The most volatile, toxic and horribly constructed event in this game's history.
-
And when you DO eventually get one, the ping is in the 350+ range. Matchmaking changes have been a pretty good job so far!
-
Not even remotely worth the trouble.
-
Agreed. This is insanity. Maybe I'm just getting unlucky games, but this is brutal. I just had a teammate point me out in a locker to a Nurse before she downed him because I had a vessel. LoL On survivor, I'm more scared of the other survivors than the killer right now (except the killers who have deranked and stockpiled waiting on this day), and on killer I'm just more scared of... well, playing killer during an event (as is normal).
I'll take some cosmetics from whatever I gather from doing gens, and grab a vessel if I see it, but I don't even want the cosmetics... I just want to grind BPs. Even that is like pulling teeth right now.
Like I said, maybe I'm just getting bad games back-to-back-to-back (and on and on), but I can't help but feel the tonality of this is widespread right now.
-
I should add that the level of anti-altruism I've already witnessed from fellow survivors tops anything I've seen since release, no question in my mind. If you get hooked and they're on gens... go ahead and give up and move on to the next game. You're gonna' die. I'm in absolute awe.
-
3 matches in so far. 2 were back-to-back basement Bubbas and this last one was a Spirit using an Ebony Mori and NOED. Honestly, from first impressions, this looks like one of those events where you just want to play the game normally and don't get too much into it lest you rage quit and put a fist through your monitor. The hate sweat is real so far. Since I don't normally play any of the characters with cosmetics available, I'll just keep doing what I normally do or slack off a bit until it's over.

-
"Myers = DC," and in the same match somebody else with the name "Mori Me Myers."
So they did, and I did.
It's a curse... I'm a people pleaser.
-
If you suspect a person is running Discordance (not that many do... but if you're teaming a gen and the killer comes out of left field right for you a couple times in a row on multiple gens, you can pretty much rest easy knowing it's in play), 2 teammates tap the same gen for a second, then split off to do other gens. If the killer is pretty far off, this can buy quite a bit of time. Until they figure out their perk is doing them harm, you can pretty much run the field by using it against them (either bouncing to opposite ends or keeping the killer at one end while the other end is told to finish off their side of the map). The higher the tier of Discordance you have, the longer it takes for you to realize you've just been had by a diversion. That perk gets worse as the tiers go up.
-
I like how far right is Matthew Lillard and proud of it, apparently.
-
I finished P3 on Jeff about 2 weeks ago. About 15x over the P3 level 50 on him, and I seriously only have 3 perks at Tier 3 as far as decent perks that could make any of the builds I want. I haven't even gotten Urban Evasion on Tier 1 yet. This grind is far worse than normal. I have to wonder if I just have horrid luck or if decent perks are just harder to come by after prestiging (plus the additional BP cost of all the rare + items). It's outright painful. Having to farm with Claudette just to keep trying to make a P3 lvl 50 character viable is questionable. It almost makes me want to go back to killer main for a bit (almost... not quite that desperate yet).
-
I don't think I've ever had trouble hiding behind a gen, finding a locker, or running into appropriate range to nullify BBQ & Chili. And when I play killer, it's obvious that vast majority of others don't have a problem doing the same. All it has left is the bonus bloodpoints; enough damage has been done to it already.
-
"Salt was such a valuable commodity that people would trade a pound of gold for a pound of salt. Mali is famous for its salt mines."
These jokes write themselves, folks.
-
I'm getting the same on PC. My internet's the fastest tier offered by my company and works fine, so I know it's not that. Pallets, unhooks, vaults... it's as if the old timing of his shock isn't the same or it's just flat-out broken anymore.
-
~ sigh ~
9th of the evening...

-
I'm my 8th one of the evening. Spending more time in Task Manager than in the game anymore, it seems.
-
Game not freezing up during loading screens at least once every 5 or 6 matches and having to force quit it. Seriously. Broke AF.
-
And this is also why solo survivor is currently on the same frustration level as playing as Freddy or Legion. You end up getting farmed from both sides and your SWF "team mates" usually split rank and end up matching you with a higher ranked Killer. Then, as Killer, you can easily and quickly tell you're up against a SWF and have to assume everybody is going to be toxic and sweaty while adjusting their own gameplay accordingly. Can't blame them... that's how I play on Killer, too; you have to.

