Considering 75% of the posts on this forum fit this criteria, it is hard to ignore.
I still don't understand why there is no Block/Ignore User function on these forums. It's not a new feature and most forums have some way of blocking other users.

I mean if you are good with throws - then it's not really a problem - down a survivor - hook - reload.
Huntress is my 2nd main killer - and never bothered with Iri heads.

Why are you focusing this on survivor players? they are not villains, they are just using the busted and unbalanced things the devs give them. the villains are the greedy dev's / people in charge who refuse to give solo players the same information without perks and refuse to touch swf in any way because it generates money.
I do play solo survivor, and i can't escape rank 2-1 as killer unless i force it. I have had games where everyone had kindred and the killer stood no chance. we did the gens so fast that everyone got a safety pip because nobody wasted time (multiple survivors leaving gens for saves or to see if the killer is camping etc)
The only reason swf don't gen and out is because of the pip system and they are bored...
In one sentence you say you can't escape. The next you say the killer has no chance with an in-game perk if everyone has it. And then in another sentence you say that SWFs don't genrush and leave because - they want bloodpoints. Seriously - pick a stance and stick to it. Your post makes no sense and contradicts itself. Not sure if it is a construction issue or a proofreading issue, but I seriously have no clue what you are implying.
I'll say it again - like I have said numerous times in the forums: I have no issue with SWFs - I like the challenge they bring. Doesn't bother me if they are on comms in the slightest. Do I always 4k against them?? Nope. Have I left red rank killer in the past 3.5 years - Only for one day each month when rank resets and I go to 5. So if I can maintain red rank (1-2) against SWFs - and I am by no means a pro - where does the issue lie? For reference btw - I play Doctor, Huntress, and Plague mainly as killer. Killers shouldn't 4k every match and survivors shouldn't escape every match - welcome to gaming. If all you want are easy wins - good luck finding an asymmetrical game where you can do that.
One more thing - best to avoid words that insinuate absolutes like "only reason" - SWFs don't "gen and out" for a plethora of reasons - including the fact that the killer has killed them or is applying enough pressure to slow them down.

These swf are easy. they are not doing gens and are constantly following you around playing into your perks
The real bullies do gens asap and leave with the focus of de-pipping the killer.
Well I have been playing 4.5 years - and a red rank killer almost 4 years - I have faced quite a few SWFs. I never said they were all alike. What I said was to adapt. If you try to play against a SWF like you do randoms - you will not be as successful. While facing SWFs at lower ranks without a lot of perks can be hard - it is not impossible. The game is supposed to be challenging otherwise it gets quite boring. If you suspect the survivors are a SWF - change some perks, change your addons, change your playstyle - adapt. I realize that a lot of "killer mains" like to paint all/most SWFs as the boogeyman, but that's mainly hyperbole and an unwillingness to change their playstyle and whine when they lose. I mean they have to blame something on their loss - and very few accept it was their gameplay that contributed to their defeat. Newsflash - you will lose as a killer and survivor - that's the nature of the game.
Not knocking killers...or supporting survivors - just pointing out the ridiculousness of SWF hatred and the vitriol and hyperbolic rantings on these forums...which goes both ways by "killer mains" and "survivor mains." I wish more people actually played both sides almost equally - that would stop a lot of the stupid rants by both sides. Survivors and Killers play for the same basic reasons: Fun, Challenge, Bloodpoints, Pips, etc. I am not out to depip anyone when I am survivor or killer - I am however out to get some pips/bloodpoints for myself. Villainizing either side serves no purpose in achieving your goals or "winning" a match.
-
I take advantage of their altruism. I had a SWF with 3 flashlights the other day - two were found during match. After multiple blinds when I would try to hook - I just slugged them and hooked them individually. They wanted their friend to live so bad they played horribly by staying close to the downed survivor.
I have only ever truly been "bullied" by SWF once in 4.5 years - so it is what it is. My success rate against SWF is only slightly lower than 4 randoms. You just have to learn to adapt your playstyle when you know they are communicating, defending, etc. I prefer going against SWFs as it is more of a challenge. You will see some "killer mains" claim all/most SWFs are practically unbeatable, but I haven't encountered that yet - and while I have been red rank for 3+ years - I am not a "pro" by any standard. I also don't consider a 2k or 3k a loss - I go by bloodpoints/emblems/pips. Not saying you won't "lose" to some SWFs, but you lose and learn.
Just remember - it's just a game.

