But for real can we have killer repeat prevention instead of map repeat prevention. 7 Weskers in a row got me thinking I'm playing Resident By Daylight

honestly I don't mind playing same map 5 times in a row unless it's like Coldwind or something

I never said it was fun, just smart. With how much gen regression is usually needed to bring gen times to managable levels at higher MMRs, aura perks are hard to fit in.

    DMS?

It’s the nature of the game, and IMO why it can be so frustrating at times. The game is async in both player count and fundamental ‘team’ abilities. It’s like if dodgeball had no back and forth but one side always pelted the other with balls and the other side could only earn points by avoiding them but could never throw one back. One side is entirely defense with no offense so there’s no back and forth like most other games. I tend to enjoy killer more than survivor but play whichever has the BP bonus. Killer matches can be frustrating with particularly slippery survivors but I never feel like I’m getting railed quite like a survivor match that’s playing poorly. I mean what are the survivors going to do - click their flashlights at me? Yes, that’s certainly the same as getting tunneled out of the game. 🙄

Basically killers have an oversized ability to make the survivors miserable if they want. It’s just the game.

    exactly..

I did. And I played a lot more of this killer than just a few matches to conclude that he's not broken at all. Unless you think that mid-high B-tier is a broken killer territory.

    Solo survivor?

It seems like every killer I face or watch almost always have addons on, even players that dedicate themselves mostly to one killer. I'm not saying people shouldn't use addons or anything, I'm mainly wondering if anyone else feels kinda bad when using them.

Personally, using addons feels bad because they're a consumable. I really don't want to train myself on certain addons just to run out of them, and I don't want to continuously pump bloodpoints into a killer I play a lot because I don't really care about Prestige past 10. My goals when I play this game are to unlock everything I can, have fun, try to win, and try to improve. Using addons would make it easier to win, but harder to improve as I'm relying on something I won't always have.

It also irks me a bit when everyone's making videos showcasing perk combos and such while always bringing in a decked-out item. Like, I get that Mettle of Man is good when you have 2 self heals on your medkit. I'm sure Prove Thyself is carrying your team, nothing to do with your brand new part or anything. But ESPECIALLY that Ace in the Hole video. Why would you bring an item in when you are scavenging for more you're not even showcasing the "you keep addons on escape" feature you're just throwing away your inventory

Anyways, if you know anyone who makes DBD videos and doesn't constantly use really good addons and items all the time, I'd love to see it!

I rather use weak or no addons, idk if it's because of challange, one of the killers was necessary because on Nurse I didn't want to be reliant on range addons,

idk why I don't really want to use expensive addons, I guess one of the reasons is I don't have a lot of them, which I don't even know how when I never use them

  • @AetherBytes said:

The killers for some reason 9/10 times instantly start returning to the hook after the unhook unless they found someone.

This is actually pretty normal. Why should I keep patrolling and possibly find no one when I can just go back to where I know theres at least 2 survivors? It's not tunnelling (Unless it's explicitly to chase the guy on hook) just smart gameplay.

yeah and a fun one I assume, find survivor, hook, leave hook, come back hook, down, hook, leave hook, come back hook, down, hook, leave hook, come back hook, down

such fun gameplay, you must be really extatic from it

If you patrol gens you might find a survivor or two, depends on RNG.

If you go back to hook you WILL find survivors.

Anyone who even remotely trying to play "serious" would choose to go hook, rather than gens.

I don't see Otzdarva constantly returning to hooks,

    also RNG? really?

It's pretty cringe when they down the AFK player, although I don't want to play with that player either cause he just made the game unwinnable for survivors. It's also cringe when they keep going after the weakest player who has less than a 100 hours in.

I get the enjoyment towards killing and 4k, but I'd rather personally get kills and 4k without using cringe tactics.

There are survivors who don't care about winning. What you are describing is not the fun part of the game only, it's having both fun and winning/progressing the game. Some survivors find fun only in playing with their duo and blinding/flashlight saving each other. They don't care if it's to the detriment of their team. Maybe if their mate dies they also DC so they can enter another game. For them that is pure fun.

