Blood warden it's a bad perk, and it require hooking a survivor at the end game, noed it's the only things remotely near a second chance perk and no way out, it's just 20 second, most of the time when I arrive at the exit gate as a survivor the effect it's already off

You may consider Blood Warden a bad perk - doesn't mean it's not a 2nd chance perk. And FYI No Way Out can last up to 42 seconds.

Just because YOU don't like a perk doesn't change the fact that they are second chance perks for killers.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

You can tell me how to play when you stop using all the second chance perk that correct your mistakes. I don't find that fun. I find it both boring and frustrating.

Oh please - as if killer's don't have second chance perks as well - ahem NOED - Blood Warden - No Way Out.

Just keeping it real. I am a 50/50 player and not some survivor or killer "main."

  • It's called control. As a Doctor main I generally safeguard the 4 gens closest to one another. I force the survivors away from those gens through madness and hooking. I use this strategy almost exclusively on Doctor - because that's what he is good at. He is not the fastest killer and doesn't have any increased map mobility like Spirit, Blight, Billy, Hag, etc.. he is only an m1 killer. The Doctor's "trick" is control.

I started playing Doctor the day he was released and have mained him since then. Do my Doctor matches take longer than when I play Huntress, Plague, or Hag - absolutely. I also almost always get way more bloodpoints from each match I play Doctor - as do the survivors. I don't get 4ks at 4-5 gens, but I get plenty of 4ks at 0-2 gens :)

The generator time is moot if my team is too damn concerned with using their stupid key on the hatch that has spawned because we did enough generators - instead of finishing the last generator we needed to power the gate in the first place.

The annoyance came from me being on death hook - so it wasn't like I could just run to him to prematurely end the chase.

And chase points are meaningless to me when they're already maxed out from the Killer's low rank/chase capability previously - maybe if BHVR didn't have leaden-hands and heavy handed everything about Bloodpoints and the grind, maybe.

    --

And again for the people that keep saying "if he was that close blah blah", no - he was inexperienced enough that I could lose him in chases, but close enough that I when I could start slipping away from him to Snap Out of It. the moment I did; here comes the damned illusion triggering every handful of seconds constantly that just immediately drew him back to the area and right back on me because Snap progress isn't cumulative and has to be done all at once.

It's literally not a case of he was on my ass the entire time.

It was a case of, without his gods damned hallucination tracking ability, he would have lost me in the chase and I could've snapped out of Tier 3 to resume normal gameplay.

I understand 99% of the Survivor playerbase wants 'Tag Time with the Killer on the Playground' but some of us actually enjoy the aspect of trying to do the generators and, you know - not getting caught by the killer for stupid things like a badly implemented power. like Survivors SHOULD be emphasizing in their gameplay instead of this backwards ass game design.

Ironically (though not to most people probably) I find Trapper extremely annoying. Strong, no. Not close. Annoying as hell though.

I think his traps are too "Safe" from Survivors.

I think when they are disarmed, they should break and respawn instead of him just waltzing back over to reset them. I also Trapper should start with a bag of 5 traps that he can manually place - and then a handful of extras littering the map. Broken traps would refund to the bag first and then respawn to the map if the bag is full.

On that same token, I think Survivors without items should be able to pick up unarmed traps - even if they were Exposed while carrying it or had their auras repeatedly shown to the killer every couple of seconds while carrying it.

But that's just me - Trapper is extremely 'not engaging' as everyone likes to toss out to other killer commentary; and more just an absolutely annoyance than being actually 'good'.

Well I have no advice for you. Seems you have very specific designs for a game and this isn't confining to those restrictions. Guess you can always just DC if it's a Doctor. They won't be changing his illusions. Doctor has been overhauled already and if anything he could use a slight boost...slight. The Doctor is an information m1 killer - that is his niche. There are things I don't like about certain killers, but unlike you I understand that each killer has a niche they fill for those playing the killer. Doctor is not alone in his ability being non-resistible.

I hate Pigs traps - not only do they consume time I can be doing gens - they also give the Pig locations they can monitor and easy down...for example.

Each killer has something you have to do to overcome or a change you need to make in your playstyle to try and beat them - welcome to DBD.

WOW what a great idea, it's not like there's a 100% chance that someone has already done that, it's a known issue, my post is bringing up the fact that it's been a known issue for way to long .

