No it is literally not true. As a killer you can just ignore a surv that is annoying you, but you can't do anything as a surv if a killer wants to annoy you. If the other player wants to make you feel bad, it is way easier as a killer to destroy a match for a surv then the other way around
Destroying a match empties it gets everyone , and there are plenty of obnoxious behaviors you can't just ignore

What do you mean by not really? Have you ever played this game? If you play killer And somebody annoys you, you can always leave him alone and do sth else, but if the killer wants to annoy the surv he can just camp, tunnel or slug you and there is literally nothing you can do about it.
A survivor is just as capable , the methods just differ

I agree, some of her mechanics have been stripped. But Spirit had too many mechanics in her favor, to the point where you had too much going for you. She still has mechanics to mind game loops and to get hits, but they're just not as free as they were before.
Strongly disagree, Shes just going to be another pallet eater, survivors have all the info now..while they can choose to give her 0..its exactly what survivors claimed she was doing to them but only this time it's true, all they needed was to remove her tr phase cloak and give a compromise, but instead they made her truley brain dead and unfun
-
@konchok said:
Spirit is undoubtedly harder to play now. However, in the areas where she is strong, she is still very strong. I feel that this is a good change. To do well with Spirit you can't just pick her up, you need to know how to play her well and understand her mechanics.
This is how strong killers should be. It should be somewhat difficult to do well with strong killers. But when you understand their kit they should shine. Nurse is this way, Blight is this way, and now Spirit is this way.
No, I'm not someone who just picked her up, I was there before she even existed, I've paid my dues in learning her mechanics..its just her mechanics have been stripped away , and you cannot say this is anything but that
-
@Veinslay said:
Why would you even bother playing Spirit at high MMR? Almost every lobby has 3 - 4 Iron Wills. It's annoying dealing with that as Spirit
Perhaps I enjoyed the killer and used to like playing her in a way that rewarded strategy and planning , now you cant..but I still try to enjoy her gameplay

Use your ears, use short bursts.
Sounds are buggy for killer on a good day and thanks to Iron will not even an option sometimes, and short burst don't work if they just hold w from tile to tile, plus they can still hear you and cp the pallet with safety, judging by this though I see why you think how you do in this matter

And whenever survivors make a good read and outplay me, I find myself complementing them. It’s just a lot of fun with new Spirit.
It's not a read, your blind, they are not

I’ve played against good survivors though, even some with Iron Will. Even without that much gen regression.

They nerfed the stand still 'mindgame'. That was the point and reading the dev's update, it's clear that's what they were eyeing.
As for the rest, directional audio is just similar to what she already had ages ago and then when she had bugged moans. It doesn't change her strength on 90% of tiles.
It 100 percent does

Considering high MMR, Spirit change is.. bizarre but can't deny she was low skill required.
Now she requires more skill and people will likely see more MDR spirit on high MMR.
Or more likely none

Is it fair for survivor to go down/lose if they don't screw up?
Yes, because it's 4v1..not 1v1, the killers actions should hold more sway and hence make survivors work together to achieve success

Why is my win rate with her like approximately 85% with her then?
Bot survivors..like seriously, otz got fifty wins in a row with legion..proves how bad some players can be..not to mention one of the new top perks has been disabled

@Aven_Fallen said:

Exactly.
And you can still mindgame with her, but now it is an actual mindgame and not just "I stand still".
So it's a mind game because survivors know her exact location at all times in and out of phase, while she has little to no feedback to work with..sounds familiar somehow
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Maybe you are just bad with Spirit? From what I have seen in Streams, played myself and read on the Forums, she feels around the same.
And even has a new Crutch-Add On.
Bot survivors will give that illusion
-
@GannTM said:
*Completely disregards Spirit still moves at 176% movement speed and is also still practically invisible*
Invisibility is useless if you know exactly where she is, and her speed is pointless if she cannot see or hear you..id suggest playing her before making marks that don't hold weight
-
And return to ignoring the games balance..?.ill pass..360 montages can take a seat for a while
-
If survivors are not knowledgeable of her and just run in the open she seems way easier than she really is, plus there's a lot of gsme knowledge needed too, Her difficulty extends beyond mechanical skill, map knowledge is just as important for blink gauging

the game will die before than happens tbh. at the highest level people wont even want to play no more, and search for friends with way lower MMR to have more fun wich is understandable, everybody has a limit on the amount of bullshit they want to take with 0 variety.
Well all the more reason to push for upgrades to the struggling characters , that's the only way to effect change
-
Killer variety will only get better when more killers are of a good quality

Lmfao if you're being fed information in real time then it's not a guess. This isn't even rocket science but keep trying to justify your lottery games.

