Got frustrated with the game and taking a break since I'm having to work extra and cover for everybody at work at the moment. I like a skin or two in there, but so far behind and so tired when I get home that I realize it's definitely not worth trying now.

Non-directional generalized hum. Even beyond all that, Huntress hitboxes are broken AF and Dead-Eye Doofy's hitbox is the size of a gnat's ass. And she can oomph you upside the head as you're vaulting or directly after... you shoot somebody with Hex: Tex through a window or as they're vaulting and they're breaking your chain and giving you a helluva' stun as they prance off unfazed. Huntress has to refill hatchets, Marlboro Mange has to (albeit quickly) reel 'em in and THEN M1 them on top of it. Huntress has her ups and downs, Broke Back Jack has his ups and downs. From what I've experienced, Huntress is much less forgiving, honestly.
-
I've been dodging him pretty well, give or take. No different than hatchets (besides being devoid of audible cue). He's also as slow as Huntress with a 4m larger terror radius. Only problem I'm finding with him at the moment is recharge seems a bit too fast for my liking. Otherwise, pretty polished. When you get somebody camping with him at range and you're the only one going in for a save, though, who's obviously pretty good with FPS games... bruh, hang 'er up. You're in for a rootin', tootin' bad day.
-
Please tell me that's not truly the killer's name...

This is exactly why the full-time implementation of time-outs should have been held off on until they were able to establish reasons and apply fixes or workarounds for game crashes that would incorrectly trigger them. Thought that was why they were tested and then held in limbo forever and a day. There's really no excuse for it.

otzdarva would like to know your location
None of us are even in the same realm as Otz on Trapper. Like running towards Usain Bolt while screaming, "I'm fast AF, boi!"

Are you suggesting hot ladies put bear traps in their mouth?
The ones worth going home with do. Don't you kink shame me!
-
D+, which is basically what Trapper is now. Like going home with a hot lady, then she takes her teeth out and plops them in a cup of water. Sure, it has its uses for some folks, but was expecting something much, much better.
-
SuRpRiSe: Trapper can now reset a trap in place. That's the SuRpRiSe. He's now D+ instead of D. Pretty good job so far.
-
Wendigo from the new Antlers movie coming out! OK, it's obviously not, but I refuse to give up on my dream of a Wendigo in this game (even the original basis where it can possess others); Hag doesn't get sole ownership for the spot when even Leatherface has the taste for the good noms.
All I know is, if it does end up being Pinhead for some reason, I hope it's the Doug Bradley likeness of Pinhead and not the awful Revelations or Judgment versions.

Then when that inevitably has problems, about 4 or 5 months later it should be solved, right?
That's when they start sharing images of hockey masks across social media to draw in more new players to cover for the vets who finally gave up and quit. They'll declare matchmaking is and has been working as intended, and it's all been part of their master plan to place low ranks vs high ranks in order to give them a challenge and play better, and if we don't like it, we can just feel free to miss out on the limited edition Rift swag and go play Civilization.
-
Hang in there. They're on the 2nd-3rd month of looking into it. Band-aid should arrive in about 8 more cosmetic drops and a chapter or two.

Yes I remember that long string of survivor buffs and killer nerfs too /s
Remember what ya' want, be as sarcastic as ya' want, make whatever list ya' want. Doesn't change the facts.
It is what it is, and I'm just telling the truth. Killers are leaving or turning over to survivor mains (inflating queues); and post after post here as well as comment after comment on their social media confirms the reasoning, which I laid out here. If you don't see it, it's either because you're too biased (and therefore ignorant) or too willfully blind to see it's true.
-
Killers aren't leaving over one perk. They're leaving over a long, drawn-out campaign to simplify survivor gameplay in order to make it more fun at the extreme expense of the killers' enjoyment. It's like a lover who's done you wrong time and again, and you keep going back to them, hoping they will change. It's a toxic relationship.
Ruin nerf was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Then the dev Q&A yesterday confirmed it for most folks. The game plan going forward is quite clear, the lover has not changed, and many killers are giving up on holding out hope. Simple as that.
-
So, basically, killers' main focus should be on holding down a 3-gen strat... after reworking the killer known to be the king of the 3-gen strat.
-
What in the busted-as-hell-game kinda' crap is that in which to look forward?
Man... like, did they take a poll I didn't know about on how to make things worse or something?

Can anybody confirm whether the event skins are auric cells only or available with shards, as well?
Never mind. 100% Auric Cells only. Typical.
Whatever happened to tying event and event cosmetics to the archives?

