Let's Buff Huntress' Lullaby, by nerfing it.

I love Huntress' Lullaby. And I run it in most games that i take serious.

The problem with the perk though. is that it progressively gets stronger, until it gets weaker. Once you have 2-4 stacks on it, it messes with survivors muscle reflexes. They've trained themselves how to react to a skillchecks, and this messes with it. But then you hit 5 stacks, and that goes away. The warning they are reacting to is gone, and now they just need to watch the screen.

So i suggest removing the 5th stack from HL.

Or, if you wanted to be fancy and buff it. Make the 5th stack randomize skillcheck warning timings in the 3-4 stack range.

  • We should nerf that perk and make it a non-hex perk.

That perk right now feels like the ######### sibling of ruin.

I use it with Ruin, to rather good effect. But like I said, skilled survivors don't mind it so much at 5 stacks, and tend to stop failing skillchecks then.

I like that, but where's the balance? How can the Lullaby lose stacks?

  • I have a better idea and this can be interesting for the killer and the survivor so tell me what you think! :)

Hex (Huntress Lullaby): Your desire to kill sings a song that numbs survivors from danger. Every time you hook a survivor, receive a token up to a maximum of 3/4/5 tokens.
-1 Token: Terror Radius reduced by 25% and your movement speed is increased by 2%.
-2 Tokens: Terror Radius reduced by 50% and your movement speed is increased by 4%.
-3 Tokens: Terror Radius reduced by 75% and your movement speed is increased by 6%.
-4 Tokens: You have no Terror Radius and your movement speed is increased by 8%.
-5 Tokens: Instantly sacrifice any survivor you hook and your movement speed is increased by 10%.

These effects won't be addictive meaning if you reached let's say 2 tokens, then you'll lose the effects of having 1 token. Additionally, reducing your terror radius bonus also applies to the huntress' lullaby since is also counts as a Terror Radius.

  • @Nickenzie sounds amazing! Is it me or does it seem like it would have good synergy with DH lol.
  • Oh, i thought this'd be about the Huntress' humming.

The Cursed Status Effect just needs to go.
A good buff to more than just H: HL.

    My concerns there:
    A) It's a little too much like devour hope.
    B) <--- That's a really cool B. 10% is a huge difference. Combined with TOTH and your 0m terror radius, the survivors are going to have one hell of a time trying to cleanse that totem. (Also again with devour hope, you'd have instant downs, making it even harder.)
    C) It would probably feel really bad to be the survivor who gets downed by Sonic and instantly sacrificed because two or three other survivors played poorly and gave the killer stacks.

Might make it a tiny bit too easy to snowball out of control with that combination of perks.

Well it is a hex perk and I feel like hex perks should be strong if they can be removed at anytime (risk and reward). However, what makes it sound OP is the fact that survivors will now need to pay attention to the killer because you would get a notification like other hex perks.

If my version is a but too much, how would you balance Huntress Lullaby? :)

Then work it so it can't be played with other hexs like if you have Toth active whole game it negates noed because no dulls do that have the no notifications or humming linked to the totems gives a second objective to the game but in order to utilizes the speed boost you have to have less stacks so you start at 5 base movement but no humming and a very small tr as no tr is to much though fun for jumpscares maby add in if it's run with bop the no mark effect is active till first survivor hooked or first totem broken but back on track the second you make a hook a totem dulls and you get a 2% increase in speed but if a totem breaks you get a 2% attack cool down increase making it a triple edged sword as if a survivor takes out the original totem like with toth all effects are negated
  • I get your point about messing with muscle memory, but I'd argue that a Survivor staring paranoid for the silent skill check isn't a Survivor looking to see which direction the Killer is coming from.
  • IMO Lullaby should be based on a timer not hooks. So the longer you leave the totem, the less time you have between the sound and the skill check. TBH, the delayed sounds isn't an issue you can adjust to it rather easily. But if it was a constantly varying effect it would be harder to adjust.

  • Perhaps on the 5th stack it could give a substantially false skillcheck warning chime (I'd like to use this with Freddy, myself) ALONG WITH either bouncing the skillcheck ring to different points on the screen (like Doc's tier 3 Madness) or narrowing the skillcheck ring success section down to Decisive Strike size. It's description states it's supposed to "muddle the survivor's attention," so that should muddle it nicely. I've hardly ever had a Hex totem last up to 5 levels, so that final level may as well be made worth it when you can get it to activate.

  • I really enjoy @Nickenzie version of HL but I also really enjoy this as well. As far as fixes go this would be great because that shaking skillcheck gets me every time and have it shake AND have a delayed noise is sure to be pretty bad on people not paying attention. But I run HL on my Leatherface and this creates map pressure for him so this fix would be great, for Nickenzie's idea I think it should be another perk entirely just because it's so different. Progressively getting a lower to zero TR over time is dangerous because at the end they won't know where you are until it's too late. > @Keene_Kills said:

That's and argument to be made. But that really only comes into play for people trying to heal. As there is a real threat of the killer chasing you down. People sitting safely at a generator aren't bothered to much by it. I've taken to asking people after the game about the hex. And most red rank survivors agree that the skillchecks get easier at 5 stacks.

The fifth stack making the skillcheck something like overcharges tier 3 skillcheck would be a really really strong buff for the fifth stack for sure, and I wouldn't be opposed to moving skillchecks, but both at the same time would be to much at 5 stacks.

However I do think that the stronger version is actually still mine. Becasue the varying change in skillcheck timers is really what's messing with the survivors, and making the totem oppressive. When you go from 2 hooks, to 3, to 4, this messes up there reflexes considerably. And I often see the most failed skillchecks right after getting a hook. If I lose momentum, the skillcheck failings slow down.
