  • It's sorely screwed up... don't care who puts a video out on using it "properly." I swear I'm starting to think there's a luck-based modifier to it, as I've used it in a build since day 1 of its release and it feels so hit-or-miss in almost entirely duplicate circumstances that it can't be 100% guaranteed hits in a certain range (or either -- most likely -- it's just bugged AF).

  • Or at least make it to where you have to just hold the assigned button.

1.) It wears out keyboards/controllers prematurely; 2.) It's prone to messing up due to lag spikes; 3.) There's nothing skill-based about it.

Hell, I'd prefer hanging there with a button held while completing skill-checks to having to wear down a single button to the nubs.

  • If I didn't need BP built up for Ash's release Tuesday, man... Think I'm just going to play straight-up goofy until they fix this nonsense so I don't end up raging and putting my boot through the monitor out of frustration. This is nonsense, man.

  • Still going strong today! Woohoo! VS a Rank 2 Nurse this time. Entered the match with only 3 survivors, the Rank 6 went down almost instantly and DC'ed. Rank 12 went down, I unhooked and took the brunt. They ran off while she hooked me. She went after them and downed them. I miraculously Kobe'd as she zipped back and downed me again the moment my feet hit the ground. On a good note, I wasn't expecting Infectious Fright and that sent me for a bit of a loop... so at least that was a refreshing change of pace in this 2 min. game. GG.

Pretty good... job so far! #Hex:Matchmaking

  • Hex: Wig Snatch. Can't be havin' this on Jane, devs!

Absolutely in love with Jane and her thiccy-iccy-icciness. Not a fan of the bun, but love her hair let down. Need some more hair options later on down the line, and I won't argue with any new cosmetics that continue to embrace her... assets.

  • I've never seen it worse in the two years I've played. Currently on PC in the eastern US, usually play at different times between 5PM-10PM and on days off work I'll sometimes play mornings into afternoon. It's absolute hell right now. Survivor matches taking anywhere between 3-10 mins., majority of games loading with 3 survivors, at least one hard DC, getting a lobby with 300+ ping, or most often just mismatched ranks. Killer games are taking anywhere between 10-30 mins. to get and I usually just give up on it by then.

  • IMO, folks are just tired of matches being aggravating due to everything aside from balance. Copious amounts of disconnects for silly reasons, trials still starting with 3 survivors with loading lock-ups, brown/green ranks getting paired with red ranks, having to look for lobbies for 10-30 mins. just to load into a 300+ ping match so you have to begin the wait all over again... the gameplay balance at the moment isn't too far off, it's just that nobody can get to a decent match to even play a regular game. It's not fun playing lobby simulator just to end up in an uneven match for anybody, killer or survivor. Not so much protesting as it is "well, this sucks" and logging off.

  • OK, gave up on trying to find a game as killer and went back to survivor. This one wasn't AS bad, but still... think I'm done for the day.

  • Can't speak from killer experience, as I'm going on just a bit over 15 mins. currently waiting on a lobby to form right now with no success yet, but definitely on survivor I can attest to it being screwier than a rabid carpenter on a hit of ecstasy.

  • I played a pretty good amount last night and today, so the pool is large, but so far I've had about 9 or so games with ranked matchmaking like this. That's more than I'd experience in a week or more of mis-matched rank trials either before the matchmaking changes were announced or during the implementation of changes. And none of these appear to be happening due to SWF-induced rank disparities, either... just bad pairing in general.

Sure, rank doesn't matter every time, but it sure matters sometimes... especially when paired with 'taters on solo survivor, dying on first hook after trying to save somebody who DC'ed on the hook (who DCs on the friggin 'hook... just suicide if you're that hot and bothered). But that's neither here nor there. Point being this: Matchmaking is allll out of whack.

Maybe I'm just having unfathomably bad luck with it, but it feels too abundant in its current occurrence to be coincidental.

  • Aye. It's just happening even more so now.

    Just happened again...

    Still Screwy.jpg

  • Dunno. I'll let you know when I actually get a game that doesn't load with 3 ppl. Should be back to 15 by then and starting fresh.

