  • If the killer leaves, you virtually never get the 5k survival points. I don't know what needs to happen to get it, but I haven't seen it in a long time.

  • I think the biggest issue is how easy it is to be found as a survivor after you're injured. Your blood trail will ALWAYS lead back to you, even if scratch marks won't, and audio occlusion can sometimes be off. On maps like Lery's, it's impossible to escape a killer that wants you downed because your blood trail is universally visible.

You can pick up Iron Will to deal with your moans, but the only perk that affects bleeding is No Mither. :\

  • Hag, and then Spirit. Their ability to pop out on you is frightening, especially if you're super immersed or focused. lol

Edit: I guess I'll add The Pig, too, but it's extremely hard to actually jumpscare people due to her LOUD breathing and easy-to-spot-incoming presence.

  • I like the idea, but the competition with Technician's purpose isn't that good. However, I think Technician needs a simultaneous change, since its benefit is fairly minor as it is, and there's no reason to run it after you get the hang of skill checks.

  • Trapper spawning with 2 traps literally doubles his starting power, and I'd say that's all he needs. He doesn't really need much more than that, since his power will always vary because not every survivor plays the same. Your clever trap locations will be useless in one match and amazing in another, for example.

  • Ruin is just one of the pillars of the weak design for the match progress. The reason: It's still universally better for survivors to split up and work on multiple generators. Ruin is most effective against multiple survivors on the same generator, though.

Using Ruin doesn't make you a bad killer, but it can greatly increase the time you have as the killer to progress the match. I always use it because I dislike tunneling and camping, and the more time I have, the more I can invest into splitting hooks and punishment.

If I get saddled with a "Kill a survivor by your hands" ritual and I can't be bothered to try I will tunnel the obsessions and literally devote the game to killing them via Rancor.

I reroll these dailies because it's really crappy to be on the receiving end of an early mori.

  • I think slugging with Third Seal would be... more realistic.

Thanks for restating what Tru3 said ages ago.

To be more accurate tho,  DS is like Dead hard, it can be incredibly ######### or a life saver depending on the skill of the survivor who uses it.

DS is broken tho, I won't deny it, takes no skill to use for such a huge reward.

DS is only garbage if you miss it. Because just using it and stunning the killer is a huge boon in most areas, and the only counter a killer has against its usage is dropping the survivor off of a ledge--which also doesn't work if the survivor has Balanced Landing, or the distance is too short.

  • I don't play any of the super cancer killers, but I can also give people more of a chance if I'm in control of the match by switching targets or slugging.

However, as a survivor, I really have no motivation to stick around when it's Hillbilly and someone is downed by his first cross-country chainsaw. I usually bail or throw myself at him and suicide on the hook because that match is already a waste of time.

This was especially so during Moonrise where I could move onto the next game faster than the killer and get more points towards a coin. (This was largely a flaw with the event, though.)

There needs to be some kind of incentive for ranking and grounding yourself in matches. Even MOBAs inflict massive penalties to your ranking if you leave during the loading screen or hero selection (aka dodging), but there's also rewards for toughing it out. Though, there's a lot more opportunity to come back in those, and there's a lot less victory condition variance in them, since we have the hatch/keys.

  • Madness 3 is already cancer to deal with on its own. :\

  • Hue. I got asked out in December, but they were too young... even though everyone still thinks I'm finishing my senior year of high school...

  • You can hit over some of the fences on Haddonfield. It always blows people away when they get dunked trying to loop them too closely.

  • Heavy mind-game killer with good mobility. Ever since they changed her audio cues, she's incredibly easy to gank people with. It's not really the buff I wanted to see on her, but all well.

She's the more binary version of Hag, being able to use her mobility at will, but being unable to shut out locations as quickly or effectively. However, The Spirit's addons can be insane depending on the map and combination you get accustomed to.

Also, she's incredible for pallet baiting by just stopping and holding still. lmao Very fun killer.

  • Yeah. SWF isn't as serious as people think most of the time. lol Especially cause most of my friends are pretty average or new to the game. XD

  • Honestly, the only prediction for a game killing another major game I can see is Lost Ark killing any Diablo-clones for the West, including Path of Lagxile.

  • That doesn't make much sense. A good killer should never lose whatever survivor they're chasing, and an injured one is typically a lot easier to follow and find than a healthy one.

  • 1.) Balanced Landing (where usable)
    2.) Sprint Burst (versatile)
    3.) Lithe
    4.) Dead Hard

I wouldn't call Adrenaline an exhaustion perk, and Lithe has some issues. Depending on your perk preference, it can be better than Sprint Burst.

  • Hillbilly.

You can't design bigger maps almost entirely because of him. He has the highest mobility by far, and attached to it a built-in E-Z One Shot.

I'm not playing killer right now because they get far less coins on average than a survivor for the Moonrise event.

And besides the event? :) It was more a general question what would people get motivated to play more games as killer.

I play them somewhat equally outside of it, though I wish I could endlessly use certain addon combinations on a few killers.

    Examples:
    -6 Jigsaw box Pig
    -Full Phase Walk speed Spirit
    -XXXtra dark traps Trapper

That's because besides Nurse and maybe Billy, the killers are in general too weak to be played without add-ons. Some killers are so weak that you would need strong add-ons as base kit, to be fair.

(And aren't Trapper's tar bottles still bugged? I thought the devs haven't fixed them yet.)

I don't think addons are required so much as perks are. I get along just fine on Pig, Hag, Huntress, and Spirit with crappy addons. Nurse, Freddy, and Myers are some of the few that need them more than not, though.

  • Don't use Stridor on The Spirit. It doesn't interact well/properly with Phase Walk and positional accuracy.

Ruin on every killer, but for her I use Monitor & Abuse, A Nurse's Calling, and whatever else I'm feeling. Sloppy Butcher is good, or any other kind of tracking or time wasting perk.

