  • It's to whoever finds it first when it is open.

And I disagree with being able to hide it; this benefits SWFs on voice comms so hard. Also; if the Survivors see the Killer hide it; can they unhide it? Can they interact with it? The devs would have to put random debris on the maps, or any pile of hatch-hiding debris would be like a giant, neon sign sayin 'Hatch is here!'

but she can camp while pressuring gens, what part did you not understand about that from my previous messages

If she is pressuring gens, she is not camping.

I love how Survivors are now saying a Killer can camp AND do what Survivors want (pressuring gens) at the same time. It's almost like they call anything 'camping' in order to complain.

Eww i feel bad for you. :(

    Hope everything goes well!

    Thank you! :)

  • Eh. Had a tooth I got a root canal on last year explode while eating dinner a few days ago. Ironically; next month is the final payment on the root canal.

Now I have to wait for a week from Tuesday to get it capped, and more of it broke when I had a relapse of my night terrors, so I am eating very little, stressed out, and worried it could break more at any moment. ๐Ÿ˜‘

But otherwise, I am awesome! Guild Wars 2 has a beta for 3 new Elite Specializations next week, for the Elite Specializations that will be releasing with End Of Dragons next year. 1 for each class, but only 3 are in next weeks beta.

    And Humankind releases Tuesday! ๐Ÿ˜

  • If they added Scary Movie Survivors. ๐Ÿ˜‹

  • Yeah, it would be nice to have equippable mori animations, so they are actually something to look forward to seeing if the Killer moris you.

Demo has Shred, is 115%, the Teleports are non-instantaneous with a global cue, do not have tracking, and would take a significantly longer duration to cleanse as well.

Hag would still need to manage Trap placement in chase as her Traps are both her primary chasing tool and would be her primary mobility. She'd be able to teleport nearly instantaneously to any placed trap, and if triggered by Survivors would still have a meaty M1 lined up, because of this, yes, she'd have her Traps able to be cleansed. If anything she'd be more similar to a Nurse/Trapper hybrid, not Demo.

Hag is fine. Her power does not need a rework just because you don't like it.

With your suggestion, both Demo and Hag would have at-will teleporting to traps, and free destruction of said traps without items.

But Hag would have no way of knowing her trap is being cleansed until AFTER the fact, unlike Demo. She would also have to place TWO traps in every area to cover one being cleansed because she gets no warning. And what if Survivors look around and find both traps because they know hoe her power works? That's two traps wasted with no way to stop Survivors because she gets no warning during the cleanse.

No. Hag is fine. You claim she's a Nurse/Trapper but you're wrong. Your idea makes her Demogorgon Jr simply because you don't like how she plays.

If people are DCing out of your matches in droves maybe it is you. I have never had an issue with people DCing on me, either as a survivor or a killer. I play both, and have played this game for over 3 years, so way before the DC penalty was introduced. At no point was DCing an issue, up to and including just a week or two ago when it was off for the mmr test. I assume all the people in this forum singing the praises of the DC penalty system are playing toxic and then get all mad and whiny when people do not want to put up with it. Because in 2.5k hours I have seriously never had a single issue with rampant DCers.

And there's the victim blaming. Grats on being a horrible person.

I've played this game since launch and pre DC penalty it was an issue, and every time they turn it off it is an issue.

Salty players DC when they are found first or start to lose as Killer or Survivor. So stuff your 'MaYbE iT's YoU!' victim blaming bullshit. The people who say this are the type who DC for literally ANY reason, then think up an excuse to blame their opponent.

You even THINKING that bullshit shows we need the penalty.

Huh, basically, 'cept she'd need to place down multiple Traps near a location if she wasn't planning on just using them for information purposes from the Alert she gets when a Trap would be cleansed. Place one near an Objective (such as Hook) that needs to be cleansed, and one nearby, if either gets cleansed TP to the other one (you get Alerted when a Trap is cleansed), if both get cleansed, well you know where 3 Survivors are.

Though thinking more about it could very probably just remove the "in chase" restriction of the Traps if they were a bit more noticeable, such that it demands Survivors to crouch to them, and retains the jump-scare when placed around corners/Vaults.

