  • I would rather have like 50% of the traps on the map spawn in the open state. Then there is always the chance a survivor steps in one, and probably a higher than normal chance since it would be in a weird spot you wouldn't expect. It'd make the early game a lot scarier. And no need to rework his bags again.

He should also be able to set a trap that's on the ground without picking it up first. If you don't have iri stone (which is most of the time) then you can save those few precious seconds resetting a good trap.

If it's forest or ward you will be chasing me for the full 2 minutes guaranteed.

Nurse would like a word with you.

No I will still outrun you. The extra speed let's me juke your lethal blinks rather easy actually. Though if anyone could catch me it would be her.

  • You do that, I'll just juke your 90% movement speed and go to a different box.

If you want head pops run Tampered Timer and Jigsaw's Plan (purple). 5 boxes in 2 minutes is only JUST barely possible if you optimize your path and don't get chased. Or use Amanda's Letter and Last Will, take note when they go to a box and if it's not it body block the other one.

  • If you are on Xbox I know who you are talking about. I've played him a few times, though he is a cool dude he tunnels the crap outta my Jake. When I asked him why he told me because he needs Jake's face.

  • Believe it or not, Stridor beats corn. I use it on Nurse and I can snipe you with a blink just by sound. Huntress too, but I stopped using it on Huntress because other perks are more valuable on her. Still can snipe you, and everyone says it's terrifying to run through corn not hear the TR only the lullaby and have hatchets whizzing past them like I have wall hacks (corn hacks?) or something.

But the topic here isn't Coldwind, it's Thompson House specifically the hook that was added upstairs.

  • Even better, just have it so the survivor can hold the button to channel death. Kinda like doing a struggle attempt. Why we have to do anything to stay alive is beyond me.

  • Cool ideas but Gremlins are not really horror. It's more of a comedy, especially the sequel. That vegetable gremlin man.

Environment does not react to her phasing, which means that grass and other things don't move while she is walking on them using her power. You can't say if she is coming or not at all if she is using that addon. She can come to you and grab you wherever she wants, and you can do literally nothing about it. Unless you are an extrasensory.

This is absolutely incorrect. The environment entirely does react with her during phasing. You can see grass and everything. Also on top of this you can simply run Premonition or Spine Chill to know she is coming. Iron Will also just counters her in general.

Iron Will counters all the slow killers IMO.

  • You should also be able to do it if the Xbox you are playing on is the home console for the account that owns the content.

@Carpemortum Just because you choose not to run all meta perks doesn't mean that SWF is balanced. And if that's your group, then the limitation wouldn't affect you anyway since you'd be doing the same thing.

The power in SWF comes from stacking your advantages. Take that away and SWF would be more balanced. You defending it just says to me that you don't want to lose that ability to stack advantages. I main survivor and I'd be totally fine with limits when I'm in a group.

The power in getting better is taking challenges that push you wether you succeed or not. I play with one other person usually, or killer. Dont assume anything about me.

If you want a challenge then you should be fine with limiting yourself when in a group. Otherwise there is no challenge.

  • @Carpemortum Just because you choose not to run all meta perks doesn't mean that SWF is balanced. And if that's your group, then the limitation wouldn't affect you anyway since you'd be doing the same thing.

  • It's because of notifications. If the killer runs something like Sloppy Butcher when they hit you the game drops frames like crazy to give you the notification. It never used to be a thing until they patched the game to spam notifications about every little thing that happens.

  • You start healing then press "secondary action" button. For me on Xbox, I press LB to use the medkit then A to use the insta-heal.

But I think what the OP is talking about is Adren. Not insta-heals.

Swf should be doing team builds? Isn't that one of the biggest complaints? That swf is too coordinated? What happens if people just want to play together, and now one cant run his perks bc a rando has it or his friend just got it and wants to run it as well. Dark sense, leader, urban evasion, sprint. Not even just ds and self care.

Dude the team build thing only applies to SWF. If I have a group of 3, none of us can use the same perks as the other. The random in the group has no limits. They can do whatever they want.

