Until you guys fix this bug with Sloppy Butcher PLEASE just disable it for the Wraith. Every single Wraith I have played against in the last 2 days on Xbox has used it and I'm 90% positive they are doing it on purpose. They don't even need to use the add-on, just Sloppy Butcher. My game has already crashed twice from it. And yes the killer can see the blood spurts, I've been outed by it.

If you dont want to rely on ruin and the RNG that survivors dont spawn on it, then there is only sloppy butcher as an alternative

    What's worse:
    1) Choosing a different perk for a short time.
    2) Games crashing

Shouldn't be a hard decision. Not to mention, Ruin and Sloppy are not the ONLY options to slow the game down. If it bothers you that much there are 13 other killers for you to pick in the meantime while the bug is fixed.

    @EntityDispleased said:
Yes, ruin the fun of other innocent players just so you could have yours. 10/10

Clearly you didn't read the OP. This isn't about fun. This is about the game CRASHING. If it was just a visual bug I wouldn't care but when the game literally freezes from it THAT IS KIND OF A BIG DEAL.

as the killer, YOU CAN NOT SEE THIS.
    thank you for your time.

Then why was I told by someone they could see it? Maybe they misunderstood what I asked, but I was pretty clear about it. "Did you see us constantly squirting blood even after we were healed?" Their answer YES. So....?

    @Peanits said:
The bug is already fixed in the PTB and will be pushed to the live build in the next update.

They fixed it individually, but the patch notes make it sound like you can still cause the bug by using Sloppy with the add-on. If someone can still crash the game by using both that's still a problem.

The game has never crashed for me if I or someone else used sloppy butcher. Not sure what ur talking about here. ALso what other options do you have to slow down the game? Dying light? lul

I've been using up flashlights on my feng recently to prestige her, and even though out of like 20 games i've only got one flashlight save, i'm being face camped most games, with messages in the chat after like "toxic [BAD WORD]" or "click the flashlight and you die". I'l admit, they used to be too strong, and if you knew how to use them it was abuse as the killer couldn't hook anyone downed in an open area, but since the constant nerfs, how can you use them as an excuse to ruin both their game and your own, by standing afk in front of a hooked person until they die. I think people need to reconsider what they think is toxic, as i get if someone tbags, they probably deserve to be camped, or if your losing and you need that advantage, but why would you ruin both your game and their's (when yours was going fine) just because you're against an item that isn't even that strong anymore... You're living in the past

Pick a flashlight and your escape rate in my game has just drastically decreased.
I dont bother what you call it, I simply dislike playing against flashlight users, so I remove them from my game asap

But why, only about 5% of flashlight users can actually use them. Half the time it makes the team do worse because they're busy trying to blind you. I really think you're living in the past too much if you feel that way towards flashlight players. They just aren't op anymore

And even if its just a potato clicking the flashlight without any effect, he will still be removed from my game ASAP

Why do people say just push through the ruin and disregard the totem meanwhile other people say to break 5 totems to counter NOED? Which one is it? Should I hunt for totems instead of enduring the ruin since either way I need to counter NOED? I think one of these should be changed since it is kind of odd that the counter to both of these is the opposite of the other.

Depends, do you wanna genrush and take the risk or do you prefer the safe path? Its up to you

I found something that i dont know is intentional or not but whenever a survivor trys to blind you you can just spam the drop button and it wont count i thought its kind of dumb to have it like that but not a lot of people seem to know about it

  • @Gorgonia said:
You mentioned blocking a hook as a toxic element. Is that how the majority of the community sees it?

I know for a fact a lot of survivors like to Tbag or taunt or try and make fun of you. When I find one of those and I end up downing them I will mostly camp them and I know their friends will stop doing anything to try and save them. It’s a win-win situation for me, no gens done and one less annoying survivor.

Toxicity is real in this game and I would go as far as to say that some players go into the game only to be toxic, because they do nothing else (some streamers are the best example of this).

If a congo line denies me a hook, then im not a friendly killer anymore.....

You just want favors from the killers for your own mistakes at this point.

There IS a third generator. There has always been a third generator. It is your own fault if you couldn't find it. Damn you lost a match to a 3 gen strat while the other generator was not even close. That's rough.

I didn’t lose the match actually 2 of us escaped. But nope nobody could find a 3rd gen there was one in the street and one outside a house. There was no basement gen, both upstairs gens were done, the single gen downstairs was done, the one in the park area was done and the other one on the street was done. There was not other gens other than those 2 left if there was someone would’ve been working on it instead of playing tag you’re it with the killer.

Video proof or I dont believe this

  • @ThatOneGuy said:
im tired of waiting for them. I have had so many games tonight that were so laggy due to poor connection with the killer. Wasn’t just me asked everyone in the laggy matches and they all had the same problem.

I just finished a game where I got unhooked tunneled and almost made it out the gate but a teammate that was trying to take the hit for me lagged in front of me which made the game flip out and lag harder and ended up pushing me back into the killer when it would have taken 2 more steps I would’ve been knocked into the escape but nope.

