  • If there are 3 gens left and 3 survivors - the hatch isn't even spawned. Just saying....

  • Yeah - not a fan - just because someone DCs does not mean the match is doomed. Will it be harder - depends on how well that survivor was doing before they decided to disconnect. I would rather play it out and see what happens than automatically forfeit the game.

  • I just struggle until I die or get rescued. I figure if they want to waste their time standing there or proxy camping - me struggling gives my team time to do a gen or two. Usually results in 2-3 people escaping depending on how far along the match was going.

I also like to wait it out so I can laugh at the BP the killer gets compared to those who survive/exit. Camping is a choice/tactic - just not a very fruitful one when it comes to score.

  • I buy every premium rift. I have finished every rift so it's basically extra free stuff - for free.

Even if you didn't get auric cells back from the premium rift I would still do it. I have no issue with throwing a little money to a game that I enjoy playing 4-6 days a week.

Thats very offending towards a guy with Aspergers

I bet you would like to hear that if you had bad matches with killer

I have had plenty of matches of bad killers and yet never once purposefully DC'd.

I would say the exact same thing to someone with or without Asperger's as my comment has no relevance towards any disability. I don't edit my comments because someone is having a bad day or has a disability because my comments are not spiteful - they may be blunt and honest, but without malice. If you have trouble with criticism of your actions or people rebuking your posts - that is something you need to work on. Everyone on these forums has a right to post their opinion. I stated a fact - I am glad you are getting banned for purposefully disconnecting as that lessens the chance I end up having you in one of my lobbies. I dislike others ruining my games because they don't want to face certain killers, etc.- regardless of their gender, sexuality, disability, etc - Truth.

Don't try to paint a bias where none exists.

  • No clue I have never purposefully DC'd.

Why would you DC against a Trapper? LOL

I usually see people DC with Doctor, Plague, and Michaels.

Its depend i have the same time zone and when i play in those hour i play in a swf and my queue time are close to 15 minute but if im solo my queue time are maybe 5 or 10 minute but i play with the crossplay off if i turn it on my queue time are fast by fast i mean max 3 minute

Ahh yes that could be one reason - I have cross play enabled.

Nope, you don't have a choice but to listen. Gonna be here until you figure out what the word "cheating" means.

Actually I do have a choice and since there is no ignore feature on these forums I will just stop reading your inane posts.

You're a waste of my time.

  • I play from 6pm EST to 11pm EST. My wait times at purple and red rank survivor is usually like 2-3 minutes. Where are people that are getting these wait times? My killer wait time are usually 1-2 mins at the same time. The ONLY time I experience longer wait time (3-5 mins) is usually on Saturdays after like 9-10pm EST. It doesn't really fluctuate much if I am solo or playing with a friend or two. Maybe I am just lucky?

Developer fiat does not determine what cheating is. What is available in the unmodified game does.

If you show me a SWF group that doesn't use some kind of external communication tool, I'll show you a mythical creature. External voice chat is cheating, regardless of what the developers say, because there is no means of communicating with your allies in the game.

You have posted nearly the same message in like 6 threads. You have been shot down every time by simple logic. Get over it. Adapt - or move on already.

  • @SnowMiser said:

Devs won't even stop people from using voice chat despite that being obviously cheating, and all it would take is removing SWF. What makes you think these idiots are even capable of stopping other kinds of cheats?

OMG This troll is everywhere with basically the same comments. Welcome to the forums - you're schtick is lame.

One day we will get an ignore feature so we don't have to see the troll's inane comments.

  • @RenTheCat said:

What a shame, almost like that thing all survivors do, what is it? Teabagging or just standing at the gates waiting for the killer? To the point even pro players and streamers do it? Or sometimes they even find the hatch and wait for the killer to come or start making noise instead of just leaving and saving the killer time?

What a shame, those poor slugged survivors will never get their 2 minutes back.

Never teabagged except to say "Hello" or "Thank you." Also never waited at the hatch - I GTFO if I have a chance.

Maybe stop making absolute generalizations as your "proof" of something. ALL survivors don't do the behavior you stated. Claiming absolutes is a great way to automatically invalidate your stance.

