  • I typically enjoy Tyde's going-ons... but his placement of poor Bubba had me cackling. Seriously? Any decent survivor worth half their salt will make the chainsaw more of a hindrance than a 1-hit help (that chainsaw needs more immediate attention than even Freddy's rework, IMHO). Wraith isn't nearly as bad as he makes out; he's probably my 3rd favorite Killer right now for when I want to play competitively. And Michael and Hag placements? #########?

  • So, what was the thing they showed us "that they would not show again?" Was it that image going around of the new killer with the multiple fading images, or something different? I tuned in late.

  • Ugh. I gotta' say I'm a bit disappointed, but meh.

Power is probably whenever you hit somebody, you can take on their likeness to a degree or something of the like. I feel as though it'll be worthless, given 9 of 10 matches tend to be 3+ SWF w/comms. Hopefully they've thought this through, though... surely, right?

Crap... I really wanted a Wendigo, snow vamps, or Krampus :( Looks like a gritty reboot version of Last Year's Strangler with a generic mask.

One thing's for sure: Camo-dette's White Strawberry Sweater and Lyrical High-Waisted Pants will be the fastest selling cosmetics in DBD history the moment that map is released.

One thing about Claudettes, we are always ready.

    Looka' that! LoL

I JUST decided to go ahead and Prestige my Claudette... and we get this map. Go figure. Looks like daddy's gonna' have to hit the store soon, myself. That looks top-notch together, BTW. I'm diggin' it.

  • Yeah, she's pretty much in every way, shape, and form a Wendigo... even the Mori. Can we trade Hag for a Wendigo then?

One thing's for sure: Camo-dette's White Strawberry Sweater and Lyrical High-Waisted Pants will be the fastest selling cosmetics in DBD history the moment that map is released.

  • I've gotta' think Krampus or a Wendigo... or even the vamps from 30 Days of Night. It fits too well. And I'd be damned happy with any of them! BRING IT ON ALREADY!

PS - I still want that drunken psychotic mall Santa outfit for Clown, though.

  • YES... drunk, crazed mall Santa is everything I need in my Clownin' life!!! I'd use that year-round!

"Ho, ho, ahh hack hack ho... now gimme' them pinkies!"

  • Agreed. Character model on selection shows me all the detail I need, so long as I can tell who I'm selecting the portrait doesn't have to be mega.

  • If y'all let NOED itself bring about 2 kills by a Doc, well... Well.

  • He has no interrupts, waking up oneself and being awakened by teammates is too easy and fast, the reach of his power is too short compared to his lullaby giveaway and TR, he's easily looped, his attacks/hooks can be body-blocked by awake survivors without consequence, nigh impossible hatch game... he has a pretty good shopping list of why he's ranked the worst killer. I still enjoy playing as him for a change of pace, just for fun, but never when I'm aiming to be competitive.

I don't think it's an exploit, but I really don't like this "Because the devs said so" card people play.

Like, it is possible for the developers to be completely full of ######### in regards to their own game, just saying.

I agree 100%. And that's the very same line that runs through my head whenever somebody posts that SWF should never be touched, as it was "always intended by the devs." We've seen they are fully capable of wrecking their own game from all angles.

That being said, I find DS "dribbling" too taxing to be worth it. Depends on the current state of the particular match and what I feel it necessitates when I down said DS'er... slug, take the DS, etc. This is exactly why I don't feel slugging should've been monkeyed with until after they figured out proper changes to DS.

  • You are not alone. The sweat is real and the salt content is extremely high.

  • If it happens in after-match chat, just make sure to report it through the finale screen there as it stamps the text and logs it for the team to review. They're not dodging that bullet.

  • Never said it doesn't help at all... said it doesn't help enough to justify mentioning it as any type of counter. We know this, yet we still have folks who think otherwise and bring it up every time DS is posted about on here, so about 10x daily.

Edit: I totally said it didn't help at all at the end there LoL But you get the point beyond nitpicking... it's not a counter.
  • Doesn't that include mass suicide survivors from Blight event? I missed how long the time period was during the stream.
  • Enduring doesn't help against DS nearly as much as folks like to pretend, as the stun itself is short compared to the actual animation, which is the majority of the downtime. It really doesn't help at all.

Not that it matters right now; they stated they dunno ######### to do with it and there's no changes in the near future, so juggle on or grit your teeth and take it.
  • Survivors died more than survived over the past several days right before Rank Reset? Weird!

  • Would definitely open up wider possibilities for builds. As of right now, I steer clear of multi-totem builds as I'm tired of not knowing what to patrol and find myself losing gens because of it, so I just avoid them.

  • Killer could be given X% to movement and all action speeds for Y amount of time spent in the tainted area, since the purpose is to get Survivors TF out and on to the next match (and since the Entity favors them).

  • Of course... which is why I wrote "as far as the plan goes." All releases are tentative, something they reaffirm with the mention of anything on the roadmap.

