Red stain actually helps in chases but if people think that it is a good idea to have a perk that completely removes red stain I am all for it.
Devs have to realize that when they want to improve perks, they shouldn't just think about the perk itself. There should be reasons for me as a killer or as a survivor to give up one of my perks to use the reworked perk.
Look at the buffed perks for example. Technician and surveillance are definitely better than before but not as good as adrenaline or BBQ, I still don't have any reason to give up my loadout for them.
They are afraid of the community and they are hesitant to make perks these powerful so I don't think we will see this improvement anytime soon.
-
He is not like the spirit, requires no skill and the devs can not fix him by tweaking numbers.
Sooner or later, they will realize that they need to change his core mechanics. We are still talking about Freddy rework though so I don't know when it is going to happen.

I sometimes bring a green key with no addons just to troll the killer.
You are making yourself a target though, be prepared to get tunneled to death

Honestly if I find a green key, I just drop it since I don't want to be tunneled to death. You have balls, good.
-
Ebony mories and key should just go. I think neither of them are healthy for this game.
I would argue that insta heals and certain addons should be removed as well but at this point, it is whatever. As both sides I can tolerate them.

I honestly don't think you know how to effectively slug as a strategy. One-hits aren't required, ever, and aren't even relevant to it.
At the core, the Doctor is like a different version of Legion, since you're forced to break Madness 3 before doing anything else, and the Legion forces you to Mend before anything else. The main differences are that the Doctor can pressure with Madness by proxy, and also retains full movement speed. Legion can't actively track people without following them, but the Doctor can trigger Madness 3 and an automatic scream just walking around with a massive terror radius.
I can't tell if you're trying to slug all four survivors from start to finish, but if that's what you're doing that's why it's not working.
I didn't say that you need 1 downs, most of the killers i listed doesn't even have them. Nurse, spirit, hag, huntress etc.
The reason why you have to have 1 hit down or the ability to cross the map quickly is because after getting 1 hit, survivors can almost reach the other end of the map and split up. Slugging works when survivors are together.
Nurse have great mobility and end the chases quickly and get back to the first slug easily.
Billy is the same.
Spirit is more or less the same.
Hag depends on her traps but at certain times, she can do it.
Huntress's m2 m1 combo works like insta down and she can down people relatively easy.
Myers and clown are different but they are not top tier anyway. They have snowball mechanics but definitely not as good as the killers that are listed above.
There is nothing you can do when you smack the survivor and survivor starts to run to the other end of the map. Are you going to follow him and leave your slug behind or are you gonna stay near the slug?
Madness takes something like 10 seconds and in that time frame, slug can heal himself anyway. It might help but definitely not a great tool by any means.
If doc is good for slugging, then any other killer is good for slugging which is not true. Doc has almost no special ability that can help him when he slugs.
I honestly don't want to continue this debate. I agree to disagree with both of you since I think there is no reason to continue this debate. We have made our minds up and I don't think we will change our minds. I prefer to not waste my time.