I mean its not just the quality of killer mains. I'd say its hardly that. Yea sure, there are great killers out there in red ranks. But I think a match can be swayed more by the quality of teammates you get (particularly talking about solo que since SWF is a joke to me). A lot of red rank survivors do not deserve their ranks, and when you see them dive bombing, running killer around a hooked teammate, refusing to do gens, it only makes you think they're green/purple at best and grey at worst.

Meh ranks are stupidly inconsistent between people getting carried/boosted and people purposefully de-pipping. I just play the game and honestly don't care if I am going against/with red/purple ranks. I'll be glad when SBM hits and everyone resets to 20 every month - people use rank as a true measuring tool and we all know it's about as accurate as an expired Equate pregnancy test.

  • The trolls are out in force today. One got banned earlier which was hilarious. Hopefully BHVR will wake up and give people a frickin IGNORE/BLOCK feature on the forums so people who actually wanna discuss things can without the idiocy of the trolls.

  • Maybe check the.. oh I dunno... BUG section?

Run Franklins - who cares what perks you run - ignore end game chat if it bothers you to deal with sweaty comments.

    Tada.

I can't do it! I cannot play Trickster in this state. I've never been the one to dc from matches since the penalty, but playing Trickster pushes it too far! Now i've gone from 4 min to 13 mins somehow.

######### is wrong with that penalty system anyway? Shouldn't there be a refresh state somewhere along the line?

Dammit Devs, DO YOUR JOB RIGHT!!!!!

Yes please keep purposefully DCing so the rest of us don't have to deal with you.

  • @SnowMiser said:

SWF shouldn't even be in the game, I open the friend list of every survivor I come across. If there are friends, report both for cheating and dodge the lobby.

Glad to see you are wasting your time and crying wolf. FYI saying the same thing over and over won't make it true. Just because YOU think something is cheating - I will go by what BHVR considers cheating - since ya know - it's their game. Have fun playing in your personal salt mine.

  • @WiiFitTrainer said:

As soon as Microsoft and bhvr reach a deal that disables all other software from running at the same time as dbd.

Yes because Microsoft; who is in negotiations to buy Discord, will definitely want to upset their users by disabling the ability for them to use Discord in games. LOL.

And BHVR has already stated numerous times that comms are allowed and not viewed as cheating.

But you keep living in your fantasy world.

FYI - I am a killer main and have NO issue with comms or SWFs - I actually prefer going against SWFs - makes the games more fun and more rewarding when I beat them :)

  • I mainly play solo when I play survivor BUT playing with even 1 friend as a survivor can make the game more enjoyable.

  • I play red rank survivor and can say with 100% certainty that while red ranks are harder - it's not because every red rank killer tunnels/camps. They are harder because they have more time in the game and have learned how to shut down loops and mind game survivors.

But hey - have fun on your other account.

  • @HuDawg said:

I want to hear all your opinions on dodging SWF. I've been guilty of cherry picking my lobby many times before and i dont think it will stop if i see a SWF whether its 3 or 4 man on red rank with flashlights then nope im out.

I've never dodged a lobby - what's the point? Assuming people are in a SWF - ok? SWFs are not all powerful - I have faced plenty of derpy SWFs in my 4+ years. If I notice the survivors can be particularly sweaty - I may change a perk or two to help me out, but that's about it.

Nah there are some 3 gens, most famously on old giddeons where doctor with double range addons could permanently lock you in tier 3 and make no effort to hit, down or hook you. You'd have doctors taking games hostage for 4 hours + and spinning in circles on top of survivors before walking away.

Playing doctor is not taking the game hostage but you don't know what you're talking about or replying to.

Pssst don't 3 gen yourself then :) Because survivors played bad and 3 gened themselves does not constitute taking the game hostage.

FYI 4 hours? Hyperbole much? Please point me to a vod of this supposed 4 hour stand off. I mean I am sure it was kept as a highlight since it was such a HUGE "accomplishment." I have been playing Doctor since he came out in May 2017 - I have over 2500 hours on him - so yeah I think I know what I am talking about. I also track ALL my matches and know that my longest match since May 2017 on Doctor was 41 minutes, but yes please tell me about these matches that lasted SIX TIMES longer than my longest. FYI the 41 minute match was a 3-gen on Coldwind in November 2019 where 1 eventually escaped (through the hatch).