What is the point of this thread?
He's one of those killer mains who wants validation and an ego boost. I find "killer mains" and "survivor mains" cringey when they post.
-
I am a 50/50 player and have never PURPOSEFULLY hit the person off the hook. Why? Because it is cheap to me. I have no issues getting 3/4ks majority of the time without ANY form of tunneling. I have been red rank survivor/killer longer than most "killer mains" or "survivor mains" have even played the game.
How do I play killer? How I would like my killers to play. I believe in karma and would not want to be that killer who makes a match completely unfun for another player. So I don't tunnel (in any form), camp, teabag, etc.
-
I am a 50/50 killer/survivor player and think the changes to DS were needed and completely acceptable.
If you are progressing the game then you are not being tunneled - and yes healing is progressing the game.
DS is meant to stop a killer from chasing you off the hook - and it works. If you can run off and heal, do totems, repair gens, etc - you are not being tunneled...period.
-
Felix makes me think of Alexander Skarsgard
-
Cue the survivor and killer "main" hyperbole.....
-
Neither. You will find survivor mains who say survivor and Survivor mains who will say killer.
I play almost 50/50 - more like 55/45 killer/survivor and each side has it's pros and cons when it comes to gameplay and balance.
All threads like this accomplish is a bunch of vitriol and hyperbole - which is the norm for about 80% of the threads on these forums.
-
The whole GGEZ thing is used by survivors and killers alike...to show off their peen and IQ issues.
I don't bother with end game chat anymore because frankly the majority of it was just people being stupid to other players.
-
Probably because of the controversy surrounding the banned reddit of the same name as well as the appropriation of the alt-right online to use it as a way to degrade people of color, LGBT+ persons, and Jewish persons.
-
Everyone doesn't.
Meg and Claudette are free so a lot of people start with those survivors.
-
Yep all 3 minutes of it LOL. I did not fare well my first survivor match.
-
I love threads where both sides resort to complete hyperbole.
It's like watching 4th graders debate.
-
Uhm that isn't how it works. If someone DCs once the map has loaded - the other survivors either have to DC to leave - die - or escape.
Even if this worked - not sure I know many SWFs who would wanna sit around and wait 5 mins more between matches - because of the map offering. It's not like experienced players don't have a ton of map offerings lol.
-
It's not that the team COULDN'T do these things - it's just that they have no reason to do these things. Just because some people on the forums want something - that is not indicative of what a large percentage of the community wants. So why would BHVR invest time/money/resources into something; especially like Prop hunt - which do nothing to further the game.
I would avoid the PROP HUNT one like..no pun intended... the Plague. If the point is to make the game more realistic/scary that is not the way to do it. There's a small niche group of people who tend to Prop hunt mod almost every game it seems - and imo more often than not - ruin the core of the game.
As for 8v2 - it's a cool concept but realistically it would need some balancing and imo new/bigger maps. Would I play an official 8v2 version of DBD - sure why not, but it's not something at the top of my request list of changes.

Thats right. Im hoping i dont get with a breakdown squad with no mither as well x.x
You would think according to the forums it is happening every match - I have played 91 matches since the bug started and only had two survivors in two different matches who had the perk. I'm not saying it isn't an issue that doesn't happen, but like a lot of things on these forums: hyperbole.
-
Well it does send a visual alert as well when you sprint into a locker. So if the killer saw the notification - and then you didn't pop up on their BBQ - they could easily assume you ran into a locker and were still there.