Mid-Chapter Patch drops today, Archives tomorrow. So at least new Lery's and Ruin/Doc changes :(
-
OK, mid-chapter patch drops TODAY.
Archives drop TOMORROW.
-
Trailer just confirmed it was dropping tomorrow, the 22nd.
-
Been playing majority as survivor for a while now for this reason, but lately I don't even play killer when I get bored of survivor and just choose to turn it off. I've even been deleting most killer dailies instead of going in and just hoping a survivor one pops up in its place.
Since queue wait times on survivor have jumped up to triple or more of what they used to be, I have to assume I'm not the only one.
Something's gotta' happen soon.
-
So, nerf Hex: Ruin "because it hurt new players" (supposedly), then turn around and end the Rank system entirely instead of fixing it and matchmaking... which will only hurt new players.
It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.
Hadn't they already spoken time and again about reworking Ranks and making rank rewards? Did they not defend not changing specific details in the game, citing the inability to change achievements through specific console(s) (point being, there are achievements tied to ranks, so how could they remove ranks but not fix other parts of the game tied to achievements)? Didn't they just recently discuss overhauling killer ranking to be character-specific, which would in itself be a vast endeavor?
Would like to know more details on exactly what dev supposedly stated this and the context therein, because it feels extremely contradictory to their official position on Ranks. Don't get me wrong, it would follow in-line perfectly with many other bad decisions on their part and I wouldn't put it past them, but I'd still want some more details.
-
Is this satire? Hard to tell since the Dark Times began anew.
-
Be glad you got purple ranks. Most folks end up with solid red ranks, maybe one purple or green thrown in there... you know, to even things up.
-
It's pretty apparent you made this poll (and several other posts now) just to call out folks who aren't grinning ear-to-ear with these nerfs. It's sad trolling at this point.
-
Nope. Nostradamus says folks may try getting some use out of odd bits like Flip Flop or Buckle Up at first, realize they're no help, definitely implement Unbreakable or No Mither as part of the new meta, because it directly (conveniently) combats it. Then folks will complain that they shouldn't have to run a particular perk to combat a widespread playstyle. They'll argue it's not a contradiction to having Ruin (the 80%+ used perk to slow the game down "just a li'l bit") destroyed, and there will be pages upon pages of arguments trying to prove they're not hypocrites on the matter. Ultimately, though, a crap storm wave of complaints will then lead to nerfs on slugging (faster recovery rate, faster heal rate for folks on the ground, slowing bleed-out timer, faster ground movement, etc.) and nerfs on moris (this one would be a little more delicate, as requiring 2 hooks to be mori'able seems as though it would completely induce a civil war beyond even the Ruin backlash, and there's not many more ways they could nerf a mori).
Killers in general will either adapt until the next adaptation is necessary or they finally get tired of adapting and leave. Survivors in general will try to adapt until it becomes annoyingly difficult and the devs will change their diapers. As it was, as it always will be. Harsh metaphor, but it's true.
-
As a Survivor: Continuing to play boring game after game in monotony, realizing I'm not having fun but continuing for some reason.
As a Killer: Failing to see the writing on the wall, even after it's been written in layer after layer of bold, fluorescent spray paint in 1'-tall letters for a while now.
-
Clown has some of the best cosmetics in the game, no question about it. Still possibly my favorite killer, to boot. Just a damned shame that looking brilliant doesn't help him get out of D-tier in effectiveness.
-
I think most folks have just given up at this point. It would seem folks are completely disenchanted by the continued and blatant dismissal of large-scale feedback time and time again. I'm beginning to think that, yeah, maybe it's time.
-
Great, so the solution to a meta perk band-aid fix to early game gen slowdown is a different perk band-aid fix to early game gen slowdown that only has a short guaranteed affect on 3/7 gens and is then rendered useless for the remainder of the match. Much better than actually addressing the underlying singular problem of early game gen rush. Cool beans.
-
Straight to Jane's thiccness with a quickness.
-
So they derank down to a rank in which they need to be, as you said... and still not only face gen rushing, but also broken matchmaking, still finding themselves playing against reds and purples. OK.

