Stop playing by imaginary rules. Regardless of what you do as killer you will receive snarky messages. Accept it or ignore it. Just try and have fun

This is why I made this post. Survivors need to stop complaining about these Tactics and just accept it as the Killer trying to win.

Sure it's unfun what can killers do if Generators are popping fast, Survivors are good at looping and there's OoO and a Key

Or you just need to get good?.. Ever since I came back to DBD, i've gone 10 straight games with a 4K with minimal gen regression perks, tunneling, camping or slugging and rotating between Doc, Legion and Wraith at red ranks

Doc - Spirit Fury/Enduring/STBFL/Brutal Strength - Double Discipline addons

    Wraith - Sloppy/Thana/Discordance/BBQ - Swift Hunt & Windstorm Addons

    Legion - Nurses/Thana/Discordance/Deathbound - Dirt/Stolen Sketch Book

It's absolutely mind boggling that people think its impossible to win without using dirty tactics.

Idk Since you were back means probably you're facing off weaker Survivor teams? I don't mean to offend it seems like you're still playing qt probably gree or brown ranks where the average survivor plays are questionable.

To reiterate my point, wow! You're getting 4ks every match because most survivor are easy to handle for now. BUT what happens when MMR hits? You'll be facing good teams all the time Non stop, can you say the same then?

If you took a break recently maybe you missed when they tested the MMR system. I guarantee you your killers you mentioned would be setting up a tent next to a hook on one of those trials.

  • @Mugombo said:

Most games as killer are easy to win without playing like this even in red ranks. If you think otherwise then you’re just not as good as you think you are. Yes about 5% of games you gotta play scummy to have a chance but that’s hardly anything

I know, for now most killers are easy to win. But can you say the same after BHVRs MMR system takes place? If you are winning easily most of the time right now, when the time comes you'll probably face good survivors teams non stop every trial. Looked at what happened to DOWSEY's Twins, 3 hours finding match just to be matched up against the top 1% of survivors

  • @Blueberry said:

Everyone with good experience in the game knows that if you want to win vs good survivors you have to do some variation of camping, tunneling, or slugging. Just how the games balanced. That's part of why all the meta perks are anti-camp/tunnel/slug.

Survivors needs to accept that such tactics are normal and stop complaining that "Camping should be Bannable", "Tunneling is a problem" etc. Everyone knows that it's unfun but it's the only way to win as Killer vs Good Survivor.

  • @Blueberry said:

Yes that's exactly it! but I keep getting Salty Survivor that keeps commenting on my Steam profile... they can't accept such tactics and want it be bannable because of how unfun it can be.

  • @Phasmamain said:

These are the best survivors on comms though. Normal SWF or solos is definitely winnable playing nice

I know DBD is probably balance by Solos but I'm pretty sure that every Killer would eventually win against normal Solo teams that eventually they raise their MMR where its gonna be SWF after SWF after SWF. Now okay they'll lost by then and return to an MMR group where Solo are the normal opponent until they raise their MMR and the cycle begins anew. This is why I'm scared of the future of DBD.

Those are or were strong perks, but definitely not pay2win..

especially not the killer perks: BBQ is only used to lessen the grind as almost all killer players agree, Ruin and Undying are RNG based and if you don’t get the survs off the Gens they do nothing, you gotta play the game to win and the perks just give you an advantage, Pop and Corrupt both just lengthen the game.

as you Said yourself. skill is required in high ranks. Many people have demonstrated that you can perform great without any perks.

If it isn't pay2win then why do majority of people buy these perks and bring them in high skill trials? I got tons of friends in DBD and I assure you none of them thinks that this is fair.

"BBQ is only used to lessen the grind as almost all killer players agree, Ruin and Undying are RNG based and if you don’t get the survs off the Gens they do nothing, you gotta play the game to win and the perks just give you an advantage, Pop and Corrupt both just lengthen the game."

BBQ is to lessen the grind, true but why is it behind a DLC character not made is base game? WGLF is free for survivor but Killers needs to buy Bubba so they can get a lesser grind?

I must have missed the reason for Ruin and Undying being nerfed because when it released didn't majority of the survivors that it won Killers too many games?

