I know I'm gonna trigger a lotta female mains. (Sorry but I just dont like them)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/278/ZZW1HWQATCY6.png

So is this a Tier list based on who you personally like or what you believe to be the better strategic/meta characters?

*I get its all just for fun, but all the female characters have smaller models which makes them instantly above the males due to hiding/getting hit*

    Huh?

    Here’s an experiment for you.

    • Go outside.
    • Sprint as hard as you can till you are exhausted.
    • Stop.
    • While you are exhausted start running (not jogging) for 40 seconds and then immediately try to go for another hard sprint.

Not to play Devils advocate here (as I honestly don't care to chime in on this conversation) but try this:

*Take a machete swing to the back

    *Run for 30-40 seconds

*Rub your tummy and tell me if you feel better

    *Rinse and repeat several times

Lots of stuff in this game makes no real life logical sense.

No, it doesn’t punish a killer for doing well, and no, it doesn’t reward a survivor for “failing”.

As survivor: you could be doing your very best only to find that other 3 teammates end up dead at no fault of your own. The hatch allows for a small chance of escape despite this, as it's outside of your control what your teammates do and do not do during a trial, even in the best SWF teams.

As killer: you could have killed 3 survivors before the gens are repaired, and if there is no hatch, OR if it were more difficult for the last survivor to escape than simply finding and jumping into the hatch (such as your opening suggestion), OR no way for the killer to start the EGC, then that last survivor would hold the game hostage by hiding the entire time in an attempt to try and force the killer to DC. As was the case before the EGC and old hatch spawn requirements.

Here is the problem, everything you just said is 100% true but so is everything @BaconyToast said.

It gives the survivor who actually busted their butt a chance at escaping. Closing it can give that killer who did nothing all game a chance at getting kills,

    BUT

It gives a team that does nothing all game a chance at 1 escaping and punishes a killer who busted their butt all game to lose a kill due to hatch spawn RNG.

So both of you are right. I honestly don't know why hatch happens at 5 gens. The 2 gen requirement made sense as most of the time even if you are on a horrible team YOU can get two gens done.

Basically its just another DBD problem no one can agree on.

    Edit: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

Here you can read all the ban reasons, staying afk is not here, and why should you get banned for that?? I mean there are alot of reasons to go afk, me for an example, I had to go afk to toilet, ez ban right.

"AFK" is reportable in the after game report section. It basically has its own category.

There should be an immediate skill-check when a survivor returns to a damaged gen.

If succeded, the regression stops, then the survivor may leave the gen or keep reparing it.

If failed, try again or leave but the gen will still regress.

Edit: I play both killer and survivor, and even as a survivor I think it would be a good thing.

So long as the skillcheck requires you to be on the gen.

For example if the killer is using "Overcharge" you can literally run away from the gen while doing the skillcheck...it makes no sense.

During this Bloodhunt, I wasted three Hawkins map offerings, and they never got refunded when somebody disconnected for the three times I tried to use them. It was just like when people were disconnecting for moris, is there really an issue with Hawkins? I think it's really fun as survivor. Anyone else?

Just like when Lerys first came out lots of people "hated" the indoor aesthetic and maze-like layout.

Survivors found it difficult to find generators and some killers found it impossible to play their particular killer (ex: Billy/Huntress).

After some time (just like with Lerys) people will actually learn the map and get better at it but until then you will have to deal with the kids who can't be bothered to learn.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

Hey girls and guys, I'm just curious about your playstyles as Survivor or Killer. Maybe so I can see, where I can place myself amongst you. Or so we all can learn about other styles out there.

Survivor: Well... I think I am a supporter. I mostly do gens, go for the rescue when needed or go and find all the Totems when my gut tells me, the Killer has NOED. I'm not super altruistic nor am I the girl who loops the killer for ages. I can loop but others can do it better and more efficiently.

