My idea for monstrous shrine would be that it gives bonus points for hooks/sacrifices and injures survivors that unhook.
This would turn this perk into a solid choice and buff territorial imperative.

I like this idea but isn't that basically Make Your Choice? I can't see myself choosing this over Make Your Choice since we are talking exposed/injured at only the basement vs the entire map.

  • Uh nothing. As a killer there's way to many audio ques for finding survivors. Even if I am casually grinding BPs like I often do, you are purposely handicapping your trials by playing music over the game.

  • I let survivors farm as much as they want if there are 3 or more players. I have survivors who are super grateful and do the "point" emote to the hook pretty often. I never kill them because I try to avoid double pips like the plague though.

  • Because Freddy sucks. Every aspect of him sucks. You'd think since he's in a dream he could run around a little faster or see super clearly or something. But no, it's dark, cloudy and survivors instantly wake up. If you're a good M1 killer, you might make Freddy a below average killer and that's why Freddy sucks.

  • Its not that red ranks are hard as a killer, it's that survivors are more experienced and know where literally every pallet and every infinite is. That's what I run into anyways, lower ranks chases are more fun. Higher ranks it's more about mind games and avoiding pallets/infinites. Honestly, I find red ranks a little boring.

  • Hell yea they're OP, that's why they're Ultra Rare add-ons. They're supposed to be OP. We can't sit here and act like survivors don't have just as obnoxious ultra-rares. Every killer should get sick ultra-rares like these TBH.

  • Speaking as someone sitting currently on 200 hours, no. And not just no, hell no. The grind is insane in this game. I haven't "completed" (grind out all perks) a single char yet. The prestige system isn't even legit. You can grind out prestige 3 on one character faster than you can get all your perks for that one killer. You'll see very quickly why prestige isn't worth it. I'm sitting on 17 Iridescent hatchets on Huntress right now and I still don't have Ruin II yet.

My recommendation to you if you're one of those people that care about pixels, grind prestige 3 out before you grind the perks out.

  • I mean I just disagree. Killer is supposed to have the element of surprise. How is a killer supposed to do that if a SWF with toolboxes pops in and a killer suits up for a "casual" trial? Seeing the lobby helps me decide if I wanna use mori (looking at you streamers), Franklin's demise, a killer I'm bad with or a killer I'm good with. If I see what appears to be a solo survivors super casually equipped, I'm not gonna waste moris or good addons on them or try to play super sweaty or anything. Sometimes I just wanna blow streamers/puddings and casually play. Vis versa if they are heavily equipped.

STOP PLAYING DBD and start to playing nurse. Its a complete diferent game. In my case i got rank 1 with a nurse...but when i try a diferent killer (any) cant pass the rank 8.

No offense man but if this is true, you should really start playing bad killers like Freddy, LF or Pig because it sounds like you are using Nurse as a crutch. Using the weaker killers will improve your playstyle big time. Getting below rank 8 is not hard at all. I find it almost impossible to depip on killer. Once you are more experienced with normal killer mechanics, your overall gaming experience and knowledge of looping/mind games will significantly improve and you'd probably be a God-tier Nurse.

  • Freddy is good if you are patient, don't care about getting kills and aren't easily frustrated otherwise I don't recommend playing him. He's an incredibly frustrating killer to play. People that claim he are good are just full of ****. He's terrible compared to every other killer.

The only time I recommend playing him is when you have Ruin, BBQ and sloppy butcher on him and are just trying to burn puddings or something. Slap on another ability of your choice, some recommendations are: nurses calling, make your choice, NOED etc.

You really have to have knowledge of loops, specifically, infinite loops. My tactic with him is you have to play a little scatter brained. You want to slow the game down as much as possible. Dream every survivor you see and slap a survivor at least once. If they burn an exhaustion perk, looping you or run to an infinite change targets immediately. Rinse and repeat until you burn through enough pallets. Also, don't be afraid to tunnel easy survivor targets. If survivors lose to a Freddy, they have no excuse to cry at the end of the game.

With the above tactic I was able to get down to about Rank 6 before I just got tired of Freddy and couldn't stand to play him anymore. I'm sure I could have pushed it further, but compared to other killers he's just so freaking frustrating to play. Props to rank 1 freddy's out there. You guys have the patience of saints.

  • I have a base kit for all my killers:
    1.) BBQ
    2.) Ruin

From there, each killer is set up different depending on their abilities.