If u have bad internet don’t play killer ur screwing up the game for everyone else. I’ll just start reporting laggy killers for gameplay sabotage since their knowingly playing with bad internet making it an unfair advantage since they don’t typically experience as much lag as the survivors do. I don’t care if it’s not fair to tell someone to basically not play the game. It’s true if you’re gonna purposely make a match unplayable then don’t play.

Falsefy reporting is bannable, just fyi

  • @micsan said:
You seriously want them to limit swf to two survivors?

That's [BAD WORD] up. Most people aren't hardcore depip squads running sabo builds or anything else equally cancerous.

I simply want to be able to play this game with my friends, most of whom do not play even remotely as much as I do. Two of them have not gotten past rank 14 yet.

Why should we be punished for wanting to play together? Because some killers want an easier time, in a game where rank means nothing?

This game is catered towards casuals and removing the option to play together would be the death of this game.

That being said, I'm 100% sure that this will never be the case. So discussing it is rather pointless, but either way...my two cents.

Either they balance the game around SWF, i.e. up the killers and solo survivors (e.g. ingame voice comms and general killer buffs) or they nerf SWF in some way

See...... what??.... noooo!..... I agree with you on a few things like bug fixes and such but huntress hatchets a problem when they're easily dodged? And then hillbilly chainsaw when Billy is easily looped?.... how does this "fix deranking" when there is no incentive to rank up? What reward do players have for putting in the hours? This is a multiplayer only game that doesnt reward for play...

DS3 a game that is mainly story driven even rewards the pvp part of the game by giving the player rings, weapons and such after they've beaten so many players and with a game like DBD where there is no story mode this sort of game should reward the players a ton when you hit the highest rank you should get the best reward... theres always going to be a competitive side to this to everything and anything... I pray the devs have news on implementing incentive to rank up...

Deranking is a thing because of multiple things. Balance is one of them, if you want to do well against competent survivors, then you forced into playing nurse (or billy if not top notch swf)

And yes, ofc there needs an incentive to rank up aswell

  • @ThatOneGuy said:
Last 2 gens were pretty much right next to each other so the killer could just walk back and forth really quickly preventing anything from being fixed. It went on for so long that someone DC’d because he wasn’t letting anyone touch the gens. If someone touched the Gen he’d hit them and chase them away then immediately run back to the gens and would repeat that cycle. Would this be considered holding the game hostage?

    No it is not

I am just curious how console players deal with being 360'd as the legion because it seems when I play against him there is no way to 360 him. Either me or the other players try, but can't do it.

So.... Basically the Devs need to cater around casual players is what you are saying?

You only got a little to play each day, so you want to make sure you win everytime you play since you have no time for losing any matches.

It is because of posts like this, at some point the Devs are just going to make it so you'll never see anyone in your lobby. You'll click join... and all you'll see is anonymous markers showing you others players are ready to play. Then everyone jumps in and starts with all the same info everyone else has. Which is the fairest it should be anyways.

Can't handle playing some SWF now and then, you should stop play since more then half your matches will have some form of SWF in it.

The way the lobbies are being pull together now anways, you can't really tell who is SWF just by how they enter the lobby. If you are still dodging SWF based on that info, after the lastest matchmaking.... You are certainly more frightened of SWF then you realize.

    luls

DBD is a game catering towards casual in case you havent noticed.

And yes, at the moment it seems like the solution is indeed stopping to play, DCing and hoping for a better next game.

Too bad apparently they will be developing this game for another 5 years rather than make a sequel, which will allow them to fix issues that simply updating a game cannot fix without massive upheaval.

I doubt that the majority would pay for another game.
I dont think I would..... my wallet has been closed since the freddy desaster

I'd gladly pay for another game if it meant it would be twice as good as the original.

If I understand the upcoming changes correctly, it will show all survivors joining lobby at the same time regardless of whether or not they are SWF. I'm really concerned about that, because playing against 4 man SWF isn't fun at all to me. I realize most of the responses will be of the "git gud" variety, but I work full time and have a one hour commute each way. I don't have a ton of time to improve my skill to compete against a game that isn't balanced to factor in voice comms in the first place. I top out at purple ranks and I'm typically fine with that. The game isn't enjoyable at all when I play against a 4 man squad that cleanses Ruin by the time I walk over to it and completes 2-3 gens by the time I've hooked the first survivor. I normally just dodge them when I know I only have an hour or so to play in the evening and just want to enjoy the little time I have to game. Sometimes I'll play them if I want a challenge, but that should be a choice considering the massive disadvantage voice comms put killers at. I think this move could alienate the more casual killer population of the game and increase queue times for survivors. It's not about having easy games. It's about not being tricked into games where the deck is stacked against you from the start.

You will have to dodge them ingame now.
DCing isnt punished, so whatever I guess?

I only hope that we get a proper ranking system soon

This is true. Though you could also tie a feature like that into the ping where you can leave a lobby if people have >200 ping, for example. I imagine this should also be less of a problem once the new matchmaking system is release.

