You thought learning Nurse was bad? Get ready to simply play this killer!
-
Trickster: "Oh, you're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?"
Claudette: "I can't get downed by you without getting any closer"
-
If you do it enough you might get some baby survivors and you can finally try to get his adept!

It's called an opinion. People said blight was bad too and he wasn't.
blight has mobility and straight up a damaging attack.
what does trickster have? A power that needs LOS for 3 seconds and all knifes to land to injure a survivor and a 24 meter TR. Sometimes if you haven't downed a survivor you get main event and use that to do it or they just run around things so you can't hit them.
that's it, he can't switch targets or quickly injure with his power even remotely reliably.
-
@Marigoria said:
It's like people aren't gonna be good at the killer in just a few matches... People need to learn him first, then maybe we'll see if he's that bad.
jesus whenever you see this type of response you can't tell if it's a troll or not as he is just that bad
-
yeah pretty much, he is so bad you could play a 115% without a power and get similar if not better results.
-
they can be more creative
i say an idea where in his power trickster can dash a short distance the direction he's moving obviously with a cooldown i thought that was pretty good.
But even with that his power is just too weak.
-
NO, ELABORATE.
please tell me they didn't change his uncloak lunge or it it's at least a bug.

Trickster has snowball potential as well if you are a good player and hit all of your knives. You just don't like huntress because you have to hit the survivor more than twice with your power.
I'll take your troll with one sentence
good luck having a full 3 seconds of line of sight on a good survivor much less hitting all your knives.
-
I'm very aware
too bad i'll spend today trying to get adept trickster so it's not like the matches will be any enjoyable. Better to get it done now then later when survivors get used to him.

People are salty ^ but I just remind myself how Deathslinger was perceived when he came out.
Im here to remind you that he has the same exact weaknesses deathslinger has but an accurate deathslinger is simply more lethal in every situation.
So this combined with the fact that you need at least 3 seconds of LOS and every knife hitting to injure a survivor how can he be good when his power is garbage for anything other than 1v1's.
At least deathslinger can switch targets mid chase and potentially instantly benefit and he can use his power at max range and benefit meanwhile that will never happen as trickster unless they are nearly in lunge range.
-
this has got to be bait or a new player that simply can barely aim as huntress.
like the fact that huntress has amazing snowball potential alone makes her the best ranged killer.
-
@ThatOneMartin said:
I think I have to disagree. From my perspective, he just needs some time to get used to. I played a game with The Trickster and he seems quite decent, and some perk builds suit him quite well to be honest. So it's the same as with The Twins for me, you just need to get used to it. Should you not want to do so, you can still play using the other killers or survivors.
play a ranged killer like any of them, trickster only is good for 1v1's but unlike deathslinger and huntress he trades accuracy and lethality for a sheer amount of spam that if you even have half decent aim he will always eventually down the survivor.
that isn't decent it's bad since in the first place only being good at 1v1's in the 4v1 aspect isn't that strong as seen with deathslinger.

Freddy was released Oct 2017. His major rework hit PTB July 2019. People were given a year to figure him out.
It wasn't just people whining about how weak he was - the disconnect rate against him was astronomically high. He wasn't fun for either side.
Please get your fact straights before you present misinformation.
yup, all old freddy had was slow down strong enough to make games last 15-20 minutes
they literally won by just using up all the pallets it was boring and unfun.

I am not asking for your argument to change, I see very clear that you are unable to see the other side's opinion to further continue the discussion.
Saying things like "It is the survivor's fault" because the killer chooses to ignore everyone else in their path, only to hunt down that same survivor whose feet barely touched the ground after being unhooked 10 seconds ago, isn't even an argument of how bad of an argument it is.
The devs obviously created a timer for DS because they knew killers would not straight off tunnel off hook every single time.
Im saying they shouldn't risk deactivating it in your example DS would be active and if it isn't then the survivor is progressing the game by cleansing, repairing, or unhooking.
the only thing i don't like about new DS is healing deactivating it and as said i'm not against a stopping measure for interactions such as a total of 3 seconds before the perk deacuvates.
But if a survivor deactivates the perk they are responsible for the outcome sure the killer can tunnel but here's a question did that survivor deactivate it in under 40 seconds? During that time they can get healed and reposition themselves and from that point even if they are tunneled the result will be the same as old DS where they will get picked up past the 60 second mark.
The game doesn't need ANY forum of protection for survivors who try to progress the game once they commit to a totem. gen, or save they are fair game.
-
Yeah i agree with all of this except reducing it to 6 i would do 7 instead since he would be able to save his progress.

