  • @George_Soros Have you tried the new survivor?

Playing stealthy doesn't get you anywhere. If you want to pip you need to hammer those gens and you need to steal all the unhooks.

On top of this survivors are dropping like flies. You don't have time to waste hiding, you need to do the gens otherwise they don't get done.

It's a race to score as many points as possible before your team ends up wiped out. Plus a lot are just giving up on the hook now.

Go to a window in your room and open it. Then stand right before it and point your arm forward. Your mind will be blown.

You can try with a hammer or kitchen knife too.

Insulting sarcasm aside, killers can attack through windows, even with chainsaws.

Killers can reach through windows but his chainsaw is something else. It pulls him through the damn window.

  • Nah Billy can do that. "pErFeCtLy BaLaNcEd".

@The_Crusader So just out of curiosity, why don't you like playing Legion? They're quite strong with good add-ons and most people seem to really like their aesthetic.

Ok the add ons don't count to me because in 99% of my games I don't use anything beyond green add ons. It just doesn't interest me. I like fairly standard chill games.

So for me he's a 110% movement speed killer which makes it hard to get survivors down with him. He doesn't have hatches, traps or phase walking so he's on his own. He feels like using Huntress without hatches - awkward.

So then you use his power and boy does it suck. Ok I vaulted the pallet and hit a survivor. Now what? Oh they aren't down. Guess I'll hit them again. Oh they still aren't down and I'm stunned. Hmm maybe if I just keep doing it another 3 times that will work but boy is it taking a while.

Maybe I'll try a new strategy. I'll apply deep wounds then I'll manually end stun next to them. Hmm can i catch up to them before they get to another pallet? Oh no they reached a vault.

Hmm that wasn't very fun either. Whats optimal? I know, I'll hit them twice then follow them while staring at the floor. Hmm dont want to get too far that i cant follow them, but dont want to get too close that the chase counts. I know i'll look sideways or backwards. Hmm they keep running and running but im getting closer. Their bar is ticking down. They cant stop to heal. Its still taking a while though. I know this isnt fun when it happens to me but it seems the simplest way to get a survivor down.

Basically he sucks. Hes crap without his power and his power blows without purple add ons. I'd rather just take a normal killer and give the survivors a good whack. Even Freddy doesnt feel anywhere near as hindered as Legion.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

Of course its tunneling, afterall thats what survivors define it as. And when that happens to be the smartest thing to do for the killer, then he's right to be a "noob filthy sweaty tryhard tunneler".

And when all Billies playa certain way, why dont survivors adapt to that?

Because the way to adapt is to just not unhook, which is no fun for anybody.

  • Legion fun to play as? He's hands down the worst.

  • Why do dull totems? You aren't gonna pip. You need gens and unhooks more than ever now.

Dull totems should count towards lightbringer the same as lit in my opinion. It makes it worthwhile being the totem hunter. Otherwise you're sacrificing your own emblems for the sake of a selfish team.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

I'm hoping to rank up fast. All the survivors I have been playing against are either messing around, or they play like absolute noobs. Way too easy. I've also been experiencing an odd increase in dc's. I agree, the auto-aim is bs; so many times, my swings have magnetized onto the survivors' backs, connecting when they shouldn't have. Hit-boxes are a serious joke as well. I hate that killer mains complain so much about gen-rushing and pallet-looping when it is the only way survivors stand a chance of escaping. You could argue that survivors can 360, but that only works against stupid killers. Then the argument of morons always comes into play: "It's called 'deadbydaylight', not 'survivebydaylight.'" Why people that use this argument are even allowed to own a computer is beyond me.

"Survivors messing around or playing like absolute noobs"

This is exactly the issue I'm having as solo survivor. Some go down in 5 second chases, many get pulled out of lockers, and a number appear to be just there to troll, fast vaulting repeatedly to get others killed, purposefully farming in front of the killer etc spinning around in circles

  • The amount of salt you can generate in the post-game chat.

  • @Swiftblade131 said:

    "ENDURING SHOULDN'T COUNTER DS"

Now we have come full circle, first they said "Just use enduring" when people complained about decisive. Now it "shouldn't work against decisive", because decisive is just such a horrible and bad perk now!

