  • Not sure what's crybaby about this... it seems common sense to not be able to DH through traps. Makes absolutely no sense to be able to do so. It's an exploit and has no reason to continue. Or just keep that and let killer be able to "nod" through DS, either/or.

Edit OK, apparently it was meant to be able to neuter certain killers' powers while having the major draw of being a 2nd-chance no-hit-box pull in a chase. That definitely renders it a non-exploit... but still doesn't make it any more sensible. Just doesn't feel as if it has any reasoning behind it, IMHO.

  • I agree. I loathe being camped, and I don't particularly enjoy losing BP by shoe-gazing somebody on the hook, either. Nothing fun about it on either end. Tends to be why I don't teabag, FL blind through pallets, or loop exploit while on survivor... and those same things in various combinations tend to be the only reasons I facecamp somebody as killer. Otherwise, get out there and enjoy the hunt!

  • Agreed. I still like the idea of having to find fuel for generators, as well. As survivor, it was refreshing to have something else to do with a BP boost, and as killer it was nice not having a 5-minute gen rush craptacular.

  • @The_Crusader said:

Just sit next to the person on the hook and kick back, read a book or something like most killers do. Then try to mop up the rest with NOED.

This strategy seems to be all the rage these days. Doesn't look very stressful.

Guess we know what somebody's most frustrating experience has been... :chuffed:

  • This was such a great announcement. I'd already gotten all my vials for both sides, but this is going to hopefully impact Killer lobby times so that I can get back to playing again! I'm kinda' glad it forced folks who were determined for vials to play both sides for a bit, though, as having to do so for mains on either side was a good learning experience (walk a mile in my shoes, yadda yadda yadda).

  • I'm thankfully on vacation this week from work, and it seriously took 8 hours per day (give or take) playing every day Saturday through Wednesday to finish Killer vials. It was horrifying and, in retrospect, not worth it. Now I have 2 killers with about 20 petals each that will NOT be used, because there's no way I'm hopping back into 30-45 minute lobby waits right yet, extra BP or not. It's pure madness!
  • I thankfully finished Survivor side earlier this evening, the last vial taking three games having only my sole offerings (of course). That was getting ridiculous. All done on both sides now and breathing a sigh of relief.  I truly feel sorry for folks still having to wade through that nonsense throughout the remainder of the event and plan on continuing to show a little mercy to Survivors I see harvesting cankers; I certainly empathize with them.
  • TL;DR (Too Loud, Didn't Read).

  • 110% what @Nos37 said ^^^

After 4 hardcore, sleepless days (with work, of course), I finally finished the Killer vials earlier today. Started on Survivor side about 6 this evening and already have 22 Survivor vials. Has to be about 1/8 of the time. Super easy, I can't even believe it. There may have been one game where I didn't get a full vial filled, and that was one where I was the only person who used a Pustula Petal. I can get 2 full vials on Survivor in the time it takes to load a lobby for Killer right now... not even stretching that.

Although I have noticed one thing: As Killer, I was being very kind about Survivors getting their fill-up. Even went around letting some lob me with pallets for BP (so I could break them, too, of course). It was a nice change of pace, a 180 on your standard grind. It was long and drawn out, excruciating really, but I had fun. Probably the first time I've shared enjoyable conversation in the after-match chat. Now, as Survivor, earlier in the evening I was getting the same kind of treatment from Killers I'd given throughout the event, a sense of respect for the ooze... but after midnight, things got ugly fast. Almost every game since, I'm facing Killers who are trapping cankers and slinging ya' on whatever hooks are near or even to the basement. I would say most are done with the event, have no plan on playing Survivor side, and are now just giving it 110% again... but some are still packing Agitation and Iron Grasp combined, so I'm bumfuzzled. LoL All that, decent Killers going full bore, and still getting vials filled (pretty much) every match.

Is the event Killer biased? By the nature of the event itself, yes. Is the event Survivor biased? In practice, oh yes, certainly so. It only sucks that I'll have to go back to Killer after this so I can continue to enjoy the Pustula Petal BP boost... that's the only thing I have found as a downside on the Survivor side. Comparing that to the lobby times and the time it takes to actually get 1 vial filled for Killers, oh Survivor vials are SO EZ mode right now.

