Why can hag camp with her power?

Why can the hag camp with her power? If you look at a killer like the twins they have a restriction on their ability that prevents victor from being left idle within a certain proximity of the hook yet the hag is allowed to place her traps right next to a hook when a survivor is on the hook.

This makes no sense.

Hag should have a similar restriction to where she can't place traps within a certain distance to the hook.

Other killers have similar restrictions on their powers like pyramid head and so on.

If you even try to crouch walk up to the hook it still gets triggered when the person is off the hook.

  • I mean I'm totally with you. I hate the entire design of this killer. But just about every killer with a special attack has camping potential. Not just Bubba either. Billy, Huntress, Trickster. And even Pyramid Head as you mentioned can get a double hit with Punishment of the Damned.

So much camp, so little counter.

  • The Trap only gets triggered if the person who gets off the hook is walking/running.

The Hag is only good cause Survivors hate to crouch.

Even when crouching, Hag can just come back to the hook.

    It's just too slow.

The problem is the hag can just camp from 30 meters out and as soon as someone gets unhooked she can just go back to hook and she'll get a hit pretty much no matter what if the survivor didn't have a flashlight

  • @Milo @gilgamer

    1. Lure the Hag away.
    2. use that Nea perk that makes you crouch fast.
    3. Use flashlight to show Hag traps.
    4. Use Flashlight to destroy Hag traps.

So for me to have a chance against her, I just need to run this item and perk every single game and find some friends to play SWF with. (against a very rare killer mind you)

  • Hag is a decent killer because she can put traps everywhere. If you take that away you need to buff her in other ways. I think she is fine and have never understood all the "camping" complains from other survivors, it's a part of the game.

  • I get accused of camping even if I don't place my traps next to the hook.

Once had a match where I placed them in glaringly obvious chokepoints, and the Survivors refused to learn or crouch-walk. I killed them one at a time and, when I downed the last Survivor, he DC'd almost before he hit the ground. He was READY to DC.

End game chat? 'Campers don't deserve the 4K!' 🤦‍♂️

Hag is fine. Survivors need to stop asking for nerfs/changes just because they're too lazy to learn how to counter a Killer's power.

You can crouch on any Survivor.

  • Hag is too slow to chase, so yeah the stupid traps and snowballing is pretty much all she is able to do. If you chase on Hag, you already lost the match. If they ever make it so Hag cant camp, they need to make her 115%.

  • Of course you can, but that doesn't stop the Hag from just coming right back to the hook, even from very far away, since you're moving extremely slowly. If you try to run, you just trigger a trap for the Hag to instantly teleport to.

So 3 out of 4 counters are RNG.

I know Urban is a decent perk but still - should I include a perk (and or item) against one specific killer that is not played that often?

At some point I do hope they allow the capability to "wipe-away" Hags traps by crouching over them with a tight area for a prompt during which the Survivor performs a non-position-locked animation which should encompass enough of the area to more often than not appear to hit the Sigil, needing at least 2s to perform.

No. You can bring a flashlight to 'wipe away' the trap. And you can avoid the trap by crouching; don't even need an item.

Not every power needs some Survivor-controlled aspect they can use to turn it off at-will without bringing items or perks.

Why not design the Killer's Power in such a way as to not be disproportionality impacted by the Items a Survivor may bring into the Trial?

Bake it in, and you can do more interesting things, such as the destruction of a Trap like this Alerting The Hag, Addons which negatively impact Survivors that Cleanse these traps in this manner. Could shuffle it up a bit and do the following: Survivors do not trigger Traps while out of Chase and The Hag can teleport to her Traps even when they haven't been triggered. (Though visibility of traps at this point would be a bugger).

And the point being is that it isn't turn off at-will, you need to crouch up to it, Cleanse it, and then do whatever. Only this time The Hag doesn't have a free TP directly back to the Hook or the Survivors suffering a significant hinder while the Killer is coming back to Hook. (If they come back to hook at all, which if they didn't the Survivors still spent that time looking for and clearing those Traps)

So you'd basically turn Hag traps into Demogorgon portals, except since it's not triggered and the Hag does not get Killer Instinct; Survivors get a free cleanse the Hag has no idea is happening, no way to teleport too, and thus no way to stop?

Again; no. Hag is fine. There's no need to nerf her power by adding a free cleanse. Crouch over the traps once you know you're fighting a hag, or bring a flashlight. They have all kinds of uses, amongst which is deleting Hag traps.