Doctor can increase his terror radius to 62 meters (with specific perks and addons) which means every 60 seconds he can inflict 1 stage of Madness every 60 seconds in that area - otherwise he has to chase and use Shock Therapy - so yes the survivors played it bad - by not spreading out and forcing the Doctor to target 1-2 instead of 3-4. Gideon has a total area of 76 meters on top and 66 meters on the bottom. So in your scenario the survivors were not held hostage, but rather simply played bad...for a laughable 4 hours. There are a lot of killers I do not know well, but Doctor is not one of them.

  • OK well - it's gonna be awhile. There are many reasons you could be facing higher ranks, but honestly - rank does not equal skill in this game.

  • Sooooooooooo you like chocolate ice cream?

It isn't even a time thing, it's either the game progresses (at any rate) or not.

3 gen sniper doctor permanently keeping survs t3ed so they physically can't do the gens = taking the game hostage.

Body blocking multiple people in a corner when nobody else is bleeding out, no generators are being regressed with ruin and nobody else is on the other side to do something is keeping the game hostage.

Stuff that prevents the game from ending = keeping the game hostage.

Everything else is fair and good.

Hate to break it to you but keeping survivors at madness tier 3 - is what Doctors can do and is not considered taking the game hostage. Tier 3 Madness is how Doctors stop gen progression and frankly if every survivor is stupid enough to get to tier 3 and stay close - that's on them!

  • Nope - I have end game chat hidden. If they wanna trash talk me they have to come to my stream - then I just ban them if they are idiots. Generally though the only people form games who come to my streams are people to say GG etc.

  • Nothing wrong with NOED the way it is. I don't use it, but when I play survivor - I just do totems to avoid it.

  • Ignore end game chat - it serves no purpose. Why do you give a flying crap what strangers think of you? No seriously... just turn it off - makes playing way more fun.

  • I played 12 hours yesterday as a survivor - had a lot of fun. Only had one killer who truly tunneled/camped. So - games are going well.

  • Which bugs make it so you can't play?

As far as I know there is no bug which makes it so you can't play. If you are referencing the pallet bug - it's inconvenient at times, but definitely doesn't make it so you can't play.

  • Guess what - some people leave the game for a few months at a time - nature of gaming. Some people only come back every 3 months or so for new killers. Another common scenario - people play survivor the majority of the time and put their BP into killers but rarely actually play killers.

    It's not some conspiracy.

there's bugs that have been 'acknowledged' for months now

You asked if there was "any word" on these bugs - which is why I pointed out that such things are posted/discussed in the BUG forum. The official comments on bugs are relayed in the BUG forums. Sometimes they state WHEN they will be fixed - otherwise they acknowledge the bug exists etc - no one else is going to give a date if one is not available.

  • Pssst you can find information on BUGS - in the BUG forum. Would have saved yourself a post and informed you on the state of the bugs.

  • I haven't seen any real increase in camping or tunneling. You could just be having a string of bad players.. both survivor and killer alike.

If you're not having fun though and feel you need to leave - that's understandable.

What I find interesting though is your own quote from January 16, 2021 in the thread: Is it ok to tunnel...?:

"it´s a bad strategy but ofc its ok, play how you want. Not how other ppl´s want. Theres no rulebook and if suvivors wanna cry like a baby, let them. Most of them can´t take a loss. Standard in DBD" https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1878565#Comment_1878565

TOXIC means Bad Attitude and Behavior in an online gaming context. so just because you see it as silly doesn't mean it isnt toxic

So you are telling me what I can and cannot view as bad? Excuse me?

I stated my view: I view them as silly not bad or toxic or being a "bad attitude." On the contrary I stated TO ME they are not offensive - I stated my view - I do not view them as "TOXIC."