That's basically the point I am making. You can ask for players to play for fun and you'll get teammates as the ones illustrated above and maybe nicer killers who don't tunnel and camp (and they wouldn't feel the need to if more people played like the teammates with the flashlights, because 3k would be easy peasy). If you actually want to win then you're at odds already with the guys bringing flashlights and chasing the killer. I doubt you would enjoy getting them as teammates.

Basically you are not looking for a "fun" experience, you are looking for a way to make the game more "fun" in the sort of way YOU subjectively see as fun. Which is basically, why do killers try too much and why don't survivors try hard enough? But if you read around you'll see lots of people who find survivor fun (especially if it's killer replies) because it's chill and not stressful (which means they like not having to try hard enough).

I understand you find it more fun when you somewhat try hard (but not enough to run the most meta/broken stuff on survivor and play 4man SWF) instead of goofing around and not caring about the end result. Your way of having "fun" though is not universal unfortunately, although I think it's the most common one.

As for the game being more fun in the past, all games get stale the more you play them. And if you adjust to how a game it's played maybe that game gets changed and what you knew doesn't work anymore and you feel washed up and can't keep up (I know I feel like that with League of Legends nowadays). And this being the event also means there are people coming back who have dropped the game for some time and play in a less than favorable way or efficient way. (maybe back when they played killers weren't as cutthroat and they could win games just fine even if they spent 5 mins goofing around or something).

I guess man's asking too much not to have killer 4k at every match, literally, 4k 4k 4k,

any killer any map any prestige, 4k, DC, 4k, noob survivor, 4k, instant unhooker, 4k, camper, 4k, 8 hooks at 5 gens remaining, 4k,

the "fun" you are describing, is no fun, that's literally goofing around, the thing you're describing as "fun" is as fun as going outside in the rain and trying to swim in the mud

  • @JustAShadow said:

"And not make their kit broken". And Nurse's kit is already arguably broken. You really like to ignore the details of my statements, don't you?

but broken Singularity can be buffed because he's weaker than nurse?

  • @mikewelk said:

It's usually as a result of de-pipping (however you spell it) that people sweat each game from my observations. Once killers get to iri one they kind of relax with tunneling a little. Just a little.

The survivor stuff is just the beauty of MMR! 😍

you need hooks and chases to pip, tunneling actually loses you some emblem progress

    @JustAnotherNewbie said:

I don't think you can complain survivors are not playing well and not doing gens and then demand people play for fun.

Survivors doing gens is not a fun time for either survivor or killer, but it's the only way to win.

Obviously the survivors who play for fun will bring some combination of flashlight/blastmine/flashbang/head on combo and chase the killer and I doubt you'll have fun with them on your team.

This could all be mitigated if people had means to communicate. Then you could also join in on the fun if you felt like it, or if you felt like sweating you could also direct your teammates somewhat (some survivors just don't have the knowledge/experience playing vs certain strategies and it's not bad to be able to let them know stuff)

Your games are unfun because they are unco-ordinated.

I also get angry when I see two people on the same gen, one person trying to come for the unhook but then gets chased and the other two survivors are still immersed in their gen and I hit second stage. Or people doing the outermost gens while I'm trying to know the central gen that I know will make our game a lot easier and they keep bringing the killer here.

As for the killer going back to the unhook, yeah it's to be expected. I'd do the same thing if I had not found someone else by that time. You are guaranteed a second person there. If anything you should be just as annoyed at your teammates and the game's design offering no communication. The survivors should be baiting the killer away from the hook. I can understand being annoyed or frustrated when the killer is in chase with someone as you unhook and then he simply drops that chase and comes back, because he wasted 3 people's times and it's a net positive for the killer. It's hard to deal with.

But the other stuff are things that can be done if survivors were less scared of the killer, more experienced and had some sort of communication (this is a design flaw and falls on BHVR).

actually, if survivors understood the beauty of doing their job the game would be more fun,

because tell me what's more fun:

    • chasing the killer for a while, getting downed, hooked, and eventually unhooked - 0 gens popped, barely any progress
    • chasing the killer for a while, getting downed, hooked, and eventually unhooked - at least 1 gen pop or about to, or huge gen progress, varying by the playstyle of killer ofc

I mean, what do you want them to do? If they can't find someone to chase, going back to the hook is a good idea. You go from not knowing where anyone is to having a good idea of where 50% of people are.

find survivor that's doing gens because it's one of their Emblem objectives?