Whenever I play killer like I'm supposed to, the survivors get upset. When I'm running a perk/build/killer they don't like, the survivors get upset. When I'm a friendly killer, they get upset. All of these reasons, they have reported me.
I'm just nervous at the end of the day, I will be banned for having a good time. What should I be doing so survivors are happy at the end of the game? Let them win?
I honestly couldn't care less what perks killers or survivors run. I don't care if a killer brings iri addons or if survivors bring a key.
Some people just like to blame perks/addons/offerings as to why they don't "win."
You cannot be banned for equipping anything that is in the game.

As someone who doesn't even have an option (Switch player here, believe it or not we do exist) I would personally love the option to chat afterwards. Go hey you did really good ggs, or even make some friends. Without it you're really excluded to your friend group. And like you said, you have the the option to turn it off. In fact, you WANT it off, you don't NEED it off. So I personally am I fan of this idea.
Never said people didn't want it. My qualm was with the misrepresentation of chat as a need in this game.
Also never even remotely insinuated that I needed end game chat off.
-
I tried HSHS - didn't really enjoy it. I will wait until the finished release and try it again. Unless there are some DRAMATIC changes/improvements though - I doubt I will play it more than once.
-
Never done it as a killer - never had a reason to do it.
Had it done to me twice as a survivor - it's whatever. I just chatted with my stream as I bled out one time and watched a video the other time.

End game chat not pre game what's wrong with you? You don't like chat i do it's fun
Had you read my comment you would see I specifically addressed end game chat. So what's wrong with you?
Your comment said it was NEEDED - you WANT it - it is not NEEDED. Words matter. Huge difference between need and want.
Or as my grandmother always said: Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

And for that chat is needed
Chat is not NEEDED either pre or post game. Do you think we are having lengthy conversations in pre-game chat?? I can guarantee you the odds of anything actual game related ever being said is like .5%. In the past 4 years of playing I think two people have said something like:
"I have a crystal bead on my map" and "I have borrowed time" - neither of which I NEEDED to know as I would have easily discovered in game.
99.5% of the time it's either something random, something moronic, or a simple GLHF.
And don't get me going on end-game chat. End game chat is why I turned off chat completely as it was mainly just a cesspool of toxicity, racism, homophobia, etc.

"Our" in this context is the group of people that are unhappy with the current way things are. Saying someone is talking for everyone is just lunacy but hey, let's just ignore all the obvious things everyone universally agreed upon that are awful such as Moris and Keys, Trickster, Twins etc and just give the balance team a pass because the "Community" has differing opinions.
And yet you keep using words like "everyone." I hate to break it to you but there was NO consensus on moris or the changes to moris. there is no consensus on keys nor what should be done with keys. Just because you type "everyone universally agreed" does not make it true. It's easy to prove - look on the forums. There are not many things that this community agrees on - especially "universally."

Our main gripes are with the balance employees and probably the bug fixing department, if one even exists here. Art, Music, etc are all great but when it just keeps consistently being that same department that can't pull their heads out of their asses you can see why a lot of people are volatile.
Who is "our" - Are you speaking for all players? All forum members? Pretty sure you don't. I think you will find that the player base has differing opinions on what is good and what needs fixed/modified/added in the game.
-
Pssst you can disable chat - it makes the game way more enjoyable.
Are PLAYERS toxic - yep killer and survivors. Back when I had chat on I would get "toxic" comments from both sides as I play both sides 50/50. But then I made a decision to disable chat and have no regrets. End game chat does nothing for the game. I decided instead of getting offended about stupid people on the internet - I would be proactive and just stop reading it.
Tada.
-
I prefer survivors to have DH as killer - way easier on me than Lithe or Sprint Burst. I've went against DH enough to know how to counter it and I can count on my hands out of the last 50 or so games where DH actually helped extend a chase longer than 3 seconds.
-
I find it funny all the killers on the forums who are afraid of Deadhard. I would much rather a survivor have Deadhard than Lithe as a killer.
I don't think DH needs any changes - and no - I don't use it on survivor unless it's a challenge.
-
Imagine not proofreading your title when trying to insinuate that something/someone is not - competent.
I have played many games since I started gaming in 1996 - is BHVR the best - absolutely not, but they are competent. Not sure if you know what the word means, but BHVR has been competent - acceptable and satisfactory, though not outstanding.