    So end result is:

Phantasm Traps can now be cleansed (Alerting The Hag) and are more visible, but The Hag can now teleport to them at-will. If you want to keep flashlight mechanics: Burning Phantasm traps does not Alert The Hag.

This turns her into Demogorgon. You're literally changing her power into Demo just because you want free cleansing.

  • @alaenyia said:

I think as long as this glitchy game continues to give people playing the boot stick there should not be a DC penalty. They have no way of differentiating between a legitimate DC and a game crash so tons of innocent people are punished for doing nothing more than trying to play a game they paid for and enjoy.

It is impossible to make anything that knows the difference between a game crash and an internet-hiccup. And less people have crashed games than people who DC out of rage, so the DC penalty is needed.

We already saw what happens, multiple times, when there's no DC penalty so no; it does not need to be turned off again.

Why not design the Killer's Power in such a way as to not be disproportionality impacted by the Items a Survivor may bring into the Trial?

Bake it in, and you can do more interesting things, such as the destruction of a Trap like this Alerting The Hag, Addons which negatively impact Survivors that Cleanse these traps in this manner. Could shuffle it up a bit and do the following: Survivors do not trigger Traps while out of Chase and The Hag can teleport to her Traps even when they haven't been triggered. (Though visibility of traps at this point would be a bugger).

And the point being is that it isn't turn off at-will, you need to crouch up to it, Cleanse it, and then do whatever. Only this time The Hag doesn't have a free TP directly back to the Hook or the Survivors suffering a significant hinder while the Killer is coming back to Hook. (If they come back to hook at all, which if they didn't the Survivors still spent that time looking for and clearing those Traps)

So you'd basically turn Hag traps into Demogorgon portals, except since it's not triggered and the Hag does not get Killer Instinct; Survivors get a free cleanse the Hag has no idea is happening, no way to teleport too, and thus no way to stop?

Again; no. Hag is fine. There's no need to nerf her power by adding a free cleanse. Crouch over the traps once you know you're fighting a hag, or bring a flashlight. They have all kinds of uses, amongst which is deleting Hag traps.

Survivors don't need a free, item-less cleanse ability for Hag traps. This is a flat-out nerf. No.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

At some point I do hope they allow the capability to "wipe-away" Hags traps by crouching over them with a tight area for a prompt during which the Survivor performs a non-position-locked animation which should encompass enough of the area to more often than not appear to hit the Sigil, needing at least 2s to perform.

No. You can bring a flashlight to 'wipe away' the trap. And you can avoid the trap by crouching; don't even need an item.

Not every power needs some Survivor-controlled aspect they can use to turn it off at-will without bringing items or perks.

  • Honestly, just make DCers die to the Endgame Collapse animation when they DC, complete with the 'late sacrifice' points or whatever it gives.

This buys the Killer time, and it's not unfair for Survivors unless you specifically point to someone waiting for a hatch. In that case; it SHOULD be unfair for them. Which it would be.

I believe someone said this already, and it is the best way to fix the problem. People not waiting for hatch are not affected, people waiting for hatch are screwed, and the Killer gets his EGC points.

Come on dude.. all cheaters using the same type of cheat, when they fly, insta heal bla bla.. don't you think? EAC is just garbo and that's it.

You have 0 idea what you are talking about. It's not the 'same type of cheat'. Every cheating program gets into the game differently. Then, when the devs figure out HOW it worked, they block what it did. And then the cheat makers find a new way to make it work.

Saying 'Every cheat is the same because they all let you fly' is like saying 'Every animal is the same because they're all made out of meat'. Or 'A desert is the same as a rainforest because they're both on Earth'. You're over-generalizing too much and missing the details.

  • @TheDarkTyrant said:

DC penalties shouldn't excuse st for the simple reason of... Well they bought the game and should be able to leave a match when they feel like it.

No, you're wrong. Guess what? EVERYONE bought the game and they deserve to have complete matches where salty teammates don't wuss out.

'I bought the game, so I can do what I want' is the most narrow, selfish, self-serving excuse to DC out of all of them.

  • Cheats have to be found and reported before they can be added to easy anti-cheat's database. Do you think an anti-cheat just magically knows when a new cheat is made & how to detect it?