SWF is coordinated, and when you let the entire team run SC/DS/Adren with comms that's the game breaking part. If you want to play in a group then you will get a MINOR handicap to offset the fact you can communicate (or at the very least go into the game with predetermined tactics and such). Team build forces groups to play off meta, and thus they can't abuse the most powerful stuff in the game.

Would you rather play Seal Team 6 where each member has the absolute best gear, or would you rather play Seal Team 6 where they have to share the best gear with no overlaps?

  • I had an hour long game against a Spirit that outright refused to kill a guy because she wanted the 4k. I was injured (no SC and no medkit, all the chests were opened) and we need to do 2 more gens. I knew where hatch was, which was on the opposite side of the map from the other survivor. She would down him, camp the body, then get impatient and pick-up/drop them until they broke free. Then she would chase them for a bit and down them again. She did this OVER 10 TIMES!!!! What utter bull #########.

The guy messaged me (Xbox) and said "do gens" which I replied "I can't bc I'm injured and I also only know where 1 gen is" (it was on Lery's and the only gen I knew about was in treatment center which was basically suicide). Eventually I found another gen in a corner somewhere, so I told him to just keep her away from this side of the map. I did that gen, she continued to do her BS. At some point she let the guy go completely, and he healed then found me and healed me. We split up and I found another gen (he went to TC to do that gen). She found him obviously, but he was maybe 15 seconds from bleeding out. He did the gen in her face, and she finally decided to hook him. I dodged her BBQ making her think I went to the gate and took hatch.

The really sad part is that this killer would have easily double pipped if she just killed the guy when she caught him that first time. She got a hook on me already, and there were 2 gens left. She basically held the game hostage for no reason other than to satisfy her ego, and at the end of ALL that BS she still didn't kill me (a typical outcome to these sorts of games). I told the guy thank you for taking the death and I owe him one if I see him again in the future. I woulda been fine to trade places with him if necessary, but that's not how things went down. He was cool about it and just wanted 1 of us to escape, so we at least accomplished that.

Killers that do this are literal cancer to the game. If she wants to slug the guy and come look for me, fine, but don't expect me to be a moron and come heal the guy when it's obvious you are camping him. Man up and leave, take the chance I save him if you want the 4k. Or kill him and take your 2 pip so the game can end. Don't be a spoiled brat.

  • Technically, we already have something like this in the game in the form of the Glass Bead for maps. While not explicitly giving messages, it can be used for that purpose.

I do like the idea of adding another item to the game though. Stuff like Firecrackers should be available as purple items I think.

Not sure if you guys know from the Legion changes but it appears BHVR does not care what we want to happen with the game. Otherwise they would have done the changes we asked for then went from there.

Because all the changes people asked for were reasonable and would not make the killer totally broken at all.

    sigh

Literally everyone that complained about Legion would make an awful game designer.

  • They said that, then backpedaled on the idea of making Kindred part of the base kit. Probably because it is too powerful as I point out. Same reason they backpedaled on closing hatch.

Buffing solo players just makes the game worse not better. Solo play is balanced right now, it's SWF that is broken.

  • Hell no to Kindred being a base kit. Besides the fact it makes SWF even easier, bringing solos up to SWF is not the way to balance the game. What we need is limitations placed on SWF groups, something like only allowing 1 instance of a perk among the group. SWF's should be doing team builds anyway, letting everyone in the group run the top meta perks is what is so gamebreaking about it.

A better solution would be to have the hooked survivors aura pulsate like a heartbeat if the killer is within 8m OR the survivor on the hook is in the killer TR. That doesn't give away too much information other than "killer is close to the hook". If the pulse nevers goes away then you can be sure the killer is camping. And it doesn't turn a group of solo's into an SWF that can play super optimal because they can see everyone in the game.

  • Or just have some prerequisite for NOED proc that isn't just "all gens are done, here ya go!". Should be required to get 3 fresh hooks over the course of the trial BEFORE the gates power. Then you have to actually earn your one shot like every other thing that inflicts Exposed. You also can do this BS with Ruin/NOED combo where you just camp the first guy you catch and force a gen rush, then get a second with NOED.

