  • Oh here we go: keys are evil blah blah blah.

For reference - I have only ever taken a key when it is a challenge to escape by a hatch.

Maybe... just maybe most if not all of these hyperbolic matches you referenced - the survivor(s) had a challenge to escape using a key.

Maybe... they had nothing else left in their inventory to bring and are getting ready to prestige their character and want to get some use of the thousands of BP they had to use to get the key.

Maybe... it was a 2-3-4 person SWF and 1 or more of them needed to escape from the hatch.

I wouldn't talk about people not wanting to PLAY the game when you admit to dodging lobbies because you didn't want to PLAY against them.

  • Hyperbolic anecdotal post. Toxic players exist at every level. And also: rank is irrelevant. How so? I was a rank 1 killer for 2.5 years - I am now rank 16 because I rarely play killer any more.

Look at your example: You have 60 hours in the game and are a rank 10 killer. What does that mean? I have WAY more than 60 hours in this game and probably 15 times as much as your total in just playing killer, but I am rank 16. I have never been toxic as a killer - not once. I probably spent 600 hours as a red rank killer and never called anyone a name in end game chat, never tunneled, never camped, etc etc.

Making broad generalizations based on an arbitrary thing like rank is just silly. Toxic people don't become toxic because of their rank.

  • I have never dodged a lobby as a killer. Why would I? If I am going against a 4 man SWF and they beat me - oh well. If I am going against a 4 man SWF and I win - cool. I don't play to win - I play to have fun.

I agree rank means nothing atm but that's my point, if you're good you wont go against these bad rank 1s for example you'll only go against the better killers which will more likely be nurse spirit. I just dont wanna not see certain killers, buff them by all means but I already hardly see 50% of killers, haven't seen a demo in what feels like forever. I personally play them all but alot dont so I dont wanna miss out on seeing them, would make it boring to only verse the same few killers. The range of killers make it fun.

Maybe not but certain perks can help alot none the less, while some perks require you to use them well some dont. And high skilled player (people that can actually loop) become alot stronger if they're use perks like DH. I dont mind the perk and dont want it changed, I'm just saying it can help alot and its be boring to see meta every game. And like most games meta at high ranks becomes so very common even if a few dont use them the majority do

I never said which were bad/good players. You are the one who seems hung up on two killers. It seems your issue is with those killers and not the matchmaking system. I can list 6 other killers I see regularly that have proven to me they are way worse than the spirit or nurse. Generally speaking - I survive more often against a nurse/spirit than I do a Bubba/Pig.

  • I played 12 hours yesterday (special stream) and faced the following rank 1-3 killers:

    Doctor x2

    Nurse x2

Hag (was either 2 or 3 times I forget)

    Clown

    Spirit

    Wraith x2

    Oni x2

    Cannibal x3

    Freddy x2

    Executioner

    Ghostface x3

    Twins

I played from Noon EST to Midnight - only thing I noticed was - rank is meaningless because frankly I beat the rank 1's more often than the rank 2 or 3's. Skill is not indicated by rank. I played against a rank 7 Cannibal the other day who ended the match in less than 3 minutes and got a 4k. MMR is about skill not rank - if anything you will see more killers who may not be your rank, but will actually give you a challenge.

  • From what I got from your post: You think you are an elite player, but hate playing against other elite players and like to play against weaker killers/survivors because that's what is fun to you. Also - hate to break it to you, but not all top-tier players run meta perks/builds.

  • Played approximately 10 matches yesterday - two had ebony moris.

  • I refuse to purposefully DC in a game - had this happen once as a killer. After like 10 mins I just went and stood in a corner - made a sandwich- ate the sandwich - came back and they had finally come out and did gens. They got horrible scores and I had a nice sandwich so it wasn't too bad :) When it comes to crappy players (killers or survivors) I just do what I can to make sure they get as few points as possible.

  • Have you seen these forums? A large majority of the posts are anecdotal hyperbolic complaints.

  • I am a red rank p2 Doc main and can count on one hand how many times I have had DS used against me - then again I do not tunnel at all. If I accidentally down a survivor at the hook who was just taken off I just go after the other person. Half the time when I do this by the time I have downed/hooked the other person the accidentally hit survivor is either up and gone or I go pick them up and hook them again.

As a survivor (also red rank) I don't even have DS because I have never needed/wanted to use it. I have Laurie, but have never put any BP in her or played her because frankly she is the blandest looking survivor in the game.

These forums make me laugh - full of anecdotal stories meant to be taken as fact, constant whining, and the stupidly repetitive circular topics which if they don't go on for pages - don't worry another thread just like it will pop up in less than a day.

