Is it just me or are almost all the hitboxes in this game extremely inconsistent? With the length of lunges being so far and each killer's weapon being a different length, it feels more often that not that I shouldn't have gotten hit when I do. The thing that gets to me the most is that almost EVERY time I vault a window I get hit even AFTER I'm fully over it, when the killer's weapon trails a few feet behind me. Have they said anything about this? It's seriously awful.Hitboxes are quite consistent, but latency is not consistent

Never did understand the queue time excuse. As both survivor and killer, I never exceed 10 minutes of queue time in red ranks. And that time where I did hit 10 minutes was due to people joining and then leaving over and over. Not to mention this was at like 2 am because my sleeping habits are all over the place. The ban system is good because otherwise people would insta DC in order to derank all the time. imo someone who contributes nothing to the game but getting downed 1 time only to kill themselves on the hook is better than someone who DCs, because at least they wasted some of the killer's time for the rest of their team. Insta DCing as killer is annoying for the survivors too. If you insta DC to derank constantly, no matter what you prefer to play, I think that's a perfectly good reason to ban you. It ruins the experience of others.
When the queue time becomes larger than the actual playtime, then thats not acceptable at all in my opinion

That is BS and this has not been fixed
SWF was changed long ago to take the average rank between all players in the SWF. So 3 rank 1s + a rank 18 makes their average around rank 5. So they are actually making the game very hard for their rank 18 friend. It works this way MOST times, not saying there hasn't been the issue you've mentioned above though.
Thats simply not true

It's a nice day. You get off from school / work, you get home and after chilling down, you feel like playing some good ol' Dead By Daylight. You start up the game and select survivor. You've put around 3,000+ hours into the game, and have all the perks on almost every killer/survivor. You find a match and get into a lobby. You ready up and boom, the game begins. You start, with your signature username "DS-ONLY". The killer takes notice in you being the obsession. After working on a gen halfway, your heart begins to beat. Bum bum... BUM BUM. The music begins to change, and you realize, you are not alone. You become immersed, and with your URBAN EVASION... You sneak around the generator. You see the killer, The Legion. Under your breath, you laugh... A smirk goes across your face, wider than the one on the Legions mask. "It's show time..." You mutter. The Legion spots you behind the tree, and with all your might and hope into your P3 Meg... You press shift...Your feet kick off at 150% movement speed, bursting away from the killer. He's activated feral frenzy and is in hot pursuit. You notice a pallet and start running towards it. he's gaining, and just a few feet away from the pallet you can see the slightest red tint of his stain on your heels.
He lunges as you reach for the pallet. It slams on his head, just before the knife makes contact. You... begin to teabag from beyond the pallet? You're mashing the crouch button. Pressing it so much, you're gaining pleasure and satisfaction. You can't stop. You've got a massive grin on your face. He begins to break the pallet and you run, but not after you point at him at least once. A few several minutes later, he is still chasing you. You're injured and after 4 gens have already been completed in this one chase, you reach a final pallet. You throw it down and he begins to kick it, you accept that you may go down. As his final kick destroys the rotten wood. You hear a sound... almost like a siren. Your heart begins to race... You feel better than ever. You're smirk becomes a grim smile... Adrenaline.
You run as fast as possible from the killer, but he catches up with his power. Your friend is opening the gate in the distance... Freedom is in sight. You can take a hit, the extra boost will save you. You get closer to the gate but the Legion gets a hit off. You fall to the ground and look closely... NOED. You aren't worried. You have a final trick up your sleeve. As he picks you up, just feet away from the gate. You pull out a sharp rock from your back pocket. You time your attack, and just like that... The killer yells in agony from the sharp pain in his shoulder. You drop to the floor and make your final sprint towards the door. You are almost out, and just before you reach the flat plains... You stop.
Why are you stopping? You slowly turn towards the door. The Legion is standing there, watching you get healed by your teammates. All together, you stand there and stare into the Legions eyes. You all start mashing the crouch button once more, faster than you could comprehend. Such toxicity, such excitement in your mind. You point and signal for the killer to come here, and just as he activates his power, you all run out.
Entity Displeased. After chat, you mock him for playing such a bad killer and tell him to get good. "You're trash, [BAD WORD]" is put into the chat. Why would you do this...? There is no reason, and with your final smile... You click "leave match".
You sit there... happy from your experience. You take a drink from your monster energy drink, and with one swift motion. You queue again, to find your next victim.
Thanks for reading my stroy, it's based off a true story. In all seriousness, the toxicity is just getting worse. Some players out there are nice, but it's not always a fun experience.
Have a nice day by the campfire.