Regardless, I hope everybody is able to get their farming done and have a great Hallowed Blight!

Quick Edit I REALLY wish I hadn't gone so easy on Survivors as Killer. The Killers this early morning are tryhard AF! Trappers, Hags, and Myers, boom boom boom. Still gettin' those vials, though!

  • Jumpin' Geehosofat! There's not enough coffee in the world to prepare somebody for a close-up pic of Nea like that in the morning. Devs gonna' have to step it up with the killers when the most frightening mug in the game is a hookie.

  • I'm Rank 11 currently on killer and still looking at 20-45 mins. lobbies daily since Saturday regardless of time of day. When they do fill, it's been pretty steady with SWF holding Rank 2s-18 mixed, so YMMV. It seems to be an odd time for queues across the board rank-wise.

  • I'm looking at 20-30 mins. lobbies as killer in EST evenings/nights, and 45 mins. lobby this morning. The pain is real. Should make the vials slowly begin filling after the 20-minute mark while in lobby LoL.

  • 110% this. I love the concept of the Clown, love playing as him, and hate how virtually pointless his tonic is without add--ons. C'mon, Devs... give this idea a ptb!
  • Bingo. I wasn't going to buy any cosmetics from this after earning the one outfit... but they were awfully gracious with the turnout to the players' outcry, so I'm thinking 1 survivor and 1 killer from the grind, then I'll purchase another out of appreciation (the only trouble now is deciding on which... I'd only narrowed down one to earn but now, well, the choices are so difficult as they all look incredible!).

  • Thank you for listening to the players' outcry. Much more fair now for folks to be able to get both a Survivor and Killer outfit each. Out-friggin'-standing.

  • "Damned whiny people," screamed the people now whining about people whining.

  • Was wondering why it's taking forever to get a lobby going... everybody's lost in error land :( Hope everybody gets to hop on soon and enjoy the festival later this afternoon!

  • Minor bug fixes (is all I just got on PC just now, at least). I got excited for nothing when I saw an update was available LoL Still seems like the event's going to be 2-ish PM EST.

edited for auto-correct because my phone perpetually hates my fat thumbs

  • All a survivor had to do was lead them up to the top floor balcony, hit the farthest corner, and then struggle out on the ride down because there was no way they could get a survivor to a hook without the right perks. Could get loose just outside the building entrance, run back up, and if the killer tried it again (insanity) most gens could be finished by the second round of this. They basically had to drop and slug you.

  • Oh noes! They took away yet another exploit?! The audacity of these people! C'mon, seriously, I used that exploit, everybody's used that exploit. It was infamous and needed changed, much like the sagging diaper you've been parading through every DBD forum available since the patch went live.

  • Mad they'll have to throw every pallet in the map to 2 sec-heal behind in order to get back to full now. Just drop DS for Botany Knowledge and you'll be all good :+1: Boom, minor inconvenience solved and you can get right back to that all-important tea bagging.

  • How about removing hooks?
So you don't have to come on here and boost your fragile ego with one-line toilet posts furthering the growing community assumption of childish survivors in need of a fresh developer teet?

  • By "gen prolonging," I meant anything to prolong the game in a meaningful way (other objectives, buffs to other perks to help slow down gen progression so not every single killer has to use 1-of-4 on Hex:Ruin day in and day out, etc.). The main idea is this: 4 secs added to healing is a step in the right direction, SO far from game crushing, and hopefully not the last thing we see, since so many necessary changes were overlooked -- yet again -- by devs.

  • DS nerf, REAL gen prolonging, SWF separation, etc. There's a laundry list of things that need to be dealt with to put killers on even ground. If 4 extra secs. to heal up is that soul-crushing to you, I feel for you when/if actual buffs/nerfs come. You and those like-minded are why this game is so toxic... and that's why you'll get tunneled (I would say camped, but they nerfed that, too, so...) until you D/C on the shoulder.

