The problem with swf is theres voice comms which were never intended. Any noob can be on comms with everyone and give info. See how this works?
Never intended? Uhmm BHVR would disagree with you on their OFFICIAL Discord where they have it set up for teams to use Discord :) While comms are not in the game - they are supported and encouraged by BHVR themselves.

Tell that to the swf groups that dc the moment i hit someone with iri hatchet. 10/10 games so far have had this happen.
LOL - Oh the hyperbole.

they are not going to nerf their bread and butter.
By bread and butter - you mean players bringing their friends to the game. Novel idea - people enjoy playing games with their friends. Imagine a game that wants more players to come play with people they know thus increasing their revenue. While I rarely play in SWF when I play survivor - I would play less if that were not an option. Imagine trying to villainize a game company for providing the ability to play with your friends - damn you Overwatch, Valheim, Rocket League etc etc etc.
What I find hilarious is the vitriol and hyperbole associated with SWFs by select forum posters. I have seen MANY SWFs decimated by killers, but if you read these salty posts you would think SWFs are nigh beatable. As a killer main I find these posts hilarious as I have no problems with SWFs and actually find them easier to exploit than 4 random players of comparable "skill."
-
As a killer I don't have problems with SWFs - I don't think anything needs "fixed." I have had my butt handed to me by SWFs and non-SWFs alike. I have also 4k'd plenty of SWFs just as easily as I have non-SWFs. I actually find SWFs easier to read than solo survivors - and they are easier to exploit when it comes to altruism. Think of it this way:
4 randoms are more apt to let someone get into phase 2 or even die on a hook - than a group of friends who are trying to make sure they all do well.
SWFs tend to take more protection hits - which allows me to create even more pressure since more people are injured needlessly.
Not that I run NOED - but I can tell you from my solo survivor gameplay - if NOED is used - I am out! I am not running around looking for that one totem to go save some random person - sorry not happening, but if it is a friend I am playing with - I will try my best to save them.
I think some killers look at SWFs and think WAY too highly of them - I find them much easier to exploit than a group of randoms who are looking out for themselves. I think all too often some killers look for something to blame for their not getting the number of kills their ego needs - and SWFs are an easy culprit to pin that on - whether it is even a SWF or not.
-
As a survivor I tend to stay around - it gives me insight into their gameplay as well as the killers - I use it as a way to learn more. I also like to try to figure out during spectating what the killer is using by what happens in the match.
-
Map offerings don't bother me in the slightest. I don't worry about survivor items or offerings. I just go in and do my thing :)
-
I bought it and played a few hours with a couple friends. After a few hours we were all bored. The mechanics are very clunky. The hitboxes make the ones in DBD seem amazing. It was all just too simple/basic. Who knows - maybe they will improve it quite a bit before they do an actual release.
I'll check it out again if/when it updates with more maps etc, but I do not see this becoming something I would play even on a semi-regular basis.

maybe not unbeatable but swf are cheaters. telling everything i do is tecnically cheating. kindred can do the same, but the others doesn't know, only you. so yeah, they are a pain, especially when they all have the meta #########.
Cheating? You do realize there is an OFFICIAL DBD Discord that promotes voice comms use right? Not sure how if BHVR supports such behavior how you consider it cheating. Just because it is not in the game - BHVR does support and encourage comm use via their own official Discord.
-
Never dodged a lobby - don't see a need to dodge.
Then again - I like a challenge and don't need to try for an easy/easier win.

The only map I ever thought was too dark was the lower level in Gideon before the rework.

Think about it and you know it's true. Everytime you see these 3 things together you know this is going to be an extremely salty, toxic player. Whether they escape or die they're salty and will want to have a rant regardless over the smallest thing. I've played dirty, they rant, I've played nice, they rant, I've meme'd about, they rant, all 4 escape, they rant, all 4 lose, they rant. Just now I was doing a gimmick build and this guy didn't feel like he got as much attention as the others in chases so off he went on the rant 🤣
Even the "small pp" build players don't tend to be as obnoxious and salty as the players with this combo of perks. What is it? that causes the insecurity and small man syndrome? is it the fact that do a degree these players are carried to rank 1 by their perks?
No clue - I have chat disabled. I don't let people live rent-free in my mind; especially morons in DBD.

