Once again, hide Prestiges or people will keep dodging.

Whenever I SWF - usually once a week - I do it with 3 friends who are also P100. In a normal 5-6 hours of game play we see maybe 2-3 killers dodge total. This is on par with what I see when I solo as a P100. As a killer I could care less if someone is a P100 - I neither see it as a challenge or any type of intimidation. The only time I dodge as killer is when it is either someone I know (like a friend) or when it is someone I remember being extra stupid in end game chat or have come into my stream and been an idiot. Dodging due to Prestige level is not as rampant as some people make it out to be - I think more people are just dodging the person for whatever reason...rather than the prestige level.

  • Some friends and I decided to do some Prestige 100 SWFing - In 4 hours of games we had a whopping 2 killers dodge.

We then switched to just random survivors ranged from P3-6 and in 3 hours of SWFing had 5 killers dodge.

Want to know the difference?? Flashlights and Toolboxes were equipped on each of the P3-6 characters and the P100s each one carried a different item or no item.

If players are dodging because of Prestige level - that is their choice. Assuming that any type of skill relates to Prestige is so inane.

  • It's actually a very easy thing to do I found out. In Steam you just go to the launch permission and type:

    -HideAllHud=1

  • For those who have asked:

Subbed to newsletter on the same day of the tweet: Feb 21st.

Have all Behaviour and DBD updates selected on my actual Behaviour account. Glad it was only 75k BP I didn't get... but annoyed that it is apparently not working. It's Behaviour though so I am not surprised it isn't working for everyone ;)

Other than the tome stuff, I've stopped playing survivor. When I play survivor, my awareness is everywhere at all times. Thanks to the forced 'new wiggle mechanic' my awareness when I'm on the killer's shoulder is now reduced to the skill check only, instead of my surroundings to make proper call outs.

Near 4k hours and 3k of it in survivor; now I have to abandon ship and play killer exclusively. Not that the devs care or anything.

LOL - Please tell me this is a joke.

  • This happened to me a few days ago - Thought I was going crazy. Still have the daily - hopefully they fix it.

  • I actually find that I pip faster/easier when playing solo survivor.

I think it is because when SWFing I tend to be too altruistic and willing to die much easier for friends than strangers. When playing with strangers - when end game hits it is every person for themselves LOL. Meanwhile I will always die for a friend - so that probably explains a lot of why I pip faster solo.

  • LOL. Or people could just stop trying to tell others how to play the game.

I play to win - whether I am playing survivor or killer - plain and simple. I don't care what perks/items survivors bring as killer nor do I care what killers use when I play survivor. You do you - if others don't like it - that's their problem.

Wanna "gen rush" - go ahead

    Wanna tunnel - go ahead

Wanna be a sabo squad - have fun

    Wanna face camp - cool

  • I faced 16 Knights out of 21 matches today...so I guess your mileage may vary.

Tomorrow I will be playing killer - I will probably play him a few matches and then move on to other killers. I don't like playing the same killer over and over and over aside from my main.

Flashlight cooldowns and the ability to choose Killer and Survivor challenges in the rift?

Is this really the entire update that we'll be getting? There isn't any perks that you might think need adjusting? No killers or addons that might be overperforming?

I say this because I think most of the community agrees that Basekit Unbreakable and the Finishing Moris portion of the update is garbage and isn't even worth testing, let alone be given a chance to enter the game.

Hope the Halloween Event is good I guess :L

Please speak for yourself and not "most of the community" because you have no idea what MOST of the community thinks.

How is removing a feature (characteristic) that people have enjoyed and associated with DBD all these years being removed good for the game? At a time when people are definitely not enjoying survivor, this is the worst thing you can do.

Some people are not enjoying playing survivor - please don't act like you speak for anyone but yourself. Any purposeful or inferred group consensus is the tactic of the desperate to attempt to validate their personal opinion. If the inability to macro click a flashlight because it can cause physical harm to another human being who has every right to play the same game as you - bothers you - that says A LOT about you.

  • They were toxic because they slammed hatch in your face?? Uhh ok.

