I can't have this in the game, I would spend too much time at the start of the game looking at my hooks to see what charms I got.
Part of the fun is making sure you don't do that c:

You said that once two people run Boons that the Killer is at a disadvantage. I disagree, every Boon-Perk is an advantage for the Killer, since it is a useless Perk instead of an actually good Perk.
Tell me all about CoH and Exponential combos c:
Or how Deja + Steadfast + toolkits. As much as I don't want to tell people they aren't allowed to have fun with their friends, there's definitely a synergy that 100% is worth discussing. -

Not really, since those two people could run actually good Perks instead.
You've missed the point, I think.
What do you mean when you say the could run "actually good perks?" What does that have to do with anything at all relevant to Boons vs Hexes? -
@Aven_Fallen said:
Boons are not strong enough to warrant such a Nerf. Plus, every Boon which is set up helps the KIller, since it is time wasted not on Gens.
The new Boon is really, really bad. If you are saying it is good or "not bad", you are straight up wrong. It only works in Areas where the Killer is patrolling, which means that they can snuff it quite easily.
Comparing Boons and Hexes is still nonsense. Only because both are shiny Totems does not make them compareable. Yes, Killers cannot relight their Hexes. But they are stronger than Boons, map-wide AND they dont need to set them up.
The only thing I agree on is that Boons should not work on multiple Floors. The concept of Boons is that they should be snuffed quickly and this might not happen if they are on a different Floor, but still applying to other Floors. If Boons are ever buffed, they should also nerf this aspect.
Boons are the killer's equivalent. It's still equally unfair, as a killer main, that survivors can not only relight boons, but 4 of them can bring any combination of boons. Including overlap. So individually boons are weaker, but the moment two people are running a boon at all the killer is at a disadvantage.

Just wanted to bump the thread to bring attention back to the concept of randomizing charms.

Bear in mind that this is only affecting the survivor lobby. The killer lobby is not nearly as bad.
But yes, the static noise needs to be gone, or significantly muffledI heard it in both and very muchly dislike it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed that. I was at someone else's house with them while we played and we both noticed it, then I noticed it again when I got home and played on my own rig.
-
Lightborn is a perk that killers have to happen to bring. It's not meta. And yes, while I'm in the lobby and see 3 beamers, either I'm swapping to lightborn or I'm slugging since I won't be allowed to pick up anyway.
Lightborn is totally fine. If you really need to worry about lightborn you can counter it with head on or pallet stuns 🙃

how many hours do you have? in my lobbys everyone gives up over the slightest inconvieniences.
Around 4k.

There used to be absolutely no SBM/MMR. People were quitting over getting stomped over and over and over. Besides, personally I like the current MMR system. I get put with people who generally actually try to play.

Ive got the same issue unfortunately.... Game ran before the event now ill get random fps drops, worse on some maps. RX 6800 XT / 5800X3D. Every other game runs very smooth... Hoping its resolved when the event is over
It was not resolved for me, unfortunately.
rip.
-
Still having the issue, ngl. Is literally no one having this?
It's survived a complete Windows reinstallation. Somehow it's not a problem with the game, despite the only changes are they updated it to The Singularity, and I reinstalled Windows.
-
Anyone at all?
-
Licensing, likely.
-
I've been having like, actual game-breaking FPS drops randomly since the mid-patch of Singularity. Like I'll drop from 120 to like, 8, then back to 120, then back to like, 11, a few times in bursts of a few seconds happening randomly. Like, to the point I just quit streaming it just now because even in bot matches it was unplayable.
-
Mine got reset back to capped at ~60 FPS. I used to play at 120, so this is unbelievably jarring. What changed?
[edit]
I posted apparently at the same time that Remedlast did. I didn't see his post.
-
I just changed mine.
-
You could also let your MMR drop by continuing to play and getting rolled until it stops happening every game.
-
I wouldn't unless it was actually funny, like what Angry Pug did with his Meg costume.
Imagine a relatively meaty/big boy who's fairly hairy and has a big, manly beard, running around in a miniskirt and crop top. lmaoooo

This has to be a joke, right?

The whole point of 6.1.0 was to change the meta and "herd" Killers into playing "nicer".
The problem with that is that they nerfed basically all the Perks that incentivized leaving the Hook/going for multiple Hooks, while buffing Perks that enforced 3-Genning, camping and tunneling
Wasn't that the one where their plan was to get killers kill rates higher? Personally, I'm loving the changes. I really don't think 9 or 10 people on the forums who dislike it constitutes as failure.