Pop and Corrupt both just lengthen the game. Of course they lengthen the game! That's the goal of Killer so they can win! If Killers didn't bring any Gen regression perk the trial would be over in less than 7 minutes with how fast Generators fly with decent survivors.

    Killer is Pay2Win and that's a fact!

  • @Mooks said:

Pretty much everything you can buy is optional for the core gameplay though.

you can very well play the game with only the base characters and perks without any problems.

in fact, the strongest killers and survivor perks are already in the base game: Nurse, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Iron Will just to name a few.

Also Huntress and (the current version of) Wraith are damn powerful as well.

thus game is a pretty good example for NOT being pay2win but offering many great options with DLC.

May I introduce you to Perks are highly required in high skill trials that are super rare in Shrine and behind a paywall?

    BBQ and Chili

    Hex: Ruin

    Pop goes the Weasel

    Corrupt Intervention

    Hex: Undying

    Detectives Hunch

    Decisive Strike

    Soul Guard

    Lucky Break (Next patch)

    Old OP Mettle of Man

This also proves that Killer is Pay2Win and Survivor gets all their powerful crap for free.

  • @OopsAllHexes said:

Possibly never because of how rare it is. Double pallets has been pretty much removed so I doubt the devs will spend more time on it.

Also, this isn't as bad as it could be tbh, because some Killers like Slinger and Trickster could get past those blocks... and these seems like kinda short loops too, Survs would have to throw down pallets after one loop or two.

This exact tile showed up in one on tru3's game if I remember correctly and he tried lunging on both pallets and it was determined that both pallets were safe. It was one of his past Weekly compilation where I saw it.

  • This is probably Leon and Claire and Mr.X/Tyrant that has a One Shot down power. Oh Chris, Jill, Ada and Rebecca would probably be Legendary Skins.

There's no way these people weren't on comms together because they were way too damn coordinated. I'll be the first one to admit that I need to get better with Pyramid Head, but there's no way I should have been matched with these people.

This is why lobbies take so damn long for survivors. No one wants to play killer anymore.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2JIF5368H7A7/img-20200723-205506.jpg

This happens because there are less Red Ranks Killers in your region that can match the SWF above. IMO Killers have it too hard and are just likely to quit the game. If MMR happens I guarantee you most people would probably see more Matches like this, I'll probably quit DBD too if t they make MMR a thing as DBD should never be competitive. It be fun if you go against Sweat Squad once in a while but going up against 10 straight Sweat Squad because you are a high rank. No, thank you. I'll quit DBD at that point.

Isn't it true for this case? My girl Rin has more Kill Rate than Nurse and you feel like a total chad playing like her. While playing Nurse i just get stressed af and has a chance that the game cucks her more with bugs that will never be fixed.

My point is have you seen Silent Hill 2 Pyramid Head bossfight? My dude would probably be slow as hell while one shotting you with the knife if he was game accurate.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Freddy was way more accurate before the rework but he’s okay now.

Michael wouldn’t make a stun sound at all probably. He would also always kill the survivors since he doesn’t give a ######### about the entity

We got tombstone pieces for that killing part. Yea stun part sound would be gone as this guy got shot in both eyes and didnt made a sound and just kept swinging.

  • @CheesyGuy said:

Well gens pop fast but it is not the gen speeds that are the problem it is the pressure that we cant do that due to map sizes and some limitation of the some killers map pressure abilities. Killers like Spirit,Nurse,Blight,Hilbilly and Freedy can pressure the gens due to their patrol speed. They are fast and most of the time they rely on their speed or powers. However killers like Deathslinger,Huntress and etc... are rely on their aim and they are mostly slower killer then average. Because of that reason at really big maps this killer without the proper perks can lose the match. Many killer faces that problem. Some maps are really big for some killers to pressure. Imagine Red Forest map, if you wanna go to other side in some matches before you reach that gen can pop which there is nothing you can do. Maps should be a little bit smaller and pressure problem will be fixed. If they increase gen speeds it will hurt the new player who barerly manage skill checks and it can affect them really bad.

its still unbalanced if you can do 4 gens is 3 minutes

The remaining survivor took it hostage and just hid the from me the entire next 20 mins and trashtalked me when I just DCed the remaining two just spammed me with "hahahahahaha" and "gg ez baby killer" and "enjoy the depip :D"

Like I rather get the 5 minutes penalty that waste more time to hostage takers.