Those behaviors are toxic to you - and you know what - that's ok and perfectly acceptable that you view that behavior as bad/toxic and that you state your view, but guess what - that does not take away from my ability to state my view even if it is contrary to yours. So yes I can certainly think and state that the behaviors are not toxic - because that's MY view. You will find that in an online forum everyone does not think the same. In forums people have different views than yours. These different views do not take away from the legitimacy of your views - just like your views do not take away from the legitimacy of my views. So please don't disrespect others by delegitimizing their views.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2096216#Comment_2096216

yet again you ignore the first thing i say in the original argument, just because you as a person doesn't see Tbagging as toxic doesn't mean it isnt toxic, Tbagging is basically taunting, which in itself is disrespectful or "toxic" and Tbagging is just one thing in the "plethora" of other things like face camping among other various things that are disrespectful, i play a game to have fun, not to get disrespected.

Although i agree with you're second statement of the nature of the game "creates frustration and heated debates" however thats within certain bounds, how come i can play some games and have a actually good time with a nice killer/survivors and other times i get face-camped.

I dont see how you can so focused on one thing while ignoring the original statement, i put those numbers in there just to put them there i wasn't trying to prove the fact that its dying im trying to say the community is forcing DBD down a rabbit hole that just spirals and spirals

Because I don't view teabagging, face camping, tunneling, flickering flashlights, etc... as toxic behavior. I find these actions to be silly not offensive or "toxic."

  • @MerryJuanNa said:

You literally ignored my first half, i didn't make this post to start an argument about how many people play i made this post to talk about how much of those people are toxic, as i said im new to these forums but im not new to DBD, ive seen the toxicity get more and more common with each update. you also ignored the fact that i said both numbers will go up as more and more people buy the game. On November 16, 2017, more than 3 million copies were sold. As of May 2019, the game sold more than 5 million copies. In August 2020, the game reached more than 25 million players across all platforms, and i said 10 million on just ps4 (https://gamstat.com/games/Dead_by_Daylight/) we cant see how many people play DBD but still that still equals out around 1 to 2% of people playing daily and AGAIN as more people buy it, more people will both play it and more people will stop playing it. Im saying the main reason why people dont play it is because of its community lest take the peak of concurrent DBD player to date which is 77k lets say they play for 5 hours a day (just as you said it not true it just makes it easier) thats 385k players at its PEAK, now idk about you but 385k players is a far cry form the 10 million confirmed total player count.

And again... of those DAILY users you have no idea if some of them only play once or twice a week or 7 days a week so you have NO IDEA how many people play DBD in a given month. No one is denying that 25 million people do not play the game every day or every week or every month - then again NO GAME can say that everyone who has bought their game plays on a regular basis. I bought Phasmophobia and played it 2 hours total. I have the Sims 4 and have played that maybe 5 times. Do you play every game you have bought all the time? People play or don't play for a plethora of reasons - including but not limited to "toxicity."

I have played this game since January 2017 - and I do not think the "community" is any more or less toxic than it has always been. This is a competitive game of two sides working against one another - that in and of itself creates frustration and heated debate.

Do I think teabagging is toxic? No not really - silly more than anything. But ya see - I don't let the actions of others bother me - especially strangers in an online game.

  • @MerryJuanNa said:

when i said DBD is declining i mean i see more campers tbaggers, flashlight clickers than i did when i first started playing, it seems as though every game nowadays has at least one of those toxic traits, and in return the people who are the victim become toxic themselves

FYI yes i did mention the analytics but even if you were to count 214k players as you previously stated there's still the fact that over 10 million people in just one console have played DBD and they didn't like then they left, lets assume that both those numbers were on steam, 214k players i just 2.14% of how many people bought it so that means that 97.86% people that bought it stop playing afterwards for some reason and yes how much people that play it is going up but the number of people that buy it is also going up basically saying that the as more people play it more people are also dropping it.

Your math is flawed. 214k people play the game DAILY - that could mean it is the exact same 214k people every day or it could be up to 6 million people per month. 214,000 total DAILY players does not equate 1. How often people play or 2. the number of active players who play on any day of the month - the only people who know exactly how many TOTAL players play is BHVR. You also have no idea how many people who have purchased the game have ever played it or are currently playing it on a regular basis. The only thing we can basically summarize is how many DAILY players there are each day based off of the stream charts, but we have no way of determining if those people played the day before...or the day after.