Cheaters will always find ways to cheat. It's a never-ending cycle of make cheat, people use cheat, cheat gets banned, make new cheat, etc.

  • @Nos37 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2429738#Comment_2429738

No. What's bullshit is knowing that the penalty removes a strike every 24 hours, but because your disconnect was short of 24 hours by a few minutes or seconds, you retain your old strike plus get the penalty for the new strike!

    ----

Having the disconnect penalty being shown better reflects your "allowance" anyway, so why are you so against it?

I'm against it, because habitual DCers will use knowing their penalty to abuse DCing with minimal consequence. They can look at their penalty and know when it's 'safe' to DC with 5 minutes again.

  • I get accused of camping even if I don't place my traps next to the hook.

Once had a match where I placed them in glaringly obvious chokepoints, and the Survivors refused to learn or crouch-walk. I killed them one at a time and, when I downed the last Survivor, he DC'd almost before he hit the ground. He was READY to DC.

End game chat? 'Campers don't deserve the 4K!' ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Hag is fine. Survivors need to stop asking for nerfs/changes just because they're too lazy to learn how to counter a Killer's power.

No in your opinion those were funny. Just like in your opinion Scary Movie wasn't funny. Everyone else in this section disagrees with you.

Also every movie was a parody of mainstream movies that came out around the time in horror and sci-fi and it wasn't all sex or weed jokes.

Like small jokes to physical humor to references, etc. Like the small one about Samara " Doing really sick stuff, like hiding the remote. " , the celebrity cameos. The radio cussing Cindy out, the small handed butler, the pop culture references ( Monica Lewinski ) , Cindy's fight with the cat over using its litterbox. The Charlie's Angels montage. The fight with the Amish girls. Brenda inexplainably coming back without an explanation.

Cindy accidentally using the bed pan to sponge bathe the old lady. Brenda fighting the Jigsaw puppets and delivering a jigsaw baby at the end. The little boy constantly being hit by a car or something bad happening. Cindy sharing moments that are supposed to be heart-warming but are just laughably sad to that boy. Like " Your mother was so happy when she had you and wanted to celebrate and she said " I've never tried Crystal meth and so she did just a little. "

Just overall Cindy being a breathless dits who never has any idea what she is doing or talking about and Brenda being selfish and obnoxious. It might not be funny to you but they're MEMES after ALL these years for a R E A S O N. You just don't have to like them But they are iconic. :P

'Cindy accidentally using the bed pan to sponge bathe the old lady.'

" Your mother was so happy when she had you and wanted to celebrate and she said " I've never tried Crystal meth and so she did just a little. "

Oh look; the low-brow humor I mentioned. Drug and body fluid jokes that aren't funny.

As I said; it is indeed my opinion. The movies are trash, the characters are 2D and not funny, and the jokes are either banking on shock value or 'lol, weed/drugs/sex is FUNNY!'. There is no writing talent on display in any of the Scary Movies.

I'd stop playing to avoid those characters. I hate them that much. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

You can say it's not funny or well written all you want, but it's personal opinion. All I'm gonna say is if a majority of people didn't like the franchise, they would not have made 5 movies :) Also I hear a 6th is coming at some point

Crappy movies get sequels all the time. Sequels did not mean a majority of people liked them.

And you are correct; it is my personal opinion that the ######### Movies franchise has no place in DBD, and the movies were never funny to begin with. The writing was trash, and the jokes were uninspired lowbrow humor meant to appeal to teenagers. It is the only series that would make me stop playing, as I would never want to look at or hear those characters in any of my matches.

  • @calem said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2430528#Comment_2430528

They are purposely dumb because the Scary Movie franchise is literally all about satire and making fun of horror movie clichรฉs and stereotypes. I love them BECAUSE they're dumb and stupid.

The thing is; satire can be funny and well written. Scary Movie is neither. The writers were lazy as hell because they thought it being a parody meant they did not have to actually make a real script.

  • @KweenPlease said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2430528#Comment_2430528

Again, look at Ash. Have you ever seen what Ash is from? mmkay. Exactly.

and no that isn't the only humor in there at all.