"run and gun" loopable killers like Billy, LF, Pig I use:

    Enduring/Bamboozle/Spirit Fury/Make your choice

For the speciality killers like hag/nurse/clown/huntress I'll use whatever else, maybe a combination of above, or nurses calling, sloppy butcher.

  • DS:

I don't mind the perk itself rather the impact it has on the game. I don't mind it so much if one person in the trial runs it, but when 2,3 or 4 people are running it, it becomes a little ridiculous. The trial already is completed fast enough and DS makes a hook take even longer which is devastating for a killer.

I think a fair change to it is it can only be used after you've been hooked once or twice. The killer likely will know you have it, he can camp you if he chooses and there's effectively a yin and yang to this ability. Right now it's out of control.

  • @DarkWo1f997 said:
    Tunneling doesn’t exist.

Yea tunneling certainly does exist. It's a legit tactic survivor strongly dislike though. Sometimes survivor's teammate force a killer to tunnel by unhooking their teammates when the killer is near. Sometimes killer's are forced to tunnel because generators are being completed too quick. Sometimes killers tunnel just because they like to tunnel. The bottom line is 3 survivors is much easier to deal with than 4.

If survivor's don't like it, well, sorry about your bad luck I don't like you doing generators so I guess we are even. Your teammates should unhook you when I'm not even 20 meters away. Lol, what do you want me to do, purposely skip the injured guy to avoid being called names and potentially lose?

  • Pretty sure the devs have stated multiple times hits like this are caused by lag. On the killer's screen you are not seeing him swinging in the air at the wall, he's swinging at the survivor. The lag causes you to be farther away than you appear and it gives the illusion it was a B.S. hit. One of the reasons I quit playing COD on console.

Don't get me wrong, it was unfair the way it was, but i think it wouldn't be too much to ask for proper hitboxes.
I know i know, latency. That's why i want dedicated servers so bad.

I agree with this 100%. The problem with the post-patch nerf to huntress was it made the survivor's hit boxes too small (hatchets flying through survivors) and didn't fix any other hitbox in the game, like the walls or huge gaps in between objects hatchets can't fly through. It was a terrible change. Like, a pure malicious, lazy change. I have half a feeling one of the devs hopped on survivor prior to the patch, got wrecked by a huntress and was like, "oh no, I'm definitely changing this." Probably the reason for the quick hot fix.

  • @Vietfox said:
Will they hit me again when missed by 1 meter away from my head? Yay, finally!

Yes, and they will continue to miss when they hit the imaginary wall hit boxes as well.

  • @megaweenieman said:

Oh yeah of course cuz rank 5 is so noob right I forgot..

Yea now I'm convinced you're trolling. You get rank 5 accidentally by grinding BPs on any killer. It's not hard to get rank 5 and using that to put yourself on a pedestal as a sign of "I'm good I know what I'm talking about" just isn't a valid argument.

  • @skynight said:
. It makes me wonder what other options the survivor has to escape the chase and actually evade the killer after a chase has begun.

    >

Urban Evasion, Lithe, Balanced Landing, Devisive Strike, team mates body blocking, team mates using flash light, dance with me, dead hard, iron will, light weight, quick and quiet, sprint burst and also under the right circumstances tenacity, unbreakable, adrenaline and hope work too.

  • @megaweenieman said:

Thanks bro pretty proud of it. You play?

Yea that's pretty obvious when you declared, "I'm a rank 5 killer!!!!". The fact that you proudly brag that you are a rank 5 killer just shows either: how bad you are or how new you are.

I mean that's cool. Everyone starts sometime. The reason I'm picking on you is because you're so yellow and are so quick to tell other better and experienced killers than you they are bad.

  • Is it weird to say I don't really main anyone? I switch between everyone and play all the killers. If I just play Billy over and over, I just get bored. I have to switch. It's probably easier to name off the killers I don't play: hag, trapper and nurse.

  • post on the forums with a Nurse avatar
hey gaiz, u is bad if u camp or tunnelz

    /slow clap

Oh jeez guys. Watch out, he's _RANK 5_! He really knows his stuff. Don't mess with dude.

  • You know, when I first started this game and I had <30 hours as killer, I use to hate SWFs that brought high ranking teammates into the round. I use to get bullied, looped for days, gen rushed and pretty much 0K those rounds with the exception of sometimes killing the low ranking teammates.