  • Also, good luck with ever getting those Adept [Insert Killer] achievements for any new killers you pick going forwards. LoL

  • Yup, the Ranking system is something that needs a major overhaul in the worst way. If you want to level up a new character after passing 15, you basically have to just farm BP on a better character, dump them in the new character, and prepare for a massive learning curve against de-ranked survivors. Sucks the joy out of learning a new killer completely. :(

  • If it weren't for the Clown's use of toxins already and the "Doc" moniker already taken, I'd aim for a Plague Doctor.

I kinda' hope they don't go for using classic monster archetypes to build off... would feel really odd having a Frankenstein's monster or classic werewolf or the like shoulder-to-shoulder with the current roster. Unless, of course, they built off the foundations of those monsters: Strigoi, Ghoul, etc.

I'd like to hear something already, that's for sure!

  • Hahaha... never.

Don't think for a second they'd give you an ounce of mercy whatsoever. Preferably hook 'em somewhere that you have to walk right by the hatch so they can hear it as they die on the hook.

  • That's high treason, punishable by death. Play with dignity.

  • Yeah, he speaks about finding Vigo's notes and then seeking him out. Wonder if that means Vigo will pick up notes-leaving duties and ol' Benedict on the blighted hunt. But what did the blight turn him into there at the end...? Hopefully we'll see.

I’d like to see them fix the top of the Thompson house!

In the name of all that which is evil, THIS PLEASE! And several other similar places come to mind, as well (lower schoolhouse if basement doesn't spawn there), etc.

  • Just had this done to me as a killer. No way you're getting down there for a hook without Agitation and/or Iron Grasp. No way, no how. Survivors even laughed about it in post-game chat... everybody worth their salt knows about it, you'd think the devs would by now (oh they most certainly do). All you can do is try to get as low down the stairs in the house as possible, drop and slug. I thought the devs were pushing like maniacs to get us AWAY from slugging? C'mon, man...

Edit: Aaaand I just did this as a survivor to a Billy 3x, and I suck. Group was able to finish 4 gens before he got fed up with me on the 3rd trip down the stairs and just dropped me. Final gen was done before he even got out of the house. He ended up with 7.5k BP (I only got 11k, but I got chased up there early on). Tried to apologize afterwards, but he closed out chat fast... I feel his pain. It sucks. Fix this hot mess!

  • I'm leaning towards the idea of him being the new killer, given the situation in his Blight notes. I'm down with that.

  • Past experience shows it takes developers a good long while to make adjustments, even after committing and admitting to what needs accomplished. Let's say they go ahead and nerf Billy & Nurse, then there's a long waiting period before they'd buff the rest. In that span of time, with all killers at the absolute mercy of survivors, how long would it take the killer main base to throw their hands up? I know when I'm having a bad SWF night on Doc or Clown or even Huntress, I fall back and lift myself with an at least leveled game with Billy. I know I'd probably just switch over to survivor and play until the bugs are worked out (with no promise they would buff across the board, just blind faith). How many others would? How long until the player base on both sides would drop off, killers from just giving up and survivors from being unable to find a lobby?

I just don't think they'd be able to implement the across-the-board buffs in a timely enough manner to save face.

  • I got a rule for 'em: Run faster.

  • Survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8Q5TQ2L

Say's it's for the Shattered Bloodline launch feedback, but after the initial few questions it gets into wanting to know what you think is wrong with the game at the moment. And it gives you plenty of space to let 'em know.

Have at 'er, and give 'er truthful hell!

  • I agree 100%, xmenfanatic. Problem is, lobby dodging is all we can do at the moment to avoid getting motorboated by SWF. I play solo survivor when I bounce over and play survivor, never once in my entire time playing have I been in a SWF, and I truly feel your pain... I do. This morning as killer, I had to dodge 11 in a row because they were 3-4 SWF. I gave up and started playing solo survivor, and watched the poor killer take it in action, knowing I was bait. Swarmed like flies when he downed somebody. Body blocking en masse. The same ol', same ol' coordinated BS. For the good of everybody, SWF needs to go or have separate servers... that's all there is to it.

Hopefully everybody did the DBD questionnaire and were truthful with what's fueling the toxicity in the community... and hopefully the developers will listen to the massive outcry.
