It's not a free win but easier game for sure.
Corrupt, Ruin, Pop every game. What is this? Easy free early pressure/easier game.
Most killers are 100% ruin dependent. They don't know how to play without ruin and blaming "gen rush". The killer main term.
Have you seen competitive DBD? What if its like that? I am here in South East Asia facing against 10K Hours Survivors who are on Tournaments. Games are 5 mins at most if you don't bring ruin and you have a high MMR here.
My average Survivor on my games btw.
and I beat them with this build.

Literally killers will dodge swfs until they get solo queue survivors for easy matches. I get it, I don't like going up against swf squads either when I play killer but killers would abuse this to bully solo queue survivors who already have enough on their plate.
Why is it "Easy Matches" When the game is balanced around Solo Queues?
-
@Mert_MK said:
By that i don't mean the tiles that spawn in the map (though more often than not, i get unlucky with those as well) but instead the maps you get when you don't use an offering.
As Survivor i keep getting indoor maps (especially hawkins.. no way they didn't secretly increase the chance to get the map since it's leaving soon, thank god for that at least). And if it's not indoor it's another garbage map like Shelter Woods
And as Killer i'm getting maps i would much rather want to get as Survivor like Haddonfield, Coldwind maps etc.
It's so infuriating.
I feel you but on my case, When I'm Killer on a Map it's Pallet City but when I'm Survivor on the same map it just a bunch of Deadzones.

Could we at least wait til after the dev update?
Maybe with the introduction of Boon Totems the Hex totems will get an appropriate change so the killers and survs can fight for the dull totems.
not saying this will likely happen but it is possible, and they have said the dev update will have plenty of news,.
There we go, No changes on Totems Spots. BHVR just said 4 survs can have 4 Boon Totems. Deal with it.
-
@R2k said:
It's called random. U can't just make totems spawn only in hidden areas or outside of gen radius. When survivors figure out totems can't spawn near gens or in open field they will find them even faster.
Okay why does Survivor get to pick their totem spots for their Boon Totems then if its supposed to be random?

uh he was playing as bubba and oni
I was a survivor when the Killer was Oni, my point is at the higher ranks it's just the same perks again and again.

or just do what other game do.
Make it so that if a players received too much of a hacking report they go to a special queue where they go up against players with similar numbers of hacking reports.
Basically Flying Ghostface with Infinite Hatchets vs 4 Infinite Sprint Burst and Insta Heals Survs.

I know some here will insist tunneling etc are legit tactics, but, let's make it a little challenge:
How well do you play without it? Some rules:
- No tunneling, camping or slugging
- Even if a just unhooked survivor runs into you, ignore them.
- Unless you have hooked someone else in the meantime and they had enough time to heal up (as long as there's more than two survivors left)
- Going back to the hook and going after the unhooker is okay.
- No crutchperks (e.g. No m&A on slinger)
Let's see what you ca do :)
Can I hit the Unhooked Surv if he bodyblocks with BT?

I still know some very great chainsaw Billys (some are streamers): they are mainly playing for fun, but they can choose to make some decent & legit 4k very fastly (perfect blinks & turns). So I'm convinced it is still possible to play him only with his M2 in spite of his demolished remake...
BTW Wraith is a just another boosted buffed stealthy M1 killer (cloak/uncloak free M1 & so on...). His gameplay isn't a big challenge...
And Bubba can easily make 4k with an unfair & unskilled gameplay (forcing surv to drop early all pallets with his chainsaw or to down them if they don't).
It's definitively not the same gameplays.
No, I want more Buffs to Billy making him to be the Strong and Literal "Easy" Killer he deserves.
Right now he is tagged as an "Easy" Killer. Maybe I'm not seeing correctly but Hillbilly is not an Easy Killer.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
Have you ever tried Leatherface? The superior serial killer? It might be a bit easier with mmr and you even get to use your chainsaw!
Yea, Bubba really is an A tier compared to Billy, But NO! Who will play Billy to give crap data if not us Billy mains that can be counted in 1 hand?
-
@M1MASTER said:
Just quit Billy and switch to better killers like everyone else did. There's a reason why you never go against him.
Without the good add-ons his chainsaw is just way too clunky for you to down actual good survivors unless they really mess up or get caught in dead zones. And then you have to deal with RPD and other trash indoor maps. No thanks
If I abandon Billy who else would suffer the frustrations? I'm doing my best give BHVR their crap data so my bro Billy can have his Wraith Treatment.
-
NICE exactly what I was referring to on the Title.