It was in the Map Lerys btw and I never heard any Birds or afk notification in that entire 30 minutes of a trial.

  • Let's be real guys, BHVR would probably just tweak his power a little like you get an injure with 6 knives now and maybe move a little faster with his knives, That's it! Don't expect any substantial Power Rework. Remember these are the Devs that took 6 months for the Hud Layout Design and 2 Chapters to Adjust Blight's Vision.

Edit: These are all the same guys who buffed Thanathophobia Slowdown Stack from 4% to 5%, Removed Oni's Flick but returned it and insisted the MMR system last year was alright until they removed it. Most of our feedback will probably be ignored anyways.

  • Proximity Chat allowed and Binaural Audio are my wet dream for DBD.

Like you're on the back of Survivor you ask "Dead Hard?" then you hit them and by Proximity Chat They start raging saying "Its press E for Exhausted on the Ground!!".

Or as I survivor you get someone fail their skill check on a gen you're working on too you can now verbally abuse them :D.

Would make Solo Queue more fun imo

  • I remember it was against a farming Hag that stood ion place with the m1s, I don't want to count that as my first match so the Next match it was Old Legion that has the Old toxics Add Ons... I was like why the f am I going down so fast??! Damn I want to a Killer now.

Because we're playing the same game as the same role. You're a red ranked killer right? I'm from Europe. I play around the evenings. Our experience must be similar.

So 1 every 100 games is challenging, I agree.

How can I get my server to change to Europe? Ss here in SEA region, Thailand, Japan and Korea are turning this god damn game into an Esports. I'm playing most of my games against good survivors that can do 5 gens in 5 mins. I even do tournaments here as Philippines host them commonly and I assure you no Killers except Nurse and Spirit will win against a Top Competitive SWF as in my tournaments, Its either be Spirit or Nurse and get 2 Kills or Be any other Killer(That includes Freddy, PH and Oni) and get a 4 escape.

Here in tournaments, Survivors will wait out that Corrupt intervention, Spread out and Do gens individually, Bring Maps and Detectives Hunch to get that Glowy totem 30 Secs in the game and will loop you at least 60 secs getting 60 secs in 3 Gens.

For Context the rules in tournaments are like the DBD japan Tournaments where Killers only get 1 point per Survivor Kill and how many gens are left remaining and Survivors Get Points per Escape and how many Gens were done. I assure you every Great Killer player I know were Gen Rushed.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Vn12nG7Qak

Here is Otzdarva getting Rekt as a spirit with decent Add Ons by a competitive team

Complain about Killer being too easy after you win a tournament other than Nurse and Spirit as right now you're still too green.

With his fast knives dead zone maps are a perfect match for him.

even still with fast knives that takes like at least 10 secs to actually down a survivor. Anyone else other than Trickster can down that Survivor in in less time.

  • No, as a guy with ample experience playing him on Dead Dawg, Badhams and Swamp maps. He is not fine as the only way to win at these map is be a 110% M1 Killer, partner that with no real Map Pressure you'll see gens flying by the time you down someone with your power.

I even get 4Ks with him because I play him as a M1 110%ms Killer.

Now these are some of the results after getting experience and possibly getting good with him.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2EKRWXYMWIDP/t4k2.png

First I wanna address something, I admit he is on the weaker side but he really is fun on the right circumstances.

The main strategy I use is playing him as a M1 110%ms Killer as lame as that sounds but it works. This Strat needs you at least to be good on minigames and predicting how the survivor would react. Now the main two perks that carry me in trials are "Monitor and Abuse" and "Save the Best for Last", IMO you need these 2 perks to win with him.

With "Monitor and Abuse" Trickster's Terror Radius will become 16 meters, this TR can actually make him a Stealth Killer that results in Free Hits most of the time if you play stealthily as move out of line sight to the Generator.

With "Save the Best for Last" STBFL on him is actually pretty good as you can just use your power on the Obsession keeping a permanent 8 Stack which is pretty scary as a Survivor.