I'm raising this again because it's getting beyond a joke. Maybe it's because I'm iridescent 1 level and I'm being paired with higher ranked killers and there's a disproportionate number of cheaters at that level, but I played a few hours this morning and I kept track of the obvious cheaters and it was around 60% of the games I played, but I can guarantee there's a massive issue. There are a few giveaways:

    • the killer is running absolutely zero aura based perks (why would they?!)
    • they make a beeline to the nearest survivor every single time in open play
    • they know exactly when someone is making a dash to unhook a surv and will abandon a chase to prevent it
    • they can predict your movements with 100% when they lose line of sight
    • they never go patrolling to areas where survs aren't
    • they are only interested in finishing the game as quickly as possible, they'll tunnel survs if that's the easiest way
    • they never let the last surv escape (I'm not saying they should, but some killers do this after a good game, but it never happens with a cheater)
    • they immediately find the last surv, even if they're hiding all the way across the map in a very unusual place
    • when it comes to close quarters, they're not actually very good killers against even half decent jukers

Consequently games are over really quickly, survs might get one generator in the first rush if the first surv is a good juker, and maybe one more if they're really lucky. It's just a repeating pattern that is wholly at odds with my considerable experience in the game. It seems other survs are detecting the same thing because now I'm seeing far more disconnect, or deliberately die asap, or change their playstyle as soon as the first surv gets hung because they know there's no point in trying to play a normal game.

I suspect I'll get a bunch of more comments telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, but before you do so remember that these killers have 100% awareness of every survivor all of the time and absolutely zero aura perks to justify it. Try ranking up as a surv and see how it goes, based on the numbers you'll encounter it pretty soon if you've got the game awareness to detect it.

Being Iri 1 has NOTHING to do with MMR - You keep saying that as if it does. Your GRADE has nothing to do with your matchmaking.

The rate of hackers is tracked by a lot of high tier players and on average it is around 2-4% of games - so no I doubt you are that good at the game where you are getting 15 times more hackers than comp players and high profile streamers. I don't NEED perks to make educated guesses that pay off the majority of the time - why?? Because I have 2k hours as a killer. Survivors; especially survivor mains who do not play killer, are very predictable in their pathing and behavior.

And yes the REPORT feature does work - if you are supplying actual proof instead of just rambling on about how you suspect cheating. You can't accuse people of cheating and expect anything to happen without proof - common sense. You have provided no proof in this thread aside from your anecdotal "They must be cheating because I say so" statements.

At first I just assumed "good killer". But so many weird things started happening that I began to take more notice. For example: one game playing against Dredge he was downing and hanging survs at a rate so I assumed he had BBQ & chilli. So next time he downed someone, I was in a locker well before the hanging. This was a locker not near a generator, far side of the map, absolutely no reason at all for the killer to come through that locker. But immediately after the hanging, he teleports straight through the exact one I'm in and straight onto a hook I go. I then watch the killer head directly for the next surv who is also in hiding and pretty much impossible for the killer to know exactly where he was. I stick around until after end of the (very short) game and the killer has not a single aura assisted perk. That was when my suspicions were raised. After that I began to pay attention to more killers, and particular attention to how they played and after the game to see if their perks supported it. In every case where I had my suspicions the common factors were: not from my platform, and not a single aura based perk.

Good headphones won't help you find a survivor who you hadn't previously seen and who was hiding motionless somewhere.

Guessing survivor movement is possible, but not with 100% accuracy, which is what I've observed.

So, I'm really not jumping to conclusions out of saltiness, there's definitely something smelly going on. I've been playing DbD since release on PS4 and under the old system I was a regular Rank 1 player, so I've played enough (1000s of hours) to notice a distinct difference since coming back to DbD after a bit of a break.

And the 30% number was just a guesstimate (qualified that this 30% is from "not my platform" players) and maybe I just got unlucky with my killer allocation but I have played a lot of games this week and it was happening in those sorts of numbers.

It's also telling that I NEVER experienced this odd killer behaviour when they were on the same PS4 platform as me.

Just because you're a legit killer doesn't mean there aren't bad eggs out there. Try playing as a surv for a bit, analyse the killer gameplay style and see if their perks support it. Sometimes it does, fine; all good, and sometimes it definitely does not.

Uhmmm Dredge... and you were in a locker - maybe learn how his power works :)

Survs can always use op perk combos to plunder advantage... meanwhile, too many situation can consume killer player's enthusiasm.

