You know, I thought the same thing about We're Gonna Live Forever when it popped up in the PTB with +100% heal rate on Survivors in the dying state. Like no way Behavior's gonna let that go through, healing is such a big deal in this game. But guess what? It did go through. I wonder how many of you dismissing it as a PTB thing will admit you were wrong or take the Killer's side and say it's overpowered after it goes through.

When I read the patch notes the boon totems and buffing Built to Last to broken just overshadowed anything positive they did for Killer.

Nah build to last isn't broken, it's just incredibly time consuming.

  • Ok i can understand being upset about the deathslinger changes (even tho i think he's still b tier) but the spirit nerf hardly changed anything, you can't do a stand still mind game, and that's it.

  • X:My teammate in solo q are now a lot better

    My teammate in solo q:

  • @SeannyD115 said:

I can see med kits being used more with built to last. Imagine a purple med kit with add-ons and built to last

I mean, that amount of heal its pretty damn useless since you'll heal like 2-3 times a match, so you don't need built to last the only exception it's legion... And healing against legion its the biggest waste of time you could do in the entire game.

  • @anarchy753 said:

The arguments people put forth as to why it's NOT strong are so bad it's like you're just trying to make excuses for it being broken.

No, it probably won't be great value to use up your toolbox, leave the gen for a locker, come back with your toolbox and repeat.

However, when the killer comes to check the gen you can use a locker to hide and as a bonus get your whole toolbox back. If you're running Inner Strength you can also restore your toolbox while you heal.

And gen progress isn't always about exactly how much time the toolbox saves. More importantly there's situations like 3 gens where it's crucial to get a lot of progress in a short burst, where suddenly having a whole extra commodious toolbox is a major advantage, especially if more than one person does it.

Well- getting in a locker while injured its a death sentence, hell it's stupid even when you're not injured.

However, unlike a Hex Totem, the Killer can also quickly interact with the created Boon Totem to completely remove the associated blessing, once again turning it into a dull totem, they will also be able to hear the Boon Totem when in its range.

Yes we do... they state the killer can turn a blessed totem into a dull totem... A boon perk needs a dull totem... So a survivor can bless a totem, killer can stomp it out, survivor can re-bless totem.

I understand that part, but what I'm really thinking about it's: "will the blessing ability be deactivated when that happens?" that's my main concern, like will it be like hex totems (but the totem simply become a dull totem) or something else, that's what I'm actually conceding, but nonetheless this was a little interesting chat, we have different opinion, and we'll see tomorrow, have a good day mate, see you in the fog.

A killer can't destroy the totem (which is my problem). They just remove the bless meaning the survivor can just go back to the totem and rebless it.

Yeah and old undying was broken AF and needed to be changed. I hate this just as much as I hated old undying.

Each Survivor can only have one Boon Totem active at a time. This Boon Totem will combine the effects of all of their equipped Boon perks.

Means if a survivor is running 2 boon perks they only need to bless one totem to recieve both perks effects.

That's true, but we don't know if "cleansing" a boon totem will permanently remove the blessing, and yes old undying was stupid, i agree with that (i don't understand how some people can defend that perk) I'm as concerned as you're, but I'll prefer to wait for the ptb instead of having 600 theories on how they interact will exactly work, but you do you, i just hope they'll be fun to use and not to bad to go against, which from what i saw its your hope too.

I don't care what is meta or not. I care about fun. If a boon totem is as strong as something like devour or ruin... Could you imagine playing against a killer who just can bring back devour each time? Or oh guess you cleansed my ruin, whelp its back now...

Your description perfectly fit with old undying, that's probably just me tho. And honestly it depends on how the killer can interact with the boon totem, can the killer just destroy one totem and don't have to worry about that anymore? Or the survivor can just stack it four times? (which it's impossible in some scenario) we're just speculating on some words at the end of the day, we really need to wait for the ptb to go live.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523660#Comment_2523660

But didn't the update also say they will have cumulative effects? It sounds like they mean if they bring 4 of the same boon the affect will stack. The affect could be so small it won't even be noticed but it still gives me cause to worry. It's not the first time they broke their own game and it won't be the last.

From what i understood, it's that, when a boon totem get blessed that totem have all the boon totem (that the survivor equipped) on that totem, and then we get into speculation territory, maybe when they get cleansed it's a bye bye all boon totem, or just the boon totem that one survivor used, or something else, we still can't be sure.

  • @mouse0270 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523822#Comment_2523822

A single survivor can't have multiple active at the same time, but 4 different survivors can have the same boon active 4 times and it stacks.

Each Survivor can only have one Boon Totem active at a time. This Boon Totem will combine the effects of all of their equipped Boon perks.

Which makes me guess that the boon only effects the survivor... but still unsure.