In other words you just wanted to complain. So instead of posting in the BUG section which is where this should have been - you just wanted to enlighten us all to your struggles.

  • Yeah and you shouldn't vomit with Plague if you have it!! I mean how calm are people when they are running and vomiting!? (sarcasm)

Speaking of which - Calm Spirit also should disable the ability to sprint at all because running increases your heart rate! (more sarcasm)

Your "justification" for the change is pedantic to say the least. The perk works as intended and needs no change. Maybe learn to avoid Static Blast and Shock Therapy better so you won't see the Illusions.

  • Just like very other reputable game studio - they aren't going to tell you what they did to the person you report. I have never played a game since I began gaming in 1996 that does tell you "Oh we banned them..." etc.

I know people I have reported have been suspended/banned because a few have come into my stream to yell at me for it... lol.

  • I play basically 50/50 - and find the hyperbole and vitriol by so-called "mains" on both sides to be inane.

Huh, wonder why I ran into three squads, then. My bad.

Nothing wrong with squads running it - the hooks will not respawn for 3 minutes, but I can confirm they do respawn now after the patch.

    • Fixed an issue that could prevent hooks from respawning if broken with the perk "Breakdown."

I feel like forcing survivors to drop their items is kind of like petty theft, but at the same time, keys exist so it's kind of necessary. So what's the general consensus of Franklin's Demise? Toxic or a necessary evil?

No. Franklin's is a great perk to counter keys and flashlights. Then again I don't think any perk (survivor or killer) is toxic - they are simply tools to help you "win."

  • @Nos37 said:

Object of Obsession has been gutted.

Stop being toxic about its existence when you see someone with it and tunneling them out of the game for it. It's not the same perk anymore. Calm down. Geez.

    ----

Ever since I've heard about OoO's coming nerf I've been waiting to put together a seer build (Premonition, Dark Sense, Object of Obsession, and Alert). It's not OP. I'm not feeding info to a SWF. I'm not part of a SWF. Stop harassing me over it.

So you run a perk that reveals your aura to the killer, but you want the killer to ignore this information?? Uhh ok.

As a 50/50 player I say: Get over it. You are choosing to run that perk. You are choosing to say "Hey killer - here I am!" every 30 seconds.

As far as your "Seer" build goes - doesn't sound very useful for anything but hiding - which is always so useful to the other 3 random teammates (sarcasm).

  • @Jmang1245 said:

When I used to main killer the thing I found most annoying was actually flashlight saves and Pallet Saves, not keys. I mean you chase someone for a minute or 2 just to have their team mate save them and then like 2-3 gens pop. Pretty annoying.

Well your problem isn't the flashlights - it's the fact you are chasing people for "a minute or 2" - that's why people are popping gens left and right. You lost those matches because you were too focused on one survivor.

Yes i know i had a bit of a tantrum because its happened alot recently with keys, even though im not in rage anymore, my point still stands, i get keys every day 😔

Hyper focus anyone with a key or bring Franklin's - that's what I do. I think I have had maybe 2-3 key escapes (max 2 people) maybe 3 times out of my last 60 or so killer matches.

in NERF KEYS Comment by Jasix
  • Uhm any killer can chase and track you easily - especially if they are as close as you say he was.

It's obvious the killer was new - otherwise why would they engage in a chase for so long. You are taking one newbie killer experience and blowing things WAY out of proportion. New killers tend to be hyper focused on a survivor they find and chase for way too long - but the good news is that gives your team time to do generators. They will hopefully learn to abandon a chase after 20-30 seconds - otherwise they won't do well as a killer in the long run as a killer.

Nothing needs changed with the Doctor's powers. I am not sure what rank you are that you are facing a rank 20 Doctor, but I am assuming you are lower rank since you were able to loop for more than a minute. Instead of looking for the negative - look for the positive - you gave your teammates more than a minute to heal/do gens/totems etc... and in the process gained quite a few chase points.

  • Yawn. Oh look - this again.

Nothing DEMANDS you play killer - you can easily dismiss dailies and do the survivor side of the rift.

FYI if you are punching walls because of a game - maybe you should not play for a bit.

a killer who chase hook and kill would be playing the game but if you read the original post I mentioned people who dont play

they (to quote spongebob) stand there menacingly

Well - we call those AFK Killers - not non-farmers. Non-farmers insinuates a killer who chases/hooks/kills.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

  • Hide? No - I will just look for totems and open chests. Hiding accomplishes nothing and you may as well do something if you are next to the corrupted gens.