Don't have to deal with enduring if you don't run your crutch

DS isn't a crutch anymore. Killers have far more "crutchy" perks than DS now.

Can't believe I'm defending it. Would have never imagined this a few months ago.

  • @George_Soros said:

All you pathetic, spoilt, whiny children... I mean you, who says "survivor is hard now", "I understand why people DC against Legion", "new DS ruined the game"...

You know, if I were you, I wouldn't be so proud of giving up something because it's not easy. Yeah, playing survivor, especially solo has its challenges. But there's nothing more miserable than someone who gives up as soon as he faces some actual difficulty.

"Tunneling". The term itself is the biggest load of horsecrap ever. If I find you injured, I'll hunt you down. It's a game where a killer tries to kill you, duh. Why is it surprising? Be a good survivor, shut your mouth and die :)

Dude....when I play killer 99% of the time those gens don't get done.

When I play survivor recently it's the same, 99% of the time those gens don't get done.

It's very frustrating, especially when I have no control over it. Survivor goes down in 5 seconds to a ######### Trapper. A ######### TRAPPER!! without using traps!!

The game is clearly becoming too much for the average survivor and it ruins the game for the other solos now. At least before you could grind out a pip. Now its much harder when your team is dead in 60 seconds.

Why am I going to bother playing a frustrating experience when I can just stick to killer instead?

A lot of it is bad decisions which I guess cant be helped. They'll run towards the hook while being chased, go down next to the hook and then if slugged stay there while the killer camps. Why?

Again before you could ride it out to get to better ranks with better players but it takes so ######### long now that it's just not worth the time or effort.

  • @Susie_ said:

We see some survivor perks all the time in the game which some killers find annoying, should we nerf them or revert the changes made to them.

There havent been changes made recently to them. Sprint burst, self-care, adrenaline go back years.

But yes thats the point. Not sure why you're trying to turn this into a one side vs the other debate.

The meta has been extremely stale on the survivor side. Now the killer side is going the same way. It is not good.

  • @Susie_ said:

Ruin can slow down gens a little bit. I don't see why is it a problem.

Yes please tell me to apply pressure because it is easier to never adapt and just play the game of excuses. Ruin is in the game and even tho I don't like hex perks I use it on some killers because I find it helps a little bit to get a head start unless they spawn on it. It is risky but I don't think there is anything better atm to slow gens.

Because like noed after the changes we now see Ruin in almost every single game too. Many killers take both.

The point is people complained about a stale meta for ages...so the devs solution was to make it even more stale.

  • Good. Killer mains cried for survivors to pip slower and now they got what they wanted.

  • @Eross1b said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/385209#Comment_385209

You don't like my opinion so you just dismiss it as a killer main. No solution is gonna come if you only listen to your own opinion.

I'm used to Ruin. Others aren't. Survivors are having problems ranking up now. Look at Tru3, he's pretty much always rank 1, all of his recent videos have been purple ranks. This is someone who has hours to dedicate to the game every day.

You get put with newer players who aren't used to Ruin. "Just hit every great skillcheck" isnt a good excuse because it still slows the game down, otherwise it wouldn't be a meta perk. You get mediocre killers managing to wreck noobs with this perk. It wasn't an issue before because it was easy to rank up and be with players on your own skill level. Not anymore though, not without serious time dedication which not all of us can do.

There's also the fact that its just boring. I know the same applies to survivor perks like sprint burst, dead hard, self-care being used in every game but thats been called out as a problem for a while. So ehat do they do to shake up the meta? They just make the killer side more meta too.

  • @Eross1b said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/385201#Comment_385201

I have no problem with it while playing survivor. You can just hit the skillchecks which isn't hard, or cleanse the totem. Git gud and git over it.

"I pLaY SuRvIvOr FrOm TiMe 2 tImE tOo"

Oncr again you completely missed the point of my post in your effort to scream "git gud, i needz ma crutch".

  • @Well_Placed_HexTotem said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/384743#Comment_384743

Having one perk dedicated to the chance of an end game perk could be one of the reasons that killer played “poorly”.

This logic also ignores the fact that survivor is easier than killer. It also leaves zero room for fun end game builds. Nope, if you run an end game perk you’re just trash apparently.

