  • Your title says, "HOW TO HANDLE INSIDIOUS CAMPER" but all I see is a screenshot of you talking smack. Is this supposed to be a low-key attempt at bragging?

  • The places totem spawns need to be fixed. Why would my most powerful ability spawn right in the middle of a field survivors are constantly crawling around?

  • Super late into the conversation. I use NOED on Freddy because I can't use Ruin. I don't know that it's really fair to call it a crutch because the killer was bad. Gens get done SO quick. We've all been in matches where 2-3 gens get done in the first 3 minutes and you barely hooked your first survivor. NOED just balances it out. I wouldn't be against NOED being removed, but I'd expect they balance the game a little more to extend matches a bit before they did that.

If they are doing that, I will drop the survivor I'm carrying and face camp whoever is doing that. I don't care how salty they get, they are using a mechanical bug against you and they know it. I honestly try to play by the "rules", but if I am playing considerately then I expect the same treatment in return.

So taking a,hit to save your teamate is a mechanical bug huh its seem normal to me teamates trying to help a teamate whats wrong with that?

That's fine to take a hit for your teammate. When you and 1-2 other teammates are blocking a spot I have to stand in just to hook someone and they wiggle free, that's when I get salty. You're getting face camped if you do this. Period.

    snipped for relevancy again.
It is a viable strategy, as far as I can see, again, the devs are fine with it. Bodyblocking is only really a problem if it disrupts the game: the killer or survivor trapping someone where they can no longer move (like a survivor blocking another survivor in a corner, etc) This one is annoying, but a viable and legit strategy. And if you don't like it? Hit them. They'll get out of the way, I promise (or you hit them again and down them)

It's only a viable strategy because of clunky game mechanics. When you have 2-3, "hitting" them doesn't necessarily work. Survivors blocking a hook, that is absolutely taking advantage of bad game design. If you're okay with this type of tactic, then I hope you're okay with face camping being a viable strategy as well because that's what I will do to you if you do this to me.

  • It's a really weird concept IMO. Survivors that finish gens very quickly are rewarded basically no points. But if you nerf the generators, they will feel as if they are being punished.

They just need more to do in game other than generators imo.

  • How about this?

    Crushing Blow:
You pummel a survivor, crushing their bones. After a survivor is put in dying state, you slow their crawl speed by 50%/75%/90%.

  • I mainly play killer and there's only 2 things that irritate me. I know people say tbagging is toxic, but honestly that's like one of the only ways to communicate in the game. It's just someone spamming a button, who cares, honestly? To me this is a form of taunting a killer when survivors are really good at looping to keep the killer busy while everyone else does gens. It's a legit tactic. If you tbag the killer then get owned, then you just look dumb. What irritates me about it is when survivors hold up ending the game just to tbag the killer.

The second thing is when people body block hooks, especially if my dying survivor struggles free. It's because I don't believe this is a legit tactic and they are using bad game mechanics to gain an advantage. This one really ticks me off and I'll face camp survivors for this.

  • Is Leatherface super easy for good survivors to kite or am I still needing practice? When I play him against good survivors, I just feel like a fat guy chasing a carrot on a stick.

  • I love Freddy, he's my favorite killer by far. He has such a trolly play style. IMHO the only buff he needs is to make it more difficult for survivors to get out of dream state. I noticed on games where survivors are spread out, they can just run to each other to wake each other up or continue to work on gen's for skill checks while you run around like an idiot trying to put them to sleep.

  • Hopefully it's a xenomorph from Aliens.

  • Toxicity isn't something unique to this game. If you have PvP, you will have salt, that's just the way it is. PvP is just competitive by nature and it brings out the frustration in other people easily. It's so easy to vent out frustration through a keyboard. Go to any pvp game's forums and I guarantee you will see "toxic" written somewhere.

If you're the type of person to say, "wow that was rude", let me help you, don't don't say that. Trolls thrive off this response and will dig their claws deeper if they sniff blood. I don't initiate this type of garbage, but I'll troll people that start it with me. My suggestion is to fight fire with fire. It's so easy to wire people up that are already mad.

An example of this is this morning I got 4K in, I'll give a rough transcript of what happened:
    Survivor 1: GG
    Me: GG
Survivor 2: you were easy to loop lol
Me: just accept your loss bro
    Survivor 2: you suck tho
Me: you can call me 4k Freddy tho
Survivor 2: you're not even good, how is it to be that bad. I wasn't even trying to win
Me: 4K FREDDY BREAKIN' NECKS AND CASHIN' CHECKS
    Survivor 2: git gud
    Survivor 2: ur terrible (disconnects)

Just have fun with it and don't feed the trolls.

