Devs saw that VHS was getting traction and decided to actually do something for the game
You do know this has been in the works for a very long time - before almost anyone had even heard of VHS - right? Then again you know what they say about assuming things.....
-
The only "meta" perk I use (and have since its release) is Borrowed Time. I would say around 90% of my matches are the same build just because it is what I find the most useful for me:
Lithe
Alert
Borrowed Time
Soul Guard/We're Gonna Live Forever/Inner Strength - Depends on my mood and goal when deciding which 4th perk to use.
98% of my survivor games I play solo. I tend to be a more altruistic/chase/totem survivor than a gen focused one.
When I play killer - I don't really care what people run - if it makes their game fun - cool.
-
Apparently a lot of killers on the forums thinks they are high MMR LOL.
-
Hyperbole and over-reaction - must be the DBD forums.
-
No - I think like most things on these forums - people are prematurely over-reacting to change.
Shocker that some people are resorting to vitriol and hyperbole.. so shocked. (Eyeroll)
-
I don't use it when I play survivor - I prefer Lithe as my exhaustion perk. I have tried all the exhaustion perks (Even Smash hit) and just find that I can leverage Lithe more to escape a chase.
As a killer - I have no issues with DH. I don't think it is OP. I love to see survivors using FailHard. I love to bait it out at an inopportune time for survivors :)
-
I am not sure exactly how SBMM works with SWFs or how good you are as a survivor, BUT....
If you are trying to introduce friends to the game - I think it makes more sense to use an alt account than your main one. Your main one will definitely have a higher SBMM than a fresh one. So it would be like 2 new/newer players. It's the same as how Red ranks used to introduce their friends to the game and they would face purple/red ranks and get stomped.
Just my thoughts.

Me and a friend reported a streamer on Twitch for hacking. We checked back in 2 months and they were still streaming. With hacks. Very obvious hacks.
Cool - and I reported a streamer for hacking in DBD and his account was banned two days later.
I also reported a streamer for calling someone the "N" word and another for telling an LGBT person to end their life and calling them the "F" word - they were banned as well.

How do you know they are banned? I still see the same cheaters that I've reported and some of them stream on twitch, still nothing.
I've seen the same hacker for about 7-8 months and nothing has happened.
FYI If a streamer is cheating - if you report that to Twitch they will lose their account. Hacking/Cheating is against the ToS of Twitch and the other streaming platforms. Not sure why if you see a streamer cheating you wouldn't report them to their respective platform as well as BHVR.
If you want the problem to stop - you have to do more than post about it on a forum - you have to actually report people.

Made by people who don't play the game, typical. It relies on way too much forcing and luck.
Repeating a lie does not make it true. You do know some of the Devs stream DBD...right? I don't think some of the challenges are fun at all, but let's not make stuff up to invalidate the development team.

Fun fact 1
during Legion's 4 seconds fatigue the survivor can again gain 16 meters of distance (slightly less as you aren't complety immobile during the fatigue) so it is very much not a good option vs holding w.
Fun fact 2
Fun facts are rarely fun
Fun fact - your math is wrong :) Legion still moves when fatigued at 2.07m/sec :) So survivors gain just under 8 meters UNLESS... fun fact you let them pallet stun you which immediately cancels frenzy with no fatigue. Just under 1,500 matches as Legion - so yeah I will take my experience over your erroneous math :)
Best way to use Frenzy to get a kill?? Beat them to the door/pallet/window - block - cancel Frenzy - attack! :)
People can make excuses or learn/adapt with each killer.
Let me clear: Holding W is a valid tactic just like camping and tunneling is a valid tactic. maybe stop focusing on how others play (killer and survivor alike) and focus on how you play. These idiotic threads about "metas"/tactics being bad/op are just that - idiocy. I don't give af what perks a killer or survivor uses, whether a killer tunnels or camps, whether a survivor holds W, What items survivors bring, what addons killers use, etc etc
Do I think Holding W is as "OP" as a lot of the killer mains on these forums like to portray - LOL No! Do I personally hold W?? If I need to get the killer away from a gen I got chased off - some - so someone else can go on it, but I will just hold W until I can find a good loop to run. I love when killers are so hyper focused on me or another survivor - because I know that we will win the match. As a new killer back in 2016 - I literally had a timer I would set so I did not stay in chase too long - because THAT is the problem with Holding W for killers - failing to recognize when to give up the chase.
-
Learn to use your powers as killer. Not saying that mean spiritedly.
I main Doctor, Pig, and Legion - only one of those has a movement advantage and I was rank 1 for 4+ years.
Oh and your Legion comment... Shows you do not play Legion.
I have no clue what killers you play or HOW you play, but if you find you are not having fun, are not doing well, etc with a specific killer - switch killers.

