I prestiged Pig just to blend into environments better. Tragically, Hag's prestige blood looks she fell into a vat of red paint, so I don't even use it.
-
DS should only be effective earlier in the game. DS with 5 gens up? Works as normal.
DS at the end of the game? 1 second stun, and auto-Exhaustion, disables Adrenaline if it's available, and mayyyybe causes Hindered.
Dealing with one isn't bad, particularly if you find it early (first or second survivor). The problem is when you're 3 gens deep and you haven't burned it, yet.

Took ages but I have done them all solo I think lol I played Jake in any teams anti did his firsthow did you get Pig and Huntress, I find theirs to be the most problematic.
Pig: God-tier map/survivor reading. I managed it on the first try on Red Forest, but that's one of my best maps for Pig due to predictable spawn points and object locations.
Surveillance and Hangman's Trick are basically useless, but you have to capitalize on Make Your Choice as much as you can to establish as much spread pressure as possible.
-
Average/Balanced, like B-tier. Not as good as Huntress or Pig, but he's pretty okay.
Seems pretty dependent on triggering at least 2 Deep Wounds on some of his attacks; if you're never able to do that his power is only good for jumping pallets on a first hit. In that case, a pallet breaking build might be good on him.
His movement speed addons feel like garrrrrrrrrbage. You barely feel them, if at all. Comparatively, the increased Mend time, power duration, and recovery feel better, but I haven't fully tested all of their impacts.
For a spoopy, high mobility killer, I prefer The Spirit with movement speed addons. The Legion is suuuuuper dependent on clustered survivors, since you can rarely cross any significant distances to strike multiple people deliberately, and the moment anyone realizes this is what you're setting out to do they'll immediately start Mending the moment they're hit.
As an aside, he's GOD-tier for farming bloodpoints. I've never hit a perfect 32k on any killer, even farming, due to the Sacrifice category. I'm not even sure how I did it. I haven't had a game under 25k bloodpoints, with most striking the 30k+.
-
I would stack it with Ruin and Overcharge, or Pop Goes The Weasel, probably. I'd have weeks to kill the survivors at that point.
-
The issue with trying to equate balance is that the killer's mechanics are designed against four survivors, but they're not balanced against four RANDOM survivors.
Survivors stack self sufficiency perks because, frankly, the team-centric ones aren't strong. You're not useful to your team if you're caught quickly, so you take SB/Lithe/DS/BL. You can't always waste a ton of time running around to find someone for healing, so you take Self Care (which is even more useful in situations where multiple people are injured and scattered). You can take Empathy, but that's better for seeing the killer. You can take Bond, but you still have to run around to find someone.
Why take Resilience/Spine Chill/This Is Not Happening/Leader/Prove Thyself/Botany Knowledge, etc.? They're not strong enough, and the mechanics/perks already in the game counter group-repairs, NOT solo repairs. Ruin is the prime example, doing very little to a solo repairing survivor, but far more effective against group repairs. The Legion just came out with a perk that notifies him when multiple people are repairing a generator.
The game itself does NOT promote the survivors working together on repairs--only working together on distracting the killer, and those two things are NOT the same for how a killer must try to pressure them and gain an edge.

I know, there's so many of these threads out there but it is widely accepted among both Killers and Survivors alike that the perk is overpowered, right?Annoying? Yes. OP? Definetly not.
I'd call it overpowered, because getting hit with more than one in a single match is absolutely cancer to play against.
Survivors complained about NOED, and killers complained about DS. Get rid of both, to be honest.

You're comparing something that makes a bad player marginally better at a specific killer, to something that offers varying degrees of usefulness to a varying number of players each match that it can be utilized, which is further complicated by how good at the game each individual using it is.and honestly 4-Man SWFs aren't as common it's more likely a 2-Man from my experience and if 2man groups are the reason you're "getting boned" then you need to get more practice.
I mean, I play 2-4 man SWF with voice, but I'm the best player out of us, and we regularly get bodied. Discord is only as good as the people using it, and Marth's ######### demonstration was with four great survivors (while himself also playing on a controller for E-Z-360).