I just like to try something, but it was the first time I was in a game hostage situation, and yes next time I will just dc.
I mean DC is an option, but literally would be faster to bleed out than take the ban - plus at least you would still keep your bloodpoints. I have never seen DC'd on purpose - seems silly to get banned and lose points on purpose.
-
It's working as intended - nothing to be fixed.
-
I haven't noticed any increase at all in tunneling. I generally get red/purple rank killers so not sure if it is happening in other ranks.

I ran the killer for 4 generators, then he left me and we were in a 3 gen situation (which was not my fault because I was doing the chase)
The 3 generators were very close to each other, and my friend and I tried to do one of them but it was impossible because the two other survivors were looking for a hatch that was not already spawn.
The killer was just kicking the generators over and over, and they were so close that it was impossible to complete them because we were only two doing generators.
The killer wasnt doing chases but if we stay too close he tried to get a hit to make us ran away. But he stays close to that 3 gen situation.
I would have seen the match was a loss - stayed on the gens and made him hit me and down me. Worst case you lay there for 4 minutes and bleed out - or he actually hooked you and you could just suicide on hook. If the three gen is that close - after a few minutes you should realize it's a no-win with the other survivors doing nothing and change your strategy. Sometimes it's better to just cut your losses and get out of the match and ready up for a new one.
-
I'm so confused:
Did you 3 gen yourselves?
You said the killer didn't want to chase anyone - so what prevented you from completing a gen?
If the killer wasn't killing you - grabbing you off gens - then why didn't you just complete them?
Even if he grabbed you and dropped you - you said the other players weren't doing anything but looking for hatch - so why didn't you bleed out?

Because I spend a lot of time in it. It wasn't so bad at the beginning and I didn't have a other console or pc. But then it got worse with every update and every map rework. Now I have a ps5 but have to start new while I have a unplayable version with all survivor perks and all killers perks, a few p3 and a lot maxed killers... I hope crossprogression is coming soon...
Oh ok. Honestly I have never played a Switch and cannot imagine trying to play DBD on something so small so I was curious as to the allure of it. I can barely tolerate playing card games on my phone (Note 20 which has a 1/2 inch bigger screen than Switch) let alone one like DBD lol.
-
Serious question: If it is so bad - why do you continue to play it on Switch? Honest question. If I was running a game and it ran THAT bad on PC - I just wouldn't bother playing it. So since this has always been an issue; which is what a friend told me it has (I've never played it on Switch) - then why continue? Not being snarky - just trying to understand why.
I guess if it were me and I bought a game and it ran like poop - I would just be pissed and not play it because frankly it doesn't sound at all fun if it runs like that. Even if I wanted to play the game - I'm not gonna waste my time playing an inferior copy, because... it sounds horrible.
-
Needless changes. Doctor is probably one fo the most balanced killers there is out there - there is no need to complicate his powers.
-
I think for the most part they are all pretty balanced. In the hands of a good player - almost any killer can be considered OP.

If it's progress, why do we still not have in game comms?
Why would the Devs worry about putting it in when they already have an official Discord that they encourage people to use? Putting in a comm system will cost time/money - Discord is free. BHVR is a business - no sense in making tools that already exist for your customers to use for free.

Ah yes, start with the immediate insult to belittle my claim. Moving that aside, anybody that plays killer long enough knows that camping has to be done in many cases. The killer doesn't have time to 12-hook the survivor group and they aren't responsible for survivors having fun in the game or being in the game long. Its the survivors job to stay alive and the killers job to kill, if you get camped then you need to run the killer better and not get caught. With DS, Borrowed Time, and having 3 other teammates, you can absolutely beat any mindless camper, but no lets gut any playstyle that doesn't let 4 man escapes happen because "the killer is ruining the survivor experience".
Just over 3600 games as killer and no camping does not have to be done in many cases. I easily get 2-4ks and good bloodpoints without having to resort to camping. I don't camp or tunnel because I know how crappy it feels to have done to you as a survivor.