Don't know if it's only me but think they should make the totem spawns a bit less obvious litrally 5 seconds into a match and had one perk left its a joke

- Hyperbole is a horrible thing to use when trying to make any argument you want taken seriously.

But yeah, it's one of the obligatory perk on red ranks. DS, UB, DH and BT/Iron Will. Every single game everyone has DH, ocasionally someone has SB, but it's rare. This third health state it's what made me stop playing nurse, too much trouble to make a perfect read just to be outperked and restart the chase
Funny I am a red rank survivor since 2018 and have never ran DH, UB, or DS. When you use hyperbole as your "fact" it completely negates your statement. While those "meta" perks are common in red ranks - they are not used every single game. Maybe watch a variety of streamers and you will see your supposition is not true or based on fact. I track my perks and the perks of every single survivor when I play survivor/killer and have gone several matches in red ranks as survivor and killer and seen many matches without any "meta" perks being used. Maybe you should use words like "majority" or "often" which are more valid then speaking in absolutes and hyperbole.

Whats more of a crazy concept is finding some people who enjoy the game to give feedback to maybe change my mind. Weird right?
Except you never truly asked for feedback. You never asked anyone to attempt to change your mind. Your questions were fallacious in that they were basically question-begging presuppositions. Your "question" assumes; erroneously, that every player shares your experiences and cannot possibly find entertainment in the game. When you post vitriol and hyperbole - don't expect others to take you seriously.
-
Do you honestly believe they reported you? Do you honestly believe that BHVR will do anything about such a report?
It's just typical salty end game chat - which is why I have it disabled. Aside from the occasional "GG" end game chat is useless and one of the most toxic aspects of this game. You are letting these people live rent-free in your head.
-
Legion: Just seems soooo boring.
-
Your inability to convey your message without the use of 20+ censored words is a total turn off - didn't bother reading after the 4th or 5th one. Resorting to that type of posting is not productive or needed to convey your frustration/anger/whatever is is you are trying to complain about.
-
I honestly saw no real difference in my matches as a killer or survivor. I still managed to get 2-4k as killer and still had the same escape rate as a survivor. I played solo as survivor, 2 man swf, and 4 man swf - no distinguishable difference in matches.
I hope if they do another test that they do it over a 2-3 day weekend and reset everyone to rank 20 for the test that way all this anecdotal "evidence" of ranks (which are absolutely not indicative of skill) cannot be used as hyperbolic evidence.
-
Nope - still have the same ping between 35-60.

This seems like such a passive-aggressive reply for some reason? I was just responding to your already-sarcastic comment of "let's insinuate that all toxic end game chat is caused by survivors" and sharing my own experience of toxicity. I'm fully aware you can turn chat off.
The fact that there's already 4x the amount of survivors there are killers should indicate straight away that there's very likely more toxicity going to be coming from survivors.
Passive-aggressive? LOL ok.
The initial post insinuated that toxicity is a survivor issue. I stated it's an all-around issue. I also stated to simply turn off end-game chat if they didn't wanna see it. They then went on to use their hours played as justification for anecdotal reasoning. I again restated to turn off chat since they obviously haven't if they are experiencing so much toxic EGC as to drive them to come post about it. Of course there are 4x as many people playing survivor - that does not mean that there is 4x as much toxicity coming from survivors - that is a flawed assumption.
I can say in my 4 years of playing I have reported three people for end game chat that goes well beyond typical toxic chat - 2 of them survivors and 1 a killer. As a streamer I have banned more killers who come into my channel than survivors though. This again is purely anecdotal evidence though and amounts to nothing I would ever make a supposition about or try to pass of as anything other than what it is. Maybe instead they should have made a statement that was more broad based and didn't try to paint survivors as the causation of what they perceive to be an increase in toxic end game chat.