Hey @underlord99!
You'll be happy to know that we already are looking to change the 3 second cooldown cause we know this is not working. The final change isn't yet approved so I cannot tell you what it is but when we have a confirmation, we'll communicate about it.
Good. Because right now, it basically is just used to shock somebody in a loop, take the extended time where you both can't do diddley to go stand with them at the pallet there and hope they walk too far past it so you can block them from reaching it.
You stare deep into each others' eyes, share a long loving glance that seems to last a lifetime, take a moment to daydream about what your children together will end up looking like, and then get slammed upside the head with a pallet while they head to the next loop and prepare for your next hot rendezvous.
His shock time in particular is absolutely horrid and downright impotent in his current PTB form.
-
My God, he's absolutely terrible. The delay on your shock compared to survivors' recuperation speed basically guarantees they're getting the pallet on you in a loop. In the meantime, you're just standing there looking at each other, blocking each others' way, derping. Just throw the pallet early, leaving you standing there mid-charge, make it all the way out of your shock range and to another loop before you can regain control of the situation. The 10% or whatever it is extension is barely noticeable as you're usually still just trying to anticipate aim during a tight loop. It's useful at cornered windows now, because you can pin them in and all they can do is try to slow vault and you can grab them (just in time by hard spamming the action), but open windows they'll just run around you to the pallet undoubtedly hanging out just a few feet away while you're running around likewise impotent and action-less. He's more useless than teets on a boar. He somehow feels more clunky and worthless now without having to switch stances, if you can believe that.
And static blast? Well, you still need your TR-expanding perks to make it even worth using on an elongated cool-down... a charged action, by the way. And what's it do? Just gives you the info you got passively before. If you don't already have a good idea of where folks are, it's not going to help you find anybody even remotely close to the way his old location tracking worked. Huge nerf.
Survivors can "snap out of it" in intervals without losing progress (seriously, nobody misses a "snap out of it" skillcheck).
Where at least you could oppress a bit before, you have absolutely nothing going for you now. Nothing. He's dead. At one time, long ago, he was my main. And now he's dead.
And BTW, Lery's is a killer nightmare now. Dark lighting, dark neutral colors, plenty of corners to get hung up on in 1st person view. Only thing unchanged is the extremely safe 2-floored center operating room (of course they did).
I'm so f***ing over this crap.
-
Aye. It was always the exhaustion perk I chose for that very reason. Just figured I'd bring it up, since it's become a heavy go-to from survivor mains when they need to try to demonstrate how downtrodden and oppressed they believe survivor is, especially when trying to argue in favor of each fresh consecutive killer nerf as of late.
-
Wish there was a "Maybe" option. I switched over from playing a vast majority of killer to a vast majority as survivor after Legion released because killer had become so frustrating and stressful that it wasn't worth it any longer. I sit here, playing survivor, bored as all hell, hoping that some day they'll put some oomph and fun back into killer... and it just doesn't happen. And now this? I'd like to hold out hope, and I'd wish nothing more than to be able to go back to killer and have fun again, but hope is running out. I'm a hard "maybe" at this point.
-
"And don't forget about the game-breaking nerf to Balanced Landing, an exhaustion perk that should have never had an additional bonus available at all times in the first place!"
-
Compares folks with very valid concerns to behaving like children, asks folks to "be civil please." OK, noted.
-
Kinda' difficult to deny it at this point, isn't it?
-
Not long ago, I felt it was slowly working itself towards a slanted death.
Now... now it's in a suicide nosedive. Can't have a match without a killer. Will die faster than gens popping in a sweaty 4-man SWF.
-
It's so ineffective and worthless that the devs deemed it necessary to nuke it and salt the earth below it to make the game funner and easier for survivors. Cool, got it.
-
Load in. Look up. Walk around swinging at the wall every now and then. No chase points, no WGLF stacks... just gen points, EZ escapes, and one highly disappointed Entity. They want to live and die by "numbers this, numbers that," without any viable context or any attempt to address the underlying causes of glaring problems? Give 'em some numbers to go by, fam. Not worth wasting moris or getting upset... either just don't play or go in and sandbag it. Shouldn't take more than 3-4 minutes. Let 'em pore over those numbers afterwards.
-
Wow, I never thought about it like that. Completely changed my mind. I wonder if we asked nicely enough if they'd step on our throats and drip loogies down into our gasping mouths, too.
If "devs know best," why couldn't they attribute the use of Hex: Ruin to the actual reason folks use it (to combat terrible gen speed design) and instead infer a BS reason for which literally nobody uses it (absolutely 0 people give two farts in a bucket about Gatekeeper emblems... I mean, c'mon, seriously?).
Crack account using dead minnows.
-
Worked on me. I completely steer clear of killer now except to do challenges, and then I'm instantly reminded exactly why I steer clear.
-
Cleansing is akin to suicide. Teammates start cleansing even remotely early into the match, drop 'em and flop 'em like a boss. They're going down and taking you with 'em.
-
Hop on each evening to do my daily challenge then I'm out. Tried the first two nights and it's damn near unbearable on both solo survivor and killer. As it was, as it always will be through BP bonus events (I'll still at least try out whatever seasonal "events" they pull, since they appear to be few and far between going forward). Saw it coming, though, and prepped up Grim Dawn again. Forgot how much I dug it.
-
Current matchmaking combined with school holidays made the perfect storm of absolute solo survivor hell. Every match ends up a potato salad buffet.