Lol, yellow guy feeling they deserve to farm.Don't they always? There was more said I didn't catch in the screenshot, for sure. Could tell the Killer was being nourished by the salt. I was just laughing it off and in shock that matchmaking did that, honestly. Looka' those add-ons, too; that Trapper came to murder. One went down and it snowballed quick, fast, and in a hurry. Pretty good job so far!
-
I've got no explanation for this one I was in last night while doing a Dwight daily solo. This was on PC, too. That Trapper was hardcore blood-thirsty and destroyed us entirely with extreme prejudice.

-
If that killer took down 3 folks and only let 2 gens get finished, they've earned that hatch grab just as much as the remaining survivor earned that hatch escape. So long as the hatch mechanic remains "a thing," hatch grabs need to remain "a thing." Always remember, survivor currently has the upper hand in nearly every single hatch stand-off.
-
That they gave any semblance of musculature to Dwight in that Bike Messenger Cosmetic banner is hilarious. That aside, these are some good looking cosmetics for some of the more oft-ignored characters in general.
-
Toss-up between Fengs and Dwights... both tend to be toxic incarnate in my trials with an astonishing ratio; seeing either with flashlight usually means endless pallet blinding incoming, so out comes Franklin's Demise. Neon-Head Nea pulls a close 3rd place, though, tied with P3 Quentins, who are also typically overflowing with toxic sludge. The Lauries I face tend to all pack DS and try really hard, but are typically easy to catch up to and down again afterwards, presumably from relying on crutch tactics for too long. Claudettes I've not really had issues with, besides initially finding due to standard immersion; once spotted, most tend to run blindly past loops out into the open scampering for tall grass somewhere to kneel in. Your mileage may vary.
-
Wait a minute, I thought the current common stream of consciousness regarding BBQ & C during this latest nerf was survivors poking fun at killers who say they only use the perk for the BP gain and not for the (already broken before now due to hiding behind gens or rushing within range) aura reading, and calling them liars regarding it... now it's being used on offense to justify survivor BP boosts because "most killers use BBC & C for the BP boost," since with most games these days, if a killer doesn't use it they just get around the same amount (maybe slightly more) of BP as survivors for 4x the effort?
Which is it, then? Killers actually using it for BP gains or not? Pick a stance.
Back on topic, I'd love to get a BP boost against SWF, but it really does nothing to address any of the problems SWF currently brings to breaking the game. I'm not sure if it would end up tilting the killer-vs-survivor ratio in any way, since matchmaking henceforth is making sure one doesn't know if they're facing a SWF until the match begins, but a BP boost for facing them won't really "fix" anything.
Still, it may be a nice incentive and "participation trophy" until the devs actually see fit to address the elephant in the room.
-
Oh, don't you worry, there are plenty of hOchi piDo clones left out there who got the taste of it and now simply have to play as such; they know of no other way to play. And the devs have tended to just give them even more tools to do so as a side effect of trying to level the game out for newer, less-skilled survivors who were admittedly having a rough go of it. Balance for the new, OP bully tools for the sweat shops.
That being said, I've been on the receiving end of a fair amount of toxic killers, as well. The difference seems to be the killers often do it as a means to an end (something that would appear toxic, except it's typically used in order to reach the trial's goal), while the toxic survivors tend to be toxic for toxicity sake (being toxic aside from, and after, reaching the goal).