  • I've gotta' agree here. The FOV could definitely use some opening up, for sure. We've already gotta' designate a spot for slowing the game down more often than not... sucks having to take up yet another just to be able to see somewhat close to a normal FOV. I use Shadowborn every time on Wraith, no exceptions, because when I uncloak the speed burst sometimes makes me outrun my own standard FOV and it does more damage than good.

  • Yeah, we have one supposed to be dropping Dec. 2018 and the next in March 2019, as far as the plan goes, anyways. But to the OP, I haven't heard a thing from anybody regarding any specifics of it yet.

  • Weird. All I've got since the reset are sweaty diehards who've spent the past 2 weeks de-ranking for this sweet moment in Prestige 3 clothes.

  • "... no one says you have to play against them."

Right. So give the Killer a definitive answer and clearly mark them as SWF so they can make that decision more accurately instead of having to assume before a match has even begun (a decision that will likely have to carry incentives, given the pre-loaded boons SWF itself gives the participating survivors). Bam... fixed.

  • Ahhh, yes. That wonderful time of the month when folks derank in order to strengthen their toxicity against weaker players. Good times, good times.

Rank system is broke AF with no fix in sight.

  • Ohhh, now, survivors aren't going anywhere. The gettin' is still too good and the water's fine.

  • Chasing a good survivor is key to learning where you need to improve in a chase. But if they got salty about their own shortcomings in that chase, they likely completely lost out on learning anything from it. That's not to say I haven't continued a chase out of frustration; I believe most of us have at one point or another.

Like when I skin my knuckles while working on my car and I yell at the car instead of myself for being a stubborn fool. I knew to use more penetrating oil (giggity) on that bolt, but I got flustered at it and just tried using brute force. Not the car's fault... it's just a car being a car, man. I was the proud goober, so it's my bad.

I got sidetracked. Life lessons and all that jazz.

  • This would indeed finally make LF a sought after choice, it's true.

[revs saw] "Call me Moses, ladies and gents... 'cause I'm partin' this sea!"

  • There's not enough time in a match to camp every survivor that does those in a single match. LoL

That being said, I keep a similar list and will toss the entire game to the wayside and tunnel/face-camp the bloody Hades out of bad offenders.

  • I can imagine 7 survivors making a conga line body blocking the hook or kneeling around you when you throw one on your shoulders, making a survivor wall all around ya'. Swarming a downed survivor to heal, would look like a scene out of a zombie movie. Flashlight brigade manning their battle stations. Would look like a bunch of fruit gnats swarming a rotted apple.

  • That's a great idea doing the video via YouTube link. Just added it to the report under additional information. We'll see if anything gets done about it... it and one from about 2 months ago still show "Open" with no new progress, so it seems most cheaters are home free. That D/C banning wave, though, now that's a priority, I guess :|

  • Both of those would be cool and all, but I'm still back here waiting on hatch shutting and DS fixes.

  • Matchmaking through ranks and ranking itself definitely needs looked at. I'm running Rank 11 on killer at the moment, myself, and nearly every match has pit me against one or two Rank 2-5s, then the rest 8-10. SWF got me by the short hairs like clockwork.

  • There are too many pallets and loops. It's entirely too easy for a survivor to escape a killer.
For any perk that increases the killer's walk/run/crab-walking speed, DS, or gives temporary invincibility, a certain number of pallets and loops should be removed.

We could go on but I hope you see the point.

  • I do this so much as Wraith when I just want to mess around a bit, explore and learn new parts of the maps and memorize areas that need improving on my part. Sometimes I'll chase some folks, maybe a hit here and there for some BP, but I think I have more fun just messing around in games like this with Wraith than bucking down and going full-throttle death crazy. It's a fun change of pace to receive one of these as a survivor, too.

  • I second both of you ^^^ Corn is survivor lifeblood and the swamp is an infinite maze of hidey holes and jungle gyms. Best pick 3 and hope for the best.

  • Holy crap... I thought I'd heard that melody somewhere before. I just went back and listened to the Shining theme. Definitely unmistakable!

  • Agreed. Unless you slug #3 to coax #4 out of hiding, may as well say "GG" and let them have the hatch. I loathe having to camp a hatch standoff for several minutes and would rather be doing something constructive... like sealing the hatch and continuing fair play. Dunno why this wasn't implemented after watching streams from the PTB show it working very well for both sides. Just seems logical to put it in by now.

  • Give you an idea of my game 2 nights ago as Wraith. Didn't tunnel anybody, just a straight playing trying to get Adept Wraith achievement with weak-as-a-popcorn-fart base perks. 3K and I let the last hatch as they had been hidden pretty well the entire game and I didn't have any perks to find them, so figured I'd get on to the next match and try again and be happy with my BPs. Well, before I could close chat and move on after the last guy hatched, his buddy I'd killed earlier hit a period in chat... so I figured, OK, what can I do for ya'? Well, he and his SWF buddy gave me the following: (SWF buddy is in Maroon, hatch player is in Yellow, and my responses are in Green).