-RystionnSad but true.

It is literally killing this game for me. I haven't played for months because of poor balancing decisions and the fear of nerfing DS, but that's a whole other topic... but I've noticed that after not playing for months that every single one of my games at rank 15 has had smurfs, both killer and survivors. They have 100+ hours per 2 weeks in their steam profile so obviously they are not coming back to the game like yours truly...They really need to punish people that are D/Cing on purpose.... 3v1 game... smurf game... 3v1 game... 3v1 game... smurf killer game... the game is no fun when this is how it is. It may just be in my region (China) but that is how it has been since my return at the yellow ranks. And as killer it is the same thing.. SWF groups with 2k+ hours at rank 15... these people are obviously de-ranking on purpose just to mess with noob killers. Punish these losers because it is causing me to throw my disposable income at other hobbies instead of cosmetics in this smurf fest.
P.S. I am writing this post-game from one of my yellow rank games. I am the only survivor on my team not using DS and the killer is decked out and using thompson mix/carb tuning guide.... at rank 15...
You should never play after rank reset, unless you are into that stuff.

Why should i get punished to play at high rank when most of the killers are trash? and that i am forced to play competitive killers, i dont want to play Nurse everygame thank you
no ranking incentive, no ranking rewards, nothing, until they added incentive for ranking there is no reason to rank up, queues are longer, games are much harder and stressful, the game just isnt fun anymore
The SWF problem you are describing is a matchmaking issue, not a rankign issue.
A problem of the ranking system for example is that it allows you to reach the highest rank with unviable killers which should not be possible in a proper working rank system (because of the huge difference freddy-nurse e.g.) -
I have a question too
Why do I have 20 fps less on average when playing on the new map?

How does that work? Do I throw hatchets at the gen?

How do killers have it so easy now? Just because the game is actually quite well balanced? Killer can still be way more stressful than survivor. I mean you don't really believe killer lobby times back then were long cause everybody played killer, yet now that survivors have to wait longer it must be a bug?

Play and DC often to stay at ranks with more people=Can play
Get banned because you found a loophole that makes the game playable=Can't play again.
This entire situation is garbage. It happens every time there is a rank reset at this point and nothing has been done!
You dont get banned for deranking, thats totally legit to do.
DCing is bannable of course, just like in any other competitive game. Its pathetic that you need an absurd high DC rate that the devs take action....
If you're referring to her she dc's to derank. She plays until the end then quits when shes hooked/at the gate.
Yes she DCs the game to derank, thats what I was talking about

Thats how it should work. Problem is, rankings in this game is not about ability, but about time investment. My wife who is utterly horrible at killer has in a month made it to rank 5. If she can rank up, any one can.
Somehow I find your statement a bit exaggerated. If anyone was truly horrible, he/she wouldn't ever pip. I tell you that because even when hooking everybody once, you can still depip. Getting to Rank 5 means she was getting at least 2ks consistently, 6-9 hooks every game. That would sound to me as a solid killer.
Fact is that the emblem system has made ranking up ridiculously easy. In other games we dont have this because there is only one side "winning" and gaining elo.
And no, you can even rank up with 0 kills, its just a joke (and you can blackpip with 4k, the irony.....)

Hi,
As a killer, after some rank, you will inevitably meet some players constantly using the same evasion techniques over and over. The most annoying one by far being probably that constant loop/pallet dropping with/without lamp use.
I guess it is "alright", many will think, but what when it does just happen for like 20 minutes gameplay non stop, ad nauseam, same moves, same ways, almost same timing ? And Gosh, some knows how to do it relentlessly, to a point you feel the headache show, and really consider to rage quit the session. Now, honestly, how come this can be "fine" to let such players do this, without any penalty for them at any moment ? (they could come up dizzy, or trip, or it would be as simple as to reduce their FOV ? 340° vision ? Are they aye-aye ?)
Please there should be some poll and/or reflection on that, for it has ruined me a few games already, and as far I found out, there is only the Doctor to put an end to this...
If you wanna do somethign against this, then you need to play nurse.