@SunderMun said:
While I do think stretched res needs to be dealt with (only way is for the devs to make it so that changing resolution doesn't literally change FOV and idk how easy that is in all honesty) this imo isn't that big an issue given how most times he's so laggy you can't even begin to reveal him half the time lol. Literally had multiple games recently where he's dead centre in my screen, I even tested by walking up right against him, and no sound or anything.
You don't need him to at the centre, you need him at the Top

Seems like this person's MMR was inflated by winning continuously in the old, flawed ranking system, and needs to be adjusted.
By this logic, who can defeat this team of survivors if not the man who had 50 Win Streaks on Ghostface.

I do not understand your logic here. You're saying that this team should have been matched against a better killer? Isn't this the guy that posts 50 game winning streaks online constantly?
If the best team is against the best killer, you can't really gain any understanding from one match. If this team and killer went 10 matches, what would be the outcome? Shouldn't one side win sometimes and the other side win sometimes?
I guess the insinuation is that after a certain skill level, there is no killer that can compete? So then what? That team just gets no matches?
Otz did not win any matches against well coordinated Teams though. He only won with Weaker Teams or just played sweaty af which got pretty boring fast.
-
@NerfedFreddy said:
"Otz lost" - game is unbalanced
"Otz is on 100th winstreak with Plague" - perfectly balanced how as all things should be
i like watching Otz when he is actually challenged and compete, watching otz farming ez lobbies of clueless survivors in never-ending killer power fantasy is boring for me
My point is that with SBMM on, the game is pretty boring and sad. The Streamers on High Rank would probably last 1 month tops before taking a break on DBD as how sweaty and boring the high rank games were.
-
@Aneurysm said:
I say this every time on these posts and never really get an answer. This team is in the matchmaking pool, whether MMR is on or not. If not someone like otz, who exactly should they be paired up with?
They should be paired with Killers at their level. But due to Balancing, a Good Killer will never win against a Good Survivor Team.
-
@burt0r said:
But at the same time high ranking mmr on all games is the same and is an excellent point to look for balancing things because those "pro" player know how to use everything to the maximum potential.
So when the devs of those games use the top to balance and nerf stuff to make more things viable at that level then it gets more accessible for everyone below without the lower ranks becoming dependent on over performing things. Like many survivor runs second chance perks and many killer run gen slowdown.
Also an argument why balancing from the top is that everybody can and "will" ultimately reach that level with enough dedication.
Scott Jund pointed out that the Devs will never base their balance at the top as they won't care as 90% of their target audience is not there. He even showed Mclean(When he was a dev) stating that it's cool that there are people who are interested in the competitive aspect of DBD but ultimately they don't want to focus on that aspect.
-
@chargernick85 said:
Did he lose all his games over the weekend?
No but it was a sweat fest. Otz did not have a chance to play nice as "Playing nice" would mean his Rank would go down. For example he could not even give hatch as SBMM Rank would probably go down and he worries that would mean he's manipulating his rank to play with weaker Teams.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/273626/high-rank-sbmm-is-sad
I really see that as a great game where Otz had to actually try and win but still lost, rather than a game where he gets a 4k in 5 mins even in rank 1.
Games where you are actually challenged is fun, this is what I define fun in DbD.
I see your point, I agree somewhat but If the Killer tries his hardest but get's cucked due to balancing then it's not really fun imo.
-
@kodiaky said:
I just gave up playing killer for now. I am rank 1 killer and i dont play nurse. So it is a terrible experience. Normally 3 gens are done before the first down unless i am playing spirit,deathslingler or blight.
Same Experience here lol, As A Survivor and Killer, 2-3 Gens are done by the time of the first down.

Are you seriously complaining about loops with an antiloop killer? Those loops aren’t safe against nemesis
So I can't complain about the RNG of the loops just because I was Nemesis? Then what if I was a Clown? I can't complain even then?? I'm complaining about the RNG as this can happen with All Killers like Clown, Legion and Myers.
-
Update latest match as Clown:
Entity gave me a sick 4 Gen in the trial. Won the game easily as I camped my Survivor inside my 4 gen. I guess I was "skillful" here
-
@burt0r said:
Or maybe, just maybe, they can use that finally as point of reference to balance around?
To balance something you need at least one fix point to work with.
Either the would have to balance around some criterium they as the devs set and then create a matchmaking with that balance or do what i said in the first paragraph and use this (maybe) working matchmaking and then create balance with that.
Scott Jund's idea is basically, Devs would never care about the balance issue in Higher Brackets (He even shown Mcleans statement that they don't want to focus on the competitive balanced of the game.)