Yes, this community is toxic, hateful trash, for sure. I'd like to think they were pre-teens up far past their bedtime, but from what I've seen in the past I'm not too sure about even that. Unfortunately, they didn't go on, and I reported them the moment after. Now the ticket is still showing "open," and who knows if anything will ever become of it. If Devs really wanted to ban for toxicity, they could... they just don't want to lose toxic players altogether as they know losing the sheer number of them would leave the company neutered. Screenshot, ignore, move on, report, and hope the devs lift a finger; it's about all we can do. Until then, try not to take the anger from one (or a set of) idiots in a prior game over into the next (harder than it sounds, I know).

  • Those comments are far from acceptable, and I report those w/screenshots in an instant. That being said, unless you were with the person with DS and a flashlight the entire time, it's hard to say how they were playing. If they were pallet-blinding repeatedly and teabagging along with DS... oh, I nip those in the bud, ASAP and hard, then make that hook stick plenty deep with no remorse. Same could be said for everybody else... unless you were with them the entire time, one can't say how they were playing. Not defending this creep in particular, as his comments alone condemn him, but rather saying a person doesn't see every detail happening in a match by others (and if we do, we're running a pretty tight-knight SWF which deserves its own level of hard play in turn at this point in the game). Toxicity breeds more toxicity, either side. The "f***" and "Nazi" comments should be ban-worthy, screenshot them and get their Gamertag or SteamID64, move on and report... the rest, I'm afraid, is just childish banter attempting to fertilize their own genitals and feel bigger and should be ignored. So much toxicity in this community.

  • Rather see reworks to the already existing low-tier ones to make them viable, but besides that: Anything BUT Ghostface or Chucky.

The above mentioned beasts from Feast would be awesome... that is a friggin' awesome movie (and crappy sequel)! And the Krampus idea is intriguing; love me some Krampus! I'd really be feeling The Krampusnacht Chapter!

  • You're definitely not alone. I ran about 20 or so matches on killer last night while trying to use up excess Pustula Petals, and of those about 5 of them began with my hex totem being taken out in the first 30 seconds (give or take).

Just an idea, but how about allowing killers to fix their totems? Sure, you'd have to run back to it after it's destroyed again, but the necessity of doing so would depend on each individual match (and hex type).

  • @Incarnate said:
I know, and the devs clearly don't understand what it does allowing gentapping!
    It's a gamebalance issue!

    *the devs clearly don't care.
    There... fixed that.

  • Always wondered this myself, seeing as Wraith starts in cloaked mode. I guess it does slow down speed slightly, but I instantly switch into it myself because I'm usually running an extended radius build and I'm looking for a survivor scream ASAP.

  • Heck, anything but laying stagnant at the top of the offerings lists forevermore would be welcomed. Bloodwebs ended up cornering me into buy wayyy more than I needed, and they're not like kits or flashlights that you can use in any way later. Hopefully they'll do something -- anything -- with them all after this is over.

  • Oh, there's definitely no reason they wouldn't be using them, for sure. I know but only a few who still have morals. When I play survivor, I've never once used SWF even with an invite as I feel the sheer nature of it detracts from the basis of the game (in before the folks screaming "the devs intended blah blah blah!"). It's not an attack on those who do, since there's no stopping it; it's just a personal preference. But I know a few people who play SWF who don't use voice. Kudos to them. To implement this would almost force them into going voice comm, no doubt.

Now, the killer in me says with my entire heart that implementing this should be common sense and a fair step forward, seeing as how devs have no intentions (or the ability, really) to handle the voice comms issue directly. They're definitely going to have to go around it somehow and just make it more level with the understanding that, most definitely, the vast majority of SWF are indeed using voice comms and that it unquestionably tilts the balance far beyond fair reach in favor of survivors and renders so many perks irrelevant. This idea does initially seem to be a sensible approach without skewing the lobby times that would come from opening a SWF-only queue (an alternative dev option).

It's definitely something that should be looked into. Although, as I do play survivor solo, I have to wonder how this would be implemented if I were to be sucked into a 2- or 3-man SWF game as the "bait" man. Would I also inadvertently find myself only allowed to use X number of perks alongside them thus leaving me unduly neutered perk-wise? Could they realistically apply this to only the SWF members themselves? Or would it take putting SWF into their own full queue anyways, which would bring us back to the bad queue lobby times?

Great idea, I just have to wonder about its implementation and if it could be realistically (and fairly, to lone survivors) applied.

  • On one hand, this would be fair. If SWF are using voice comms, then they're bypassing several essential perks already. I'm down with that.

On the other hand, this would lead any SWF who aren't using voice comms to definitely migrate over to doing so ASAP, so... I dunno.

  • Exactly my point, they had to have taken it into account... in a game where one of the main points is the characters being unable to vocally communicate. So it's obvious that they didn't care.

SWF itself never was an issue, it's the unregulated ability to voice comm which -- inarguably -- puts the killer at a severe disadvantage and renders a large majority of perks worthless on the killer side and unnecessary on the survivor side that's so sickening. Well, that and groups being able to bring ranks far above/below the killer's current rank, too, neutering the entire ranking system, as well, but that's for a whole 'nother post.

  • Hard to believe they didn't take into account folks using voice comms when the idea of SWF was floated around... but here we are, waist deep in BS.