  • Took a break for a week or so before Demise's release after getting frustrated with the overall game. Figured I was just burnt out a bit. Came back, and even more DC's than usual; more games starting with 3 survivors, and/or both sides' folks rage-quitting the moment they get shouldered or the gates get powered. Getting slugged, camped, tunneled, and funneled into oblivion right off the bat as solo survivor, getting much stronger and plentiful SWF than before on killer. Screwy match-making getting lobbies with 300+ ping for double-digit games in a row or either getting paired up via the SWF workaround with folks way out of rank.

It's as if all the bad things just intensified. Less than a week back and already wanting another break, and I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment. That's not a good sign for sustainability.

  • SWF need a patsy. It's the game's version of switching difficulty to Hard Mode.

  • If it ain't Henrietta, it needs to GTFO here!

  • So, I just read somewhere that this was only showing on PS4 KYF... can anybody confirm or deny? If so, could that mean Ash would be a PS4-exclusive, like Bill was on PC? If so, that would suck mightily... serious suckage.

  • Past 11 lobbies I've tried right now have all had ping of 350+. I dunno what they're doing, but they need to unf**k it quick, fast, and in a hurry.

    *Update* 12 lobbies now...

  • They nerfed it after hearing certain streamers bemoaning it in chases. I have to assume it was a rushed mess that they didn't even think through, as the placement of certain crows just nullify its usefulness completely now. They should rework crow placement if they plan on keeping it this way.

  • Solo survivor is just as frustrating as playing killer anymore so I'm taking a break for a bit. Haven't had a fun game in the past 2 or 3 months on killer or survivor, honestly. If one's not having fun, it's no longer a game... it's a chore.

  • Currently, a 3 or 4.

If they can fix the healing factor of the pools, a 6 or 7.

  • It's available now. 2.2GB

  • *looks at clock*

*looks at no beta availability in Steam yet*

*died in antici... ... ... pation*

  • I'm more concerned about rage quitting survivors' effect on the new Devout changes.

  • I agree fully here. The sheer number of DCs one experiences in one night alone will definitely be enough to take a toll given these new requirements. This is definitely something I hope they reconsider and restructure; it's not a good call.

  • Yeah, mutually disappointed to see these top issues ignored once again. I guess here's to looking towards mid-chapter patch with hope... again.

  • I can't help but feel BHVR have a ranking incentive plan in place coming soon. There's no other reasoning behind making ranking up (and staying there) more difficult now... I mean, besides the moaning from folks about having idiots get to red ranks so easily. Meh, on second thought, probably just a response to the moaning... but I can hope.

  • Beans... chilli... barbecue... Leatherface rework!

But also, beans get the digestion system rolling... crap... Leatherface rework is crap already!

And we're back at square one.

  • Refers to "spilling the #beans."

  • What's going to suck is, not only do you see her vomit on you... but then you as a survivor run around vomiting until you cleanse. I definitely feel for you and wish you luck in overcoming this.

If it launches and you find yourself unable to cope with it, I'd have to second the initial recommendation to take up Killer as main and steer clear entirely.

  • Daddy's new thicc snack with that mad locker bullrush!

    So. Many. DCs. So many.

    Both killers and survivors.

It's true. Survivors DC before the match loads or the moment they get caught/go down before getting a gen done, and Killer will DC upon loading in or the moment that last gen pops. At least 3 out of 5 games through this entire event, no exaggeration, at least one of these scenarios have transpired in my games. Douchery free-for-all.

  • So. Many. DCs. So many.

  • 3.48 and it's still as worthless as the day it was introduced.

  • Although I'd agree with the idea of having cosmetics available only for purchase or earnable during the duration of a specific event, your ability to come off as an absolute **** while trying to convey that idea only flushes it straight down the crapper in most folks' eyes. Somebody pops in here with a legitimate argument as to why they should be available otherwise and you blow up like you're two nuts short of a handy. Doesn't sell very well.

  • Had to go to Urban Dictionary to get hip enough to make sense of this.

  • The squeaky wheel gets greased (eventually... unless the owner just ignores it until it breaks).

  • It's the nature of the event, man. Folks should know by now that this is the new law of the land until this dumpster fire is put out come Valentine's.

  • The only decent part was Big Boi's 45 seconds. Everything else was Levine singing off-key and weird nipples.