@unluckycombo said:
I wanna know how the Wraith didn't get a first hook after 4 gens going while he was running both All-Seeing and Silent Bell on Hawkins. That's p wild to me with how many unsafe pallets there are, and with how no one had Spine Chill. (To be fair to him though, he didn't have an amazing build either, so...)
But still, it's kinda just the way that high-level games have always been. Maps swing way too far one side or the other (Like, Haddonfield still has all of the windows open in House of Pain, and that is absolutely disgusting on it's own, without mentioning everything else on that map.) Things like this are also why there's perk band and such with tournaments, because teams stacking so many great perks+communication (I know you're not playing in a SWF, but some SWFs do play like this) is absolutely nasty to verse for any Killer.
To be fair to the Devs as well, I think they'd have a lot of work on their hands if they want to balance around high MMR with the system, and I have no idea how they'd even start tbh. (Maybe by nerfing Trapper? /s)
Oracle rekted Tru3Talent's Wraith with True only getting like 3 Hooks Max. That's something to think about.

no. If you have problems with pallets and don't know how to play them just don't respect them and force the drop. That's all. Pallet is gone. No more safe place for survivor
Then is that the trick to winning The Game map where its 20+ pallets with all of them safe?
-

And these are easiest tiles in the game
Wouldn't the doubled pallets make it more safer than a god loop?
-
@landromat said:
these 2 pallets are not safe against Nemesis
Again, just to reiterate. Those 2 pic on the main post are not the same tile. It is two different tiles on the same trial.
-
@EntitySpawn said:

When you have 3+pallets about 1-5meteres between come back to me. Or at least a double pallet at these loops
In a different angle
Maybe look a little closer? It is a double pallet loop.
Edit: Those two pic on the main post is not the same tile, it is two different tiles with double pallets loops in the same trial.
-
@landromat said:
these 2 pallets are not safe against Nemesis
It's safe against a survivor who knows how to loop vs a 7 feet tall m1 Killer (Tier 1 nemesis)
Edit: those 2 pics are from different tiles on the same trial, that should never happen.

You were against a swf with 3 BNPs, a shroud to spawn together and prove thyself. That is a very rare thing.
This happened on my 2nd match with MMR ON after 4King, I 4Ked again soooooooo technically this would make my Nemesis go against with a more stronger build that these SWF. With every Kill with MMR On, the more you have a chance of encountering this build.
These will not be a rare thing if you have a high MMR.

Fair enough, I only checked Titles and not the threads itself.
" What could have stopped these guys from using those 3 BnPs on the last Generators?"
You? The Killer? You know that you are responsible for removing Survivors from the game?
Touché, I agree. In this case I got lucky and they really did used all those Crap on the Gen, you want to stay away from the most. But still as a Killer Main I would hate this to happen to me. Can you imagine being a New Purple Rank Killer seeing this crap for the first time? For me, I got lucky and handled it but Killers in the lower ranks would probably not. That is why I'm saying this is not balanced.
-
@Marigoria said:
I don't understand, you 4kd and are complaining about gen speeds?
19 seconds for a Gen to pop is not okay. I can handle it as a killer but can other handle it. (Casual lower MMR Killers). There's no stopping lower ranked survivors to doing this on their Killers you know.
-
@Troman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2424460#Comment_2424460
There is no problem. Gens pop fast at the beginning, because there are 4 healthy survivors. And later gens get popped very slow, as survivors get hooked, injured, sacrificed and the fact that your got a 4k proves it. I don't understand the "problem" at all.
What stop these "Balanced gameplay" from happening in the lower ranks? My point is a generator should not be popped in 19 seconds.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2424940#Comment_2424940
Because this is the actual match outcome. Why does the first Gen matter? This means nothing for the match, the first Gen is always the easiest.
@Topic:
You got a 4K. How many Gens were left when you killed all Survivors? As I have written above, the first Gen does not matter, the goal is to prevent Survivors from completing all Gens and escape, not to end the game with 5 Gens up.
I had thread on it but it was about DC penaties
@D3spair said:
You'll get survivors like these... I'm seeing people here that are suggesting that DC Penalties should be removed permanently as "Why should I stay on an unfun match I don't want to be in."
To those people, I say maybe the match is unfun because it's your damn fault?
Please look at example video above of 3 people DCing. I left Leon pretty generously (Zarina was working on a gen right next to the shack) to pursue my first Tinkerer pop but Zarina and Claudette instead of saving him committed to their Gens. If someone was just tad bit more altruistic, the game would have resulted very much differently.
TL;DR: It isn't always the Killers fault the game is unfun and you want to DC. It can also be Survivors fault for being too greedy on holding M1.
On a side note: if I was not a Blight here, 3 Gens would have pop 1 minute and 30 secs to the trial. I guess Generator Speed are fine then?
Edit: They loss because instead of saving Leon, The last two survivor committed on getting their Gens done. That was their mistake, It was not my fault they got all downed in 2 Minutes.
My point here in this thread is that, Is it my fault that the First Gen popped in 19 secs? What could have stopped these guys from using those 3 BnPs on the last Generators? Is this really balanced?
-
@Jasix said:
So you are complaining you got a 4k and 30k points.. uhh ok.
So your problem is you had to work for the 4k???
I love when survivors bring BNP etc - I actually like a challenge. I would rather work for my 4k and BP than feel like I am railroading survivors.
I also love going against SWFs because that is more of a challenge than 4 solos who are disorganized.
Guess the difference is that some people actually like the tenseness of facing competent survivors with good perks and items.
Maybe that was when MMR is off? Have you considered MMR being On will make the chance of taking on these kinds of Sweat Team higher? I can handle sweating for like 1 or games a week but having Sweat games forever? Nah imma just uninstall.