She touched a gen because she didn't think I was going to tunnel her out, which I did. Do you honestly think killers don't choose to tunnel someone out of the game? That it is always the survivor's fault? Because that is what I was trying to get at.
Go ahead and keep assuming that I am a low rank. If that's the best you got.
I am simply stating that Tunneling isn't as black and white as some of you seem to think. There is an abusive element which you (like others) refuse to discuss because you know that it is the same BS you complain about that DS supposedly gets.
If someone touched a gen for 1 second, that doesn't progress the game to something that would amount to "time lost" as a killer. I mean if that was the case, every killer would kick a 1% gen. Which if you do, then all I have to say is ..... "Choices". If someone repaired for at least 20 seconds of their DS timer then yes I would probably agree more.
There are ways a killer can track a survivor without needed to go back to hook, like bringing Nurses, Whispers, etc and it's not hard to memorize who just got unhooked. So while I am not saying that they shouldn't have looked into DS, I am also not going to sit around and pretend like it couldn't have been changed a bit different, let alone the fact that they did nothing to slow down the action of tunneling itself.
Again my argument hasn't changed she can stealth and more more aware of your actions.
if she tapped a gen then that's just a natural thing from when you could do so survivors should learn not to do that.
Also 20 seconds? hell no it should be at max 3 survivors should not be able finish off a close to complete gen. I'm not against this but no real progress should be allowed.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059567#Comment_2059567
No. She is not. I went seeking for her. I wanted to tunnel her out.
Then why did she touch the gen without recovering or if she did she should play more stealthly.
As said it's her fault, your argument is literally assuming they play the same way and the survivor isn't going to stealth or purposely not deactivate DS.
Playing this way will make you lose anyway so i don't care that much. good on you for wanting to stay in low ranks tho.
-
Yeah i really hate that this deactivates it, im going to go after survivors who deactivate it but this is the exception.
If i see a survivor who got unhooked healing themselves at best i will slug them as they are only trying to recover and it's so dumb that you can heal by other means such as another survivor and not lose DS.
-

The tunnel option is only presented if the survivor decides? LOL
Im sorry, so when I (the person playing killer) decides I want the easy down, and start to tunnel the freshly unhooked Claudette who barely even began to touch a gen, it’s her fault for touching it? Gotcha. 😂
yeah it is why didn't she heal or do a gen away from you?
she's the idiot that touched a gen in your presence.

@Yoonz said:
Don't play the Trickster then. People also called Freddy bad and then he turned into one of the easiest Killers to play in the game because of a few people whining about it before even giving anyone a chance to learn the new Killer.
freddy has mobility, natural slowdown, a good chase power, and semi stealth.
what does trickster have? Knives that at best take 3 seconds to injure a survivor and he can't switch targets because of both these and laceration decaying over time.
that's it, he has no other gemics or mobility just that and a 24 meter TR so while he will eventually down a survivor by the sheer spam of his power the other ranged killers do it faster.
The only thing this killer does better is dealing with bodyblocking once he gets main event.
-
@ArthurPadula said:
How many more of these kinds of mistakes are the devs going to make before they learn? Nerfing DS is ######### stupid. The two biggest problems in this game are tunneling and gen rushing. Why are the devs making tunneling easier for the killer? That's only going to give bad players more reason to do so.
they are nerfing gen rush as well by doing this and the tunnel option is only presented if the survivor decides so.
So overall imo a net gain to game health.

Why would I curve as Billy while with Bubba I can totally control my move? Curving is very hard to learn and very punishing if fail
Because if you play buba against good survivors his power won't get them unless they go to a dead zone and even then they will force you to m1 them at a vault before that happens.
Billy doesn't worry about that he charges his saw up and can curve to hit any vault location making it at least a 50/50 if the billy is just feathering.
-
400k BP since i will be going for his adept at R1 and i expect that to take a while so i'm not worried about bp and getting an optimal build.
Hopefully i get some swf's just messing around since he won't be winning any games where survivors are optimal on gens.