Like, 8 hooks but 0 kills then 4escape and 4 ggez, 4 downs but 3 selfheal up with perks, infinite stun combo, and also gen rush. DBD always ignore these depressing gameplay.

It's just feel like, they never treat killer players like their customer, but as an AI enemy, or toy for Surv . Surv always can feel achievement by using Op perk combos and chat channel. While killers can't have fun with the game, always be worn down in enthusiasm all the time, even they spend thousands of hours in practicing... They nurfed Huntress, Sprit, Billy... And which is the next...

There should be some reason to attract players play killer...

From your post history it is obvious you don't play survivor much...if at all. I don't say this as a dig - I say this because if you want to be a better killer - learn survivor. I say the same thing to people who do not play killer and complain about killer being OP - play killer - it will help you become a better survivor. You limit yourself to only learning SOME of the skills if you focus (almost) entirely on playing one side.

If you think hatch is the strategy to win as a solo queue survivor - uhm you are terribly misguided.

  • I highly doubt any killer who is camping (truly camping) is making 30k in a match... they lose points for camping. More than likely the killer is within 24-32 meters and the survivors are giving them no reason to venture further away by staying near the hook. I see it a lot both as a survivor and a killer. Being too altruistic and rushing to save will doom teams plain and simple. I see it all the time - people running in for hooks within 10-15 seconds to save their teammates... kind of silly actually. As a 50/50 I find it funny how one side likes to blame the other side without looking at their actions to see what could have been done for a better outcome.

  • I have tracked EVERY match I have played since 2017 - over 5k hours as survivor and killer combined with a near 50/50 split.

The rate of survivors dying purposefully on hook/DCs has risen across ALL grades the past few days by slightly over 3%. I did the math a few weeks ago and there was only a .2% increase in Grade 1 players dying purposefully on 1st or 2nd hook/DCing after first down compared to Iri Grade 3 to Ash 4.

And again.. There is no RANK it is GRADE. Ranks were taken out of the game on September 7, 2021.

  • @Biscuits said:

It is only going to get worse many survivors are still ranking up but as soon as people reach rank 1, you are going to see a lot of games end in the first 5 minutes. This game is a lot of fun, and a good chase will keep me coming back, but thana legion needs to go. Save the best for last needs to be nerfed, regression perks need a limit.

Uhm your Grade level (There are no RANKS) has nothing to do with matchmaking.

  • I will say this Rift feels a bit underwhelming to me.

  • The problem is actually: They did too many changes too fast.

They should have done EITHER the gen progress rework OR the killer buffs.

They changed too much too quickly to tell if either one would have the desired effect. You can't use PTB and internal testing as much as they do because with PTB you don't have a lot of people with lower amounts of hours actually playing/testing the PTB. The results were extremely skewed towards more hardcore players at the highest MMR because that is the bulk of who tests the PTB... the hardcore players - meanwhile the other 60% of moderate players and 35% of casual players are affected by the changes as a result of the hardcore players testing. The game should not be focused on the abilities of the top 5% of players, but rather the middle range of casual/moderate players.

Had they simply done the killer changes or the gen changes - gathered data for 6-8 weeks and moved forward from there I think the game would have ended up more balanced. I have a strong feeling there will be an update to a lot of these changes in the near future- whether it be to the killer changes, gen changes, or a combination of both. I think this update was SLIGHTLY heavy handed and we will see a more moderate "fix" soon-ish.

I will say as both a survivor and killer - I have noticed a visible increase in survivors giving up (DC or letting themselves die) after first down/hook more than I had previously noted. I collect data on EVERY match I play whether killer or survivor and the DC rate pre-patch was 15.2% and in the past 3 days it has increased to 18.8%. While that may seem like a small increase - it truly is not small. This of course compounds the problems the other survivors face when trying to actually play/escape which exacerbates the feeling of feeling powerless and that the changes were too "killer sided."

  • Nah I generally know whether I am going to play killer or survivor - depends on my mood that day. I play both sides pretty equally so if I play survivor one day then the next I will play killer.

