  • Cheryl - A Demigod and a God Killer, When I was younger playing Silent Hill 3. Heather was my Video Game Crush...

Blight - The Best Designed Killer up to date. Has good counter play and is strong as the 2 women at the top of the Killer tier list.

Ime things are great. As Killer, I haven't had any denied hits. As a Survivor, I am feeling the crispiness of pallet stuns. I have been struck through pallets but just assumed they had a better connection at that moment. I know people really like they vs us approach here and I must say, it's interesting how Survivors have endured The Killer being the server for years including fake hits and dying because of it and that was ok. However, a week into the server being the authority on pallet stuns and it's the end of the world for Killers. So unfair, getting robbed and the lot. The topics I see are always so definitive, and conclusive: there is NO way the Survivor had a better ping; I was robbed of my hit FIX THIS!!

It's more noticeable on pure M1 Killers like Shape and Clown. Had like an average of 3 Ghost Hits per Trial with those Killers.

  • @SavouryRain said:

See, it's lag when Killers hit through pallets, but bullshit when Survivors don't get hit.

I don't understand the complaints; pallets are supposed to be the only real consistent defence survivors have, and they are of limited quantity. How is it fair if Killers don't respect pallets?

"Limited" is not equal to good survivors knowing how to loop and mange their pallets well. Also there are maps that have 20 pallets and all of them are safe ie. The Game.

From his perspective he gets the hit before the pallet is down. From the survivor’s perspective, the pallet is down already and the killer is stunned, and if he got hit there he would be complaining about laggy hits and pallets being useless.

So which takes priority? The devs have tried to compromise by saying “whichever registers with the server first, stun or hit, gets priority”. Whatever they do, someone will be “robbed” and complain. If you can think of a fairer way to do it then by all means, I’m sure they’d be happy to know about it.

I think the problem here is I had an average of 50ms-60ms Ping as the Bubba while Felix has 80ms-90ms ping. Rather than being fair, it's more a Survivor Sided Change which is not okay.

  • @CriticalWeasel said:

If you guys played Team Fortress 2.

The melee ghost hits literally happen every match.

You would hear the bonk but no damage is done.

The slight moment your ping goes higher it just robs you every time.

Rollback was the one everyone considered killed Street Fighter V

  • @eleventbh said:

Ping can spike up and down.

I know but this mechanic man... The 6 second chased turned into a 30 secs chase that turned into 1 min and 20 sec chase just because of stun validation. Feels annoying as hell.

A post like this makes it very hard for BHVR to pretend not to see this bug and let it slide.

If this is the bug I think it is, it requires re-equipping the desired cosmetics after every match. Someone has to be really determined to bother.

Hmmm My survivor friends told me that it was not much of a bother as Surv Queue time were long as hell. While waiting for a lobby they would just do the re-equipping like what they would do to arranging Add Ons and Perks.

    Honestly?

First of all, you need to learn how to hit knifes. Then you can complain about trickster.

I'm one the few people here that endorsed Trickster as a viable Killer on Red Rank on launch... I think I can complain however I like with him.

I just wanna share some results of my games and I kid you not that I now average in at least 2 Kills or 6 hooks for Trial and now I have a 4K streak on Trickster after playing like 25 games where in the early games I got about 1 or 2 hooks max and an easy depip and this was about the time I made my "I feel scammed" post if you guys check my profile.

Now these are some of the results after getting experience and possibly getting good with him.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZHPFM5EWDJA9/t4k5.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BB531SO9ELYX/t4k2.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2EKRWXYMWIDP/t4k2.png

First I wanna address something, I admit he is on the weaker side but he really is fun on the right circumstances.

The main strategy I use is playing him as a M1 110%ms Killer as lame as that sounds but it works. This Strat needs you at least to be good on minigames and predicting how the survivor would react. Now the main two perks that carry me in trials are "Monitor and Abuse" and "Save the Best for Last", IMO you need these 2 perks to win with him.

With "Monitor and Abuse" Trickster's Terror Radius will become 16 meters, this TR can actually make him a Stealth Killer that results in Free Hits most of the time if you play stealthily as move out of line sight to the Generator.

With "Save the Best for Last" STBFL on him is actually pretty good as you can just use your power on the Obsession keeping a permanent 8 Stack which is pretty scary as a Survivor.