I have no issue with DS - maybe you should alter your playstyle so it doesn't affect you so much - is my only thought on the subject. Or you can just continue with the same behavior in-game and here and see how that works out for you.

(I say "YOU" as a general term and not referencing anyone in particular)

Don't complain if your queues are long, stop harassing killers is your life that bad that you need to harass people on the internet? I bet you would never say anything bad in person.

Treat killers like people instead of your play toy, they want to enjoy the game as well, just today I've had 4 death threats and that is on 5 matches that I've played.

Everyone has bad games but you making it worse for the killers will create a chain reaction.

Killer has a bad game turns into survivors harassing then killer turns around and harasses the next ones then survivors harass then killers.

I'll tell you what BHVR will tell you: Turn off your chat - the option is there. And please stop acting like survivors are the only ones who take end game chat WAY too far - killers do it too.

I have seen so many things said both in my stream and others - and have seen BHVR do absolutely nothing about these people.

I just assume the person has a tiny endowment, lack any social skills, and go on with my life; because let's be real - it's probably true.

  • So you decided to lower yourself to someone else's standards and inflict behavior on others; for no reason but to prove a point to someone (the original killer) who is not affected by the behavior you are displaying - yeah that will show him!

So now you are the toxic person ruining other people's game experience. Who knows maybe the next "Survivors are toxic" thread will be some newer killer who got to experience your childish temper tantrum and decided to post how he will now play toxic to counter - people like you.

Yeah you really thought this one out and look totally mature in your response to a behavior on an online video game. Slow clap.

    Eyeroll.

  • Oh look - this thread... AGAIN.

  • Survivor: Detective's Hunch

    Killer: Mindbreaker and Iron Maiden

BTW they all had DS unbreakable soul guard dead hard

    Pic?

  • I mean it's not like matchmaking is any good now - yesterday I was on my rank 5 killer and was matched with a 15, 18, 18, and 20 survivor - seems fair right? LOL.

Today I was on a 4 man SWF of 2 purple & 2 red rank survivors - we were matched with a 17 killer.... the killer gave up after a few mins when we were down to one gen and he still had only hit one survivor...once.

So no I am not nervous; because it truly can't get much worse than it is right now.

    Changes to killers:

    • The change to the Clown is fine, although new players can increase the speed of survivors by misusing it (even simply without being a new player, not knowing how to use that "Antidote" well).
    • The change to the Wraith seems kind of sad to me, I thought we would have true invisibility all the time.
    • Changing the Trapper works for the first few attempts (for Trappers who were unlucky), but with more attempts it is worse for Trappers who were lucky and forced survivors to make many attempts.
    • Deep Wound is still stupid, even if the time is shortened, there are still too many ways to stop the counter.
    • A "buff" to Iron Maiden that I doubt makes it a good perk.
    • Destroyed the combo of Undying and Ruin. Maybe now that it saves tokens it works with other perks, but it only keeps the totem once when you break it (like when they now break Undying first).

    Changes to survivors:

    • Buffed 5 perks. Only buffs, not changes like Undying. Pure buffs.
    • No nerfs to DS / Unbreakable (almost the equivalent of Undying / Ruin).

TL;DR: Killers have one less perk combo, a buff to a useless perk, and killer changes that don't seem like buffs to me.

Survivors have 5 new perk buffs to make new combos with and are freed from the "Undying / Ruin" combo.

And we still haven't changes to the keys 😂

LOL - The change to IRON MAIDEN absolutely makes it a better/good perk - especially on Doctor, Plague, and Clown.

  • Cool - don't buy anything. Guess you can always wait for any new perks to appear in the shrine.

  • Welcome to the internet?

  • I just finished playing Survivor for almost 6 hours and my average wait time was 2-4 mins each round so - - anecdotal evidence is kinda silly when you have 35k+ (Steam) people playing a game at a time.

  • If that's what it takes to make you feel good... go ahead. Me - I realize it's a game and not really all that important in the grand scheme of things.

  • I wish I would have screenshotted it earlier

    Survivors: 6, 8, 12, 16

    Killer Rank: 1

He wiped the floor with us LOL. He was cool in end game chat he was like "Oh God - I feel so bad now!!!" - We then all chatted a few mins about the horrible matchmaking in the game etc.

  • Most of us streamers don't even put ttv in our names. I regularly SWF with 3 other streamers - one of them has ttv in their name.

And no not all streamers are good - I am known for being a completely average gamer.. it's one of the reasons people follow me; because I am just an average player, but sometimes people just wanna see the regular guy get a great escape or have that 4% kick in.

(No Jasix is not my ttv.)