The difference being that Evil Dead & Army Of Darkness are actually funny, and Scary movie is a series of bad movies with bad jokes made by bad writers.

And 90% of the jokes in ######### Movie were either about weed, or sex. They were a series of weak story beats to a bad plot, which was a foil for weed jokes and 'lol, sex' jokes.

I never thought I'd say 'I'd uninstall if <x> was added' because to each their own, but I totally would if it was ######### Movie. I would not be able to stand having any of these 'characters' (They barely have personality) in my matches.

  • Please no. These movies are the dumbest garbage out there. Nothing but 'lol, weed' and 'lol, sex' jokes. They are not funny in the slightest and have no place in DBD.

  • I like the penalty because there's crybaby players on both sides that DC the second the match stop going their way.

Then, they come onto the forums with 'Well, I should not have to stay in a match if I'm not having fun!' Yeah, well, what about the 4 other players?

Or, my favorite 'A DC penalty will kill the game!' When they full well know LACK of a DC penalty will kill the game because why would people buy a game where no match ever plays to completion because the losing side always DCs penalty-free?

Basically, anyone who wants there to be no DC penalty are selfish and don't care about anyone's fun except their own. Yet I bet the moment someone ELSE ruins their game by not thinking of THEM, they'd start whining.

  • For me: 2 is the baseline. I failed slightly at 1, and failed completely at 0.

But that also means I challenge myself to get more; 3 means I did better than average, and 4 means I won completely.

Iโ€™m sure you know damn well giving hatch and giving a killer are completely different. A 3 or 4k are essentially the same, the killer isnโ€™t giving up much at all to let the last survivor go if they played well.

If a survivor lets the killer kill them, they lose 5k survival points and automatically get silver survival which makes it hard to pip at red ranks.

Ah yes; the Killer is supposed to give the hatch because Survivors expect it. But Killers expecting a kill is 'different'. Just more 'Do as I say and not as I do' from Survivor mains.

    Double standards, everyone!

  • Wriggle is never supposed to succeed unless your teammates help you. If wriggle could score an escape regularly, with 4 Survivors, plus wriggle-based perks; Killers would NEVER get hooks. 1 Bodyblock, 1 Killer hit; Survivor wriggles free.

No. Wriggling is fine. It's not an escape option without help. It's only meant to keep the Killer from carrying a Survivor while he hunts for Survivors, and stop him from carrying you to the basement every time.

im fine with reverting everything honestly. Playing against him is just the worse atm with the buff and I see so many people dc against him bc of this

People DCing against a killer is 0 reason to nerf or change them. The type of people who DC will DC for literally any reason, then blame their opponent.

Map? Not their fault they DC; the map is 'unfair.'

Killer? Not their fault they DC; the Killer is 'Broken' or 'Unfun'.

Perks? Again; not their fault. That perk is 'crutch' or 'OP' or 'Unfun'.

BHVR should never, EVER balance around DCers. They could make the most balanced Killer ever, and some people would still DC and claim the Killer is 'OP'.

The whole point of the post was to tell people to stop saying "The game tells me to kill the survivors as fast as possible" Because it doesn't. Just because you haven't seen anyone say it doesn't mean no one has said it. I've seen it said a lot of times and its annoying because no where does it officially state let alone acknowledges camping and tunneling.

But sure, keep misunderstanding it and just say that its "ego stroking." You refuse to admit that you misunderstood it, but sure, I'll admit that I should've been more specific to not get people accusing me of saying camping and tunneling isn't ok. Because that's not what I said.

No, but Survivors cause the Killer to kill as fast as possible.

If I ever let off the gas, Survivors genrush, them twerk out the gates and BM in the endgame chat.

So while the GAME does not tell me to kill ASAP, the current meta has turned into 'which side is faster?'

And you started with 'But the lore says you have to torture, so you're WRONG!'. And then you trying so hard to defend your smart man 'gatcha' moment with 'But the LOOOORRRE!' So yeah; you should have been more specific.

No one is at fault for misunderstanding you trying so hard to just have 'gotten' the campers and tunnelers. That's basically what you tried to do, and now you're backpedaling and blaming everyone who called you out.