  • I am confused as to what you mean. Non-farmers? So killers who chase/hook/kill?

    Uhhh huh?

I was in a lengthy discussion in the chat with a bunch of survivors who kept telling me that tunneling is not part of the game and that I shouldn't do it. I heard a lot in my time playing DbD about tunneling, but never that it outright isn't part of the game.

I got disconnected from the server before I got a conclusive answer, so my curiosity remains piqued: is there a convincing argument of why tunneling is not part of the game, when it, as far as I'm concerned, clearly is.

Keep in mind that the question is "is not part, because...", not "shouldn't be part, because..."

It obviously is a part of the game - so I think your inquiry is disingenuous to say the least and meant only to start yet another boring circular thread.

With that said - I don't ever tunnel as killer (I play 50/50 killer/survivor for 4+ years). I play killer how I would like to play against other killers. I find it interesting that the main proponents of tunneling are "killer mains." I have been tunneled out in less than 3 minutes and find that type of gameplay unfun as a survivor - so would never do it to someone else. So yes - it is part of game play - that doesn't mean it is viewed as fair by the majority of players or remotely fun for the one being tunneled.

But hey - if tunneling is what it takes to make you feel good about yourself and your game - go ahead and do it.

  • I haven't had this happen once since the patch and I have played around 30 survivor matches - so prolly a lag issue.

  • @ThanosPAWG said:

The only thing that is trash is your spelling and punctuation. I don't think you typed a single sentence right. Please retake english class because you clearly need it.

Well - English is not their native language - so maybe lay off the snarky comments. You may want to take English class again as you did not bother to capitalize "English." If you're going to belittle someone who is bilingual - you may want a firmer grasp on your native language. The word "English" is a proper noun - something most students learn about in 1st or 2nd grade; and is always capitalized.

  • Make Your Choice on Hag?? Uhhhhhh ok.

Make Your Choice will not proc if you are within 32 meters of an unhook. Not sure how you play Hag, but I teleport the second a trap is set off near a hook which usually results at a minimum a hit to the rescuer or a grab. If it's a grab I take them to the next hook - and go back and re-trap the hook. Seems like a wasted perk choice to me - especially on Hag.

Even if it kills your team? Other survivors who may have helped you during the match with heals, or taking aggro or gens or whatever? Interesting.

You know what else kills a team? Blood Warden.

Wanna know what else kills a team? Having to rush trying to get a newly hooked teammate and get to the gates as quickly as possible because the end game timer is running out. Or do you just leave people on hooks because...the timer is running low?

He's just dropped in my lobby as bill with the gamepass lvl 70 bill outfit. Are the devs doing nothing. He probably had 2k viewers watching the cheater live followed by over 10k viewers on the youtube video. Why are the devs not ip banning this scrub or are they to busy designing cosmetics to care. Really shocking tbh

If you played against him you should have reported him (if he cheated and you recorded the cheating) instead of coming on here and trying to shame both him and BHVR. If you didn't report him (if he cheated) then that's on you. The shocking part is that you think coming on here and posting this will result in anything. If you are unaware of how to report - simply ask. There are listed ways on how to deal with cheaters - and posting in General Discussion is not one of them.

  • Did you post this in the Bug section so they could look to see what the issue is? Or are you just here to complain about something that could easily be a YOU problem and not with the game?

Maybe instead of threatening to leave you could approach this in a more mature and appropriate way that would identify the source of the issue.

Xbox could easily do it, BHVR can put Hag and Doctor free on pc, they added a lot of free killers on switch version

It's not an easy snap your fingers thing. There are legal issues, financial issues, etc etc etc. Just because you want it - does not mean it is easily accomplished. BHVR has stated repeatedly this is something they are working towards, but that it will take time.

I don't play sweaty and I don't play with sweaty people - if we know that the killer is struggling we take it easy on them because - believe it or not - I play to have fun and for others to have fun.

"NOTHING in my post was about what SWFs do...." - Maybe, but you started your post with "Or they were 4 randoms".

This implies that either op or any comment made the assumption that the game op was talking about was versing a swf, which noone did and you brought into the discussion.

So, from my limited comprehension (according to you), you were the first and only one starting to make this another solo vs swf discussion, which is the same type of annoyance like whataboutism in threads about killer or survivor only side mechanics which often end in a us vs them argument.