Chill we ask for it because killer queue is long atm and it was just fine with the bonus, survivors don't gain enough BP anyway they could just give a temporary bonus until it's fixed, it's not that big of a deal and would help killer queue

If there is a universal BP bonus that will not solve any killer queue issues - why would survivors play killer if they can get same bonus for playing killer. The incentive system was not working because it was ONLY giving survivors the bonus completely negating the point of the system. Once the system is back - it will incentivize people to play the role that is needed - a universal BP bonus right now will not do that. The only thing a bonus will do right now is keep people playing the same role they already planned to play - keeping the imbalance in roles played. And I gain plenty of BP as a survivor and killer - maybe if survivors stopped DCing so much or actually PLAYED they would actually gain BP. This game is so much easier to get stuff in than it was prior to the patch - so no I don't think a universal BP bonus is needed to compensate. My BASE BP average was 26,091 (not including offerings) in my survivor matches. I am not some pro-looper or survivor - I just know that you have to actually do various tasks to optimize your points in a match. What I have seen since the patch is a complete joke on the survivor side - people "looping" for 10-15 seconds.. ignoring players on hooks.. hiding like crazy.. running around doing nothing (definitely ignoring gens)... it's like the people I am playing with (most of whom have 2k+ hours) are brand new Claudettes. Part of me thinks some survivors are actually trying to throw the data off by playing like complete idiots. Anyways - the incentive system will be back soon - if you can't play without it - take a week or so off - especially if you feel that playing right now is not worth your time or not fun without it. (I say that in the absolute nicest way.. not like a "THEN DON'T PLAY!! way).

I don't think anyone implied that this was some long-established feature, so I'm not quite sure where you are getting that from.

I agree, if it wasn't working as intended it absolutely should be fixed. It is very unfortunate and disappointing that it didn't work properly in the first place since it is one of the features they promoted leading up to this patch and which promised another bit of grind reduction. Now we will have to possibly wait weeks for this fix and without the BBQ/WGLF BP bonus it feels like the blood point gain was reduced. The incentive would definitely sway me personally to play either killer or survivor depending on the current bonus.

So I think it is only fair for players to voice their disappointment and give feedback on this forum. I don't think anyone can say what someone deserves or doesn't deserve.

As stated multiple times by BHVR the matchmaking incentives had nothing to do with WGLF and BBQ. The bonuses from both were taken away due to the massive buff to the prestige/perk system...and made even less now with the 10k per emblem/40k per match maximum. I can already tell you from the completely lopsided population of survivors v. killers that survivors will not see this incentive very often when it is fixed and implemented. Gaining things in DBD is so much easier now - sorry you don't feel that this last patch literally put millions of BP into your characters because for a large portion of the player base... it did through keeping all their addons/items and gaining so many perks free without having to go through the bloodweb another 30-50 levels.

  • @BringShaggytoDBD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3081192#Comment_3081192

That's false. Anyone was able to claim the 100% BP bonus, if you don't play both sides that's your problem.

The issue is, this solution was put in place because of the removal of the BP bonus from BBQ and WGLF, as stated on the forums a few times by BHVR.

Without this bonus there is only cakes, flans and streamers for extra BP which is still nowhere near the amount you'd usually get by stacking with double points. People have every right to complain, just as much as you have to complain about people complaining.

In my opinion this is a very reasonable and just complaint from the player base. The grind is still awful, and earning double points to counter the grind made the game more enjoyable for me personally. Without it, it still feels like a chore.

Uhhh no you are 100% wrong. The BP bonus was ALWAYS about queues and evening out the ratio of survivor and killers and had nothing to do with BBQ and WGLF as stated by @MandyTalk multiple times in this thread. Please post those threads where people from BHVR stated otherwise.... You can't just claim otherwise without proof.

They specifically stated that the BP from WGLF and BBQ was being removed DUE TO THE GRIND BEING LESSENED with the new Prestige system all the way back at the end of June when they first announced the perk changes. In that same post and stream they specifically stated that matchmaking incentives were about evening out the player base/queue times. I have yet to see one person from BHVR post anything contradicting that and confirming otherwise.

Gaining BP is easier than ever now. Getting perks on characters is easier than it has ever been. No one is owed "compensation" for the matchmaking incentives being down. A system which was broken and only awarded BP matchmaking to survivors was unfair and completely negated the entire purpose of the system.