But our community is just as obnoxious LOL.
The player base argument seems like a reasonable thing to consider but didn't we have a similar thing happen with nemesis on his release? Player count shot u and came crashing down right after, however the game did not die, and I personally don't think FNAF would kill it either but your thinking is reasonable I suppose.
DBD's community is not the same kind of obnoxious, and you know very well that is true. DBD is just a bunch of salty players who want hand outs and free wins, not people who will argue with you til they're blue in the face about how FNAF needs to be included, or just that you're wrong because you're wrong (especially if it includes FNAF). Both of those happen every time a FNAF thread gets started. People just argue about how it needs to be in the game and refuse to listen to logic or reason.
DBD also isn't full of 12 year olds. It's mostly older teens and young adults. DBD also isn't marketed to younger children, and that's my personal take on the whole thing. Nothing in DBD is marketed to kids, but FNAF's advertisement straight up is to the younger audience. They will want to join in on DBD and most of us do not want that. I've already seen what it's like in VRChat when you're surrounded by kids. it's god awful. I do not want them to have to think on top of being obnoxious little squeakers.
The community didn't die after the Nemesis drop because the Nemesis addition wasn't bringing in waves upon waves of people who were going to leave anyway. They just wanted to play Nemesis.
-
@Advorsus said:
I would hate to see FNAF added in any form.
Putting aside the obnoxiousness of it's player base for a sec, it simply doesn't fit. I'm not a fan of Ringu or the American version, the ring, but it was easy to see how it would fit. Nothing from FNAF fits without just ruining any remaining atmosphere that DBD has left.
Here's what would happen if FNAF were to be added. You'd first see a huge surge of new players as the FNAF fans flock to DBD. It would make solo queue even worse as you have a huge surge of kids and players that don't understand DBD. It would also destroy the community as you now have a bunch of kids just flooding in. A huge amount of veteran players would leave because they don't want to deal with the FNAF fan base. At that point you'd see the player numbers even out to be about what they are now. Then the FNAF fans, all the finicky ones and the kids with short attention spans will leave DBD in droves as they find new games to play and/or realize that DBD plays nothing like a single player point and click game with jump scares.
At this point you'd see the DBD player base shrink to between 10k-20k a month at most. But most of the veteran players will have already moved on to other games and would have no real reason to return to DBD without major overhauls and major content dropping.
It's not worth bringing into this game. The amount of players not wanting it mixed with the amount of finicky players who would just stop playing soon after because it's not FNAF, would kill this game.
Here is exactly why not.
-
I main Wraith because I like how he has to be tactical if he doesn't want to be steamrolled. He has to know when to hit who and why that matters, or he also won't know why priorities shifted.
-
As long as it isn't FNAF related I think I'm ok with basically everything. I think it'd be neat to see Xenomorphs, or like, a corrupted Tarzan that would accomplish a similar effect. Necromorphs would be lit too.

I think he's A tier all day. He has lethality, slowdown, good anti-loop (especially at straight/wall loops), and can close short-medium distance almost instantly. His ability to essentially grab injured survs with his power is nice, and getting flashlight saves against him is gonna be a rarity.
His one weakness is map control, but you can actually use his power to cover longer distances more quickly than most killers.
In the hands of skilled killers, Wesker is gonna be tough.
I think his map mobility is heavily lacking. The cool down is too long on his ability to be used for general mobility. It's not like Nurse.

Some call it aim assist . Basically it messes up and when I'm going for a lunge attack it will hit the object right next to a survivor(even though the timing and aiming is perfect)

Why do you think he's a mid A though?
He can close gaps easily and has answers to loops. His lethality is pretty high, he just doesn't have much in the way of map mobility. He is also fast to get people on the hook. It's about the time management he has, more than anything, I think.
-
I think he did is like, mid a tier. He has lethality, just not really much mobility.

So I happen to used to be a Wraith main myself, probably at least 500+ hours on him as well and held Rank 1 with him way before the buffs and all the changes that were done... though I don't play him very much anymore,
May I ask you, what your "Aura Reading" Wraith build looks like? Which Perks / Addons do you use? Thanks!
before the rework I did BBQ, Nurses, Thrilling and Jolt. Sometimes I'd swap out Jolt for I'm All Ears.
-
How about you take Off the Record or Iron Will to go with it to reduce your noise in end game? You're already building for that if you take Low Profile, there's no reason to gimp yourself. c:
-
How are they longer than like 3 or 4 minutes on live servers? What would a priority requeue do that's going to speed that up? I play both sides generally at all times and I really don't see them get much longer than that, pretty regularly at that. I'm also willing to hop to the other queue when it takes more than a few minutes though, tbh.
The PTB doesn't really matter for queue times because it's already a small fraction of only a portion of the game's population on it.

I'm aware you gave more than Wraith. My bias just went off and I responded. lmao.