    @Annso_x said:

That's just normal, if you don't find somebody why would keep doing nothing when you know exactly where at least 2 survivors are?

As for the general sweatiness and useless teammates, I'm afraid it's not an experience exclusive to the event

really? because if I remember back in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, the game felt a lot better back then, at least compared to current gameplay feel with the event going on..

Buffs can be applied if they fit the killer's intended playstyle, make playing that killer more appealing and fluid, and not make their kit broken even if they are not on the weaker side.

sure, let's remove Nurse's look at the ground forced animation in fatigue, for fluidity and appeal then

I play mostly killer, but got back to playing survivor after purchasing the End Transmission chapter. And, oh boy. I don’t know why people even bother playing survivor any more (and a huge thank you to those who do!).

I played about sixteen games over two days.

9 of these games the killer were afk. I even started taking a few screenshots because if someone had told me about that, I would’ve had a hard time believing them.

And out of the 7 killers who were playing three camped at the hook, even with 4 or 5 gens left anf two slugged, also at 5 gens left. It was as if their goal was to get the game over with with as little fun and as little points fir everybody as possible. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It felt like complete opposite of what I remembered playing as a survivor to be like.

So I went back to play killer like usual, with a whole new understanding of why people sometimes write to me after matches just to thank me for playing fairly as the killer.

But my point is, yes, I wish they’d get rid of the DC penalty, too. Or at least make it shorter. I never even knew why it was such a problem that there needed to be a penalty for it (whenever I play as killer DCs almost never happen and I never saw a reason to be upset about them). I mean, if slugging and hook camping are seen as legitimate game strategies, why punish a survivor player for sacrificing their blood points by when they’re being slugged and used as bait? Or even worse, when there are only two survivors left and the killer uses slugging to prevent the hatch from spawning?

I also don't understand how people enjoy playing the game at low MMR when killers play like this, and I know how it feels since I'm probably low MMR too occasionaly.

And since I mostly play survivor, I also know low MMR killer is so much easier (I used to main killer), I can basically on almost all killers get a 12 hook 4k every single time, not to mention I also sometimes go out my way and leave deathhook players on the ground because of my generosity.

Most of my games I get 12 chases, sometimes less, sometimes more (because, you know, good jukes)

((TLDR: I feel like taking something and leaving nurse with less is a bit much, especially when the add-on could be made to change up her playstyle to make going against her less of the same thing over and over)

I don't like the idea of taking something and giving nothing in return, not to mention not having range defeats the purpose of the perk from what I experienced. How I see the perk is giving you a long ranged option. The problem with that is how strong having long range is when you can attack not long afterward, giving map control and pressure at very little effort. If you both couldn't attack after an 'overcharged blink' and the fatigue was longer from the overcharge then it would give survivors much more agency in the exchange and lessen the pressure on survivor health while keeping the presence at the area (and that's not even mentioning that the extra fatigue might give survivor time to escape if there were a longer blink cooldown as an additional downside). There aren't enough killers where you can know where someone is across the map and do anything about it. Blight and MAYBE huntress being the exceptions. I don't mind having little to no kill potential at long range, that makes sense, but taking away her potential to scare survivors off of gens and not giving anything back feels a bit unfair. Granted this is about bringing nurse down to better levels, so I will grant you that it might not be enough, but I think the idea of making it to alter how her power can be used rather than just a simple and small buff has merit. Look at some of her spasmodic breath, you give up teleport potential after a hit for boosted speed making it to where you go in for a sudden attack and then chase them down rather than keep blinking.

You don't like taking something and not giving something in return? So if a character is overpowered and you would be a developer, you would nerf it and then buff it somewhere else, keeping it overpowered?