I'm still not saying it doesn't suck for new killers to face these types of SWFs, because it definitely does. It takes a lot of the fun out of it especially when you jump out of the 15->20 baby bracket. On the flipside, facing survivors with half a brain and decent perks really helped me improve as killer. At one point, a "killer switch" just flipped and I started to actually do decent and learned to mind game survivors. I was able to easily soar to rank 1 thanks to these improvements over time.

I know it's not the salt you are looking for, but hang in there it does get better.

  • @xxaggieboyxx said:
I don't understand. Is it a joke about only swinging and no hatchet throwing? Because if so... lol

Yes. One mouse button - M1. No M2.

  • I'd like to see Hex perks reworked to something for viable for killer. At the very minimum a smarter totem than right in the middle of a field or 4 feet away from a survivor's spawn point.

Also, would it be too much to ask for different perks with BP bonuses attached to them? I'm just so sick of running BBQ every round.

  • MM for sure. Only killer that makes me scream IRL. It's so freaky and weird just doing a gen to turn around and see MM staring at you.

Least is probably Trapper, at least a good trapper. He's just not a very fun killer to play against.

  • I'll just play it by ear. I don't really play within "rules and regulations" and neither should you, I just play the way that is fun for me. Don't let other people's expectations become your obligations. If gens are getting repaired super quick or my Ruin gets destroyed within the first minute, I'll tunnel my first hooked survivor to confirm a kill ASAP. The only reason is to generate more pressure not so much get a kill. The only time I'll face camp is if the gates are open. At the point, the game is over and camping is fair game. Every now and then survivors will QQ about "tunneling" or camping, but for the most part I play in a fun way for them so they are generally cool at the end of the rounds.

I consider 1 kill a lose, 2 kills a draw and 3+ kills a win. The only exception is if survivors are hitting the gens HARD and I leave the round with 0 kills but I black pip and have way more points than everyone with 4 BBQ stacks, I personally consider that a win. To me that's like someone getting in destroyed in pool but their opponent hits the Eight ball in the hole on accident. Yea they technically won, but you destroyed them.

  • I'm not gonna lie, if I see a survivor throw a pebble, I let them live. It's the funniest, most useless perk I've ever seen.

  • @Jack11803 said:
Yeah, I use it with haunted grounds. It works every time

What do you mean "works every time". Like you get enough stacks to mori? Do you run Ruin too?

  • Why not just boost survivor's BPs? Selfishness of people never fail to surprise me.
"hey gaiz, Im a survivor main and I don't get much BPs but killers get tonz. Lets nerf killer's BPz"

Seriously bro, great argument. How about we just buff everyone's BPs?

I've got ~160 hours on DBD with like 95% of my time as a killer. All my BPs are funneled into my killers.

Wanna know what that looks like translated into BPs?

Of those killers, Wraith and Billy are my only killers with "optimal builds". I've been perpetually grinding BPs since I bought this game just to funnel them into the Bloodweb to get screwed once again in this game by RNG. So, respectfully, get out of here with your disillusion ideas. Buff BPs for everyone.

  • Yea, use borrowed time. It's not that hard of a concept. If a killer wants to tunnel you, sorry about your bad luck, you're dead.

  • Does anyone actually use DH on a regular basis? I've messed around with it like 3 times and it was instantly destroyed each time. I'll never use it again. As of now, I even hate using Ruin because of the garbage RNG totem spawns.

I just think they need to fix all totem spawns.

  • LF seems to be a pretty good source for me. From a grinding standpoint, he doesn't require hardly any skill or tactical thinking, just run and gun. This last game, I ended up with 27k score on a normal 4k. That's why I really like grinding with him. If you are looking for a more engaging killer, I hear clown is pretty good.

    *edit
Freddy is also pretty good at racking in points but he's the most irritating killer to play IMO. I don't recommend using him for grinding BPs.

  • @Michiko said:
Never understood the complaint of “Gen Rushing”, I mean what are survivors supposed to do? Play paddycake?

Then you obviously don't play killer. Killers aren't mad at survivors for doing their objectives, they are irritated with the game design. 80% of killer matches are: Trial starts, Ruin destroyed, first survivor hooked and 2 gens are immediately completed.

40% of the objective is completed whereas about 8% of the killer objective is completed within like the first 3 minutes of the game. If you don't see the obvious complaint there, you're obviously a survivor main or just looking to disagree with the goal of starting an argument.

  • Yea ques seem to be right at around 10 minutes or so. I do concur with above though, it sucks grinding BPs on survivor.

  • Well right now the ques are pretty insane because of the new killer release/BP bonus. As of now, I'm waiting ~10 minutes per trial. When everything goes back to normal though, it should be a minute or two.