Cause you don't know what you are talking about as you only play surv :). I will leave you do the maths as you seem pretty smart.
Wraith - Cloaked speed = 6m/sec --> decloak can be abused at pallets
Spirit - Phase walk = 7.04m/sec --> 16 meters away, she phases, you walk, she doesn't know where you are
Oni - Demon Dash = 7.82m/sec --> does he have DD all the time ? and in the meantime you have found a pallet is he viable in loops ?
Legion - Frenzy = 5.2m/sec --> Frenzy doesn't last and just injure
Executioner - Ranged --> Slowed down when doing the spell, 8 meters only, we are far from the 16 meters, and aiming in straight line with it is impossible against a good survivor. Do you play him ? Ah no, okay. Come in private and try to hit me with the power in straight line, we will have plenty of time to discuss.
Deathslinger - Ranged - pretty easy to dodge, he is slower
Billy - Chainsaw= 9.2m/sec - chargin with chainsaw ? 90° angle and he has to stop and get another stun
Huntress - Ranged - easy to dodge at this distance - she is slower
Bubba - Chainsaw = 5.29m/sec - Bubba in straight line ? Ok baby survivor
Hag - teleports - ok for this one, if traps are set, she is slower though
Clown - Tonic reduces survivor run speed by 5% - ok, aim at 16 meters away
Freddy - Teleports AND Dream snare reduces survivor run speed by 15% - You hear and see when he is teleporting, snares are in loops, not in the middle of nowhere
Demogorgon - Shred = 18.4m/sec - BS, the jump is 11 meters and then he has a 1,5 stun :)
Trickster - Ranged - Ok, but he is weak in loops
Plague - Ranged Corrupt Purge - lol... i won't comment
Twins - Victor run speed = 6m/sec - ok for victor that doesn't see tracks, you knew it right ?
Cenobite - Chains negate sprinting - Cenobite is stopped while using the spell, actually it's a short range spell to be effective, use it at long range and it's a waste of time.
You should play killer and obviously improve as a survivor if you don't know that atm "Hold W" is the best way to survive as a survivor. And don't talk to me as a killer main, i'm a survivor main and i surely outplay you so you can keep your sarcasm and your lack of knowledge about how does playing killer works.
All the exemples you gave show clearly that you don't know how those killers' powers work. 😂
Psst I have played over 4k hours - with about 60% of that as killer. Please check my post history - I am a 50/50 killer who sides with killers and survivors on various issues. trying to paint me as a survivor main - shows your bias - not mine :)
-
Except with:
Blight - Rush speed = 9.2m/sec
Nurse - Blinks
Wraith - Cloaked speed = 6m/sec
Spirit - Phase walk = 7.04m/sec
Oni - Demon Dash = 7.82m/sec
Legion - Frenzy = 5.2m/sec
Executioner - Ranged
Deathslinger - Ranged
Billy - Chainsaw= 9.2m/sec
Huntress - Ranged
Bubba - Chainsaw = 5.29m/sec
Hag - teleports
Clown - Tonic reduces survivor run speed by 5%
Freddy - Teleports AND Dream snare reduces survivor run speed by 15%
Demogorgon - Shred = 18.4m/sec
Trickster - Ranged
Plague - Ranged Corrupt Purge
Twins - Victor run speed = 6m/sec
Cenobite - Chains negate sprinting
But yes please tell me how killers have no way to negate holding W :)

Every streamer I know who goes against someone hacking - reports them. I have only ran across 4 hackers in 5 years - and all have been reported. I am in a Discord of approx 200 streamers - Affiliates/Partners - most of whom play DBD. The consensus of the group is that failing to report is basically condoning such behavior. Any creator in the group who fails to report hacking in a game (any game) will be disallowed from the group. We believe in having integrity in gaming - and part of that is reporting cheaters. The stream was a little over 10.5 hours.
I don't share my Twitch name on here any more due to the juvenile behavior of quite a few forum members who would constantly come into the stream with racist and homophobic comments. I made an alt account after dealing with banning forum members every other stream. There are a lot of Twitch Affiliates/Partners with alt forum accounts unfortunately due to continual harassment from forumites.
The stream was a lot of fun - having to switch from one playstyle to another every match. I still do not like playing Twins or Blight though.