Ummmm. I always aim for 12 hook games. Does it always happen ? Of course not. It's always the goal though

Yeah but you are not the majority, so even if you strictly every single game aim for 12 hooks, that doesn't mean "everyone" does that..

  • @WeaverReaver42 said:

I am by no means a nurse main, but I would agree that the long range teleport you can put on her provides too much pressure. If they had it to where the addon instead let you 'overcharge' the blink for extra distance, after which you wouldn't be able to attack because of an overcharge fatigue debuff, that would make it balanced. It would give players time to react to nurse suddenly appearing rather than getting downed out of nowhere like I had happen when I played nurse, while also letting her have the insane map mobility I like about the addon.

or, the range add ons could be just nerfed and reach less further?

ok, show me a video of someone doing 12 hooks 9 games in a row

You can have whatever win condition you want. But I want games where 12 hooks is the goal with a 4k if I play well....People hate camping and tunneling, right ? Well I want to give 12 separate chases to the best of my ability

I'm sorry, but you're not traversing maps like mothers dwelling, eyrie, temple, etc etc AND giving 12 chases with basekit nurse.

    Nobody does 12 chases,

if you can do 12 chases and get nearly 4k than some tunneling Tom gets 4k every game just because he plays the same killer and add-ons

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3084665#Comment_3084665

Your answer is. Some of the maps are way too ######### big, and her range is fine for now. Basekit nurse is nothing but trickster on something like mothers dwelling, eyrie, etc. To act like that's not the case is just being ignorant about it.

I can hit my blinks. With or without range and the speed it grants. It's far from a crutch. I'm realistic about what needs done in DBD. Basekit nurse traversal is not ok on quite a few maps. Sadly the side effect of distance being neccesary. Is that it makes her a little to strong on the maps that her basekit is actually ok on

You mean by necessary that you can't get 4k without range add-ons or you're saying that Nurse is weak killer?

Because to me it sounds like if Nurse can't 4k she isn't viable..

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/335738/my-only-problem-with-nurse

I think you should play the nurse. Often and regularly. You'll find that playing without addons is much more complicated than it looks 😉

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3075741#Comment_3075741

The nurse doesn't become an OP when she uses addons; however, I completely agree that she

    - can put much more pressure than without addons

    - can generate a snowball potential more easily

    - ask the survivors to improve their reflexes, to play better, to think much more as a team

Not impossible. Harder, but not impossible.

I feel like the survivors don't anticipate the nurse's actions enough.

Let's take the example of the "double range addon" build 😉

When I use it on my nurse, it's not rare that after having hooked a survivor, and having got the localization of another one thanks to BBQ, I teleport on this last one... which had remained quite wisely on its generator 😂

So, at worst, a hit, at best, a grab.

While anticipating my action, he could have either come closer to avoid being detected by BBQ, or hide in a locker, or move away at the last moment from the generator, stop running, and continue to move away discreetly so that I lose him 😝

When I play against a nurse, I tend to listen well to the sounds I hear 😁

If I hear her do 2 tp's, and almost immediately after she does another tp, it's a strong indication of the reload addon.

If I see her charging her tp when she is so far away that I can hardly see her, and the next second she is right on top of me, it's more like a range addon.

I think to be precise, we should say: these are the problems of the survivors who don't know how to play against the nurse, and who, instead of wanting to progress, prefer to complain on the forums H24.

Do you know how to play against the nurse? Prove it, and post the links of all the games in which you played against the nurse.

I usually chase the Nurse 5x the duration an average soloq player does. At minumum.

Nurse needs a Rework. Her basekit has to change. There is 0 point in nerfing her Add Ons, yes, it would be a step in the right direction, but it would be better if BHVR would not half-ass her Nerf again and focus on the fact that her Basekit is broken.

And honestly, a broken Killer with a bunch of Meme-Add Ons does not really sound good either.

If you say her basekit is broken, how come Nurse only is reliable against good survivors with them?

Disagree. Basekit Nurse feels absolutely terrible to play. It isn't even a winning, losing, or balance thing, it just feels too slow. It's actually quite an unfun experience, I suggest you try it against higher MMR survivors. You won't enjoy it, even if you win. Most people don't understand a basekit Nurse because you never see one, but if you did you'd be happy because you'd probably escape most of the time on most maps.