I'm not sure i'm against the challenge, but for every match and trying to play that way with every killer is not something I would enjoy.
I play to be challenged - easy escapes and easy kills are boring and are what KYF is meant for imo.
-
Well with that 1700 hours you should know by now that you can disable chat. So maybe take a proactive measure and disable it? That's like complaining that people in a bar swear and yet continually going into said bar. Not sure why you think saying you have x amount of hours is something aside from anecdotal evidence - I recently hit 1500 hours and even when I have chat open do not experience much toxic chat - but I can say with certainty I have seen a lot of that chat aimed at survivors from salty killers. Instead of continuing to allow yourself to be treated to toxic chat - do something about it - and by that I don't mean infer that survivors are the root of toxicity in chat when both parties share in the guilt of such behavior.
-
Yes let's insinuate that all toxic end game chat is caused by survivors... that seems productive.
Don't wanna see stupidity in end game chat - turn it off - it serves no purpose anyways.
-
So survivors are OP unless it is you playing - gotcha.
-
Lag issues? Only time I have had lag issues is when I had issues with my actual internet. Are you playing on wifi?? If you are then maybe it's an issue with your router?
-
Well as a red rank killer who played roughly 5 hours when SBM was active - I didn't mind the challenge. My worst game was a 1k and my best were 4ks - with mostly 2-3ks in there. I made really good BP during this time - so yeah I had no issues with it.
-
Your friend is lying to you or not telling you all the information.
If your friend is TRULY disconnecting that much then they have an issue with their ISP or their computer.
If there is no internet/PC issues then they are blatantly purposefully DCing.
Either way - If they are disconnecting that much I am glad they receive day long bans because I don't wanna be stuck with someone like that.
-
None. I also wouldn't remove any killer perks as well.
-
Must be a Saturday - and No.
-
I think the change is needed and appropriate. Oh and - Look ANOTHER DS thread because posting in one of the existing 200+ threads that basically go over all the same points/counter points would have been difficult.
-
Killers run faster and/or have special powers like teleporting. blinking, etc
Killers can completely stop gens with perks. They also have gen control through perks and their actions to force which gens get done.
Killers vaulting increase the speed the entity blocks windows; even without vault perks.
If a killer misses an attack - advantage survivor.
Killers can just as easily spawn close to survivors; it's called RNG.
Learning pathing can easily shut down loops as can abilities and perks.
Don't want to have DS used against you - don't tunnel.
Pay attention to map offerings and the map - you have just as much chance as finding the hatch as a survivor.
I say all this as a killer main. And this idea that you have to get a 4k is silly to say the least. Even at red/purple ranks killers can safety or pip with 2-3k as long as they are chasing, breaking stuff, and using their powers.
-
I am a Doctor main - I like his control and ability to track survivors easily.
I also play Wraith, Plague, and Hag.
-
Never used DS, UB, or DH as a survivor. I have them - I just don't use them.
I have two perks I almost always run and those are Lithe and BT. The other two perks depend on whether I have a challenge to do and whether I am playing solo or with a friend.
As a killer I don't mind any of those three being used as they are easy to counter by not tunneling (DS) and not trying to slug (UB). DH is easy to bait and once it's used way easier to down the survivor.
-
None of them. They are all the same - there is nothing to differentiate a Feng from a Kate. Unlike killers; survivors have no special innate ability to make them any different. For every person who says X-Survivor is the worst to go against you will have another person say it is Y-Survivor or Z-Survivor based completely off their experience and not any true difference in base survivor skills.
I actually wish DBD took a cue from F13 and gave specific trait bonuses to each survivor - that would give more of a reason for people to play certain survivors. For example Feng's who ran Lithe got a 1 second extension on the perk or a Claudette who ran Self Care could do it 2 seconds faster than Dwight running the same tier. If each character's teachable perk were slightly better on them I think that would incentivize people to play different characters and builds. As it stands - Survivors are only different by whatever costume options which is kind of boring.
-
Well now I can say I watched Tru3 play. Not sure why he has so many fanbois, but it is what it is. Meh.
-
I found my matches as both killer and survivor to be more enjoyable - there were no super quick matches, they were harder (in a good way), and overall seemed way more balanced. Matches usually ended either with 1 gen left or in the EGC with 1-3 people escaping on average. As a survivor I only felt like one killer bullied - and that was just them tunneling someone else after their first hook. As a killer the matches were much closer in general - I only had one match where it seemed like 2 survivors were either purposefully playing bad or were playing bad and were easy to kill.
My wait times as survivor were slightly longer than before, but nothing to cry about. My killer times were also longer, but still what I consider a good wait time (2-4 mins). I am currently purple rank on both survivor and killer.