@White_Owl said:
What? He can't slug? He is probably the best slugger out there, since he has free Deerstalker and can prevent survivors from healing. Come on, at least try to know what you're talking about.
OMG okay then lets get started. For the love of God, before telling somebody to know what he is talking about, understand the game mechanics.
The best sluggers out there are Nurse, spirit, billy, huntress, hag, Myers and clown with that pink addon. Do you see a similarity between them?
All of them have either 1 downs like billy myers and the clown with the addon, or has the ability to cross the map quickly like billy, nurse and hag, or end the chases very quickly. Please notice that these are also the features of viable high tier or close to high tier killers.
Doc doesn't have any of these abilities, just because he has built in deerstalker or prevent survivors from healing doesn't make him a slugger. Freddy's slugging ability came from a couple of other factors when he was released so you can't compare them with each other as well.
Slugging doesn't work if you get your downs in 40-50 seconds. You should be able to get them relatively easily and if the survivors are good they won't give you a chance to do that with the doc.
Again I am gonna repeat what I said before. Doc is a good killer if the survivors are useless, against good survivors, maybe he can get 1k.
-
@Eninya said:
You're playing wrong, or slugging wrong if you think he can't do this. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I've been slugging almost any DS user I play against to bleeding to death. I don't even bother hooking them unless I've already secured the 4K and can hook them with no risk of a hatch escape.
Madness alone is effectively several perks in one.
You imply that I am a terrible player but when I say slug, you only understand slugging DS. Which killer can't slug DS?
Well I agree to disagree then. Nothing valuable to discuss here.
-
Only terrible survivors who try to go hide whenever they hear a heartbeat think that doc is a good killer since they can't hide from him.
Doc is a terrible killer and against good survivors, he gets obliterated. No map pressure, can't slug, no 1 hit down, maybe he can get hits if he can use his power correctly and for games that last 3-5 minutes, it is not enough.
Yeah he is a great killer when survivors are useless and crouch at the edges of the map.
-
We don't know yet but I have heard it somewhere that they want at least 18 killers in the game.
-
@Poweas said:
Nope he'd be top of mid tier but I wanted to give him a better rating. Myers is an extremely strong killer if played correctly. I considered putting him in mid tier but he certainly has top tier.
Doc is unreliable and against a simple loop, he's quite powerless. He can just delay the game. He's really weak compared to Myers.
Myers really only has to deal with 1 or 2 loops before he instadowns but Doc gets looped so hard and most the time, nobody even drops a pallet against him.
I mean I can't question your opinion but doc is way better against loops than Myers.
Myers is a terrible killer if the survivors are good since he literally has 0 tools against loops. Sure he has 1 down and he can slug but against experienced survivors, he will be bullied hard.
I would still place him above doc but he is no way a top tier killer. Your huntress placement is, imo, very wrong too. She should have been a top tier killer.
-
Even old spies from the shadows were somewhat good on certain maps. The problem is not with the perk itself, the problem is with crow placement.
The idea behind crows are great but execution is terrible, they need to relocate crows in order for them to be useful.

Still a secret at this point!

I assume you can get 3/9 for free, but I would be positively surprised if we can get all for free if you play enough. The thing is, behaviour has to make money tho (which is completely fine)
I honestly wouldn't make all of them free as a business practicer. They put much more effort into the cosmetics and I am fine with it. It is better than 2 piece bad cosmetics like they used to do imo.
-
You are comparing oranges with apples.
Lagswitch is bannable.
Laggy survivors are OK.
Laggy killers are OK.
Lag spikes from both sides are OK.
The last 3 is not desirable but they are a part of the multiplayer games. The problem starts when people do it intentionally.

SWF is never gonna get nerfed ever, period.
I am so sorry to say this but you can not punish people for playing together with their friends.
A basic nerf like not being able to see the killers' loadout came after 3 years.
They Will Not Nerf SWF.
-
I honestly didn't like the change and I play survivor majority of the time. I don't care about the basement and it wastes like 10 to 20 seconds and if I am not gonna use the basement it is just wasted time for me. I like the fact that both as a killer and survivor that hook is not gonna screw me but they could place it somewhere near the basement.
-
Self care is meta but definitely not a really good perk if you ask me.
Especially killer mains will disagree with me and I can see why but just look at the survivors who are good at the game and see how many of them use self care. Good survivor streamers like zubat, jen pug etc. don't even touch self care. I specifically control my good teammates what their loadout is and 60%-80% of them don't have self care.
I think self care is the same with hex ruin. Not necessarily a great perk but I think their users think that they need that perk over any other (I, for one, need ruin for my killers)
I think that for good survivors best loadout is adrenaline, dead hard or balanced landing, decisive strike and hope.
Edit, also I noticed the shitpost but I am just trying to make a point LUL
-
Billy is the most balanced killer out there and he is the example for any balanced killer. Only bad survivors who do a lot of mistakes whine about him.
You can loop him like any other killer, he is susceptible to being looped but in turn, if you make a mistake, he can punish it really hard.
A lot of people think that billy is really good and the second best killer out there but against good survivors tier list changes dramatically. I would say nurse, spirit, hag, huntress, hell even clown has more chance to get downs against good loopers who also genrush than billy.
Don't do a lot of mistakes, you are good to go against billies.
-
I think what they need to do is to increase Box numbers to 6 and instead of this RNG thingy, they should require us to search 4 of them. So instead of finding the right box in like 10 seconds, survivors will have to waste real time but in turn, Pig will not be able to camp her boxes and prevent survivors getting their RBTs off of them.
In that way, Pig's power will give her about 60 seconds with each RBT that she uses on survivors. It is not gonna make her top tier but I can easily say that it is gonna move her up in the tier list.