We'll need to wait for the ptb, plus i would be okay if they become meta, at least i would see different perk being used.

I posted both quotes look at the original post🙄.

Once again this is a discussion about boon totems...quit posting here if you dont want to talk about the topic.

My posts have emojis if you dont want to read them. And people can have opinions on topics about something they used to play. I have never met you and my opinion is you are bullying my posts 🙁.

Whether I come back after this patch isnt relevant to the conversation🤔

So if you want to talk about the topic welcome if not please dont post because I am going to ignore you. Be blessed I know there is good in you😇

Even if i wanted to discuss with you, about what, about the nothing, you didn't said anything beside a stupid random sentence, like i said before, if your post was: "boon totem will be a problem because this and that" i would've discussed with you, but there's nothing to discuss about, nothing the only thing i could say it's "wait for the ptb to go online" which it's the most obvious things i could tell to someone.

Plus I'm not bullying you, if you think that's bullying, then I'm happy that you never got truly bullied in your whole life, I'm giving you an advice, stop being obsessed with a ######### videogame, i know that many people that make a living out of this game, aren't as obsessed as you, which it's concerning to say the least.

  • You can't have 4 of them all active at once, well yes but actually no, from what i understood, when a boon totem its active, another boon totem can't be active and that boon totem get the benefit of every boon totem. That's what i understood tho

  • I mean, do bones?

Every post you have made has been to be negative and to bully me🙁

So boon totems...anything relevant to the discussion or are you just trolling?

Bullying you? Are you dense? I'm just concern because i doubt anyone would look at your recent post and saying "yeah this person it's bringing a good point, or a point in general" like I'm not even trolling you I'm seriously concern, you're so obsessed with this game, it's almost unhealthy honestly. I hope you're the one trolling and you're just very dedicated

I played both sides thank you very much😇. Nothing I say has been a lie...maybe you are angry I bring up good points?

I love how I made easier ways to recognize my posts(by using emojis) and instead of discussing the topic you click on the post anyway to bully🙁. I guess if I makes you feel better...I dont force you to click on my posts.

Now please stay on topic and let's talk about boon totems or go take out your misplaced anger on something else. Be blessed😇

You're bringing good points? Sorry but the last time i checked bringing good point was: "this things it's problematic for this reason and that reason" you just said a once sentence statement. That's it, you haven't brought any good points, or any points at all. I just don't understand, plus i didn't told you you're a killer main or anything, you play both sides? OK I guess, and still you said multiple times that you're not playing this game anymore, and still you're acting like you play 6 hours a day.

The problem I find with boon totems, besides giving killer more crap to do when they are already pressed for time, is how strong they can be in mass. The devs clearly don't think all 4 survivors will bring the same OP perks each match. If a boon perk is even remotely strong than 4 of them will be unfair.

It's gonna be just one with all of the effect of the other boom totem, it means that there can be only one boon totem on the map.

  • @ad19970 said:

Your obsession with this game and constant posts shitting on it is starting to get pretty worriesome. Are you okay?

  • @kaoraku said:

I think as a killer main, who really hate keys and tunneled everyone who bring a key to the lobby this is a bad "solution". Especially with the hatch part. Now hatchgame at the end will be pure luck. So the killer no matter how good can loose the 4th survivor. And trust me, this will just make killers to slug and sweat at the end. It will be not funny for the survivors.

If someone really want a 4k he will slug for the 4k anyway- it doesn't change anything

The perk is good and it doesn't need to be op to be used the perk gives info you usually don't have... Mostly it works always for me and I know where any pallet is with blindfold on but I still use perk sometimes

OK? And? Again the perk it's not op, it not gonna be meta. And it's stupid to say "this perk it's op" before the perk it's live, i just don't get it.

  • @justbecause said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2523212#Comment_2523212

It's not about knowing where are pallets and windons it's about knowledge of safe and wasted loops So you can be sure that ur safe to where you're running killer to

Ok and even then, it's still not a problem, in an area without no pallet window doesn't do anything (it tells you that in the other part of the map there's a pallet, wow) you will still get hit, surely in map with a lot of wall or inside maps, then it's gonna be quite impactfull... In the other maps you can see where the pallet is. So it's still not gonna be an op perk, not even a good one honestly, it's gonna be okay, which it's good since it's a perk for newer player.

  • I mean- i don't see why it too much, a good survivor know where windows and pallet are anyway, plus having this amount of yellow aura will give me an headache

In response to your question I didnt say they weren't broken anywhere🤔.

As for the negativity...Two times you ask me the same thing? I already answered you in the other post.

I just recommended chronotrigger and final fantasy 6 to a friend who wanted to start playing rpgs...haven't played them in years but they are awesome games.