You mean "gg ez" seriously i don't think i have played a single game where survivors were not toxic in the end game chat when they were on PC. I seriously mean it, i can't remember the last time people were just nice.
It's always:
- gg ez
- Camper ,you suck
- Tunneling, you suck
- F you N-word
- i can't believe you are rank 1
- You are trash.
Whether i win or lose, they always say some toxic thing.
You know you can disable end game chat right?
I haven't seen end game chat in forever - don't see the purpose of it. If someone wants to be racist or homophobic they can come to my stream and I just let others see their idiocy - then they get banned.

You know internet problems are a thing right i don't dc on purpose
If your internet is messing up to the point you get a 24 hour ban - you need to stop using McDonald's WiFi.
-
What is the incentive:
Bloodpoints
Iri shards
Variety in gameplay
I did a 25 match killer stream this weekend where I played each killer one round - was a lot of fun.

Hopefully i deleted the game off my console and redownload it because it was suggested as a sorta quick fix and now this just dumb I have a 24hr ban that i was hoping to shorten but nope sorry F off
LOL Karma working the way it should - maybe stop purposefully DCing so much and that once in a hundred games glitch would have only been a 5 min ban :)
-
Not for me. I play between 4pm MST-12am MST and my wait times are between 3-5 mins.
-
Just over 2k hours as killer. Previously red rank for 4+ years before grades. Currently Iri grade. My wait times vary between 3-5 mins on average. I play PC West Coast with crossplay on between 4pm MST-12am MST. I wouldn't stream Killer if my wait times were 10+ mins. As it is now it gives me time to talk with chat some etc.
-
On average 3-5 mins.
-
It hasn't - still play/stream 30 hours a week.

You're not understanding what killers are complaining about. It's not about holding W being too strong, it's about bad game design. When the BEST/MOST EFFICIENT thing you can do is to hold W, to make distance, then the game is designed poorly.
It's a complaint about game DESIGN not game balance.
Again I will say it - you cannot condone camping and tunneling and not condone "Holding W." They are all flawed game designs, but they are all approved tactics. And again I will say it - play how you want just so long as it is not against the rules.

Well, there's a killer that I was main, it's The Twins. But I haven't played with this killer since May. I decided to play with them again this weekend, and the MMR is still at maximum, I played against three consecutive tournament teams.
I think it's reasonable if a killer isn't played for months, his MMR should decrease. Victor is a complex character and hit with his pounce is not easy, if you don't play with him for a long time, you don't play with the same efficiency as before. The same is true for other high-complexity killers.
So, can we see a change in SBMM that takes this into account?
I think it's reasonable if a killer isn't played for months, his MMR should decrease. Victor is a complex character and hit with his pounce is not easy, if you don't play with him a long
- Seeing as you have NO idea what your MMR score is - you have no idea if it stayed the same or decreased.
- Tournament teams huh? Which teams were they? Considering most tourney teams don't play regular matches as teams - I highly doubt this. When tourney teams want to play/practice they do it together against other tourney killers because that is how they improve - not going against random people.

They didn't. I tried it out yesterday. U can't run away with trap, it kills u once u enter gate room.
Yeah but you can escape through hatch - which I don't think should be allowed. Doesn't make sense you can't leave through the gate but you can the hatch.
-
I would increase her speed slightly when crouched and increase the base jigsaw boxes by 1.
I absolutely love her ambush dash - it is great at shutting down loops.
I would disallow any escapes with a RBT on your head; whether active or not - through the exit gates and hatch.
-
Stop playing when your internet is not working well?
You obviously have had quite a few disconnects - whether on purpose or due to internet issues. Most people stop trying to play after the 2nd or 3rd internet issue which would not have you ANYWHERE near a 24 hour ban.