  • @Dabrownman1812 said:

Nah, freddy in the right hands can slug, the worst I ever did was go even, freddy's tracking and black box - photo is pretty good, slug all day everyday as much as you can.

Any killer in the right hands can be good. If there is a killer that requires you to be this precise and dedicated to being mediocre at best, then the killer should be as good as nurse. If people want to see other killers played besides nurse and billy, they need to quit saying stuff like "Freddy is fine" because that's how you keep garbage killers as garbage. Thank God he's getting a buff.

  • @DeathGripp said:
freddy does not even need a buff. I main Freddy and I can tell you that I never lose a match.

Yea this is a load of B.S, sorry man. You must be like rank 17 to truly believe that. I'm not even gonna waste my time to counter-argue this because it's so far-fetched.

  • Can confirm as well. Just played Huntress for daily and they are definitely off. It's a shame because I really started to enjoy Huntress. Would love an update on this.

  • I don't agree he is trash. IMO he's an average killer now just like the rest below Billy/Nurse. I definitely see where you are coming from though with the grind. Once you reach a certain amount of teachables, it becomes an RNG disaster leveling up a character's perks. I took me over 3 million BPs to get Wraith from rank 1 to rank 50 with the perks I wanted. Nothing special either, just Enduring/MYC/Ruin/BBQ.

  • I think some sort of BP modifier based on rank is a great idea, although I can see SWF groups abusing it big time and bully rookie killers. Generally though, I agree, there's not really a point to getting rank 1 other than the achievement.

  • Should play as soon as a killer picks up a survivor:

    https://youtu.be/EM6x5yOZX3A

  • It's a build called "Battle Bong", it's a meme build and it has been made popular by streamers. As others have pointed out, it's an add on. The point of the build is to confuse and annoy the survivors. The problem with this build is Wraith doesn't benefit from his recent buff, Windstorm.

  • I kind of think it's overrated TBH. Then again, I'm not typically in favor of RNG perks. Intending to use the mori on Rancor is essentially planning on failure. I just don't like relying on end game perks like that.

So not only do you not have to kill your obsession the entire trial, but you have to keep track of who your obsession is and find them before they exit. That's just too much for me to what to consistently use the perk over something like Enduring which benefits me ALL trial.

Honestly, the only killer I would use this on is Freddy, at least until he gets buffed.

  • @HeyItsNick123andnea said:
No I'm not a killer main and no do I use DS.

Then who are you to tell a killer main he sucks for tunneling? I bet you're the same guy who unhooks a survivor right in front of a killer then QQs about "tunneling" at the end of the game.

  • This is an issue that use to aggravate me like crazy when I was new. The only thing I can assure you is you'll learn to deal with it the more you play. You can tell when they are about to do this. If they are crowding the hook before you even get there, drop the survivor and go annihilate them while guarding your downed survivor. It might seem unfair for them to do this, but it balances out actually. With all 4 of them there trying to cheese your kill, not a single one is working on a gen, that's HUGE. If you were good enough to anticipate it, you can end up with 2 survivors hooked and the other 2 injured.

  • @TheHourMan said:
We already do reward the killer for leaving woth Devour Hope, Make Your Choice and BBQ and Chili

I had to comment because I feel this is an ignorant statement. Devour Hope sucks. Why? Because it's a useless totem perk built around worthless RNG aspects. A survivor can cleanse this perk in <30 seconds.

And I'm sorry to say this and I don't mean any offense by this, but survivors that complain about BBQ just aren't very good at this game. If you play survivor knowing killers are running BBQ and Leatherface trucks his chubby butt across the map and mows you down, you deserve to be hooked. The only reason I (and a bunch of other killers) even run this perk is for the BP bonus. You can see a huge skill gap between (good) survivors at rank 1 and rank 10 just by running BBQ. BBQ just isn't that good of a perk against survivors with a drop of common sense.

  • If you're 99.99% done with a charge and let go it fully resets you to nothing so you're forced to hold it longer than neccessary to ensure the saw will trigger.

This should have been fixed a long time ago. All they have to do is make his chainsaw mechanic like Billy's and it would be fine. There is nothing more frustrating than having a survivor escape because your chainsaw wasn't fully charged.

  • Just go AFK at the hatch.

Just kidding. I'll feel the other person out for a minute or two and give it up if they are adamant about it. Pips are useless and the minute amount of points aren't worth having a 10 minute stand off over. Bad game design and I'm not about to play that game.