Her range addons absolutely are a problem, and I'd say they're the biggest reason even a bad Nurse can land their blinks due to the speed of travel and distance. That and her blinks should not count towards a single insta-down perk.

Why do you keep bringing up instadown, if she cant suddenly jump cross half map because its small the instadown effect becomes less impactful with it.

Pretty much, base kit nurse is basically a free win unless the map is small.

You rack up so many fatigues from blinking you've spent over 50% of the game in them.

Yeah, lets remove nurse fatigue so you can just glide around the map and hit people like it's nobody's business.

    @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078866#Comment_3078866

IF they ever change maps. They could get rid of range. It's a neccesary evil for now though. With all the huge maps in existence.

I don't think you'll find a single self respecting nurse player. Who believes the speed boost from range is ok. Why is it like this now...? No clue

Are the maps too huge or are range add-ons your crutch for catching survivors?

Because travelling around map isn't the only thing range addons help you do...

    @Little_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078802#Comment_3078802

I completely agree with your description of his basekit, however, I don't really understand your last paragraph.

The range addons will certainly increase the tp range of a bad nurse but ... if she doesn't know how to tp accurately, if she doesn't know how to tp while turning her camera at the same time, if she doesn't have good reflexes, if her muscle memory isn't sharp, if she doesn't anticipate the movements of the survivors ... range addons or not, a bad nurse won't get anything out of it.

so your argument on keeping killer strong is because players are trash?

    @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078779#Comment_3078779

Why is "high MMR" even an argument, when we all know that the MMR in DBD is complete nonsense?

There can be pretty bad Nurses that suddenly get easier games just because they equip range addons

    @Little_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078880#Comment_3078880

    That's exactly why :

    - if a survivor claims that the nurse is OP, let him show us how he plays against her, through enough videos for us to judge.

    - if a player claims that her basekit is perfect, let him prove it by playing nurse with only his basekit, 0 addons, so we can judge.

No supporting videos? Ok, that's bullshit, then.

    I used to main Nurse,

and who gaslit this post comment section into an idea of range addon removal,

I simply said if they nerfed range she wouldn't be such pain, she wouldn't be 50 meters away and still have chance of blinking right on top of you and hitting you.

All perks that grant you effects on attack are tied into 1 getting to person and 2 procceeding to hit them, if you have range addon number 1 becomes nonexitant you blink from Australia to Europe because you got 2 range add ons and 2nd blink ready

    @lav3 said:

After patch, the reduced sprint time after getting injured really feels like a issue when versing Nurse.

Gaining distance, keeping distance against range addon nurse? haha

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078907#Comment_3078907

That's what I mean though. When I was talking about range. I meant her add ons. Her range add ons are fine for now. Unless they ever change maps. Her BASEKIT range is ok on smaller maps like dead dawg, Gideon, coal tower. It's aweful on mother's dwelling, eyrie, etc etc.

The range add ons should NEVER give a speed boost though. That's some monks #########

Big Nurse defender, are you scared they would gut Nurse below Sedako level just by adjusting her addons? give me a break

and btw "try addonless nurse" that argument is trash, 95% of my Nurse games are without addons, and addons I usually took were ones for fatigue or recharge.

her basekit is ok? thanks alot Sherlok nobody knew that

    @Little_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078884#Comment_3078884

What he and I mean, and you understood it very well, is that the way you talk about the nurse and her basekit proves that you don't play her, let alone at a high level, namely against experienced, talented survivors who know how to play against her.

And if we are wrong, and this is in fact the case, prove it to us 😀

I can agree that good players are pain as a addonless nurse,

but at the same times range addons flip a coin and now you are the dominator,

    @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078944#Comment_3078944

We're literally saying the same thing. I'm also saying that her add ons are fine for now. Because maps are way to big. Even for nurse. She needs them.

IF they ever reduced map sizes. They should rework them a bit. But not right now. It's more of a map design issue. Not a basekit nurse issue.