  • LOL why am I not surprised that people are complaining about something that only one side of the playerbase was receiving erroneously in multiple ways. You aren't OWED anything.. You don't DESERVE anything. It was not working as intended plain and simple. This feature was barely live for 1 day - so please stop acting like it was some long established thing which suddenly got taken away - for no reason. Entitled doesn't even cover a lot of the replies to this issue.

  • Would be nice if they actually updated the Perk Info - I have seen it confuse some people that they actually lose OTR from doing a Conspicuous Action since the perk does not actually say that.

in OTR Bug Comment by Jasix
  • You do you - I was raised to appreciate bonuses and not whine about them; which let's be real - you are not OWED. It's a game - it's not anywhere near analogous to something like a job - but hey you think what you want to think - it has no bearing on my opinion nor will it affect the bonuses that people receive.

I literally quit the match and am giving up tonight because there is nothing fun without friends or chases or killer games. To think dbd could make me feel this way is insane ive never been to the point id rather quit than play gen sim.

any ideas how to have fun? like seriously its so hard solo and i cant just find people who wanna 1v1 who are really good because those people are just busy or doing their own thing.

Yeah, everyone who reached p3 will get the same p3 reward, people who went the way of getting perks would also get compensated for that fairly.

Nothing I said contradicts that. The thing is, a "fair reward for time investment and dedication". The bonus levels isnt really a fair reward since there isnt anything you'd get from that. Lets say, 3 months from now, can you tell the difference between someone who was p0 with all perks and someone who p1'd everyone? Yes, the person who p1'd everyone had to spend less time and effort to unlock new content and would thus have more progression.

Is it a fair reward if someone who spend less time and dedication gets the better deal? No, obviously not. That is not entitlement, that is basic logic. You can get 120 million BP in about 500 hours of gameplay, that would be all perks, all characters p3(at the very least), both killers and survivors. Then you have someone who has all perks on 1 survivor, and all perks on all killers because prestiging wasnt worth it, thats 29 characters on p6, not really unlocking anything new for killers since you already have all the perks. No portrait either. All survivors would have 3 t3 perks. Thats 783 million BP, which would take about 3500 hours.

Now, again, is it a FAIR compensation for time investment and dedication, if someone with 500 hours will have more perks on more characters while having an average equal prestige as someone who has 3500 hours? No, its not. Its not the same sacrifice, its not the same compensation, and it surely isnt entitlement to expect people who has spend 7x more hours in the game to recieve the better deal. In fact, its quite odd that someone who has spend 1/7th of their time, get a better reward.

Seriously, how can you even say they get the same compensation? They dont. This is like working at a job for 7 years, and someone who has spend 1 year doing the same job gets a 50k end of year bonus while you get a 20k end of year bonus, even though they stated that everyone would get a fair compensation for their time investment. That is not entitlement, that is common sense.

I am not asking for cosmetics, nor am I asking for charms, I am simply asking for a way to close the progression gap between players who invested more time and dedication so that people with 3k+ hours do not get less of a reward than people with less than 1k hours. Entitlement is demanding 3x more reward, demanding an actual fair compensation is not.

    1. This is not a job - so that comparison is non-sensical to say the least. This is a game you are choosing to waste your time on.
    2. Fair is a subjective term - I think the rewards are fair.
    3. No one said the SAME compensation for "effort" - they said FAIR and frankly I think the rewards are fair. I am not some BHVR fanboi, but honestly I think how they are rolling this is out is fair to everyone.
    4. No - What you are saying is entitlement 100%. You think because you put x amount of time and x amount of fake currency into a character in a game you should get more than others who can't waste as much time on a game than you. I have almost 6k hours in game BUT have put BILLIONS into a few characters and only P1'd the majority of them - should I get more than you or anyone who has "only" played 5k hours?? I mean I have "sacrificed" more than you/others. See how entitled that sounds? Guess we are just built different - because I am grateful for the bonuses that I am getting on other characters and happy for others who are also getting those bonuses.

tl;dr: Literally the title of the thread.

Why it matters: Balance discussions. It is currently unclear (at least to me, I believe many others as well) what the powerlevel of Survivors is or should be. I don't think it's really possible to have effective balance discussions when it is not clear how strong Survivors are supposed to be.