For the gameplay, I mainly focus on the jump of Survivors as 16 Meters is a small TR, I'm reiterating that getting Free hits will be common with M and A

    https://gfycat.com/coordinatedoffbeatiggypops-dead-by-daylight

For STBFL, It is so easy to get 8 stack as you can just get the drop of the obsession and bombard them with Knives. If they're not an Obsession then play it like a M1 Killer with super recovery, that recovery can make it so that you can just bombard the survivor with Knives after the Attack Cooldownn, This either makes it that you down them with knives(if they're in the open) or they will be forced to take cover in nearest loop where you can smack them again or stick 8 Knives again.

    https://gfycat.com/hatefulfixedbedbug-dead-by-daylight

For your "Main Event" I recommend that you don't use it if it's not necessary as the maximum thing it can do is injure a Survivor Twice but the worth thing it can do is let the Survivor Shift + W yo the nearest Loop as the Start time is pretty long and the Cooldown of not getting to throw knives hurts very much. This power can sabotage your game game rather that help you. BUT if a survivor is in the middle of nowhere and you're pretty sure that you can down them with 2 injures then go for it.

    https://gfycat.com/uniformwavycowbird-dead-by-daylight

If I encounter someone on a Strong Loop, A Good Looper or BS Map Rng, I'll just Leave them and find other survivor to ambush, you'll get another chance at injuring them in a worse loop or better yet get a free hit!

Now these are all the advice I can give for those who want to try trickster but are scared by the Community because right now it's a common thing to associate Trickster with Depipping easily. Remember you're a Killer, Screw those Survivors, It's not in the Eula/Terms that Camping, Tunneling or Slugging is Bannable or you can't do it. Burn the Survivor Rule book or Use it as Toilet Paper, Do what you got to do to get the 4K.

I'm just scared that me getting 4Ks and other high Skill Players with Trickster would give BHVR the DAta that he needs a nerf rather that a buff lol, Anyone in BHVR please buff him, he still needs it.

My Post on how I made him work and it was mostly ignoring his power.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239914/the-high-rank-dilemma

To be fair I don't see much of an issue with those builds.

    2 kindreds, 2 self cares, 1 power struggle, 1 leader, 1 WGLF.

DS has been nerfed now, so if there is any complain about it is because the killer actually tunnels and gets hit with it.

BT doesn't activate if you aren't camping or being run around the hook.

You're also using i'd argue the second best killer in the game, with all meta perks.

One of them used a shroud, which is exactly what a coordinated team wouldn't want to do, since they want to split on my multiple gens.

I don't really see what the issue is here? Red ranks is already full of spirits, so I dont think MMR will change much

Kindred is actually pretty good and underrated as it let's you see the nearby Killer, factor in that camping and tunneling is one of best way to deal with SWFs as honestly getting 5 Generators ins 6 Minutes is easier that Hooking Survivor 12 Times. With WGLF and those med kits, Slugging is harder as the Survivor can probably pick up and heal the slugged survivor in no time.

I much as I hate to admit it... I got hit with the power struggle in the match, I was like "Nani?! Bakana! Power Stuggle? Who even runs power struggle!?"

The leader perk is the only thing idk why brought that? maybe they confused it with prove thyself?

  • Also BHVR Don't try to make DBD an Esport until you balance this Dilemma as it's gonna be boring.

please stop calling some group of friends seal team 6

you're learning the game. ranks are awful in this game. i am sorry. but REAL seal team 6 squads are VERY few and far between.

however, considering your skill level, any team that has a minimal amount of coordination IS going to be a seal team 6 equivalent for you because of that. sorry, it's just how it is learning this game. hopefully, MMR improves your experience mang.