That's your anecdotal bias though. You've not seen it a lot in your games, but maybe op has seen it a lot in their games. I know I used have at least 1 survivor per match wanting to run to furthest deadzone corner. I usually just let the run and drop the chase because there simply isn't enough time to deal with that while policing gens.
It's enough of an issue that people who don't post on the forum talk about how silly it on a regular basis. Sure it is the most efficient way of dealing with a chase on the survivor side, but it isn't engaging gameplay. Killers get constantly ran down about how they're only concerned with winning and not with making engaging gameplay by constantly going for the most efficient strategies. At least their still required to be engaging if even for a short period of time.
That is what annoys me in dbd. We have to depend on the opposing sides to make engaging gameplay and engaging gameplay is rarely efficient gameplay when it comes to dbd.
I mean aside from things which can be shown through actual statistics (which I do often) - everyone is just stating their opinion based on their empirical experience. My "job" as either killer or survivor is not to make the game "fun" for others - my "job" is whatever I determine it to be - whether that be to escape, do 2 gens, sacrifice 2 survivors, etc. Of course I am biased - just like you are biased. We all have our own ideas of what a fun game is and is not.
I think it is silly to dictate or try to dictate what others can and cannot do in this game. I have no issues with people who hold W, killers who camp or tunnel - because it's their match as well. Too many people like to say what others should do, what perks people should use, what items/addons people should or shouldn't use - and that's just stupid to me. To me you can't condone tunneling or camping if you also do not condone "holding W" - it's just hypocritical. Maybe people would have more fun in this game if they stopped trying to say what others shouldn't be doing.
-
Well - it wastes the killer's time - which in turn allows gens to get done. Why would a survivor do something that could potentially end a chase much quicker? If the goal of a survivor is to get gens done and escape - why not use whatever they can to achieve this goal? Granted I think I MAYBE see this once every 5-6 matches by MAYBE 1-2 survivors.
It doesn't bother me as killer honestly - I can recognize those who are going to do that and those who I can easily get. The problem I see with a lot of killers is not recognizing when to abandon chase and switch targets. Like most things on these forums though - this is an overused term and definitely not something I see very often in actual matches.
Here's the thing - I don't care how people play, what perks they bring, what killer they play, items, addons - we all paid to play - so let people play how they want.
-
Ever think maybe they just Prestiged their character and that's why they don't have 4 perks unlocked?

I honestly haven't really noticed much of a difference as killer or survivor.

Are you being serious?

Nope.

Failing to see any issues with this match result. Not sure what the point of the OP is meant with this pic.

Grades.
First you belittle the rewards, but then you ask for the ability to get this tiny reward be made easier. Uhh ok? If it's such an inconsequential reward why focus on it so much? Why not focus on...oh I dunno.. having fun in the game?
They have already taken away the possibility of degrading - and you want to make iri grades the ultimate participation trophy? No thanks.
-
By "coming out" you mean - no one knows when and it could easily be another year.
I've watched the Dev footage and - its ok. Reminds me of a mix of HSHS and Last Year - which isn't a good thing imo. I have nothing AGAINST the game - just doesn't look like something I would enjoy - I did not like HSHS or Last Year - and this game is giving me strong vibes of both.
-
No - and I wouldn't run We're Gonna Live Forever if one of it's effects were removed either... they are both two weak without both effects.
-
If I am playing survivor - I get as far away from them as possible.
If I am killer - I hook them.
I am not going to protect an afk survivor as a fellow survivor and I am not going to let them just stand there as killer. If you aren't ready - then don't hit that ready button.
-
Nothing has really changed for me when it comes to queue times - between 2-5 mins depending on time of day.

Queue times are based off of players online and time, yes. But it's also based off of, and you're gonna be shocked when you hear this, your skill rating.
Doesn't matter how many people are online. If they're not within your skill range, you're not going to pick up with them. In terms of when your queue times are shortened or expanded, idk. Idk where you're from so I can't speak for or against it. What i can say for myself who lives in the EST of the US, my queue times as a Killer take usually 5-7 minutes regardless of the time and day. I've had times where I had to wait 10 minutes before finally getting a match. And the Survivors I get matched with 9/10 matches aren't potatoes and seemingly run Comms.
Yes I am aware of that but that assumes that you are waiting for high mmr people instead of medium mmr people. It is the same as it was: Waiting for relative ranks - and we all know ranks were no indication of skill for the most part. I have a higher kill rate than "average" and my wait times in MST are not bad as killer. I am aware of how mmr and wait times affect one another, but assuming that because one is higher mmr they wait longer is silly as you have no idea how many people are on at any given time with high, low, or medium mmr.
I just think it is hilarious that a large majority of the forum base thinks they are high mmr.
-
@Desh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2502213#Comment_2502213
According to some people, you can tell you have a high MMR rating based on your que time.
Survivor with little/no wait time = High MMR
Survivor with high wait time = Low MMR
Killer with little/no wait time = Low MMR
Killer with high wait time = High MMR
ROFL.... Ok. I am a MUCH better killer than I am survivor and I do not have high queue times for either. People guessing how to tell if they are high mmr is silly at best. Queue times are based off number of people online and time. If I play SUPER late at night my killer queue time goes way up. My survivor queues are almost instantaneous most of the time except from 8-11pm MST.
Pretty sure these "some people" are talking out their butt and spreading blatant misinformation - shocked that would happen on these forums LOL!