I am not saying SWF is over- or underpowered. I am not saying the Killer role is over- or underpowered. I am not saying that every Survivor ever is in a 4-man SWF team. I am not saying that every SWF is using voice chat to get an advantage (relative to Survivors without voice chat).

I want to have a discussion about where the powerlevel of Survivors currently lies, and what the developers but also the community, think it should be.

The first Q&A livestream (before the game even released) confirms two things:

This is in reply to this post by MandyTalk (rules say not to ping if not involved in the discussion, I don't know if this counts as being involved. Just FYI, I am not trying to "hide" this from you or anything MandyTalk) - moving it to its own thread because it's technically off-topic as a reply in the thread the following quote is from: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3068332/#Comment_3068332

And no the game is not balanced about voice communication and it never can be - or should be.

Voice chat, while not supported directly in the game, is allowed and supported through official channels, such as the official Discord. The developers also have the expectation that Survivors use voice chat (see the timestamped videos above) - at least when playing with friends (this does not mean that the expectation is that every Survivor is always using voice chat). Though I would argue that since it's officially supported this is also something that random players can use to have voice chat in the game, i.e. join the Discord and ask if anyone wants to play together through SWF even if those players do not know each other beforehand.

Does that not mean that the default powerlevel of Survivors is that of Survivors using voice chat, and that the game should be balanced around that? The quote by MandyTalk seems to imply that this is not the case. Though I may be reading it wrong - if that is the case I would be grateful if someone could clarify that for me.

Making changes to solo Survivors to bring them closer to SWF level (= implying use of voice chat) is a (relatively) uncontroversial opinion and the developers have confirmed that their intention is to do so. And of course many Killers argue that SWF / voice chat gives an unfair advantage.

Does voice chat actually give you an advantage or is it rather the default powerlevel that Survivors are expected to have? I think it's important to clarify what the powerlevel of a (emphasis on the a) Survivor is in the game for balance discussions. Are we bringing solo Survivors up to the level they should be at? Are Killers playing against Survivors that are at the level they should be at (Solo or SWF with voice chat)?

Note: This is not a binary scale. On one hand: (solo) Survivor with no voice chat, on the other a full 4-man Survivor group with voice chat.

Where on that scale is (currently) the point where we can say "This is the powerlevel that Survivors should be at"?

Where on that scale should (in the future) be the point where we can say "This is the powerlevel that Survivors should be at"?

Have the reached this point yet? (Likely not, considering that bringing solo Survivors up to the level of groups with voice chat is something that is a goal for the future)

What do you think is (or should) be the default powerlevel of a Survivor?

    🦆🦂

If this game had voice-chat enabled - I would disable it always. Last thing I would want my stream to hear is some of the trash people would say. And yes I disable voice chat in other games as well because the maturity level of a lot of online gamers is that of a 6 year old.

    50:30 anniversary stream

"we're working on a fair way to reward players for their time investment and dedication, once the update takes effect"

This, this is what people refer to when they expect fair compensation. Because prestiging 3 times is just a sacrifice of items, addons and offerings. Getting all perks is a much, MUCH bigger time investment and dedication than just getting lvl 50 3 times. People back in the day either went for all perks and no prestige at all, or prestige 3 and get all perks afterwards. There isnt really anyone who has prestige 1 and all perks, or prestige 2 and all perks. Its pretty much only p0 all perks, p3 and few perks and p3 all perks.

Let alone that the prestige levels right now are not really a nice indication either, since you get at most p6 without any prestige, while someone at prestige 2 will get the same reward in prestige while only having invested 15% of the BP. So people who were 7x more dedicated and invested 7x more time will get the exact same reward. And that is just comparing p2 and p0 all perks. Is that a fair way to reward players for their time investment? No, its not. People who invested 7x less will get the exact same rewards. Having p1 on everyone, again, is only 120 million BP, and after the update, will give EVERYONE all teachable perks at t3. Where, if you have all perks only 10 characters, you'd have spend 270 million BP, excluding all other characters that you would have leveled for teachables(getting the remaining 49 characters lvl 40 is about 1.5 million BP, so thats another 74 BP on top of that).

Its not a fair reward for the time investment and dedication if someone with half the effort gains more value.