No because you still have a massive distance from the hook to the top of the steps, and killer would still have an advantage chasing you down the stairs even if you have BL. If there was a hole in the floor upstairs you now have 2 exits, and the killer can use that exit to save time carrying to a hook.

    BL? Boys Love?

But you're right. Killer would have an advantage against a survivor if the game was asymmetrical like that. Definitely needs to be an extra exit for the generator that isn't needed to be done, but done mainly cause survivors are so used to it being so safe and now that it's dangerous, refuse to compensate. While we're at it, let's add a teleporter in the basement that transports you to an unused pallet since basement is also too dangerous for survivors.

    Uh... Balanced Landing....

Also stop being facetious. The problem was that survivors would go upstairs and if the basement wasn't in the house it was impossible to hook them. Adding a hook upstairs was unnecessary and just swings the broken factor to killer side. A hole in the floor solves the problem without breaking the game in another way. There is a difference between it being a dangerous spot to go and completely broken.

Gotta love killers mains. If you can't 4k then the game obviously favors survivors. SMH

It sounds like it's super powerful for Trapper but no one else can do this except for Hag. Did you know that in Haddonfield that there are rooftops only accessible through windows? Perfect place for traps :)

    I think this should stay

Agreed. This is one of Trapper's strengths, defense. It is like Trapper's basement with blocking the exit, except you only need 1 trap.

I don't mind if it's strong for a killer, but this is completely broken. It was impossible to make saves without killing yourself in the process, even when we worked together to do it. Basement at least has wide enough steps that you can usually step around the traps, and the distance from the top of the steps to the front hook is short enough that you can run in, make a save, and run out if the killer isn't with TR.

But we have gone from broken for survivor to broken for killer. Again why not just put a hole in the floor so that you could pick up a survivor and drop down, bypassing 8 seconds of walking around up top. Killer doesn't get 2 basements, and survivors can't BS the killer by going to a place where they could never get hooked.

  • @HatCreature said:

    I think this should stay

The difference there is that you don't HAVE TO go out onto those ledges.

Also while Trapper is definitely the strongest, that hook is basically a second basement. Killers like Huntress can bodyblock the steps and with the way the steps are arranged, if she hits you there is no gaining enough distance to not get hit almost immediately again.

  • What MS should do is for every survivor you have hooked in the basement, apply something like a 10% penalty to repairs of all other survivors. Then when you get someone down there it forces the others to make the save so they can keep doing gens.

  • If you want to stealth rush gens do No Mither, Resil, Spine Chill, Leader. When SC procs you leave that gen and find another. Walk away, don't run. And have a good idea at least what direction the killer is coming. Always have an escape plan if they find you.

  • I'd rate the average survivor as a french fry on the raw-potato-to-twice-baked-loaded-potato scale.

  • I'm not a fan of completely changing the design of a perk. Most of the perks on your list are fine as they are they just need some minor buffs or QOL changes. Only the bottom of the barrel perks need to be reworked (eg. Spies, Surveillance, Monstrous Shrine).

Also, we have plenty of status effects, we really don't need more at this point. The only status effect I want is "Inefficient" which is basically a Mangled effect on repairs. This could go on Thanatophobia since that's kinda what it does anyway.

I do like your idea for Sole Survivor but that's honestly it.

  • AFAIK updating to Unreal 4.2 or whatever it is should optimize the game quite a bit.

  • DS is only OP in that more than 1 survivor can use it. If you eat 1 DS that can hurt you pretty bad as killer depending on when and how it happens (and whether or not you are in a position to counter it). Eating 2 or more DS's will likely be a loss for killer. Especially considering those non-obsession DS's hit you without much warning and can REALLY screw you because you weren't expecting it. And even if you did, the extra time loss is massive.

Only obsession should be able to use DS. If you want to use your DS put on other obsession perks to be sure you are an obsession.