I tend to play M2 billy only at times. Lemme tell you how many times i've Overheated due to the fact that engravings makes up for 30% of that charge time. lol
Makes sense, i haven't ran engravings and since it increases charge time i can see how that would make overheating more common.

This is just my opinion again but there's really a small percentage of survivors who listen to sound while being chased like I can understand listening for Clown grunts and Demo Roars but its kinda hard listening to sound of the chainsaw while chase music is happening and Bubba is "Grgrgrggrgegggagggrjjs" and you know for sure that his near.
Still even then you shouldn't get hit in shack as you can wait in side and fast vault on reaction if he gets too close, vault then run around the building or revault.
I have ran a lot of bubs's and not once has this sort of mindgame worked on me because shack is pretty safe against this unless if the LF maybe uses speed addons.

My friend. Have you ever heard of Engravings Curving Hillbilly? =D
Yes but i don't think i have seen it in a public game.
-
Not necessarily as any killer but once the match hits a point of no return I start wiffing as i lost some interest as i know the survivors will die
-
@D3spair said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2058993#Comment_2058993
another reason why I said that Bubba has a great mindgame potential is because most people are expecting Bubbas to dumb and quite direct but for example here
https://gfycat.com/softearlydotterel-dead-by-daylight
A Bubba that survivor expects would just go in the shack and bump into the wall/window but if you mindgame once in a while you'll get the result of the gif (note: Laurie was a good Survivor and rank 1 at that.
With a good headset you can hear if he is getting closer along with his direction, that luarry reacted too late and should have vaulted earlier not to mention there is plenty of distance inside shack to get a fast vault before the saw hits you she vaulted way too early.
Still she messed up and you capitalize on it as a good LF should.

you don't get hit by curves if you understand what they are doing and play safe.
Even then a curve feels like a 50/50 the billy could also be feathering so you either commit and go to where the curve will obviously hit or you go to that save spot when the billy may have been feathering.
I haven't faced many good billys but shortly after his rework i faced a god billy who was doing stuff like this and landed a few curve saws on sheltered woods.
-
Well i consider myself to be someone who has multiple mains since i can't stand playing the same killer over and over again unless it's demo because i love him.
So i main Demo, Hag, Plague, and starting to main Nurse (I've been training off and on Nurse since like October last year) all on console.
So i would say i'm definitely a very patient person since i can play nurse very well on a damn controller. According to @Phasmamain im pretty chill which is also true as i don't often end games when I know i can if i think it will result in a more fun match for both me and the survivors and yeah what is up with Hag's either being bosses or just straight up sucking XD. I also play a ton of wraith which is funny since i'm a vet but i don't consider myself a wraith main as im just very good at the game and it doesn't feel like he has much skill to him besides where/when to uncloak as well as utilizing his speed boosted lunge.
-
Still a very good killer but he isn't as brain dead so a lot of players stopped playing him, a good billy will never overheat so all it did was prevent him from constantly trying to set up a saw hit.
I think they did change his curving but you can still do it, if i don't see a billy curving i assume they are not that good at him.
-
You got the nectar vial it shows your somewhat of a longtime player, it also looks cool.
Still i wish they didn't just give those hard AF exclusive cosmetics to every player just because some didn't play during the events which is literally the concept of time limited exclusives but now we have exclusive charms!!!
LOVE HOW FAST THE DEVS WENT BACK ON THEIR WORD WITH EXCLUSIVES BY RE-INTRODUCING THEM IN BASICALLY THE SAME YEAR, because it totally wasn't hard to grind for them back then with how buggy the game was and during one event the game literally crashed every 2-3 games not including the crashes mid game.
-
Windows and interconnecting tiles make it impossible to hit a good survivor with the chainsaw, in fact you're often having to use m1 until dead zones are created even with bamboozled.
Because of that and the fact that good survivors will force you to lose BL with pallets he can be ran easily if you know what you are doing and if you feel you're running out of options simply force him to m1 you at a vault.
If survivors are not doing that yeah he can stomp them but good survivors make it so your chainsaw often won't quickly end any chases or at least that chase will have an average time.