TAG said:Here's a dumb question: Would it be possible to modify the Jigsaw Box's design to allow a Survivor to search it from any side (similar to a generator) instead of just one?
Idk I feel that might be a bit too hard on Pig, survivors would be able to hide behind itI think a better thing would be to allow the Jigsaw box to reset to another location if the pig’s presence (not Terror radius) stays near one for too long. Provided that there isn’t a survivor on a hook of course.
Well, body blocking boxes is unnecessary, and incredibly rare to be effective without using Amanda's Secret and limiting you to two boxes. On top of this, you need to waste time sneaking around the survivor to see if they get their trap off on the first box, and then beat them to the second.
This entire time, you're not pressuring anyone else, and wasting time on the survivor you're already pressuring. This is the whole problem with that garbage "Ultra Rare addon" for her. Even the Ambush w4llh4x you get is so small it's practically useless, as is trying to spend an entire match using Ambush. Using boxes is loud, so if you patrol near one you'll hear someone trying to use it.
If you're going to kill someone with some serious cheese on Pig, it's infinitely more effective to Ambush-camp hooks, as you'll still be able to bring better addons.

Azarov's, the two-zone version with the strip in the center connecting them.
As a survivor, I get the stupid version with the basement in the center, which means every hook is a basement hook (it's incredibly unbalanced).

I hate rank resets because I drop down and end up smashing people that are new and just trying to learn and enjoy the game, maybe explore around and have a fighting chance at living.
And then me, a previously rank 1 killer, comes in and bulldozes 5 random newbies.

I Ok, ypu need to stop... This game is for adults, presumably the kind who have played a video game before. There is no rule that new players are entitled to a welcome wagon and snuggles in their games. At this point, anyone JUST getting into the game knows what they signed up for, and it wasn't to be coddled.
Now granted, I hate rank reset too... because Ranks should not exist in a game that is not trully competitive in the first place. An assymetrical horror game does not scream "sport center" to me. The other problem is ranks and other fairly intangible rubrics are used to decide how weak and how strong something should be, because it must be prefaced with the illusion of balance in mind. If we could just get rid of the idea that a game where you can't possibly be properly prepared or adjusted for, at any given time, what killer you go against, what map you get, and other factors including perks and addons is supposed to be a competitively balanced game, then this game would be all the better for it and we could worry about things that are fun on both sides and accentuating those features, rather than focusing on the imbalances we don't like.
Camping and looping will always be in the game. So will D-strike and NOED. They aren't always fun to go against, but they are fun for those on the using end. I say that if there were enough fun, exciting, possibly risky ideas thrown into both sides, it would make the frustrations of this game pale compared to the fun factor.
Okay, you went on wild tangent there. My point is that I should be facing veterans, even at lower ranks, since everyone gets reset so often. I'm constantly facing lobbies of randoms where 1-2 people having only the base perks, or mixed tiers of the shared perks, and it's clear in-game that they're not seasoned in the slightest.
It isn't fun to 5-gen survivors, it really isn't. I know that's what people like Marth88 wanted, but there's no challenge in it. I resort to playing with my food, slugging people on their last hooks just to draw it out. I'm not someone that HAS to 4K every game, and I'm fine with 2-3K and a hatch escape. (Granted, I wish this sort of thing didn't hinge on how long Ruin lasts.)

Unnamed_Freak said:Wouldn't that be Legion? Might as well just play them.
You could make the argument that Legion is better Pig already, tbh.
I doubt it. Ambush is still useful for traversing some of the map quietly for surprising people, though you don't need to use its terrible roar-warning attack for this purpose.
-
Pig - No roar on Ambush, even if it they have to make it slower.
Doctor - Full rework of the Madness mechanic to not be so oppressive.
Trapper - Trapping generators to provide additional skill checks or repercussions for failing (and removal of Bloody Coil; it's seriously overpowered as hell).
The Spirit - Lunge fix/regular movement speed/fixing of positional accuracy.
Huntress - Lullaby having its range reduced to, like, 36 meters or something. Too much warning she's coming.
Hillbilly - Chainsaw nerfed, so we can have new map archetypes.
-
I wish the game was more isolating for survivors, and killers rebalanced for that purpose. There is less and less emphasis on stealth with each passing patch.
I do agree killers complain too much in general that they don't 4K every game.
-
I've edited the config file in every game I've ever played, and it won't get you banned. It shouldn't even be possible for it to trigger any kind of anti-cheat, as you should not typically have access to any features you can adjust that would.
For starters, what's generated is almost always options you're supposed to have accessible via the in-game UI. You can go much further and edit things client-side, such as with the Source Engine (oh lord what you can do with that engine!), but anything that's supposed to have a game-breaking impact is supposed to be disabled--even if you modified these parameters the server is not supposed to recognize or accept them.