Both DS and NOED are fine.
Yes, it's difficult to cleanse and repair 5 totems/gens when someone is being camped, but i'm pretty sure you won't depip.

No you will definitely depip. Let's do some math here...

Letting a guy die on a hook automatically drops your Benevolence to 0, so you get no points there.

If you are lucky to not be the second or third caught and escape you can get an iri Unbroken, so 4 points.

You never got chased. 0 Chaser. Maybe if you stayed close to the killer while they camped you can get a bronze. Let's be generous and say 1 point.

That's 5 points. You need 4 points in Lightbringer to pip, which is iridescent. That means you need to do 3 full gens solo which won't happen. The best you could hope for there is 2 solo, but that's 160 seconds which means the first guy is dead and someone else is on the hook. Again let's be generous and say you get those 2 gens, that's gold. 3 points.

We are now at 8 points. That's a safety pip. Literally the best you can hope for in these games.

Again it is mathematically impossible to do 5 gens and 5 totems before the first guy dies. If you even do 1 totem (Ruin) that would often enough to bork the gens and not finish them all before another person gets caught. Once that second person is caught, the only way you can escape is hatch, and only if the other guy gets caught.

I'd like to see you go into a game against a camper using Ruin/NOED combo and do all 5 gens and 5 totems and only the first guy dies. Yea MAYBE it's possible if the killer is awful and you can hide most of the game but against any sort of competent killer, 3 of you will die if you stop gens to do totems. And if you rush gens, at least 2 of you will die (first one camped at start of the trial, second one gets hit with NOED and camped).

  • Hope is really underrated. It soft counters NOED and destroys slows killers. With Balanced Landing you can infinite killers at some spots too.

I also think Huntress's haft add-ons are underrated. Most people go with pink hatchets or Babushka, but having less cooldown can make a HUGE difference. You can double tap survivors with a hatchet then using your main attack. It also let's you start up the next shot right away.

    @redsopine01 said:
Dude that's a meta rn on console

    Urban is meta, period.

  • I didn't prestige any of my killers except Spirit because I really like the bloody skin on her, and Kate just to show that I'm not a baby survivor. Also p2'd my Jake, who I played up until Kate came out. Honestly have not seen much of a difference.

  • @NoIdeaForNickname said:
And sometimes it won't proc because of cooldown. Also here is pic of every rank.

Good point, however I find that more often than not it's better for it to be longer than shorter. If you are mid-chase when someone saves you probably won't be able to get the MYC guy even with tier 3, but putting Exposed on a survivor makes them play immersed. Meaning that guy probably won't do gens or make risky saves for 60 seconds, which sometimes has more value to you than a one shot.

  • Use BBQ on killer or WGLF on survivor. Focus on getting all your stacks. Fiddle around and get more BP anywhere else you can before the end of the game.

If you are talking about going through the blood web, once you get to 30 IIRC is when it's the full web. Normally you want to buy 4 things before you take a perk, but if you just go straight for the perk it makes the Entity show up faster and it actually saves you BP. Then just buy all the white stuff first, then yellow, etc until the next web. Cheapest way to level up fast. Though I recommend playing as that killer/survivor for a bit once you get to 50 just because you will likely have a few party streamers, mori's, and other goodies you can use to get more BP.

  • Killers can already dodge/harass players just by the name, and if you let survivors see the killer some killers would just always get dodged which is lame.

A better idea would be to hide the names of survivors until the end of the trial. They they can't explicitly target you because they don't know it's you.

  • @Vietfox Killers run Ruin and NOED. Camps the first person. There is literally no way that you can do 5 gens and 5 totems before they die, and once they do you're chances of finishes gens goes down the drain. You either gen rush and proc NOED, or you don't do gens and look for totems. Either way the killer walks away with at minimum a 2k, likely 3k/4k because of the circumstances. Don't sit there and tell me you can either because the math says it's impossible. And like people keep saying, if you are solo you don't have a way to know how many totems are done. It's the absolute most braindead, easiest and cheesiest way to play killer.