So you just check someones profile and this enables you to dodge the lobby.

When I bring up face camping there's a few things people complain about, so before I bring up my idea let's just get this out of the way:

Face camping/extreme camping. Well, first off if you're here to tell me face camping isn't an issue anymore because swivel hook- I'm describing their actions. If they're in your face and they're sitting there. They're face camping or whatever you want to call it. It upsets me everyone assumes you're playing with friends and they can tell you the killer is face camping them. When you're playing alone (and this is a team based game for survivors, none of this 'oh why did you even check' BS) you're going to waste time running up and seeing the killer is refusing to let a person go. It's cheap, boring, unfair, and mind boggling this issue has not been fixed. Swivel hook is nice but
Solution: If you (the killer) are not chasing anyone and you're near a hooked survivor the survivors depletion bar before going into 2nd phase (or 3rd phase/death) the bar completely stops. As long as the killer is close to the hooked survivor, the survivor's depletion bar will stagnate coming to a complete halt (or move very very slowly) until the killer leaves the perimeters of the hooked survivor and the survivor is out of sight.

MESSAGE TO KILLER MAINS: Pallet looping still takes skill, my heart goes out to you I still think it's rough and I have experienced this playing as killer. Don't assume I don't/haven't play killer. Killer has way more advantages and control over the game, and though I think they should have control, the game gives the above unfair advantage too, however you can still have control/fun/kills without using the above tactic. Gen rush isn't a thing, if you're a good killer some games you get everyone super fast, some games the survivors are better than you and will get gens super fast. This game isn't just made for killers, and with this specific issue it really makes me wonder if I should keep playing, because there's a lot of DC's going on, and the best solution would be to fix issues like this.

(Part of this post was taken from my original post https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/33513/dcs-because-of-unresolved-issues )

I'm seeing this a lot at rank 1 on PS4. There needs to be something done about facecampers. It was once talked about to decrease the killer's BP earnings when not in a chase, and while camping a survivor, I would agree with this, or even void BP earnings when camping, sometimes survivors DC just to deny the killer some BP because of their toxic behavior.

A facecamping killer doesnt earn BP.
Its the survivors throwing themselves at the camping killers that reward the killer.

    Dear devs,

I bought The Legion in anticipation of having a great buff on him like you talked about in the last ptb before he/she was released. That buff would have possibly made him more viable. Especially with franks mix tape. Then we got a whole bunch of whiners that said two hits while injured was op. Give me a break people. It gave you an actual reason to heal. Whine about that, but totally ignore the fact the Myers has wall hack add ons, insta kill add ons, and an unlimited evil within tier 3 add on. What he needed was not to take that great buff away, but give him some counter play. Now he will not recieve that buff and now he still sucks in the upper ranks. Devs chose one. Either give him a great buff like you were going to do before the whiners came out or rework his entire ridiculous power or just give me my money back that I wasted buying your trash killer.

Good for survivors anyway. I'm almost always running botany knowledge to counter sloppy butcher so I think this will help people like myself even more. I don't really see any problem with this for a survivor healing is faster overall when healing yourself.

    Good for survivors, indeed

My highest escape rate has to be against The Nurse. What do you guys think?

    Are you on console?

    PC but I played both.

Nurse is not as bad on Console as people say, either. I'm not saying she sucks, but arguing her as the strongest Killer ingame

Btw this is either a troll or bait thread.

This is serious. While I agree everyone does exaggerates it a bit, it is still true she is the hardest Killer to learn for the majority of gameplay

    Regarding the cons:

Hard to learn (High Skill Cap) - thats irrelevant, I thought we are talking about high lvl gameplay
Countered by stealth - any killer can be countered with stealth and then you proceed to loop (not nurse though)
The Nurse relies heavily on predicting Survivor movement - yes high skill cap
Dead Zones - yes thats annoying, but not too bad
Slowest Killer in the game. (Slower than a Survivor) - irrelevant since you blink

    1. You're right. Information is still correct, but if we are talking about high lvl play it is irrelevant.
    2. Nurse is exceptionally weak to stealth unlike Killers like Wraith, Freddy, Pig, even HillBilly.
    3. Yep. Imo she's easy to outplay because of that.
    4. Depends on the map. What would you say is her best and worst maps?
    5. Going off of #2, stealth is even more of a disadvantage to The Nurse because of her movement speed. She will have troubles finding a Survivor if they're immersed and smart enough to stay hidden. She lacks tracking Survivors which is why her Unique Perks help with that, but without them, it's highly lackluster. Since we're basing on gameplay, just because there's blinks does not mean her movement speed cannot come into play and can effect any aspect of the game.

You make some great points, Master.

I really hated the hospital with nurse. LOS breakers everywhere and a few deazones too.
Game is really good for her, she can blink almost everywhere

  • Survivors keep their items after a killer DC

Its the killers who lose everyone and dont even get compensated with proper BP