@Keene_Kills It’s an exploit when they’re purposefully using it to their advantage knowing the bug is there.Frame rates dropping equals lag, lag that equals to unfair hits.
I've truly not had noticeable lag or frame rates dropping from it at all, and my rig is fairly outdated by today's standards. I get that some folks are saying it's lagging them, but I'm just not seeing it (not had anybody in my matches mention lagging whatsoever, either... just that it's annoying as all get out). And definitely haven't heard of it actually causing a total game crash. Are you on console, perhaps? The trend has been that even farting wrong while playing on console makes DBD lag and the other posts I've seen mentioning it elsewhere have all been regarding PS4. If so, I hope they patch the other 314 things that cause lag spikes on console soon. The patch was a buttered-up disaster in general and there's plenty in it that needs addressed across all platforms, especially regarding the "upgraded" base graphics.
-
Wasn't aware it was happening with other killers, too. Could just be that the other killers I'm going up against aren't using Sloppy Butcher. I like to use it on Wraith along with NC to sneak up where they hang out at pallets and heal, then come around the tall wall and crack them before they can react and get the pallet down... gives that extra time for NC to pick them up when tracking.
Hope they fix it soon, though. It can be quite annoying.
-
The killer doesn't see this continual blood geyser... at least I haven't seen it in the trial when survivors brought it up afterwards. I get the same response when playing survivor and experiencing it and discussing it with the Wraith I was up against. Certainly not an "exploit." That being said, it is fairly annoying and needs dev attention.
-
I like Jeff's and will probably grab it, but I absolutely love Jake's... I can't stop chuckling at it.
-
Legion's the only killer who can honestly make any use of it, anyways, so buff the hell outta' it... please. All it does at the moment is let survivors mess with Legion even worse than normal once they know they're playing against them. Dual tap a gen, then spread out and go back to doing your gens far enough away from each other that Frenzy won't reach multiple survivors. It's bad when even Legion's own perks work against them.
-
I'm not either, honestly. Yellows and greens mostly... purple mist lol. Maybe we just both have bad luck, or maybe things aren't as plentiful as folks let on... who can say?
-
I hope they DO consider it an exploit and fix it somehow. It's not fun to have to do it, it's not fun to have it done to you... it's just a temporary workaround for a piss-poor mechanic that folks have adapted to having to do in order to make this killer even somewhat functional. But I hope they look at the root cause of why folks are having to "moonwalk" and address Legion's inadequacies, not just take away the only viable tactic the killer has at the moment and leave them hanging in a Freddy-like stasis.
Folks playing Legion: "Man, this killer sucks..."
Those playing against Legion: "HaR hAr yOu SuCk! AdApT LuL!"
Folks playing Legion: * actually find a way to adapt, cheese and all *
Devs: "NoOoO nOt LiKe ThAt!"If the devs had worked on Legion before release post-PTB by taking into account the massive amount of feedback given by everybody during the PTB, folks wouldn't have to be pulling such a silly and annoying half-arsed stunt just to make them feel semi-viable. And since they've made clear that they've no intention of "rushing" out fixes and patches to fix broken killers (ala Spirit), "moonwalking" will likely continue for a good long while yet, because that's what one has to do. Plain as that. You wanted folks to adapt... well, there it is.
-
Just happened to find one while doing a Jeff daily up against a straight-up face-camping LF. Was able to get the unhook because of it. It was absolutely fantastic; I see now why folks are loving 'em.
That being said, on killer, if you see the animation of that arm moving, just side-step it and keep charging, deal with the second-hand deafening, or simply look up if you have a survivor shouldered. Not sure if folks just haven't used them at the right time on me and they're actually unavoidable if used right or if the looking away is the actual counter, but it's worked for me every time thus far since I caught on.
Also, accidentally using one can be hazardous to your stealth health.

Petition to rename "Deep Wounds" to "Paper Cut," since we're all about clarification now.
-
Don't understand why they don't implement the same mentality as the devs did to deter campers: If after a sufficient time frame has passed with both gates opened, let the survivors still on the map running around farming begin losing points in Evader and/or Lightbringer emblem points. For those that don't care much about ranking (as most on either side don't, being there's no use in ranking up), let camping killers without a survivor in close range and farming survivors toying around post-gates begin losing blood point totals overall gained throughout the match by a set percentage per time interval continued (like an anti-BBQ & Chili or anti-WGLF, same concept but reversed to divide instead of multiply)... bet that would put both situations at rest quick, fast, and in a hurry. Ranking nobody cares about... but BP? Yeah, boy.
-
It really is my favorite cosmetic to date. Those bellybutton maggots, though...!
-
Surprised those firecrackers even light with all the sweat on them.
-
Done. I'd love to see Leatherface get a rework and be the fear-mongering terror he should be. Hope more folks take this truthfully and you're able to convince devs into actually taking action on my favorite slasher of all time.
-
Seems legit. Spatula would do the same damage as the survival knife.