What’s sad is there is no way to realistically fix this problem. The devs endorse SWF with comms and encourage it. So messing with SWF is a no. If you buff killers to compensate then survivor mains will just complain hard about it not being fair of solo q(which I believe is slowly dying off. I’m starting to get more SWF than randoms cause everyone has figured out that they have a huge chance at success with SWF)
They can do something about gen times at the start of the match, have you heard about the trail start up idea?
Basically for the first minute or so of the match all generators have a very heavily repair penalty that goes away when the timer is up or the killer gets a down, would really help in games where survivors are all split on gens and 2-3 get done right after you hook someone and against solo que it doesn't give that much of an advantage as solo's most of the time also do the same thing.
-
At night i will rarely play killers i can't do well with that have a chance against the average swf that plays like that.
The only killer I play during this time that you might say can't deal with it is demo but i end chases so stupidly fast and snowball swf's stupidly often as him that i play him anyway. People really underestimate shred and that causes them to get downed as they don't think a shred can land in X spot when it can. Even if i don't win as often as say if I play Spirit instead i find the matches more fun.
-
Too much counterplay and too punishing, only good against uncoordinated teams as well as teams that don't know how to verse her.
Big tip if you are being chased by victor while injured ALWAYS go into a locker, this forces charlotte to go to you and stops any snowball spreee that would have occurred.
-
The most toxic are SWF's imo
You decide to play trapper and load into a game forgetting to check the lobby, BAM you have an OoO and they are obviously going to follow you. You try to ignore them and set up but they disable your traps and you are forced to go for them only for 3 gens to pop in the chase. They are pretty good and you try to leave them but they get healed right after and follow still follow you. Fast Forward to later in the game with not a single trap you have set up being left untouched and the match ends with you having less than 3 hooks and the entire swf T bagging and flashlight clicking you.
That is how one of my trapper games went a long time ago. Since then I tunnel and camp all OoO's I see because screw that perk and anybody that runs it.
-
What do you mean?
Just use the new survivor portraits on the left side of your screen!

I know for a fact there will be threads demanding the devs revert the DS change. Anytime they make a major change like this there are people who yell at it. Regardless if the change is actually good for the game.
Evil Genius 2 comes out tomorrow so I'll be playing that instead. When I'm done with it I might come back to killer. "might".
Yup because they can't do this anymore without getting punished, because apparently the killer shouldn't go after unhooked survivors no matter what.

or maybe the SWF team just doesnt want to die, and doing gens is almost always the smartest idea. Don't take a teams actions as something personal.
does that mean that the match needs to be 5-6 minutes long with them constantly doing gens with nearly no one on death hook at the end?
Against a trapper? or any kinda weak killer?
No, they are playing purely to win regardless of how fair or fun it is.
edit: it's fine to try to win but using literally everything at your disposal to do so when it REALLY isn't necessary is toxic to me.
-
I wanted a less colorful, more dreadful outfit.
Like i'll take a goth outfit or something im just not a fan of colorful skins.
-
He escaped before the game could grasp his soul...
QUICKLY FORCE HIM TO WATCH HIGHLY SKILLED STREAMERS TO INSPIRE HIM OTHERWISE HE WILL ESCAPE FOREVER!
SOMEONE SHOW HIM THE DLC!
-
If i see a swf using full meta and gen rushing i would consider that toxic, that isn't a fun game to play and im assuming it probably wasn't very fun for them either. Same thing with killer who tunnel and camp to kill one guy early as that is forcing them to depip and isn't fun at all for anyone other than the killer if they are into that.
As for long chases no it isn't toxic to last that long the killer needs to know if they should cut the chase if the survivor is good and reaches tiles that connect to each other, i also don't think it's that toxic to camp that survivor either as they have accepted the loss to kill the one that they were not good enough to get plus that survivor probably safety pipped.
For tunneling if the killer found the same survivor a minute or so after that isn't tunneling and the killer at least in high ranks can't let them go as they need pressure but if they ignored other survivors for that person I would categorize that as trying to get an early kill.
other people can disagree with me that's fine we all have our own thoughts on what is what in this game.

A killer shouldn't be judged at how well they can slug all four. He can throw projectiles so that automatically means very little counterplay. He can throw over pallets, out in the open so with 60 knives if you can aim well he is going to be lethal.
yeah in a 1v1 but at BEST it takes around 3 seconds to injure with that power if you run addons and hit all the knives so you're not going to be able to deal with multiple survivors without getting an m1. (not counting main event)
Im not judging by how well he can slug just his options. As he is his power isn't very useful for anything other than dealing with bodyblocking or 1v1's.