So yeah, everyone is expecting more than just the conversion. Otherwise, its an unfair way to reward players for their time investment and dedication, contradicting their statement.

    1. believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

Your "compensation" for all your "sacrifice" is the prestige bonus levels - tada - everyone gets the same "compensation" for their "sacrifice."

Then I honestly hope they reward people massively based on how much they prestiged. Because before the announcement, I have had 12 characters p3 all perks, and the reward on the PTB was a measely 1.2 million BP, while the characters that were p3 lvl 1 had the exact same reward as those with all perks. And to me it was implied that having all perks would get you an additional reward other than just the special p3 portrait.

So right now, I am honestly expecting to get a portion of the 27 million BP per character, which was needed to unlock all the perks(in reality I must have spend at least 30 million per character), back, because otherwise I would kinda see it as a massive insult to those who actually grinded a lot getting the same rewards as people who "only" spend 6-7 million bp. I pretty much quit the PTB once I noticed that the rewards were exactly the same.

So I hope they either changed the rewards so that people who did put in more effort would have that to reflect(because lets be honest, losing 2 prestiges worth of addons and offerings isnt that big of a deal compared to the 27 million bp investment), or at the very least give those people an amount of BP based on how many perks they unlocked to put into other characters. It would be a bit weird if someone who has everyone at p1, having spend about 120 million, would have more progression overall than someone who spend time earlier to get p3 all perks on roughly a quarter of the cast, having spend 400+ million BP just on those characters.

The BP they gave on the PTB was.. for the PTB - they NEVER said anything about giving BP once MidChapter went Live. They specifically said the extra BP was for the PTB to help people get chars up etc.

  • You would think with this Mid-Chapter of all patches they would announce at last 24 hours in advance so people knew to Prestige 1 their characters if they wanted to before the patch went live. I have seen countless people say they are going to wait until BHVR announces it before Prestiging...to which I tell them: Yeah good luck with that! These are the people who are going to be angry when they login and boom everything has changed with no consideration or notice from BHVR that they have lost their chance at a prestige bump.

It's poor communication and community maintenance withholding the planned date of big patches like this.... Not bashing BHVR - just find it odd that with a company with such a negative reputation of being bad at communication and caring about their community that they choose to continue the pattern which exacerbates that reputation.

If your character is P0-50 and you did not spend any more BP on additional lvl 50 webs. Then it is in your best interest to P1-1 that character.

Why? Because every prestige level gives +2 with the catch-up. Placing that character at P3-1 after the update. If you leave them at P0-50 with 59 perk tiers, you will be P1 or barely P2 after.

Why should you not P1? Do not P1-1 if you have all perks. If you have all perks then after the update you will be P3 or higher anyways. Plus you get to keep all your offerings and addons.

Just for my own peace of mind - is there an official statement that P1'ing a character will make it automatically P3 when new system comes out?? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

I just want one person to tell me why they dont want to get chased and get better.

Being tunneled ≠ Being chased - being tunneled means you are immediately focused on while already injured off the hook. Most tunneling killers gain distance by waiting out BT and then simply getting an easy down. Not sure why I am even replying to a banned account.

  • Oh no... a few E players are gonna leave??

Guess they weren't that good after all if they can't cope without their crutch perk.

  • The difference is at high MMR - players do not constantly self-care. Self-Care at high MMR is a last minute utility - and used mainly for EGC situations. Most high MMR players run Resilience and stay injured for the extra 9% - Self-Care is just there for those last minute or clutch saves. Low and Mid MMR is where you see the constant self-caring in the corner early-mid-and late game. The reason it was changed was to decrease it's usage in the early and mid-game as more teams at low to mid MMR were completing less gens and had less escapes the more Self-Care was brought due to the constant healing and those survivors not helping progress the match due to constantly hiding/healing.

First off, lets not make this an us vs them.

Right now, about every other game I've played, has become a face-camper or tunneler at gen 5 and I think that most survivors are experiencing this now as complaints have started really piling up on these forums and from other survivor players I've engaged with. (I don't want to see killer players explaining why they think killers are doing this because that is subjective and changes from player to player).

Disconnects are going up, suicides on hooks are going up. Survivors are enjoying this game less and less.