Map that's pretty neat... but then turns out it's bugged as all hell and they have to take it down (a snow map, through the Christmas holiday, go figure) to work on it so you can't use it.
A thicc unit heavy metal Jesus survivor who comes equipped with with an aura reading-destruction perk and an instant sabotage perk just for messing up and getting caught.
A "killer" who's the equivalent of a survivor main's participation trophy.
Along with a patch that nerfs aura reading further, offers ear-deafening audio, loading screen freezes and other assorted bugs and whistles.
I give the chapter a solid 3 for half-assed effort.
-
So. Many. Insta-blinds...
-
I can confirm that they will instantly make you drop a survivor from your shoulder, too... very big PITA.
-
I agree that re-working every single killer individually to be made more viable overall (specifically against gen-rush situations) is the best way to go, but I honestly don't see the devs putting that much time and effort into actually fixing the core problem. Since I don't see them touching the current time to actually fix gens, either, I couldn't fathom what they expect to do... if anything at this point, because the survivor base appears happy at the moment with gen times, so, yeah, probably not getting addressed period.
-
It's a shame one has to spend so much time sandbagging and de-ranking just to be able to play this game. People will continue to forcefully de-rank so long as this system remains in place. You can't get games at high ranks, and on Killer if you want to try to get an Adept achievement or try out killers you normally don't play, you have to de-rank to have a chance. Survivor side forcefully de-ranks to bully. These things won't go away until everything receives a total rework. The rank system is what currently sets the bar over any matchmaking fixes they try to implement. The rank system had been in need of a complete overhaul since day one since it's long been obvious that the band-aid treatment isn't working.
-
Choosing Freddy.
-
Doc's or Spirit's DC rates aren't under the proverbial microscope at the moment, though... Legion's, at this crucial point in time, most certainly is. We've already seen what feedback is taken into account compared to stats like DC rates. And now that the "moonwalk exploit" is pretty much common knowledge... well, it's not looking good for the Little Rascals.
-
Same. I'm noticing scratch marks while in a direct line-of-sight chase, survivor in constant running, where patches of scratch marks just don't appear and sometimes head off to the side. It's definitely a thing.
And the audio? Oh, man.
-
Just had a match on PC where the survivors mentioned this happening in the after-match chat. I couldn't see it as killer, oddly enough. Was running Sloppy Butcher though, so there's definitely a correlation.
-
And even terror radius-expanding perks are really worthless, as by the time you tag one and another shows in that extended TR, you're frenzy isn't going to last long enough to remotely catch up to them. You'll fatigue, the newly exposed survivor will have hidden, and the original survivor will have already mended Derp Deep Wound. You'll have wasted about 30-45 seconds total, and had nothing to show for it (except a gen at the other end of the map finishing). Everybody already knows how to counter Legion. Perk synergy is a major problem them, but that's just the tip of the iceberg for what ails him/her/it. Everybody already knows how to counter Legion's play, not even add-ons can ease the burdens, easily looped, easy to lose in a chase (just wait out the fatigue), Derp Deep Wounds in general, the list is almighty and long.
-
For the record, "Deep Wound" is the biggest downfall of Legion, of this chapter, and of the entire game at the moment after being attached to Borrowed Time. It's absolutely worthless, not a threat whatsoever, and only wastes about 15 seconds give or take. There's no use in tagging multiple survivors, as by the time you catch up and hit a 2nd or 3rd one, the fatigue wears off, and you begin a pursuit, the first (and/or second) tagged survivor has already mended and got right back on that gen. Deep Wounds needs looked at and reevaluated in the worst way right now.