If you've been playing DBD for more than 1 hour this has probably happened to you, there's a delicate balance between the time it takes to die on hook and the time it takes to complete generators. At low rank people camp because they can, survivors are no threat to the generators and the killer has the time to hang around the hook, at high rank camping is no longer viable simply because the other survivors will finish the gens and escape.Tunneling Explained: While it's easy to get salty over the killer tunneling you it has to be understood objectively, as long as 4 survivors are in play the survivors are favored to win, as soon as someone is removed from play the killer is favored to win (still winnable) but when 2 people are removed and there's only 2 survivors left 1 is almost certainly going to die (unless there's 1 gen left/gates are already powered).
Nobody likes getting tunneled (obviously), but the problem is that it's strategically beneficial for the killer to turn the game into a 1v3 as soon as possible (if they want to win). Made up survivor rules and post game messages such as "why you tunneling B*TCH" doesn't change the fact that the killer's best chance of winning is in fact to remove someone from the game as early as possible. Everyone knows when a survivor DC"S right away the other survivors are having a rough game there's no denying the 1v3 advantage.
So, what can be done about this? Well at high rank doing gens quickly discourages camping but what about low rank and middle rank? My suggestion is that when getting rescued from your "first hook" you automatically have a 10 second borrowed time effect that the perk "borrowed time" would add to if the rescuer is running it. Camping a "first hook" at high rank is choosing to lose the game so that doesn't change but for the rest of the player base this would give killers a reason to not camp/hard tunnel and would decrease the amount of toxicity in the game.
Yes we all know about this delicate balance between hook time and gen time.
It takes 120 seconds to die on a hook for a single survivor.
It takes 108,5 seconds to 4 survivors to complete all gensBHVR plans on implementing secondary objectives to adress this balance problem in a 1vs4
If you hadn't noticed I put the term "PSA" in the title so this was supposed to be new player friendly.
Claiming "we all know" isn't helpful and you forgot to mention it takes 80 seconds to solo a generator.
the 108.5 seconds are caculated via 80+28.5
That's nice, it doesn't change what I said though.
Im not really sure what you are trying to tell me though

I'm telling you exactly what I already said:
I put the term "PSA" in the title to make it new player friendly, claiming "we all know" isn't helpful and you forgot to mention it takes 80 seconds to solo a generator.

Well I dont know what to say, I just explained you how I came to these numbers.
80 seconds for doing a gen solo and 28.5 for the last one (assuming all 4 can repair). If you wanna see what those numbers mean in action, then you might wanna check out the depip squad experiment (marth88)
-
So you wanna remove a guaranteed no-skill blind with a skill-based mindgame.
I doubt that the survivors will be happy about that -

If you hadn't noticed I put the term "PSA" in the title so this was supposed to be new player friendly.
Claiming "we all know" isn't helpful and you forgot to mention it takes 80 seconds to solo a generator.
the 108.5 seconds are caculated via 80+28.5

Until you guys fix this bug with Sloppy Butcher PLEASE just disable it for the Wraith. Every single Wraith I have played against in the last 2 days on Xbox has used it and I'm 90% positive they are doing it on purpose. They don't even need to use the add-on, just Sloppy Butcher. My game has already crashed twice from it. And yes the killer can see the blood spurts, I've been outed by it.cant be outed if you loop the killer and they cant catch you
4headGuess you missed the part where it crashes the game? Can't loop when my game is frozen!

The game has never crashed for me if I or someone else used sloppy butcher. Not sure what ur talking about here. ALso what other options do you have to slow down the game? Dying light? lulLucky you. I've had my game crash twice, and at least one of my friends have had their game crash. You're on PC right? Yea did your game crash on resort before it was fixed? No? Well that was because YOU WERE NOT ON PLAYSTATION. On Xbox this bug can indeed crash your game, so stop with the "well it didn't happen to me" bull #########.
Well it didnt happen to me

And yes im on PC ofc -

20+ minutes with no game and getting lobby dodged along the way, I figured rank reset would speed the times upI thought killers have it so easy now that everybody is playing killer?