"Sweet, Sweet Victory" would've saved that entire 4 hrs of wasted life.

  • I gotta' agree... Hallowed Blight was better in every way, shape, and form. I got half of my vials on killer, half on survivor, fairly early into the event and actually had fun doing so. Sure, it was a little bit of a grind, but it didn't make me hate the game. This grind is unbearable for the necessary amount of coins to get even 2 -- much less a 3rd -- full cosmetic sets, the cosmetics themselves are fairly lackluster, fellow survivors are full-on cut-throat shady, and killers who feel shafted are turning to mori-lust.

On killer, it's been boringly easy to get a kill on the first hook because survivors aren't remotely worried about trying to be altruistic and risk losing a precious vessel... that's when you do get a hook and folks don't D/C the moment you down them, because they know nobody is going to help them. On survivor, I spend more time avoiding other survivors since I've been pointed at, ratted out, and had killers run directly at me to pawn them off by others so much that they're even more dangerous than the killers. Moonrise is friggin' DBD Twilight Zone, man.

  • Agreed. My P3 Bubba had way more rares and ultra-rares through the first phase than either of the others. Now he's sitting lifeless, since he's so add-on dependent and I feel I've misplaced wayyy too much time and BP on him already. Likewise with Freddy.

P3 on Jeff feels like I've seen way more greens this last time through, and what purples I've seen are the ones I don't want (and usually the entity ends up cornering you into taking them, anyway).

Overall, the clothes are nice and all... but I feel the point of it is mostly to put more costly add-ons in your way so it takes you more time and BP to get them back to playable perk conditions than it is to provide you with a larger assortment of better add-ons in general.

    TL;DR: Doesn't feel worth it.

  • Sounds fair to me. Except they'd have to lower the coin requirements down... way down. Given the BP grind just for offerings and the rarity of them in webs during this dumpster fire event... way, way, way down. Nope, lower. Keep going... more. Lower. Yeahhh, that's the spot.

    Sorry. Carried away.

  • I truly hope they give your idea a thorough look and fair consideration... I really believe it could bring something fresh and exciting to the current game.

  • FINISH HIM... Taint-ality.

  • I love the idea of survivors being able to infect other survivors through altruism. Provides a simple concept, and a viable means which to counter-play the power.

Infecting the hooks may be a bit too time consuming for the killer and only really allow usage of the power after an initial hook (even the possible spreading to others). Perhaps change the initialization of the power to an M2 attack (a slow, non-lunging attack) that needs time to recharge (fester) so it can't be spammable. And if the infected touches a gen, chest, hook, vault before curing themselves/being cured, that seems like it should also have a chance to infect others who would likewise touch those surfaces.

This feels like it could be put to good use in a Plague Doctor or Patient Zero scenario. Overall, I love the general idea and think the spreading concept could really provide a fresh variation to overall gameplay (and it would definitely make folks trigger-happy with We're Gonna Live Forever think twice before rushing for a hook save before grabbing a cure first).

  • Clown's bottles are still randomly disappearing into some distant realm upon release, as well.

  • Damn them for taking away the LOL response.

If you kept a straight face while posting this, you deserve an Oscar nod.

  • Honestly, if this is the best they can whip out, BVHR should maybe look into not doing special events anymore. Keep the sparse BP events as they have been, maybe cosmetic map changes as a nod to a given holiday or season, but all the "specialty" events just tend to absolutely ruin the general playing experience for both sides (especially since the cosmetics can be bought, anyway, rendering their exclusivity null). I don't even want a single cosmetic from this event, yet I'm stuck trudging through its knee-deep bullshittery just to continue the BP grind as normal. Cut-throat teammates more lethal than any killer while on survivor, and shafted point gains as killer... playing either side just makes one want to bite a curb, or at least take a breather.

  • Seeing a mean uptick in tunneling/mori killers, too. Survivor teammates are being even worse; had quite a few fellow teammates point out my location upon being found, as well. Everybody is just being generally horrid... killers, survivors, the entire game in general is a straight dumpster fire right now.

  • Running solo survivor, I wholeheartedly agree. Hallowed Blight may have been warm garbage, but Moonrise is a flaming dumpster fire.