you are also type of a guy who like to complain. Maybe you aren't that good to play without addons having such whiney attitude. I mean mmr is on and you will face actual challenging matches instead of playing 4k walking sim against random ranks lobbies like it was before
This is why I hid the results, People will assume here "So what? you 4Kd them and without Add Ons right?" but the problem is still there.

You should be glad they used their BNP's in the first (and also a corner) gen. This could be way worse if they used to counter a 3-gen setup and rush through a final gen. Doesn't look like real high MMR to me, just friends having fun.
Also, if you don't like this happening, swap your ruin + undying for pop + corrupt. That's way more consistent on high mmr.
I tried Corrupt + Pop on Nemesis but as nemesis it's too inconsistent as sometimes you'll never get Pop with too little pressure by Nemesis. Ruin + Pop + Tinkerer is the best combo I found so far to work the best with me.

Isn't the point of the MMR to match these two highly skilled parts together? Yes, being the top of the top is hard, but that's how it's supposed to be after all. Right now what we're getting are high-skilled Killers/Survivors against average casual players. I guess it may be fun for the high skilled side to wipe out the opponent but it's not really a challenge for them
I agree that is the case for now but what would happen in the future when Casual Players turn into Great Players? My idea is that eventually every casual player will turn into a better player where they have to eventually get to High Skill MMR.
-
@playhard said:
what really cool, you can die in as survivor in consecutive 5 match so you will matchmaking with low skill killer
Another problem is why would you lose MMR or ELO points when Dying? What if you looped the Killer for 5 gens? BHVR will go "Oh dang you looped this killer for 5 Gens and died, oh well here get matched with an even weaker skilled Killer"
Edit: this assumption is based on the current pip system as a Survivor if you looped a Killer for 5 Gens, the maximum BP you would probably get is 15K.

@CornHub said:
You say that like playing this game is hard.
Can you win against the following?
- God Nurse
- A Spirit with Iri Ring and Purple Amulet
- Blight with the Alchemist Ring and Blighter Crow
Even if you say you can win against these Three, Can you win every single time as these are what most Killers will probably in High Skill MMR?
On The Killer Side, Can you win against a 4 SWF with UB,DS,DH and BT(every single one of them) with Purple Items(Instaheals) every single time?
These is what it means to be in Highest Top of the MMR for us. It's hard.

there's plenty of RNG in Dota2 and that game has the largest prize pool in all of gaming. Chaos Knight is literally built on RNG. Ogre Magi as well. He purposely sounds like a slot machine because you don't know if you're going to cast something Once, or Four times.
Also, League of Legends, Runes, and Summoner Spells.
Since it's Inception, Flash has and always will be the most powerful summoner spell for 90% of situations. What does that sound like? the perks that are used the most frequently by both killers and survivors in DBD. They work, they aren't niche and they are powerful. Wow, it's the same thing.
There will always be runes that surpass others, hell they got rid of the old rune system because they couldn't figure out how balance hundreds of runes. Runes in its current form, while far simpler, still has its shining stars that make other runes appear obsolete. Kleptomancy had to be removed due to it's strength. The illusion of choice is a trait that both DBD and LoL share.
League now also has plants that spawn randomly that can affect terrain traversal, sustain, and vision. Oh, and the dragons spawn at random as well. Never know what type of major buff you'll get.
Don't compare Competitive symmetrical games with DBD. A Good Killer will never win against a Good Survivor Team on a Survivor Sided Map. If you're gonna compare 1v4 to 5v5 or 4v4. Can someone else carry the Killer?
Sure there's RNG on those games but RNG in DBD means that a Map can have 20+ Pallets to only 8 Pallets!

You never get something right the first time, it takes trail and error to get something right. MMR has worked successfully in other games and will work successfully in this game unless the Devs take your advice and just give up.
Other games that are symmetrical. Evolve was an Asymmetrical game where they focused on MMR and turning it into Esport. That focus became one of the reason it died as The 4 "Player" working together perfectly would mean that the "Monster" will never stand a chance. (If this sounds familiar then MMR is a bad idea)