If you dont talk about things you no longer play I feel bad for you. Those games must not have impacted you in any positive way😯 .Be blessed😇

I asked you two times the same things because, it doesn't make sense to me and no, if i don't play a game, that I've no interest in playing in the future (which isn't the case for the example you made) I'll have no interest whatsoever for what happen to the game, and even if i still had i certainly wouldn't just waste my time writing 6 post in a forum everyday.

  • It's me or you're posting way too much? For someone that's not playing the game anymore, you care a bit too much honestly.

It is extremely unfortunate that you missed him. The experience that he provided was extremely fun for both sides. Unmatched to this day.

Hopefully, you will have a chance eventually. As unlikely as it is.

Old Freddy was just an m1 killer tho- i played old Freddy and i don't find the fun in him, yes when you're putting the survivor in the dream world there's that cool technique i know, but after that? You're an m1 killer, you're a clown with no bottle, a pig with no dash, sure if you like to play as and against m1 killer, then i guess he's fun? But that's it, i really don't see the appeal

  • Well almost all the add on you listed are stupid. You can't tell me alchemist ring it's a fair add on, or that tempered timer it's a stupid rng based add on, and so on and so forth, plus they said they will buff unused add on. Also didn't you said you don't play this game anymore? Why you still post stuff in the forum?

  • Because the meta works this way? Even in card games there're like 6 competitive archetype, even in hero shooter there're just an handfull of meta characters, that's how the meta works.

this addon is the weaker ultra-rare compared to the one that hides the box

still m1 killer with almost useless power for the last healt state and it activates survivors ability to use dead hard

starting chain hunt has much more impact than getting an injure on 1 survivor

It's better to use hoarder for the chainhunt like the box pink add on its good, but i think hoarder it's better

  • I would actually love to play plague but 90% of the time i hit a survivor with my vomit, they cough but don't get infected at all- so it's frustrating

It wasn’t pointless before. I could break the pallet and with even yellow speed and duration add-ons I had plenty of time to track and catch up before. Now they can make distance, stop running so scratch marks end and disappear. Not to mention that survivors can sometimes “teleport” when you come out of phase. Yet another bug.

Other perks that work well versus Spirit? Nancy’s faster walking perk, urban, lucky break, off the record… comboed with Iron Will is the cherry on top.

Urban isn't good on spirit, the Nancy perk it's a whatever, spirit can't see blood while phasing and scratch mark are unreliable so lucky break doesn't affect spirit too much, off the record its a terrible perk, never run it, just run iron will which is 10 times better.

For the first thing, that's assuming a survivor just hold w and doesn't reach anything which is a pretty strange assumption, plus you did that and wasted all your resource bar, if he was healthy he artificially wasted even more time by you chasing him like a normal killer for 20 second, that add up in the course of a game, just go and bother someone else, and catch him when he doesn't have a God pallet and force him to guess. That's how you play spirit, just now you have to guess too, which it's fair imo.

How come I can verse a squad on Badham and I lose, I get lower MMR, but as the same killer, perks, squad on coal tower I can win and go up MMR?

If the system isn't taking into account absolutely god awful map design it's wrong from the get go. Same with weak killer powers like clown and trickster. If a trickster can get 4 hooks against a decent team on badham that shouldn't decrease his mmr because 4 hooks against a good squad on trashham is a good result.

Or split the queues? casual queue and competitive queue.

No MMR can count what you said, and a ranked game mode for me it's a bad idea, honestly

  • @Rey_512 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2468300#Comment_2468300

Not necessarily. At safe pallets like Killer Shack, lots of survivors will just make distance because they will (correctly) assume you’re going to break it immediately.

Iron Will and Spine Chill are just 2 of a few perks that work well versus Spirit. What does Spirit have now? Predator (laughable)? Looking to see where the grass is moving? Oh wait, there’s a few indoor maps now, and some maps have plenty of patches where there’s zero grass.

Then don't chase them, it was pointless even before to chase a survivor that dropped a God pallet, that seems to me just really bad play on your part.

What are the perk that work well against spirit? Other than iron will and spine chill (i debunked the spine chill argument but whatever) light weight? The worst perk in the game.

And you know what have spirit? Ruin undying Tinkerer. That's a lot stronger than the other perk listed before, and give you enough slowdown if you're decent at the game. Again spirit it's still strong, maybe frustrating to play as, if you say that, i agree but she's not weaker.

Friendly reminder that you can get shack window into a long wall window right next to it lined up on father cambells

would be nice if the tile was moved away from it a bit or they couldn't both have windows that face each other

I know it's a bit random but, i love your clown build.

  • I don't understand, like the blight iridescent are both great, but the one who one shot requires a bit of skill, you can't just use it everytime, you will simply loose the game if you try to do so.

  • @Rey_512 said:

@WexlerWendigo ”God forbid a killer doesn’t give a free 4k anymore, the horror!”