  • DS should only be for the obsession. Having more than 1 in a group just increases the skill check size by X%. If you want to use DS equip other obsession perks to make yourself the obsession.

NOED should require something from the killer before endgame. Something like 3 fresh hooks.

  • Eh... doesn't hurt. Sometimes you teleport back and there are 3 survivors there (the guy that was hook plus 2). If you pick the wrong one and want to go find the right one well at tier 3 you have more time.

  • You don't know how to No Mither.

The real power in NM is that you can play to die, where a normal or obsession survivor plays to escape. It sounds contradictory, but the idea is that you can screw up the killer's game WAY more than any obsession ever could because you can get in the way and force them to waste time hooking/killing you. You need to combo it with Resil and BT for maximum effect, but since you can't be slugged you can take hits at key moments and save everyone on your team. Basically you force the killer to tunnel you, and they get almost no emblem points for you. If you do it right, you will die and still pip (because Resil you can rush gens/hooks/heals/totems/gates) and the killer gets 0 hooks on everyone else, DS is still in play, and all the god pallets are still up at the end of the game. Some examples of what I'm talking about.

Example 1; Face camping LF? Just rush the hook and make the save. Even with add-ons his chainsaw startup isn't fast enough to stop you (Resil makes you unhook faster), and with BT the guy you save will get away while you go down. The killer is then put in a conundrum... hook you and the BT guy gets away, or chase the BT guy and you get up. Case and point... https://xboxclips.com/thesuicidefox/46d027be-a193-4259-9c26-b43c4d8c5744 That was the 4th time I did this to this guy. He was camping and I just ran in screaming "######### YO COUCH" and saved right in front of him. He slugged me once so I was able to do it again. And even though I died I still pipped, and my team popped both of the last gens shortly after and escaped. He got me, the guy worth almost nothing, and everyone else got away. GG camper.

Example 2; Billy hooks your friend clear across the map, your 2 other friends are on the last gen about to finish. He goes sprinting across the map but OOPS sorry. NM guy just kinda stepped out in front of you, sorry, did you wanna stop them on that gen? Well better hook me or I get up. You waste time either way.

Example 3; Obsession is being chased. They are injured. They run through a pallet and will DEFINITELY get hit. But OOPS I'm there again and you hit me Mr Killer. There goes the obsession, off into the fog, you spent like 2 minutes trying to get him dang. Well if you wanna chase him EVEN MORE you can but I get up. If you take my hook he definitely gets away. If you do this kind of stuff at the right moment, when a killer REALLY wants someone else, they will get flustered and slug you to keep chasing. But it's too late, obsession is long gone and now you can't find me because I don't cry in dying or leave blood. I get up, no hooks for you.

Example 4; Oh hey that's a nice totem there. I see you found the guy that spawned near it, well while you're chasing him around the totem I'll just hop on it. Better pay attention to me because with Resil I will eat this super fast. And no I won't flinch if you are 10m away, your ass has to come over and grab me. I will MAKE YOU HOOK ME, and guess what the other guy is on your totem while you do. No matter what you do, your totem is gone.

EDIT: Example 5; EW3 Myers chasing someone? Jump out and sponge that #########! Wasted your one shot on the guy that's already one shot. Killer running MYC? WHO CARES! I'll save anyway and still do a gen in your face. NOED, pinky finger, pink hatchets? GTFO bro don't phase me. You become an Exposed sponge that's just eats through the killers best stuff. I've gone so far as to sponge a tombstone when Myers barely got any EW from me. Have fun getting to tier 3 again.

Again, to a normal survivor all this sounds crazy, but to NM guy if you play like you don't care if you die you can seriously hurt the killer. And most killers don't know how to react to that because it's so different, when they get flustered they slug you and you get to keep doing whatever BS you want.

Normie survivors have tiny survivor balls. Obsessions have big survivor balls that fall off after they use DS. NM guy has big heavy metal survivor balls, that make a nice clang sounds when you smack them in the killer's face.

  • Good effort though you left out a few things.