For the gameplay, I mainly focus on the jump of Survivors as 16 Meters is a small TR, I'm reiterating that getting Free hits will be common with M and A

    https://gfycat.com/coordinatedoffbeatiggypops-dead-by-daylight

For STBFL, It is so easy to get 8 stack as you can just get the drop of the obsession and bombard them with Knives. If they're not an Obsession then play it like a M1 Killer with super recovery, that recovery can make it so that you can just bombard the survivor with Knives after the Attack Cooldownn, This either makes it that you down them with knives(if they're in the open) or they will be forced to take cover in nearest loop where you can smack them again or stick 8 Knives again.

    https://gfycat.com/hatefulfixedbedbug-dead-by-daylight

For your "Main Event" I recommend that you don't use it if it's not necessary as the maximum thing it can do is injure a Survivor Twice but the worth thing it can do is let the Survivor Shift + W yo the nearest Loop as the Start time is pretty long and the Cooldown of not getting to throw knives hurts very much. This power can sabotage your game game rather that help you. BUT if a survivor is in the middle of nowhere and you're pretty sure that you can down them with 2 injures then go for it.

    https://gfycat.com/uniformwavycowbird-dead-by-daylight

If I encounter someone on a Strong Loop, A Good Looper or BS Map Rng, I'll just Leave them and find other survivor to ambush, you'll get another chance at injuring them in a worse loop or better yet get a free hit!

Now these are all the advice I can give for those who want to try trickster but are scared by the Community because right now it's a common thing to associate Trickster with Depipping easily. Remember you're a Killer, Screw those Survivors, It's not in the Eula/Terms that Camping, Tunneling or Slugging is Bannable or you can't do it. Burn the Survivor Rule book or Use it as Toilet Paper, Do what you got to do to get the 4K.

I'm just scared that me getting 4Ks and other high Skill Players with Trickster would give BHVR the DAta that he needs a nerf rather that a buff lol, Anyone in BHVR please buff him, he still needs it.

  • @Customapple0 said:

Killers have priority when it comes to hits. The devs explained it in one of their blogs that whatever happens client side for the killer takes priority over what happens client side for survivor.

Unfortunately that can be somewhat abused by people using a VPN or with a poor connection.

I think they are changing it in the mid chapter update, instead the server will “decide” if the hit was valid or not. Hopefully this will solve issues with killers with poor connection.

Server Side Hit validation happened ages ago though, its Server side Hit or Stun Validation now.

  • Just two days ago, As I Blight if I play at least 10 games, It's a guarantee of at least 800K. If I play Blight now in 10 trials now, I'll just get about an 400K. I hate the grind. Event made it decent. D E C E N T.

  • I was thinking more of it could happen as, the Better looking Skins are not purchasable with Iri Shards so people would rather get the Character they want.

Also just to point out, If I was not a Blight here, 3 Gens would have popped in 1 minute and 30 seconds to the trial. Maybe there's a reason why Ruin and Tinkerer is so good at High Mobility Killers.

meta blight build. all i need to see + a nice cone hitbox hit through a pallet/window they don't deserve and i'd be good too

The Survivor maybe didn't deserve it on your perspective but maybe I deserve getting the hit? Blight Rush to the Shack Door and Lethal Rush to the Shack Window is not your common trick to a blight. As I am an experienced Blight and I fail that 50% of the time.

There was also the issue that he could eat pallets like it was nothing, Bubba can (Sorta) do the same but he has charges and doesnt have the mobility Billy has.

He shouldnt be allowed to use his Chainsaw as often as before, that alongside Insta saw was what made him so absurd as a killer.

I maybe blind but I keep seeing like 12+ pallets per Map and with the Hold W you can just keep dropping pallet like its nothing because you can trust your team(SWF) to do Gens. A Killer should be able to eat pallets to punish wasteful resource management. Billy got the CD for the "Resource Management" why not let Survivors mange their resource too.

  • @gilgamer said:

yeah im sorry but 4 man slugging makes me think less of you as a player especially at 3 gens

It's a comparison of my results of just trying to have fun by not sweating(following the survivor rule book) and me going full on sweat with Twins. The latter which is which I have more fun.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

If you aren't able to get a single kill without slowdown at all that's a bad sign.

I don't mean to be mean, perhaps those survivors were really good and got a survivor sided map. But I really see no excuse why a killer can't secure a single kill without slowdown. Especially on Billy who is still relatively decent, with an anti loop build and bbq to optimise time.

I've been running zero regression, just Corrupt and Pursuer for early game on Nemesis and been doing decently even against pretty good teams. Some matches swing my way others don't.

I think the game is more fun without slowdown honestly, even if sweat squads can just decimate you.

I didn't get a single kill because I was going for 12 hooks. I hook someone I immediately leave the hook without checking and go for someone I see on BBQ. If I found a Previously hooked survivors without hooking another one, I try to ignore. Basically I meant No Sweat = Playing by the Surv rule book, Which is stupid if I look back at it now...