The developers seem to be trying to fix the issues killers are having, which is great. There needs to be some work on the issues that is killing the fun of the game for survivors.

Please don't try and speak for "most" survivors and stick to your own experience. Hyperbole is a great way to invalidate your stance from the very beginning.

Well Mandy just confirmed it won't be that late. So yes, they are wrong. BTW I would take anything a Fog Whisperer says with a grain of salt. I've seen a lot of misinformation come from a few of them in the past. They are not BHVR employees and usually don't know any more than we do when it comes to stuff like this.

Just sucks their "Ambassadors" tend to say stuff they either know is not true or just make stuff up. I just know some streamers who are frustrated because of the lack of a date/time and having to re-arrange their schedules to try and play/stream/promote the PTB. Seems silly to not give like a 24 hour notice of something that so many people would like to plan to play/stream.

So many entitlted people on so many of these threads.

You all have a rough idea of when it's coming out, just be patient and it will be out when it's ready to be out. Moaning about it isn't going to get it out quicker or to a particular schedule that may or may not suit you.

Do you all have a brain surgery to go and urgently conduct or something?

When it's released you can play it, if it's not released you wait. Gees.

No actually we have no idea what time it is coming out since BHVR can't be bothered to give a 24 hour notice for people to arrange their schedules/streams. Fog Whisperers are the ones telling people 10pm EDT - so either they are lying & purposefully giving misinformation - or just talking out their butts :)

  • So now I am hearing that it won't launch until 10pm EDT tomorrow instead of 11am EDT??? Some people are trying to work their game play and streams around this - giving notice at least 24 hours in advance would be welcome for everyone and not just Fog Whisperers. @MandyTalk

  • Creates account to comment on a video that has NO credibility. Did you hear where the guy in the video says these were HIS changes to the perks. No one knows the changes BHVR is making or specifically which perks are being changed. Anything anyone says at this point is complete speculation. Maybe wait for actual information before trying to get feedback on the changes coming.

  • Who cares if they teabag you?? Why are you letting random people on the internet affect you that much? They do things to frustrate you and you are just giving them what they want. As far as end game chat goes - you can avoid it by just closing it. Stop letting people frustrate you - it is your choice.

  • Why load any game? Hacking is not unique to DBD.

I have run into WAY more hackers in games like Fall Guys, Fortnite, and the new Evil Dead game - 8 hackers in 11 matches in Evil Dead.

4,500 hours in DBD and I THINK I have faced maybe a dozen hackers... two of those were the same person back to back like 7 months ago.

Hackers/Cheaters suck, but unfortunately with the world being what it is...idiots are everywhere online. I mean seriously I have ran into more cheaters in frickin Fall Guys than DBD... eyeroll. FALL GUYS! LOL! If you want to game without cheaters...unfortunately nowadays you will have to play solo or on a LAN with friends.

  • What problem???

You act like trying to kill or escape is try harding when it is literally the objective of the game.

What is it exactly you are trying to tell people.. that they should do with the game they bought? Slow down doing gens?? Only chase x amount of time?? How about you play whatever way gives you enjoyment and let others do the same? If you are not enjoying the matches you can either adapt and find a way to enjoy them or simply play something different. You telling people HOW they should play is just silly to say the least. Aside from you trying to tell people how they should play - I don't see the point of your post.

  • Enjoy the game - stop trying to abide by any "rule book" killer or survivor.

  • It depends on when it happens in the match. If it is the start/middle of the match then yeah I let the survivor do their glyph, but I will hit them immediately thereafter. If it is end game - nope sorry not gonna happen.

  • While I do not play GF a lot - I just can't with his music. Unfortunately Legion was.. WAS...one of my mains until the new music came out - it is LOUD. I tried playing Legion the past few days and the music is great, but WAY too loud...so unless they reduce his music volume - my Pink Bunny Legion will sit shelved and collecting dust.

You mean my FRIEND was a ttv. We did nothing wrong besides did gens and looped the killer. Stop victim blaming.

Victim blaming?? You are a victim? You were hurt? Stop using terminology which is not applicable and takes away from people who are ACTUALLY victims of abuse. You weren't harmed or abused... you had to wait 4 minutes to die in an online game!