I think this is what should happen to Fire Up.

You should be able to get tokens for hooks, not for completed generators.

    You can get 5 tokens.

Each token will give you 4% increase for pick up, drop, pallet break, generator damage and vaults.

I think that in this way, the perk can become viable enough. Getting tokens for completed generators will always be bad no matter what.

The killer will get good bonuses if they can perform well.

Turning into a snowball perk is a bad idea. At best, you should be able to get your token bonuses sooner, such as reducing it to 3 tokens.

  • I think Hillbilly causes more issues than Nurse, but the problem is that there is no counterplay to a top end Nurse at all.

Not trying to brag but honestly it's a total joke to 4k everytime the rank reset is near. Had nothing but 5 and 4 gens all day as killer. Getting pips should be a LOT more difficult. Your thoughts?

Everyone is prioritizing the event, so the vessels are a massive distraction.

Some slight darkness effect at the borders of the screen might be nice too

    Sight distance restrictions!

You don't get anything, and I'm busy with a no-life in other games right now.

Is this your only online game or something? This game's community isn't even in the same plane of existence as League of Legends, or anything by Blizzard.

League is NOWHERE near as toxic. Not even close. Neither is CS:GO or Dota 2 and similar.

Dead By Daylight has a whole new level of toxicity. Deathwishes, wishing someones kids / wife to get cancer, getting raped to death ect? That's just sick. And that happens AT LEAST once a week. They leave insulting comments on steam profiles and whatever other social media account is connected to it.

Wow, you didn't play LoL at all, then. Seasons 2-4 were this mid-game in every match, and then the post-game chat, and then angry whispers. And since you could naturally get re-queued with these people easily in the next few games, you dealt with it again.

There's been blogs dedicated to ######### like this, and it's a major contributing factor to the creation of the tribunal system in LoL. How did you miss that?

It's true. The player base of this game is one of the most "toxic" (aka insulting and unfriendly) I have encountered in 20+ years of online gaming.

Is this your only online game or something? This game's community isn't even in the same plane of existence as League of Legends, or anything by Blizzard.

  • DS and NOED.

Granted, removing DS kinda nerfs Rancor a little bit. However, I don't know a single killer that wouldn't throw away NOED to get rid of DS.

  • I go for 3-4K, but I try to split hooks and focus as much as the match allows me for an upper hand. Tunneling is almost universally an auto-win, sadly, as I've done it to come back and regain an advantage.

If I find the same survivor multiple times and get them to their death hook, I'll slug them and hunt someone else. They get to stay in the game and try, and I get to keep getting points while occupying two survivors (three if I find one to chase). Everyone has a better game in this situation.

Nobody likes getting tunneled off of the bat and hooked to death in the first few minutes. Tragically, once you're hooked once, you're extremely easy to find again via blood and moans, and one solid tracking perk.

  • Iron Will + Urban Evasion is your best bet for getting away, though if you can't hide your blood in grass you're screwed.

  • lol

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:
I personally think the perk is fine since it can only activate during end game and noed can counter it pretty well. But if I had to rework it, it would be like this
Adrenaline: every time a generator is completed heal ONE health state. When all generators are powered run at 150% m/s for 3/4/5 seconds. You cannot wake up or get up from the dying state. Not sure if this is a buff or a nerf but oh well I tried.

Why heal when you can just repair generators? lmao

  • Tapp, because it feels like he's 9'2" compared to the other survivors and can't hide for ######### cause of it.

  • I hate playing against him, and he doesn't interest me to play. I get that he gets smashed by SWF, and can struggle greatly against good randoms, but I don't think he's all that mechanically challenged. Some of his addons are utterly absurd to play against.

Freddy's real issue is his RNG swing. Take Pig's RNG and then amplify it by 10,000. Freddy's power is like Ruin 5000, but his RNG is massive, and some survivors can get out quickly, and other times they're locked in the dream world, spending an eternity on a generator trying to get out.

Ex: Get two instant self care heals while being chased one time, both of them occurring right before getting hit.

However, another time, I was sitting on a generator from 0-70%, CRAWLLLLLING through trying to get a skill check that never came. That was, like, 2.5 minutes of repairs, including a full Self Care heal, in which I never got a skill check to get myself out, and no one nearby to help.

He just falls into one extreme or the other where, like The Pig, the only real buff he needs is the narrowing of this band in his favor. His design is actually very strong at even punishment, and his addons further support this intent.

  • Irony: Huntress is one of the few killers that can actually down you before you escape the basement.

  • Not in the same situation, but I encountered a survivor on one of the swamp maps that left no scratch marks AT ALL for entire chases that were 30+ seconds long. She lost me every time, naturally. They magically came back later in the game and I was ultimately able to sacrifice her later, but I still reported the bug.

I didn't see any perks that could've messed with scratch marks, so I don't know what was causing it.

  • I suicide. If I get unhooked, the killer now knows where both of us are and there's a strong chance both of us won't be making it out.

If you're trying to 4K, you should be slugging the third survivor and searching for the fourth. The reason they go hatch-hunting at this point is that repairing a generator gives away your location. That's why it's never a good idea to try and keep "progressing the game" in this situation. There's literally no hope against a killer with two brain cells to rub together if you need more than one generator, and it's not on the opposite side of the map as the hatch.

  • I don't think that counts as a rescue, but... it's also still an unhooking event. It might need testing.

The Developers have addressed this. Not in the werewolf context; however, killers like Dracula, and such have been defined as “too cliché”. However, they have thought of doing a transformative killer- so this may or may not lead us in the right direction in terms of killers.

I could see them doing a Werewolf if they feel they have a good/fun idea to build it off of. I don't think they will make a werewolf just for the sake of it.