are they gonna pay me for testing their ######### ? no ? oh ok
edit : again, all i have to say is the copium is string with this thread, and this forum in general, i knew it was bad, but jesus christ, ppl here are down low...
I'm so sorry you are being forced to play this game that you obviously do not enjoy playing. I mean you must be forced because you have not once said or even remotely implied that you enjoy playing it - which seems silly to willingly engage in an activity that you dislike so much.
You know what I wish they would do to improve DBD player experiences - create an ignore feature on these forums so I never have to see whiny posts by people who are forced to play this game...like you. Eyeroll.
-
I found my matches as killer/survivor more balanced for the most part. My matches were harder today on both; which felt more challenging in a good way. I didn't escape as quick and I did not kill as quick. When I did die it was after 3-5 gens were completed - there was no shut-out of only 0-1 gens being completed. As a killer the matches were much closer with my 2k-4k happening with 0-1 gens left.
This will probably frustrate killers who like to get the easy 4ks...as well as survivors who are used to getting out quickly with minimal people hooked/killed.

There streamers mostly aka there entire jobs mastering games to play and with dbd there tryhards
Actually very few streamers claim to be good or even great. The majority of DBD streamers are considered small streamers who do it for fun. Maybe instead of making gross mischaracterizations through hyperbole and vitriol you should try posting with actual facts.
On a side note: Please learn the difference between there, their, and they're.
-
I mean it happens - take the loss and move on. We have all had potato teammates - sometimes in consecutive matches, but you can decide to get triggered or just blow it off since it is just a game.
-
No - I am a streamer - I review my VODs for potential YT uploads etc - so I not only play the matches, but review them as well. I also track my kill and survival rates for my streams so I can accurately state my 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4k matches for the past 3 years as well as door and hatch escapes and deaths. I find that stating facts is a lot more useful than the hyperbolic ramblings of most posters.
-
16 matches today - 5 were Wreckers. The only other repeat maps I had were 2 Swamps, Ormonds, and Midwich. I did go to Coldwind once. One of the Ormonds and Midwich were offerings.

I have faced one since returning after leaving before pyramid head chapter.
The funny part is when I started streaming/playing today after reading the forums: The first killer I was faced was a Billy - saw 2 of them today in 4 hours of playing.
-
I mainly watch small streamers (less than 2k followers) - I find most larger streamers a bit annoying and egotistic.
The only larger streamer I watch with any consistency for DBD content is Ohmwrecker. I find him to be genuine, funny, and he never tries to act like he is better than he is - and frankly - he just has fun playing.
-
Using an outside program - you mean like the OFFICIAL DBD Discord? The one that DBD has set up for players to use to play together?
So if the company that has created the game...utilizes a tool for their players to use...to play their game... how exactly is that cheating if it is supported by the game company? If DBD did not condone such actions - wouldn't they not...they themselves...offer voice channels for their players? I mean the Official DBD Discord server has multiple SWF voice channels for players. So while a few salty killer mains think that it is cheating - the official stance is that using comms is not cheating - I'll go by what DBD/BHVR considers cheating and not some bruised ego player(s).
As far as stream sniping - No I don't think BHVR should get involved - the streamers can handle banning people on their own since it is their channel. FYI I am a killer main and couldn't care less if I am against a SWF or a SWF on comms - then again I don't have ego issues and like a challenge (which is why I play the game).

What "MAKES" people DC? DC'ing due to killers/maps is a choice - no one is being forced to disconnect on purpose due to their bias towards certain killers or maps.