"there are big maps that exist therefore you can equip 2 addons to blink from one end of MacMillan estate to other, see a survivor 30 meters away from you and still hit them because you blinked precisely"

    @foxsansbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078976#Comment_3078976

She really can't. And I keep thinking to myself, "Remember Freddy, remember Wraith, remember Deathslinger and just keep at it."

you compare nonexistant killers to still one of the most strongest killers in the games?

    @Deathstroke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3080106#Comment_3080106

Start as weakest gets 2nd strongest while using his power.

so what you want is for Oni the "2nd best killer while using power" to have less weaknesses?

where's the balance in strengths and weaknesses?

  • @TheLastHook said:

I hear you man, it would be nice to have all Killers like M1 The Trapper but with powers like Spirit so that it becomes BLIND once starts chasing you. Right?

edit: if Nurse is OP, Discord is 10x more OP.

    ok what's your point?

They nerfed spirit, girl that walks fast but stops seeing survivors still hears them,

but they cant nerf girl that sees you than jumps through terrain while keeping her vision and than slaps you or blinks again to slap you

with add-ons she can see you across the map and in 2seconds she is behind yo butt slapping you,

and they nerfed nurse like forever ago where she has to recharge her blinks now, but that just made her annoying to play, she still can jump across the map with add-ons

she's pretty ballanced without them but once she puts on the right add-ons it's no longer fair if the Nurse is good

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/335738/my-only-problem-with-nurse

Nurse is OP but it's unfair that she is only killer get to be that good other killers should be buffed to closer her then she would be balanced. Oni for example should get his power at the start of game so he would be 2nd strongest killer on the game tier below nurse but still viable. With nurse you can win 500 games a row so I think maybe then you could win 100 games a row with oni.

Yeah but the thing is if you mean win by getting a 4k then you need add-ons, because if the survivors are good there is a chance one or two escape because you can't blink across the map in 6 seconds..

Also Nurse imo isn't op, she only becomes op when add-ons are introduced.

I very love DBD and i have a lot of time in it , but some times , it can pull my brian up soo damn many time , i delete the game , any good idea how i can treat all the things to not stress out dbd , iam only stressed out if it is my 6 match in a row when i get sacrificed , any proven method ? you guys what do when DBD get your brain up ?

Don't play for surviving? Even if you care about Grades those can be levelled up without living.

Play for the gameplay not the outcome,

    • skillckecks
    • rescue missions
    • running the killer for as long as possible and as efficiently as possible
    • flashlight saves
    • mindgames
    • playing around perks
    • usage of map features
    • baiting killer for swing

    And whatever others are saying..

The yellow add-on is still better unless you are going for some hit-and-release playstyle

Wow, than it's a bad description,

how am I supposed to know that "Redeemer's shots inflict Mangled" = "Nah bro u gotta reel and M1 them too".

My question is why change add-on's behaviour without changing it's description?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The yellow Add On got buffed at some point, because I am pretty sure before you had to hit them to inflict Mangled.

Obviously this Buff makes the green Add On obsolete.

What are you talking about, both add-ons imply hitting your shot with your gun

What's the point, it'll only save a few seconds - I'd rather the devs focus on fixing bugs than putting in the effort to code this honestly.

I don't know, if you play 100 games and skip the 6 second or whatever sacrifice animation you save 10 minutes

You don't have to be facing a swf to get gen rushed. Any competent player can sit on a gen.

exactly, there is no skill in doing gens so why not make it really difficult if it's one of the main things they want to do?

    @Remedicist said:

Ugh, the devs are [insert role you don't like here] mains so they'd never do this

well yes but I also main [insert the same role] so they should listen to me

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

They will never remove swf. If they do that then they kill the game. They're not going to punish players for playing with their friends.

What do you mean, but what about everytime I get Genrushed by the SWF sweatlords?

they can't just have free wins every game like that..

And using a power effectively will only come with time. But whats the harm of playing the tutorial with other killers then Trapper? What does it matter if the KI bugs out and doesn't know how to handle anything? You could still use your new killer in a stressfree environment and don't be an utter fool in your first match, just a very big fool.