Survivors don't need a free, item-less cleanse ability for Hag traps. This is a flat-out nerf. No.

Crouching and forcing her to walk back to the hook is a better waste of her time than running out of there and allowing her to teleport immediately. You have to punish the 110% movespeed by disrupting her trap web whenever possible. In most cases, Hag's place their traps in high traffic areas, so just changing your pathing can cause an enormous problem for the average Hag player.

Huh, basically, 'cept she'd need to place down multiple Traps near a location if she wasn't planning on just using them for information purposes from the Alert she gets when a Trap would be cleansed. Place one near an Objective (such as Hook) that needs to be cleansed, and one nearby, if either gets cleansed TP to the other one (you get Alerted when a Trap is cleansed), if both get cleansed, well you know where 3 Survivors are.

Though thinking more about it could very probably just remove the "in chase" restriction of the Traps if they were a bit more noticeable, such that it demands Survivors to crouch to them, and retains the jump-scare when placed around corners/Vaults.

    So end result is:

Phantasm Traps can now be cleansed (Alerting The Hag) and are more visible, but The Hag can now teleport to them at-will. If you want to keep flashlight mechanics: Burning Phantasm traps does not Alert The Hag.

This turns her into Demogorgon. You're literally changing her power into Demo just because you want free cleansing.

Well if you just ran UE every game you wouldn't be slow squatting like a dog. If you play solo you'd better run kindred. Get a lot of people camping you better bring a medkit with styptic and borrowed time. Now that we have an almost fair feeling game we have one perk to choose for a little variety.

We all play a broken game. You want variety get rekt! Play meta or be bored hiding or suffer!

Demo has Shred, is 115%, the Teleports are non-instantaneous with a global cue, do not have tracking, and would take a significantly longer duration to cleanse as well.

Hag would still need to manage Trap placement in chase as her Traps are both her primary chasing tool and would be her primary mobility. She'd be able to teleport nearly instantaneously to any placed trap, and if triggered by Survivors would still have a meaty M1 lined up, because of this, yes, she'd have her Traps able to be cleansed. If anything she'd be more similar to a Nurse/Trapper hybrid, not Demo.

Hag is fine. Her power does not need a rework just because you don't like it.

With your suggestion, both Demo and Hag would have at-will teleporting to traps, and free destruction of said traps without items.

But Hag would have no way of knowing her trap is being cleansed until AFTER the fact, unlike Demo. She would also have to place TWO traps in every area to cover one being cleansed because she gets no warning. And what if Survivors look around and find both traps because they know hoe her power works? That's two traps wasted with no way to stop Survivors because she gets no warning during the cleanse.

No. Hag is fine. You claim she's a Nurse/Trapper but you're wrong. Your idea makes her Demogorgon Jr simply because you don't like how she plays.

If she is pressuring gens, she is not camping.

I love how Survivors are now saying a Killer can camp AND do what Survivors want (pressuring gens) at the same time. It's almost like they call anything 'camping' in order to complain.

  • You can choose to not trigger her traps. You crouch, and yes if the person being unhooked is holding the crouch button before they hit the floor then they'll be fine.

If she's close enough to get back to the hook anyway, without teleporting, then she's not doing anything any other killer can't.

Simply having a trap near the hook isn't camping. It's having a trap near a hook. That's her power, that's all she does, she's a 110% M1 killer with a low FoV without it, and you can avoid it completely, by simply crouching.

Why don't you play Hag and try it, for a few games not just one. I guarantee once you get out of the potato survivor bracket you're going to have a harder time "camping" while also pressuring gens. Especially when you have SWF's who tell each other where the traps are and choose to set them all off every time you're preoccupied and unable to teleport.

well for one I don't play much survivor and how do you not understand how a killer can teleport can pressure multiple places at once. You can pressure the gens around basement its not that hard to understand, sure the survivors can do the gens not near basement but then they are likely to have to deal with a 3 gen, and she can camp more then just basement its just basement makes it a lot easier for her to do so.

It's a well known fact that hag is one of the best proxy campers in the game along with twins and her basement game is probably even more scary then twins. I don't think hag is broken by any means, she's very strong though, and its kind of dumb she can put traps so close to hook when camping and tunneling is easily the 2 most complained about problems survivors have.