lets be honest here:
doc is pretty much the only killer who can make use out of this perk by eliminating one of his counter plays.like, as soon as you leave a locker once you are notified that the killer runs it by giving you the exposed status effect, so you will probaply never go in a locker ever again in this trial. if you are in a SWF group, no one will go in a locker anymore.
this perk is too weak to even be a threat, so you will see literally no one use this perk in competetive and serious rounds.
i can see this perk being used in troll builds though...This basically ^^
It's a highly situational perk that will basically never be used or be worth a perk slot bar troll builds/maybe doctor.
Two-fold issue: The perk is broken with the Doctor (like BBQ & Chili is with Hillbilly), or the Doctor is broken with the perk.
And lockers are otherwise not very valuable against everyone else.
So, either lockers must change, or/and Doctor must change in tandem.
-
It's garbage unless you want to trap someone and then body block the second jigsaw box if their key wasn't in the first. Easy 'Game Over' kill, but scummy and boring.

I have just had the point blank truth and proof that DS users can't play without using DS. Becuase I have just had a durvisureiyh DS teabagging the hell out of me and when I eventually caught her she used it and then disappeared. Didn't even help teammates and as I killed all her teammates and 1 gen was left before the hatch she disconnects. That shows that certain survivors can't win without DS.touche, but i used to be a ds user then started hating the perk when I found out how on console you will just get tunneled for being the obession
You get tunneled on PC, too. lol It's extra funny when DS users rage when they get insta-gibbed by Rancor after having never been seen all game.
-
If you want 4K, make a 4K build.
I build my killers for reliable 3Ks, since 4K is just overachieving. Sometimes I find the fourth, sometimes I don't. (I play Pig/Hag, so it's a bit easier for me to control locations of the map without tracking perks.)

Modifying the game config typically doesn't trigger any anti-cheat, and usually requires direct intervention on behalf of the developers to disable any options that can have an impact on gameplay to gain an advantage.
I've modified graphics configs for virtually every game I've played in the last 10 years. If an option is capable of giving an advantage, its ability to be altered or have an effect is disabled, even if it shows up in the config file. (Ex: It took them a year, but they eventually disabled sv_cheats in Vindictus, and DbD doesn't allow you to disable the god-awful chase music, which hurts killers more than anything. TERA was unable to be modified to make use of quad core CPUs. Most games you can use SweetFX on with no repercussion.)
-
I hate The Game. I only rage quit if the killer is Doctor or Nurse. I'll even play it against a Hag, but it's an incredibly unbalanced map.
-
Huntress 20m+ hatchet hits will be a b*tch when I finally go for it, especially since it doesn't even give credit...

But like that's the thing. What if told you that most survivors want to be "runners" ? That they don't want to play immersed or stealthy because they find it boring. The devs aren't that dumb to just flip off the majority of the survivor community.
You honestly prefer running in circles to drop a pallet and going through window loops over and over to actually juking killers?

You can't lunge while blinded. You shouldn't even bother wasting time swinging and just follow the sound of their footsteps. If you can't hear them, they're probably trying to crouch by you.
Flashlights are near-useless at pallets if you have a decent audio configuration.

No. It's a waste of time you typically don't have. I just make a mental note of where they are in case of NOED, but rarely go out of my way to cleanse them unless it's a killer I do well against/there is no Ruin. That's a good strategy that works great right up until the time you're the one hooked and the rest of your teammates die to NOED. The other scenario is the killer ifns you once NOED procs and then you're royally screwed.
My teammates dying to NOED ain't my problem. lol Whenever someone is on a hook, and I don't know where the killer or NOED is, I don't go and save them. They ######### at me a lot for leaving them to die, but ######### I'm not going to get myself killed trying to be a hero.