Perhaps, but as far as I am aware, most players are fine with picking up killers, so devs have no reason to really implement this..

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029417#Comment_3029417

Its a pure mechanical thing, like when you buy a new tool, you sit down at your desk, switch on your lamp and just examine it from all sides and get a feel for it before you take it to the workshop to do some work. Its not something fancy, but with a new killer it would be nice to have a setting were you can just USE the power and see how it works without anyone interfering or poping gens in the background or whatever.

Its not supposed to be a main mode or anything, just a smol map, two survivors running around and done. Yes, you can do this on any match that you throw, but it still a somewhat stressful situation. And yes, you could always ask a friend to do a private lobby, but thats still another person to rely on and some people would just love to try and figure things out in utter peace.

I'm not sure the guy wasn't struggling with the power usage, and as far as learning new killers, there's this thing called Deja Vu mixed with experience,

for example Trickster is just a Huntress that throws faster and needs multiple hits to injure.

  • @SweetTerror said:

Apologies as I know I've said this before, but I decided to give the Dredge another go, and in my second only match with him I secured just four hooks and 0 kills. All I'm trying to do is practice, and this is the second match in a row where I've gone against survivors with full on gen rushing builds. Everyone brought cakes too, and despite that the match lasted only minutes. Seriously, nightfall only happened one time because that's how fast the match went! I secured the least amount of blood points out of everyone too.

Simply put, this isn't fun, and until BHVR incorporates their own practice mode I'm done trying new killers. I'm a casual gamer at best, so my heart goes out to any new players because they sure as hell don't have it easy. Being thrown into the deep end when you don't know how to swim makes for a horrible learning tool.

I don't see how playing vs bots would teach you how to play Dredge,

he's a M1 killer with the ability to teleport to lockers,

what would you get from bots? you will destroy them, than jump into a game vs real players and get "genrushed" again...

what's the point of playing against bots if you wanna be good against good players?

  • @Peanits said:

We do not balance for any group of players in particular. The game's for everyone, not just the top 1%. If doing something to make the game more enjoyable for the 1% at the top would make it less enjoyable for the other 99% of players, it's probably doing more harm than good.

I'll share this graph that we've had floating around recently again, but have a look at the width of the lines:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V6HP4SZ9BFVK/perkusagebymmr-killers.jpg

The width shows the number of matches. You'll notice that the vast, vast majority of them are in the middle of the pack. Meanwhile on the top ends, that decreases dramatically (4,227 times less). While these are for perks, the actual distribution of players in terms of matchmaking ratings are very similar. You see a lot of people in the middle, but very few at the ends.

(Prefacing this by saying that this is by no means to call anyone in particular out:) Realistically, a lot of people place themselves higher than they really are. Loads of people claim to be at the top, but there's no way that everyone claiming to be up there actually is. And that's okay! It doesn't matter if you're at the top or in the middle, or even low. Your opinion still matters as much as anyone else.

Why do the first sentances cancel each other out?

My man. This other dude (@JohnWick1654) posted this video to the forums two days ago, just asking about masks being bugged (turns out he had them all). Go to the 58 second mark. The chad stuns a Nurse mid-blink, dumb techs her, and gets away. He is running no exhaustion perk. The Nurse ended the match with two hooks.

Maybe he can shed some more details on the match, if he was solo or SWF, etc. If you still need it?

You have to be trolling. Let me put it this way: If Otz went up against people at his level, do you really think he would 4k with Trapper? There are bad killers. There's no way around it. There are multiple tier lists saying Trapper is a bad killer. Don't believe me? Here's your boy literally D-listing Trapper. End of story.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZRU29YXK4H9S/otz-trapper.png

Oh so just because a Trapper is D tier it automaticaly means it is virtually impossible to get 4k,

no way in life and death will he ever be able to get 4k,

4k with trapper is so hard you are lucky to get one....

Corn blindness is real. Nor do I even need to mention the disgusting set ups that cold winds get. That arnt great for Billy

rip Doctor, Nurse now has 2 maps I guess :D

Coldwind is actually really good for Billy since there are far less trees for survivors to hide behind..