Lastly it ignores the fact that in many situations, survivors use Adrenaline for the same thing you’re describing, to reward “bad play”. Often they’ll even time unhooks or chases with their SWF group so that they’re unhooked or about to be caught right when it’ll pop.

    Lmao at the first part.

Plays poorly due to only having 3 perks...but that 4th perk would have made all the difference guys!!!

  • @Eross1b said:

    Learn to hit great skillchecks.

Thanks for completely missing the point.

Ah well as long as killers get to keep their crutch eh?

  • @ParalyKoK Empathy wasn't really nerfed, it still has almost unlimited range. Also thana was nerfed.

Some survivor perks do need to be nerfed. DS did need the nerf.

Now they just need to nerf things on the killer side. NOED for a start.

Also you're right about camping. Survivors need those unhook points so all a killer has to do is wait by the hook to win. It's really bad.

  • Billy by far. An instadown so easy its used more than his basic attack. Can cross the map in 5 seconds.

Billy is who you pick when you're not very good at killer but want to feel like you are.

  • Balances out against survivors with camo, bybthat I mean all the p3 claudettes

  • You can have a 5 gen chase against a killer and still not pip because evader isn't enough.

You play as well as a survivor can but you dont rank up for it. That's ridiculous.

Then you get killers crying for buffs because they got outplayed by a survivor with 1000 mlre hours than them because the ranking system holds them down.

  • @CronaWins said:

Hard to rank up at low ranks since you need the the killer to have half a brain to rank up.

Rank 1 survivor / killer that cannot get out of green ranks do to killers being garbage.

That was my experience the first few days too.

Now its switched. Killer is hooking a survivor every 20 seconds. I max out my safe unhooks but still don't pip because the team is getting hammered so bad I literally don't have time to touch generators so no lightbringer no pip.

Its either the killers are bad or the survivors are bad, either way it feels like playing well is not rewarded.

  • They dont even need a totem counter. Just give them an audio/visual cue when a dull totem is cleansed and where it is cleansed. Make it slightly different to the current totem cue so survivors know whether it was a lit or unlit totem that got cleansed.

Here's the big problem though. A lot of survivors don't do totems. So if you want to avoid Noed you need to cleanse them all. Given the new pip system you're ######### if you do this because you'll be missing out on the gens and unhooks. You can not earn enough towards emblems if you take it upon yourself to cleanse all the totems.

On top of that you don't have time anymore now that killer is so braindead easy. Take a minute out to cleanse totems and oops, all 3 of your team are hooked and not a single generator has been done. Thats been my experience. So all you can do is try to genrush and hope for the best.

  • I hope MoM doesn't make it into the game. I'm going exclusively killer now since survivor is so bad. I don't want any uncounterable crutch perks in the game.

  • @HeroLives 3&4, they can not be repeated enough times!!!!! Those are the difference between a team standing a chance at winning and a team getting wiped out.

    I'd like to add..

    - If the killer chases you, run around a pallet. If the killer gets too close drop the pallet.

Its not hard. Its really not hard at all. It seems some survivors can't even do that these days though

  • @NeaJovovich said:

    Crusader, save your breath.

    Oy vey.

Yeah seems so. Killers going straight after the unhooked guy...*a few mental gymnastics later* "its not tunneling guyz!! Also noed isnt a crutch!!"

The forum has always been killer main central. Not surprised the game is in the state it is now since devs read this all day.

  • People ask them for years to shake up the meta. But now they give even more players access to the meta so its the same damn perks every single game.

    Sprint burst/adrenaline/self-care vs Ruin/noed/bbq

    Not stale at all

  • Can't disagree there.

  • @HazeHound said:

Still hilarious to see babysurvivors try to argue that NOED is a crutch.

Give one reason it is. @The_Crusader

Would the entire community be in an uproar about if it it wasn't?

How many killers do you see saying they don't use because they dont feel like they've earned those kills?

http://www.strawpoll.me/17673635/r I am interested how many killers use Noed.

You've got all the streamers who don't use it because they perceives it as a cheap crutch and often point out how it boosts bad killers. Tru3, panda just as examples. Why? Because noed has this reputation.