Any Killer... Lethal Pursuer, BBQ, I'm All Ears, Floods Of Rage
Seems LP increases the aura reading time use that
Gearhead might work seems they changed it... I THINK
Hangman's Trick maybe... but it's useless right now
The Dredge's aura reading perk (I don't know what it's called)
Wraith with the aura reading addon... maybe
Mickey with the aura reading addon... maybe
Hag with the aura reading addon... maybe
Pig with the aura reading addon... maybe
If you're willing to play the long game and accept that generators are going to get done, Wraith can be very, very mean with aura reading abilities.
Take that from a player with at least 500+ hours on just Wraith. I feel it's stronger than just a maybe. Also, just like any killer, survivors who are SWFing and on coms will likely run circles around you. How hard depends on how mean you want to let yourself be.
-
IMO Wraith is a good contender, since he already abuses his raw move speed.
Lethal, BBQ, Floods, and I prefer Nurses but I could see I'm All Ears or Lightborn if necessary.
-
Seems like you won the lottery.
-
Sounds like you just don't know the timing, tbh. You almost have to react to them swinging, now.
-
Hey Sluzzy. c: How are you? Still chillin' and grillin'?
Also, nah the game is still pretty survivor sided.

Well, surely there'd be some way for the server to be able to tell why you disconnected? Or at least, make an estimation.
i.e., was the player giving movement input when they disconnected? Did they open the escape menu before the disconnect took place? Was the "abandon match" button pressed before they disconnected?
Kinda feels like it wouldn't be rocket science for such a thing to be in place, though granted, I have no idea what the code end of things looks like, and I, frankly, dread to.
There is literally not a way.
Imagine it like a phone call, and then silence. You have no way of knowing if the call dropped, or they dropped dead, or if there was an emergency and they had to put the phone down, or if there was an accidental hang up, etc. All that you know is that the transmission stopped.
Long story short: Internet problems suck, but no they should not remove the penalty. If anything I think it's too lenient.

@StarLost said:
...It depends entirely on the map.
A good map can allow you to get rid of Ruin or Devour instantly. Put down a boon immediately. All sorts of wonderful stuff.
A flashlight can be nice, but if the killer is smort it can also do very little. Against Wraith and Nurse though, flashlights are crazy good.
They can both bait you into wasting the flashlight then punish you for not trying to waste the flashlight. So it's like, yeah they're good but they're also a catch 22. Wraith will just run circles around you and all you get is a couple seconds. Significantly less than if you just stunned him. Nurse is a similar boat. She can just blink away then blink back if she knows you're gonna burn her.

@Predated said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/318230/mass-sabotage-very-unbalanced-needs-change
"has very little counterplay" -> drop the survivor you're carrying for 30 seconds near the hook that was sabo'd most recently, then hook again. It's really not difficult. Let alone that you can fake going to 1 hook and then quickly turn around too.
As great as that sounds, the survivor can move away from the hook far enough they can escape on the way back under various conditions if you drop them. Flip-Flop, Boil Over, Tenacity, just game awareness knowing he dropped you to chase the dumbass Meg who tried to hide near the hook, and ways to get yourself up if he runs far enough away, like Unbreakabill/+It's speed increase buddies, exponential, etc.
You're basically forced to pick another hook, and more often than not a successful sabo WILL screw your hook play. Not always, but how often do you see survivors saboing while you're holding somebody? They're typically busy trying to set up for the rescue or harassing you to slow you down anyway, so it's not always going to be just "lol drop'em or pick a new one." It actually super sucks when you catch their strong runner and they all turn into little troopers. During carry, 1 sabo is painful enough, but when you hear 3 all you can do is drop and just camp, and pray that they still didn't win the interaction and someone went to smash gens while you were busy defending the slug.
-
You don't need it when you have object.
-
You'll eventually stop getting matched with them.
-
Strangely enough I've broken out my Nurse as a temporary main for the time being, but I'm gonna go back to Wraith later. I just want to see what the test will do while I'm on a killer that ignores a lot of SWF setups. There's less forward thinking on Nurse than there is on Wraith, since she just ignores most terrain "just because."
-
I've seen it so many times now.

It is a Strawman you didn't disprove my prior point you used something that is completely different that's like saying well people can just put a switch on their router to lag it seriously we know this already but the difference is there's things that exist that are far easier to do vs load up 20 streams on discord you aren't being practical you are grasping straws.
Strawman Definition-
- an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.
"her familiar procedure of creating a straw man by exaggerating their approach
2.) a person regarded as having no substance or integrity.
"a photogenic straw man gets inserted into office and advisers dictate policy"
And me giving an example of how to lag yourself out with Discord is not a strawman. It's me saying VPNs are the only way to do it.

That's the most strawman argument I've ever seen wow.
That's literally a way to artificially control your ping using Discord. A practical, real world example is not a strawman argument, since I'm not attacking a made up villain here. My point is that I don't think it's feasible or reasonable for them to disable VPNs, as that would also screw over high profile streamers that bring them free ad revenue.
If you stream and regularly get enough traffic to get a payout from Twitch, you NEED to be using a VPN.