When they were more frequent, people were complaining that the devs were answering "irrelevant questions" and "wasting time". When the devs skipped irrelevant questions, people were complaining that they were skipping "questions they don't want to answer". Now that Q&A streams/videos are few and far between and balance, etc., streams/videos are more plentiful, we get complaints like yours, that they don't do enough Q&A.
It's catch-22, plain and simple.
Yeah this community is hard to please and I feel like the Devs are becoming more and more hesitant to do things because whenever they do something, people lose their ######### and this harms the development of the game more than anything. The community needs to give up this over critical attitude.
-
Am I the only one who thinks that leader was a very meaningless perk?
Thanatophobia is the perk that turns bars red, and leader is the perk that turns them yellow. I never understood why people use that perk in the first place.
-
I am pretty sure you meant discordance since distortion is a survivor perk.
I personally didn't use discordance but if it is working in the way you describe, I can see it being a problem. Unfortunately, I don't see devs looking into this perk anytime soon so you might need to wait a little bit. I wish some things were faster.
-
It doesn't matter. They might care about what community thinks behind doors but on stream, they almost ignore every single complaint and talk down to us.
I hope they change their attitude towards community on stream. I just can't blame them though, judging the community's reaction to anything.
-
I mean it is not that big of a change but out of all these perks, do they really paid attention to this perk? Really?
There are far worse useless perks to improve imo. This was not even a buff but it is another matter.
-

OK, is it just me, or is the solution VERY simple here?Just change the condition from 'gain token on unhook' to 'gain token on safe unhook.' Then, increase rate of return and/or number of actions that can give tokens if needed. @Dehitay and @Trial_By_Scythe have the right idea.
I agree with you.
Instead of gaining 1 token from unhooks, survivors should gain 2 tokens only from one safe unhook. Heck, it might even incentives survivors to use borrowed time along with WGLF.
I also think that healing actions should give you tokens. It is difficult to get tokens anyway due to too many varying conditions.

You probably play on console but the old rank system required skills so stop lying you couldn’t get to rank 1 without perks.
I am not gonna get into arguments but I really tried perkless survivor to reach rank 1 and get more than 20k points. It is possible, just not fun. Perks bring variety to the game and make it more fun but you don't necessarily require them to be good. Looping and gen rushing is all you need to be a good survivor.
-
I actually love the idea but I don't think it is gonna get implemented unfortunately.

You can't escape through the hatch unless you have a key and keys are rare.

There is not a single perk that is worse than DS in the entire game.
That single use is more than enough btw.Usually one only talks about balance when "somehow competent" players are playing the game because it would be absurd to balance a game around a beginner.......
Also Id like to point out that moris can only be used once too on a surivor and reduce a life

I 100% agree.
If somebody can't get kills with ebony mori, omegablink nurse, it is on them. We can't pretend like that combination is the most balanced thing in the entire game.
Game should be balanced around somewhat competent players, not the top ones but I would say above average is good enough. If a survivor is above average and uses DS, good luck to you, you will need it.
It is so difficult for some people to grasp the reality.