  • @Laluzi said:

It should be allowed, because plenty of people just legit want to play with their friends (who are new, or haven't played in a while, or whatever.) But matchmaking needs to change so that it finds killers based on either the mean rank of the group, or just grabs the lowest ranked survivor and sets that as the bar for the killers it searches for.

IMO it should be the highest ranked survivor rank that should be the bar.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Have you tried solo at rank 16? Not being funny I cant get red ranks to do gens, run a chase or not camp and drop every pallet instantly lol

I know it's hard as I generally Soloed Rank 20 to 9 and gave up on my Teammates. For some reason Purple Rank is not much different from Brown Ranks as most of them are just dicking around... and Red Ranks is the most annoying ones as I expect at least you know how to win by holding m1 or looping. What I get most of my solos are people who just keeps on healing on a corner or crounching behind a rock when the killer is near me! These are the ones that I hate and are probably the ones who are boosted.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/265848/this-is-why-killer-hate-dead-hard

You swung into an obvious pallet play. Had you not lunged, you would have avoided the stun on the pallet.

Also "that got mindgamed". You're assuming that the looper didn't know that your mindgame wouldn't matter at that moment because they know the distance DH will get them, allowing them to avoid the obvious M1 and get the stun because you were overeager for the hit to end the chase. This is a common mistake ppl make with skilled DH users (note, I am not a skilled DH user, but I respect the the knowledge and patience other survs have when using this perk). They assume their mindgame worked when in reality, the surv read it and knew they had a clear path to not only avoid the down, but get the stun, and make it to another strong loop.

The flip side of this is when a surv doesn't read the mindgame correctly, DH's and ends up downed.

Well either way, She would have gotten to the pallet by using Dead hard for distance. My Point is that Dead hard feels like a cheap "Press E to undo mistake" for Killers. That why I and most Killers hate it. We feel cheated for our good play only to get taken it taken away from us by a simple Press of a button.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2356885#Comment_2356885

This is pretty much how you bait it, go for a quick hit rather than a lunge if they have Dead Hard

Yea I am going for these too but these seems to not work if Survivors are near pallets or windows as they can just go for Distance. Like above I would have gotten closer but Cherly was next to pallet and window. I swung and the Dead Hard was both used to dodge the hit and was used for distance to the pallet.

so you are saying the twins are balanced right now? if you think they are week go watch Dowsy the mad lad got over 800 4k in a row as twins

the fact that victor can be placed by a hook first and then have a survivor hooked afterwards and can camp there for 90 seconds should not even be allowed in the first place as you can't place him near a hook if the survivor is hooked their first.

but I instead suggested a change which allows them to still camp but for a shorter time

reducing the stun time on successful survivor downs to 4 from 5 seconds is a buff

and all the other changes punish the killer for misplay if you are good with the twins you wont even notice the changes as they are meant to increase the skill ceiling.

He's balanced as of BHVR's standard of Super Strong in chases but weak in the 4v1 aspect as Genrush is the solution. I don't thing they'll nerf him more lol.

People don't expect that on billy? Half the time they have bamboozle too. can't use your perk if i never let you get close enough to stun.

One of my point is that new people who recently joined don't know how to play against Billy. They don't know what to expect if you get like 1 Billy Match in 2 months, with little experience these players won't know how to counter him therefore making him strong.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Haven't seen a Billy in months... defo not meta lol

No it shows most played Killer with Doctor. That includes DLC Killers.

  • My recent matches on the event are

As Survivor = Killer Tunnels and Camp

As Killer = Survivors does their best to hold M1 and finishes the game in 5 Minutes.

    Imma hold on to these...

That's rather a Billy problem. He gets little to no chaser because of his Chainsaw. The game ended probably to fast while you constantly one shotted, giving you bronze in chaser and 1 off from a black pip.

Yea most likely plus whole trial was like 5 minutes. Gens and Chases were ending too fast, I never even used my M1 in the trial. Im a Billy main so Im used to Brutal Killer 3Ks or 4Ks but this is the first time that I got the Entity Displeased with a 3K.

Maybe I’m the out of touch one here, but if you don't like grinding blood points, then just don’t prestige.

Prestige is a fully optional thing that has almost no effect except for the cosmetics. In every game where prestige exists in fact it exists purely as a optional achievement to show dedication to the game, it’s not supposed to be easy or fast to P3 characters.

My Reason for prestiging is for the cosmetics. I prestiged 3 my Myers because of the cool blood spatter on the face. I prestiged 3 my Pyramid Head because PH was first seen in Silent Hill 2 as a very bloody(James: What was that red pyramid thing...). Pig's Blood covered weapon and Ghostface's Blood spattered mask looks cool to me.