Yea sure, but even with Bad SWFs, the coordination is still there where they can optimize Gen Times. This happens a lot in Red Ranks where Survivor are potatoes in looping but as you're a Killer with no Map pressure "Clown on Red Forest Maps" 3 Generators can be done in 3 Minutes if you're playing for fun and not bringing anything Gen Slow perks which feels pretty unfair. Like in my experience in Red Ranks, you can have someone on Hook and someone slugged and see someone with BBQ and Chili Staying on the Gen and as a killer you can do nothing as leaving the hook to chase off that survivor doing gens at the other side of the map will lose the game for you.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

Not only that but SWF is gaining the system by always having at least one purple rank in their SWF while the rest are red rank. Just had a match where I faced off against three red ranks and one purple while I’m rank 12. I DC’d cause honestly I’m fed up with it. They raged at me saying why didn’t I play. I stated I’m not playing a match that is stacked unfairly against me. You all outranked me. They countered that’s not true cause we have one purple rank so that’s fair. It’s not. Not to mention they were all on comms. I should have known better than to even give a Twitch streamer a chance, I figured maybe he’s just streaming solo. Of course they never do. I watched his stream and of course he was telling his friends where I was, where to lead me, tell them which gen to work on, etc etc. I’m tired of Seal Team 6 sweat squads. It’s not fair. It’s really not. Devs are doing this on purpose I feel like. They want to give survivors low rank killers so survivors have a more enjoyable experience and less of a challenge. I’m sick of it. I’m not playing that way. Either fix the matchmaking or I’m DCing from now on.

More like there are less High Rank Killers like because It's easier to uninstall this game than win against constant high rank SWFs.

It's not fun, I rather play Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Doom Eternal on Nightmare because they are hard but feels fair but when I play against 4 Man SWFs Rank 1s it Hard and feels BS 90% of the trial.

I'm a Rank 1 btw getting Rank 1 Survivors too and I'm so close to taking a break again. if I take a break again the Rank 1s SWFs I'm going against will probably go to lower rank Killers.

  • @Zaytex said:

As someone who's played this guy nonstop and is coming to probably around 70-75 games with him and is adding him to the main list despite how gravely underpowered he is (but very fun).

All I'm going to say is, you didn't make Trickster work. The survivors made it work for you, that's it. Red ranks mean nothing in this game and not to sully your skill or insult you, but it doesn't really matter how good you are as Trickster, it just doesn't work if the survivors are somewhat competent at all. You'll only get beyond a 1k if survivors make serious mistakes.

Any competent survivor knows killer shack, jungle gyms and any tall kind of loop is just an infinite against him. He's simply too slow to land an M1 without bloodlust 2/3 and whilst he can land the occasional few knives if they're vaulting windows or rounding corners, the fact that you need to connect 16 of them to down the survivor, all whilst the metre decays mid-chase just makes it so it makes literal minutes to down a single competent survivor.

You may suggest ''Just leave them and go for someone else'' but I've been in games where all the survivors are fairly decent or good and it would also take minutes to down a survivor. You're in a lose lose situation. You either dedicate minutes and basically almost every generator for one down, or continuously abandon, restart and drop chases with zero downs or pressure made until the game is over.

That's it. I've legitimately had games where all the survivors were very good, on a decent or very good survivor map like Coldwind and never got a down or hook. It's THAT bad. The average result for me was a 1k, since I would down one guy as all the generators were finished and camp him, and maybe get a 2k if the survivors were altruistic or they made some mistakes previously.

I try to moonwalk, mindgame survivors, but I'm so incredibly slow it doesn't matter. They see it coming and can react. Playing killer shack or any strong loop against this guy reduces him to a 110 M1 Killer.

The only time this guy's power can legitimately down a survivor is on macmillian, autohaven or any short wall loops. But guess what! Huntress can do this as well, for much better effect since Trickster's lethality is just 1/8 of Huntresses.

The last clip doesn't even support what you're claiming. Sure, you downed two survivors, but they legitimately sat watching you approach them and only moved when you were within lunging distance and then ran into the open field with no protection or cover. Of course you're going to down them, they're defenceless there and made a serious mistake, any killer could do what he did there, in fact, Huntress could've done it faster and better.

He's just THAT bad, there's no two ways about it. Out of 75 games, I can count on one hand how many 4K'S I've got, and I can tell you it wasn't because they were very competent and I was the better player, it was because they were potatoes.

It's funny because the second I switch to my other mains, like Bubba, Demogorgon, Wraith, I'm suddenly getting an average of a 3-4k every other match without even needing to sweat. This guy? I'm sweating just for a 1k.