Dying Light is amazing on Freddy because he is the only killer with not 1 but 2 ways to find the obsession super fast (Black Box and Class Photo) and therefore he can easily hunt them down and get it to proc much faster and easier than any other killer. Plus once you do get it to proc, the game basically stops for survivors. It takes over 100 seconds to do a gen while awake, and if they are asleep it would take them something like 5 minutes to do a gen solo. They literally get no progress, and when they wake up the gen will likely regress below where they started. He's also the only killer that can tunnel in such a way that other survivors can't really stop you. If they are awake they can't body block and it's 1000 times harder to blind you when they can see you.

You also seriously underrate Rancor on him, since he is immune to the aura reading if the obsession is awake. You get a baby Bitter Mumur with a mori at end game, and if you play it right the obsession would have no idea they have Rancor on them.

Stridor is also pretty valuable since it can make normal breathing louder. I use this perk on Spirit to listen for injured survivors while phase walking, and on Nurse because it let's you track them by sound through corn/fog and during fatigue. Also since she can teleport through objects, if you hear someone crying in pain inside a building you can get them. If you have a good headset with 5.1 surround then it's very easy to pinpoint their location, and unlike an aura you can't hide your whimpers (even with Iron Will, Stridor trumps it). But I digress, as on Freddy the value is in the tier 3's power to make normal breathing louder. That means that the invisible Claud hiding in a dark corner that you couldn't see even if you were right on top of them is no longer invisible. Arguably not incredibly valuable, but if you have trouble finding awake survivors it can definitely help.

IMO his best add-on combos are stacked blocks, Green Dress + Wool Shirt (not Blue Dress since it only reduces the chance moderately, Green Dress is considerably), and stacked drawings (green + yellow let's you tag someone at 30m which is outside of your TR, run Nurse's Calling and you will see them and sleep them before they hear a lullaby, also super brutal in corn). Class Photo is definitively his best add-on, and IMO top 5 best add-ons in the game (after Mint Rag, Prayer Beads, Fragile Wheeze, and Fragrant Tuft of Hair). If you use this add-on there is no hiding from Freddy. He WILL find you.

  • Blood Warden is great for Pig. Just save 1 trap for end game and you can always get it to proc.

  • @akbays35 I think they put it in the patch notes for completion sake, since Wake Up is similar to Mend and Snap Out being a special action you have to do. They weren't saying it was changed, it's just in that group of actions.

Regardless it doesn't make much of a difference for him. If they are asleep you see their aura anyway, and you can hear them wake up from a good distance.

  • IMO Lullaby should be based on a timer not hooks. So the longer you leave the totem, the less time you have between the sound and the skill check. TBH, the delayed sounds isn't an issue you can adjust to it rather easily. But if it was a constantly varying effect it would be harder to adjust.

  • I hate when Billy's use NOED. It's like you have a built in one shot why do you need this?

  • @akbays35 said:

Wake Up was never considered a healing action so Freddy is unchanged. I run NC on him all the time and I've never see people waking up with it.

it was actually, if you had nurses you'd see both survivors in the during the wake up process, this would enable to you catch 2 survivors and put them to sleep.

Do you have a video of this? Like I said I use Nurse's on Freddy all the time and have NEVER seen someone waking up with it. I can explicitly remember instances where I could even hear them waking up near me and could not see them. It was never a thing.

  • It's kinda meta but my build is Iron Will, Bond, Balanced Landing, then either Self Care (if I'm solo) or Hope/Adren (if I'm SWF). I like Hope more than Adren because it counters NOED's speed boost and with BL let's you infinite the killer at some spots (well infinite for 2 minutes until Hope runs out). It also completely destroys slow killers. Adren is arguably more powerful but only if you are the one being chased at the end of the game. If you aren't being chased when the gates power I feel like it's almost a waste of a perk slot as much as if you never got to end game in the first place.

  • If you have Wake Up, Spine Chill, Resil, and Prove Thyself, and you have 3 survivors around you with Leader and the killer is looking at you the fastest you can possibly open the gate is 12 seconds.