So yes. I'm very much right in my logical thinking. Try it.
This game isn't called "Survive by Daylight". The premise is trying to stay alive and it being difficult to do it.
I couldn't care less what the game's name is.
Your logic would not change if the game was called alive by daylight, lets face it.
This is a multiplayer game and if you want to win, I want to win too.
It is either, killers are not entitled to get kills, survivors are not entitled to get escapes or killers are entitled to get kills, survivors are entitled to get escapes.
You want to get kills? Git gud.

I think all of these discussions are pointless, they are not gonna go with that buff.
I am gonna be surprised if they go with the self care buff too. After all these threads they are gonna play safe.
-
Killers are entitled to kill. Survivors aren't entitled to survive.
lol
-
I honestly don't understand this ruckus. It is not game changing or anything but it filled the entire forum with posts and threads.
Devs are too hesitant to go with the changes because they don't want to offend anybody. I think they should go with the change and if affects the survival rates too badly, they can always revert it back.
-
No, I don't like the changes.
Right now, the most important problem with the legion is the lack of skill from both sides. As a survivor, you just take it into your ass and hope that your teammates are genrushing him. As a killer, you just use your power and ignore, stealth, missed attack cooldown, pallets, windows etc.
He needs a rework and be more like clown and spirit, if possible, close to spirit. He should require skill but the opposite side should have a saying. Even if the survivors feel weak like they are against nurse or spirit, they should not just take it into their asses and be done with the game.
I want viable and fun killers and this is not the path to create a viable and a fun killer. I hope the devs see this too and start to work on him.
-
The perk finally seems cool but honestly, all the perks out there, I don't think that this perk will shake the meta.
Billy has strong combos like BBQ, ruin, enduring and spirit fury. Which one will he stop using?
I think this is one of the most problematic thing in today's gaming industry. There are good strong choices but those good strong choices can't beat the best strongest ones.
Still fun to use though.

@MPGamer18 said:
You got that backwards … people who play in groups are bad at the game. That's why they group together. Their strength is in their numbers, not their skill. It's why they ALWAYS disconnect then they are given a taste of their own medicine. They are the reason killers camp. I wasn't singling out you, but clearly I hit a nerve. Solo players are much better then SWF players.
Dude I am not gonna get into this SWF arguments etc. but the reason why people group up together is not because they are bad at the game but want to have fun time with their friends.
Some people have friends and play multiplayer games to spend their time with their friends. At best estimation less than 10% swf groups are swf because they want to win the game. The sole reason for the rest of the 90% people who play SWF is to spend time with their friends while playing their favorite game.
When are we going to stop this lack of skill=SWF argument. It doesn't make sense.
-
I am really curious devs' thought process about Iron maiden. I mean it is not the end of the world and it is not gonna make a huge difference but just why? There are perks like monstrous shrine, why Iron maiden?
-
Combat strap addon change was 'universally' wanted. If you read posts, you can see that every single pig main wanted them as baseline. We didn't get it but I would call it pretty close.
Enough? No but it shows that they are listening to community.
-
4 meter will hardly make 1 second difference in terms of movement.
Fading out is not way slower. Changed the Terror Radius fade time for when crouching / uncrouching to fade in ~4 seconds, down from 6.6 seconds. They made it quicker, like 2.6 seconds. We can discuss whether this change will make the pig 'top tier' or not but it is definitely not a nerf. I don't even think that they nerfed her terror radius, they made it more consistent with other killers. If this is so much of a big change they can revert it all they want but I honestly believe it is not even gonna make a difference.
The most important and imo the only important change for pig is base combat strap addon, somewhat. I wish they just removed the addon and made it baseline but 1.3 second instead of 2 second is still a good change.
Also, boxes changed as well, now they are not crowded, possibly longer search times due to locations. It is not a buff or a nerf since the pigs will not be able to protect very close 3 boxes anymore. In turn, survivors will have to travel more and waste more time.
All in all, good start, not enough imo.

You are right about the bloodpoint part.
I always play solo and honestly, I don't ever expect this level of coordination from solo survivors. It would be a cool buff for swf but it would hardly make a difference for the solo survivors.