I'm sorry, but he's horrendous, this killer is E tier minimum and I applaud your post, but all I'm going to say is this guy only works effectively against 15-20 survivors.

TL.DR Trickster doesn't work against decent or good survivors. He needs major buffs, there's no way you can make him work, playstyle or perk wise. He's just THAT bad.

I did go up against competitive teams and actual good survivor and I loss most of them while getting kills only by being Dirty; Camping, Tunneling and Slugging. There's is no Killer with skill that can stand up against 4 actual good survivor except Nurse and Spirit but what I did is tunnel the crap out of the weakest one(if there is one) and camp and that usually results in them being altruistic and me getting carried by STBFL, but hey you gotta do what you gotta do, and BHVR designed that the only way Trickster to snowball is with this.

for them survivor mains that will be disgusted with these Strats blame BHVR as this is the only way we can get kills as Tricksters vs actual good SWFs.

Please refer to the Gifs below for examples:

Watch and share Carries By STBFL2 GIFs by br0kenher0tv on Gfycat

Devs this is a message if you're reading this. If a Killers need to play dirty and intentionally ignore his power to get Kills, he needs a buffs or a rework.

Especially your third GIF. Though that Cheryl and Nea were pretty butts as well.

it's the Monitor and Abuse catching them by Surprise. It's all fun and games until a hottie is smacking your butt by surprise. It's now panic inducing if you get smack by surprise and the killer has 8 stack of STBFL. Most survivor wouldn't think calmly if you get suddenly smack by a hot guy while knowing he has STBFL.

It's a sad day when you have to play a killer incorrectly to do well

Untrue, did tou see his Spotlight trailer? Not once in the trailer did he throw a knife. So BHVR was intending Trickster to be an 110% M1 Killer.

  • @immortalls96 said:

Ranks don't matter but I see your logic

It still matters imo, If I post about 4Kying a bunch of Rank 20s or Green Ranks, everybody will say Im full of crap and it is obvious that Trickster can rekt potatoes.

  • @TAG said:

Did you make him work, or is the average DBD player just not good?

Not sure yet, I can say I made him work but he is still early so most survivors dont know how to play against him and add to the fact that theres probably a small amount of people playing as Trickster on Red ranks. I did run onto a couple of OoO but lucked out of loops where I can use my power then down them pretty easily. I also run into a couple of Competitive SwFs but most got 2 kills by playing dirty which is Camping, 3 Gen and Tunneling.

  • @Irisora said:

You must have been very lucky with the maps there because not using bamboozle, crowd control or cruel limits with him is like losing before even starting the match. He really needs at least one window blocker perk.

No as you can see I won or got 4Ks on Ormond and Macmillan maps where you dont need Bamboozle. I also won Farm Maps, Badham Maps and Dead Dawg Saloon. I was not lucky with maps.

  • @Exerath1992 said:

I know people don't like this combo on gunslinger, but have you thought about combining M&A and Furtive Chase to give yourself 0 TR if you're lucky? Combine with STBFL and maybe discordance or pop?

Furtive Chase is kinda meh, in my games as trickster, it was quite common to be 3 or 5 mins in and I haven't hook someone. I rather get a reliable perks rather than go with my luck with furtive chase.

I'm not questioning your approach though. It's just lame from BHVR's design that the best way to play Trickster is to mimic a killer that is way stronger.

Yep, agree. I am also honestly worried that 4Ks with Trickster would let BHVR decide that he needs no change as others like Tru3 and Dowsey are also getting consecutive 4Ks. Even Almo the Dev are in the opinion of Trickster is alright because he got adept on farming survivors in basement.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

So basically play him like a Deathslinger with a 10 times weaker antiloop? Glad to see you got good results tho.

Hey, if it sounds stupid but it works, it ain't stupid. This is just a post on advices on how to win with him not stating he's obviously a weaker version of other killers

  • @Mattie_MayhemOG said:

There was so much negative feedback on these forums, how can you feel scammed when it was clear exactly how bad this killer was from the very beginning?