  • @TheVolgun said:

What reason is ther to click the flashlight, i get if thekiller was toxic click away but some of yall just do it at eveer pallet or window or anything and i dont understand why.

    Please help me understand

Yes because all survivor mains do this... eyeroll. If you are a killer and play 1,000 matches that means you would potentially interact with 4,000 survivors - of the roughly 30,000 players who play survivor - daily. So once again - generalizing what survivors/survivor mains do is a broad generalization to say the least.

The only time I have ever "clicked" my flashlight was to try and blind the killer. Am I survivor main? Technically - no - I play roughly 60% of the time as killer so I have "only" played about 1,900 hours as a survivor.

  • Pssst rank means nothing.

  • @MerryJuanNa said:

I've been playing the game for years and just recently joined the forums due to me play a lot more recently, however it seems that with time DBD has just slowly declined into a sad and sorry state. DBD has always been a game where its hard against both the killer and the survivor, but seeing the community its seems as though the killer mains and survivor mains are at war for which side is more broken, i guess thats how all competitive games are. the DBD community is getting more and more toxic, with people from both sides denouncing the other. its like a cut the festers and gets worse with time. I know that analytically DBD isnt declining https://steamcharts.com/app/381210#All but 55 thousand concurrent players doesn't sound that good when you hear that 10 million people made account that have bought DBD on PS4. it just makes me think how the community is either the toxic people or people who are new to the game and are soon going to be toxic.

There has always been a "war" of survivor and killer mains on the forums. Since you are new to the forums I am not sure how you could surmise that the community has "slowly declined into a sad and sorry state." Toxicity is a vague term to say the least; and very open to interpretation. Do people on these forums argue endlessly, use hyperbole, throw out vitriol, and ramble on and on about the same issues - yes they do - welcome to the internet. I have been gaming since 1996 and have been involved in MANY forums as a poster and moderator and if you think these forums are more "toxic" than most forums - you are sadly mistaken.

FYI according to steam charts DBD has seen two of it's highest peak player months within the last year. Peak players and average players are an indicator of a games health, but you have to remember that 55k players is at ONE time not the total number of people playing the game THAT day. People do not...generally...play DBD all day so you have to take that number and figure out how many PLAYERS are actually playing per day. Let's assume that everyone plays for 4 hours a day (not true (some more and some less) but makes this WAY easier) - that would be on average 214k players for the past 30 days...per day. DBD currently has 20% more concurrent and peak players than it did a year ago and nearly double what they had two years ago - and nearly triple what they had 3 years ago.

Arr you stupid or a troll? I bet on troll, so this will be my last reply.

It's pretty telling that your only replies are ad hominem attacks - I will add you to the list of posters that I will refrain from replying to in the future.

  • I am 47 and have been playing since the beginning of 2017. Most of the people I am friends with in-game and/or play with are in their 20's or early 30's.

  • You mean because I think people should say what they mean and mean what they say? Or is it because I don't play the victim in life? Comparing my behavior at a party to my statements on an online forum where people constantly use vitriol and hyperbole in an attempt to pass that off as factual is nonsensical to say the least.

Maybe instead of trying to disparage me with an ad hominem statement - stick to the topic at hand?

No one is being FORCED to start from zero. No one is making people switch platforms. No one is forcing you to even play the game. The meaning of words matter - and frankly "forced" is the wrong word in this scenario.

  • When I play with a friend he always says "Oh God you spawned next to me.. I can hear your breathing!"

I play Feng - and she is quite loud. I just tell my friend: "She has asthma be nice!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • Can't relate: I have end game chat disabled.

While there are a lot of idiots in this community (in game and on the forums) - I have met a lot of really fun people as well. I just have no need to see the stupidity in end game chat so I ignore it. I wish there was an ignore button on the forums as well, but I just skip threads started by the more well known idiots/trolls on the forums as they serve no real purpose.