Killer: I just try my best. Does that count? I slug for 4k unless one of the two has earned the hatch. I dare say that I play fair, try not to tunnel nor to camp when not necessary. I kill those who betray their mates and let the victim go. When there are DCs in the early game and people struggle, I let them go. But I am harsh against OoO trolls, flashlight clickers and tbaggers. So all kind of toxic girls and guys. And sometimes when someone really pisses me off, I just want him dead. Regardless of the match's result.

Reading all these posts over the past 2 years I just assume this is everyone who plays DBD.

  • .WHAT DO WE WANT!?

    >HAIR!

.AND WHAT WILL WE GIVE THEM!?

    >OUR GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE!

  • Hag suffers from the same frame rate issue on console as other quick moving killers, but I have not had difficulty adjusting to playing her. Short of straining my eyes after a teleport I don't really notice a difference at all.

PS: That auto aim happens on PC too and has caused me to miss way to many attacks but this issue isn't unique to just console.

  • Simple at the start of the match I message "Farm or regular game?"

If they want to go for points then we shall, if they want a regular game then we shall, if they don't respond then I assume its a regular game.

Of my only 20-ish matches so far most seem to want to farm (don't blame them) and the rest brought insta-heals and full meta builds. I always bring in Doc for the farm responses or prep for an all out tryhard match with no response/normal game.

I'd rather every game was just normal but I show mercy by offering the choice up front.

Once the Blood Hunt ends I go back to my gimmick builds and just casual tomfoolery.

The title says it all this post will likely be taken down in less than an hour so while it stands is this not clear evidence they are hiding something?

The thing is if they wanted to stop the hype wouldn't it make more sense to just make their own official post saying "Pennywise is not coming to DBD in the near future" or something along this line? Deleting posts really just makes the theory train chugga-choo choo much faster.

    Really seems counter productive.

Why would I want to potentially bully people who just started?

I'm split on this (don't play Switch) on one hand I hate when I have to wait ages to get a single game only for people to DC and ruin the game. On the other hand I'm not a fan of really easy matches where you steamroll the killer or the survivors.

Still think I would rather the quicker matches though. However I don't think this currently broken issue is the answer.

  • @Mochan said:

This bloodhunt really does bring out the worst in killers. Played 15 games now out of those 10 were against Spirit. Everyone's bringing their A game. I'm hiding in a locker right now from Spirit as I type this.

How is that bringing out the worst? People want to win so they can get as much BP as possible and not everyone wants to spend 20 minutes in a match farming every game. I've played against plenty of insta-healing survivors this BloodHunt too but I know they want to survive for points so I'm going to play my hardest to win too.

  • @arslaN said:

Seriously, why is this a thing? Flashlights are pretty much useless against her.

EDIT: I think hag can't be blinded while breaking pallets too.

All killers can be blinded when at a pallet.

Also for anyone telling you "they look down when breaking a pallet" may I remind them that every killer looks down and this does not affect the blind hitbox at pallets. Its the animation and not the actual hitbox moving.

Yeah if they quit the match the correct way through the menu. But I lose everything when the killer closes the game or pulls the plug.

Dedicated servers are fixing that. So you have your fix once they are finished.

Make the cars survivors! Yes! Seconded.

Just make them all survivors and dbd will be balanced. Ggez

Maybe they will add the other 3 survivors in this picture then!

    image.png

    Edit: *Beep Beep*

  • In that case here is my Console Nurse evaluation.

CONS: Frame rate can make the motion blur of blinks horribly bad/ Sensitivity on controller can make it difficult to react during a close blink-hit/ Console survivors seem to be extra toxic towards Nurse players (however this is a positive too, see below)

PROS: Once a match starts and the survivors hear a Nurse blink "scream" they instantly relax because 90% of console Nurses (all 6 players ^.^) suck. This is a great advantage once you have mastered Nurse because you really put the scare in them. Nothing like downing that cocky Nea after she thought she could t-bag you.

