A spike is a fraction of a second once in a blue moon, else it's general a network issue.

It's not playable for the killer chasing you (and I don't know from the other side as we don't see the killer's ping in game)

How many times I follow a survivor and he is suddenly 20 meters away on my left. Cheaters, yes, but so easy for these stains to do as long as the server allows it.

In a game, I already have problem with survivors having more than 80ms ping. Maybe players should be grouped by ping range. No reason to ruin an otherwise good match by having some stuttering/teleporting players.

A spike is a fraction of a second once in a blue moon, else it's general a network issue.

I wish reality was how you describe it

    I really wish

Not everyone is hooked up to the ISP station with optic fiber entering directly into their router, remember that :)

And stuttering/teleporting like you describe it needs higher ping than 150

  • @drsoontm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2892997#Comment_2892997

I've seen several times players with a ping in the 100ms going to 1080ms whenever I was chasing them. (And going back to the 100ms when they were far away.)

I can't believe even 150ms is allowed. It's just unplayable.

Ping spikes happen, it often happens to me as well and it's as ######### as it sounds

Now if it's ALWAYS, ONLY during chases that's a little bit suspicious, but I don't suppose you're constantly checking their ping while you're not in chase with them

150 is still playable, you simply stutter here and there

200+ is oof, you can't even vault windows or walk straight most of the time

  • I think 1100 is the limit, I've never seen higher and the few occasions I've seen it it remained stable for far too long on that nice round number for being a real ping

If your solution was working we wouldn’t have several threads about this charm here on the forums. Just because you got your charm, doesn’t mean it’s working as intended. But thanks for trying to help.

I didn't get it yet, because I know I didn't satisfy the requirements yet

  • Getting codes from fog whisperers was much more fun.

    Absolutely not. ######### that #########.

  • Just because it's free it doesn't mean "free players" can be pestered with "New level unlocked, click here to get your reward!" and then be given the middle finger when there's nothing there for 6 more levels

It's ridiculous, and giving even a meager 10k bloodpoints per level would help everyone with the grind while at the same time being a low-effort improvement for BHVR

  • I don't have any issues with charms, except for the 10 recolored charms we get in each rift that have barely any difference

The real issue is all the ######### empty spots in the Rift, just put 10000 bloodpoints or something in each at least, cmon, there's no reason to leave all those empty spots in it

  • Really? That's nice, I always wanted to do that

Can't you check the "Show all" checkbox in the filter and select the default outfit from there?

  • Clown's Mr. Puddles and Feng's Demon Slayer are community outfits that were initially given out in a Rift, they both came to the store and could be bough only with Shards.