Then there is the fact that people often know when a killer has noed. How do they know? Because the killer is playing bad. Its that simple. If the killer can't get hooks you can predict with 100% accuracy that they have Noed. Because its what boosts them.

Some go from 0-2 hooks all game then end up getting about 6-10 once that one perk becomes active. Hmm, nor overpowered at all.

The fact that killer mains like yourself can't admit to it is just sad to see. Like really sad. Its "waaah dont nerf my crurch perk I might need it". Yet the same people cried like hell to have DS gone which was technically weaker than NOED but more annoying. Obviously it deserved to be gone becauase it was a horrible crutch perk but my point is theres a huge level of hypocrisy here.

"Killers want easy 4k's." Yup, that's all I needed to hear to discard your opinion bud. I don't dodge any lobbies unless I see 3+ lunchboxes, cuz I'm not going to get to play so I don't bother playing it. Killers wanting 4ks are sweaty ######### who hate balance. Survivors rushing gens in 4 minutes, everyone escaping cuz of Adren, instaheals, etc, totally fine. Nothing wrong there at all.

Also, survivors, hell. Major streamers who play only survivor, block killers who beat them. You right though, only killers want easy games. That's why there's so many killer main streamers..wait a minute.

    "I don't dodge lobbies....but yeah sometimes I dodge lobbies".

Lmao. I'm guessing 3+ toolboxes are mostly swf too since they're the ones that normally do that. So yeah thanks for proving my point.

@NeaJovovich made a good point. Killers are like "I don't want survivors bringing toolboxes, instaheals or adrenaline, I want a balanced game"

*Proceeds to throw on iri heads, ebony mori, noed, instasaw, prayer beads, 5 blinks etc*

It's the same kind of hypocrisy. Killers don't want survivors giving them a sweaty game yet then they throw on a ######### mori anyway and give the survivors the sweaty game.

  • Still hilarious to see babykillers try to argue that NOED isn't a crutch.

    And ?

So we should adapt the game to weak survivors, instead of them adapting to the game ? (aka gitting gud)

I'm still wondering how grown adults can get to this conclusion if they're aren't trolls.

    Honest thought.

But they've adapted the game to weak killers. Bloodlust, NOED, months of survivor nerfs.

Why don't the killers have to "git gud"?

The killers I'm going against aren't anything special and range from poor to average. They never learned how to tackle loops but hey bloodlust and ######### survivors are here to save the day!

Don't tell me to loop them all game either because you can't pip if you do that.

Solo survivor seems harder than ever but killer feels easier than ever. Hmm I wonder if they could be related. I actually feel bad for surviviors now because of how quickly they're getting wiped out.

Never this poorly. It's on another level.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/384641#Comment_384641

Well that has more to do with the matchmaking system being broken right now and you being put with super low ranks. Also, survivor side is probably slightly too difficult to pip atm.

They aren't super low though. They can be rank 10 playing like they're rank 20.

If it ends up being a red rank killer then I can understand why the newbies went down but often tbe killers are low rank too.

In short...I just dont get why survivors have been so bad recently. I can not stress enough how bad they have been playing. Genuinely like rank 20s. I've no idea why. I don't expect everyone on my side to be a pro I just want them to have a chase last longer than 20 seconds. Or not go in lockers when the killer is within view of them.

Tbh with how much you complain about how hard it is as survivor I'm not sure why you play it.

This is the imaginary story survivors like to make up in their heads but is so far from actual reality.

No it's the damn truth and you know it.

I've been on this forum for months now. Everyone cries about swf and how survivors need nerfs/killers need buffs yet they all admit to dodging swf lobbies anyway.

Hell even as solo I sometimes get dodged in lobby after lobby after lobby.

Killers just want easy 4ks. Because why does it matter if the game ever got perfectly balanced for swf when you can just dodge that lobby and find an even easier game?

  • .....

If you guys think the game is so unbalanced I don't know why you play it.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/384674#Comment_384674

If he waited and timed his save as soon as is zoom goes off to leave you would have been unhooked and walked some distance before he can even zoom back. ie a bad play if he was on you already during unhook. He zoomed back because he saw a save and there you both were. He isn't going to just stare at you and wave because he doesn't want to be a tunneler. Your teammate gave him a chance and he capitalized. "Tunneling" is when he literally ignores everyone else and goes only for you.