  • I played LF when I first started the game. I'm not gonna lie, I was wrecking people in the 15-20 bracket. Then I hit 15/14 and people started looping me like crazy. He's a lot like Billy IMO but he trades mobility for power. I'm not that great at this game, but I've been around survivors that you can just not hit with the chainsaw because they know maps so well. So then you have to use your mallet and LF isn't nearly as strong.

My issue with LF is he's just sooo slow. If you're not good at finding survivors, you walk your chubby butt around the entire map and 3 generators are even done before you hook your first survivor. Billy is so much better, after my first chainsaw sprint from an abandoned generator to a generator that survivors were working on and instantly killing someone, I never went back to LF. I can understand the frustration of you and a couple teammates being mowed down, but if you were playing against LF, why were you grouped up to give him that advantage?

  • IMO games are just too short. Survivors are doing what they're supposed to do, so I can't really be upset with that. Personally, I feel like there just needs to be more incentive for survivors than just gens to extend games longer. Risk vs Reward type of thing.

I mean there kind of is now, when they gen rush, they get practically no points. Adding a little something extra in game for survivors would probably prompt some longer games so killers have a better chance of getting kills.

Honestly, this next suggestion is probably a little far fetched and wishful thinking. What if they added "elite" objectives past completing 5 gens. For example, if they completed the 5 gens, they could voluntarily leave the game like normal but if they stayed in game and completed 7 gens and some type of in-game puzzle, they could banish/kill the killer for extra blood points. Would be neat for SWF groups while giving the killer more opportunity to finish the game before they do. Would love to see the salt in chat of a group banishing a nurse main.

  • /shrug
I usually PvP in most games, so trash talking and taunting is almost second nature.

@Grimzy you are surr main right ?

Well lets say im survivor main. I havent really played this game for long i will admit that and idk i find playing killer a bit stupid, its not for me. I managed to get to rank 12 just by doing what actually contributes. Asside giving killers the runaround because i suck at that.

Basically before thi patch, it was kinda like 50/50 whether my party escaped or not. Now nearly every match it wound up dead. At least 1-2 people die within the first 5 min of the match. Then you even have people running the glitched tinkerer, bitter murmur....you see what i mean? I get that kilers should be a bit stronger, but looking at this objectively as possible killers are already soo buffed up, and people still cry more.
I can give credit to a good killer when i see one, but most people just whine to buff killers because they suck at their own game.

I'm the complete opposite, I find survivor boring. It's anxiety inducing sure, but repairing gens over and over isn't fun for me. That being said, I challenge you to try out killer again. It's crazy how fast generators get completed sometimes. As a fairly new player (myself), it's incredibly frustrating running trials without Ruin. As it stands now, I'll search for my first survivor, down them and hook them, then 2 generators are already completed right off the bat. I still have to find, chase and hook survivors 11 more times to get a 4K. Add abilities like Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Sprint Burst, Flashlights, (good) loopers, and body blockers and it's that much more challenging.

For the amount of work a killer has to do to get 4 kills in the amount of time allowed, it can be challenging. I don't blame survivors for doing what their supposed to do, but there's not really enough incentive for them to do anything else. So everyone leaves the match with low blood points.

  • I have a question for everyone:

If a survivor is consistently body blocking with 2 people and a dying survivor struggles away because of it, would that be a just situation for a face camp?

  • I've been playing a little over a week now and I always get accused of one of the two. It makes me want to start camping if I'm gonna be blamed for it anyways. If I am by the hook and you unhook a survivor, I'm not gonna avoid hitting the uninjured survivor just to avoid being called a tunneler. Sorry about your bad luck, wait until I am farther away before you unhook. I noticed people just love to complain.

I don't really understand why we are expected to play a certain way like avoiding tunneling or avoiding camping but survivors can use any cheap mechanic they want and that's perfectly fine.

    Some basics for new killers

Thanks. As a new player, the red light is not something I really knew could be manipulated like that. This has been surprisingly extremely effective when dealing with obnoxious runners. I've noticed they will run straight into me sometimes! I love this tip.

  • Thanks for the tips everyone. I've been listening to some of the advice in here and I have been doing much better.

I do have a question for the survivors here though. People have been giving me crap for "camping". Let me clarify what I do. After hooking my first survivor, I'll run to nearby generators and kick them and look for other survivors. By this time, the hooked survivors are usually unhooked and I'll rinse and repeat this until 2/4 of my survivors are dead. When there are two survivors remaining, I'll hook a survivor. I run BBQ and chili and whispers, so as soon as I hook, I can visually see there are no survivors outside the range not to show off their aura and no generators are being completed. I don't see the purpose of running off just so my survivor can get unhooked when I know one of the other survivors is just sneaking around waiting for me to run off so they can unhook, so I'll patrol this area. This usually results in the third survivors death.

People have told me I am toxic, I am bad, #########, etc. Is this really a bad habit for a killer and considered dishonorable or this just survivors being salty?