Um, who said I wanted a free 4K? I just want the power to work like it used to.

@Progamer888 ”Just use her power in short burst”

Sometimes they stun or drop a pallet that I’m forced to break and gain distance. Again, a player shouldn’t be forced to limit their playstyle because of this bug.

@ad19970 ”Survivors don't have anything more to work with when going against Spirit either.”

Survivors have Iron Will, which negates 1/2 of her tracking ability. Actually, with the sound bug, it removes 3/4 of Spirit’s tracking ability while phasing. Also, Spine Chill (relatively common) counters the stand still “mindgame”.

And you ignored everything else i said. If you get stunned as spirit, and it's a safe pallet, they will stay there, if they just run, use your power, for two second and you will be right on their back, or close to them, if they drop a pallet, just stand still, and look at what they do, and then simply use your power. Plus spine chill isn't a good counter to spirit, you can stand still and don't look at them or look at them with just the corner of your screen and spine chill will not work. Spirit it's still very very strong, with or without the bug.

  • @unluckycombo said:

Nah, DS is fine now- as others have said, if anything I'd love to see it buffed. (Such as either taking away the self-healing caveat to give it more synergy with healing perks like Inner Strength or Secondwind, or giving it two charges/a little something extra after hitting DS to make it so that you have a better chance of breaking chase entirely.)

It works with inner strength and second wind already.

  • That will not help honestly, what soloq need it's a good matchmaking, try to go against four really good soloq survivor, with a mediocre killer, they will stomp you. And buffing soloq will not help with the common soloq problem, your boosted Teammates.

  • For spirit people are simply dramatic, just use her power in short burst and predict what the survivor will do, most survivor are predictable and will leave loops, if they don't do that, then stay still for a second to see what they do and then use her power.

  • I'm sorry to telling you this, but those weren't tournaments level survivor, and you probably aren't a tournament level killer, plus everybody would still use spirit and nurse, since their the strongest killer in the game, maybe even blight since he's our favorite pinball.

  • Just use her power in short burst, stay still as a mind game, and don't commit to chases that would make you use all your power bar. So nothing changed about spirit honestly, at least for me, maybe it's survivor that are too predictable, maybe not who knows.

This is my idea for a "nerf":

    Increase power recharge time base,

Give a visual queue for when she is phasing,

Increase recharge time if missing a hit,

Slow down base movement speed (I don't think she is a 110% movement speed killer rn, if she isn't then she should become that).

    But:

    Bring back collision,

    Increase speed boost,

Decrease power recharge time on a successful hit

    She's 110

Right? The last 8 killers have very similar powers. Aim, then execute some linear attack that has some nuanced feature that makes it easy to dodge. Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramid head, the twins, and the nemesis have powers that are almost identical.

If anything I think they need to address base movement speed killers. They don't need to make them faster, but they need to give all of them better tracking abilities. Like, the doctor is base movement speed and he's fairly strong because he can easily find people, so he doesn't need to be as fast. Whereas with Myers or Ghostface it's all up to the survivors messing up. Leatherface might be one exception because he downs people quickly. Trapper, Shape, Clown, Pig, Ghostface and Plague perform like garbage at higher ranks for the most part.

Twins is one of the most unique killer in the game what are you smoking

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

Tinkerer is probably the only killer perk in the game that I find problematic. It's sole use is helping killers with their gamesense and completely screwing over solo queue while doing literally nothing against good SWF players. Combined with Ruin it's pretty annoying but that's not ruins fault it's tinkerers fault.

I have no issue with the Ruin Undying meta, if anything as long as I have good teammates I love it. Tinkerer however isn't even good it's just annoying when combined with it.

Seeing a blight bail half of their chases to go to a tinkered gen being worked on by a clueless Meg makes unfun gameplay. Chances are they won't even win the match either because they think that tinkerer is a better perk to take than corrupt. Ya know, corrupt, the best stand alone killer perk in the game.

I don't really see the point in the perk when it's sole purpose is to stomp noobs and makes unfun gameplay.

If I were to rework it id make it activate on 70% still, remove the undetectable status effect and add a 7% haste bonus to the killer for 16 seconds. This makes it better on pretty much most killers, makes it more fun and now it actually has a use against good players by having a faster chase with haste.

(No I did not just get rolled by a blight, I made this after seeing a content creator pick tinkerer over corrupt on bloody trickster. Why)

Curropt isn't the best perk in every killer, Curropt blight it's redundant to say the least, same for Billy, nurse, spirit, wraith, on those killer Tinkerer makes a lot more sense, and it helps against swf too, in pair with discordance (even tho if you're using it on an high mobility killer, you will probably arrive there no matter what so yeah) plus it's really good with ruin, and decent with pop, but i don't think it's problematic.