I know there was tons of negative feedback, it was the same with Blight and Twins where PTB they were bad but in their release they got decent. I thought this would happen to Trickster but I was wrong and now feel scammed

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Bhvr never said they were delaying to buff. They also listed the changes from PTB two weeks before release.

I understand the killer is weak and that's disappointing, but if you had waited even half a day to buy him, you would have seen what pretty much everyone was saying: Trickster is not in a good state.

They listed some* changes on twitter then got tons of feedback there too. Again I was thinking positive that maybe just maybe they'll listen to it. I didn't know that they would entirely ignore the community and fog whisperers.

  • @FireHazard said:

I can't say The Trickster is breaking records, but I also can't say his power isn't fun in a way either.

But that's usually when it works under the right circumstances. This isn't really a throw A and hit B type of Killer like Huntress or Deathslinger, it really does require some critical thinking in a match sometimes to make it work. I will say that his add-on Trick Knife makes for some really fun downs when paired with Thumb Drive.

That's something I hope they add to his base-kit (Both those add-ons), since it would add more damage to the power without requiring a speed boost. If not, then the speed boost is definitely needed if the focus for this power is gradual damage, rather then immediate.

All in all, base-kit is for a lack of better words a death sentence. But with the right set-up you can make it work-ish. But if the team knows what they're doing you're kinda doomed.

I know the basics, use the power on short height loops or in open space but the ones I go up against are either running straight to a strong and high height loops like shack and those loops on ormond and swamps where its better to just M1 rather to power. Another thing is why bother to use the main Power, the showstopper? You cant save it, cant use when you need it, and when you use it, has a wind up and a stun in the end?? Then you cant throw knives for a time like who comes up with this crap?

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

2, 3, and 4 I definitely agree with. If anything, movement speed while in knife mode should be the same as normal, with only a slight penalty to actually throwing knives. Plus, 115% speed. Maybe decrease the amount of knife hits required to get a down, too.

As for #1, that might turn out to be a bit abusable. Get the laceration meter to 7, M1 them with 8 stacks of STBFL, and then stab them once for an easy down. It might not be fun for everybody, but it may end up working to everybody's detriment.

Have you seen a STBFL 8 Stack Deathslinger?

if other Killers can do it why not Trickster.

With a good headset you can hear if he is getting closer along with his direction, that luarry reacted too late and should have vaulted earlier not to mention there is plenty of distance inside shack to get a fast vault before the saw hits you she vaulted way too early.

Still she messed up and you capitalize on it as a good LF should.

This is just my opinion again but there's really a small percentage of survivors who listen to sound while being chased like I can understand listening for Clown grunts and Demo Roars but its kinda hard listening to sound of the chainsaw while chase music is happening and Bubba is "Grgrgrggrgegggagggrjjs" and you know for sure that his near.

  • Im going Ruin, Pop, Tinkerer/Monitor and BBQ and Chili/Devour Hope.

i usually loop him for like 2 gens and get facecamped, then my teammates try to save me and then all of them get downed. he isnt a high tier killer, its just that people abuse certain mechanics as him

another reason why I said that Bubba has a great mindgame potential is because most people are expecting Bubbas to dumb and quite direct but for example here

Watch and share Dead By Daylight GIFs by br0kenher0tv on Gfycat

A Bubba that survivor expects would just go in the shack and bump into the wall/window but if you mindgame once in a while you'll get the result of the gif (note: Laurie was a good Survivor and rank 1 at that.

  • @swager21 said:

no he isnt. even though he is a low tier killer, you still fukin die to him no matter what

if you die no matter what to him, doesn't it make him a high tier killer then?

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

Windows and interconnecting tiles make it impossible to hit a good survivor with the chainsaw, in fact you're often having to use m1 until dead zones are created even with bamboozled.

Because of that and the fact that good survivors will force you to lose BL with pallets he can be ran easily if you know what you are doing and if you feel you're running out of options simply force him to m1 you at a vault.

If survivors are not doing that yeah he can stomp them but good survivors make it so your chainsaw often won't quickly end any chases or at least that chase will have an average time.

That's where mindgame potential comes in but let's be honest the loop you're describing sounds like a crappy RNG that the game always have but is rare I think. in that case I'll just leave the survivor then catch them off guard with tinkerer.