*Honestly I think you will have better luck with other killers vs Nurse on console, but if you are willing to put in the time and effort the reward is sooooo much better than PC because you are 1 of a very small pool of Nurse players.

I use to be good at PS4 Nurse when I practiced and I will tell you nothing feels better than seeing a "toxic/cocky" team realize just how deadly you are.*

I think the X2 bloodpoint should be the normal ammount of bp that you get. The new bp buff made so its easier to get every perk on every charecter which is only usefull for killers. I only have the teachable perks for the survivors (bisides steve) and just started for killer.

I am done having salty potatoes in my games who DC after 20 seconds cause they get downed through a pallet or are mad cause some of their tactics didnt work. in nearly every case the other 3 Survivor are in such a bad Position they cant even do enough to rank up or even saftey-pip. in my opinion it should be made that if another Survivor ragequits, especially in the first one or two minutes, the other Survivor should get at least a safety pip cause there are less chances for them to black pip

Problem here is that people will abuse this system. There have been multiple cases (like the old camping penalty) where SWF teams would abuse the system in place to benefit their friends.

I could quit a match to give my friend a better chance at getting a 1 pip (for example).

What needs to happen (and should have been resolved ages ago) is punishing the behavior of disconnecting in the first place.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

So much propaganda against survivors, thats ridiculous.

I understand your sentiment and yes I agree that this game is toxic on both sides, but the issue being discussed here is killer related and thus it is the toxic survivors who are being addressed as the issue.

Because this game is 1v4 there will always be more toxic survivors than killer but this does not mean both are not completely capable (and have shown multiple times) of being toxic.

Just try to understand in most post "survivor" and "killer" refer to the role and not anyone who plays that role specifically. At least that's what I believe most people mean ^.^

  • @FiftyCalReaper said:

I've had this exact same thought.

1: Use less powerful perks or lower tier killers, survivors troll you and teabag and act like they're God's gift to DBD.

2: Use powerful perks and a high tier killer. Survivors whine and complain about how unfair and bullshit the game is and how it's ruined their lives and send you messages harassing you.

The same survivor will either skip around and gloat all self-satisfied, or whine and cry. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. That's why I NEVER give hatch. ######### em. ######### em all.

It was actually the new hatch mechanic (spawns regardless of gens done) that made me stop giving hatch. If I was dominating a game I would typically let the last do a gen to open hatch and escape. With that hatch being given for free I now have no mercy.

PS: I do show mercy during rank reset if I notice I have a new player in the match ^.^ don't want them all to quit playing.

  • @grayon444 said:

And yet, you still cannot hide in any of them.Come on devs.

Gives a nice alternative to lockers, yet can function the exact same.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

What if one of them has been Christine this whole time?!

They have hidden the new killer in front of us this whole time!?

  • I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure they said they were testing an idea about having a "rage quit/DC" leave a husk behind so the killer can still get their stacks (all perks).

  • I would like to see some general perks added into the game not attached to any character specifically. I really enjoy seeing perks that have fun synergy with one another that alone are "ok" but truly shine when paired.

  • BHVR is currently taking a look at Nurses add-ons and making a "tweek" to her power (take that for what you will). The Dev team has announced this already.

My tip for learning how to play the Nurse is to avoid using add-ons until her base Blink speed/distance are memorized. Once you have a strong grasp of this you can apply add-ons as you like. My reasoning for avoiding add-ons at first, is to not become accustom to an add-on and struggle when you no longer have it. Nurse can perform really well without them in high ranks.

PROS TO NURSE: Once mastered (blinks) is the best killer in the game for pressure/ Power can ignore almost all loops/ Fast map traversal (not the fastest)/ Can end a chase quickly with blinks/ Add-ons are not needed to do well at high ranks/ Best skill cap killer with rewarding play once mastered.