And back to the point at hand, the fact that the other 3 survivor let the fourth go far into second phase can either mean coordination from an swf to leave them or the assumption of all separate survivor, that another one might go for the save (which normally ends with multiple survivor go to check). Therefore, in my eyes this argument is no real indication on the make up of the survivor team.

Well maybe don't assume. Maybe instead of assuming one's intent - and posting a wannabe shady comment - you simply ask one's intent.

So since you keep talking about something I never even addressed - let me address it.

I have absolutely no issues with SWFs as a killer. I am a 50/50 player and rarely SWF when I play survivor. When I do SWF it's usually just me and 1 person. I don't think the majority of SWFs are nigh unbeatable like certain "mains" like to constantly post. I don't use hyperbole in my posts - I stick to the facts and my experience. So maybe next time when you have an assumption you will approach it in a more logical and mature way than to assume ill intent.

  • When I first started playing killer back in 2017 - I found I would get so invested in the chase that I would chase way too long. So for about 2-3 months I set up a mouse macro that would start a timer on my 2nd screen for 30 seconds - as soon as it went off I would abandon chase. It helped me a lot - in learning when to abandon chases

Great job completely Missing the point. Noone, really noone, neither op nor comment mentioned swf in any form before your comment.

The issue is the speed of gens and the definition of tactics o the survivors doing them.

Great job on missing the point COMPLETELY. If it was 4 randoms... I can see why the person went into second phase. Instead of everyone running off gens - people tend to finish their gens and see if someone else goes for the unhook. THAT was my point - and what I said. The only mention of SWF in my post was to state that I rarely SWF and that as a MAINLY SOLO survivor - I was explaining my thought process.

Sorry even the MENTION of the word SWF triggers you so much. NOTHING in my post was about what SWFs do - it was about SOLO survivors. I'm sorry you failed to comprehend what I thought was a very simple use of the English language.

The first one I am willing to concede that they were a good twins player and did well working past that 5 second stun. The second match though I feel is more Devour hope doing work than Victor at that point.

Uhhh it's a perk - it's a high risk perk. I blame my lazy teammates for not doing any totems. I did three dull totems - and found Devour Hope as soon as I could when it became apparent.

All killers use the tools (perks) available to them to win. Had they not had Devour Hope they would have still got a 2k definitely - and probably a 3k... and possibly a 4k unless I would have been lucky and found the hatch.

I know you are trying to paint the Twins as mainly limited to slugging/camping due to being "underpowered", but that just isn't my experience. The most sluggy/camping killers at red ranks that I run into are Wraith and Bubbas....and that is few and far between.

  • @Lliart said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2163371#Comment_2163371

Well was it due to camping and/or slugging with Victor? 'Cause that's the behavior that I personally want to veer away from. The point of this funeral is to point out that that style of play isn't fun for either side, not to lament any power loss. (Albeit tanking a 5 second stun upon a down and not being able to switch back to Charlotte upon Victor landing on a healthy survivor immediately is kind of a power loss.)

I mean if you enjoy being camped and/or slugged that's you, you do you. I personally don't fully like playing that way.

Nope there wasn't any camping or slugging that I saw. I did 4 rescues, but was lucky enough to only be hooked once. I rarely go against slugging or camping killers - and if I do they are usually the occasional purple rank that ends up with red rank survivors. In my experience not that many red rank killers tunnel - and even less camp.

Had another match against Twins about an hour ago - they 4k'd us at 1 gen left. Unfortunately we did not get to Devour Hope in time which resulted in 2 people dying - 1 via Devour Hope Mori before we found the totem. Again - no slugging or camping. They did "slug" one survivor but that was because they waited 20 seconds or so to pick them up because I think they were afraid of DS. This was a rank 2 Twins with just under 1k hours in game.

While my experience since the change is only two matches - seemed just like any other match with Twins I have had before.

Just had this game as trapper, I had a meg on hook and the other three survivors chose to do gens over getting Meg (was not camping at all btw). In my opinion that is what gen rush is.

Does this seem fair to you? What do you believe gen rush means?

Or they were 4 randoms - and the three safe ones just assumed one of the others would grab the hooked person and stayed on their respective gens. When I play survivor I rarely SWF - and if I am even 25% on a gen when someone gets hooked - I stay on my gen.

  • Just went against a rank 1 twins - they had no issue getting a 3k.