If you were the last one hooked and you decided to walk over next to him should he not hit you because "tunneling". That's essentially what you're equating here.

If that same scenario happened to me I wouldn't be blaming the killer, I'd be blaming the survivor for a stupid save. The killer just took was put in front of him.

Every killer can use the perks so vouch for changes to that killer not the perk just because there's a couple exceptions.

No, Billy players tend to hover around in areas where they can make it back to the hook in a direct line. They'll often zip back and forth just waiting for the tunnel because Billy can do that.

Rushing unhooks is a bad idea I wouldn't advocate that, and even then Billy can easily turn around and zoom back. You say you can walk some distance, umm not very far and it's easy to find injured survivors who have just been unooked.

Tunneling is going for the guy who literslly just came off the hook so you can get them on the next hook stage and eliminate someone from the game as quickly as possible. Most killers will ignore the rescuer to tunnel the unhooked survivor or at most give them a hit then persure the unhooked survivor. When you have a killer with unlimited instadowns though it's easy to knock someone else down if they're in the area.

Its like "well I was just sprinting back here to tunnel this guy as soon as he got off the hook bur I spotted this other guy in the area so gave him a quick instadown. See guys!!? Totally not tunneling because I got someone else while I was busying tunneling the other guy".

  • It's not impossible to win games without Ruin.

  • @NeaJovovich said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/384610#Comment_384610

It's hilarious. The Killers cried and cried for Survivor nerfs. Survivors were never the issue, it was SWF that was the issue. Now Survivors are truly a chore to play.

I honestly don't blame purposeful Survivor DCs. A little more than half of Killer players take the game too seriously and just make it entirely unfun for Survivors. Whether it's meme add-ons like Prayer Beads Bracelet or Iri Button or Coxcombed Clapper or Omega Blinks... Players shouldn't have to endure an unfun time just cuz ONE out of FIVE players wants to be ridiculous and use balance tilting add-ons.

Add that the Supernatural killers are getting more and OP with their basekit... I'm not surprised (Spirit/Priestess/etc)

Survival rates were low. Now from what I've seen they're lower than ever.

But killer mains can't accept that maybe, just maybe, they're not as good as they thought?

    I don't even feel a challenge as killer now if I'm against solos or 2 & 2.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/384651#Comment_384651

Then that is not tunneling. Someone else made a stupid save and your teammate played badly if he actually pulled that stunt off.

Also, that is then a killer issue, NOT a perk issue.

How is it not tunneling? He goes out of terror radius then comes zooming back at 200mph.

It's a killer issue but that killer can still use the same perks as everyone else and is still affected by survivor perks the same as everyone else so...

  • @wisdom said:

The only reason you are seeing it every game now is because people can use it every game now, because they are finally able to use the perk they wanted to.

its no different than if you were at higher ranks and going against it at t3 ruin

the only reason it increased in popularity with the change is because before people wouldn’t bother using t1-2 because it was worthless.

I am aware of that and now that it's in 95% of games across the board it's just incredibly lame.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/384608#Comment_384608

Well then you should make a thread about Billy and Nurse because now you aren't wanting it for tunneling purposes. You are just wanting a strong perk against strong killers. That isn't what your thread is about.

Billy can zoom back to the hook, M1 you to tunnek you down. Turn around, instasaw the guy who unhooked you and then pick you up for another hook.

It's tunneling and your proposed theory wouldn't work in this scenario. Same for the Nurse.

Others killers however, much more unlikely that they're going to be able to do that.

  • @Blueberry said:

"killer has become so easy now that weak to average killers can destroy weak to average survivors."

All you're talking about here is low ranks essentially. Killer is always strong at low ranks because the survivors are stupid.

As soon as you have both sides playing very well the game is extremely in survivors favor.

But how am I meant to get out of scrub ranks when my team gets destroyed in under 2 minures and now you can't earn enough to pip when that happens?

    Strange.

I'm getting the worst survivors you could ever imagine. If they aren't disconnecting then they're going down within 20 seconds of being spotted. Once unhooked they run in the direction of the killer rather than away from them and are quickly put on the hook again. It's not uncommon to have someone eliminated from the game within the first 90 seconds.