CONS TO NURSE: Takes a long time to truly learn the feel of her blinks/ Struggles on maps with lots of walls (Lerys/ The game <---Not too bad/The new "Hawkens" map)/ Many people will simply Disconnect once they realize you are playing Nurse (due to her being the most powerful killer in trained hands)/ Her constant fatigue animation after every blink can get annoying after playing her for most matches (half the game is spent looking at the ground)/ Expect hate mail from salty and toxic players.

Honestly a fantastic choice for a Killer if you want to consistently shoot for 4k games or rank up to Rank 1. I wouldn't suggest pumping points into Nurse if you are a more casual player looking for a killer with fun builds.

PS: Her perk Nurses Calling is a great teachable worth unlocking.

*All of this is assuming you are on PC as Nurse on console is vastly different in terms of power/learning.*

  • I don't think he is in a bad place right now but I would need more time with him (personally) to really make a decision.

I waver a lot closer to "No hes fine" but I need to play around with his add-ons a bit more.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

My opinion: I understand having the crows whilst hiding in a locker as the survivor is actively choosing to stay hidden while they could be moving around the map doing other things. Whilst being in a dying state it should be different. For some reason or another the killer didn't pick you up when you were first floored (unless you run out via the deep wound meter for example). The killer put the survivor in a dying state and now the survivor is simply trying to avoid being hooked. If it's feasible to get to the hatch, fine. But I don't believe crows should be active on dying survivors.

Most downed last survivors get end-game collapsed anyway.

Hold M1 or spin in circles. If they have to code the crows to act differently when someone is downed be prepared for the onslaught of bugs that follow ^.^''

  • @Rivyn said:

Honestly, it pisses me off. Not when I'm killer, but when I'm survivor. Here I am, looping the killer, waiting for them to get the gates, and they leave it at 99%. I don't know that, I'm just assuming they're lost or something, so I buy as much time as possible. Just looping while I wait for the go ahead. But no, it's at 99%. When I'm eventually hooked. I can see them crouching behind something, watching. I've lost three matches today because of it, and it's put me in an incredibly salty mood. More so when I find the hatch, I can't go far, and they just sit there on the gate twiddling their thumbs.

I'm betting many have answered this already but I didn't read any responses so....

1: EGC- Once a gate is opened you start the EGC and limit the amount of time you have to escape. Especially if the person being chased gets caught.

2: Blood Warden - Assuming the person getting chased gets down its a good thing to have the gates at 99% so BW won't activate once they are hooked. If the gates are opened after the hooking animation you negate this effect.

These are the two possibilities I take into consideration when at the end of a match and I would hazard a guess many others do too.

  • @Rexis said:

Tell me what you think guys!

His lunge is the same as the other killers but his animation makes it look longer.

His snares are not as powerful as the clowns gas in terms of size and are denial. You also have to be asleep for them to even affect you. On top of this there is a delay before they activate leaving you time to hop that window/pallet without getting effected.

His teleport ability is very telegraphed so you get plenty of time to run away before he emerges.

I'm not really seeing the issue with his abilities. If you wanted a slowdown to his movement when he places a snare that would defeat the slowdown of the snare completely as the 15% is not much and doesn't last long.

Unless I'm missing something here I'm not sure what you want changed with Freddy based on my experience playing against and as him.

title, i literally versed it maybe once in a public match. #########

Just my guess but many probably don't want to buy the whole chapter since its expensive for sub-par perks/killer. People may also not want to just buy the killer for the same reason. I know I'm personally not buying the DLC because neither appeal to me, but as I said this is just my personal opinion.

I know since the chapter release I have faced 2 Demogorgons out of the 40-ish matches I've played (PS4). Your rank may also play a factor in this.

  • Yeah had a friend once claim a Huntress was "long distance camping" because she would throw at hatchet or two in the direction of the hook from across the map. Mind you these shots were not very close and the Huntress had no LOS. Needless to say I told my friend he needs to start playing killer because his salty butt is staying on the hook if I hear him say that one more time.