-
@Myla said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2545544#Comment_2545544
Not really guessing. I know where the survivor is but I can't physically do anything about it because he reaches the pallet window regardless. What I'm doing in tiles is making him mess up and gain distance to lunge or make him drop the pallet faster. The only guess you'll be doing is mind games where for example stand still In a TL wall for 2 seconds hiding red light then resume chase which Otzdarva does.
Any time a survivor is behind a wall your guessing what they do, if your not then your brute forcing which means the killer has no other play so..not much better

I think the Spirit's nerf was justified since guessing games aren't healthy but its getting ridiculous that they're demanding Nerfs on blights now. A killer I have fun going against. Just want them gutted to the point that they're near extinction like Billy :l
Funny..guessing is what killers do at every tile, the spirit nerf wasn't handled proper
-
If you can't handle that that's not on blight, if he's wasting charges you should be on an area he can't get you easily
-
I think she should walk through it while flickering like pinhead, of course if these terrible changes don't get tweaked..she won't be seen much anyway
-
Mettle broke the game, undying did not..this post has no research in it
-

"They didn't even try to enjoy having really pay attention to the killer's movements and using what you learned to outplay the killer."
I mean you can't really read her movements because she gives no information lol.
You can, much like a killer has to do the same to survivors at tiles and behind walls with little to no info
-
I understand the all seeing change well enough, it was very strong , however removing his ability to play loops effectively will just make him trash again
-
Shes not invisible If you can literally follow her as she moves, and her Ms doesn't mean ######### at a lot of loops, even more so if the pallet is up and she's still blind mind you
-
After watching multiple tests, seeing as how you can you can tell both her position and patting from the sound its just way too far and ruins her theme
-
@ad19970 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2520063#Comment_2520063
Yeah, she is also much much faster in her spirit form, so even if survivors could actually see her all the time when they have line of sight, reacting to her will still not be possible often enough.
The question is how visible the dust will be. It has been stated that you will have trouble seeing it when she moves through grass and such. Spirit has scratchmarks and sound that she can work with as well.
If the dust is too visible, then I agree, that would be a problem. We'll see, they said that this change might not happen anyways now if the directional sound proves to be enough for fairer counterplay.
It shouldn't, it ruins her theme and gsmeplsy both, directional sound is already dangerous
-
Just remember , if we want the game to be more than it is, these growth pains were inevitable , at least now the devs can't deny what some have been saying for years
-
@ad19970 said:

killers can mindgame certain pallet loops already with 115% movement speed. I fail to see how she couldn't midgame survivors at any loop with her 176% movement speed.
Simple, she can't see, and the survivors can now see her, so she will be swinging blind literally while the survivor knows where she is via sound and dust, pallet rollback has also greatly increased pallet safety
-

How is it pointless? She can still phase at insane speed and mindgame survivors at any pallet.
Not if they know where she is

Indeed.
They did actually fix her beachball sized hitboxes at one point and made it more accurate to the hatchet's model, but all the 3000+ hour Huntress sweatlords suddenly found it way more difficult to hit anything, and their complaining got the fix promptly reverted.
No it was the fact her Hatchett were going through survivors because the survivor hitbox isn't form fitting and for good reason, huntress can't be changed unless they redo survivor hit registration completely

I don't think she'll be much worse but I'm sure the change of dust was to be inclusive of the impaired players that maybe can't hear but enjoy playing the game or maybe for people not using a headset. Plus you've still got your new add on that sends you back to the husk which will give a ton of mind game potential.
Your severely overestimating the tools this leaves her

lotifier? I don't quite understand your comment.
I doubt this will remove her though, it just gives her some actual, interesting counterplay. If she'll need some small buff to compensate for, maybe the devs could decrease the cooldown of her power.
That's not the problem, the problem is her power is nearly pointless like this..this isn't counterplay, this is handing free wins
-
@ad19970 said:
I hope the dust she kicks off isn't very noticeable and easy to spot. Otherwise I am very happy with these changes.
Also, the stand still mindgame was not a mindgame. You just stood there as Spirit waiting for the survivor to vault or run to you.
Phasing, and then reappearing at the exact same spot you started phasing, that could be seen as a mindgame, because now both Spirit and the survivor are guessing. But just standing still as Spirit is not a mindgame.
Even the directional phase is way too far, a lotifier shes phasing whatever, but this just removes here as a character effectively

The client side feedback would feel so disconnected if it waited for the server to validate it before playing for you, comparatively every hit would feel janky and disconnected in this method. With the system right now you only notice the validation when your input reached the server after your opponents input did.
Yet it still rolls back valid hits

@FrenziedRoach said:
Given the number of "both sides take a hit" I've experienced today from the killer side, I'm calling BS on the OP's opinion.

@T103 said:
Survivors suffered with bs hits through pallets for years, The new system makes it fair. You are kidding yourself if you think it’s survivor sided, pallet camping is still risky and isn’t 100% safe.
Pallets are designed to benefit survivors, not killers so bear that in mind when you think you are entitled to hits by swinging through a pallet. There’s always Spirit Fury & Enduring if you get sick of pallets.
Yes, it sucks to have it appear to “rollback” on you but hopefully that’s something the devs can iron out so it’s not as noticeable.
It's not appearing to roll back that is quite literally what's happening by the description of the system by the devs themselves, pallets arnt force fields and shouldn't act as such
-
@chargernick85 said:
######### happens. Killers had the advantage before this change.
That being said if I didn't hit....I should not be in weapon cool down? The cool down should end auto when server says NO HIT. All I ask.
The point is they did have advantage and for good reason, this change was not compensated for so now its just a net buff to pallet strength
-
@Seanzu said:
Why do people always act in the comment section like playing killer is some giga-brain task that takes 180+ iq to play? It's laughable whenever I see people "Well survivors can't handle doing to much, unlike me, a killer that also holds W & presses M1 occasionally".
Like lets not pretend the gameplay is so different you need a PHD to play one while you can play the other as a kindergartener.
There's a pretty stark difference in general effort involved