Ruin/undying goes too fast IMO. I’ll stick with pop.

Problem is Devs don't think that Totems are bad. They keep buffing/encouraging survivors to find totems with the recent perks, but fail to notice that most totems are right in the open, next to a Gen or even next to a survivors at the start of the match.

  • @Verconissp said:

    Yuck.

    Please. It's like saying

    Yuck

People still rely on Deadhard/ Unbreakable/ Prove Thyself/ Decisive Strike.

You don't need that. Just Hold m1 the entire game and 5 minutes later you can spam the CTRL button on the exit gates, lol

Ruin/Undying is mandatory on certain Killers with no Pressure/Mobility. Corrupt and Pop is more reliable but kicking Gens already hurts the no mobility Killers like Myers, Clown and Legion.

I absolutely love people talking about the new map not being back yet. Here's the trick: before they fix something, they must find the cause of the issue. And if they can't manage to find what causes the crashing, they can't fix it. People always talk about how bugs aren't fixed, but no one ever questions what bug fixing takes.

People need to chill and look at some gamedev tutorials to observe that all these issues aren't fixed by pressing the fix button.

People are angry because these are bugs in the first place. BHVR is the only Game dev I know that I expect a crap ton of bugs to hit every patch. I'm even expecting more bugs to drop tomorrow for the Anniversary event like last year. As players/Customers we should expect a perfect product that we payed not broken piece of crap. Players should be rightfully angry on the recent updates.

It seems like stbfl and tinkerer should help cover his hold w weakness. You need a slowdown too, probably pop. Then you just need to decide if you want corrupt intervention or a tracking perk or another slowdown.

His oblvious add ons should help too, hes got a few of those.

Unfortunately I havent gotten to play him much because hes way to bugged right now to be effective.

STBFL does not help... Tried it. Most of the time it's better to get the tentacle hit rather than the M1 Punch. If you just M1 all the time and just tentacle the obsession then it's inefficient as you're just a 115% M1 Killer that can't mindgame because he's a giant. Tinkerer can help but in my experience he's no mobility Killer, by the time you get there the gen will pop. The fun part is a tentacle infection hit doesn't interrupt actions like doing Gens, Unhooking or Opening Gates btw.

Incorrect. Your back must be facing it or you get the blind. My first day after the dlc dropped i looked at the sky while carrying a survivor and they still got the blind off.

Yes, this seems more like it. based on experience I was feeling I suck at dodging them because I hear the click, I look up but still get the blind. If this is true that you need the flashbang to not be in front of your camera then I don't suck :D.

Its the same time as a firecracker or party starter. 2 seconds. You'll hear the hiss then just look up until the boom then look again. The hiss is pretty loud.

I know, I can eventually adapt to them but it's just frustrating that you're so focused on how the survivors will move in chases that the Flashbang always catch me by surprise.

It’s funny how during the PTB, most killer mains on here talked about how good it was to have a new decently strong killer after Trickster. But as soon as he’s been released, a huge amount of people on here are saying he’s bottom tier, without even trying to take some time to learn how to play him.

It’s honestly hilarious to see the 180 that has happened on here. The speed boost he gives upon contamination is extremely minor, as he is very strong in a majority of the loops in the game. He has anti-loop, game slowdown with the vaccine (not a lot, but it also gives him info when a survivor collects a vaccine), zombies that slow down gens and bodyblock for him, etc. He has a lot going for him, and to think you can master him in a day is extremely entitled. His power is very strong, and he has downsides like a balanced killer should have.

Also, you only need to hit survivor’s three times a maximum of four times a game, as the vaccines are limited. He is a B tier killer, and one of the most balanced released in a long time.

I dont see Nemesis being on the same tier as Billy... Nemesis is not a mobile killer that can traverse the map quickly or a Lethal Killer that can get downs 30 secs in the match. My standard for a B tier Killer is either Lethality or Map pressure which Nemesis is both weak at.

Sure he's strong at chases when he at tier 3 but you know whose strong at chases and considered weak as well? Clown.

I consider Nemesis weak for now as currently compared to Twins who excels at slugging and camping and Trickster who excels at 1v1 in loops, Nemesis excels at nothing.

  • A great change imo would be getting rid of the speed boost the healthy and then getting infected. Another great change for Nemesis is that when he hits tier 3, when hitting a healthy survivor with the power, it go straight to being injured, not just infect again.

Unfun if every equally survivor is good. Killers always look for the weakest link. If there's no weakest link then the only way to get a 4K is either be Spirit and Nurse.
